Sonic Mania Plus - NETFLIX Game Reviews

Great but level select is weird. I loved how well this port was made but the things that make me distracted is that the screen doesn’t fill the whole thing and the touch pads go through was we can see and the level select is bland in my opinion because the original design was PERFECT! Other than that I would still give it 5 stars because the special stages normally lag on fan ports on things like the Wii and Wii U but the mobile doesn’t have lag in them so it’s GREAT!!

Awesome port, but…. The game is awesome. The best thing about it is that I didn’t have to buy some sort of DLC version of it the thing I don’t think has a lot of favor to it are the bonus games they really seem difficult. I can’t even clear the one with the blue spears. another thing about this is that it will randomly pause the game. I don’t know if you’ve already fixed this, but please fix it if you haven’t already.

Feels just like the CW ports. I first experienced Sonic 1/CD/2 through the Christian Whitehead ports, which still hold up well today, even with touch controls. I’ve already got Mania on the Switch, but it just felt right to have it with the others, plus it was a nice excuse to replay it. The controller support is great, and the touch controls work well for regular platforming. My only complaint with them is that blue spheres can be kinda hard to control with touch controls, but it’s something that can be learned quickly. At the time of this review there’s a glitch in the D.A. Garden where the song immediately before the one you select always plays instead, hopefully that gets fixed. But overall, one of the best Sonic games ever, if you have a Netflix account and have been considering this game, definitely go for it.

Amazing Port, Except Sound Needs To Be Fixed. Hello there! Sonic Mania Plus Netflix Edition works great in Gameplay and Graphics(I would hope so considering it’s already a masterpiece on every other device)! However, there are missing sound effects that are supposed to play multiple time’s especially in Special Stages with the Blue Spheres. When you collect them, some sounds are missing that aren’t missing in the home console and PC versions of the game, as well as the audio being quite choppy when 2 things happen at once(music playing and a sound effect or 2 plays in quick succession) and at the Act Clear/Victory Screen. I hope these audio problems can be fixed and I’ll rate it 5/5 Stars, cause this game easily deserves it after the audio is fixed! Have a great day everyone that reads this and Netflix Games!

This port needs a LOT of fixing.. This port needs lots of fixes such as the audio, graphics, UI, and especially the Thumbstick. Please change it to a D-PAD because it’s so hard to use especially when you wanna Spindash. And make the Thumbstick and Jump button bigger and give us the option to change the size and placement. But at the end of the day it is Sonic Mania so I had lots of fun. Its good to see y'all are actually interested in fixing the port to make it more like the other mobile ports by Christian Whitehead. I would love to see a Shredders Revenge Mobile Port Quality someday.

Good game. I just found out that sonic mania was in mobile I played this in my Nintendo switch before it broke it was like a year ago then i search up sonic in the App Store because I was trying to find sonic games to play then I saw sonic mania I was confused since I thought it was not in mobile I downloaded it and the games was good as always 5 stars.

“A Great Sonic Port”. I’ve had Sonic Mania for a while now ever since it first released come 2017. I dunno about if Sonic Forces was a banger. Anyways, I’m not here to talk about that. I’m here to talk about how great SEGA® did to port Sonic Mania Plus. (Also props to Netflix as well.) I didn’t know if Sonic Mania Plus was ever gonna get a mobile port on the App Store, and here we are. A friend of mine liked Sonic Mania Plus, so there is many positives to this port. Thanks SEGA® for porting the game and hope to see more come uhh… I guess 2025 or 2026.

Amazing Game But A Few Problems.. This is a very good game but there’s a problem, its extremely hard to move and jump and understand what you’re tryna do especially rolling, rolling its extremely difficult and the game isn’t full screen, other than that, this is a very good game i been wanting to play this game for 6 - 5 years, and now i finally could, thank you so much for making my childhood game come to mobile!

Runs great, but a few little issues. Runs smoothly on my iPhone 14, looks great and performs just like its computer counterpart. However, the controls are a little funky sometimes, the analog stick on the screen is pretty snappy and looks a bit out of place. The aspect ratio doesn’t fit to my phones screen though and has black bars on the sides of my screen. If these were fixed then it would be more than amazing. Other than that, great game and feels nice playing on mobile!

Just like Sonic Mania on the Playstation. It’s great port, and a plus for me is that it’s free! My mom already had a netflix account. As for the menus, i don’t see why they couldn’t just reuse the ones on console, and in my opinion, they butchered the sound test, lol, apart from that. Great port, would reccomend. Super fun, my only issue is that i think the debug mode is glitched because it keeps going away and i have to reactivate it, and sometimes it doesn’t even activate in the first place. I’m a massive sonic fan and i hope Sonic Frontiers can also come to mobile too, and also i’ve seen all the sonic films and am gonna see sonic 3 when it releases in theaters. Overall, a 9/10 port. Fun game, and great franchise.

Really Netflix…. Netflix why do we have to sign in to play the game, what does that have to do with anything. Just because this is a Netflix game don’t mean we have to sign in. Netflix please take a way this feture it’s getting annoying. It has nothing to do with the game. But although the game is pretty cool. But Netflix take away the sign in feature. Game is great, just 1 Problem. So I loved playing it on my other device, but now that it was on mobile I thought, “Oh, it would be great to play this over again!” And so, when I booted it up, the first thing I loved was that it came with the DLC for free! It also has a MUCH better debug menu, since you can access all the sounds at the same time and don’t have to swipe through them. My only problem is the joystick, which I find is too low and I often mess up because of that, so if that could be higher, that would be fantastic! Again, this is a great way to play it! Thank you so much for bringing it to mobile!

Just get it on Steam or console.. TL;DR: Games awesome, but this port isn’t. Mania is amazing game with or without the DLC. With remind classic zones and a few new ones, it’s no wonder that Mania was loved back at launch. This mobile port however doesn’t seem both polished or well to play. The Screen is stuck at old IPhone mode, so you’ll get black bars on the sides, the menus have to load and load again for no reason, and many hud or ui graphics don’t look well or fell well though out. The life hub is under your score and the mobile Sonic 1+2 ports had them on the right side to compromise for mobile play. It looks wonky and gives less room for gameplay. At the end of the day, it’s ok but your better getting more for your satisfaction by playing on Steam or Console.

Worthwhile if you have the membership, and includes DLC. If you’re a Sonic fan and have a Netflix membership (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) then this game is worth downloading. I never got around to buying the console version, so I just play this version whenever I get bored. The controls are decent and the gameplay is smooth (as long as you have a decent phone). Also, this is actually Sonic Mania Plus, not just base Sonic Mania, so that’s a bonus!

Game does not function, Blasting audio. So I previously downloaded this game on my old phone and it worked near perfectly with only a few very minor issues. This changed however when I got a new phone and transferred all the data from my old phone to the new one. Whenever I open the app now, the sound is peaking and blasting at insane volume, even while at the minimum volume. Additionally all UI elements (Text, buttons, etc) just do not work, they are jumbled around all over the screen and just show random text sprites. A J on the right, a cut of Y near the bottom, It’s a complete mess. I really enjoy the game and have already played through it on console which had none of the issues listed and was for sure a 10/10 experience. It just really pains me to write such a critical review for a game that I love so much. I really hope that this is changed and when it is I will change my review accordingly.

It’ ok. the game could’ve been better, but it’s OK. The controls are confusing. I think if they got the guys who created the Sonic 1 and two and CD mobile ports, I think the mobile version of sonic mania would be that much would be 100 times betterthan the one we have right now so probably they might do an update where they fix the game and also there’s probably glitches there but yeah it’s just my review.

Sonic Mania Plus. It is a fun game there is multiple levels and in those levels you have to defeat Eggman to defeat him you have to hit his head. To become super sonic you have to get 7 chaos emeralds and in the level if you get 50 rings or more double touch on the jump button then you will become super sonic. And it’s actually 2years and older game and that’s What I like about the game.

Still the best sonic game. I don’t know why this port gets so much hate, yes it’s audio is compressed and the game is a little clunky but it’s still great. Let’s start off with the negatives 1. I don’t understand why they put this behind a Netflix subscription and yes I had a subscription but what about for the people that don’t. 2.like I said before, this is freakin clunky. Now let’s start with the positives it’s everything

Port has issues that can easily be fixed. Don't get me wrong, I love this game (I've played it more times than I can count on my Switch) and I was excited to play it again on mobile. However, this port has a few issues which make it a lot less fun. Probably the worst issue is the audio. The songs seem to play a bit slower than they're supposed to, and stutters and crackling are very common. It's a big deal in this game because it has such a great soundtrack, so it being mangled detracts from the experience. In addition, there's some minor but noticeable slowdown throughout the entire game, and it gets worse when getting hit and losing a lot of rings. I'm playing the game on an iPhone 14 Pro, which absolutely should not be struggling. The game works just fine on the Switch, so a phone that is substantially more powerful shouldn't perform worse than a tablet with specs from 2015. The game is still fun, which is what really matters, but to see such a great game released in a state like this is disappointing, to say the least. Here's hoping a patch will come by and fix these issues.

No Widescreen & Super buggy. First of all there’s nothing more I have been asking for than for this game to finally get a mobile release. I’m happy for that but the execution is kinda lame. The game is super buggy and it does not support widescreen like the pics indicate in the description. There also needs to be an option to adjust the controls. I’m sure these issues will be addressed, but after all this time you would think that these things would have been sorted out especially the lack off Widescreen support. All other older sonic games made for mobile have it and why it was missed on this game is beyond me.

I love it but•••. I have been waiting to play this game since the announcement was released and it came out today and the game is really good but the problem is the controls they are too tiny and they’re so low in the corners of the screen. It is hard to play especially during the special stages. and maybe you can make them more like the sonic 2 mobile controls and in the options you can let us move the controls where we would want them to be like in sonic 1 and 2 mobile otherwise so far it is one of the best sonic games I’ve played on mobile thank you and please read

Excellent game, pretty good port. Having a little experience with the console version, I found the controls to be perfectly serviceable. I had some trouble with Blue Spheres, but I found that tapping the edges of the “trackpad” rather than dragging the pointer from its center as in the main game was a good solution. However, I found a glitch in Flying Battery whereby I became trapped beneath one of the curved downward slopes (not sure how . While this only happened once, and it was far from game-breaking, I would still like you to fix it if it is in your power.

Mania on the go - with some problems.. I’m so hyped that I get to play mania while I’m out since it’s one of my favorite games, however I am disappointed that the audio has a lot of stuttering making it kind of hard to enjoy the music, the game isn’t in widescreen making it so that there are black bars on both sides of the screen, and a lack of customizing the controls.

Game plays great, but the music audio is a bit distracting because it clips.. As stated in the title, the game plays great for a port. The only problem is, the music gets annoying because of the subtle clips that happened in the background with the music. I don’t know what happened with the port job, but yeah… You might wanna fix that. oh, I also did some checking, and apparently, the gameplay audio was choppy too. Like I said, I don’t know if it was a Rushport job or what, but can you please fix it. Thanks.

This Is a good game and Netflix pls respond. So this is really good people call it bad buts it’s not I have no problems with it and this is the only way I can play sonic mania I used too on my brothers device ps4 but he moved to a diffrent house and this is really helpful to keep active and this is a massive slam dunk like the game cuz I was suprised that there was a sonic mania on mobile and I’m so happy playing it on my mobile it’s super good and I hope you respond to this Netflix it’s ok if you don’t game is good.

Not but but there are a couple of things. I love sonic and the community. But now that they added this game I love it. There’s 1 thing I will complain about though. It’s the joysticks, I recommend playing on a like controller thing that will go to your phone or connect a game controller to Ipad/phone. But the gameplay is good and it’s running smooth. Thx sonic community for putting this on Netflix. Also you have to have a subscription sadly to play but anyway I’m out, Peace.

Sufficient, but at times unbearable.. The music files are poorly optimized, as there is a prevailing crackling noise that pursues across playing session, which is especially evident upon the occurrence of increased on screen action (I.E, Sonic’s ever so expanding speeds, and the encountering of one of enemies.) Second, I would to address the input lag. During regular gameplay (the acts) it can to be of notice but never one of bother. However, it can truly bring about loads of struggle when playing the special and bonus stages, as these require extremely precise and quick inputs. Upon the interaction of the much varieties of these aspects of the game, they can essentially be rendered unbeatable.

Great, but one glaring flaw.. This is an absolutely amazing port of the best Sonic game, and it’s a blast to use, but i feel like there should definitely be a way to make the touch controls bigger, as I have to move my fingers way down and it makes it difficult to control the characters. Also, the menu screen is a bit tedious. Other than that, it’s a lot of fun, and I would highly recommend it if the critiques are fixed, thank you!

This is not the full package. Look don’t get me wrong this ports good the problem I have are debug involved, debug should work in cutscenes and encore, the debugging level select is ruined and worst of all the dev menu can’t be used but besides that, it somewhat good. PS thanks for keeping og hidden palace in game but remove camera lock please!! Edit: ummm so now that I think, the s2 hidden palace badnicks: gone mods: gone S3 air/ mania’s menu: gone CW’s arrows: gone the proper control icons from ps_, switch, and any thing but Xbox: gone now this last one is not your fault but please and all abilities for sonic please also add aiz to save file stage select please please!!!!!!

Good game. This game is good, I know all the codes, I even how to be in debug mode in encore mode, and it’s great even the menu and the gameplay, but sometimes the audio when I open the game it’s like 1 sound frame per second, so I have to wait for about between 1-2 min can you fix that, anyways the game is good, 10/10

I been a fan for years. Realistically I would give a 9 out of 10 if i could but 5 stars is best I could give sense this game as no ads and I’m wondering if when gta6 comes out can you make gta5 on the App Store by then? I’m just curious is that’s possible because I only played gta m5 once in my life and I want to try it so if it’s possible please make it, back to sonic the game is great and everything else is amazing and I support any sega game is made especially this one, sonic mania brings me back by time and I loved watching sonic shows it was the best for me, thank you Netflix for bringing me back in time

Love the game, but there’s a problem. So uhhh the game is good but there is a couple of problems with it that makes me not rate it 5 stars. First of all in flying battery zone it dose not save your progress like for example. I finished FBZ act 1 but when I die in act two and lose all my lives it takes me back to act 1 and acts are very long so I have to play a 10 mins to go back to act 2 boss fight in flying battery zone which is really hard to beat cuz I keep swinging into the spicks. So every time I get a game over it thakes me to act 1 and it takes me 10 mins to get back to my regular score and I think you know what I mean so I am gonna move on. The second and last problem is the hitbox (but I think no one has this problem but me) so maybe it’s just my devise and not you guys fault. But it will still be nice if you can fix the first issue and then it will be a perfect game.

one problem…. great and underrated port! still sad i can’t figure out why i can’t use debug mode in saved games, but can in no save, but i can get over that. one problem i’ve noticed, isn’t terrible, but when you get to the 4th hardboiled heavy in the final fight, the rider heavy, my game crashes i think. if it isn’t crashing, it’s still kicking me out of the app and starting me back at the beginning of titanic monarch. (only happened in encore mode may also happen in mania mode) now this isn’t a problem if you can beat it fast enough, but it still exists, at least for me. also i was super sonic and trying to see what all the phases looked like. but otherwise, really good! just a few bugs i think.

Very great game but one small problem😁. I’m a massive fan of Sonic the hedgehog ever since I was I think 6 or 7, but that’s not the problem. The problem is when you know there are peelouts in Sonic games where you look up and press the jump button right? Well, I tried it here but the only thing is that I jump, I can’t even do what I wanted to do. Please add or fix this problem, it would help me a lot. Thank you for reading this!

sonic mania plus was always good. This port is pretty much the same as the main game, but it’s actually optimized for mobile. One thing is that it can sound a little off, but I’m fine with it. UPDATE: I did find another problem, debug mode doesn’t work with a cleared save file. I tried to get 99 lives on my save, but I couldn’t get it to work.

Support most devices for screen fit. So this game’s screen isn’t full and the controls are tiny I wish there was an option to make them bigger and transparent and screen fitting the screen I’m playing on is iPad and the screen isn’t on full add this as an update I recommend you should 🫵😃

Very nice game. I like this game because the port is pretty good and it’s free unlike Nintendo and the game is a 9.5/10 but there is a problem the controls and really tiny and also when I’m getting chaos emeralds every time the joystick move to the edge it make me keep spinning and also it’s great and all but just make the screen a lot bigger.

Just play the Nintendo switch version😐. So sonic mania, everybody knows it and everybody loves it but this just doesn’t hit the same as the Nintendo switch. I have it on switch and it is a phenomenal game. Probably my favorite sonic game right next to sonic three and knuckles and overall the Nintendo switch version is a amazing game that you should definitely give a play. It’s not just on attend a switch so if you have another consul available definitely play it… but this version just doesn’t hit the same. First of all the menu is just so sad. Not like the way that it makes you sad. It’s just super disappointing. the switch version was so much cleaner. And Nintendo switch HAD TOUCH CONTROL THEY COULD HAVE HAD KEPT IT THE SAME!!! and that’s not all the buttons to move around. It just looks so awesome. They could’ve just used the ones from the sonic one and two heck, even Sonic CD touch controls looked better than this! They just don’t mix well at all with the high detailed graphics of mania. And I’m not done yet for some reason. My game lags really really badly one second you’ll be going to the normal frames per second and the next second it will CHUG TILL LIKE THREE FRAMES PER SECOND. IT’S SO ANNOYING. Oh, and this is probably a problem on my end, but I’m still gonna take points away because of it. And overall just play the Nintendo switch version or any other port of sonic mania just not this one!

It’s great, but one of the boss fights glitches out for me. I don’t know if it’s just my device, but there’s a glitch in the green hill zone 2 eggbot boss fight. When I defeat eggman, the whole section that I’m supposed to free the case with the animals doesn’t have the bottom platform, and I keep falling into the hole where the platform is supposed to be in, so I can’t defeat the boss fight and I’m stuck on the stage. Again, I don’t know if it’s just a glitch on my tablet, but please fix it if it isn’t. 🥺

Broken audio ruins the overall experience. As has been noted by other reviews going back to Spring of this year, the audio is still broken and will stutter/pop throughout the entire game. The game still appears to be getting updated, but this is such a glaring and experience-breaking issue, I’m confused as to why it has still not been addressed so many months after launch. Since other platform ports don’t exhibit this issue, I’d recommend that you purchasing the game on a different device such as PlayStation, Switch, Xbox or PC. Happy to change this rating to 5 stars once the audio stuttering is fixed, but until then I can’t recommend this port to anyone

How did you do this!. I thought mania would be one of the last classic sonic games to come out but I was wrong I thought you would come out sonic 3 but whatever this game is one of the best. I highly recommend anyone who likes sonic to play this game and I can finally watch Pokémon on Netflix and the game was so good. I quite literally needed to get a home screen that matches sonic mania +

Love this game but needs more settings. I LOVE sonic so when I saw mania could be playable without a apk I was hyped I played it was good but I have I have my Ickes for one why isn’t the screen full and sonic ports the is full so I do not get why and this game it’s not. Two the touch controls are not the best in this game I think they should what the Christian whitehead ports did and to it to mania that is all.

Good port with one critical bug. I’ve enjoyed my time with this version of Sonic Mania, but there’s one unfortunate softlock that can’t be avoided to my knowledge - the transition between Chemical Plant Zone and Studiopolis Zone seems to be broken, and the player character for some reason won’t burst out of the manhole to start the zone. The pause button also doesn’t work when this happens, so there’s not even a way to quit out of the zone and reload it to continue. The only way around this softlock - to my knowledge - is to fully close the game and reopen it, then reload your save file at Studiopolis Zone which will force the player to start having already hopped out of the manhole allowing them to proceed. Please look into this problem as no other version of Sonic Mania suffers from it, and it shouldn’t be present here.

It’s good. Honestly I enjoyed this port,I played sonic mania on my pc but that doesn’t work anymore, so i decided to check this out,and it’s really good,it runs good on my iPhone 12,it sounds and looks good and the special stages are playable,the only thing I don’t like about is that it isn’t widescreen/black borders and that’s it, and than I’m pretty sure it will get addressed soon,so overall all lab 42 and Netflix,y’all outdid yallselfs!!!!,keep improving!!

Good, but could use some improvement.. So I have already beat the game on console and I have done a lot of looking around the game so I know how it works. I tried this version of the game, it’s pretty good though it still has bad audio quality, the Manhole bug for Studiopolis Zone is still there, the D.A garden bug, and the Blue Spheres bug. I also noticed that none of the cheats are there, holding the buttons A and X for opening the sound test for cheats doesn’t work at all. I primarily use the cheats so I can fly as Super Sonic while completing the game again, but I really want to be able to do that on my mobile devices when I can’t use console.

The amazing sonic mania, now on mobile. I have been a sonic fan for years, we’ve had many amazing games through the years ( colors ultimate, origins, frontiers , dream team, superstars ). And a new mobile game called Sonic Rumble got announced today. So thanks to Netflix we now have Sonic mania on mobile! The game runs smooth and has good retro engine controls. I own the game on my Xbox and switch and it is good to play Sonic mania whenever and whenever I want to. Atleast the app file size is only 200mb. 7 months until Sonic 3 so get hyped.

How good this game is. I forgot this game about a month ago but here the review it one of the best sonic games that either has submitted lore i really appreciated this game but here the problem why we could only move left right up and down in the other games it not like that could netflix change this and have a nice day week year and decade

A pretty good port. This is a pretty good port since I enjoy mania a lot, I like the inclusion of the Plus DLC as it is in the game and DOSEN’T require you to buy separately. But there should be an option to make the touch controls bigger since I can only get past the first two special stages in mania mode with those small controls, they’re very finicky too. Overall, it’s a good port, and is a bit overhated.

This game is so glitchy don’t play terrible game. This game is a good is what I would say if it was not for the glitches this game I to glitchy every time I run and they is a moving object that my character is not tall enough to get crushed by I just get crushed anyway because I guess the hit boxes are so big when I play as ray I can never go up and down for some reason every time I press up and down it does nothing and sometimes when I play as mighty I just into a ball and hit a spike sometimes it does not even block the damage also lava reef fells way to long.

Awesome game. This game is awesome I like how it’s like the original game for Switch, Xbox and PlayStation there were a glitch when you enter the third act and you are stuck there. But other wise this is good! And you guys should add a local/global multiplayer option where the players can work together(like CO-OP) and race each other too. -Sharp5hot001

Plz make it easier: metallic madness the boss. The boss in metallic madness is tricky and pls if you lose all of your lives in zone 2 pls respawn in act 2 because you have to do the boss again which is annoying

Great Sonic Game, & Great Mobile Port. I loved this game ever since it came out. and to have it easily accessible at any time on my phone, and being able to play it without WiFi/data is just the cherry on top.

Good but not good. The debug mode is not working for me but if I what to play with debug mode I have to play no save mode please fix it. Please fix the Studio level I can not play it and play more levels because I can’t finish the level please fix it thanks.

Classic Sonic at its finest.. Sonic Mania is an absolute near-perfect Sonic game, and seeing it on mobile is a delight. Although, there are somethings that need improvements in this port. First off, this game doesn’t make use of all the screen space, and with the joysticks it doesn’t make for a good experience, and second, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE UI?! I feel like it was so oversimplified when it really didn’t need to be. The pause menu did not need that change, and the Nintendo Switch version is a demonstration of not needing to oversimplify the game. Use the Sonic 2 and 1 ports on mobile as a base to see what you can do. I would love to see the screen size change to fit an iPad, cause right now, the screen size is not doing it for me. Another thing is the controls on mobile. I don’t like what you guys did with it. It is really annoying to control the characters when the extra screen space is making it hard to view the controls. Either way, this port could’ve been perfect, but these inconsistencies with the game is making it hard to find an enjoyable experience. Well, that’s all from me, and I’d like for these things to be fixed.

REALLY GOOD but with one flaw. This port of sonic mania is almost flawless, but there is one thing that’s really bugging me and probably a lot of other players. The game doesn’t fill the whole screen. I understand that the game wasn’t designed to accommodate the wider aspect ratio, but if the other sonic ports are in widescreen, then there’s no other reason that this one shouldn’t be either. Other than that it’s perfect, love how there’s no ads.

Why DO we need to sign in NetFlix account?. No seriously, this has become a problem with NetFlix Games, since parents would've even trust their child to play this, because they think that you have to pay while logging in.

Solid Port. Sonic Mania Plus is already a amazing game, and this port is overall pretty good. I have a iPhone 8, and it has no technical issues that I can notice, the only problem I found was some audio glitches with rings, blue spheres, and the score tally

The worst version of the game. This version of Sonic Mania has to be the worst I’ve ever played. The menu looks horrible. The menu from PC and Console could have been easily ported. The music cuts out every 3 seconds. The touch controls appear in cutscenes. The touch controls are also bad especially using them in the Blue Sphere special stage. The touch controls from Christian Whitehead’s Sonic 1 and 2 mobile ports should’ve been used. The game also lags despite me playing on an iPhone 15 Pro. The aspect ratio doesn’t bother me as I play the PC version on a 16:10 Laptop and even that is not fullscreen. The mobile version is also missing time attack and competition game modes. If you are getting a Netflix subscription just for this game. Just play the unofficial version of this game. RDSK. It has everything from the PC version. In fact, the PC version is used as a base for this port. The Christian Whitehead controls and runs much better than this version. I assume that Lab 42 ported this game. If so, Lab 42. Please fix your game. It ruins the masterpiece of Sonic Mania. A perfect meld of Sonic’s past present and future. I implore you, fix this game.

Game doesnt save my progress when entering the next zone. When I game over in Flying Battery Zone act 2 it doesnt restart me there, it restarts me in act 1. I just finished act 1 with 4 lives, exited at act 2 then when I reentered my save file, it started me at the beginning of act 1 with 4 lives instead of act 2

No sound at all? No instructions…. Game has no sound, otherwise looks like it might be fun. Nowhere to select sound on or off, but maybe it is designed to have no sound? Weird choice… And no tutorial or guide to how to control? I’m kind of guessing and swiping at the little circles on the screen but can’t figure out what they really do. Characters seem to run around at random instead of stopping.

Great Port. This was a great port of the beloved SEGA game onto mobile devices(with the help of Netflix)! I only have a couple critiques: The doesn’t fully use the screen of the iPhones or IPads, there is a weird glitchy colors along the sides of the black borders on the bottom but it is really just a nitpick of mine. Anyways besides those it’s a great port!

Great game but poorly optimized. Sonic mania itself is a 10/10 but this port is not great. For reference I’m on a iPhone 15 pro. You can hear the music popping and skipping slightly from the game struggling to run at full speed. The game stutters as you’re running along the stages or pick up power ups. I hope they fix it because this is one of my favorite games.

Sonic mania plus on mobile is good but some bad things. This game is good at all but why do you have to press sega logo to get debug mod it’s bad and why is the menu messed up and why not the one from Xbox it could’ve been better if you would do the Xbox menu for Sonic mania plus?

The interface. This port is fine but the only problem I have is the d pad and jump button, I just feel like it’s too small, also I recommend the dpad to be changed into a hybrid between a d pad and a joystick like the Cristian whitehead ports.

Great game, port’s okay…. I’ve played Mania like crazy back in 2017 when it launched on Nintendo Switch, so it’s no surprise that I’ve noticed some issues with this version. The UI is rather odd, music and sfx tend to stutter and controls are stiff when inputting certain directions (special stages suffer the most). Great game but port needs more polish.

Amazing, though I have some annoyances with it. IT’S AMAZING TO FINALLY HAVE GAME ON MOBILE!! The best “classic” Sonic game to ever grace this earth! Though, there is some minor annoyances I have with it, and I will list them below. 1. 16:9 aspect ratio, sonic mania can run in many many aspect ratios so I don’t see why not, also for consistency with the other ported sonic games. 2. The control ui, as a sprite artist, it hurts me. Especially the joysticks, I would use the control ui from the other games, or add antialiasing to the corners of the controls. 3. Some of the audio files sound compressed, or “crunchy”. And that’s about it! Thank you so much for porting this to mobile!

Works just like you’d hope. The latest patches bring the game up to full quality and it runs and sounds great now. It’s awesome to have one of my favorite games with me always.

Semi False Advertising. Had to write this review because for some reason the App Store screenshots show the game being played in the normal modern IPhone widescreen, however the actual game displays the game in the average 16:9, leaving space at the edges of the screen. Not sure if they’re gonna update the game like this eventually, but it’s something to note

Third level boss is way too hard.. I thought this game was amazing until I got to the third level and the boss for act one has heat seeking missiles that are basically unavoidable no matter what I try. I’ve played sonic games for over 20 years, and never seen a missile that was so unavoidable before. I guess since I can’t get past this boss, I’ll just delete the game. What a waste. What were you thinking developers?

Choppy audio & sluggish controls. I own this game on nearly every gaming platform you can imagine. It’s “OK,” but it’s definitely not the same experience as on the other platforms. The audio is choppy and the input lag (touch and Bluetooth) is significant. I played this on an iPhone 15 Pro. I’d avoid this and just play on other platforms. Much better experience, the way it’s intended!

Idk About this :/. I would rate it a 3.5 if I could but I cant, anyways this port has problems like an annoying thumbstick, bad menu ui, and worst of all horrible quality music, but in the end it is sonic mania which I cannot complain about. Hopefully they release an update that fixes all these issues.

Awesome game naoto ohshima. When I was 3 I would play Sonic all day I would try to get every Sonic game ever made they are all awesome I would even draw Sonic is sooooooooooooooo awesome hie speed the background is like following Sonic tails or knuckles it’s a dream come true and I would not be me without Sonic.

Control sticks. The game itself is a 10 but I wish they would replace the annoying control sticks with a D pad and buttons. The control sticks are to sensitive especially when playing Mean Bean and trying to spin dash.

SONIC MANIA IS SO FUN (but theres a glitch). I had so nuch fun playing this game but when i went to oil ocen it was normal but at the enc of oil ocen 2 it glitched, so I reloaded the game! But when i loaded it the start button was replaced sith a glitch mini sonic, hope they fix this!

Screen Size. It doesn’t fit the full screen of any of the new phones…. lol. That might not be a big deal to some people, but it really is so much more immersive when a game fits the full screen. I really hope that’s fixed in an update. other sonic games I’ve tried on here, fit the full screen.

Pretty decent Mobile port of one of my favorite sonic titles.. Been enjoying this for a little while now and really my only complaint is the audio….I really hope a hot fix for the audio crackling comes along sooner than later. Other than that, I think it’s alright.
