Pianist. This app is incredible! I enjoy reading the articles but enjoy the teaching and new music at the back end of each issue, i highly recommend it for students and teachers.

Unable to open. After downloading the app, paid the subscription, the app doesn't open!!! What am I paying for? Wasted $38 bucks!!!

A terrific aid to the student of any skill level.. I find each issue to contain a wide range of information - the tips and lessons are all very helpful, and the included sheet music always pleases.

The Best Piano Magazine on the market. If only Apple would include this magazine on their News+ app subscription. I would definitely keep my subscription, after the trial period.

Great magazine with excellent video classes, but can’t print scores. Wonderful magazine. Video lessons are excellent. full of scores. One of the main reasons to get Pianist magazine is to get and play the sheet music. Unfortunately, there is no way to print the scores from the iOs device. Unless you can read and play from an iPad,you might want to get the paper magazine instead. Of course, you can find many classical scores elsewhere.

Excelente. Revista de muy buena calidad amena de alto nivel en la formación del pianista profesional y aficionado. Excelente

Best magazine. It’s the only active magazine. It continues to inspire me and education is priceless, especially as an adult student.

Nice but needs better download speed. I like it once it is in my iPad, but the download speed per issue is dreadful. If I want to open an issue over the weekend, I better make sure to start downloading by Tuesday to make sure I have it by Saturday. And while the issue is being downloaded, forget using the iPad for anything else. I do not know if it is an Apple issue or a Pianist issue, but none of the other apps take this long to download, even when they are twice or thrice the size.

Great idea; bad software. I was so looking forward to this publication — only to find that the app isn’t ready for prime time (in the U.S. anyway). Only two (out of approximately two dozen) attempts at reading from an issue have succeeded, because the pages won’t load properly: they’re variously . . . cut off in the middle, stretched out and unreadable, unscrollable, or simply blacked out. And there’s no help/support easily available even at the magazine’s website (nary a support mention). So I’ve asked for a full refund from Apple. Quite frustrating.

Impossible not to have in any serious library. 5 Stars

Something's wrong. I downloaded it and when I tried to open it in newsstand all that came up was the word "Pianist" in black letters with a white background. I couldn't do anything so I'm not sure if it's something on my part or if something's wrong with the new version.

Shameful Incompetence. I would call this a ripoff, but I don't think it's their intention to take money for nothing; they just didn't bother to make it work, and then do nothing to fix it. The magazines don't download. One of the other reviews says it takes days; I admit I haven't waited that long, and don't plan to. I requested help a year or so ago and never got a response. Take the money and run appears to be the plan.

Love the scores that come with playing tips and recordings. This magazine has lots of great music for all abilities. I love that the subscription includes the ability to download back issues too

Great content, horrid delivery. Slowest downloads of any app I’ve ever used. But if you can get it, the content is great. Despite that hassle, I do wish they would offer a back-issue bundle purchase. I would buy them all (and then spend the rest of my life downloading, lol.

Goldmine of knowledge. I have enjoyed this digital magazine for several years and have found it to be a valuable resource. There is still material beyond my skill level, but it will thus continue to provide me material to use as I progress. Thanks to all the people who make this magazine possible!

A treasure trove of information. I am an adult piano student. Discovering this magazine has been a real find. I enjoy this interactive magazine chockfull of helpful and entertaining articles on practice techniques, interesting interviews of accomplished pianists and music pieces for all levels with instructional guidance. Extremely well done!

excellent resource. Pianist is always inspiring, frequently just fun, and almost as educational as private lessons. Five stars.

Great magazine an app.. I love this mag|app, aimed at classical piano students at all levels. I no longer take "live: lessons, so I greatly enjoy lessons in this magazine.

I Love It!. The app is very stable. The magazine is inspiring and well written for pretty much all levels. Having the audio to listen to the scores is a really wonderful feature. I have no complaints at all and highly recommend it.

Doesn't recognize previous version of app or downloads. How dumb can an app be? This new version of the Pianist does not recognize that the previous version exists on the iPad nor any of the previous downloaded issues with all their media. So you have to download again and delete the previous versions separately! There are no instructions suggesting any other way! Pianist, you can do better!

Love Pianist. There is a wide variety of entertainment in each issue. I learn tips from letters to the editor, techniques from the staff, personalities from the featured interviews. However, even without all of that each issue would still be worth the price of the publication if all I got out of it were the 40 pages of scores. The range of difficulty, from beginner to advanced, make these perfect for my sight reading practice, and they have become even better once the editors realized that popular song music is every bit as much music as the classical stuff and started to include popular pieces in the scores. My only criticism is that when they publish something they call a review of pianos, it is a collection of manufacturer's advertising material, hardly a review in the usual sense of the word, and typically only of makes and models that are out of the reach of the average individual. You can read the same material in each manufacturer's website, and believe it or not. If you are a good enough pianist to warrant the purchase of a piano costing north of six figures, you won't do it based on manufacturer propaganda. If you are wealthy enough for the six figure piano but don't play, who cares what the reviews say; it's only a status symbol at that point.

Awesome Magazine. I used to pick up a copy of Pianist at the book store. Now I get it on my iPad Pro. It is an awesome mag/app. Love the links and I watch a lot of their lessons on you tube. I'm a beginner-intermediate senior player. There is just enough levels spread for everyone.

The Magazine is brilliant.... …But the Pocketmags app is absolutely idiotic, clunky, slow and buggy. I’m actually considering cancelling my subscriptions to any magazines because the pocketmaps app is so awful. Every single update makes this app worse and worse. It freezes, it seems to seemingly delete magazines, causing me to have to download them again when you want to read them and does not make for a good reading experience.

Excellent for piano enthusiasts-slow to download. Current app seems to be mind-bendingly slow to dowload an issue. This magazine is very good because of the included scores, the audio and the often excellent articles. Slow to download (even with the new app) but it is very complete.

Learning piano? This is a must read. Especially now that the new tablet edition has arrived making the magazine more intuitively usable on any tablet device.

Awesome magazine for beginner and advanced pianists. I have been a subscriber to Pianist for about a year now and feel that I am qualified to give a review. There is so much to study and learn. From a pedagogical point of view some of the articles are wonderful. It is really inspiring to read about the various concert pianists, their backgrounds and what gave them a desire to learn piano. The pages of sheet music are filled with great piano music ranging from beginner to advanced, and you can listen to the music also. I have an IPad and a PC and can read/listen to the music on both devices. From the point of view everyone who is interested in piano should consider subscribing. PS. The publishers of the magazine have not sent me money in a paper bag to write this review :) Best wishes to everyone. Keep well ad enjoy your musical endeavours.

Nasty Big. I purchased a special number « Piano Techniques », but it is not displayed after download. Only the slogan of pocketmags keeps displaying. Please, fix it. This behaviour happens in IPhone 11 PRO.

Fantastic Tool. This is an amazing magazine/online help for those who are interested in and do play piano. I have recently started playing again after many years and find this a very helpful resource. I haven’t had time to fully enjoy everything in it yet but will soon. Am looking so forward to it!

Very useful resource. As a piano teacher of beginning and intermediate students I always find things of value. The Jazz series is proving very helpful. Thank you. Keep them coming!

Content is tops, but electronic delivery is lacking. As a professional piano teacher, I love the magazine and have read it both in print and with the app. It is interesting and informative for pianists who are playing at an intermediate or advanced level and includes plenty of scores to play and advice on how to learn them. The magazine itself gets five stars. There are are a few things lacking in the app version that keep it from earning full stars in my opinion. First is that the print edition includes a CD with recordings for each of the scores plus a few extra tracks. The app only includes recordings for the scores included with a play button on the top of the first page of the score and - very frustratingly - stops playing when you turn the page, making it impossible to follow the score while listening. The scores are all lumped in the middle, which works well for removing that centre section in the print version, but for the digital edition it would make more sense to put the article on how to learn to play the piece right with the score so that flipping back and forth between the two isn't such a chore. I'd also like to be able to use my Airturn for turning pages. There is a lot more that could be done with dynamic content and links within the digital version as well. Still torn about whether I would rather get the less expensive digital edition (it's a UK based magazine, so getting it across the ocean apparently isn't cheap) or the more expensive but easier to use print version.

Great magazine but playback needs work.. Both the print and digital editions of this magazine are fabulous. However, playback of the sheet music in the iPad version needs work. Currently, the play button for each score only appears on the first page of each piece. Changing pages stops playback, and so it is impossible to follow along to the playback with the sheet music. If the playback simply did not stop when the page is turned is a sufficient fix. Giving transport style control would be the next level. Thanks.

Excellent. Excellent magazine because it covers all the topics of interest to pianists.
