Latest update destroyed primary functionality. I downloaded this app a couple years ago and used it almost daily for its pitch shifting abilities. I have no idea why y’all got rid of that. The new design is clunky and ugly as well. I’m super disappointed with this update, I really hope the pitch change ability is restored soon, otherwise I’m uninstalling.

Amazing practice tool. Worth every penny. I use this song to learn complex drum parts every day. Being able to pull up a song, select a small portion, then slow it down makes really honing in on a part a breeze. You can also upload your own files, so i have been able to upload tracks for all of my bands so I can easily play through an entire set at once. Love it!

Good but needs work. I really appreciate that this app existed since Apple Music refuses to offer a similar feature. After noticing some old favorite music was being unnaturally sped up by ~6% on Apple Music (like Billy Squier’s songs), this app did the trick to fix that. However… Issue: After manual setting the correct playback speed for Squier’s songs in my playlist, I noticed the app would not automatically play the next song. It allow repeating of the same song but would not play through to the next. This should be the expected default behavior and I could find no way to play an entire playlist. I had to tap each song individually to get it to play. Unless I’m doing something wrong, this seems like a serious failing of an otherwise pretty good app. Hopefully this will be fixed.

It’s honestly terrible. The app itself is great. Very user-friendly but the way it slows the music is terrible. It should have sliders for speed and pitch. All it has is tempo making it sound terrible once you get to 20%

Perfect Tempo has potential. I love house & techno, sometimes the tempo they release the tracks is at a lower tempo so this app was the “perfect” solution or so I thought it would be... The app does not crash, I appreciate that. But when I increase the tempo, it distorts the track to the point I will not be using the app, I only increased the tempo 5%. Very specific it is the drums that are being distorted. Fix this please and I will give 5 stars. A track to use as an example: Dennis Cruz - Save the Earth (Groove Mix)

Extremely useful!. This is a highly functional, useful app for slowing down audio for music practice. Little to no artifacts, the audio stays remarkably clear. The UI could use a LITTLE bit of work though—it’s a bit difficult to create and edit loop phrases, and I really wish there was a 15/30 second back button. It’s still extremely useful, and with a few more functionality tweaks, it’ll be perfect.

Works Great. Overall these reviews are harsh and don’t seem fair so I wanted to counterbalance. Perfect Tempo has always worked great for me and does just what it says it will do. I do wish it had the ability to transpose as well, but otherwise it works flawlessly and I’ve used it to teach music, practice my own music, and more! Big fan!

Love this app… still a few glitches though. I’m really enjoying the new set list options! I use this app to practice music. A lot. I’ve found when trying to practice a song in a different key I’m having some issues in set list mode. When I change the pitch on a song I own, switch songs, then go back to the previous one, the pitch shift controls go away (and it’s stuck in the new pitch). The only work around I’ve found so far, is to pick a totally different tune, close the app, reopen it, and then go back to the one with the pitch adjustment… Kind of a pain for now. EDIT: I found a much better workaround to this little glitch… If a song you own is giving you trouble after you transpose it, open Apple Music, play that song for a split second… When you go back to Perfect Tempo, your transposition options magically reappear.

Love this tempo adjustment. I left this speed adjustment for teaching dance! When a song is too fast, it can immediately slow the entire song down… It’s perfect! Love it!

Whole playlists? Please?. I wish you could select entire playlists for this. I don’t want to have to go back to my phone after every song to pick out a new one and speed it up to the same tempo I listened to the previous song at. It’s such a pain, and not worth it!

Great app. I teach clogging and need a good tempo control player...finally found one! This is the best app I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried many. Thank you Perfect Tempo.

My favorite app. It would be great to have 10s back and forward buttons in the playback interface. Would also love an easy way to share feedback with developers. There is sometime a bug setting start and end times for a loop where you can’t set a start earlier than the current start or an end later than the current end. Overall is an amazing app for learning songs on guitar!

Glitches and Crashes with iphone latest updatw. Hello! I use this app to teach ballet classes and i love it, But now that I updated my iphone it is glitchy and very annoying to the point i cant use it without wasting time. The pause/play button doesnt work right, and the app crashes all the time now. Please fix so I can continue using it! Please!

Oh my God. Never do I really write reviews for app but this one is a little different. I listen to hundreds of different genres weekly to provide the most amount of variety. This app adds an entirely new element to that. I’ve been listening to my RnB and Lo-Fi playlist now for HOURS because of this app. Just buy it, oh my goodness

Almost there!. I am a ballet teacher and have been waiting for a music play solution with speed control that I can run from my iWatch. This app is the closest I have found! The only issue is not being able to jump to another song in the playlist from my watch. I have to do that from my phone. Please please please consider adding this feature!

Almost perfect. This app does just what I need it to EXCEPT that it cannot move to the next song on the playlist. I use the app to change the speed of the songs in the fitness class I teach and while I LOVE that it can change the tempo of Apple Music songs, it’s very frustrating to have to change to the next track manually each time. If that feature could be added this would be a five star app!

Good but some surprising omissions. I’m using this app to casually listen to songs at a sped up tempo for workouts. It works but two things would make it an easy 5 star for me: - Autoplay apple music playlists (not having to manually create a setlist from them, which is extra work to create and maintain) - Default tempo for songs, I want to default to 20% instead of having to manually tweak every single one. The apple music integration is otherwise great! Thank you for making!

Great app. Does what it says. Buy it.. I’ve been looking for an app that would slow down Apple Music tracks for years. I use it to learn and transcribe music. This app does it, and does it well. Buy it!

Perfect app. Been using this app for about a year and never review anything. Just a perfect iPhone app for any musician who wants to improve. Beautiful, simple, elegant, gets out of your way. A model app - I wish more apps were this thoughtfully designed. Thank you developers!!

I want my money back. The whole reason I bought this app is to speed up songs via Apple Music for my fitness classes… now that it’s no longer compatible with Apple Music, this app is pointless.

Good but needs improvement. I love this app however it does not go to the next song in my playlist. I need to stop my class in order to play the next song . I would love if the app could play the next songs on the playlist.

Looks nice but lacks a few features.. The app definitely looks nicer than Tempo Magic on an iPad, but it appears to lack a couple of features that I use of tempo magic. I would like to know what the app determines the bpm to be and then prefer to set the app to a particular bpm rather than have to guess what the %change should be. I would also like the ability to export an adjusted file to files so that I can play it on apps that do a better job with playlists. I mostly adjust tempos to match ice dance skating patterns.

Need two new features. Very helpful and intuitive app. Two features will make this much more useful. (1) display the current bpm. (2) ability to export to mp3 if music is already an imported mp3 file or the drm tags allow it. Thanks for considering. This is worth additional payment imho 😊

Worth it. Worth the money! Very easy and simple no downloading or transferring needed def would recommend.

Really wish it would play playlist continually. Really love and enjoy all the features. It would be perfect, if you could set the BPM for each song in a playlist and then the app would play the playlist from start to finish. Any chance of this happening in future updates?

Same as first review. Still No Autoplay option, and not sure the tempo change sticks, after you manually play the next song.

What about a feature to manipulate the pitch. I just got this app today, and I believe that there should be a feature to manipulate the pitch.

Used to be great but doesn’t work right anymore. Update: new update seems to have fixed the problem. Still singing because QA should have caught such an obvious problem. —————- Seems like the author has moved on to other things. No updates in a year. I used to love this app but now it doesn’t respond to play/pause controls, gets them confused, starts on the middle, etc. Quite a disappointment. It has been wonky for quite a while, gotten worse after 14.3. I’m going back to amazing slowdowner which is more reliable and has more functions. ASD is having some oddities too but this is worse. Maybe something wrong with the OS?

A little limited. I use this for running, I like matching my song tempo to my running cadence. I like that you can make playlists, but it drives me crazy that I can’t shuffle them. Please add a shuffle feature. Also, it’d be nice to just pick a BPM for all my songs rather than try and math the percentage increase or decrease for a specific BPM.

Update. This app was great so I could practice songs in different keys and practice harmonizing and now that feature is gone. I bought the app solely for that purpose. Disappointed it wasn’t included in the update and hoping they bring it back.

Amazing. I use it To learn new songs on guitars only complaint I have is that they don’t have this app for the MacBook which would be cool!

Choreographer’s Dream. I am a choreographer and use this app every day while teaching. Slow it down a little (or a lot) at first, and gradually bring it up to full tempo. Such a great tool while teaching!

Music learning tool. Being able to change the tempo in this East to use format is fantastic. I will recommend my students get this app to help them learn by ear

Doesn’t Play Next Song Automatically 🥲. I like the sound quality of the faster tempo songs, but I am trying to listen to outlines that are broken into multiple tracks and this app does not autoplay the next track, which is annoying. The app needs to have autoplay next track at the same tempo option. I wish I had my money back.

Works with Apple Music and it’s legit. I’ve been using perfect tempo for a few weeks to help my learn guitar songs. I follow the tab and slow down the songs on here and I’m able to figure it out. And it works with Apple Music 😁! Like a lot of others that don’t.

What just happened??. After the new update, I can’t play any of my Apple music. That was the whole reason I downloaded, and PAID, for this app. And since most of my music is Apple Music, app has become useless.

Has a way to go.. Too limited to be useful. Loop button doesn’t work, and I can’t change songs with the skip button on my phone lock screen or EarPods. I really hope it becomes more useful. There aren’t many alternatives.

Reduced functionality is a bummer. 2022 review update: super bummer. It does still work with some of my songs but not my playlist that I built, paid for all the songs, and downloaded onto my phone. No longer useful for my running. 2019 review: Was delighted to find this super simple option for matching songs I love to my ideal running cadence. I am happy at 162 bpm but several of my favorite running songs are 158 bpm. After a few days playing with different software including GarageBand, I stumbled across this app! You do have to do a little math but it seems that 2% increase from my playlist is perfect. The interface is simple and familiar, and lets me access my playlist, any of my purchased albums, and Apple Music. It lists everything by song title but you can filter a little. So I set like 9 songs on a playlist, with a mix of original tempo and +2% tempo. The songs keep the choice I made, and there’s a toggle button to “repeat” or “off” or “repeat section”, but even when it’s off it still just plays the same song again. If it would go forward to the next song on the playlist, I’d like it better. As it is, I’ll have to mess around with my phone to manually choose the next song. Luckily they’re each pretty long!

Add back repeat whole song option. Please add back the repeat whole song option. I really liked it when there was the option to have repeat whole song and a repeat section option. This way I can toggle between playing a whole song and just practicing one section of it. With the update I have to reset the section portion each time I want to just have the whole song repeated. And if I want to practice the section I have to set it up again which just takes way too much time.

Dream Come True!. After Tempo Magic stopped having the ability to play apple music, I couldn’t find any apps that would do the same- speed up the music for cardio and workouts. THIS APP IS A DREAM!! 💯💯💯

Good but I was looking for more. I like the app but it doesn’t suit my needs. I can understand and overlook the slight change in sound when the tempo is adjusted. I can work with that. What I thought it could do was sync the whole playlist to the same tempo. I wanted to use it for a fitness class. But I will just go back to the way I was doing it and live with the slight changes in tempo for each song. If you ever add that feature, I would use it all the time.

One of the best apps in the App Store. This is a jewel of a program. It’s the only app I’ve found that will easily speed up and preserve the sound integrity of songs in my Apple Music library. Unlike other programs, I don’t have to bother with all the fuss of downloading / importing songs into the program. Plus many programs I’ve used won’t work with DRM-protected files. I can’t express how useful all that makes the app in practical terms. This app has given new life to so many of the “tired” songs in my library that seem to have lost their spark from repeated plays. I’ve been searching for an app like this for a long time and I’m so glad I found this. Kudos to the developers and a huge “thank you!” for your achievement!

Regretting. Just have a few songs and discover you need to re-do the tempo speed every time on each song. Have to stop doing my routine for every song... aahhhhh! Hope you guys fix this problem soon.

Would like to see Beats Per Minute. Happy I found this app but would love to see the BPM of the songs too.

Awesome App but.... This app is awesome for those songs that need to be sped up to fit a party type setting..However it would be perfect if the controls would be like Apple Music’s..It’s missing the Skip buttons and it would be great if you can have the “Play next” or “Play later” feature just like Apple Music has.

Screwed. If you are from the era that liked music chopped and screwed you will play with this for hours. It does a great job of not just slowing down or speeding up but it seems to do it so smoothly it sounds as if that’s how it was recorded originally. I like this one. Don’t know exactly what it’s good for but it earned its spot on my phone.

Lame. Why make an app that won’t allow you to use Apple Music. When Apple Music is the only means of getting songs to play on an iPhone. If that was going to be the case later on down the road, meaning now. The situation make one wonder, what was the whole point in purchasing the app

Loop problem. Please look at your app and resolve the loop issue

Exactly what I’ve been looking for. It doesnt change pitch, it can access music through Apple Music without issues, and is easy to use. Love it

The playback speed is adjusted... But.... I was planning on using this to listen to an audio book. I could add files to the playlist, but it stopped playing at the end of each file... And the playback speed was reset to 100%. Unfortunately not suitable for long trips in the car.

Perfect App. Does exactly what I hoped it would. Well worth the price.

I love it but it freezes. Love this app, use it constantly but it does freeze (I have to close and reopen the app) if you change the tempo or want to skip forward/ backward/ change tempo. I’d give it 5 stars if this glitch was fixed.

Valuable for any professional musician or student. Excellent app. It has been extremely valuable to me. I highly recommend it to my colleagues and students. 2 things lacking for me to give it 5-stars: - The user-interface is not great for scrolling through long recordings. I’ve got a huge iPad screen, yet the progress bar is very small, making it hard to pinpoint exact locations in long recordings. - No Spotify integration Please keep up the excellent work, and I hope to rate you 5-stars on a future update.

Great app but.... Since the update, the loop feature does not work properly anymore.. It just won't repeat anymore :/

Essential for musicians!. Wow - this App has a deceptively simple user interface, but packs a punch with such sophisticated machinery driving it! It blows my mind how the developers managed to keep the quality of the sound so good, while also enabling the user to scale between a large range of transpositions and speeds. Absolutely great app, essential for any musician. As a University music lecturer, I can honestly say this App will become an essential part of my teaching and research toolkit.

Good tool. But let down by the flakey looper. It does not work well at all on my iPad mini

DRM. I don't see on the product page anything about the app not able to play DRM tracks such as those from Apple Music. Most of my music is Apple Music and so the app will not work. For the songs it will play it works FANTASTICALLY. Am I missing something? Is there a way to play all tracks in my music library as it states in app description?

Doesn’t Work. The app does not display any of my songs when I am prompted to select one. It shows my playlist list, I select a playlist, then none of my songs are shown. It really is super disappointing because the app has potential. But I can’t actually use it. I use apple music and I’m super disappointed that this app doesn’t work.

Useless. Crash on launch 😡

Does not work. Tells me it works with my music library. When I tap on "get started" it shows only a few songs and then when I click on any of those songs it tells me that the song is not compatible with the app. So --- IT DOES NOT WORK. I WANT MY MONEY BACK

Why?. I honestly am so confused as to the point of this app and why they want money for it. I had bought it in a bundle so was hoping for something worth it. It has two functions, both of which are fairly basic, no options to export the edited versions, and it doesn’t work with Apple Music. I can see no expecting new versions to save if it could actually work with Apple Music. Please no one waste money on this.

Excellent app. I was looking for this for a long time. The Only app that let me play my Apple Music. I would loved thou to be able to change the speed by BPMs and not only by percentages. Maybe in a next version ??

Great for line dancing. This a nice app for learning line dancing. Easily lets you slow down a song, limit playback to just a section of the song and save a setlist. I create a setlist made up of the same song played at different speeds. I would love to also be able to save the loops. The way of setting the loop start and end can be finicky and easily messed up. It would be nice to see a waveform of the song to help with setting the endpoints of loops. I’m able to use both my Apple music and my own music files. Thanks for a nice app at a reasonable price,

Great. I use it for vocal exercises and music practice. I am able to change the tempo and pitch, I enjoy.. The only improvement i'd like to in the future is key change being greater than 6 octaves..

Doesn’t work very long.. We loved the app for about 3 weeks. It did struggle if I stopped a song midway and tried to restart again, but other than that it was really helpful. Now when I open it I either get a blank screen or none of my songs are linked so it won’t do anything. Very frustrating. Don’t buy this app. Would love to get my money back.

Was great until they removed Apple Music. I used this all the time to practice along with recordings. The only reason I got it was because it was compatible with Apple Music. Now I guess I don’t need either. Apple sucks…

Almost. In need of an update though. It does a nice job of changing key and tempo but the loop button doesn't work. Also it only can access tunes that have been downloaded to your device. It will not see anything on iCloud. There hasn't been an update in almost a year. Please fix the loop button.

Works but not great. This is ok as a practice tool only, and not great for the price. When you change the pitch of the song it gets really warbly. Guitar sounds like banjo. However for practice it is ok.

Cool app. Please add more accurate scrubbing through the track And Please add the ability to set loop markers within a track. Thank you!

Loop Button is broken…. The loop button doesn't work anymore. The song plays once, then doesn't play again, even is the loop button is on. please fix this problem, thank you.

Iwatch. Great app, would love to be able to change tracks on my iwatch would. This would really make this app useful for teachers to stay engaged with their students!

scam app. ‘Cannot be played in Highnote - songs with DRM such as those from apple music are locked and cannot be played” ethics and decency would have mandated a cautionary warning in the description. enjoy my $3, and eat a bag of dix. also, thanks apple for featuring this app that doesn’t work with itunes - just another classy move...

That's more like it!. 2.1 fixed most of the issues in 2.0. I would like to be able to select the track by tapping on the album art in the top left corner, similar to in v.1. Otherwise, glad to see the improvements!

Don’t buy. I paid 4.99 for something I can just as easily do on YouTube, total waste of money. I don’t like to just be negative so I’ll say that this app has potential but it needs work, the audio compression needs to be better at lower tempos and I think it would be nice to have other effects like maybe down tuning or up tuning ect. Not terrible but like I said you can get this effect on YouTube.

Does exactly what I need. I've got a lower voice than most of the artists whose songs I like. As a result, sometimes it's hard to sing along belt out the tunes, because there are parts I just can't hit. This app let's me easily drop the pitch to a key more manageable for me. Also changes tempo simply, but I haven't had need for that feature.

Great for practicing music. Makes it easy to analyze what is going on in a recording, or to play along at a more comfortable speed.

Wont show music. My app wont display any of my music. It just says playlist and when i click on it it still doesnt have my music.

You broke a good app. I loved this app before you updated. Now 100% is twice as fast as the original and I can't play at the 50% tempo because it is too fast. The app doesn't go lower than 50%. I am so frustrated. Please fix or bring back the wonderful version.

Nope.. For an outrageous cost of five dollars, I expected more. You could do this and more with almost any other app, at a fraction of the cost if there even is one. Not worth my time or money.

Very poor planning and very very limited usefulness. Can you tell me when the app will work with Apple music properly?

Can't save or email the track. why can't I email the track to myself after mixing my chosen track? especially for a $5 value.
