Learning lao app. i give this app a 4 star review because most of the apps i try to find, mostly cost money and it’s hard to find any but this is the right one but the reasons why i gave one away is because only one of them lets the person play but the rest will be money and it’s hard to ask you ASIAN parents to get an app just to learn some simple lao.

Awesome app for learn a language. I’m really impressed with this app. I’ve studied many languages in my life and find that this app makes it very easy to learn and reinforce what you have learned in a very effective way. I’m looking forward to learning another language with the help of this program. It is well worth the money for the premium. I wish I could share with my family without having to repurchase for them. Family sharing does not work with this app as it has in app purchases. It’s an awesome app that I will recommend to my family and friends despite.

Horrible. I hate this stupid app and my mom makes my do it everyday and I haven’t learned a single word, I hate it!!!!!!!! Jk

Cool. It’s awesome that you guys are providing sooo many languages including Africans languages. Most apps neglect African languages and only stick to standard European, Asian, middle eastern, and Latin American languages. I’m Nigerian and my language is yoruba and it’s hard to find that on an app especially when trying to perfect my language. I’m glad it’s not on every app because I don’t want everyone to easily learn my language and understand what I say but I’m glad that this app is so inclusive. What makes me upset is what u have to pay. It’s dumb. Why pay so much just to learn. We should not have to pay to learn. Do premium yeah but for regular learning? Really?! Again that makes me a thad bit happy because it makes it even harder for ppl to learn my language but still. I’m tryna use the app tf.

Utalk. Horrible!! Not worth a penny.. Very little words and simple words most anyone already may know.. Like numbers, hello, goodbye.. Nothing more. Everyday words; table, store, foot...etc.. it doesn't have. Nothing to learn from this app This app is still horrible when it comes to speaking / translating Sicilian! The words aren’t all there and many come back as a blank box meaning it can’t find the correct word to translate English to Sicilian too. Sicilian isn’t Italian - it is two different languages! And the app doesn’t and can’t translate Sicilian!

Rip off. I bought the premium option but still would have to pay more to access the uTalk go special sections? 99 cents each for an additional $16 -DOUBLE the price when it said buying premium unlocks all sections.

Four stars but one critique. Overall I felt like my little test run with the app went smoothly. The fact that so many languages are offered makes this an absolute gold mine especially for someone wanting to learn more African languages like myself. Keep up the good work and expand on the offerings and make things more robust. My one critique, is that the Easy Game of Tigrinya that I played went well but I didn’t have an English translation of what the words were. So aside from very obvious things like numbers or a glass of water I didn’t know what I was saying exactly. If all of the languages had an English (or whatever the learners language is) translation of what is being said it would really make this a top choice Language app overall. I do however love that words are written out phonetically in English. Of course, I only did the free trial game so there’s no telling what the paid versions have. Btw, making this a Duolingo style app with the choice of subscription would also be great. I just wanted to relay that critique. Love the app overall. Keep up the good work.

Great sound and appearance, UI needs work. This is a fairly nice app. The sound of the speech is clear. The interface looks nice and is responsive. However, it is not always intuitive how to use it in different sections. Instructions would be helpful. Another helpful feature would be to save the language that you are currently studying so you do not have to select it each time.

Love the app & variety. Great app to get an overview of a new language. I like the interface and great selection. It’s a nice quick reference and I enjoy learning little bits daily. My only suggestion would be to selectively restore content if needed. For instance I have purchased 3 languages but only want to restore 2. Another option would be the ability to delete language packs if desired? Cheers!

Active learning. I like the style of learning this app offers. It makes you actually practice so that hopefully you won’t always need to use it. It’s how people used to learn languages before google! Plus the games are fun.

It helps teach languages. I really love this app because lt helps my kids learn languages one of my kids wants to learn all languages of the world and that’s why I love this app so much.

No Standard Tibetan. I see Dzongkha is offered, but I’m looking for Standard Tibetan. You guys have a Tibetan language app but it does not have anywhere near the amount that Dzongkha does. Do you plan on adding Tibetan to this app?

Updated review. I just downloaded this. I purchased premium. The payment was immediately deducted from PayPal but I didn’t get access. Very disappointed. Updated review. Their server was down. Helps special needs w/native language.. Fun for all - disabled and non disabled.

I love it. My husband is Laotian and his whole family speaks Lao. There is no Rosetta Stone for Lao and my husband is not a “teacher” so I decided I wanted to learn so I could communicate with the family and hopefully pass along some culture to our children. I started with the free version and checked the pronunciation and translation with him (native speaker) and when they were spot on and very proper, I upgraded to the full version and I LOVE it. There are so many words, very useful selection with matching images. I haven’t played the games yet with the full version but so far I am beyond impressed. I can’t wait to incorporate a few minutes of Lao practice a day and surprise my in-laws at the next gathering!

So far so good.. I just started and I like it so far. Hopefully it stays helping. I like how it starts free and you can buy upgrades instead of just a trial period while your still getting use to the app then you have to either pay or delete it so you don’t get charged.

Absolutely amazing app. I like how the app doesn’t forcefully teach you the same things and words over and over again. Using our own voices to learn and recognize words is also very helpful.5 stars and good work!

Highlighted phrase is off by a line. This is a great app to Learn Lao, but when you click on a phrase or word that you would like to learn, the program highlights the word above the phrase being said/shown. This is very confusing for my daughter. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Great For Military. I was just starting to learn Bulgarian and was surprised to see a few of the topics were military related which was amazing to have access to that kind of vocabulary and learn it right alongside the rest of the language.

Love utalk Go better then the reg utalk. I like that you can purchase your preferred language course for a flat fee of $20 instead of paying a monthly subscription plus the layout is better.

Amazing app!!!!!. I have been looking for an app that has Urdu in it, but none did. It is a great app for people who speak at all levels and is a great exercise for the mind! My kids love it and it's a fun game to play. No doubt about it you should by this app!!!👍🏾

Great but needs romance. Hey it looks like your Afrikaans course is great, nice vocabulary (got the premium) love the learning style. One thing your app is sorely lacking is a romance category, a must-have for anyone single or taken. I only took off one star because you guys did a nice job with the voice actors. Really nice hearing native speakers. Please add a dating/romance section!! Otherwise we be out here sounding like google translate ᕦ(Ò_Óˇ)ᕤ

Amazing but one major flaw. So basically I really wanna be a linguist and duolingo has like 30 something languages but I wanted more, so I got this app and it’s amazing! There are enough words to learn some basics, once again, wanted more than just 11 words, so I got all 36 topics, but it only bought it for 1 language, if you can, please fix this! But overall, if you wanna study many languages at once, this app is for you!!

Good app but you need to update. The app is good but after the latest iOS update 13.1.2 the YouTalk specials no longer work. Nothing but a blank screen. Adding up points is useless.

Recall and memory exercise should be different. I am picking up a lot of new words. I recognize the phrases and pictures , but the memory and recall should be different. I find my self trying to remember where the pictures that disappear were and translating, instead of thinking in Basque and recognizing what I hear with the picture I see. This is my only criticism; otherwise, not bad. I also use Duolingo to learn another language. Duolingo doesn’t have Basque. I got a message from developer today. I am a language teacher. I disagree that the memory game is meant to make you think in the language. It is simply a memory game, and it doesn’t help.

This app is awesome!. This helps me learn many different languages it’s awesome. So I was born English and this app lets me learn all the possible languages. This is much better then asking google, Alexa, and Siri how to say something in Japanese. If you are looking for an app that teaches you languages, this is the one for you. Great Variety and is Accurate!!. This app is the first app that I have seen with Malayalam as an option and for it to be accurate and helpful. There aren’t many with these accomplishments. I have been trying to learn Malayalam for years since part of my family is from Kerala, and this is actually helping me. I checked in with my family and they say that it is accurate. So far, no complaints!

Not bad beginning. I have learned plenty from this app, but needs some improvement; some of the phrases said by the male in Amharic are quite different than the female recording, this makes it hard to sort what is correct pronunciation. I have Ethiopian friends that also say often, “that’s not right”. I hope in the future additional every day used sentences are added. Update: I was contacted to provide specifics what is wrong pronunciation, I’m not. I’m not going to develop someone’s application. But I will tell you there is 3 ways in Amharic to say please1. To female Ebakesh 2. To male Ebakeh 3. Formal or elder respectfully Ebakewot. Many of the words on the app address speaking in conversation to males. It’s a good app for very basic beginners but I still give it 3 stars

Useful. I love this app. It's helped me work on my tonal pronouncements in a very tonal language. I can finally say husband with out accidentally swearing! Only issue is I recently attempted to put app in folder and now it forever says loading without going anywhere. Worried about uninstalling and then having to repurchase language. Web site didn't really address, anyone know if I uninstall will it make me re-buy the language?

Good for sneaking in practice. Good for sneaking in a bit of practice on the bus/plane/train etc. dies suffer from some volume issues (varies mid word sometimes) and from some if the pictures being hard to decipher but on the whole a good app for "extra" practice.

Great for Learning Malagasy. Used this app extensively for learning Malagasy. Nothing else as good available for Malagasy that I've seen

She's a beauty.. As someone learning over 15 languages and counting, this is the most beautiful app I have ever laid eyes on. This is the perfect starting point for my linguistic endeavours and was very helpful as a guide to the local language, of sorts, during my two-week trip to Cambodia.

Learning Fijian. I have been using uTalk for a couple of weeks to learn Fijian. Super easy learning format. I like how the app uses a native Fijian man and woman to pronounce each word/phrase!

Good but-. Look, the app is good, it teaches you a lot but you have to pay to be a pro, I just want to learn French and it only helps me with the basics, I do t want to pay to learn a couple words. Make it free or otherwise just put the price lower. If any developers are reading this please put the price lower beacause it doesn’t teach me much

Easy start to a language. This provides the sound, spelling and a picture aid for the simple words. Plus games. Great app! Have to pay for the levels above basic but you know what you get will be usefully presented.

A bit offended. This is a really good app, and it's very interesting! Keep going and I'm thinking of upgrading! But theirs one problem, when I went on to Australian English I was offended. You really need to change, "g,day mate" because you are doing a disservice to your users. Nobody says that at all, and if someone is actually using your app for its true purpose, and they come to Australia they will be very embarrassed. Every Aussie looks at those Americans/Brits that say that because we sure don't! And sure, there might be some Aussies that say that out back but all tourists come to the city right? You may as well change thank you in America-English to pass me more bacon bro! So please do change that because your making it seem more humorous then necessary. I apologise if I exaggerated but I'm really sick of all these Americans thinking of Australia as Kangaroos and boomerangs!

Cannot afford premium for greek. I wish to learn greek, but unfortunately I can only choose basics... good app though, just wish it had more free options.

Purchases disappear. I’ve purchased the premium Latvian package, but it’s not accessible. I can’t even buy it again because it says I already have it! The games are good and it’s a good way to learn, but I wasted over $30 on something I can’t use!

Nepali App. I bought the Nepali language app, it's a good app but there are a few mistakes and a lot of the words are spoken in English - which kind of defeats the purpose of learning the words in Nepali. I know for certain that some of the words said in English do indeed have Nepali words. Some words are not read accordingly (in the right order). Overall it's a great app, but I would prepare to get an update for this Nepali app because I feel like I'm learning English. I'd rather not have those words in there. It's a waste of time listening over to English words when you are trying to learn another language.

Not happy. I purchased the premium Maltese pack and it debited my card but I could not open it from anywhere. I'm going to report it to fraud.

Are you having a laugh. Just downloaded Scots Gaelic app and got this one for free. Put on Scots and was pretty offended. It's not even a language. It's English words said in a stupid Scottish accent. Im sure the other languages are ok but this has to be removed. Bit of a joke.

Love it!. Easy to use, challenging and allows you to go back to previous games to help with remembering or just refreshing. Games make the learning fun, also very helpful support staff who are eager to help with any enquiries :)

Great. Easy to use, fun, well picked words and phrases with good audio. No complaints.

Good App but customer support lacking. Asked for customer support why some examples of images don't have English words to advise what the certain images are. Since some pictures can be interpreted as different things to different people. Advised they couldn't help and that's how it is. Not good enough. Otherwise a very simple and easy to use language learning up.

Don’t buy. You seriously have to pay money just to learn $30 what a rip off! I’m not gonna pay that much money for a language speaking app. I want to practice free this should be related much lower.

Love this app but a little bit expensive. This app is great as I am learning Maltese and this is the only app that teaches it. This app also has a wide range of other languages that not many other apps offer. I finished the starter words which was very helpful but I am not willing to pay $20 for the next course and I found a more extensive course elsewhere (finally) but if your willing to pay this app is great. I also understand that $20 dollars isn’t much for some people but I am a school student so a little much for me considering what I found elsewhere. But I do recommend this app for starting off another language.

Russian UTalk Premium. One of the best Russian learning apps I have found! Great games for memorisation, covers good range of vocabulary, (social phrases, alphabet, numbers, holidays, business, food & drink, to name only a few!) and is fun. Would suit a wide range of learning styles, as it has visual, audio, and interactive activities. For listening, the Audio component spoken by both male and female and can be slowed down in the practise section. Also records your spoken words so you can compare how you actually sound, rather than how you think you sound. Worth every dollar if you're investing time in learning a new language!! I have been very happy with this purchase, I found it to be a fantastic starting tool for learning a variety of basic Russian phrases and words.

Don't upgrade to this site.. Stick with utalk classic, far better site. uTalk Go will try to charge you again for anything more than a few words. Already paid for uTalk classic but once you upgrade you can't open that site. Feel like I've been mislead and ripped off.

Horrible latin. Latin voices have huge English accent. This is horrible. Even if they speak it "right", their English accent is pretty noticeable. Best Latin is spoken by people speaking Latin based languages like French, Spanish, Italian etc. Some English speakers can too. But not those speaking on that app no matter the answer from the developer.

Waste of time and money!. 140 Languages is your selling point, but it's totally pointless. What's the point in having over 140+ languages of each of them cost an arm and leg? Even worse, you're only given a list of words and pictures and that's it. No sentences, grammar explanations, no dialogues, no listening comprehensions. In the real world, that's how languages are learnt! I'd rather pay $10-15 a month for a complete language course with all the features mentioned above that's available in 5 languages, than a half-baked list of words in over a hundred languages...such as what babbel, duolingo, busuu is doing.

Not to impressed. I don't need photos and games. I need the English word and the written in the language I want to learn there is no way in hell I would pay $10 for the upgraded version. But there is a lot of selection not just English French German Chinese and Russian. Great selection bad format.

Great kickstart to learning a language. This is a great app to learn lots of terms quickly. The little games also keep it fun, and the points system is a great way to see how much I’ve learned. The only thing is, I got a new phone and I am having trouble restoring my purchases. That is the only frustrating thing I’ve come across.

Great so far. I just downloaded this app today to learn a bit of Macedonian and Georgian... really beautiful app design and I think I will be able to learn well from this app. That being said, and I really do hope the developers see this because this is an important part of learning any language, I think, I would find it very helpful to include a literal word-for-word translation along with the phrase. For example learning Mongolian, you get all these seemingly random words and letters and I would just like to understand what purpose each part of the phrase serves, rather than just memorizing specific phrases. I will continue to use this app of course! I only wish it didn’t cost money because I can’t really afford it but I understand it has to make money somehow. Overall great app and I look forward to seeing more improvements!

Brilliant way to learn a new language. I am learning Scottish Gaelic and it’s actually sticking. How exciting. And it’s fun!

It is fine. When you want to learn more things you need the stars of money, but it is very hard to earn enough stars at once with one language, so you”d have to switch around.the site itself is pretty good.

It can't be restore do not download. Impossible to restore. Once you pay no money back. Do not use this app there is other people who experience the same problem.

Impossible to restore your purchase. It's a good but expensive app. I bought this app on my iPad and would expect to be able to restore the app on my iPhone. But it doesn't allow me. I also read that other users can't restore the app on the same devise they bought it. For the price of the app I would expect a better service. It seems that once they got your money, they don't want to help you anymore!

Love it, very useful. I love this update - it provides 16 new modules for specialized topics such as skiing and golf. They can be purchased or unlocked through achievements, which is a nice motivator. Also, the review exercise was improved to make learning more efficient. Very useful update!

Good app but there's a problem. It is a good app to learn foreign languages especially for international students but I couldn't restore purchases saying that check your internet connection or displaying "downloading" for an endless while. It is a big problem because even though your purchases are still unavailable, your money has already spent. This is a quite good app but it is not useful until it gets fixed.

Great Program. This is a great way to learn a language. It's convenient to open the app when you bored and learn. It teaches you with hearing and speaking, and the games are helpful. I have 2 languages and when I'm done learning those, I plan to download more!

Catalan works great for me. While this app isn't as deep as Duolingo, it's simpler approach allows it to do less popular languages, which is great for me. Duolingo doesn't offer Catalan.

Disappointed in the new update !. When I purchased the app a few weeks ago, I only wanted one language, was very happy with it as it had a lot of options for that one language, with the current update, it has piles of languages, but the one specific language I originally bought has so few options !! To get all the options I originally I had I now need to purchase again. Very unhappy 😡😡😡 Wish I could restore my original purchase and not the update

Huge selection of languages!. It's become a staple alongside my workbooks and training tapes. I'd like to see it developed to compete with DuoLingo, but the fact that uTalk has support for obscure languages convinced me to buy. I don't think the audio recording part of uTalk is as good as it should be. It often cuts off the first word in my recordings. Also, the design looks and feels outdated compared with modern apps. I would recommend it, especially if it's the only choice for the language you need, but I think it will have to be redesigned soon. Right now all the language apps supplement each other, but in the future they'll offer the same features and cover all the same bases. And DuoLingo looks and feels better overall.

Excellent!. This is the best app I've found for learning Icelandic. It's worth every penny. The only thing it needs is a section for articles and pronouns.

Great for Beginners. This app is a great way to immerse yourself into a number of different words and phases conveniently divided into categories for everyday use. Do not expect this to teach you everything. It's great for building your vocabulary, but you'll need to get your grammar and person/tense lesson somewhere else.

The app I was waiting for. There are so many languages here. I've been waiting for an app like this to learn Cebuano. This app is addicting and keeps language learning fresh. It's nice to learn fun facts about the world as well. The memory game is good for training your brain too.

glitches. this app is very glitchy i spent $20 to get the premium version of a language and i got back into the app and it was gone and said that there was a problem with the purchase but the money still came out of my account

Pretty good. Pretty good, but you need some. We basic improvements: 1 - Allow users to highlight problem words, to create their own lesson. Then all the words we have trouble remembering can be in one place, and we can study those. 2 - When teaching sentences, tell us what each word means. Don't just give us a full sentence and the translation. How does that help us learn the language?

If you have more than one language on your list, their should be a study option where ALL languages can be studied at the same time. You'll get random phrases and words from the languages purchased. It'll make studying more challenging and interesting. The algorithm will continue drilling you on the wrong answers, so that won't change. And it'll indicate what language it is. 2. More related sentences/words one might use in the country itself. 3. More words like, spoon, fork, etc. 4. More sentences. 5. This might not happen, but simple grammatical explanations that can't be ignored. That's all for now. I could only see this app getting better... I hope. Great job, guys!

Not bad at all!. Those pictures are high quality, not mecanical voice, fun game. but the price is a little expensive... you have to pay about $19 each language you want to learn. I purchesed anyway, so I'll keep use this one though.

Not free. There are only a few free words and then they want money. I have found better apps that give a lot of free lessons before offering upgrades or premium lessons at cost.

Great but expensive. Has so many languages! I downloaded because I'm learning Bosnian and it's one of the only apps that teaches that language, plus hundreds more (literally). It is really helping me learn and is really useful and productive. Simply, it works. The only problem is the price. You only get one lesson in each language free, and you have to pay for more. It's expensive, but still extremely effective.

great for kids. i couldn’t communicate with my little brother for three years! i got this app to teach him simple phrases in zulu and it works like a charm! would def recommend for kids

Could be better. I'm trying to learn Latvian so I can speak to my friend who knows it fluently (she can talk in English fluently too) but all I can get for free are basic words. $15 is way to much.

Limited. I am studying Telugu. Unfortunately, there is reliance upon English words being substituted for the Telugu words far more than necessary. It is true a lot of English words are being used by Telugu speakers these days. But this program uses the English excessively.

Wow. I'm surprisingly pleased with this app! I downloaded it expecting to not find the language I wanted to learn (Tigrinya) and to my surprise they had it, and on top of that it is actually very accurate! My mother has corrected a few things that I would try to tell her, but for the most part the best $17 I've spent!

Nice app. This is an awesome app. The only problem is that in the section about the place where the language you're learning is spoken, everything is in that language, not the language you speak. So you have to guess what everything means, which isn't allways easy.

Best language app. What the title said! At least rate 4 stars. I'm aiming to learn Greek. I don't know what I would do without it. At least 100 languages! That's insane! Some languages I don't even know what country the languages came from!

Great update. So happy I can have this full screen on my iPad now! Love the new look too. I haven’t had any problem updating my previous purchases - they took a couple of minutes to update but were all there.

It's too picture dependent. I hope you don't plan on writing in any foreign language you intend to learn from this. It depends way too heavily on pictures. It's fine if you're combining it with other language learning software i.e. Duolingo, Memrise, and Mango, but alone? Forget about it.

Let us choose words!. I want so very badly to give this five stars, and if an update comes out with just one feature, I'll give it SIX stars. Believe me, I'll find a way. Here's the feature: let us select some of the terms and just play all the games from our selected list. I have hunted and hunted for that feature, and if it exists, I'm baffled how to find it. But I bought this app to learn some survival language for a mission trip with a conservative, teetotaling Christian group, but the app is forcing me to practice the phrase for "Two beers please." Let me choose which terms I need and only practice those, and I will be thrilled with this app. And if that already exists, make it easier to find.

Great for more obscure languages. It's awesome for Urdu, as I haven't found another app that does the same. However, for long phrases, the transliteration is cut off. I'd recommend a scrolling ability back and forth to accommodate the whole transliteration.

Excellent support. I really like the uTalk app. It's one of the very few language apps that offers Slovenian. I also had trouble restoring my purchases after an iPhone upgrade, but I emailed support and they got back to me quickly and had me up and running again in no time. Now if I could only be so quick with my language retention.

Great. This is an amazing app! Basically, all my dreams come true as. Language learning app. Unfortunately, to get all the languages in their complete form, you have to pay $15! That is very expensive for an app in m opinion, although I still may buy it to get all it's benefits. Besides having to pay so much, this would be an amazing app!

Fantastic introduction to languages. This app is wonderful if you are a beginner learner. I have been using the Spanish language one, and l am very pleased with it. It is designed in a way to help you retain what you learn as the tutoring is interactive . I love it, my confidence has increased. There are like 25 lessons. You still of course need more, it is not a magic pill, but it is a very nice foundation. Worth it.

Good app. This a good app to learn some basics of Malaysian

Too difficult, not good for beginners. I downloaded this for the Khmer language. This is really just a flash card system disguised as an app. Some cards have full sentences that are quite long and you don't get any help with each syllable. Each flash card set is about 40 cards, which is too many, since each card may a full sentence. If they chopped each set down to about five cards it might be manageable. This app is too difficult for beginners. Might be useful for people who have already learned the language and might need a refresher. I wish they had Pimsleur Khmer.

It's a rip-off. I paid the $10 for this app because it is one of the only language apps that includes Haitian Creole. It only gave me six words that I could learn, and it's another $10-$15 for more. Six words of a hundred different languages isn't all that useful. If you are truly trying to study a language, you're going to have to pay more than you expected.
