No Pause Option. Thankfully Learfield/Sidearm Sports has given us a GoHeels app with streaming of games. However, there is no pause option for syncing the audio with the TV broadcast as the HDTV broadcast is well behind the app audio. A pause button would allow for matching the audio with the television, thereby increasing the use of this app - something I would think Learfield/Sidearm Sports would want. Please update soon.

Go Heels. This used to be one of my favorite apps. I could listen to the Heels where ever I happened to be. I didn’t have to worry if I could find them on the radio. But this year, you have to keep the app open, or you loose audio. So if you want to answer a call, text, or your phone goes to sleep, the audio cuts off. This needs to change back to how it was originally. Like, I couldn’t write this review while listening to a game. Also, it would be helpful if you were able to sync it with the tv broadcast.

Improving!!. The latest version of the app is finally in the same time zone. Best GoHeels yet!! A lot of good information about the types of people the kids are. It links the fan store easily. Keep improving!!!!! We are with you!! Tarrrrr........HEELS!!!!!!!!

Great App!. If you’re a Tar Heels fan you’ll want this! It’s great to be able to catch the games with Jones Angel and crew no matter where I am when I don’t have access to a TV or radio! I love the new feature that shows the traffic updates around the venues as well! GO TAR HEELS!

App Is Useless!!. I have tickets for todays game and cannot get the stupid app to function at all! It won’t let me create and account or login. UNC Athletics, shame on you! It’s 2024 and you have one of the best athletic programs in the country but can’t produce a functioning app!! Pathetic.

Great information about a great school. If you want up to date info, this is the perfect app for all things CAROLINA!

Only Crashes. This used to be a great app and really useful, but I can’t even get it to open anymore. At first I thought it was being overloaded with users during games. But nope - no matter when I try, the app opens for one second before immediately crashing.

FIX THE APP. I love this app because it allows me to listen to UNC Basketball and Football broadcasts, but i hate it because ever since an update from around the start of basketball season, the broadcast FREEZES EVERY 5-10 MINUTES while listening. It used to work great without any crashes, but ever since the update has been very annoying to use. I love hearing Jones Angell's calls but sometimes it's not even worth it because of always having to close and re-open the app. Please fix this app and get it working the way it used to!

Notifications don’t work. The notifications for the game start don’t work anymore.

Constantly crashes. The app takes forever to open and it crashes almost every time I use it. I was in the middle of listening to a game and it just stopped. It also logged me out and when I try to reset my password it fails and says to try again or contact support. You would think such a popular school would have a better app.

App No Longer Works. I used to use this app a lot, but now it no longer works. It brings up the splash screen, but then sends me back to IOS screen. I've updated to latest version of the app which seems to be source of problem. My only support recourse is this review.

Please fix the audio. Recent changes in last year make the app audio shut off when the iPhone screen fades to black. Have to hold my hand on the screen to keep audio playing. Especially frustrating when listening to radio show. Please fix!

Used to be great but terrible after the new version. Please give me back the old version. After the version updated, the app crashes randomly when listening to the live broadcasts. Even emailed Learfield 2 weeks ago advising about the issue but no reply. Terrible!

FIX IT!. For the love of all things Carolina Blue, please fix this app. It used to be ok, but with the new update, it’s absolutely horrible. The app freezes randomly, cuts off, glitches when listening to Jones call the basketball games. Please fix it before the next game.

It’s fine but streaming needs work. The streaming section of the app is buggy and there is no ability to fast forward or rewind on demand content. If I'm listening to a coaches show on demand I do not need to hear the two minutes of pre-broadcast.

Something wrong. I keep trying to stream the games and 1) the app freezes up after about 10 minutes and 2) my phone gets very hot after streaming the audio. It is draining the battery like crazy.

Great. App catches me up on everything that I missed or informs me about things that will happen in the future.

App needs improvement. Can’t listen to the games since the app crashes every few minutes. This app makes my phone get very hot. Only app that does that. Needs work.

Good app. In game stats could be a better version for live tracking, and consistent with others’ comments, losing audio when phone goes to sleep is tough to handle.

Excellent— But. Turns off with the screen saver__ at least the radio broadcast should stay on.

App randomly shuts off, can’t listen to games. I used to take walks while listening to games, but now with this revamped app, it the audio quits on me randomly after 5-10 minutes, so I have to reopen the app and start the broadcast again. Extremely annoying. please fix

Used to be great, now, not so much.. This app used to be great but now the audio stops when the screen goes to sleep. Fix that problem and it’ll be great once again. I used to enjoy this app because it allowed me to listen to games even when I was out of the area. Now it’s pretty much a waste of time because who wants to sit there and keep messing with the screen so the audio continues. I’m usually trying to do something while I’m listening to the Heels but now you’ve made that impossible. Please fix this. Does anyone even pay attention to these reviews? Several people have made the same complaint about the audio and nothing has been done and to the best of my knowledge not a single person has even received a reply. Very disappointed. Thank you for taking the time to read this though.

Retrofit. I agree with Biggie. Frustrating for broadcast to quit when anything else happens with phone.

Update killed functionality. The most recent update has totally ruined the app. It’s been impossible to stream game audio but either plays for a minute then the app crashes or it redirects me to a website that doesn’t load on my phone. Has happened for several games, not just once. Please fix!

Pausing broadcast?. Trying to figure out why when my screen goes into sleep mode, the broadcast pauses. Doesn’t happen with my music. Can we fix that? It didn’t used to do that before.

SO BAD after revamp. It worked fine until they revamped it. Does anyone who makes the app actually use it?! The audio either crashes every 5-10 minutes or it won't even load bc it sends you to the website. PLEASE fix immediately.

The App is good..... The app IS good but could be a little better. Please think about developing a broadcast partnership with the ACC Network to provide UNC fans a groundbreaking service/platform that will allow the app’s users and UNC fans to watch all UNC games live within/on the app, in partnership with the ACC Network.

Designed and coded by a Dookie. App quits working every few minutes. As bad as the refs in the game. The constant freezing and rebooting makes it almost impossible to use. In fact I started writing this review after the app quit and I restarted it and it quit again. Pitiful attempt. Flagrant 2 foul,

Horrible. Does this developer even read the reviews and fix glowing errors??? The audio will only play if the app is in the foreground and active. It stops if the screen locks or if you use any other app. That’s HORRIBLE!!! Who wants to keep messing with the screen to keep the phone from going asleep???? Who has no other use for a smartphone than one task at a time???? Hello????? Fix this!!!!!!!

U can’t watch. It’s cool that u can hear it but u can’t watch it and if u do press watch it goes to espn and people would not go to your app they will go to espn and it is annoying how many notifications there is but it is a good app to keep track of your team and to have so good job making the app PS go heels

Listen to Baseball!. Hi, The sole reason I have the app was to listen to carolina baseball! I am disappointed that for 2 days now I have not been able to listen! I understand that it is not as popular as basketball but if you want fans to continue to us this platform then maybe you need to provide audio to all sporting events instead of picking and choosing! Especially since their are fans that can not afford to go the games, but they sure could listen! That is if audio was available! Thanks , Brad

time out message each time. When trying to use the app to access my tickets or view order history I get time out and each time after just keep getting a time out error. Have to use full site (hopefully I can still access my tickets for sporting events) as they have to be scanned on my phone

Bring Back the Old Version. The new version is horrible!! Audio times out. Where are recordings of THSN broadcasts of previous games? Sometimes when I’m at the game in person I want to listen later to THSN broadcast. Cannot find those for MBB Harder to navigate, find schedules, filter results. Give me back the old version!!!!

Make it feel like home. I live in Colorado and am a huge tar heels fan. Growing up in NC it was easy to flip on the radio or tv and find the game. Not so much here. But now with my go heels app with a touch of the screen I have all the latest tar heel news.

Disappointed. Tarheel lights quit working. Schedule adds every sport—all or nothing. Calendar entries have to be opened to see which game it is. Would be nice to have options for which sport you want to see on the schedule.

What’s the point?. This app is just a series of pictures on different sports. All the writers have a title to their article, yet you can’t read the article on the app. If you want a poster for each game, great. Get this app. If you want to be informed about the Tar Heels sports, then move on. You won’t be able to access anything.

Come on guys. I used to love this app but now that you have to keep the app open and literally can’t do anything else it’s kind of hard to like it anymore. Can’t even simply send a text message or let you phone go to sleep to save battery without the broadcast you’re trying to listen to stop playing.

Used to be great until redesign last month. This app used to be great!! But the redesign update last month is terrible. Every time I try to listen to the livestream of a game broadcast, my phone gets super hot and the app randomly quits working multiple times throughout the game. Before the redesign it worked great. Very disappointed with the recent redesign update to this app.

DJschultz. Would like the ability to have the phone turn off and the app still broadcast when the phone is in locked mode. App allowed that last year, needs to be updated to allow again now!

What happened?. I use to love this app. Now half the time it crashes. The calendar sync doesn’t work anymore and I can no longer listen to the Tar Heel Sports network. I hope this gets fixed.

A mess. Can’t keep the app from sleeping when streaming audio. Also live events often don’t show up, so you have to choose an upcoming event and hope it takes you to the stream you’re looking for (to hear the March 22 men’s basketball game I had to choose an upcoming women’s game). This app is a mess.

Dependable. Enjoy this app for keeping up with all UNC sports, especially now that I’ve moved out of NC. Good for summaries - not always in depth.

Good way to listen to the game. I love using this app to listen to Tar Heel games while I am at work. It had a big glitch for awhile with audio dropping when phone locked but it appears they fixed this. Much needed improvement! Thanks.

GREAT!. This app is amazing for UNC fans! I have an Instagram account (@tarheelsforlife) where I post information for other people about UNC basketball and this gives me great information. This is not a slow app and it works great for me!

Unable to watch and listen. 12.9 iPad Pro. When you click a video to watch, you can’t listen. When you leave the app and return, you can hear but no longer watch. The app is slow. Can a company really get paid to develop crap like this?

Used to be easier to find and use schedules. This app is good for tracking all UNC sports but keeping one sport’s schedule available on screen takes much more navigation than before. Also, there is no way to put the games into your calendar from the app. This was a very useful feature in previous versions. I do like the direct link to listen or watch games though - just add one to copy the game to the calendar please.

So far so good. I have enjoyed having the varied access to different sports! My nephew is a UNC swimmer, so I can easily keep up with his meets as well as basketball games! Very cool for this old alumnus!

Long distance fan. I enjoy getting updates and inside info about UNC athletics...all the way in Canada! I appreciate the articles and coaches' blogs and videos. I have accessed schedule info more than once to find out who is covering a MBB game to see if I will get to see it.

Version 8.0.0 is a problem. My phone is overheating and one basketball game has drained a full battery. Plus it keeps dropping out every 10-15 mins. I don’t see any benefit for the new version. The old version worked fine.

Hi Heels. Great way for an out of market fan to stay connected.

Login problem. Just recently I have been asked to log in before using the app. However when I attempt to enter my email address the login option disappears. I had really enjoyed listening to audio of the games but I can no longer use the app. I’m giving the app a low rating for this reason only .

Won’t open. This App won’t open and no update available. I used to use this app all the time. For games, parking, schedules, but I can’t even open it anymore.

Good enough. Would be great if there is a way to delay audio to match streaming games.

Tarheels outside NC. Great App for keeping up with UNC athletics. Well organized, easy to switch between sports, easy to see day to day activities in the schedule. I especially enjoy watching the game on the SmartPhone or Tablet when that function is available (because external NC markets often don't remember who UNC is in other territories of the US). Definitely recommend App if you want to keep an expectant "finger on the UNC pulse". If only UNC (football/basketball) were as good as the App, I would give it 5 stars.

Indispensable. Great app, truly is indispensable with regard to keeping up with the various Heels teams I follow. Only complaint I would have (minor) is that the visual format doesn't really fit the iPad very well, though that's purely an aesthetic thing and has nothing to do with performance.

App stopped working. Anybody know what happened to the app. When trying to access the app, it says the app is no longer valid and to download the latest version from Apple App Store. Apple doesn't have the latest version.

Great Ap, takes me back. I live outside of NC now, and this Ap lets me stay connected to the Heels for any and all sporting events I want to listen to. And I can listen to Tar Heel Sports and Eric Montross, think about listening to Woody Durham with my Dad, and not have to listen Dick Vitale salivate over Duke during every time out.

Please fix. Have enjoyed this app for a while, but now it won’t even let me open it. It just flashes the logo and closes again.

Great app!!!... almost.. I used to use this app all the time last season, from the beginning, all the way to the national championship. So I went to check back on it recently after not checking it in a good while and it The Tar Heel logo pops up, but then changes to a white screen that won't go away. Fix that and the app deserves 5 stars!

Can’t make it through a game. App shuts down and makes my phone super hot when trying to listen to the basketball game.

Great when it works. I bought the app mainly for the UNC radio feeds because I live on the west coast and can't always catch games on TV. The live feed tends to cut in and out and sometimes replays some previous audio. When it works, it's awesome to hear the Tarheel Radio Network when I can't otherwise get it. The news and schedules are an added bonus.

App not fully accessible. Please consider making your app fully accessible. Love that you’ve posted some of the championship games, but the play and pause buttons are not accessible to VoiceOver users.

Not there yet. I would love to give this a 5 star review, but it needs work. So far I haven’t been able to watch a single on demand video; it just plays the commercial and stops.

Pause option needed on live games to sync with tv. Please add a pause option to the live radio feed so fans can sync with tv broadcast. ONLY reason I used this app!

Dont Update!. Cant do ZERO starts. Just updated the app and now the audio feeds seizes to play when the screen locks. Total waste of space now - cant listen to the Heels in the car or even at home. Just a shame. Developers need to fix ASAP!

Terrible app. Absolutely a horrible app. Used to be great but now it’s garbage. Half the time the videos don’t work at all or all you can see is a 15 second ad.

Misleading: does not live stream without expensive upgrades. I got the $10 ipad app to live stream games only to find out that you ALSO have to buy a $30 premium subscription through the website. I then downloaded it to my iPhone only to find out that I have to pay an additional $5 to live stream to an app I already own using a subscription that I already have. VERY poor business model. Worst deal in the entire App Store.

Unc app.. App. will not open completely keeps shutting down while opening, deleted it twice and redownloaded it but same thing.

Doesn’t Work. Can’t listen to live radio on the app. Get error message “oops something went wrong…API empty result”

No audio. Love the app and all the content!! The audio doesn't work on videos on my iPhone 7 unless you connect to another device(speaker). Reached out to tech support, and all they did was point out the location of the mute on/off button. I have a masters in using the Mute on/off button and still have no audio. Kind of a bummer.

UNC App. This app is a must for any UNC sports fan. It's not a perfect app; however, it does what it needs to do...report the stories and pictures of the day. Adam Lucas always has a wonderful take on the Heels. As to the things I would like to see improved...the adobe flash player doesn't seem to work with the iPad. I don't think this is a problem is specific to this App. That improvement would be great....

Tar Heels. It is very helpful and gives you alerts about what’s happening GO HEELS!

Shutting down. I get a one second peak, then it shuts down. Delete, reinstall was no help.

Great app for Tar Heel fans. I love using this app. I mainly use it to keep up on the games/schedules and the Tar Heel news. I have, as another user mentioned, also found it impossible to listen to live events without an additional purchase. It'd be nice if "free" was actually "free." I like the option for game-time notifications because I sometimes forget what time a game starts. Good app.

Go Heels. This app is just ok. Audio is spotty at times. Also we have to pay for an upgrade to listen to live coverage of games. I am fine with paying for the upgrade except that NOT ALL GAMES are Broadcast. I guess learfield sports decides which games we are able to listen to which is crap. I don't care about some of the "premium" videos that are included with the upgrade charge! Give me access to all the game broadcast so I can listen to the games

Absolutely Useless. You know it’s bad when you have to resort to Google just to keep up with the score 👎
