Big Fan. It took me a few years to really get into college sports but once I did, I have loved The Varsity Network app ever since. The quality of the broadcasts are great and it’s so easy to listen. With some tv broadcasts tough to easily find and watch, i find this is the best and easiest way to get the best coverage. Really nothing to complain about for me

Quit working on my iPad 10th generation. May be a problem with a recent update, but my iPad 10th generation shows that it is trying to connect to a game broadcast, but never gets there. The sound works for the commercials so they are connecting. Hope it gets fixed. It's useless to me as is.

Too many pauses and stutters. I came over to Varsity when our broadcasts became a paid service on tune it. I have add occasions where it will go quiet for about 30 seconds then start up where it left off. It also stutters - a few words repeating themselves. Hopeless to sync to TV broadcast since you have to try and reset after that. Went back to Tune In and found a local radio station that I can use. Just tried for a press conference, about a dozen or so stutters.

Little glitchy but overall good. Can’t do anything as when I try to watch/listen the advertisement screen pops up and nothing happens and there is no X to close the page or do anything. However after trying and restarting the app multiple times it works

PHENOMENAL. The unquestioned best app out there to listen to college sports - not only can you stream 100s of local college radio broadcasts of games and coaches shows with very little delay, you can also hear your team’s podcasts and listen back to anything you missed on-demand. Very easy functionality and ways to save your favorite teams so you can access the broadcasts easier. Hands down app to download if you love listening to college sports on the radio - they even have national programming during postseason play for Football, Basketball and Baseball.

Genius Idea. Such a good idea and a slick app. It’s a must download for anyone who wants to listen to games at home or while driving.

Doesn’t work. I’d give 0 stars but not an option. The app simply doesn’t work. After signing up for an account ( and I would have been fine paying a subscription if the app actually worked) and then trying to play a podcast, a blank screen opens up with the word “advertisement” at the top. Nothing plays (neither audio nor video) and after waiting several minutes I finally gave up. I tried deleting the app and reloading then I had the additional hassle of dealing with logging into my account or creating a new one. Regardless when trying to play the podcast I get the same blank advertisement screen. I noticed someone else reported the same problem but somehow still gave the app 3 stars despite it not opening.

Unreliable. The app is great for keeping caught up with my team's broadcasts. Especially being in a part of my state where our rivals take over every broadcast. The problem is the broad cast is unreliable. The last several times I have attempted to tune in I have spent more time troubleshooting the app than I have listening to the game. The broadcast almost never makes it past the advertisement screen right now. After selecting the desired broadcast it will freeze right at that screen with no audio. This is regardless if I am streaming on WiFi or cellular data. I am constantly restarting, deleting, and redownloading the app. Phone restarts and reconnecting to data or WiFi do not improve the connection either.

Glitches. When you try to open a stream there is usually an ad that plays beforehand, the ad screen comes up blank and nothing plays and then doesn’t open the stream. Even tried to delete the app and redownload it and still nothing. App is useless if it doesn’t play.

Often glitches out during the advertisements lately. Trying to open up broadcasts and there is usually a short ad that plays beforehand. The app will open up the “advertisement” screen and nothing will play… even closed the app, deleted and redownloaded… same problem.

Pretty good app with a couple of flaws. Overall, I love this app. I love all the college sports offerings on the app, and I hope that never changes. My biggest beef lately is that the audio stops when I lock the screen. I feel like this wasn't an issue in the past, but it's plaguing me now. Perhaps there's a setting I'm missing somewhere, but I can't find it. I would love to see a fix for this because why would it matter if the screen is locked if I'm just streaming audio? One other much more ambiguous gripe I have is related to the fact that I'm blind and there a couple of areas that are herky jerky to use with VoiceOver. I hesitate to call the "your feed" screen inaccessible, but I haven't been able to get a lot of mileage out of it yet. Like I haven't been able to name any college teams that I'd like to get notifications for? It seems like I should be able to though? That said, I've been able to listen to everything I've wanted to, when I want to, so ... I'm really not too worried about this second issue very much. Anyway, like I said, this is a good app. There's really only one feature that really bothers me. In general, I would say, keep up the good work.

App Freezes at Ad Screen. The app has worked in the past (hence the 2-stars), but the last few times I’ve tried it, clicking on a livestream takes me to an ad screen and then the app freezes - neither playing the ad not taking me to the stream. Rebooting the app does no good either. This makes the app completely useless.

Version 1.0.5 crashes immediately upon opening. This version crashes immediately upon opening on my iPad. The previous version worked OK for me. I really like the app, so hope it gets fixed soon!

Live College Sports Play by Play. If you love listening to live radio broadcasts for college sports this is a one-stop shop for streaming all the top football and basketball programs in the country. What are you waiting for!?!?

One of the WORST apps!. Honesty, it’s better for replay if the zags men’s basketball are playing late and you know you won’t be up for it. Look up 103.5 on the internet on either phone or laptop if you want to listen to the game live and are in Spokane. It is VERY hit or miss if you get the game live with this app. Deleting and reinstalling WILL NOT help!!!

Must have for college sports fans. Best way to follow your favorite college team thanks to alerts for game broadcast starts. Also a great way to surf all the best action in your favorite conference or around the country. So glad all this is in one place.

I used to like app. I used to like using the app, but recently I have not been able to use it. Every time I try to listen, it tells me an ad is about to show but one never comes. Just stays blank and never changes. Deleted app and redownloaded it. Same thing happened. Please fix it.

This app is THE best!. As an old school radio guy, I love listening to multiple broadcasts throughout the college season! This app gives me access all of them and it’s FREE!! What a deal!

Waste of time. This app is a waste of time. I thought this would be a great option to listen to my teams games considering I’m halfway across the country from their broadcast area, but the app simply doesn’t work and was a waste of my time. Every time I try to listen to anything, it takes me to a blank, gray screen that simply says advertisement at the top and that’s it. No audio, no nothing. I’d give this zero stars if that were an option.

The greatest app ever. How can this be rated only 3.6 stars?? It’s free college football streaming (and probably other sports, too, but who cares—football is king) for almost every program imaginable. The developer offers a sign-in option, but amazingly (in this day and age) doesn’t force it on you. Even more amazingly? No subscription fee! This is the kind of developer who should set up a tip jar, because I’d contribute to it regularly. I use this app every single weekend during the fall; there are great games every Saturday. The stream never cuts out. It includes pre-game, post game, and sometimes, post-game call in shows; even Sirius doesn’t match that! 3.6 stars? Please. I’d rate this app 10 stars if I could.

So close yet so far. The 10% of the time the app works it’s awesome and one of the best ways to consume college sports while at work or on the go the other 90% of the time the “advertisement” before the stream glitches out before you even view it and you’re stuck trying to google radio stations and hope you can find them on an app or something that works

Very buggy. You never know what you’ll get with this app. Right night now I’m trying to listen to Oklahoma Sooners basketball, and all I’m getting is silence. Of course the advertisement you’re forced to watch first plays perfectly. They always do.

Thank you. I haven’t listened to tv broadcasts of college games for years. I prefer the biased home team radio broadcasts. Tune in used to provide broadcasts for any game I wished to listen. Tune in stopped that free service and I was disheartened. Varsity to the rescue. Quality streams of local broadcasts are wonderful. Thank you Varsity!

Ads block the program. Upon opening your chosen program an ad plays. Unfortunately sometimes the ad doesn’t play which means the content never will. It just gets stuck and there is no back button. But when it works it’s quite stable.

It’s good when it works. The app is good most of the time. However, when you really want to listen to a game or something, it seems to know it and will never move past the advertisement. The screen will stay dark gray! This has happened to me several times over the last 2 years. I’m finally done with it!

Excellent. At a time when television networks, namely ESPN, seemed determined to show less of the game during its coverage, the Varsity Network app provides the best of all worlds….actual game coverage. No one knows the team they cover more than local college radio crews. And no one provides local radio coverage better than the Varsity Network app.

Great app, lacks responsive support. This is a great app, one that fans living outside the radio broadcast networks for their favorite teams will cheer for. Crystal clear sound from livestreaming coverage of your college team will beat scratchy AM radio every time. That being said, the good folks at Learfield do NOT respond to the support inbox, even to acknowledge an issue. Case in point: I’ve reported more than once that while adding my school to the “Following” option adds them to “My Feed” on my phone, it doesn’t add my school to “My Feed” on the Apple CarPlay version of the app. It does so for other schools, but not for mine. It’d be nice if Learfield would at least let me know they’re aware of the issue. Otherwise, this app rocks. Address the responsiveness issue and you’ll get 5 stars!

Best radio app out there for CFB fans. I love college football radio. This is the app you need to listen to games around the country. I love it.

Fix the advertisement problem!. This app is broken. Half the reviews describe the exact same problem I have. I would give this app 5 stars if it worked, but instead I get stuck on the advertisement screen every single time I try to play something. It works on my I pad, but does not work on my I phone. It just goes black screen and says “advertisement” in white letters and that’s it. Very frustrating as I would use this every day to listen to Oregon State games.

Advertisement Freezes. Love the app when it opens. Often gets frozen on the initial advertisement screen. Very frustrating!

Won’t load the broadcast on iPad 10th generation. So I don’t know if it’s the new update but it needs to gets fixed before the tournament starts. It won’t load any broadcast I select just get a big loading circle but no broadcasts. The ads play but that’s it. Fix please quickly

Love It BUT…. It was quickly fixed! Thank you! The 17.4 iOS update broke the app. Nothing works. When choosing a game, you get the spinning circle. Bad timing with tournament season here! Edit…I’m revising my review below. This is an amazing app if you love college sports. That being said, the broadcasts often have continuous skips, making it impossible to listen to. Last weekend almost every replay was not the replay indicated and they were almost all just broadcast of the radio station broadcast sometime during the day. The Illinois broadcast was the Illinois State broadcast, and it was only 34 minutes long. I don’t understand why you haven’t fixed this. I’m forced to delete this app due to the poor quality and the lack of updates and fixes. I love this app where everything is gathered into an easy format to find just about any team out there. As others have noted, there are dropouts here and there. Another issue is the notification times are off by one hour. If my team is playing at 5, for some reason the notification comes at 4. Other than that I am loving it. This app is a perfect example of what apps were born to do.

A must have for any college sports fan!!. Audio sounds crystal clear as well

Awesome concept and great when it works. App worked great the first time I used it, but every time I choose a game now a blank screen that just says advertisement pops up. No ad plays, and there’s no way to get out of it, and the game I select does not play. Tried everything from a hard restart of my phone to deleting and redownloading the app, and still having the same issue. Hopefully it’s just a bug that can get worked out, because this is definitely an app I’d use all the time if it worked!

App needs improvement. Often the screen freezes on the first advertisement page. If I go to the web application, the broadcast has glitches, jumps back and forth between live action, has a high pitched squeal periodically. Really needs improvement.

Great app. I just downloaded this so I could listen to radio instead of TV announcers. Easy to create an account and set up my fav team.

Carplay works! Quick tap works as well!. Vehicles with Carplay can stream game audio but if listening at home or on phone at work it gets stuck on advertisment. Update 3-19. Upon clicking on audio quickly tap screen upon transfer and the audio advertisement played then it worked not on carplay! Unbelievable, I knew there was a way for it to work when not just carplay. March Madness!

Stuck on Blank Ad. Please address the broken advertisement section. Whenever you select a broadcast to listen to, it pulls up a blank, black ad screen, with no option to close out of it to get to the broadcast. Love the work Varsity Sports does, but I am stuck using my team’s own app instead to listen to the broadcast.

No San Diego State basketball.. This is a great app. My only real problem with it is that I can’t find any live feeds from San Diego State basketball. The app will show the game, but the only fee that is available is whoever San Diego State is playing. There is never an option to listen to the San Diego State broadcast. would someone please fix this? Also, while you’re at it, please put text labels on the bottom tabs. I am blind and use the voice screen reader for the iPhone, and these bottom tabs are not labeled with text.

Glitchy. I’m having the same problems others are reporting. The app will black out during the opening ad that plays and freezes there. I liked the app last year but it is unusable now. Redownloading and restarting the app does not fix it.

suggestion for app. This is a good app, but I have a suggestion for the app. Would you guys be able to make the app to where I can mix the game with music? That way I can listen to my teams fight song while listening to the game?

No joy. Can’t get it to work. I’m on an iPhone 12 mini so I should have the necessary tech… when I download the app all looks fine but when I go to create an account, as soon as I tap on the “first name” text box, the app’s entire screen goes black. Same if I bypass the sign in process and just tap on the search text box.

No problem with this app last year. Today I open the app expecting the easy to use app of last year. Go to my game to listen to ISU pregame on my iPhone and I can’t get past a blank page that says Advertisement, but it doesn’t play. It will stream off the desktop computer, but that’s not the point. I want to listen to the pregame outside while doing things. Very disappointed in this app.

Stuck On Ad Screen. I would love to use this app and give it a positive review. Unfortunately, every time I try to listen to a broadcast, I am shown a black advertisement screen, and then nothing. The broadcast itself will not play. Really unfortunate because I used to use this app regularly, but it has become unusable.

Fantastic App. This is the best app out there for listening to college sports. Any school affiliated with Learfield is on here, and when you’re not in town to listen on the radio, you can pull up the broadcast on your phone and listen without a problem. Highly recommend.

Advertisements never Load. I try to use this app to listen to college baseball. I go to pick the game I would like to listen to and then I sit waiting for the ad to load for 90% of the time. When the ad does not load, you can not listen making it frustrating. When the ad loads, it’s a great app. Please fix this issue

Amazing. Love it! So many broadcasts. College football the blitz on Saturday noon to midnight changed my life !!!!! Amazing coverage all day. Both sides of the games depending on who has the ball !!!

Can’t use AirPlay to sync my game. App doesn’t seem to support AirPlay under iOS 17.2. There’s never been an AirPlay logo displayed in the audio player but you could always push the audio to your favorite external speaker from the Control Center. Please this/add official AirPlay support. Side note: The Varsity App works great in the car via Apple CarPlay.

Constantly repeating audio. I would like to rate this higher, but the developer needs to fix their buffering issue. No matter how fast your internet speed is, about once every minute the audio repeats the last 2 seconds.

Freezes on Advertisement screen. I would love this app but every time I try to open a broadcast the app freezes on the advertisement screen.

Horrible. This app is terrible. It works maybe 10% of the time, and instead just gets stuck loading an ad. Somehow, this hasn’t been fixed despite being an issue for months

Great when it works-it often does not. Too often when I select a game, the app brings up an Advertisement which never plays and from which there is no exit. Which means I never get to hear any of the game - which is the app’s sole purpose

Frozen on Ad screen. It appears everybody else is having this same problem, but the app will not load any broadcasts and just sits stuck on a blank advertisement screen. Literally useless.

Useful when it works. You find a stream you want to listen to and it then goes to a black advertisement screen and you are stuck.

Glitchy. The app, on the audio broadcast, is going back and forth. It will play, then go backwards 5-10 seconds, play for 15 seconds, and then skip back forward. Very frustrating.

It was great for 2 weeks…. After 2 weeks of using the app for my college radio broadcast (no more Gary and Brad!), it became unusable due to an ad black screen that would not go away. Luckily, I have another app that can accomplish the same functionality.

I keep deleting. I want to like this app but every time I reinstall it, I go to a feed, and nothing happens. It just says advertisement for minutes on end until I give up. If that’s the goal, well done, but I’m guessing it’s not. It certainly isn’t what I want from an app.

Freezes. Keeps crashing and only get a black screen

Unreliable. This app is unreliable, broadcasts glitchy, sometimes skips or jumps around. App won’t open for my broadcast tonight, keeps taking me to a blank advertisement & then nothing.

Doesn’t work. I redownloaded this app to listen to the March Madness games again this year, but an advertisement pop-up comes up and never plays leaving you stuck on a gray screen with no audio. A definite bummer, just seems like it doesn’t work.

Will not load. When I chose my game your advertisement page pops up blank and does not load highly disappointed

Ad freezes app. Would love to tell you how the app works, but unfortunately can’t because an advertisement is the first thing to pop up when trying to stream. This ad freezes the whole entire app.

App Freezing on Ad screen. The App had been working great, but now it’s freezing on the “Advertisment” Screen. I even tried deleting the app and starting over. But that hasn’t helped. It worked fine just a day ago. Looks like it’s happening a lot to their folks so I figured I’d write a review!

Skipping audio. I use this app to listen to college baseball. It’s nice that it can run streaming in the background There is a big technical issue that causes the audio to repeat and skip. Makes it unusable at times

Not playing. When you click on a game it takes you to a pop up advertisement that never plays… ive deleted the app and redownloaded and nothing fixes it

Worst App I use. Cuts off the feed even on Wifi. Freezes on loading and of course right in the middle of a great play. Load up and play the ad then freeze up or refuse to load the broadcast. Hate being forced to use and app that is horrible.

Terrible. Half the time I can’t get past the advertisement screen and it WONT even show an advertisement! I’m fine with having ads but at least have the app work right so I can listen to my game.. ridiculous

Unusable at times. People have complained for months about the app freezing on the advertisement screen and it’s still not fixed. Can’t listen to the postgame shows for my team due to this.

Cutting out and repeating. I’m trying to listen to the pregame and the game. The feed is cutting out or repeating. Impossible. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled and still not better. Disappointed

Rarely Works. I have the same problem as others where you click on a game and the Ad comes up but there is no ad and you can’t get the content.

Volume control issues using phone and HomePod speaker. Volume kept defaulting to max volume while using app. Even if volume was decreased it would return to maximum level.

Please fix advertisement. Can’t listen to games anymore. Blank advertisement screen displays when I click the game I want to listen to. Deleting and reinstalling app doesn’t fix it. Use to enjoy this app. Please fix this issue!

Crashes in iOS 14.8. When you open a stream, the app plays an ad (flawlessly) then promptly crashes. Whether you watch the ad or click skip, the app crashes before getting to the stream.

Won’t work. Since the last update, I try to use the app and it opens then immediately closes. I have tried deleting and reinstalling but still the same result. Was a good app to listen to college football but not now! Latest update does not fix the problem!

Could be a favorite app, but …. It’s very glitchy. Half the time ads get stuck and restarting doesn’t help. Shame, because the offering looks amazing, particularly for minor college sports.

App doesn’t work half the time. Every time i open this app it gives me a black screen. It stays their.

Unusable. Every time I select a stream a black box pops-up that says “Advertisement”. An ad never loads and I can’t close the pop-up box. This is the 2nd year of this issue. I’ve updated & deleted/redownloaded the app. I’ve tried it with WiFi. It never works.

App is good when it works. App is really good, but it only works about 50% of the time. It crashes at the ad screen. Please fix this app!!!!

Advertisement. For the 2022 football season when I select a game it loads a page that should be an advertisement but there is nothing there and the game doesn’t load either. Doesn’t matter what game or team.

Awful. I have never successfully been able to use this app. It has an advertisement pop up window that doesn’t go away and doesn’t load an ad. Zero stars.

Varsity network. I follow two teams on your app and I can’t access on demand audio for Ohio State and Buffalo. Can you update your app so I get on demand audio for those teams?

Not functional. App is not functional. Clicked on College football stream and all that popped up was a black screen with the word advertisement at the top. Waited several minutes without change.

App barely works. Great when working. 90 percent of the time when you click a broadcast an add pops up that never loads so the audio never starts.

Nice when it works. Fix the blank advertisement screen when starting a stream. Other than that the app works well.

Force closes after one second.. I download this at the beginning of the college football season 2021. The first week it worked great. Since then every time I press the app, whether it’s on my iPad or iPhone, it force closes within one second. What’s the deal?

Back to being utterly useless. For a fleeting moment the app was decently worth the promotion that it receives on college radio networks. Now it freezes on advertisement screen again and is back to being the equivalent of a paperweight. Boggles the mind how that happens.

Sold Out. Really enjoyed listening to local basketball radio calls of games on The Varsity. Then March Madness started and The Varsity sold out to NCAA and dropped local calls of games and only offered Westwood One. I will find local stations on web now to stream.

Was great. Now, not so much. Gets stuck on advertisement, so can’t listen now. Was great before today.

Jumps Around. The audio will jump backward 5 seconds then jump forward 10 seconds once a minute, even on perfect wifi. Makes it impossible to listen to.

Repeatedly sticks with black screen at "advertisement". Why is this issue not being addressed? I've sent several messages to support, never received a reply or any acknowledgment to this issue but it's being reported by several over a long period of time.
