App Crashes if You View from Siri. I realize that this is not the full WolframAlpha app and that you can view sample items or ask Apple’s “Siri” specific questions, but it hasn’t been that great of an app. In my experience, the sample information that you view from opening the app is good, but every time I click Siri’s link to the Viewer app, it crashes. I’ve tried again multiple times, but the only information I can get from the app is the sample information. I realize that some of the other reviews do say that it works well, so I would encourage you to at least try it out.

1 star? really?. "This is just an advertisement for the pay version" Yes this is. I'm glad they have this for me to try because I can know what to expect from it before buying it.

Siri why did you take me here?. It's a great app and also for iPhone users this is where Siri gets all her/his information. Great app!

I ♥️ WolfA. I use to use this tool (browser version) a lot during my college days and it really helped me out a lot, and finally I can use it on my phone for my professional work!

Scam. This app use to work, now it’s a glorified googled. Do not waste your money or time buying this junk app. It’s not what it use it be.

Why?. Why does there need to be a new app to do the same thing? What it’s the point of purchasing the app (like I did the previous app), only to have you transition to a FAR more expensive subscription service. Not to mention this app takes up significantly more memory than the previous app… just to do the same stuff… I don’t get it!

Wonderful. Absolutely love this. It has helped me in so many ways when it comes to mathematics and various other things. I recommend this to all of my peers and friends!!!

For use with Siri results. If you want to view a wolfram alpha result from Siri in an app click on the wolfram alpha logo at the bottom of the result. If you already have the full version of the wolfram alpha app, clicking on the logo will take you to the full version of the app and the viewer is not needed.

New app for subscription? What?. I’ve already bought classic app. Why do I need new app for subscription?

Useless. Useless and now I assume if I pay them $9.99 a month after already paying for this app it will only be more useless. What a waste of my time.

Reduced functionality = no functionality. You can't search anything, you can even enter numbers in the math section. There's one example of everything it can do, but if you want to compute anything you have to buy the full version. It would be nice if they mentioned that the reduced functionality meant that you couldn't actually do anything. This app is a waste of time, I don't even know why they made it.

Another Siri strikeout- don't waste your time.... I read the previous reviews and so my expectations were properly set.- this app would provide information only after I queried with Siri, scrolled to the bottom, and touched the Wolfram Alpha logo. The app crashed as it attempted to open. I deleted and re-downloaded- same result. I deleted, restarted my iPad, and re-downloaded- same result. I guess my Ph.D. just isn't enough education to get this POS to work...

Free Version = Same as web but 3x more ads. TL;DR - Use the website for a vastly improved experience. The free version of the app at least functions roughly the same as the website. The only difference is that in this app at any given moment 35-70% of your screen will be taken by ads you can’t hide, and the rest will have icons throughout for functions that you can’t use unless you pay. It is honestly an embarrassment of an app that really only exists as an ad platform for their subscriptions, which come in the form of 30+ other apps that I’m sure all have ads for all the other ones. It’s basically a multi-level-marketing scheme in app form.

Essential for school age children. I upgraded from the original WolframAlpha classic app because this app has far more functionality, specifically printing out problem, sheets for elementary school children and step-by-step solutions for those problems, and basically any math my kids will take through high school (eg Calculus)

Quite useful. Good app. Haven't noticed any bugs. Would be better if the additional keyboard that pops up for typing numbers and special characters, had the plus and equals signs. Maybe these could replace the dollar and percent signs because, the dollar sign is easier to access on the regular keyboard than the plus or equals sign, and the percent sign might not be as frequently used as these two. Another alternative to this suggestion is to have the additional keyboard be specific to what's being typed (e.g. when a system of equations is being entered show characters commonly used for that).

Only after paying $60 do you see that it doesn’t work. If you take a picture of the problem it does recognize your writing quite well but the translation of the problem to an actual command is not working at all! And after typing it in manually it still doesn’t know what to do with the problem, for example Lagrangian sqrt(x(t)*(1+(x(t)')^2))/t it asks “did you mean sqrt” For $60 I DO expect a whole lot more!

Bought subscription. This app is trash bro it doesn’t been give me the correct answers im better up making up my own formulas

Big Intangible Ad tool. If you want to buy this app because of Siri, I would like to suggest you to stay away from this app if you don’t want to hate Siri / 🍎. Also, just like every other reviews it’s not that very good of an app itself. And in my own humble opinion this is not a very good marketing strategy to used Siri as an Ad tool. Because in the mindset of consumer Siri is like intangible Brand Ambassador of I devices 🍎. It could have a bad impact on Brand itself. Sorry about the honest harsh review.

Good way to Understand the App's Purpose. I thought it was just a calculator but it does so much more than just that. It's an app for all information. I would purchase the actual thing.

1 step forward and 2 steps back. WolframAlpha Classic was great. Pay once and get step-by step solutions and access to the magic that is WolframAlpha. The new app is not. Pay $10 a month or $60 a year for a a little app on your phone. Yes, they improved the interface and inputs. It isn’t worth forking out so much money for one little app.

Awesome. I haven't been going through the app but if you ask Siri to graph something it'll pop up a picture from this app and you can click on it and if you all the details

New update brings a worrying trend. I have used WolframAlpha for years and loved the app version since it was able to give me step-by-step solutions to difficult mathematics and physics problems. It is a very powerful tool and calculator. However, with a new UI comes a very worrying subscription model that Wolfram is pushing that costs significantly more than the app just to “unlock” the same features you used to have just for buying the app. It’s a disappointing trend but the new UI looks really good. Just a shame it brought an expensive subscription surprise with it

Read the app description before giving 1⭐!. If you read what the app claims to be, you'll find that it delivers exactly that. Would you download Angry Birds and complain that it stinks at doing your taxes? This app works great with Siri! That's all it was ever supposed to do. Yes, they also offer a paid version that works without Siri. Why does that make people so angry? I encourage other reasonable people to click 5 stars just to counteract the ridiculous 1's.

Siri, thanks for nothing!. I can’t believe this is the direction Apple developers want to take Siri in. ALL the information asked is available via the web free of charge. To ask people to pay for an app for the same information is an insult and just greedy. Please abandon this idea of pimping out Siri to sell apps. NOT what I paid $1,400 for with my X. I want answers and complete answers, quickly, and INCLUDED. So again, thanks for nothing, Siri (Apple).

Buggy. I pay for a subscription and the app is quite buggy and also keeps logging me out. Frustrating to use. I stick with browser now unfortunately.

Used to offer step by step. Chatbot is the way to go - at least until they start with the subscription path as well

I Paid For The App Now They Want To Do A Subscription. Why not grandfather in your early users. To try and use it and find out you cancelled the other app that I bought and now you want subscription. No Thanks. Chat GPT will probably kill your business.

Compendium of Knowledge. Holy awesome sauce! This mystic creation rivals that of the Library of Alexandria, satiating my hunger for worldly facts and random motes of interest. This "app" thoroughly utilizes the creation that is the Internet while shielding our minds from the plagues of man that indiscriminately foul our streams of information. The sages of old would be proud if they had only survived the fires, women, and pestilence of the day. O' how they longed for a means to search the scrolls with efficiency. This "app" is an ode to their dreams. May it serve you well in your quests, young scholars.

Depends on your use. For me, this app is a great help. I frequently use the Wolfram Alpha full site to solve differential equations. However, the site will not let me see step solutions. Using this app, I can get the steps. On the other hand, if you use Siri to ask questions such as "what is the capital of Spain?" you will find this app next to useless. Unfortunately, the app does not allow you to make new searches. Instead you have to ask Siri, and then tap the Wolfram logo in the lower right corner. Personally I think these features should just get integrated right into Siri.

Not as good as now. The information seems outdated and lacking. Originally it was wonderful. Now it’s occasionally useful. It was better when it was free.

Great Preview. At first I thought that the app was extremely limited because it was just those specific queries, but the detailed view of what I said in Siri was also very helpful. Overall, this was a great preview of the full Wolframalpha app.

Horrible. This is a waste of money… by far the worst app I’ve ever used for math assistance. Camera analysis doesn’t work as advertised. Terrible terrible app.

Misunderstood. What most all the 1 star reviewers failed to understand about this version of the app is that it was created as a companion to Siri. The only way to enter search info is through Siri. When Siri produces information per a user query, you can get further information on the subject by touching the WA logo at the bottom. This app wasn't intended to be a standalone app; therefore it does exactly what it was meant to do and it does it perfectly. Thank you for the companion app!

Just a taster. This is just an outpost for you to get a taste of the app. It is just an ad in a app. It shows you premade stuff then can be accessed with Siri. It has the same UI as the full version, but you can ask the same query to Siri, and get more freedom of customization. This does not even enhance the experience for Siri just an ad in an app. I'm only giving it 2 stars because of Wolframs hard work. I mean it's trying, but you can just give an actual free version like in the internet version, not just a unusable ad of an app.

Is it possible to sue you? 2016 I bought this as a stand alone app. I have email proof as well. Now you want to charge me as a subscription.

Garbage. What a ridiculous app. Why would anybody put their name on this? It seems to be totally useless. There are no directions for how to even use it, what it is, to what is it supposed to do. All I know is nobody here likes it but I don’t even pretend to know what it supposed to do. I asked Siri she doesn’t know what it does. Why? Because it does nothing. I’d hate to have wasted $ for a $2.99 version. It does nothing. I just like don’t like wasting my time so that’s just as bad.

DON'T DOWNLOAD!!. This is a quick review: Pay $2.99+Tax with the basic point of Wolfram Alpha, or just open Safari, Google Chrome, and save money. It would be handy with the whole Siri integration, but not unless you pay the $2.99, has a variety of options, but you cannot edit them into what you want. Bottom Line: Cheap, poorly programmed, waste of time, and a rage enhancer.

Not Worth It - Subscription. This app would be fine as a standalone, one-time, payment. There is 0 value in this as a subscription based model. Features and UX are the same as a decade ago. Purely updated to milk their user base which is a shame considering how this was once a great tool. Do better.

App language. I don’t read Japanese, can’t really understand what’s going on with the app’s setting

Disappointed with new version. In the past I often used History to input variations on a single equation. However, now my “basic” subscription doesn’t appear to log my history. I looked for a Help function to research this, but it doesn't seem the app has one. This has dramatically reduced the utility of the app for me.

Waste of time!. WA products are only good when they are free. Once you pay for the Premium version you notice there’s nothing there to justify your spending. They make you believe that if you pay you can use pro features but then they “switch” and ask you for even more money.

What a waste of time. Free version is useless so I can’t test any of the functionality I was after - I know there are free apps that will have the functionality so I’m going to find and download them instead of paying to upgrade this app

Latest FREE version is very welcome.. This latest version which combines many of the paid Apps is a huge improvement on previous versions. Still room for improvement..data from countries outside USA is limited…

Pointless. Completely pointless app. More often than not, Siri directs you to the wolfram website anyway. This app is just a vehicle to point you at the paid app. Lasted less than a day on my phone.

Siri does not activate app. Siri gets the result but the app does not open. The apple store does... therefore not usable.

All. This app is the best for math and other stuff too as it gives lots of free features that most apps have a “pro features” so that is why I like this app so much.

Very limited. This app is very limited. There’s a character limit so if you want to put in even very small datasets it will not work even if you pay for the pro version

Found a missing item. In the culture section, your sample song is "Blowin in the Wind". You omitted the Peter, Paul and Mary version!

Crashes ... Sort of. The app comes up on the screen when I tap Siri search results, then disappears to the background state and never shows any data on an iPad mini. Couldn't find any info on how the viewer was supposed to work. Very disappointing.

You can't enter any search terms. It would be nice if they mentioned you couldn't search anything using this app. You can only see examples of searches... That was not what I imagined when they said "reduced functionality."

Owned by Jetblue?. The flight tracker shows 90% jet blue flights and a few others. The free version only will tell you the flight number and not origin or destination. It does not track the same flights that the flight tracker app tracks which makes me think there's a link to JetBlue somehow.

Absolutely useless. You can search for anything you want, but to see the results you have to buy the full version. This program is a waste of time.

# SCECHY. I just can’t it’s really creepy I hit don’t share location and I got on maps to make sure it’s not a scam and it can access you phone and it had my location even though I hit no it can’t access my location. THAT SCECHY!

I demand a refund!. This app is absolute crap! I want a refund for the electron use sent to my house. No, I will not pay for shipping. I want a refund for the time I spent finding out that this app is horrendous. I want the bandwidth of my wi-fi refunded and the charge of my phone used to download this returned! BOGUS. don't bother downloading. the viewer doesn't do anything but show examples. it doesn't even let you do basic things.

What's the point?. On the iPhone 5, Siri can answer every example question on this app. Unless you want to be an encyclopedia of useless information, or apparently a mathematician, I don't understand the need for the paid app.

Refuses to launch. I have installed the viewer app but strangely, tapping on a wolfram alpha result in siri always takes me here to the app store page instead of actually launching the app. I'm running iOS 8.4 on an iPhone 6. I hope the issue gets resolved soon and I will edit this review.

What use is this?. Why would you want this on your phone? It only lets you see what the full version does; you can't interact with it or ask it to calculate things. Waste of space on your phone.

Doesn’t Work. Suppose to show a more detailed view from Siri but app just crashes when using Siri to search for something.

No Siri. Every time I use Siri for wolfram alpha data, it just shows me this app that I already downloaded in App Store - doesn't seem to integrate which is its prime function. Not sure how this got approved by apple.

This app doesn’t even have what I told Siri. Whenever I saw the ratings I thought this was going to be trash and it was trash. I didn’t even see what I asked for. I didn’t even like anything that was there. I wish I never downloaded this app.

Garbage. This app shows how the main app operate. If you have the intension to buy the full app an want a review then you can download this app. Otherwise it is not for you.

Tricky. I see now that touching the Wolfram logo expands upon your Siri query, but there is no prompt to do so. Confusing until you find out.

Teaser for Full Version. The WAViewer app is nothing more than a teaser to get you to purchase the full version. It has sample problems, but you cannot change any of the numbers. Only download this if you are curious about what the full app could do. As a standalone app, this one is completely useless.

East/west?. I downloaded this because that’s what Siri showed when I asked for planes overhead but I am confused as to why the map shows north and south in the correct position but east and west are swapped. Very confusing.

Waste. I already have a pro account, but I have to buy the actual wolfram alpha just to be able to do the stuff I can do on a computer for free

Don't even bother. Like others have said this is merely a promotional plug for the paid app and you can't search anything nor will you find any use for this.

Terrible. I can’t search anything up, it is super confusing. I wanted to give it a try despite the reviews, but everyone else was right. Do not get this app. It is a complete waste of time. Just use Siri.
