Professional application. You have competitors, but this app works best. I use it in my work.

Way Off!. My DISH antenna automatically finds the satellites so I used the app to make sure my rig is in the correct orientation between trees. The first time I used the app I thought I must have done something wrong, but the dish locked onto that sat's anyway so I forgot about the incident. Now at my next campsite there are lots of trees so I needed an accurate assessment of the satellite locations. I found a site with a nice clearing right where the app points to for 110W, 119W and 129W. But it was not correct! My Winegard 1000 pointed 30 degrees more eastward and locked onto the satellites- even with the trees in the way. Since then with the wind moving the trees I have lost my signal and it is too much effort to move the rig. Plus I can not use this app to reliably find the satellites. And yes, I have checked the app several times since then and it points right at the clear space without trees. I did this while standing on my rig at the Dish antenna for one of these rechecks. Something is wrong with the logic and or math of this program considering these satellites are of the most common used for the Dish Network in the Western states.

Awesome. This product was an awesome help. I am currently in Germany and this product saved me hundreds in fees to hire a tech. I messed with my dish for several hours trying to figure out the right azimuth to get on the satellite. Using this app I was able to align and have satellite working in just seconds. Thanks.

Great Sat Finder. Works better than my birdog sat finder. Super fast and easy to use. Only suggestion I have to make this app perfect is to add in something that will help zero the elevation, because I'm lazy lol

No Ads problem fix. It appears the no ad problem is fixed, it may take 24 hours, which it should not, but the ads do go away.

Wonderful Peace of Work. I never found an app that was beautifully designed and easy to use. I have aligned my dish several times. Almost perfect if the iPhone's compass are a bit more accurate and not effected by any interference. 5 STARS!!!! Keep up the good work!

I found this app to be intuitive. Seems to be a pretty good application! I haven't yet tried to use it at my home location, but in experimentation at a restaurant, I know exactly where to aim a dish for several different satellites. The compass in my iPhone 4s makes the aiming meter work like a champ. The ads at the bottom are annoying, but the app was free!!! Worth far more than free to me!!!!

Works perfect. Bought a high priced app thinking it would work and was disappointed. Came back to the App Store and got this one for free and was completely satisfied. Had our dish up and running in just minutes after installing this app!!! Very helpful!

Hurricane Irma. My dish was out of alignment after Irma hit, called directv after waiting for over an hour for them to answer, and them saying it will be 2 days before they can come out to repair, I decided to do it myself. App helped point in right direction , but i remembered which way it was pointing in the past that helped because with directv or any satellite company there are many satellites and you have to know what one to connect to for your area. I opened app then placed phone inside of bracket while I turned the dish. When my wife started yelling I knew I had signal at that point I stopped and tightened all the bolts down and everything works great. Helpful app.

Fantastic satellite pointing app. Lots of great features great finding satellites and pointing antennas a breeze. I use this quite a bit in the field when installing products. I find no need to launch any other apps: it's got everything I want.

It works well. Interface is clumsy but it works pretty good.

Works great!. My dish was not in alignment, I’m assuming from some bad weather here. I downloaded this app it shows you where to point it. I’m in a small town so it showed me on the map right where the dish should point too. So easy!

I like it. Roofers are about to move my dish and I don't want to pay to have it re-alligned. I took the info from my D*TV and found out which satellite it currently views. I found it in the list and the app threw up a line on an arial map, allowing me to confirm line of sight very quickly. The built-in compass seems to be acurate as well. The info screen also tells me the angle I need on the elevation. This is a pretty handy app. I agree with the reviewer who recently suggested you add the ability to "see" the satellite on the screen - that would rock. Also, and I'm not entirely sure the iPhone can do this with terrific accuracy, it would be handy to add the an elevation angle measurement to the compass tool. Thank you for such a handy app.

Nice app, but poor compass performsnce from the iphone 4. This free nifty app is great for setting up your dish - unfortunately the compass feature on the iphone is highly inaccurate and was of no help at all. The angle for vertical setup was also hidden so I found it only by accident while playing with the app. So 5 stars from me for the app.

Awesome Utility. I am a Broadcast Engineer by trade. Therefore I appreciate good tools that help me work more efficiently. I especially like the specifics of the elevation angle of the dish and LNB. The price of the program is a good investment that pays off quickly in my line of work

Limited use.... This could be helpful if the map was accurate but from the looks of it, it's a week old. It does not appear to be using GPS in real time. Also no instructions, seriously?? I've seen far superior products and am wondering why I downloaded this one, oh yes it was free!! You get what you pay for..

Excellent. Great App, make short work of pointing Azimuth. The only thing about these apps, they don't really explain HOW to use them. I set my phone on top of the LNB, in a crease to keep it as square to the LNB as possible. Looking at me. Achieved green field and my Box was downloading info on the first try. A little tweaking afterward and all is great!

Mr. I found this software helpfull and I could locate the satellite and services I needed in less than 10 minutes. And with the inclinometer and spectrum analyser in place it is a wonder software.. I highly recommend it

Flawless. Had to fix our dish after a storm that knocked it over and rendered us without reception. Used this app and it came back online with ease! Awesome job developing this!

Good free app. The only problem I found is that it points the wrong way for NSS-9. It shows I need to point the dish the opposite direction because it doesn't see 177 W as 183 E. That's the only problem I found though.

Goodbye!. It was a good app until they decided to throw up the “allow us to track you across other apps and services” screen. No, I don’t agree and the only option is ok... Closed it, rated it, deleting it from my iPhone...

The map is not displayed in the correct directions north, east, west and south in Saudi Arabia. The map in the correct directions does not show the north, east, west, and south of Saudi Arabia the iPhone X

Superb app. I spent two hours with dish network support and they couldn't do anything. I used this app to re point my dishes and right on the first attempt I had my channels back. This is an amazing app.

Wow. Had bad wind storm which blew my satellite off my roof. Attempted to align my antenna on my own for a couple hours. Found this app and had it up and going in 2 minutes. Awesome!!!!

Uses magnetic north. I kept getting wrong results and finally figured out you there is some mixup between magnetic and true north. If you have the compass app set for tru north, then the compass on Dish Align will point off about 10°. You have to have your compass app set to use magnetic north to get the dish align compass display to match the satellite info. It seems Dish Align is not properly reading the Compass. Example: where I am a sat is at 180° true N, 169° mag N. if Compass set to true N and rotated to 180°, DA compass says sat is 13° west. If Compass set to mag N and rotated to 180°, DA compass says sat is right ahead. I'm not sure how to interpret this but something is wrong.

All you need to install. This is a one stop shop as long as you have a clear line of sight to the satellite.

it is better than google maps. because the map is newer that what Google is using "an up to date map"but it needs new features to be added in order to compete Google map app

Camper's Buddy. Works well with the tripod dish. Tip- load a compass program on your phone first. They usually require you to calibrate the phone for directional accuracy. Once calibrated, turn on the Dish Align app and Bang! Hits 101 every time.

CTO. This app is very useful in determining where to point an antenna when aligning to a satellite. I used to teach technicians to use Google maps but this is so much better.

Great App, but.... Love this app, has all the information you need. I am a DISH and DirecTV dealer and can use this app to get a pretty good idea of whether or not I can get a signal for my customer. The only thing I wish this had was a visual camera interface reference that would show where the satellite is in the sky.

Way out of date, how do I check the view of the Sat???. Wow, outdated service names and satellites missing, how can you trust the app for anything???? Find another app

Great app. This app is the best app out there so far to find the direction for your satellite signal if the your disk lost it signal but there is some needed feature they could add is elevation measurement

Works for dialing in HughesNet quickly. I have a portable HughesNet setup that requires pointing at each new location. This app is the quickest way I’ve found to get the azimuth and elevation to start the tuning process.

Fantastic. I've got expensive satellite pointing equipment and barely need it anymore. This app is seriously incredible. Makes it so easy to find a sat- just about any of them. I'm using this for directv.

Simple to use. Aligning portable dish network dish at satellite 129 when camping. Uses GPS to determine location and returns angle and direction. The dish receiver does not even provide this info for sat 129. This app makes setting up the dish fast and simple.

Needs. Program needs a map that doesn't act like a box. Making it so that the map does a full 360 rotation of the globe with no limits might solve the giving a bad map azimuth to aim. Dish AZ aiming is good but the map representation is off when going west out of Hawaii. Would be nice to have sats shown on globe to pick from instead of a list.

Clunky. The user interface is clunky and the app doesn’t read the compass correctly (the iPhone compass has to be set for magnetic north or the app compass will point in the wrong direction). Another user complained about this a year ago and it still hasn’t been fixed, so draw your own conclusions about app support. The app contains all the information I need, at least.

AWESOME App Saved Us Money!. My husband and I travel in our RV for his work. Direct TV wanted to charge us $200 to set up our dish when we moved parks. We brought our big dish with us, downloaded this app and got it aligned and running on the very first try!!! Super easy and SUPER quick and saved us BIG BUCKS! YAAAAY!!!

Just what you need, when you need it. It just works and has more data than you necessarily need, but when you want it you have it. Very intuitive to use. Would have liked some help to figure out which satellite was mine .. but with a little looking around I got it.

Works great but. The App works as advertised, even has an audible dish align function. If they added an elevation function in the compass section it would get a five.

App is not ready for market... Well I must admit it actually worked for a minute or two, but after wanting recalibration the settings were way off, and never came back with any accuracy. Intelsat 19 at 166, is not known by that name in the list. I would love to see this app debugged, has potential, but not yet..

Useful. Don't give up your squealer, this won't help you fine tune the pointing. Good effort for initial pointing, as it works OK but some bugs if you're in the southern hemisphere. Polarization offset on the graphic is in the wrong direction for southern hemisphere locations. The azimuth graphic on dish plan view is 180 degrees out for southern hemi use. Text looks correct. Has problems on iPad with landscape display, reluctant to let go of portrait mode. I'd like to see manual entry of lat/long for pre-installation planning (still using Dishpointer for that.)

TOO EASY. Just bought a dish from the caravan and camping show. Found this app by total mistake such an easy app makes the compass provided a bin object. I still used sat finder/squeeler combined with app, done in seconds..........thanks for keeping it simple awesome showed everyone here at caravan park the app

Easy to use. Great App for finding FTA Satellites, all you need to know is the "Type of Satellite" you want and it calculates all the angles for your dish. It even includes a Compass. The icons are at the bottom right of the display screen...

Junk. Not even close!

Perfect. Tried other apps BUT this one worked perfect the first time. Had spent a hour with my other app and literally 3 min with this one. Thanks it worked for me.

Siggestion. A clever app. Wasted a lot of time in the past trying to align free to air satellites. Inclinometer is possible additional feature to help set the angle of the dish, but also take into account corrections for the offset angle introduced by the motorized tracker.

I like. Lots of data available including sat location in the sky, dish aiming parameters and available transponders. Able to select alternate locations with ease. Satellite map of your location as overlay to taget bird. Recommend this app.

Close but not quite. Nicely set up and easy to use but in my area it is out by about 15° which coincidentaly the amount of the magnetic declination here. Same result on multiple satellites. At least I can look up the settings in the app and then use a compass.

Very useful. This application is very helpful for pointing dish, only it get better if we could save the pictures for further offline use.

Doesn't work 👎. How does it work. There is nothing explaining how you use it!!! Just a satellite picture that moves all around the screen & a list of 98 satellites which doesn't include my Bell dish. I don't see the point in this App at all!!

Hmmmm not convinced yet. So i lined my own sat dish up by the tv and sat align function in options. Way ive always done it in the past its a patience thing and small movements to get the signal right. Anyway i was working on repairs in my trailer and decided to set up the dish and tripod to watch tv while i repaired. And i lined the bugger up worked like a charm. Got the idea that hmm maybe there is a app to make this easier when we go places. It was already lined up so i turned on the app and see if it showed the same and it did so i thought sweet. Took a trip in a few days a overnighter and wanted to set up the dish and ya know what incouldnt get it to come close to finding a signal. Infinally gave up and watched a movie instead. Next morning after hubby left tried it again with dish align . No dice, went back to the old standby and got it aligned and did it again my way when i got home Again. So i dont know folks if these things work or not seemed simple enough app and straight forward but when it showed in green and aligned i had no signal.

Loose ads by making contributions. Not sure how it works but I did contribute to get rid of ads. That did not work. I still have ads.

Only partially works. The map function points to the bird I am trying to tune in to, however when in compass mode the compass seems to work in reverse to the actual direction of the sat. iPhone 4 82w and 91w my lat is 48.55 long is -58.62

Not working very well!. Had high hopes for this app but its a dud so far. I wish developers of such apps would include (numbered) steps on how to use it on a actual sample sattelite. As it is now, I am stuck on "select the Sattelite screen" and I dont see ANY to select from! Disapointed to say the least!

Hands down great app!. This one is a very powerful tool for getting your sat setup. I’ve installled dishes for a living and recommend this for the DIY people. Good Luck! Read up on how to align a dish. If you don’t have time see below. Always follow these steps. 1. Ensure the mast is plumb. This is a critical step. Don’t skip it. 2. Set the skew. And leave it. No further changes should be necessary to the skew. Adjust the elevation. This will require fine tuning. 3. Set the dish on the mast and aim for the satellite azimuth. Again fine tuning. Use your sat signal strength screen on your tv to see what you have and fine tune for the highest possible signal. Keep in mind that a lack of phone cell towers can affect the accuracy as well as power lines ,metal structures.

Don't give them money. Made a contribution when "any" amount was "supposed" to remove ads, but the ads remain. Several attempts to contact the developer have been ignored. My hope is that I can convince some of you to NOT give this developer your hard earned dollars.

Useless. I phone never Points in the same direction twice. Totally and utterly useless for aiming your dish. Does have good info about the satellites. That part is nice but Don't plan on using this to set up your installation.
