Looking good on the iPad mini. This new update fixed all the weirdness on the mini, but also noticed my car packs were locked again! I was able to get them back though by going through the purchase prompts again. Looks like it may recharge you but it detected I already had them!

Sounds stop working after first use. Extremely annoying. Even if you open the app and close it, it no longer makes noise. Definitely asking Apple for a refund.

Horrible app. The car sound only works when I have music playing and and when I pause the song the app is mute also. I paid $2 for the app and you gave to purchase more cars for $2 more each?

Dont Purchase. Just learned how to drive, so I first saw this app I was eager to try it . Waste of my $2. GPS is completely off with driving, so when your at a stop sign it takes blasts rev sounds at gear 5. You also get access to 1 car despite the advertisements. If youve got money to spend, go donate it

Car pack bug. Great app but I bought the car pack and it says I have no internet yet I have service and internet will rate higher when I get my cars

Terrible.. I bought the 4 pack, and when i paid for it, it told me there was a problem with my internet connection, when in fact there was not, and would not download the package. This app took 5 dollars from me and gave me nothing.

App crashes when making purchases. Can't make any purchases because it crashes every time I tap a different car. Please fix!

In-App Purchasing. I bought some of the cars off of internet and it told me that I needed to connect to internet. I figured that the purchase was unsuccessful so when I got home and looked at my iTunes it told me that the purchase was successful... I did not get any of the cars and I’d like a refund for the cars please. App is also great!

Purchase Failed. “Please check your Internet connection and try again” after paying for the app and the 4 car package I keep getting the same message. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get the app to download spent the money but it just won’t work???!!!

Paid but didn’t get.. I paid for the 5 dollar 4 pack and when it said im all good to go the app itself said no internet connection which I checked and the internet is working perfect. Could use some assistance on this.

Absurd, total waste of Money. No way to make the setup permanent, app will require the setup procedure on each launch. Once setup, the app is still extremely buggy, and will spend most of the time in highest gear, regardless of the actual speed. This is the worst app I’ve ever come across.

Love the app, one issue for myself.. I love having this app to trick my family and friends, and have spent money to buy the different cars, but if you delete the app, there is no way to restore your purchases. I would say that having an Restore Purchases button would be very helpful.

Also lost my cars, was free to redownload. After the update, I lost all my cars. Worked great before. Still works great with just the free car, but I want all my cars back. When I get them I will change to 5 stars. Emailed the company and Miguel was very helpful. He informed me that as long as I use the same iTunes account that originally purchased the cars it would not charge me. I tried it and at first it does look like it will charge you, but after you input your iTunes password a pop-up window says that you have already purchased it and can download it for free. I got all my cars back.

Requests/criticisms. Great app! I've had it for over a year now. I love it. Although I would like to see an option for the voice to be turned off (reset to idle; drive forward). Also I've had some problems with low speeds. When first moving after a light, it waits for a second or so then rapidly accelerates. I'd also like to see that smoothed out a bit.

Rip off. Don't waste money. Only one car sound. All others cost extra. Only senses GPS. Very inaccurate. Still reving when car is stopped. Starts revving after I am at speed. I feel like a sucker for wasting my money.

Won’t give me other cars. I love the original car sound so i purchased the 4 pack for $5 but it took my money and didn’t give me the cars. So i really wanted the lambo sound so i just bought that one. I payed $2 and didn’t even get that sound either. I am now $7 poorer than i was 15 minutes ago with nothing in return. Please help.

Lost all previous purchases in update.. I had purchased the entire in app package, and now I can only open the car that comes with the app. Please fix this problem.

Paid for the four pack... but. The app says no internet connection after the purchase was complete. Tried a few times to download again for free since I already purchased the four pack. Same message over and over. The app looks like it’s trying to unlock the 4 pack but fails.

I lost my cars. I used this app a few times before I updated it. I payed the 4 pack, to unlock all the cars and after the update now it is making me pay for them again, with no option to restore purchases. I’ll raise my review if this bug gets fixed

Unable to restore purchases. I bought the 4 pack sometime ago. App says restore successful and crashes, but still does not unlock on restore of purchases.

don’t buy this app. This game is trash and is a waste of money and doesn’t even start the app and you have to buy more cars that cost more than the app and also only have 5 cars . honestly I would like a refund

Great app! :). Sorry for the bad reviews, some people are not very teck savvy. With a good speaker it can make a impala sound like a Lamborghini! Got the rest of the cars, all of them sound a little similar but it is alright. :)

Took 5 bucks. I have had this app for a minute already and I Decided to buy decided to buy the five dollar deal and everything went Normal and my phone said the purchase was successful but right after that the game told me that the purchase was unsuccessful so I spent five dollars and it didn’t give me anything I am mad

1 car sound for $1.99!!!???!?. What a bunch of crap!!!! Charge me for the sounds if you give the app for free but to charge $1.99 to buy the app then only get one car sound and have to spend even more money to get any of the other car sounds is garbage. At least let me chose what car I want if I only get one sound with initial purchase.

Horrible ripoff. $1.99 for the app $4.99 for all the cars which you never get. If everyone is having the same issue and the developer does nothing to fix and doesn’t respond back to emails that must show you something. They are taking your money and laughing about it. UPDATE FOR IOS 12 MORONS

Money Stealer. Purchased the 4 pack and it doesn't show within the app that I purchased it but my money was still taken even though I received nothing in return. It is a money stealing app as of now for me. And when I try to click the 4 pack it tries to get me to purchase it for a second time.. absolute waste of money as of now. Very disappointed.

Best engine sound changer for cars!. This is awesome, I was able to go in my car and have the most fun I've ever had, the sound kept up well with my cars speed, the gear changing was weird , but most of all still turn the stereo up all the way!

It won’t work. Everytime i Open the app it glitches out and it says if I want a video tutorial and if I click yes or no nothing happens

not compatible. i downloaded this app a couple days ago and it’s not compatible anymore. i just spent $7 for the app and ad ons and now i can’t use it. i would ask for my money back but looks like the creator of this app no longer cares about XLR8.

The app wont work for ipod touch 4g. Hi regards this problem that i had , The app wont run after i purchase it, when i click on ok after i've download it the app crash and when i open it back and click again its say my internet is offline while it isn't hope the development team do something about this thing or refund me as the app wont run on my device,deduction has already been made but the app wont run properly, i have contacted your team through email but sadly there is no reply from you guys. It has been three day from the time and i hope to hear a reply from you guys soon.

Please upgrade. Please update the app to work with iOS 11. I just paid $5 for this game yesterday and then I updated to iOS 11 and it no longer works. I will have to refund otherwise. Love the app though!

Half Functional. App does not play sound through the iPhone 5's speaker or the dock cable when connected to my car. Sounds are okay but lack bass. Not a fan.

Cool, but kinda broken. The app is a cool concept. However, I'm not sure why it doesn't work too well. When I'm moving slowly in traffic, it'll make an idling engine sound, and then suddenly rev the engine. All this while I'm driving at the same speed and RPM.. I suspect that the app is using GPS to determine when you're moving instead of the accelerometer. Developers, please give us some clarity on this in the app description (or better, just fix it to work better!)

Meh. Pros: fun app. Great engine sound. Base price for app ok Cons: hard to get it “dialed in” to somewhat match the drive of my car Not very responsive to accelerometer on phone Purchased the other engine sounds and will not successfully download. Retried multiple times with cellular data and WiFi. Will try a few more times then request refund for the other engines. Driving at highway speeds and when dropping elevation, simulated engine would downshift and hold in first gear until going up a hill. A bit wonky

Works!! It really works!!!. Fantastic app! It transforms my family pickup truck into a fire-breathing, man-eating monster V8 with a racing cam and loping idle!!! It works great; you just have to follow the instructions in the app. The phone must be mounted inside your vehicle, facing upright. Come to a complete stop then tap the engine icon and follow the verbal instructions to set it up the first time.

They took my money. I just bought the car pack that unlocks all the cars and each time it tells me to connect to the internet and try again cause the purchase failed. Help

Love It. I have to laugh at the negative reviews. I use it on an electric ebike with a Bluetooth speaker in order to give it noise. The app works beautifully. The other solutions in order to accomplish this would cost hundreds of dollars. I just wish the developer would develop a jet engine noise which would be a more appropriate noise for an E bike. Could you please do that? As for the people who complain about restoring purchases, they should know that all Apple apps work the same way. You have to click to buy it again but Apple then always gives you a pop-up notice that says you don’t have to pay for it again because you have already purchased it. The fact that so many people criticize the app over something that they should understand is truly pathetic.

$2 not gonna get you far. They make you spend $2 to download the app and next thing you know you have to spend up to $5 per car sound to unlock the car(s) you want. $2 will only get you the app with one crappy car noise. Not recommended.

Not updated for IOS11. I bought this game and also paid for an in game car sound a week ago but after the IOS11 update, I no longer have access to the car sound that I paid for. It’s asking me to pay for it again, not happy. Besides that when the app does work it works well which is why I’m giving it two stars instead of just one.

Bad.. Car throttle sound does not match speed of actual car speed well at all and you must keep phone on, app running and cannot be ran in background and drains battery.

Change it back. The app worked great when I downloaded it on google play. But now on apple store all the nice cars are locked. I tried to purchase them but it didn’t work.

I story about buying a Lamborghini sound, and then all the cars, but every time I’ve tried purchasing them, Apple says that I’ve already purchased it, then says to download it again for free but when I do, the app itself says purchased fields, please try again, and when I try again it does the same thing.

Doesn’t work. I on an iPhone, watched the tutorial, followed instructions closely, tried changing various settings, but it doesn’t do anything. “Engine” just stays in idle even when I’m moving.

Important message about the app. Why make me pay for the app when I have to pay for all the cars in the app how dumb is it to make me spend more money on cars when I have to pay for the app make the app free or make all the cars free it not fare on people who have brought the app taking people’s money making them basically pay for the same thing twice Like it’s not like I got the app for free on iOS (Very disappointed)

Sound is off when breaking. Works ok but when breaking I noticed it doesn't drop down gears just stays in gear. The rev option is cool however for .99 cents should include all 5 cars.

Sounds good...but in app purchase limited?. App sounds cool, but I noticed that the in app purchase to get the other cars will not sync to my iPad after purchasing via my iPhone. Disappointing.

Fix bugs. Please fix bugs with an update ASAP. Only 1 car type offered, you have to buy the others in the app. That's a joke when you already have paid for it :-( Otherwise very cool.

Rip off and dosent even work. What sounded like a cool app is actually a rip off. $0.99c gives you access and then you pay for other cars and the app dosent even work! Dosent sense the gear change of the car so you end up redlining in 1st or 2nd. Not cool

Nope don't do it!. Sounds good but doesn't come close to matching engine. Revving and driving whilst stopped, nothing whilst moving, multiple resets!! Even for free it's rubbish!!

fun. This is a bit of fun! I used an audio connection cable so had no dropout/bluetooth issues at all. Can't say I'll spend any more money on it - $3 for an additional car is a bit expensive for what you get - but for 99c I turned my 10 year old family wagon into a V8 supercar for a trip to the shops and that's cheap fun. Got to watch out for the speeding though!

It's good. It's a good start however for the price or even one more dollar all the cars should be included. When reset to idle it glitches a little. I would love to hear to gear change when I physically change gears just like the iboost app responds.

Really cool. I paid for a car but didn’t get it, got the invoice to prove, If only it maintained revs on long straights instead of returning back to idle, should only slow revs when slowing down. Alright I’m 35 just a big kid but still fun for short bursts around the block

suggested change. Good idea, but the accelerometer should be used to change gears as well. So as the car slows for the gear change the accelerometer should sense this, then as it accelerates out of the gear change the app should automatically change gears, rather than at an adjustable rev point.

😡😡. Why can't I restore purchases, I wasted my money on this app

Expensive for what you get novelty. This app is a ripp off. All cars should be included for $.99 - not just one car! But then all can be forgiven if it works well, which it doesn't. The cars just rev to redline in every gear even though you are driving like a granny. It cannot sense gear changes in a manual. Biggest lemon of an app i have ever purchased. Wouldn't even get it even if it's free!

Best app in the history of the universe. Update has not recognising my purchase of all cars.. not happy. Hopefully this glitch will be promptly fixed. Previously a big fan of a fun app. And given how long it’s been between updates, could you have recorded at least one other car in between then and now? Happy to pay something for a quality evolving product, so c’mon guys & girls. Previous review below; Having heaps of fun and laughs with my mates as we trick friends with my wild lumpy Hyundai i30. Great braking and gear options, can't wait for more cars. Great stuff!

Buggy - but a great idea when it works. Brilliant idea - but the sound come and goes - could not get any volume when connected to car audio kit. Unplugged - still no sound. Deleted app & reloaded (btw do not try this - it loses previous in App car purchases - another beta version glitch) got sound again - but lost it when plugged into car kit. Now silent once more. Wait for a more stabile, better tested version.

Waste of time - laggy and unpredictable. Sound changes (rpm and gear selection) bear little resemblance to the vehicle’s movement/speed. Useless.

Fantastic app.. Don't listen to the negative reviews, just spend a few minutes tweaking the settings. My Rav 4 is much improved with this cool and fun app. I would really like to see more sounds, possibly like a diesel pickup, transport truck diesel engine, porche maybe the jetsons car. Thanks for a fun app. PS there was a show on discovery channel years ago called Beyond 2000 a show about future tech. There was a car featured on it that had the same system similar to Xlr8 built into it but required a huge computer to generate the same sounds that the iPhone can.

Terrible is an understatement. I can’t believe people have to pay for this app. Buying a coffee for the same price is more worth your time. First of all, this thing is an absolute scam.. it just doesn’t work. No matter how you try to tune it, or no matter how many times you re-download it, the system it’s self is broken. Poor production. And the in-app purchases?! Ridiculous. 7$ FOR 4 CARS?! That don’t even WORK?! You’re better off buying a beer. This app should be removed from the App Store.

Only one car per pack. Don't buy the in app's. The only good sounding one is the one you get in with the basic app. It works REALLY well 75% of the time. But you need to do what it says. Start off in park then move when prompted. Each "pack" is only one car. I thought I'd be getting several in each pack to select from. Be aware of this before purchasing. That having been said, I found it surprisingly accurate....and a helluva lot of fun, driving along in my Chevy Traverse sounding like a wicked Chevvy Camero! I read about a pack you buy for $80 that does just this (with hardware). Might be a little better but 99c at 75% accuracy beats $80 at 100% accuracy any time in my book. Great job 2XL!

Staying optimistic.. Being inaccurate and inconsistent. Would be cool if it could read OBD2 Wifi readers for real time RPM, because the gear changes are really confusing when driving. It's ok, but could be better.

Imressed. Although i feel silly using it, it worked great and i was really impressed with the default car. The ferrari sounded more artificial. For those stating it worked bad i suggest listening to the tutorial and making sure the device is fixed.

Does not work. Cannot even select yes or no at the intro screen. Button does not work and the display is off center. How can I be refund.

It's ok.. The sound is very crisp and clear. However, the calibration of this app is way off. It doesn't shift when I do which makes it sound kinda silly. I think that with I bit of work on the way the app reacts to the accelerometer is all it needs to be possibly the best app of its kind. Worth getting, not worth buying the in-app purchases. (For now, that is)

Doesn’t work with iPhone 7 Plus. Screen is crop on top and you need to press buttons where you think they should be instead of where they appear on the screen. I just wasted a few bucks on this...

Terrible lag. Terrible lag. Revs don't match actual speed most of the time. I could be idling at a stop light and this thing is revving up to 3rd gear. You have to accelerate and break real hard to make this thing pick up changes in your speed. And the worse part is, they made the app free the one day after releasing it. App store needs to bring in a price guarantee for 7-10 days!!!

Fun. Its a fun app. And it does work properly after a little play. Listen to the tutorial and u may need to stop the car and press the reset button once or twice for it to work properly. But once its set it works great. I showed it to a couple friends they thought it was cool as well. Not sure if id roll the windows down and blast it though. Not surr how it would look or sound from another vehicle

Stupid. Don't buy. Cost $.99 and if you want more then one car, it'll cost ya $.99 per car. There's four cars in total that's $4.00 dollars before tax or you can buy all four for get this $4.99. Awesome deal.

It's a cool idea. It dose not work as well as its has been described in the description for iPhone 3GS .. but if you have passenger it could control manually.. It's sounds good inside the car and you only get one car the rest you need to purchase ..

This game needs to be updated. It does not work properly, it’s too slow to recognize the movements of the car. It also needs to be VERY stable and smooth for it to work right.

Too much fun!. OK, this app is a hoot. Fired it up in my Accord this morning and my kids were freaking out! Had it going on my way to work and it worked really well. Just make sure you have it secured well in your car so your device can't move around. If your device is sliding around it can throw XLR8 off a bit. Once I had my phone secured in my console and did the calibration it worked amazingly well! VERY COOL!!!! Can't wait to try the other engines!

Fun app, works pretty good!. I bought this app 2 days after test driving a 2012 Chevy Camaro. I was stoked to find out the bundled in car in this app was the new Camaro! This app makes driving around my 109 HP 4 cylinder import a lot more fun! A couple features I would love to see would be a volume control so that I can listen to music at a higher level than the engine sound and background processing so that I don't have to restart the app after exiting the app while driving. Other features that would be nice would be built in vehicle profiles for the settings page. This and perhaps a way to manually set shifting times to closer match my gear shifting pattern. I can also see vehicle modding via custom in-app parts purchasing and engine tweaking being a fun feature, especially with gearheads. Overall great app!

This application does not work!. It does not work on XS Max with ios 12.1.2. screen trimmed. return money or give a working version.

Pretty cool. Nice app. Interface is nice. My car sounds amazing already, but this app is fun to play with in manual mode! Would be cool to add more cars, and it is a bit annoying that you have to pay for more sounds... Also if you have an iPad, you need to pay twice for the car pack even if you purchased it on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Awful. Does not work it’s not synced at all I’ve reset the app pressed the engine button numerous times I’ll be in Park and it’ll be Reving at 4th gear I want a refund

Fun and accurate!. This app works as advertised and does NOT make random engine noises. Secure your phone vertically rather than horizontally and adjust the settings for the sensitivity. It works great in my hybrid car with the shift point set to economy and the gear ratios set to shorter. The acceleration and deceleration matches my car perfectly! You might have to adjust the settings to get it to match your own vehicle. Either way it's fun and I'm glad there are options available for me to adjust the acceleration to the car I happen to be driving .

Sucked. This game is horrible it is a waste of time DO NOT DOWNLOAD

No sound. Doesn't play any sound at all. I tried aux cable, charging cable connected to car speakers, Bluetooth, and the phones speakers. Nothing. I have an iPhone 5s. I'd like a fix, or a refund.

SCAM. You paid $1.99 to use this app than you have to pay more to use the other 4 sounds which cost .99 to $2.99 or $4.99 for all 4 sounds. Only the first V8 Sound is free. I think this is a scam!

Love this app!!!!. Bought this app few hours ago and I have been roaming the streets ever since and enjoying everyone's reaction to the sound. This app is for every 18 year old who wanted to get a lambo but was a few bucks short, for every middle aged man who couldn't get the Ferrari because he had to send his kids to school, simply this app is for everyone.

Sweet. This app is so cool!!! Amazing that it knows when your speeding up and slowing down!! This is a must have app for anyone wanting to pretend there driving a cool car instead of a crap car they had to settle with!!! Great job developers!!! Hopefully there will be more cars added soon!!

Love it!. I'm a gamer at heart and usually don't bother with non-gaming related apps, but this one caught my attention right away. I drive a hybrid around town, and let me tell you, seeing people's faces when I drive by with my little hybrid sounding like a Lamborghini is priceless!!! Sounds are great, setup is relatively easy (make sure to secure device before the voice says "drive forward", or it won't be calibrated correctly), and if you have a decent stereo you'll be feeling like the king of the road within seconds lol. I can't wait to see which new engine sounds will be available in the future...gotta give props to 2XL for trying something new and innovating.

Bad. It shifts to fast and I bought the 4 pack and after 1 hour it was telling me I need to buy it again don't get the app

Terrible!!. The sound isTerrible and the sound is simulating outside of the car not in. Who ever created this app should have a better or more realistic exhaust sound.
