Imaginative. Took me 3 minutes of playing around before I cashed out for the full version. It is one of those apps that makes you think "OK, I have to give these guys something in return". I was already impressed by DM1 but this thing comes from a different paradigm. I love how diverse this company turned out to be.

Brilliant app. I use my ipad mostly for music, I have used dozens of music apps from synth emulators, audiobus and other interesting sound generators and sequencers. Yet this app combines them all in a unique experimental ecosystem, you can export a performance and build from there. I can see plenty of missing features, yet it's the potential that gives this 5 stars. I'd love to see a simple synth engine for the sound generators, perhaps audiobus would be good but almost not necessary.

Tutorial. I tried the tutorial, but on stage 4 of it, when you go try to use the sequencer, black hole, and other thing, it won't scroll. I would give it a 5 star, but a glitch in the tutorial is a very, very big flaw. Once it's fixed, I would give a 6 star out of five. If I could.

Absurdly Cool. I own just about every iOS app for music, and have used iPad production setups most recently with artists like Adrian Belew and NIN. I only bring that up to say that out of 100+ apps, this is the first one I've ever written a review on. This is an ingenious app, and probably the most fun I've had using a mobile device. Just try it out! Using your own samples (a great update!) and reprocessing the output of Musyc has led us down all sorts of interesting paths. Highly recommended.

Incredible. This is an incredibly cool app. Addictive! It’s more than a music exploration sequencer. It can be a game, an art installation, ideas scotch, math helper. Last but not least, this app is great for relaxation. If you’re having insomnia, this app actually helps me fall asleep. No, it’s not boring, it’s just listening to the rhythm and watching it’s visual representation has an incredible calming effect. I wish there was a way to add MIDI out to this app. This would be over!!!

No "Tokens" to Save to Dropbox. I was actually ready to upgrade to the full version, but wanted to save the "song" I had made. I chose to save to Dropbox (there is no option to save within the Musyc app itself). It opened Dropbox, but then told me that I did not have a "token" to use that feature. When I tried to return to the Musyc app, it had frozen. I had to force quit and lost my recording anyway. Bad impression there. I went from ready to upgrade to deleting the app in the space of less than a minute. Why won't developers tell you upfront about "features" before they let you waste your time trying to use them?

Cool but confusing. The concept is super cool and the visual design is really beautiful. But I feel like it's a bit too complicated. There are too many options so everything in the end just gets confusing. When I went through the tutorial, at first things seemed simple enough, but by the time I got to chapter 2, I was completely lost...

Love it!. Now two things that would make this app insanely great: 1. Audiobus support. 2. More drum samples or midi out to drive different drums. Otherwise, I love this app! It's so much fun! Some people just won't get why this app is so much fun, but there are so many apps out there that are exactly like each other, it's refreshing to see something new. Yes this isn't exactly a "new" concept, but the extra features are what make this a standout app. I bought all the extras and it was worth it.

visual audio art not music creation. I found this app to be more about art then music. It's not really revolutionary how it creates music. If your looking for a creative way to explore new sounds/music, look elsewhere. BUT if you just enjoy spending long hours making something for yourself thats visually creative then you might like this.

Completely insane idea, love it!. This game/toy-box/music creator/art thing is crazy. I immediately fell in love with the ascetic and the ludicrous methods with which you can create music. I've seen similar apps, but none as mad and experimental as this one. Everyone should try it, if for no other reason then to experience the idea.

Who developed this. On mommas this the worst app ever bro. Waste of $4 , made the purchase then uninstalled it.. if I want to use the pro features again I have to pay another $4 .. come on now

A truly unique approach to music creation in general!. Not only an extremely interesting way to think about making music on a touch device, but also a very unique way to approach music making in general. This is actually a pretty powerful generative music software. The export options are lacking the audio-visual interactive experience that the app creates. I would love to see an export to web page or java package or something. Also there are endless interfacing possibilities that could be wished for. A great app! fingerlab makes the best and most affordable apps around.

New Update coming soon. The app is super awesome , I also found out that the audio engine of Musyc will be rebuilt , the midi, and the audio is wil l come out . Deserves a 5 star

Neat!. I like this little thing a lot! I'm not really sure I understand all the people who say this is a "noise" making app - it took me about 5 minutes to make a track with consistent rhythm and melody. Not as immediate as Figure, but it's way more flexible. I am curious as to why the keys only go from C to G# though.

Wonderful!. This application is innovative and fun! It is a nice departure from the typical "keys on the screen" approach to mobile music production. I have to say that I have seen some poor reviews that reflect more upon the reviewer's inability to understand the app (which doesn't make the application bad) than the usability of the application. Pay attention in the tutorial and you will have loads of fun! The creativity that can be applied with this application is nearly limitless.

If I could only give 6 stars.... Musyc integrates a simple and yet powerful ensemble of ound objects, based on the concept of contemporary electronic music composition. We have seen similar softwares/hardwares used by artists like Bijork, L.Anderson and B.Eno. Musyc proposes the same type of concept in a inexpensive package, bringing to everyone a simple and playful interface to let people explore sound in a unique way, never seen before on a consumer device like an iPad. I played Musyc for 3 minutes when i rushed to the online store to unlock the full package of sounds, shapes, behaviors and many other add-ons. I play experimental electronic music and sound art, using a wide selections of music apps, vintage hardware and Csound programming. Yet, Musyc turned out to be the most exciting tool I had the chance to play in years. IDEAS and BUG REPORTS: - Once selecting a wall I would love to have the option to change scale, possibly choosing among chromatic, arabic, japanese... This would make the generated sound patterns more suited for multitrack recording, layering other instruments and music apps to create a more complex composition. - Even though i use an iPad3, the app randomly crashes (very often). Nothing to be worry about though... it just came out and it probably needs some further adjustments. Overall Musyc is a wonderful project, and probably the most interesting generative music instruments for iOS.

Amazing with a complaint. There are so many possibilities with this app and plus with the MIDI update coming up soon it just makes this a must have for those who like creating music in a different way (experimentally- through shapes in this case). However, for me, the app always crashes whenever I try to email/ send to iTunes or drop box and so the developers should fix that problem. I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this but if they do that's more the reason to fix this. Overall, it's great!

Interesting. Definitely an interesting and creative app, reminds me of soundrop but with more variables and better physics, but it needs some optimizations. I can't buy the full app knowing that if I do It will not be able to render the more intricate works at close-to-full speed. I also agree that a user created database would be amazing and would send ratings for this app through the roof

I Love It, but there's one major problem.. My problem is, whenever I open the app and click one of the compositions that come by default or one I made over a week ago, Musyc crashes and it will not let me use it. Please, I really love this app, fix this ASAP!!! Thank You For Your Time! -Potato

In-app purchases? why?. I absolutely love this game. Very interactive and easy to use. The in-app purchases were to be expected, though. But what would make this app go really over the top for me...? A user created database, where users can browse others creations.

very nice. Completely different approach to making sound. Using physics to trigger you can get polyrhythms and continuously changing patterns. You can morph notes, scale, tempo. The samples are cool, but it would be great to import your own. Also with virtual midi out it would be a monster.

Much fun. I just got this app. I'm a musician with tons of tools and I'm wasting way too much of my time with this goofy thing. A total blast.

Brilliant. On first use, I thought it was pretty cool just to make things bounce around, but with each new piece, I'm finding new clever ways to make real music. I'm completely captivated. I've yet to add modules, and there's a ton to do with the base app, but I may be expanding soon-so many clever add-ons.

Amazing!. This is a revolutionary way to make music in a really awesome interface and style. It's like making a soundtrack to a game that you create and control, but the game is making that music and pushing things around and changing them while it runs. Nice work!

Great, but has a few drawbacks.... The design and concept of the game is fantastic, and I was surprised that there are many controls available to the player without having to purchase more (of course, some controls require add-ons). However, I've found that if i simply close out of the app and reopen it, it will often be frozen the way that I last left it, and there will be no way to get to the menu to start a new project. Please address this issue!! I'm not sure if anyone else has had similar problems, but I've tried restarting my phone, but the problem persists...

Amazing. Only missing a few things.. This would easily be my favorite music making app if there was a sample function, or build your own instrument function. It's almost like beatsurfer if beatsurfer was a standalone app that played itself. I understand its function but I'd like to jam on it in a similar manner. This could be where it exceeds other apps though it, allows for an almost random music making experience. Coupled with other apps, this could become a very powerful tool. As a controller it would be incredible. No audiobus support yet. Looks like everything I want is coming in the next update. Sounds amazing! Can't wait for that.

Not really a "music making" app. I wouldn't say this is under the "music making" app category at all, instead I would describe it as a "sound making" app. That being said, I can't see how someone could make any real music with this app. Can you play around with cool sounds in an original way? Definitely. But if you think this will be an app like Garageband or Figure, that's not the case. Only redeeming quality to this app is it does run very smoothly and the interface is simple.

Deceptive In-App Purchases. Edit: latest update has no presets, they are gone and so are the developers apparently. This is a cool music app but there is a problem with the in-app purchases. You are presented with a variety of in-app purchases and then the last purchase listed is the "Full Version". The problem is, it is not clear that you can simply buy the full version instead of the other in-app purchases. So, if you buy the first couple of add-ons, then buy the full version, you pay twice as much as if you had just bought the full version from the start. Thus, a 2-star not-cool rating.

You got a love the app. First of all if you don’t pay five or six dollars I just hit the restart button to get everything for free so that is a Bonus and the app is fun and enjoyable. This is not a full Music maker if you’re looking for that there’s alternatives like garage band of Korg gadget 2. But what does app has it nothing like anything else on the App Store I like it like that enjoyable and uniqueness to this app.

Teeter. This makes me feel like a teeter and it is a great game to play.

So awesome!. There are very few apps that both my daughters & I love. My 5 year old loves creating pictures that make music and my two year old loves dropping random sounds to see what happens. I love the quirkiness and ability this gives you to make music. It works amazingly well on my iPhone and iTouch 5.

Must Have App. Musyc is an app that is part toy box, part musical instrument, and all creative compositional tool. You can play, experiment, and create. This app is very easy to pick up and play. The devs are creative musicians and programmers, which shows as Musyc goes much deeper than its simple interface would indicate. This app reminds me of Max (as in Max for Live), something that obviously has gone over some reviewers' heads. Comparing Musyc to a wind chime not only misses the point, it is like saying you have no sense at all. Get this app if you play music and love to create. How many apps let you design sounds, create your instruments, and then compose something that plays itself? Reverb, a step sequencer, even a motion recorder to "humanize" your composition--it's all there, and much more to discover. This is an app that will delight you and amaze you.

Coolest idea ever. Wish I could share.. This app is beautiful. And it lets me make beautiful things. My 4 year old daughter can use it. Dev Team please please please give me a away to share my work (graphics and musyc). Think DrawSomething2. Build a community in the App to let people share and browse and it'll make you rich ;) you're welcome.

Great App!. This app is overall very interesting to play around with, but its controls are very confusing sometimes. You have to use two fingers for some things, and three for others. I think it is a great concept but needs some work. Also, I just wanted to point out to all you Doctor Who fans that if you press FX, you can make it sound like a Dalek!

Interesting concept. I like this concept quite a bit. It's interesting to see sounds you are making visually. However, I felt as though I had a lack of control over the sounds I was creating. I'd love to be able to synchronize things and set my own scales (I did not purchase anything in the app, so I don't know if IAPs give you features like this).

Good app. This is an app that I have been using since iPhone 4 and it makes a lot of fun for me. But it is pitiful that some preset music is different on iPhone 4 and latest models of iPhone, which means I can never hear what I heard when I was using iPhone 4. I really want a new update, but the update log had stopped 5 years ago.

Update?. I would buy the Pro version if I knew this app was still being worked on and supported. Will we see an update?

Amazing cannot put it down!. This is my new favorite app. It is simply mesmerizing with all the musical possibilities and surprise sound combinations. I love creating a "work of art" in pause mode, then turning it on to see what it sounds like. Ok gotta go play it some more...

Cool app. Really cool app

Music, physics, shapes ..... It an awesome app even for people like me who just listen to music with no education related to music. My only complain is that it freezes so often on my 3gs and keeps me from having fun and some touch issues that doesnt let me to choose options properly. Please Keep the updates coming and thank you genius dev for this genius app.

Love the idea but.... The concept of this app is great the addition of adding in your own samples a big plus but this app has too many audio glitches while recording to be truly usable. I'm using an iPad 2 and I can't get more than a minute with out sound cutting out even with a simple layout. If there was a way to lower CPU usage with maybe a low res mode or something for users with older iPads.

Creative app needs more work. Dropbox support doesn't work because the app is still in "developer mode" - they need to fix that! Otherwise creative app, would be nice to be able to change sounds more drastically - maybe even custom. Also more objects that could impact the sounds would be nice. Great start tho. Audiobus support please.

Wow--gets richer the more time you spend with it. This is a really remarkable app. Creates the opportunity for endless experimentation and learning. lots of fun discovery! The next step will be letting users share creations in a social way within the app, which will open up all kinds of innovation and interest!

One thing to ruin it all. Remove the shape limit or add an option to disable it PLEASE

Coolifier. I don't know music, as in being able to read music, but guess what ? Now I don't care. I just completed in-app purchase of the whole bucket of goodies! It's a good thing that I'm retired. I see hours upon hours of great fun with this app. My wife told me it is the product of very creative software engineering and mathematics and boring things like that from the ' real ' world. HA! I know magic when I see it.

Ingenious!!!. This is the absolutely the most fun, creative but also has high production value. Beautifully designed! Just get it and you will never see making music the same way. You could also import it in garbage band as an element for your serious production. Need I say more?

Just a whole lot of fun. This is crazy fun to muck around with. I’ve been using it for years, and every time I use it I find more depth to it. One app that’s stood the test of time. You actually have a whole lot of power over many different parameters.

Endless possibilities. Very addictive program. I've only been jamming on it for a few days but I can already see massive amounts of possibilities. I have had the program glitch a couple of times with more complex setups. The only thing I would like to see is more control over the synthesis of the base sounds. If you could program the sounds from scratch this would be solid five star app. Edit- just received a great update that let's me record my own sounds. I am about to make the app my go to for messed up beats. Very happy with the app.

Lags. Lags really bad, doesn't give any instruction on how to play and I'm not sure if the sound is just bad or if its just lagging too.

Excellent, but read on. This app is amazing, but I have noticed after few minutes of playing, the app will freeze for few milliseconds and then crash. This has happened quite a lot to me. Please fix because this app is awesome and has no problems otherwise. Thankyou

Deaf. The game looks great but the sound isn't coming out properly. I think it's just because I have iOS8 so please update it to be IOS8 compatible.

So fun. One of the more useful unique music apps on iOS. Musyc is lots of fun. Even without the copy/paste addition it would be great using the stock sounds. Lots of creative potential. And it's actually highly usable; it's not just a gimmicky bit of fun. Seriously great app! There's only one thing it's missing: Audiobus support. I believe that's on the card for a future update (I think?), but as it is I can't rate it five stars without Audiobus support. Still great stuff though!

Impeccably good. This is the future look and quality of iOS apps. Clean, flat design, super responsive, fun… I can't give this enough praise. Ignore the fools who get no sounds, this app works fine. There is a lot of hard work in this app and it shows. I'd like to see a performance-art piece made with this instrument. ✔✔

Music Composition for Lateral Thinking or for Meditation. It is not like you're composing music like Mozart or Beethoven, but expressing your curious exploration of objects, their functions and positions in a way that makes musical sense. Play with the objects and develop your own rhythms and melodies. Worth buying in the add ups.

Game changing!. Fingerlab came here with what is probably the most inspiring musical app i used on the Ipad until now. Revolutionnary is not a too strong word here.

Just ok. This is a fun little toy. If you just wanna mess around, it's great. When I try to make anything that sounds like real music, I have to spend huge amounts of time for mediocre results. The extra purchases give you more sound options but that's it. I'm probably going to delete this soon!

Purchased full version, no user Soundkits. I purchased the full version of Musyc on 7/28 and all the features work, except it prompts to purchase every time I try to access User Soundkits. Is there a way to fix this?

It doesn't matter. Not everything is 'useful'. This is a beautifully designed app and it is incredibly addictive.

I love this app!!. I can't believe there r bad reviews!!! Not only is it artsy but u can make really good little tunes just for fun!!! Especially once u get the hang of it, it's super fun!!! Love it!!!!

not just a toy. I thought it would be a toy when I got it ... maybe it used to be a toy (this was a while ago) ... but thanks to the expressive possibilities of the advanced objects and the possibility of importing my own sound sets, Musyc is officially now a grownup toy. Really fun, really powerful.

The most fun/interesting app I've ever used. This is endlessly fascinating. Infinite possibilities. It can be pure fun or you can use it to purposely create new music to share with fans and friends

Horrible now!. I first downloaded pandora a year ago and thought it was great, unlimited music and I could skip songs that I did not like. But now there are these stupid listening limits and even fewer skips! So if you want my advice don't download this until all of these problems are fixed.

Marjohn's Musings. This is a fun app. Think of a complex wind chime you can program like a kinetic sculpture. Soft, soothing sounds and moving sound elements, great for when you are stuck waiting.

Awesome!!. My twelve year old self totally loves this app. It is a truly unique app that uses your creativity, spence of physics, and musical talent to make beautifully amazing masterpieces. If I could rate one app 6 stars, it would definitely be this one.

Soundcloud connection issues. I'm having trouble connecting the app to Soundcloud. It goes to the internet but then says that the address is invalid. Please fix this issue. Other than that, I love this app!

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh?. Why is it that whenever I plug in my earphones most of the sound is coming through one ear? And why is it distorted? Can you fix it?

Great app but crashes a lot. I really love this app but when the tutorial it seems to crash all the time so yeah......but personally that's my only dislike but I think it is a great and fun and creative app

AWESOME APP. This makes you think of unique was to create music with geometric shapes! This is not only great for adults, but also kids! Flawless performance, no crashing, just pure fun!

Awesome creativity tool!. Also fantastic for making interesting loops and beats. All I would ask for is the ability for custom sound sets and more FX slots.

Fun, but crashes.... The app is great but sometimes crashes on my 5th generation iPod touch. This can be very annoying.

Delicious. This delightful app is gorgeous, and with a little tweaking from the user allows some magnificent sounds. The fun is in getting there. Flawless programming.

Solid fun - looking forward to audiobus and midi. Very addictive, but in a creative way. More fun than playing some pointless game! Would be cool to have preset hollow shapes too. Midi over wifi would make it easy to turn creations into usable song elements.

Great App for All. Before I start, I should say I have a master's degree in music so I do have more working knowledge of harmony and rhythm, but either way this app is tons of fun. It's visually stimulating and tons of fun to fool around with. If you study music it'll be even better.

One of the coolest apps Ever!. There is a bit of a learning curve. However, that's what I really like about it. You can get very creative and carried away with this app. I don't have time to say anymore because I need to get back to messing around.

Fantastic pass time!. Fix the few bugs that the poor rating people claim and get a delete button for the undesired (eventually we will have a lot of) songs. Other than that fun for all.

Blah. Umm I don't like it but good graphics, good sound so just because I don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve 5 stars.

Disappointed. This app looks amazing and the concept is incredible, but the sounds aren't quality, switching through all patches and restarting. I hope the dev's release an update or patch cause it s a brilliant premise perfect for visual and auditory creativity.

Very Creative. Love it! Easy enough for a 6 year old to use and sophisticated enough to keep an adult entertained.

Clunky but creative. Its interesting, kind of like the reactable, a little hard to control. Seems they had to sacrifice visual beauty for sound and smooth play. Almost feels they are trying to do too much with the app. Fun for an evening but probably wont spend much time playing again.

Excellent. Very easy to make simple loops which sound good. More complex and interesting things seem possible with the full version.

What a great app is all about!. Not even sure this is a game. It's more like a powerful and incredibly well designed music program that just happens to be bags of fun as well as creatively inspiring.

Sounds. For some reason the sound is messed up. It makes strange high-pitched noises and loud crashes. Does anyone know what's going on?I got the full version and the problem persisted. Don't get the app unless you want this.

Awesome. It's basicely the best music app ever. You can make whatever you want even without the full version. There's an endless amount of possiblities and ITS AWESOME I know I misspelled a lot of words

Fun and useful. I recommend this to anyone interested in making some cool sounds and working with physics type games. Spend the $4 and get the upgrade. It's worth it and do some experimenting.

Amazing. I know there are many unique titles out there in the App Store, and I'm so thankful to have found this one. I wish there was a way to sift through the silt and find jewels like this more often.

Glitch. The app is very fun and useful. It worked for me for about 2 weeks until I tried the undo button. It then froze on me and exited out of the app. It does that every time. Except that, it's a fun app

Brilliant. If you spend more than two minutes with this app you can see that the possibilities for rhythms and music are endless. You can make random "wind chime" sounds or get creative in order to make regular beats and patterns.

Music. Wow it's so much fun im love it The only thing is that I wish I didn't have to pay for extra shapes

Interesting Yet Hard. I find the idea of making music by simply placing shapes interesting, but I find it very hard to do so. I seem to just keep making noise that doesn't sound like music
