The world's BEST classical music magazine. Beyond a huge universe of articles, reviews and links to audio snippets, the articles are really smart. They are not formulaic, the way some magazines can be and they assume the reader is intelligent and well informed. Best of all, we continue to discover true wonders in pretty much ever issue. Music and performers we never knew of, and yet are now among our favorites. Truly the best classical music magazine.

Crashes. Great magazine. Terrible app. The crashes have been going on for a week. Fix already or give a refund!

Comprehensive. But too many supplementary email offferings. Once into a particular issue, though, you're home free.

No US support. Does not support free access (as it claims) to US print edition subscribers

Does Not Give Free Stuff!. I thought it would let me read a magazine for free, but it won't let me!

The best.. Best musical mag app.

One great digital magazine!. Love the integration of music and words

These guys need to get some remedial math training . . .. A six month subscription is $26.99, while a twelve month subscription is $59.99. Hmmmm . . . seems to me I'd get the 6 month subscription, then let it renew in 6 months (for a total of 12 months), and I'd pay only $53.98 (saving $6.01 over the "great deal" on the annual sub). Lordy, and we all thought the British had some brains.

IPad app. I say exactly the same as the first review.

Love the coverage... music absent. I used to subscribe to the print edition and loved it. Later when I found this app, I was thrilled and liked the ability to listen to the tracks digitally. That worked for the first editions. Then with the last two issues the digital music files from the CD are missing. I look forward to the tracks while I read the magazine. With no way to address this malfunction, I’m left wondering if I should cancel.

Where's the free CD?. Where's the free CD? The printed magazine comes with a free CD. This does not.

The best..... It has no competition in the music publication field. BBC Music is head and shoulders above the rest.

So far, a worthless app --- I want a full refund!. I downloaded this app less than an hour ago and paid $6.99 for the October 2014 issue featuring Johannes Brahms. My iPad Air is running iOS 8.0.2. The download of the October issue took forever, but I was nonetheless looking forward to reading this issue. But this was not to be. A split second after I clicked on the issue to open it, the app takes me to the red BBC MUSIC screen, and then CRASHES 100%. I am totally unable to access even one page of the magazine online. I WANT MY MONEY RETURNED TO ME. You have ripped me off, whether intentionally or not. Does anyone know how I can get my $6.99 payment back from either Apple or BBC? (dated October 1, 2014)

Musicman. I've been reading this magazine for many years and have always enjoyed it immensely. The app version is even more enjoyable.

How Is This!!. Got the app.. Might be missing something but have no clue where to find the magazine. Think I found it. But no clue whatsoever where the music is? How to get support. Extremely difficult app to navigate and I am good at that. Had to cancel since I have no clue how this app or magazine with the music works. Wasted some money on this. Too sad. Not User Friendly at all. It is called Customers... Make them happy and make it easy to use.

Music gone again. Have had this subscription for years. This is the third time I can no longer access the CD music. Please fix. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Good music deal. As you essentially get a CD's worth of music with each issue, it's a good deal.

Cannot access as a print subscriber. For years now the support site has stated that "Unfortunately there is no free access to the digital editions as part of a print subscription. In the future we hope to offer this function so that you can upgrade your subscription to enjoy both editions." This app is useless to me until or unless they ever get this fixed in the U.S.

Free for print subscribers?. Claims to give free access to print subscribers, but US subscriber numbers don't seem to work. And it's months later, and they still don't work. And as noted in July, the math is off, the 1 year sub being more than twice the 6 month sub. Face it, these people really want to annoy their american market. And in the latest version, the link to even try to enter your subscription details seems broken. sheesh.

Love BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE. It’s arrival is always a cheering light in my day. Briefly forget the nation’s idiots.

Terrible App and Even Worse Tech Support. This app has gone from mediocre to terrible. Every time a new issue becomes available, the app ceases to function and crashes. I have to delete it and reinstall it to get it to work (which means I have to redownload all of the issues that were archived on my device). Given the fact that downloading an issue is a long and cumbersome process (much longer than any magazine app I use). I have reported this on several occasions to their customer support and have not had the courtesy of a reply or fix. Many times have I truly thought of canceling my subscription because of this. I would also give e them a D+ grade in readability. They need to move to article view capability, like Condé Nast publications use, rather than the outdated “pinch to enlarge an article” approach.

Nice digital music magazine. Lots of well written classical music articles. A free CD's worth of music every month. You can't beat it.

Going downhill. This app used to be great but as usual someone had to ‘redesign’ it. (Read not any better, just different and worse than before) Don’t give me new and worse. Where are the links in the magazines, where is the music, where is any ‘ease of navigation’??? This it really terrible. The actual physical magazine and cd are fantastic and amazing. This is not.

Love it!. Bought the paper version for years and love the online version even more. I only wish my musical knowledge was better so I could sometimes understand the articles a bit better. My fault, not the magazines.

Amp Videos. Unfortunately the so called digital cd is in the format of a sample cd. I.E. You play the first track, then after that is finished you have to manually play the next track. Unbelievable, useless format. I can't sit down and just play it especially if I'm in my car, on my iPa, I can't just play it on my Bluetooth and enjoy, unless they fix this I'm never buying another copy, I love the digital magazine, the CD is useless.

First Rate Digital Magazine. BBC Music magazine is a top notch magazine for classical music providing excellent articles, recommendations and reviews across multiple classical music disciplines. The digital magazine is exemplary of how it should be done: it contains all that is in the print edition as well as very feature-rich multi media links to the various recordings that can be called up instantly from online sources, as well as embedded content that can be played within. I look forward to subscribing for many years.

Bug fix my.... Their newest "bug fixes" made it impossible to open, while I'm still paying for issues I can't read.

Finally working...beautifully!. After not working for the first 6 months of my subscription, the App is now finally working - and I have to say beautifully - following the most recent update (although I had to delete and re-install the App). It's just a shame it took so long to fix the issue.

A Mess. This a great mag but the app is a disaster. Since the latest update it keeps "forgetting" my subscription every time I open it and keeps randomly deleting the issues that I have previously downloaded. Which is especially a drag for this magazine because the files are large and take a long time to download. No problem once, but over and over is terrible. Cmon guys, get it right!

No US support and not mentioned except by reviewers. Wrote to confirm and this is the response ------ Thank you for your email. Unfortunately access to our iPad app is not currently free to our subscribers within the US, due to access issues. We are working to make this possible but do not have a specific date which I can pass onto you at present. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. -------- This should be noted on iTunes and in the magazine. Of course, should I pay, I can access the content. This therefore seems more like a (bad) business decision than a rights issue. And it certainly been managed badly.

Crashing. How do you get your money back

iOS 8 fail!. Absolutely useless on iOS 8 - fails instantly

BBC Mag is fantastic. Great mag with extremely well written timely articles. Photos and reviews are fantastic as well.

Huge disappointment!. As a subscriber and fan of the print edition, I was eager to try out this ap. Unfortunately, there is only an unresponsive window for print subscribers to register. Don't waste your time or your money on this, it doesn't function!

Full of Info. Great recommendations which lead to to an Apple Music listen and then a purchase of the cd if the the music is to my liking. Invaluable source.

Great Magazine, Not so great Redesign. Loved loved loved the ability to read the magazine exactly like the print edition (but hyperlinked). This new design was not needed and severely detracts from the overall experience. Feel free to offer this as an option for those who want it, but please provide the classic experience for those who have enjoyed it that way for years.

BBC Music. Takes forever to download—much longer than before!

BBC Magazine. It is a focal point of my month. I can’t wait to open the new edition. It brings me great joy.

What?. Well, after calling the UK, being passed on from person to person, they gave me a number to call on the US, only to find out that the contents of this app is not available to customers on the other side of the pond… What? Get with the program, guys! Disappointing to say the least.

Doesn't seem to work. Bought two issues. Never able to download them.

Bery Bery Crashy. What the hell? This is ridiculous. Please update and fix this...

This is the best app for classical. I have tried many other apps for classical music, Gramophone, Classical, International Piano and others, and this is the best app out of the lot. While I feel Gramophone has better articles, there’s not a lot of difference. This app has an excellent linking function to information on the web, you can play music they write about direct from within the app, and the text size is better then all the other apps I tried. I just wish someone would invent a classical music app that works they way the Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) app works. There’s no need to blow up the page to read it. Everything can be read with no adjustments. If the BBC app was like the SMH app, I think they would get more subscribers.

Excellent resource for those studying music. This magazine is a good read first and an educational journal for anyone interested in music.

Great. It is amazing.

Appalling update Feb/22. The updated version is a disaster. Slow download, bland design, you have to wait for pages to fill in, you have to scroll down to read pages as in a website. Oh for the old app! Thank god there’s still gramophone. Very sad about this. Rj759

Terrible. I purchase this months issue just to hear Horowitz and the music isn't even downloadable. Also can't hear the music without constantly opened screen. Terrible.

Yes it’s very good. Classical fans this is a must

Mag good; app clumsy. Very slow download. No search function to find specific articles or reviews. Makes having all these back issues kind of pointless.

Vert good.... To read BBC music with this application is a real pleasure. It is better than the printed edition because we can listen to the music of CDs evaluated.

Challenging process. For every new issue, the download process is challenging and far from intuitive. That's true for via iTunes subscriptions anyway.

Download - grrrrrr!. Love the magazine content but the download process is tedious.

Back Issues Issue. Love having all the issues on my device. However, I purchased the back issues and can only access them on the iPhone app, the iPad app will not show them even when I restore purchases. I have rebooted, reinstalled the app etc. etc. all to no avail. :-(

Back issues unavailable.. Be warned - only purchase this if you intended to read recent issues. If you pay for back issues, you will find they are unavailable. Customer service is no help whatsoever.
