So educational and interesting. Reading the historical events I lose myself and can spend longer than I intend but it is fascinating to research some topics.

Wonderful. I literally use this every day. I use it to know which day it is for my 365 project and to know sunrise and sunset times. The little history nuggets are also nice.

Daily Must-Read, but .... Great way to start each day. The links to Wikipedia articles for each item are an excellent feature. One star deducted for occasional factual errors (see below), and use of obscure units of measure, such as Mw fot earthquake intensity. Error example: 20 January 1953 says Eisenhower was the first US Presidenr inaugurated on 20 January in accordance with the 20th Amendment. Not true. The 20th Amendment was ratified in 1933, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt was inaugurated for his second term on 20 January 1937.

Used to be great. I just deleted this app. The most recent dates I have seen are 2017. Nothing later. Is the app no longer updating?

Great conversation starter. I’m always looking for an icebreaker for conversations throughout the day. Non-political, and fun

Interesting but cynical. Interesting points in history but mostly focused on negative events of mass killings and war events.

Interesting, Informative, Fascinating. Few people appreciate human history because they are completely unaware of the events that have shaped our world. This app gives you a fascinating, daily glimpse into compelling historical events. Events which are as important now as they were back then. Society cannot improve if you don't understand the past.

Educational. There is always something new to learn every day.

Good idea, terrible content.. Is this app produced by the military? This would be a good educational history app if it was not solely focused on tragedies and war related events. How about the inclusion of some of the wonderful things that have happened in history? The wonderful things are the things that helped get us to where we are and also helped us overcome some of the tragedies that this app is fixated on. This app seems to be more concerned with spreading fear instead of facts.

Calendarium. Use the app everyday on my iPhone. Wish that the lookup features on wikipedia worked

Great app. This app gives you everything that happens on this day in history which I compare it to a radio station that has a almanac in the morning. Wish they also gave the birthday of famous people born on this day.

So awesome, but could be better.. As a history nerd, to me this app is beyond awesome. Just learning about what happened around the world on this day in history is exciting, but I find myself tapping on each event, wanting to read more about it, but it doesn't take me anywhere. This app would be perfect if the events were linked to web pages so I could read more about them.

App Icon/Fact Variety. Can you please update your app icon? It feels like I’m in 2010 when I look at it. Also a better variety of facts!

An app for an inquisitive mind!. This app is extremely interesting. On a mundane day when your life seems boring, open this app and relive the past. It tells you what happened on the exact day thousands of years ago. Isn't that interesting? Of course it is. But, I have a recommendation for the developers to allow this app to be on Notification Center's Today's View. So you can easily see what was the historic even just with a drop down of the Today's view. I'd be so happy to see this feature being implemented in the upcoming updates. Other than that, this app is top notch for every inquisitive mind craving for something to learn.

chronicle. so many of the years chronicled are lists of war and death. Is this how we measure time? Please continue to devote space for bookmarks to joy, peace, discovery, and the remarkable leaps mankind has/is making. ty

I think it could be improved. I think it would be interesting if there was a possibility of navigating though days more easily than going back and forth day by day. Also I think it could have an option to see the most important facts of the day.

Nice App, but.... The icon for the app does not reflect the current date-Reflects & stays at the date that the app was purchased. Although when app is opened up the correct day does pop up which I find a bit annoying & tacky, especially since it is not that hard to fix this inconsistency.

Good app, but some bugs. I like this app very much. I use it often. I gave only 3 stars because I have seen two dates without any historical information. This is a flaw in the app that can and should be fixed. Otherwise, it is very useful to me.

Good, but. I need the function to know what the number of the week is from exact day, because in my university we have classes sometimes in 1 week of the month (we start counting the number of the week from October and ahed to July every week), i need to calculate it from one specific month ahead, not from every month alone. So when I read on description this program shows the number of the week I was soo happy, yet dissapointed because it's not what I exactly need. :)

Why so morbid?. Please put some good news in the app. Dislike the clips on who killed who every day. Other than that it’s a great app!

History Buffs Pay Attention. The Calanderium App is visited daily. As an avid history buff I enjoy learning nuanced moments and interventions that changed the future. The App selects historical topics that change daily and guide the reader to a more in-depth discussion in Wikipedia. If a subject interests you, then take the next step and further your research using other resources. I highly recommend trying this App each evening.

Nice, but too much war, death, and destruction. Fun and interesting app. I do find myself, however, feeling quite gloomy after reading the developer's entries each day. Just a bit too much war, death, and destruction for my tastes. Surely there are more feats available of human triumph and amazement to balance the current offerings from the Dark Side.

The Sifu. If you like The History Chanel, Discovery Chanel, tid-bits of info, are a history buff, love trivia, then this app is for you. Historically accurate (as far as I can tell), provides other info (sunrise/set, etc.) and esthetics are pleasing. On the other hand, if you're not into history, you're doomed to repeat it. ;)

Strange but true events. Love waking up and finding out what happened on today’s date long ago. Sometimes I know what transpired on today’s date, other times it’s all new to me. Great app!

Learn something new everyday. It is a nice to learn something new everyday and on that date, but if you forget to read it there is no way of going back. Perhaps include a search of a particular day (like your birthday, anniversary, etc) as well as a month or even a week to look back on, if you were too busy and forgot a few days.

Good idea!. It makes a good entertainment while on line or at the DMV. A novel way to access Wikipedia. It may be more interesting if you can select directly a date instead of the one by one days. Thank you

Very Depressing, Mostly Bad News. I downloaded This app so I could look at each day and learn about major events that happened in history. Unfortunately, very few of the headlines are of a positive nature. You will see lots of entries like “Hitler takes Power….” and “Hundreds killed in…”, but very few “First space flight…” or “Pulitzer Prize awarded to…” It seems this app skews toward sensationalized, negative, depressing, horrific events. But then again, maybe human history is all about death and destruction, with a sprinkle of highlights. Either way, I no longer want to start each day with a dose of depressing.

Cool What happened today in history report. I enjoy this app. It goes back farther than any other "today in history" update I have seen. I would enjoy 1) being able to see days other than today, and 2) an option for "Born on this date"

Keeping up with all special days. Great calendar to keep up with all those special days as ya go, Birthdays, appointments, sport events, Maybe top 3 apps on my phone, set it and it will not let ya Forget it, Great

Hooray history!. This app is cool with the wide variety of history facts it includes, from meteor strikes to business starts and entertainment news like when Pac-Man was first released. Plus it has the normal history of world events, but not just from a western civilization point of view it also includes eastern cultures and the Middle East. I wish however, that we could scroll through the days of the calendar in case we miss a day or want to look back at another day. Would love to see the source material as well from where the information is coming. Thanks for making such an exhaustive history app. This is really cool.

Great calendar!. Wonderful calendar! Shows the number of days from the beginning and remaining days in the year. Also shows the number of weeks. Good that it only shows the main big event in a year from the earliest history to the latest.

A sense of history every day. This is a trivia nerd's Nirvana, and a history buff's Beulah! Every entry makes me realize how comparatively insignificant my life has been, yet how magnanimous my impact might be someday, if only the right mix of "routine" and "radical" happen to pass in front of me. Bravo! to the developers of this app!

Pretty cool!. A nice simple app that tells you past important events that happened on today's date. I like that you can't flip the calendar back or ahead... it keeps you focused on today and gives you a reason to check it out every day and see the new info! Extra info like which week number you're in and how many days are past/left in the year are cool. The previous review is a bit harsh. I haven't come across any spelling or grammar issues so far!

A Historical Perspective. It is fun to use this app & gain a historical perspective about events that happened a year; a decade; or much further back in time.

Love this app. I absolutely LOVE this app. It's got a great mix of "this day in history" events spanning from classical antiquity to just a few years ago. I like that it covers events from around the world. The sunset/sunrise times are really handy too. I like the design and am impressed by how smooth the scrolling is within long lists of events. Wonderful app for anyone curious about the world!

Nice app!. Quick view of sunrise, sunset, and a summary of events that happened on the current day in history. Simple and informative. Future and past dates are not available, only the current day, so it's best to check daily or you miss out!

Too depressing!. I had this app for about 2 wks & deleted it. It was mostly a list of wars, crashes & accidents. How about some fun facts or interesting little known info??? It was instead a depressing litany of people being crappy to each other. It is a part of history but jeez, how about some soul inspiring happy moments? Or maybe during black history or women’s history months, focusing on that. Just really hated reading lists of how many peeps died on this date for whatever reason.

Calendarium. Once I figured it out, the feature that allows one to “google” the event to learn more detail is an invaluable history teacher!

I like it. Redundant with some features of another app, but all around good. The history of the day and other time features are nice. To be more unique, focus on the time aspect: add different calendar types as well as the Julian date. Being able to change the date and see the events, sunset sunrise, Julian date, etc would be helpful. Seeing the Julian date would also be helpful for calculating the amount of days between two different dates.

Latest change. I enjoy this app immensely - yet the ability to share on social media has been removed eliminating the ability to share quickly. I’d give it stars if they brought that back - please.

Look like you know things. This app is amazing! Shows at least twenty different things that happened in history every single day. Read up on one or two and try to bring it up in conversation and make people think your smart!!

Other Countries Events Selection. It would be better if you could select history from countries you live in as well. That way I could learn about our Past Australian history as well as American history.

Cool idea, but.... The idea that you can have so many facts are really cool, but like some others said, it would be better if we could pick and choose which kind of facts we want. I also found that it looked like we could click on the fact to find out more, but it wouldn't do that (might just be a personal thing but I think I'll state it anyway). It would be useful to click on the fact and get directed to the backstory and details of the fact other than having to exit the app and google/bing/yahoo it (whichever method people find best. Hehe). Cool idea though and I hope they can add some awesome things to this app.

Great app, widget no. This app easily gets my five stars BUT can you please clean up the widget which is SO boring. Suggestion: the bottom of the widget design is okay but if you made the top of the widget look exactly like the app, well, I would happily give you SIX stars!

Interesting information. I am really enjoying this app. However, I do find that the writing overlaps some at the heading of an event ; making it difficult to read the heAding and first line or two. I have an IPhone 5c running IOS 8.1. Took off one star because of the overlap issue. But I'm sure it will be remedied in short order. Thanks for this great app.

Very good. I love history. This app gives us a glimpse of the past that happened. It does not have all the information of the past otherwise it would be an encyclopedia. One thing that I would like to see is an option to change the size of the font. It is tiny on an ipad. That's why it is 3 starts - for now.

Love it. I just love the history notes from all over the world. This app has helped kick start my own research into several events and made dig deeper into finding out the background of them.

Remember When. This is a great app if you like to review historical events. I only wish there was a little more uplifting news. It could also be slightly expanded with photos and maps for a better understanding and retention.

Interesting facts & a few suggestions. I love all the facts, but as others have said there's a lot of war, death, and destruction. I would suggest adding some positive events as well as maybe birthdays of figures of historical importance.

:). Should make a widget for this app displaying a random event of the current day. Every time you open the Notification Center, a different event that day is shown.

Great for Trivia Buffs. Lots of cool daily info. Great to share with other trivia buffs in your life. Used to be able to message or email something of interest to a friend but that no longer works for me (iPad 2, iOS 8.1). Very disappointing.

Sharing doesn't work. I like to share things from Calendarium to Facebook, but today when I try to share on Facebook the posting area is blank. Please fix.

Use it everyday. A great resource for historical events. Truly runs the gambit in regard to geographical locations and allows you to see a wider world historical view.

Nice app but doesn't handle larger fonts. Great lil app with interesting info but I have increased font size on my iphone and the app text is cluttered and jumbled. Small bug. Fix this and it's a 5 star app.

Errors. My first review was "harsh" because there was a number of mistakes and spelling errors. Some errors like Fabuary are hard to ignore hahaha However, they corrected the errors with the last update. For the most part this is a good app. Would be great to be able to select different dates.

Find some more uplifting events. I was really looking forward to this app but 80 percent of the things they share have to do with deaths of some form or other whether it be disasters, wars or terrorism. That stuff is interesting but come up with more positive stuff to equal things out- I know it's out there.

Today in history.... I gave this app 5 stars since history is important.

String of Events across History. Great app. I look it up everyday. It helps knowing relevance of each day and connects historical events. You can also view the positioning of planets in the Solar system. Love it.

Chit Chat topics. I have a business where I have to start conversations with strangers. It's nice to have a few "Did you know on this date...?" just in case.

Good app. Good app with a diversity of events given for each day. I havent checked any of the events to confirm accuracy, but Ill report back if i do. My only suggestions to make this a better app: allow the user to go to past dates if they miss a day, and have Wikipedia links for events.

Great Review of History. Interesting to read each day the progression of major wars and significant accomplishments. Have not had any problems with stability.

Fascinating and informative. It's fascinating to see what happened on this day years ago, and this app makes that easy. If you're interested in that kind of thing and like to share tidbits of trivia, this app works perfectly for that.

Great Combo of History and Fun Facts!. Although a simple app, there is a lot here. I love this configuration of history snippets, from recent years til way-back-when. Also, it's great to have a go-to app for sunrise-sunset. Feature request: Notification Widget.

Remember the past. It is a nice touch to remember where our roots are. The past is never all good but would like to see more joyful times than sad times, but those tough times mold who we are and that God gives us strength. Would like moon phases also. Thanks

Some great info. Has a great variety of World History. There are some events that are missed in more localized history. There is only so much space to be used.

Location issue. Cool app! It would be even better if I could enter my location. It seems like right now unless I give it access to my location I can see zero sunrise and sunset information.

It's ok.. This app shows only one event per year. I'm sure more interesting events happened than just one 'big' event each year. It would be nice to be able to touch each event and be taken to an article via google or Wiki or something! Overall, it's a nice concept yet I wouldn't pay for this app. It needs more features. It's free today.

Look into the past. Very easy to use and will have you thinking about where you were when events happened and maybe who you were with.

Love to find out what's gone on in the world. This app is great because it lets us know what has happened throughout time. A real eye opener.

Fun and Informative. This app provides a lot of information each day - more than the 4 or 5 you traditionally get. Consequently you get more unusual facts.

Interesting concept. Interesting concept, but it needs two more things to go from 3 to 5. I should be able to select any day on the calendar. It only shows me today. And it should tell me holidays; Not just major holidays either, but world wide holidays and even those quirky holidays, like "rate an app day".

Something interesting everyday. I find something interesting everyday that I share at home or work. I've been around for some of these events. I just didn't pay as much attention as I should have the time. I can't believe how far back they go. It's a great source for trivia.

A New Favorite. Such a fun app. Just the right amount of calendar related "brick-a-brack". Even my kids love the daily history and the Earth in relation to the rest of the solar system is the coolest!!!

Great info, but issues with app. The daily info is fantastic. I'd love to share some of the info on Facebook, but every time I try, the post becomes the link to the App Store rather than the info. Sharing by mail, message, or Twitter works. I couldn't find a way to get help with the issue. So, my FB friends will continue to be unenlightened.

Bill. Those who do not know the past are condemned to relive it! I thoroughly enjoy knowing what happened "today" through the centuries. It does shine a light on what is truly happening "today."

Lots of good information!. I love this ap. not just for the history, but also for the dawn and sunset times, moon phases and planet alignments. A host of interesting and useful information!

Limited Entertainment. The app does provide interesting facts about each day as well as the day of year (which I was looking for). However, the app only allows you to look at the current day (no days in the past or future). Thus, it has limited usefulness for me.
