Almost perfect.. This really is a great game. If anyone wants to use it to improve their scrabble play, please be aware that the word list it uses is probably not the one you will use playing the board game. Many words are absent from the official dictionary, for example, and the best I could find if the word list it uses does not have even rudimentary definitions, or other justification for its inclusion, let alone information on who compiled or maintains the word list. This isn't so much a complaint, as I suspect this is some nonsense involving copyrights, et cetera, but I would love to have a dictionary like version of the words the game deems acceptable.

MajorC. I love this game. Like others I agree that playing against yourself is just as challenging as competing with other, and frankly allows me to go at my own pace when I have time. It is great to be able to play for a few minutes or so then pick up later. If you like Scrabble, you should like this game.

Words Alone. I love this game. It keeps me sharp for playing Scrabble with friends. Love the dictionary but would also like to see a few blank tiles. I also love that they do take recommendations; I've seen a few of mine be accepted. The game is updated regularly so there is always something new!

Challenging and fun. If you like scrabble - and I do! - this is great fun. I've never had a problem with the app, it never hangs up and it is easy to mute the sounds, which is important if you like to play in the spare moments when you are in waiting rooms or not supposed to be playing. It has really sharpened my scrabble skills. With an infinite variety of words available, it never gets boring either. My grandkids love it as much as I do and they say it has helped their verbal skills.

This game is in my top 3 word games. I play Scrabble and Words Alone every night before I go to sleep.

Love it. Perfect for those who love Word games. I wanted something to get my brain working when it feels sluggish, but I had no interest in playing against others or needing a wifi connection to play, so it's perfect. Never had any issues. My friend saw the name of the game on my iPad once and gave me a pity face though LOL. I guess it does sound kind of lonely...

Words alone. This is my favorite word game.

Best word game period!. Playing against yourself is a lot harder than it might seem. To end a game using all of the letters and seeing the confetti fall is quite an accomplishment. In other word games it is hard to find an opponent that isn't using a "helping" service which takes away the challenge of the game.

Almost Perfect. This is a game perfectly suited to me in that it is easy to pick up and play for as long or short as I like, the format is great, and I have yet to encounter a glitch. I started out playing words with friends before my son in law showed me a cheat AP people use to win those games (really?!). So I love this ....can challenge myself by trying to up scores knowing I do not cheat! It is e only game I play as well.

Worthy option. Wanted a scrabble-like alternative where I didn’t have to play against another person/computer. This is the best option I’ve found. Playing alone is great, the challenge is using all the tiles. Love it but: Sometimes the only tiles that come up are all vowels or consonants After you win it doesn’t automatically start a new game Wish the dictionary had all the scrabble words

Agree. I like this game too, especially now that the Scrabble updates have rendered it no fun anymore. The only change I'd like that I didn't see mentioned is showing the point total of your word as you place it and not only after you actually play it. And one (total) swap only per round ugh. All in all pretty nice though.

Great for use during flights. Since Internet access is not needed, this is my favorite app to use when flying.

Words Alone. I love the game. Love it. The only drawback is the swap rule. Only one swap per game and it swaps all of your letters. Go ahead and swap all consonants, you get all consonants back! The swap needs to let you choose which letters and to swap at least twice in my opinion.

Very addictive!. Can't stop playing this game... Having some serious medical issues and this keeps my mind busy. So glad I have this app!!!

Great. If you love to play word games then you will love this game. You might think it would be strange to play scrabble alone, but actually it is quite a challenge and you have to strategize not to get stuck and to use all of the letters. Makes " The little grey cells" get a workout.

Good mind exercise. Was playing words with friends but didn't like the having to wait. This is a great game. Would like a feature to exchange tiles sometimes the unlucky draw leaves you with absolutely nothing and you need to start over an exchange would be fun

Epic!. All though people that play on IPAds do’nt see the multiplayer button, it’s still fun anyways! Can you get to 400!? It’s ultimate! Check this out and when you start try to get to just 250. Or ATLEAST 200 or something around 150. Check your level! Are you a noob? That means your best score was only up to 100. Or are you a ametur? Than your best is 200. Or a PRO!? That means you’re best is 300! Or a HACKER!?!? That means you got that ultimate achievement I said! 400 points! Can you get to it? Than tell me in your comment! BYE! Thanks for reading 🙂

FUN!. I really love this game, I happen to love scrabble, but not into words with friends at all. More of a solitare kind of person. I was thrilled to find a game that gives me the best of both worlds...scrabble and solitare. The game is colorful, easy to play and addictive. I am new to ipad, and this game has added to my beginner's pleasure.

Love it! BUT...... Show the score before playing the word so one can decide to change it to try to get a higher score word. Then I will give it 5 stars.

Great game !!. Once you get past the idea that this is Scrabble you will see the opportunities to set yourself up for some really good scores. This game is really fun for those of us who are tired of Scrabble against the computer which uses words we have never heard of. Also a good game for those who are tired of seeing ridiculous high scores posted by some who have figured out how to cheat the scoring.

Disappointingl. It was fun at first but then got annoying as the letters became repetitive. Kept getting the same letters back as just played and also often either all vowels or no vowels. Usually nothing worth more than 2 points to work with. Just not a fun mix. Would be nice to have blanks! Also irritating to lose all letters if you swap as well as losing points, and you can only swap once. A typical rack of letters is I I I U U O T. That is expected to be the case sometimes, but MOST of the time? Hope it can improve as it could be very enjoyable!

Bonus Hog Problem. I love this game and have been playing it a long time. I only have two achievements I had not achieved until today, one of which is Bonus Hog, cover 50 or more bonus spaces in one game. So, today I did it. There are a total of 65 bonus spaces and I counted, repeatedly, that only 15 were left uncovered; yet the Bonus Hog achievement is still locked. That hurt my feelings. I worked so hard to accomplish that, forsaking high scoring to get there. Don’t know if I’ll be able to do it again. Wish this had worked. 😞Still love the game. I’ll give 5 stars when that is fixed.

Music won't shut up!. Even when you set It to 0% it still makes noise. Had to shut the app before I could even play. Waste of money!

Challenging and Fun. I like the fact that I am competing with myself

Fun way to pass the time. This game is a great way to pass the time and challenges your word building ability. It's the closest I can get to my favorite computer game (not made for these devices yet) which is called "Double-cross."

If you're a SCRABBLEholic. ...as I am, you'll like this game. No blank tiles though and I've learned to "save" the vowels as you will need them for later use. Fun playing by yourself and a personal goal to use all the letters makes each game challenging.

Awesome game - needs bigger dictionary. This game is fantastic, love the way you play and the extra bonuses to work toward. My only gripe is the dictionary - many of the key scrabble words that people use in other games or in real life scrabble are not found in the dictionary in this game. That presents an additional challenge I guess you could say. Not a huge deal once you get used to which words it won't recognize, but that takes a few games.

Great brain exercise. Love this game. Keeps my brain sharp and ready for action.

Words alone. Love it. Don't need anyone else to play. Keeps my mind and spelling sharpe and is just plain fun. It's fun to higher your score, or try to higher your score and the bonus to use every letter. I have made words that I did not know existed . Thanks for the fun!!

Words Alone. I love this game! I'm so addicted to it that I never sleep anymore. I'm very happy that I found this game because I love Words with Friends but I hate waiting for others to play. I love playing word games and Words Alone is my favorite game.

My only game app. Okay - More challenging than most word apps & like playing against myself. The scoring stats are fun, but I agree with other reviewers that allowing to switch tiles & having a dictionary app would make it more challenging.

Pesters you. I paid for this and it pesters me with pop-ups. Can I have my money back? I won't be buying any more Gano Technologies games or apps.

arf56. I do love to play. Nice to keep my mind thinking. I do think that there needs to be a dictionary option to check and challenge words and to have different levels of play to advance our skills and fun level.

Keeps my mind sharp. I do Wordly just before retiring and actually calm down after a busy day. I never meet or beat the goal, but it's fun trying.

Good game but.... I really like playing this game. It needs two improvements. I would like to know the score of my word before I accept it. This would make it easier to find the best play. The letters enlarge when they are played even though I have the option turned off. If these two improvements were made, then a 5 star rating. It is still worth the 99 cents.

Like Scrabble Alone. Very fun & addictive. I love the game, but the following tweaks would make it perfect: 1) List of the number of each letter in each game, or a list of letters left unplayed. 2) A double-word score for the yellow square you have to play on first, like in Scrabble. 3) A tally of the score you will get for a word, before you play it. 4) The points earned for a play to remain displayed until the next play. 5) An undo feature with a point penalty. 6) The ability to exchange some tiles as opposed to having to exchange them all.

Words alone is great fun! I'm hooked!. Love this more than scrabble, goes faster than waiting for a response. Would like easy access to a dictionary directly from the program.

Great alternative!. Great alternative to other games where you have to wait for friends to take their turns; you can do this at your own pace to brush up on skills; to relax, or to challenge yourself. The only reason I gave it four stars is that I would like to see blank tiles as they are used in most every word game out there.

Scrabble-like mania. As much as I like Scrabble, I never have anyone to play and cannot devote as much time to give. This allows me to play by myself whenever I can. I agree, too, that I miss the blanks. Thanks for keeping us Scrabble lovers happy.

Words For One. I am hooked. Once I discovered this game, it is the only one I play. It is difficult to find a word game that stimulates your mind and designed to be played by one person. Also the price was right. My problem is the limited words in the dictionary!!!!

Nice app. Well designed and flexes the brain muscles. Dictionary a bit strange e.g. why is Ra not accepted yet some other gods are? And I think the lexicon should contain words that occur in more recent internet usage.

Great Fun. Download this before trying similar word games. The others have annoying ads which interrupt play. This app lets you have an enjoyable time.

Great game!. I didn't think I'd like it but took a chance on it anyway. How fun could solo scrabble really be? Turns out, this is one of four games I find myself going back to. Great practice for the real thing or just as a daily brain exercise.
