Does nothing. This app does not work !!!!! have tried lots of things and until now has been a waste of time, no tv, no recordings no nothing !!

Make sure to update the Netstream. It works. When I first downloaded the app, it didn't - The app found the Netstream device but was unable to download the guide or any channels. After I updated the Netstream's firmware from 1.0.0 to 1.1.3 (downloaded from Elgato's website, support section), the app worked - I have now access to the guide and all the channels. There're intermittent choppiness and disruptions, and at times the device was "lost" - had to reset its power to get it back on the app. For better experience when I want it, I'm able to connect to a big monitor via a HDMI connector and the stereo via the headphone jack.

Required to use eyetv mobile but didnt work. Tried several times and did not even show any sign of functionability!

Waste of time. I have downloaded this app twice. Version 2 was completely different than version 1. And both versions do not work. And you cannot download the software update on an iPhone. A total waste of time

Airplay integration please. You can airplay global iPad sound to the speakers but it doesn't sync with the TV image.

Needs more control.. Add more option to control The channels please.

Death of EyeTV. I've been using EyeTV for many years. Now the developers have abandoned and it's a useless piece of hardware sitting in my house. When you go to Geniatech's website your ignored. The death of EyeTV in the USA. Who is responsible for this?

Same as the removed HDHomerun App. How ironic. Identical to the $17.99 HDhomerun app which no longer exists in the App Store, yet only finds Elgato hardware rather than SiliconDust HDHomerun Prime units. I hope SiliconDust ends their partnership with you.

This is crap -tech support is no help !!!. The app will launch on my iPhone but all I get is menus. I called tech support (guy didn't seem to know much) and after 20 minutes he said this was a demo. However if you see the screenshots is actually shows the app in operation. Nowhere in here do you see it saying that this is a non-working version (his words -"demo"). One reviewer actually said it works but the tech support guy said it won't. However, the desktop (EyeTv Hybrid) has worked like a charm on my iMac for 4 years straight -love it.

Need to update the firmware on the Netstream. The app didn't see the Netstream at first, but after updating the firmware on the device the app has worked perfectly. The ability to record and rewind is fantastic. I'd love the ability to broadcast to an AppleTV.

Confused. I don't know what to do? Do I have to have net stream as my tv company? What am I suppose to install on my computer? Is net stream free?

Doesn't work with HDhomerun. I downloaded it today and tested with my HDhomerun Tuner. But it doesn't work at all.

Ripped off. Previously could watch tv direct from the netstream. The changes to the eyetv app forcing you to use this app have rendered my netstream device useless. This app simply states "no channels". Not good at all!

Skippy. The app works fine once you update the firmware on the Netstream box. It would be nice to be able to receive HD channels. There must be an update coming soon for the "New" iPad..... Right Elgato, there is an update coming soon isn't there?

Mr. Can't get it work. All what I see is " no channel" after 2h I gave up And bought eyetv entertainment app and I had no problems!

HD Enabled. Finally, Elgato have managed to get HD channels to stream natively to the iPad/iPhone. Upgrade the iOS device to version 1.1.3 and upgrade the Netstream DTT box to version 1.1.5 and enjoy HD tv on the iOS device. Awesome Work. Loving the freedom

Watch out - Netstream firmware may be required. My first impression of this product was as follows: ################### This app is garbage. It doesn't work. Don't buy an eyetv netstream DTT device if you want to use it with an ipad air. ################### However after contacting support I got a quick response explaining how to update the netstream firmware. After following their recommendations it started working perfectly. So I'm updating this rating to 4 stars.

Reboots iPad. This has a serious bug which causes by iPad to crash & reboot randomly when watching tv. Not good.

Crapola. Rubbish app, rubbish product. Doesn't always find the netstream DTT and when it does it displays that it is in use by another device... Which is the device I'm using, my iPad! Also, my unit often overheats and I have to switch it off and back on, really annoying in summer when It fails and I miss a recoded program. I'm soooo over this stuff.

Not reliable. Very rarely connects to my Netstream. Not overly impressed by it. My MacBook and Linux Mint desktop connect using non Elgato apps more reliably

Doesn’t work with IOS 14.6. This version of the app (2.87) still runs on IPad with IOS 9.3.6 & Iphone with IOS 10.3.4. It does not run on IPad or Iphone with IOS14.6. Support for the App seems non-existent, despite claiming “Fixed known issues” “one month ago” in the App Store download page.

Good. Good but when connected to my Sony dream machine it doesn't change the picture so it takes up only about 5 8ths of the screen does anyone have a fix?

Can't get this to work.. I am using the EyeTV app instead which works OK. This app keeps stating "No Channels" and I can't get it to work.

Needs HD. Great product and the IOS app works well. Do read the documentation, there is some important things to do to set it all up. Ie copy the channels to the netstream so it will work with your iOS device. I echo the call from other Australians, we need a HD codec for the iPad. That would make it a Five Star Product.

Excellent but room for improvement. I had the same 'no channels' problem but a firmware upgrade to the Netstream DTT and a reinstallation of the app fixed this. I would like to see the Netstream utilise my IceTV guide and perhaps broadcast this over the network. At the moment only the EPG (broadcast) is visible on the iPhone/iPad app which is next to useless. IceTV only works on the Mac using the EyeTV program. I don't want to have to use my Mac to see the guide I'm paying $100 per yer for...,

App does not work at all. App does not work. Keeps asking to grab device but does not do anything after that. Nothing has been done for months to fix this.

Needs a Timer Function to set recordings on iPhone/iPad. Works ok for me. No support for HD channels - needs to be addressed Needs a timer record function so you can set it to record a program if possible and also the ability to tell it to record for a set time (or until a certain time). If you get tired you want it to keep recording and switch off. Now it records until you run out of room or battery goes flat. Useless if you only want to record a certain show or time.

Broken in iOS 15. Guys, any updates. App can’t see Netstream device on network. It’s been broken since iOS 14 (and we’re now on iOS 15). Common let’s have some updates!

Works Flawless A ++. Runs sweet on my network on iPad 1 and iPhone 4S at the same time different channels!! Firmware needs to be upgraded to latest version, download from Elgato Website. I think most of the problem would be the network equipment. I'm running high end Cisco Switch/Router with 2 Apple Airport Extreme's and it works like a dream!! (I have 2 airport extreme's cause my house is big and need to extend wireless range) Good TV Signal strength also is a must which I have. Not sure why negative reviews, seems like people have cheap routers/equipment and expect a good result. In conclusion.... Easy to setup and works great for me. Now I have TV on my iPad and iPhone anywhere on my property!! ;)

Who Needs Wires?. When my wired entertainment network failed, Elgato's EyeTV and this App solved the problem cheaply and simply. I can carry my iPad around the house and watch TV while doing other stuff or AirPlay to an Apple TV.

Worst App ever. I brought the EyeTV Netstream DTT from my Apple Store and although it works on my Mac, I have never been able to get this App to work on IPad and IPhone. After several attempts and many calls with Elgato, I still don't have a working product. The iPad or iPhone always says "the device (the EyeTV Netstream DTT) is in use by others and when I check my Mac both tuners are free not been used by anyone. Don't waste your money buying the Elgato product and don't waste your time with their technical support. I have had this product so long, I can't even return it now to my Apple Store. I'd give this app a zero, but that is not available.

Not Good. Get it if you want to watch a black screen saying "UNSUPPORTED VIDEO" Not happy

No support for HD. Works okay for half the channels on offer in Australia.

Sound but no video on iOS 13. As ozcuddlah said, this application is broken under iOS 13. There is sound but no picture. I expect a similar fate awaits this application suite when macOS Catalina is released. 😞

Use DTV Netstream. Geniatech’s support is terrible. I stumbled across the DTV Netstream. I have a n Eyetv Netstream 2T. It’s not listed as a compatible device but works fine with the new app

Scheduled recordings. Would really like to see scheduled recording added to the app for specific times or selected programs or series. I'm really happy support for Australian abc and other channels now working. Well done so far!

Can't get it to work. When I tap on the Live TV tab, I get a message saying "No Channels". I bought the EyeTV app ages ago and everything works great through that. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I know you have to set it up through a computer apparently but haven't been able to figure out how to do this. I'll add stars to the rating when I get it working.

Useless. On iPhone 4 s with ios7 cannot receive any station. Can get stream on win7 computer and on iPad. On 2 iPhone all I get is"no content" for every station. Cannot recommend.

Waste of money. Want the short version..... Rubbish, doesn't work, save your money. Only reason I gave it one star is because it won't let me do none! I spent $300 on the eyeTV Netstream DTT today and have now spent 8hours trying to get it and the apps working properly. There is little intuitive with the setup. The Tera tec home cinema software that comes with the Netstream is clunky and although I can watch a single channel form the laptop, I can't see any channels from the iPad or iPhone. I have reinstalled apps, software and hard reset to factory settings on the Netstream. But still no go. I am taking the gear back for a refund (I hope...) and deleting the apps. Wish I had read the reviews and other comments online first. Glad I didn't have to pay for the apps as well. Rubbish!

Not Happy. This is of little use if it will not play the channels I wish to watch. It doesn't play the HD channels. Very disappointed, the device is not fully functional if you can only watch standard channels. I would prefer to pay for an app that supports the channels I wish to watch. When is something going to be done about this?

Just what I needed. I am really impressed with Eyetv netstream As a family of 5 we have 1 Pc, 3 laptops, 2 ipods, 2 iphones and 2 ipods between us. The ability to enable TV on all of these devices was very attractive and after researching options settled on EyeTtv with Netstream. For the same money I could have purchased 1 small TV but in my case turning the existing devices into 10 TV's was a better way to go. (Better for the planet, better for the wallet, better for flexibility). If you have a good strong wireless router signal (and a good antenna for TV reception) and follow the directions installing the sofware( including updating to the latest version if neccessary) it should work great. The bit that wasn't very clear for me was needing a PC or MAC so you can first scan in the channels and then use the pc or mac to copy this into the Eyetv netstream box. You need to do this so the ipad and iphone apps can work. I am using a rabbit ear antenna with a wireless N router and streaming 2 different channels to 2 different devices simultaneously with little problem. The only time I experience the odd problem it is due to wireless drop outs which are not the fault of the EyeTV. In my case it is when the microwave oven is on. Here in Australia we have some HD channels. I would give the product 5 stars if it could stream HD channels to the ipod / ipad. It can do this ok for pc's and hopefully one day it will come for the ipad too. I have to say it is great being able to watch your favourite TV show outside with your IPAD and earphones.

Is the app optimised for Retina display?. Great watching free to air. But pretty sure it looks worse on a retina display. Also the HD channels issue when will Apple aloft the restriction.

Do not buy the hardware. Software on iMac not that great does not pick up all stations, iPad app does not work. ipad reads tuner 2 Imac tuner 1, if change iMac to 1 then it does not work either. Can not change iPad looked every where no option. Not going to recommend this hardware to anyone currently psd…off!

Works well when configured correctly. Took me ages to get this working configuring the netstream for the iPad app. I also got the no channels message when I first fired this app up. Figured out that the netstream requires the station list copied to it. I use win7. To check whether you have copied across the station list do the following. Make sure you have scanned for channels and you can view them. Then Open settings through the THC software and click on the options tab. Click the button called configuration and it should open up the eye tv web config page. Click on channels and see if populated. If not then you need to add channels to this. Open the settings through THC software. Select options tab and click on settings. Then click the button marked Copy station list to EyeTV Netstream DTT. Once done iPad app should work. Wish this was documented in instructions somewhere.

Doesn't work. Cannot get any channels to load on my iPad even after enabling the correct settings on Eyetv on my Mac. The other Eyetv app works ok but this one is completely useless. Disappointing and surprisingly given how good most other Elgato products are.

Failure - Zero Stars. You could be forgiven for thinking that Elgato made poor user experience products for PC, except that they have many years experience making products specific for Mac. (It doesn't show) Firstly if you pay over $300 for a product to stream TV, and given that you could buy an actual TV for less than $300, you expect it to work out of the box and be fantastic. Well this product fails on all accounts. Netstream must firstly be installed on a PC or Mac, there is no iOS configuration (what happened to Post-PC era). After that it still does not natively stream to iOS devices until you enable it in the settings. Then you must update the software and then UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE - which is not mentioned anywhere (thanks for not informing us about this Elgato, did I mention that this is a $300 product???) I don't know how they expect mum and dad users to use this product. Personally I would recommend they just buy a normal TV and save themselves the effort. When you do get it working, it won't stream all the channels that you could get on a normal tv as the Netstream will not convert the newer HD channels into a playable format for iOS, even though it will stream it to Mac. This also is not mentioned anywhere until after you have opened the packaging. (False advertising?) Did I mention this is a $300 product that can't do what it claims to do? It is funny that I learned how to get this product to work by reading the reviews on here, rather than from the Elgato website.

Works after firware upgrade. Upgrade Netstream firmware, then power off/on Netstream. Then open this app to start viewing two tv channels again without a Mac host and also displays full program guide now. Have removed original EyeTV iOS app which no longer functions properly. Its a shame Elgato do not post this tip on their knowledge base.

Broken again. Latest update 2.87 broken on all devices except appletv.

Works well. I originally bought the eyetv netstream for my windows 7 media centre pc, it never really worked correctly as it would freeze,drop out of the network a lot. Since updating to the latest firmware and installing this app on all our iOS devices it works fantastic. Only downside is hd Channels won't stream. Would be nice if it worked with apple tv.

Poor quality & thought. Not a very reliable app and bad app support. What about the basic function to override the sleep setting whilst watching a television broadcast!

Unfortunately app is now broken, used to work though. Cannot scan for channels, as app always complains that tuner is currently in use by others (even if it definitely isn’t). Unfortunate, because this app used to be so useful.

It works as advertised and it's free!. After paying so much for the Netstream, this app should be free! Like all the other reviews, this app can't play HD channels which isn't too bad if you have the SD channels tuned. The app itself needs to get updated for the new iPad, some UI elements look horrible in low resolution. What would be nice if you could schedule recordings from the app but I'm not sure if this is technically possible... Would be a nice feature!

Doesn't appear to work. And only appears to accept comments if 5 star rated ???? Looks like another APP that fails to deliver whilst owners cook the books on performance so they can use as piece of spy software !?!

Buyer Beware. Still doesn't work in Canada please don't waste your money like I did.

Canadian application Void. I was so excited to see this app I went to the Elgato store and was let down that I could not buy the hardware required to use the app, please remove from the Canadian app store if the hardware is not available in the country the app is listed.
