Nice, but obtrusive bottom menu.. Hi, nice pad app, thanks! I find that most of the times that I hit the various controls at the bottom, it was accidental. (Tested on an iPhone) This kills the rhythm. The interuptions trained me to avoid the bottom of the pads, so the bottom row pads are effectively shorter than the top row. I never need those controls mid-drumming session anyway. Perhaps put the controls in a partially transparent "menu" button in a corner that is hold to activate. If it is tapped, it activates the pad it's partially covering, (assuming that's what the drummer intended) but also changes to "hold" briefly, and fades back to normal. If it's held for half a second or so, the menu is displayed. This would give the user the entire screen for drumming. Thanks for listening!

Easily the BEST drum app in the app store. There are sweet different drum styles AND you can play with your music and make your music low so you can actually hear your beats. This app is perfection. Please keep the different styles coming!!! It is also SO easy to use anyone can use it!

Great drum pad app. I’ve been using rhythm pad since day one. I’m happay to see that the creator of this app has kept up with all the multitude of apple updates and kept it alive and even expanding its capabilities. Here’s a couple things I would like to see. The reverb and compression is a nice addition to the experience. But ide like to see the reverb assignable to individual pads. I think that others might agree that it’s nice to have a dry and tight kick drum in the same kit as a snare soaked in reverb. As it is, reverb is applied to the whole kit. The compression is also applied to the whole kit but that is the way it should be. So, half awesome. And I really miss the pad animations you used to have in the olden days. It’s like they lit up from the center like there was one LED in the center and it got a little darker towards the edges. Not a big deal of course but to me it’s much more aesthetically pleasing than the all yellow graphic that has taken its place. And I also remember the old rhythm pad had a secret function that I really liked, and it might still be there, I haven’t checked this version yet. I assume it is. But if you have the app open while using your favorite DAW you can use it to control instruments within that DAW. I would open rhythm pad while using easy beats in Logic Pro and be able to trigger the easy beats samples including velocity with it. Try it, it’s really fun and useful for creating more lifelike drum tracks. Pads even match up kick for kick, snare to snare, etc. pretty cool! Keep up the good work!

Rhythm pad. I've had this app for quite some time now And I normally don't do reviews but this app is great and even better because it supports audiobus. I love the sound of the rock kit. By far one of my favorites. Next to that would be the classic rock kit. The rest are okay but those are great. I love that I could move what sound comes from each pad so I put double bass and double snares on the rock kit for fast fills. This app Is awesome. 5 stars.

No music library. I can’t access any music files, making this another cheap drum machine.

Superb now!!!. I have completely re-wrote my review! This update makes me want to apologize for my previous review! Rhythm Pad now feels like a more serious drum app than a toy now! The developer has completely re-structured this app and it is usable now. There is a built in step sequencer that you can choose to record live to or step program. There is a metronome and a count in to start recording. With this new update I was no longer confused, the UI makes sense now and I tapped out a beat in seconds (it even quantize now) which can be exported as an audio file! The sounds are awesome and good quality which is a carry over from the original app. Great work...I would definitely recommend this app now! **edit** after playing with the app a bit more it still has some debilitating issues. It will only quantize 1/8 and 1/16....why not go the extra mile and add 1/32 and 1/64th? The way it is now limits the types of beats you can do...good luck trying a good trap beat. Also, when you record a beat, stop to listen and press record again to add to the beat, it erases the beat events instead of adding to it, so too bad so sad if you didn’t save that beat. The developer has made some great improvements, but it still has a way to go. Just a side note, velocity would be a nice feature and the ability to assign what pad gets reverb or not would also be cool...and the hopes of additional sound packs and AUv3 would be great 👍🏻

Very good overall. Pros: Realistic sounds No discernible delay Volume control for each pad Lets you configure the set, assigning the same function to more than one pad if u want ( comes in handy, eg. For hi-hat triplets etc, having 2 closed hihats on adjacent pads makes things easier) Con: No way to have the rimshot and the ride at the same time, since they are in different kits Also, having the volume of each shot being controlled by pressure, instead of your finger location on the pad (louder toward the centre) would be a lot better, if that's technically possible.

Decent but crashes when opening songs. Decent app, sounds okay but crashes upon opening songs to play with.

Very good. I've actually used this app, included kits and all, on some finished recordings. I did have to adjust or quantize a bit to compensate for either my own timing or latency, but this is a very usable interface and kit selection.

Solid app with a few minor hangups.. This has gotta be one of the best finger drumming apps on the market. Well designed with a simple layout and includes all of the features you’de want in an app of this kind. The best thing about it for me is the fact that virtually everything is customizable. You can assign any sound in a given kit to any of the 8 pads to fit your layout preference. The kits themselves are decent for the most part (that being said, at least the acoustic ones. The electronic kits are awful. I just steer clear of those.) I also like the fact that access to your music library is integrated within the app and if you choose to drum along to your tracks that way you can adjust the playback volume to better hear your own deadly rhythm. Overall, one of my favorites and one of the most frequently used apps on my phone. Good work guys. Hopefully you get around to adding a few more kits in the near future, yeah?

Great Drums But..... I wish they would add another row of pads. 8 drums are great but 12 would be awesome. It would also be nice if you could assign the sound you want to each individual pad. Being able to play at the edge of the pads for a softer sound is a great feature. App is well worth the money. I would even pay more for more features.

Outstanding. Cant believe this doesnt have a 5 star rating. Ive tried every drum app in the app store. its a tie between this and shiny drum, but no other apps even come close. Shiny drum allows you to choose the sound for each pad, and it has 3 rows, but this one sounds so much better. Love the new updates, hope to see more in the future, especially more kits with ride cymbals!!! I would much rather have two toms and a ride than three toms. Please make a jazz kit, even if it isnt free.

What and app!!!...what-an-app!!! The best.. I have literally spent hundreds of dollars in fancy drums apps that look fancy, but perform poorly. This one has real drum sounds. And have the pads big enough to do double kicks and fast rolls. Latency is low enough where there's no loss of sound on any of the pad hits. Quite the best! Only one suggestion: more drum kits, please!

Great app, but the current update is bugged..... Have to say I absolutely love this app. Use it frequently on the go when I don't have access to a drum kit. Been waiting for some more adjustable kit options, which were added in the current update, but those are bugged, at least on my own phone. All previous kits other than the funk and classic rock kit still work perfectly fine, but those two are stuck with only using the kick sound on all pads. Any attempt to change the sound causes the app to crash. Other than that, it's very entertaining, well put together, and is surprisingly good sounding. Kudos to the devs.

Almost there. The app has great potential. Sounds are great..need more kits though. If not at least some kind of built in sound manipulator to control timbre, octaves which would help take the built in sounds to make our your custom kits. It also feels like this is for left handed people. Please build a drag/drop function so that you can arrange the pads to where it feels comfortable. And lastly which I agree with others is that this needs a recording function. So close to getting 5 stars. Can't wait to see how this turns out!

NICE !!!. Quality samples! It looks nice too. Works great. Well worth getting this one. Only thing, I would love to be able to customize the set. Select drums from all sets to make a custom set. But anyway, no real complaints.

RhythmPad is a great little Drum machine. This app has been around for long time. It is awesome that they’ve continued to upgrade this and keep it current as iOS music gets better. It really IS a great drum machine.

Overall best iOS drum app. Though it's rather limited in customization and drum kit options, this is by far the best sounding, most responsive, and best designed drum app that I've used on an iOS device. My only complaint( besides the 2 new classic and funk drum kits crashing when you try to swap out a kick drum pad) is that only one kit features a ride cymbal. I shouldn't have to use 2 iPods at once in order to use a ride cymbal with the pop kit( my favorite).

Rhythm Pad is awesome!. Awesome! I am visually impaired and use the voice over feature on my phone, which makes this app virtually accessible. This is like a drum set right in your pocket! Once I select the kit that I desired to play in my spare time, I temporarily disable the voice over function on my phone which will allow me to play the kit. The zoom system feature is also turned off so I can play three pads almost at the same time! This thing is a blast! I rated well over five stars! In fact I give it 1 million stars! This is the best! Thanks for a drum set writing your pocket. No need to assemble drum kits while traveling.

Great Fun. I have always had a secret wish to be a person in the percussion section. Finally, I can practice – and pretend that my dream has come true. I'll just close my eyes and pretend I'm there. At age 66, I don't think the young folks will hire me as a drummer. Thanks for the fun!

A Superb App. Of all the drumming apps out there, this is the one most suited to the iPad form factor. It is perfect with Pix an Stix drum sticks and the rectangular screen allows the hand to move easily and naturally around the pads, much easier than the wrist-twisting semi-circular motion around a virtual drum set. I wish there was a way the ride cymbal could have both bell and cymbal characteristics simultaneously and an option for more pads on a screen to include, for example both the ride, crash cymbals, and a floor tom. I wish there was also an option to have the kick play with the crash cymbal as it does on many other drumming apps. In all an excellent app. I'd like to see more kits like jazz and Latin Jazz and it would be nice to have full customization options within each kit without the current limitations. A sensitivity option allowing me to play a snare with less of an attack would help with some jazz grooves.

Not bad but!!. Can’t use w Bluetooth. I got this to make up beats to practice drums. Unfortunately I can’t send to my speaker.

Awesome free app!!!. I'd definitely pay for it. Easy interface and fun if you're a constant finger tapper. It would be better if you could load in your own samples, but hey, killer app!

Good sound but useless. Really its ok not the worst so it gets an extra star but quite useless I own beatmaker2 and nano studio. So this is like a small piece of those programs with vast amounts of features missing. This at least needs a record button and for the drums to have the same sound when tapped cuz I tapped a ride and snare just one time and it was loud then when I repeat fast tapping over and over it gets quiet and loud again and has like 4 diff sounds which randomly occur no sequence to it just random so it sounds bad when I need a loud sound and get a quiet one I thought I was reading the angle or how hard it hit it but no it's just random I experimented to try n make it sound the same and couldn't this app fails plus there's only 8 pads I'm used to like 16

Custom kits. This app is awesome, I love the ability to play my own songs and make my own beats. The only thing I don't like is that I like the way one snare sounds but not the kick, and vice versa. If you can give the ability to create custom drum kits with pads from different kits I'll give 5 stars. But overall a great app, easy to use especially on my ipad.

Rhythm Pad Pro. It’s great! If only I could get that Gretsch Motown sound, or the distinctive compressed sound on Al Green Let’s Stay Together. Love those 70s classic rock drums also.

Woohoo!. Lots of fun. But my wife thinks it’s super annoying. The kids love it though and I can practice my rhythms away from my kit.

This update is awesome. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you. Now, the only thing missing is MIDI clock out to be able to sync with loopers, synths and other devices and you guys are done. Awesome.

I use this app for shows nowadays. My review title speaks for itself. I was looking for drum machines/finger drum pad, non of them are practical. This app turns your ipad into a great decent sounding drum kit. The only thing you need is just practicing to get the real drum vibe and bam! Almost brilliant. A very enjoyable exercise in tapping away at virtual drum pads with a great variety of samples. By itself it's quite an addictive little app. Serious iOS music makers are gonna like the Audiobus functionality, however with no midi communication in from external apps, Rhythm pad is behind the times for anyone who wants to sequence from outside of the app.

Nice, needs more kits. The app needs more punchy kicks and snares, or the ability to take the kick from the trip hop kit and merge it with the chemical snares. That's just an example. Please add more customizability.

Crashing. Worked good, but now every time I open it a message pops up to rate it and then it crashes.

The best drum app. I love the different kits sounds and the nice pad size. The only option I would like to see, is the ability to create your own kit using the sounds available. Keep up the good work.

Good for free. I have 6 years experience on drum pad and mpc's and this is pretty good fro a free app . Also needs more pad layout options like hiding the patch display so you/I can play without hitting a different patch

Garbage. This app is so lame and original. There's no recording limited drum sounds and the sound of the drums are old and basic. Maybe would be worth something if it was a lot like dm1 or beatpad. But for now it gets -3 stars

Perfect Pad with Fast Response. Downloaded this to have a simple app for practicing finger drumming. Works perfect, no delay and multiple kits. Highly recommended.
