Adware. At least two ad pop ups every session that demand to be dismissed before you can use it. And I paid for this? This should be free adware. Will never buy another program from these folks.

Bad App. This app is horrible it doesn't even record

What they don’t tell you about “free”.. I knew this app was free, so I expected to not get everything. I knew what I was getting was going to be limited. How ever, this app gives you less than what it shows. When I opened it, I saw one category and a small list of presets. This was to be expected. What I did not expect was that out of the small list of presets only one would work. The only thing that works this app, when it comes to the effects, is the reverb. That’s all you get. Period. So instead of giving you a few effects to try out, you only get one. Anything else is in app purchase. So the “free” part of this app is not quite as free as it seems.

Worst app ever!!!!!!. This is the worst app ever. It makes no sense, and you need to import songs which takes FOREVER. Don't listen to all the good reviews. This is a bunch of CRAP!!!!!!!!!

Fraudulent in app purchase. This app charged me 26 dollars for the studio version which I never received. As if I'm using still the free version. Tried escalating it to the Apple Store never got a response.

No more than a toy until.... This is one of the ONLY audio apps in the store that doesn't work with USB connected (via camera kit) microphones. Until it does, it's no more than a toy.

Horrible app. Way to complicated. I barely know what I'm doing. There is a manual, but it says I have to "register the app" and I'm not getting into that mess. If you actually want to be successful with this app, you're going to have to spend a lot of money. Most of the stuff on there costs money. Can't tell if I'm recording my voice or not. If you like to sing and are looking for a simple app, DON'T GET THIS APP because it is anything but simple.

Using vocalive for sax. This app rocks as a replacement for my rack of gear when I play solo sax with sequences or live with a band. I can put a short delay for a doubling effect, then some reverb and a quick delaying longer delayed reverb. I then add some compression to thicken the sound. How easy, and it sounds great.

A voice ap. This would be a good app, but recording capabilities and a lot of addons should be included in the paid version. Free is nice but got the full version and still had to pay to really record. Crashes on my new iPad. Unique is the effects, but many other apps can do everything else, some for free.

Beware of deception!. First of all, I own hundreds of dollars of IKM apps and computer software and have used IKM for many years so I’ll start there. My ALL-TIME biggest gripe is that IKM ALWAYS seems to require that “one more” little element missing for that sound you’re looking for. They thrive off of that AND it’s gonna cost you money. CHECK IT OUT! Go to the IKM App site and look at their “Total Bundle” offering...total, right? Nope! You look right under the “get” button and you’ll notice “In app purchases”. So it’s NOT a “ Total” bundle! They have cost me more money when they decide I need to upgrade my software (Sonic Synth 2 & the old Miroslav) if I want what I purchased to continue working. If you want quality no-nonsense plugins or music apps, Native Instruments, EastWest Sounds and others are superior and you get what you get AND KEEP what you get...no gold digging! IKM...I hope you read this and get a clue!

Purchase? Well kinda. App works fine once your orientated but this company is greedy. Your in app “purchases” will be gone for a multitude of reasons . There’s no logging in or restoring a previous purchase .

Buyers Beware!!!. Prior to the update I would've Highly recommended this app! The update offered some much welcomed features. However, it also introduced a major flaw into the equation! The iPads built in mic no longer functions properly with the Vocalive app! When I sing it barely picks up the sound of my voice. It causes my voice to sound muffled! The problem is not with the settings as I turned up the input on the built in mic with in the apps settings. The problem is not with my iPad either as the built in mic works perfectly with my other apps. This new problem in my opinion makes this app useless and a waste of money! Please stay tuned as I will update this review once a new update is released that corrects the problem... FYI this review in no way reflects my opinion of the free version of Vocalive as I have not used the free version for more than 2 years now. It only reflects my views and experience of the paid version! Again, please stay tuned for an update to this review

Why paying double the money. I purchase this app and also paid for the full package bundle with the studio version and I can not use it on my I pad because the screens are not the same on an iPhone or iPad ,I pay $30 dollars for the package bundle studio and now they want me to pay another $30 dollars so I can use it on my iPad that is pure sneaky business very disappointed.

Potential. This app has potential but very hard to use

So much potential. This app has so much potential but you cant use any high end mics since it is not compatible with the Alesis IO dock. Using cheap toy mics makes this app just a toy.

Review. Not enough import options, also not compatible with numerous other music related apps. Still great quality options and voice FX. Needs new update also this one is getting pretty old

Are you kidding me!?!?. Doesn't work with any USB microphone at all. Almost spent money on the full version.

Can't upload tracks. Says to convert to .wav .... Don't know what happened.

Decent App. Works as promised...I have no issues other than learning how to use everything.

Bad processing. I spent $4.99 on a compressor that I needed to try and handle some vocal processing while my actual equipment was occupied. The free reverb and purchased compressor made a digital robot noise after every processed signal and were terrible. I would love to get my money back because I am deleting the app. Definitely do not recommend!

Record doesn't work. I have I rig and it works fine. But this app doesn't record. I reinstalled the app twice no change. I reset my new iPad no change. Must be a bug. Please fix and I'll buy the app. Marty

Awesome Tool. And like all Big Boy Toys, you have to know how to use them. I don't understand all the bad reviews. Most of them appear to be from people who have little concept of what this app does, and does for free! If you want the bells and whistles, buy the 20 dollar version instead of the ala carte version. I plan to right now. There are a few legitimate complaints listed with justifiable reasons. Thousands of dollars of vocal effects processing for free, and people complain! I think it's a very well done app. And still a value being nickel and dimed with in app purchases. I do wish all their apps (Amplitube,Vocalive and Midi) could somehow integrate together, maybe in the next version. Oh and I like my Irig mic quite well. Another value for the money.

Registration isn't working. I try to register, which will give me a free module, and it says my email address is already on record so I used reset password. They email me a temp password. I try to register and it says it's incorrect. To review my login information. I tried resetting it three time and the same error. Like I would risk $20 when their registration doesn't even work.

So when do I get to register?. I got the app for the doubler...... cant get it???

Full Featured Vocal Recorder & Live Performance App!!!. I’ve been playing, singing and recording music since 1983 and over the years I’ve had a lot of equipment that has cost me thousands of dollars and this is something that packs a punch for a small fraction of the price! The only thing that I haven’t purchased yet is the looper, but that’ll come later. The only thing that I see at this point in time that needs to be updated is the (Files App) integration instead of the (iTunes Sharing) feature which is old! I’m really wanting to recommend this app for people doing live singing that can’t afford all the equipment that exist in the real world for this kind of output! Really hoping the developer continues to support this awesome app!!!

Not even a little fun because of blocked functions. This is so limited, with anything interesting requiring buying the full version. This free version just wasted my time and makes me not want to buy anything from this company.

MIDI. Please fix the MIDI. I tried using Audiobus to sync this with loopy. I use pedals to operate loopy, but there is no option where you can disable the MIDI in this app. This means that I cant loop what I want while using this app due to the MIDI settings...

Greed first, musicians second. I believe that IK Multimedia probably has some value somewhere in their system, but to me they seem to be so greedy that I will spend my money elsewhere with their less greedy competitors.

I love the app. But when you export the song it sounds differnt like scratchy or something

Simple, Yet Very Useful. Using this app to allow the use of an exterior mic with the iPad camera. Nice, clean sound and the ability to set the appropriate level for recording.

In App Trap. Bought their iRig Mic, with the "free" app, but the app is barley functional, and every other button I press tells me it is about to purchase the full version. Don't bother.

Vocal live. When one considers the capabilities of this software, for the price paid for full capabilities, one must feel a sense of being rolled. One thing that it does really, really well, it steals your money legally. It is sucker software, and I am a sucker. Shame on you IK. I'm not going to bother getting into it's misgivings, as they are obvious to anyone that uses this. The price tag for full purchase is over 50 bucks! Expectations should be higher than the tallest mountain, and IK gives you elementary possibilities. What a crock! This is 5 dollar software, not 50. Somebody call the BBB. I will await a monster update to justify this heavy price tag.

Cool app. Nice to use.. Can't find a FF button. Maybe it's me. In app purchases can get pricey. If there were a package deal would be better.. It would be nice if you bought app for one appliance., and want it for another, you would get a discount.

apps crash. after i updates ios6 when i use this app i create new file it crash and the app exit automatically can you fix the problem

Don't Upgrade to the Paid Version!. The reverb works pretty good in this version, huh? Well, don't let that trick you into buying the full version. The latency (delay) is too long when using more sophisticated modules such as choir or pitch fix. In addition, it prone to noise and artifacts when doing anything that involves pitch detection. I wanted to use if for live performance, but it is simply too weak. Too bad….

Crashes. Not sure why, but the app crashes every time I try. To open it. Will change my rating when I can actually use it.

Super buggy. App simply stops working when you try to lay multiple tracks. It works great for only 1 track however (which defeats the whole purpose). Horrible. Don't waste your money. They provide no updates to fix this either!

In-app purchases don't transfer!. I downloaded the Free version for iPhone and then bought the Choir effect through an in-app purchase. Then I downloaded the free version for iPad and clicked to restore in-app purchases and it didn't download the Choir effect I previously bought. But I can BUY it again for the same price of $4.99. What a rip-off! You can't tell me there's any difference from the iPhone to the iPad version. It's just DISGUSTING corporate GREED!

Such a disappointment. Was working well until it started crashing every time I try to open it. 100’s of hours of recording wasted and now inaccessible and have been waiting over a year for an update to fix the problem. Avoid the heartache and use something else!

Where is the instruction?. Very basic usability. I'm sure there are more features, it's difficult to find. RELENTLESS cross-advertising- every time you open the app there are 3 or 4 pop ups inviting you to buy another app. Would have been a better use of resources to invest more in video tutorials for product support & optimisation.

Not Pro. Doesn’t see my Zoom U44. The latency is absolutely ridiculous. If you are a pro with pro gear, you will be sadly disappointed.

No longer working on iPad. I liked it till I updated my iPad and iPhone and now it no longer opens, either a fix or a refund would be appropriate rn I’m not pleased

Very disappointing. Difficult to use. Manual inscrutable. Bought the add-ons but Could not make recording effects work despite consulting manual multiple times. And won't work with a regular USB mic. Booooo!

Good app but doesn't work since iOS 8 pretty frustrating.... I would give 5 stars unless as an existing user of a flagship product I have audiobus initialization error ever since upgraded to iOS 8. It's sad that it's not a priority to get that fixed.

Fix it please..... I have been using this for a long long time, it used to be okay and after the new update the fx effects are blurring my recordings.... Also some other bugs .. Please fix it!!

Poor support. This product has the absolute worst support. Good money down the drain. Strongly recommend not purchasing this app. Costly and when I went to move it to a new device they were unable to provide access or a PDF copy of the user manual. Save your money and look for someone more reliable and helpful than This company. After a week and a half of emails no resolution. I would rate it 0 stars if I could.

Worked for my simple needs. I simply wanted something to allow me to plug in a mic so my daughter could sing along with songs karaoke-style. This worked great as I can import any song from iTunes and she can sing along. It doesn't have the lyrics, but we can find them other ways and I only wanted a makeshift karaoke, as the real karaoke apps all have drawbacks.

Turned to crap!. This apps was great about a year ago. Has gone downhill. Why?? In the last few months it is noisy, clitchy, scratchy and jumpy! Horrible and frustrating. I am disgusted!

Lacks audiobus support. No audio bus support so pretty useless. Not worth buying until this happens. Probably why its on sale. Might buy it if they ever add this support and have a sale at the same time.

Stay away. Won’t let you use the add ones you pay for. Registration is glitchy. Won’t incorporate with AmpliTube Frustrating.

It's ok but.... really needs support for usb mics/audio interfaces...If I could plug in my Zoom H2 I wouldnt even think twice about purchasing the full version.

Terrible - even if it’s free. For Christmas, my kids bought me this company’s iRig BlueBoard (foot pedal), iRig Midi Interface and iRig Microphone together with a suite of relevant software (AmpliTube, etc.) Nothing worked. And, perhaps I should explain that for 40 years I was a professor of mathematics and cognitive science at Northwestern, UMass, Purdue, and Indiana Universities - as well as being a software developer and experienced user of computer-based technologies. I’ve now retired and play a harmonica in several local bands (blues, country, rock, bluegrass). I mention this only to make it clear that I’m not an inexperienced user of these kinds of technologies. When I first experienced problems with IK Multimedia’s gadgets and software, I contacted their tech support people, and all they did was to tell me to read their manuals. I did this. And, to prove that I read the manuals thoroughly, I went though one of the manuals and make line-by-line editorial comments pointing out how nearly every sentence was either: (1) unhelpful, (2) completely unclear, (3) incomplete, or (4) completely wrong (in the sense that what was said simply wasn’t accurate). Then, I once again simplified my questions and contacted IK’s tech support people. This time, I did get a few suggestions about possible solutions to my problems. But, once again, virtually every sentence in this message was either: (1) completely unclear, (2) incomplete, or (3) completely wrong (in the sense that what was said simply wasn’t accurate). Also, the tech support person stated that some of the problems that I confronted could only be solved by purchasing more equipment that performed functions that IK Multimedia’s web site claims that their products are intended to do. Next, I tried going to IK Multimedia’s web site to see if there were other ways to get technical support. The contact numbers that were given reported that “the tech support lines were down.” And now, three days later, “the lines are still down." I’ve now seem to have no options except to ask for my money back on these purchases. … If you want to get a quick verification of what I’ve said, try downloading the things that are called “users manuals” for IK Multimedia’s products. The shortcomings will be obvious. These “users manuals” are not really users manuals at all. The simply describe what the products claim to do, but they give almost no information about how you (the user) could actually do any of these things. Also, these “users guides” contain a bunch of nearly identical photographs which contribute almost nothing to the meaningfulness of the text. … In more than 40 years of using a lot of computer-based tools, I’ve never encountered anything this bad in terms of overstated claims, completely useless “users guides”, and dismal tech support.
