Garbage app. Magazine might be great but I wouldn't know because I refuse to pay twice for one issue to get it to download. If the devs spent half as much energy on making a functional app as they did on promotions, nag screens and assaulting the user with pop ups and interstitial junk, they might have created something worth using. I have never encountered greater friction in on-boarding. Idiocy. Don't give these people your money. Thanks for constantly harassing me to review your app. It's the one prompt I heeded.

Problems!. I thoroughly enjoyed this magazine app until the most recent update. Now there is no store to purchase issues and I cannot access my previously purchased issues!!!!

Why did we need Newsstand again?. This is all just a total scam! You can't search for free magazines in the App Store, because they're all free (to download, not subscribe). What was wrong with having magazines in iBooks, or with their own apps like The Daily. Now I have this worthless icon that I can't delete and I can't even merge into another group. I HATE Newsstand!!!

No access after 3.1.4 update. The app no longer lets me bring up my magazines - it hangs on the splash page for about 45 seconds, then drops back to IPad desktop.

Ugh! What an eyesore!. Why do iPad magazines not realise that just because you CAN have flashing logos and stupid popups everywhere doesn't mean you SHOULD! Every article (even the long ones) are on a single page and smothered in buttons and frames that make the whole thing look like a bad night in Atlantic City! Seriously, look at what other magazines are doing (Vogue, Wired etc). They may not have as many flashy buttons but at least you can read them!

Garbage. I bought this a year ago and when my renewal email came last week this was the easiest subscription to let expire. Out of the whole year I had this I was only able to download 3 issues. Every time I would download the latest issues it would quit halfway over "connection issues” and I can download a whole episode of an hour long tv show in 10min but it takes a dozen tries over a few days to download a magazine issue? The Magazine is pretty cool but I’d get the print version. This Digital one is a complete waste

Worthless. The content for Total Film is great, it's why I like the magazine. This app is so choppy & aggravating; no excuse for it. Doesn't download correctly, or takes forever & then has glitches with ability to read.

Repeated downloading. A great disappointment. I hardly do reviews. This one is necessary. Pain point is that i continually need to download the issues that were downloaded a million times before into my library. Every time I check my library, it is always empty. I should have read the reviews. Great content but the app is, to say the least, well below average and needs major improvements.

no free trial, garbage and scam. Do not waste time on this app, developer lure users by free trial which does not exist. But since you downloaded it you paid it, because developer uses number of downloads app in its profit, and you can not delete this app from your downloads.

Not free. This app will take you to a subscription screen. It is stated you may purchase a single digital issue, or a subscription. It should also be noted that the terms & conditions, and Privacy Policy are only available online, meaning you have to have wi-fi to access them.

Free... Sure and I'm the Dalai Lama. The app is free, the issues are not. They offer a "free subscription" but that just means you get your first two issues free when you pay for a regular subscription. Weak!

Clunky, not optimized for tablet use - avoid. What a disappointing app for a magazine in the business of audio visual entertainment. The Total Film app is nothing more than a high definition PDF that needs to refocus every time the reader changes a page or even moves around on a single page. This app takes no advantage of the opportunities offered by the iPad in the way that dedicated, fully function magazine apps do. Golf Digest, for one, is designed for the iPad and provides videos, teaching visuals that the reader can control, outside links, and the great navigation system found on many dedicated iPad magazine apps including the New Yorker. I'm glad that I bought a single issue rather than the subscription since it is so cumbersome to read on an iPad. Avoid until the magazine wakes up. Separately, how about offering Empire Magazine in the US store as well. Would like to give that one a try.

Crap. I paid for the year subscription and every time I open the app it says "Failure to open store. Please try again." I want my money back.

VERY Glitchy. Crashes at least once a week and often requires me to re-download issues are I sync--a process that is VERY slow and cannot be done in the background (in other words, if you close the app, it stops downloading issues). Good magazine and I don't mind paying, but this one doesn't work. UPDATE: I have written to the developers twice, but NO reply and NO REFUND of my subscription. This is a complete and total rip-off and I will be contacting my credit card company to reverse the charge. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Great content, horrible app.. Total film is great, period. Yet the app is poorly designed and buggy (some issues may be Apple's fault). Downloads take ages and are unreliable, the app crashes regularly. For some reason they insist on a style where the text is in a tiny box at the bottom with a huge picture above. Instead of scrolling across the whole screen the text remains limited which is very frustrating.

Great for movie lovers!. I used to read EW but they updated their app and it won't let you read the mag and when I called to tell them, they had no solution. BUT, in the process, discovered Total Film, waaaay better than EW!

my favorite magazine. UPDATE: just downloaded the new version optimized for the retina display. WOW. I'm liking this new format!!! the font size can be adjusted now, the pictures look much better!!! haven't had much time to actually read it to test out other new features but so far, I'm happy. Now, as soon as Newsstand downloads automatically, I'm changing this to 5 stars!!! I am very happy that my fav magazine is finally on iPad!!! And since I live in the US, this is waaaay cheaper than my old paper subscription! Only thing, and maybe it's me, but newsstand is not automatically downloading the new issue for me. I get a notification from TF that a new issue is out but I needed to go to the app and download it myself...same as MacLife which I think is the same parent company as TF. I will change it to 5 stars when it does download like its supposed to, cuz the magazine is just great, no complains. Just tiny technical issue.

Nice idea. But you would think the prices would be much lower considering there is no overhead for printing or mailing.

Total Garbage more like it. App won't open. Immediately crashes. I can see the last article after double clicking home button but once app is selected it crashes.

Wonderful weekends. Not easy to find on newsstands in US it was always a treat to find a copy. I could be sure of several hours reading pleasure to reward my successful treasure hunt. No longer a chore to find, the digital version is even better than the elusive hard copy. And instead of several hours pleasure I have a weekend of enjoyment. And if that's not enough I haven't killed a tree or accumulated dusty stacks of old newsprint.

All Future subs inaccessible. My Prog, Total Film and SFX subscriptions have disappeared since the last iOS update.

Awesome. I this digital download is fabulous however like the last writer to many ad's, I know the bills has to payed. I started downloading magazines because your paying $5 to $6 for a magazine full of ad's, haven't that said Total Films is a one of kind magazine. Love the articles & interviews along a few sneak peaks. Thank you & keep up the great work

Bookmarks not working. By the way while I'm bothering with a review, the content is still great, but I do miss the interactive version of the magazine, and I do not care for the way the change was handled.

Duh?!. gadlaw and your mom is crazy.. You two are stupid. Of course content is not free. You really think publishers are just going to give out their stuff for free. It's a "reader" app where you can subscribe inside and read issues and is the only way to subscribe. FYI all magazines in Newsstand are reader/shell apps and are all free.

Font size is too small now. Not sure when this update occurred but the font of the magazine text is way too small now. You have to zoom in to read it comfortably whereas before it was unnecessary.

Needs landscape mode. Great content! Add landscape mode and I'd def give it a 5.

Bait and switch don't download. Well, you know, they give you a 'newstand' for magazines, and I'm guessing all the 'free' mags to try this are all not real, you don't get a magazine to examine, you get a screen allowing you the privilege of buying one of the magazines for about five bucks. So basically the free magazine list is a lie. So don't waste your time. FYI

Commercials and Spiderman.. Open newest issue yesterday to read and was hit with a commercial. I paid to subscribe and I have to watch a stupid commercial? No thanks. And 3 of the last 6 or 7 issues have has Spiderman on the cover. Slow news year? I have cancelled my auto-renew.

Just the print version. Doesn't really take advantage of iPad possibilities, no video or interactivity but still an ok movie mag I suppose

Can't download purchased item. 24 hours after buying magazine download is only at 36%. Have deleted and reinstalled app as suggested in help guide but still nothing. Very frustrating. I might as well have thrown my money out my car window.

the Waterworld of digital magazines. Clunky, slow to download, unresponsive, no support, rubbish!~

Simply put...doesn't work.. It's a shame when something seemingly straightforward should be so complicated. After numerous attempts to download a magazine after purchase, no such luck. Online support, whilst appreciated, failed to fix the problem. Until these issues are fixed, avoid this app like the plague.

And 2 hours later it's still downloading. I probably could've gone to the shops and bought an actual copy 6 times over in the amount of time it takes to download any of these magazine apps

Which version of this app is still working?. The latest update is a total nightmare. I can't log in into the magazine app any more. Will not renew!

Too slow. Takes +24 hours to download one magazine. Not good.

Beware amount of download. This app cost me hundreds in excess download fees as it doesn't list anywhere how much each magazine is and it added a number of requests that I did not ask for. Buyer beware.

Charged twice. I subscribed for 6 months then was charged again for the December issue. I emailed and haven't gotten a response. I want my money back!

Film. The App is free, but from then on you must pay a weekly, monthly subscription - it is a deceptive way to get your dollars. Come Film mag be straight up!!!

Subscription not restoring. My iTunes subscription does not restore after updating the app. Have tried restoring several times and nothing. I have contacted them and had no response in how to rectify this, not happy! Have now been unable to download October and November issues, which I’ve paid for!!

Be careful before buying a lengthy subscription. The publisher of this magazine also published Nintendo Gamer, which was cancelled part way through a 12 month subscription. This publisher claims that iTunes will refund the outstanding subscription but iTunes won't. Publisher is not answering emails to its support address. Subscribe with caution.

Free subscription?. Was charged $2.19 immediately when it said Free and to cancel the further automatic debits which all costs, is impossible. Very dishonest.

All magazines downloaded are corrupted. Really unimpressed. All the magazines I've tried downloading have been corrupted and unreadable. I'd like my money back please!

Unbelievably terrible!!!. In app downloads are incredibly slow, the worst I've ever seen in an app. Do not waste your time and money on this f$&king time vampire!!!
