Terrible and horrible customer service. Your app does not work an you are no help

I am a subscriber but cannot activate my account. With the ‘new’ app. I can read my paper online.

Frustrating app. I have used this app for keeping up with the Lubbock and surrounding area news since I moved out of town in 2012, along with the obits. I can’t even count how many times I get kicked out and have to completely start over from the beginning to find where I was and try again, only to have it happen all over again. Today it shut down completely four.. yes FOUR times, while I was trying to read the obit of a friend, I’m TOTALLY FRUSTRATED with this app! The app has been updated and format is much nicer, but that doesn’t help if you keep getting shut down. Also, when you find an obit that you need to go into to read the entire thing, this app won’t let you go back to the page where you were... NO, you have to go back to the beginning of the obituaries and start all over again! The really frustrating part about this is that it has been this way since 2012 to my knowledge (maybe longer)...there is no excuse for this not being changed for such a long period of time! I gave it only 2 stars, simply because the app has been updated improving a few other matters... but that’s probably 2 stars too many!

Awful. Awful

No Comics. The use of the App only, does not have the comics. The main reason we continue to get the paper versions, is for the comics.

Enjoyed. I grew up in Lubbock area and now live in Houston. I have enjoyed reading the A-J since I was a Teenager. With the online paper I am still able to keep up with the Lubbock and surrounding news. You guys do a great Jon!

Terrible upgrade. I gave it one star bc you can't give zero. Upgraded last night. Went from occasionally useful to completely worthless. After 5 tries of it clicking off I downloaded it again. Now after a long wait I get to the screen where all the buttons should be, but there's none. Deleted.

Newest app glitchy. This newest app has issues. More trouble loading. Printing of puzzles is 50/50 if it will work. The full newspaper edition is harder to read compared to the older version. It honestly has me leaning toward canceling.

Horrible. This update is horrible-can’t print crossword- bridge column or sudoku!!!

New A-J Ap. The ap froze up so I went to the ap store and reloaded. I want my newspaper to look like one. Where did that go? Went on line and couldn’t get past March 5th, 2021. Guess it’s back to the paper edition…….

Bad Format. The format of the news is terrible. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what news headlines are on the page. This app needs lots of cleaning up to be more useful.

I Love Lubbock. Lubbock represents being the hometown area for my raised in Shallowater wife. We are there often and follow the ‘goings on’ in the city and Texas Tech daily. I read the A-J daily. Keep up the good work.

Absolute waste of my time. It is called the AJ app for the Lubbock Avalanche Journal and I can't get the A-J at all. No menu No instructions, just a bunch of stuff I did not ask for

Good application. Crappy newspaper to begin with. This review doesn't belong here but the AJ needs to write longer stories. Instead of the majority being three paragraphs

Slow to Alert. The only complaint is that after severe weather hit Lubbock with hail, I received my wx alert long after the storm had passed. If this had been a tornado on the ground, this apps slow response could have caused unnecessary deaths. Thanks for alternate wx apps that we're quick to alert. WORK ON IT!!!

Innovative!. Love mobile bill pay and mobile deposit all in one easy to use app. Get this app and saved a trip to the bank and mail box!

Organization. The paper is not as wall organized as it was. Nor previously published issuer are not available & not as well organized as before.

Doesn't work. Don't download it. It doesn't work.

Update. I loved having the newspaper format. Hate update! If i wanted my news in this new format, id cancel the AJ & just read other news apps! I should have the choice of format like before the update! I think i WILL cancel!

Solid community resource!. My awareness of South Plains area news is primarily keyed to access to the redoubtable Lubbock Avalanche Journal, even though it's common to experience sports stories devoid of team gender identification or sport.

Why change. The most led print edition app was good….now every time I read newspaper it comes with a cover page directing me to other app! Pathetic!

Great local news. I do like reading the Lubbock AJ on my tablet. Love the local stories and sports. Alex Driggars, Nathan Giese and Don Williams always have local stories that are worthwhile and newsworthy. Keep up the good work.

The Lubbock avalanche journal. Awful! This app and my iPad do not get along! Am considering canceling my subscription. Please restore old print app for iPads. The current version has a severe aversion to the Safari browser!

Much improved since rollout. It took awhile, but finally it works very well.

Almost no content; no pictures at all. The app seems not to work well at all (iOS 8.1.2, iPhone 6+), with most sections missing content and no photos being displayed. Bugs, or is this abandoned?

E edition. Hard to navigate , why not show in full page format ? FtWorth StarTelegram easier to navigate and read .

Stalls. I know used to enjoy the E newspaper more than I do now. Maybe I don’t know how to operate the revised version. I don’t know. I read my paper on my iPad every morning, and when I want to change to the next page, sometimes it just takes me back to the front and I have to hunt for the page and that’s not good. also sometimes it’ll freeze on the page for a long time and then it’ll start going and I have the fastest Suddenlink Internet. There is so I don’t know. I never had this problem before the revision. Nonetheless, I get the paper read every morning with struggles, but he gets done.

App not working. The app hasn’t worked correctly for a couple weeks. Need to get it fixed ASAP, I’m paying for subscription that I can’t access.

Remove Captcha from Login. Requiring captcha for login is not needed for this service. If you are going to have a captcha you should use invisible captcha which doesn’t require users to select boxes. This is especially important for older users as they often select incorrect captcha boxes.

Useless. I don't like to write negative reviews, but in this case I'll make an exception....for me, this app is useless. When I get a news alert and click on it, it either freezes my phone, or crashes and doesn't take me anywhere. Mostly it takes me to the app where it is impossible to get to the story. Please update or fix so that I don't have to delete the app. I have put up with this for a lonnnngggg time!!!

Used to be much better. It doesn't fit correctly on the screen. Old version included the temperature. The old version was so much easier to use and better than this one

Used to be good*. I used to use this app daily, but someone changed something and now only the headings of the article show up. Kind of pointless if you have to go to the web to read the article. Fix this. *Update: it seems my earlier complaint was fixed the next day. I've updated the stars for fixing this problem so quickly. Thank you

It could be better. When I click on an alert it should lead to the story. Not just all the stories there. When I get an alert I want to know more. This last alert only showed 1/2 a sentence so I'm left hanging.

Doesn't work..!!! So messed up..!!!. I've deleted and re-installed this app twice but it simply doesn't work...!!!!! No wonder newspapers are going out of business...

Mikey7. This app doesn't even deserve a rating. It is horrible. And you can tell how much the AJ staff cares. Hasn't worked for a long time. Think you might want to get it corrected if you want to promote it????

Lousy app. Don't bother. Better news coverage almost anywhere else. Does not load right. No photos. iPad app is excellent. This one is not.

Needs some upgrades. While it's good when you catch the notifications on your screen, if you missed that notification, good luck trying to find what was the breaking story 30 seconds before. Also, needs a way to keep the username stored. Having to type in email and password every time you're trying to read a story is a nuisance and only convinces me to try another news app to find what I need.
