iMuscle 2 provides users with the ability to zoom into an area on our 3D human body and tap on a muscle to reveal exercises and stretches targeted to the development and/or rehabilitation of that specific muscle. Once identified, just add it to a workout. The app also features our unique animations which provide direction on how to properly perform each exercise. 1. To work on a particular body area, zoom into the area on our 3D model. Tap on a muscle you want to work on and a thumbnail list of all the exercises associate with that muscle will be presented.

2. Select an exercise and you'll be shown an animated 3D model performing that exercise. You'll also see a written detailed description of how to perform the exercises. Primary and secondary muscles targeted will also be highlighted.

3. Add the exercise to a workout.

Good reference. Bad workout tracker.. This seldom-updated app does have a massive catalog of exercises. You can zoom in on any muscle and get literally dozens of exercises that will work it either directly or indirectly. But the workout half is really rudimentary and does not keep up with the other workout apps on the app store, which is a real shame. Currently apps will use AI to customize workouts, decide what you need to exercise, make a program for you, track progress, time intervals and rest periods, Apple Watch and Apple Health integration and so on. Fitbod is what I use for that. It also includes support you can get from real trainers. (and a subscription price which I find worthwhile, so far.) If I could take Fitbod’s smarts and match them with iMuscle’s exercise catalog and graphics, I’d have the perfect workout app. Right now, this is really just a good reference, which is 3D4medical’s (the developer’s) whole business model with their other apps.

Awesome App!. Whether you are interested in working out or just in learning about the muscular system, this is a great app. I am looking to focus on specific areas for conditioning and this is a very useful app for my purposes. In addition, it has fed my curiosity about physiology and learning the names of the muscles. Highly recommend.

Good for anatomy info. Good view of muscles and helpful suggestions for movement I never use the barbell and equipment recommendations so can’t comment on that

Great substitute to personal training. I started using the app a year ago As a supplement to personal training and loved it. It keeps me organized motivated and on track at all times. Absolutely love this app because it allows me not only see and create the right schedule of exercises but also visually see and read about how to perform it's correctly.

Excellent. Very good app that clearly isolates muscles and exercises both for strengthening and, more important, stretching.

Please continue improving this app. Been using this app since its launch. Please don't abandon the app.

Super helpful. A great app that helps bridge the mind’s ability to see the otherwise invisible. It’s great for quickly learning stretches and exercises based on the muscle you pick with the ability to save your own favorites into a playlist. A gift to the world.

A must buy!. I love this app

Clinically inaccurate and dangerous. I am a physician that works extensively in a rehabilitative setting with a large patient base with chronic pain. Nearly all of the exercises listed in these videos show crucially and clinically dangerous executions of the movements. Nearly all barbell moves listed will contribute to a significant increase in the likelihood of disc herniations, SI instability, facet irritation, and discogenic pain generators when performed as they are in the animations. How can so many be so wrong? The same is true for nearly all kettlebell exercises and body weight movements. I was shocked to see that the entire program in unacceptable to show to my patients. If you are the designer of this or have any influence on this program, please reach out to me to correct these errors. If you are someone looking for good exercise guides, do not get this app. Buy Starting Strength and then go from there.

Great app. This is my go-to app whenever I am trying to target an area for working out or for understanding the source of a particular ache or pain. It is very, very useful.

Awesome app. Thanks to this app I no longer pay for a personal trainer :)) I pick the area I want to work on, design my workout schedule & set my iPad on the machine & go for it. I get to see what muscle group I'm working & my skinless man doesn't judge me. :)

Great views with detail. The ability to rotate and customize viewing it is one of the best anatomy apps out there and then you get expertise on what exercise works those areas...totally worth the space on my iPad

Great Fitness App!!!!!. Love this app. It's great to be able to select muscle groups that you want to work out and then track your workout and progress.

Great app!!!. This is the best app around. My friend and I started working out and you can create workouts for each person. Once you set up the workout it is really easy to log the reps and weight. You can send the workouts to another iPhone or iPad which is handy if you have a workout partner. The gym can be a bit intimidating but with this app you have the confidence of knowing not only what muscle you are working but if you are doing it correctly because it shows you how. It also let's you explore free weights more if you are a beginner. I was always afraid I was doing them wrong. Even if you are not a beginner it is a great way to track your workouts and see your progress...Worth every penny. Can't wait to see how it evolves!!

Need some improvement. It make my exercise routines in a better result. However, - App itself is quite laggy. - Would be great if user can add .gif or even better with video for customized exercises.

Muscle mapping extradinaire. Outstanding guide for mapping exercises to muscle groups. It is not only a remarkable development tool,but it gives exercises for specific muscles. It would be nice if there were also group mappings as well. For example, to develop quads, you need to look at the muscles that are more specific. As a novice anatomy guy, it would be helpful to look at groups. Or, maybe I should just keep doing it, and get advice from external experts. Anyway, well worth the money, and a fitness trek that I really enjoy. Update: This is app is so good, that I was wondering what would make it better (beside the obvious more exercises and group muscle collections), and it occurred to me that a timer that could address the four areas of emphasis: hypertrophy, strength, strength endurance, and power. A rest time progress more and feedback on rep level indicating when you were moving from one zone into another. I bet this would be tough, but feedback on rest periods between sets or reps would be the ultimate personal trainer. But I love it and it's worth the price as is.

Extremely useful and helpful. Whenever I get curious as to how I can change up my routine, I can always come on here and find all types of different workouts. It's easy to manipulate, knowledgable on all ,use every groups and different types of workouts for them. It leaves out some of the grueling research and adds and opinions you find online. Highly suggested and a great app.

Great value. This is a GREAT value for anyone into fitness that cares about the details of their muscle With relation to the exercises they're doing. I previously bought the Muscle System Pro III app ($20) which is similar, but is geared toward medical students and allows you to remove muscle layers. However, this app is more applicable to me as my main interest is fitness. Pretty much all basic standard weightlifting exercises are included here. For the future, I'd like to see some of the basic kettlebell exercises in. (The Kettlebell Training Basics app has most of those). Also related, I see a lot of cross fitters would want snatches, cleans, jerks, etc done with Olympic weights... These would be excellent additions and would make this app even better. All in all, this is an amazing app, highly recommended.

Sync with phone. I love this app but I can not get my workouts to sync on my phone and iPad. I love how I can make up my workouts and see what muscles I am using. I would give it 5 stars if it was able to sync. Maybe I am missing something.

I will over look having to buy separately for iPad/iPhone .... The reason I bought this for my iPad mini, was because it's a very good app on my iPhone. I do feel like they could add more exercises. That would definitely give 5 stars. Please do not abandon the app and keep adding exercises. This app has changed my life (genuinely).

no universal app. I bought the app for Ipad, now I dont got my ipad any more! and I cant use app on my iphone! I have to pay once again :( help me and I will change my Rating to 5star

great app!!!. This app is very informative and allows you to plan your workouts by muscle group. You can create individual workouts with rep ranges, sets, alternating sides etc. and it works as a drag and drop to add specific exercises. You can also track your fat% and measurements.

BEST APP for workout people!!!. First of all, this is one of the cool aap and very very useful. All my friends bought it and I been accused that I work for this company hehe... It definitely needs upgrade. I have noticed few things if implemented in upgrade will bring this app on TOP. 1. I cannot shuffle the exercises in the workout TAB. 2. say I made a tab called "Abs". Now when i get in that workout tab. I wanted to see the 4th exercise like what muscles its working on. But there is no way you can click on that. 3. I cannot PAUSE the workout. 4. I cannot switch the Workouts. 5. I need to log everything in some external file format like xls or doc 6. I cannot forward the workout sheet. and many more things I will be posting. All the above points DO NOT indicate that this app is in anyway not worth it. I would love to see quality apps like this one for pilates, strenghtening, stretching... Good job guys!!!! APPEND: And I see people complaining abt this app crashing or pins not working. I will advise to uninstall and install again. Shut down ur iPad and then try again.

Good for finding exercises but not good for tracking workouts. Good app for identifying exercises for specific muscles and groups. But I stopped using it for active workout recording because you can’t change a created workout on the fly. Let’s say you decide you want to add a leg exercise to your workout while you’re at the gym. You can’t just go find the exercise and add it. You have to stop the workout. Exit it. Go find the new routine. Add it to the specific, saved workout and then start the whole thing all over again. You can’t just drag and drop an exercise into a workout while you’re actually in the workout. That makes it unusually cumbersome and really limited for me personally. I also can’t get prior workout info without actually starting the workout, going to the exercise, checking history, then exit the workout. That’s clumsy. So I want to know what I was benching 2 weeks ago? Can’t do that. All it records is the last workout I did. So now I use Apple Notes to track my workouts while I’m in progress. This iMuscles 2 app is now reduced to just being a wiki-type resource for finding a new exercise. Which makes it just one more app that does the same thing as many, many other apps. It’s too expensive for that limited utility.

Love it! Love it! Love it!. The only thing I would advise is to put be able to put a timer on the exercises and/or the entire workout. This targets exactly what you want to workout.

Best fitness routine app out.. Have not found a better app that gives specific exercises for specific muscles.

Amazing!!!. Ok so this app is fantastic! The UI is incomparable to other fitness apps I've used over the years. The ability to select through indexes of both muscle name and workout is awesome, but the pins pull it all together. With the app telling in words and showing visually how the workout movement should be really helps when pointing things out for the novice lifters! However it needs some updates; 1. Once you design a workout you should have more ability to customize and adjust other than move and delete. Like reps, sets, weight, or move one lift to another workout by dragging. 2. When adding to workout, make the "left, right, both sides" options available for all lifts! Saves time for user. 3. Expand on the amount of lifts. Add in a few hundred or even dozen more would be awesome. 4. When you pick a pin, instead of having a flow bar of lifts, I think a grid may be nice. 5. Lastly, and this is more of a comment. But for a developing company with high level medical apps, you guys do realize you are missing one of the muscles in the Quad right? Overall 5 stars! With and update, I'd wish I could give it ten. Definitely recommend.

Awesome app. Your almost to a five with me on both iPad and iPhone app. A few things I would add to it for setting up a workout routine would be giving the option to set up compound and super sets along with giving a spot for notes for each exercise and for the workout in general. Also make it so it works in the background as seeing as its an app people use there pad or phone for music and other things during a workout too. I've told so many people bout this app and have gotten a few friends and other trainers to get it and use with their clients and they've thanked me a couple times already for finding this app. Great job guys! Will definitely check out your other apps in the future.

Very helpful. I work out at home and use only body weight and dumbbells. It would be nice to be able to put a (2) designation in front of the amount of weight, when I am using two dumbbells at once, for clarity.

Easy and useful. I find what I’m looking for quickly and am able to create a variety of workouts that fit my needs.

Does the Human Body Justice. This is truly a beautiful app. If only I had this (and other NOVA apps) when I went to PT school 25 years ago. I'll admit after communicating with a very helpful rep that a different more detailed app might be even more helpful. But for a body builder, fitness novice or even instructor, iMuscle is perfect to work all the major muscle groups and keep a detailed log for yourself &/or your clients. The importance of proper body mechanics and posture cannot be over emphasized. So the detailed full motion of each and every exercise from start to finish is fantastic to have and to review whenever you need it. It's nice that you include the frequently forgotten stretching as well as strengthening for each muscle as well. For the price this app has a lot of depth to it. But I look even more forward to the detail that Muscle System Pro III will offer. Thanks, Tim P.T.

Useful for quick references. I really enjoy using this app when I’m working with someone and they mention a issue they’re having that wasn’t noted previously. I can use the model to quickly show them what muscle is effected so they have a better idea of why that issue exists and what muscle we will need to focus on. It helps them better understand how to perform an exercise for the desired effect and where they should be feeling the desired outcome, whether it’s stretching or strengthening, so they can more quickly decide if they are performing it correctly or incorrectly.

Excellent. I came upon this app 5 years ago and I LOVE it. Seeing the anatomy is very helpful but seeing what exercises stimulate what muscles is awesome, it even shows the smaller muscles involved in any exercise. Just LOVE it !

I love this app!. This app is great for weight training and stretching. It shows how to do a particular exercise and what exercises work which primary muscles and secondary muscles. You pick a muscle to exercise and this app shows you many different exercise that work that muscle. This app allows you to create your own workouts, which is really nice. Now I bring my iPad to the gym. Buy it, you won't be disappointed! Some improvements could be made: the x that closes a particular exercises should be bigger because it is sometimes hard to close an exercise. Some exercises don't have the option of no weight. Also exercises should have the option to do time instead of weight.

Can’t Even Create An Account to Download “at home” Exercises. I was so excited about this app. After paying $5 to get started with the app, I cannot create an account in the app. I created account on developers website, but it’s not recognized in the app. So, I cannot download any of the additional exercises, which makes the app nearly useless to me. I also cannot find a way to contact the developer.

Really helpful. A friend told me about this and it's really helped me overcome some issues I was having. Mostly related to sitting for long periods at work on the computer.

Almost Perfect!. I have never written a review for anything I've purchased before. That being said, this is clearly an app worth its salt to have drawn me out of the rafters. As a personal trainer, I find it helpful to have visualizations of exercises and an accompanying list of primary and secondary movers involved. The graphics are great: I love being able to delve through layers of muscle, click/highlight specific ones for more information, and have the ability to zoom in for a closer look. The only drawback I've found is the lack of information regarding each muscle's function. For example, we are provided excellent animations for serratus anterior exercises, but if you don't know how the muscle performs, you're limited to the exercises that are provided rather understanding its function and coming up with your own. This is what makes the anatomy portion of this app rather rudimentary. I purchased another one of their apps—Muscle System Pro III—to supplement the missing information, but the graphics and functionality are no where near the same and I honestly wish I'd saved my $9.99. Overall, I think this app is great for those who are new to the gym, those who are looking to grow their exercise library by muscle specificity, and those who want a basic understanding of movement with regards to anatomy. I just hope they add the information some of us professionals would appreciate in order to add to the complexity of the app. Great work though!

Awesome. I love this app, I haven't had any problems what so ever. Also I had it on my IPhone first & I was amazed by it. It's been my personal trainer in the gym. I recommend this to any body that is serious about getting fit. I have gained muscle in every way just by using this App. So it is worth every sent, (SO GO HARD)

Softball workouts. This app has helped me understand weight training and apply my softball training routines to not only track physical changes but improve my in game confidence. I am over 50 and have never been to a gym or fitness program, but this app makes me feel like I know what I'm doing. Love it. Thank you. PS. Great little helper. As a PT I find this app is great little helper in the gym. It allows me to quickly show clients how to do exercises and the muscles being used. It adds to the professionalism of my business.

Your personal trainer. The graphics and animations are great. Very professional. Only thing missing is the ability to peel away external layers of muscle to show show underlying muscle layers (eg piriformus muscle etc) & include relevant exercises/stretches

Awesome. You can't go past this app. It's so powerful in identifying target muscles for exercises. You can zoom around the body in 3D, pick the muscle you want, and view all the exercises and stretches to target that muscle. The exercise and stretches are shown in animation, making it even easier to learn. Excellent.

Great but not on par with Nova Series. This is a brilliant app in the level of detail and attention paid to everything they've done but it does have some quite marked short comings - mostly in comparison to the rest of the Nova Series. It's an app pitched more at the amateur than the trained. Yes, the price is much lower and the audience is different but most of the people who are trained I think will be a little disappointed after the bench mark of Muscle System, Skeletal System & the Joint Pro aps. i'd love to see & would definitely buy a "Pro" version if it added more functionality. Missing features: - being able to see active muscles that are below the outer layer, once you've had a good play, lots of the animations look exactly the same, even if the key muscles being used are on a deeper level. (ie hidden) - greater number of non weighted/ machine based exercises, this would be amazing for rehab if combined with basic exercises and option of resistance bands. - ability to progress excises Awesome beginning, can't wait to see where later versions take it.

All round great app!. I take my iPhone to the gym a couple of times a week and sync with my iPad when I want to get a better look at how I am progressing. I can see myself using this app well into the future. Developers were prompt to respond with a solution to a problem (even when in this case it was a user error lol). Outstanding staff; outstanding app!

The best. This app is great

It has everything. Of all my exercise apps this is the one I consistently use. It caters for all types of strength training from body weight to kettle bells. It is great also for targeting the muscles you really want to work on. I rate this app 100 out of 100.

Very good app. Very good app as it is very detailed but crashes frequently on ipad mini.

Excellent. I use this for my bodybuilding. Great for isolation training and for mixing my workouts up a bit ... The animation is great for learning a new movement, especially when my trainer is not on hand to assist me ... I always have IMuscle. When I'm sore the stretching tips help me figure out exactly how to ease the discomfort and tightness.

Awesome. Awesome illustration of body muscle structure. Can easily select a muscle group and find out what exercises hit that muscle group the best.

Detailed, authoritative, comprehensive. Very clear presentation of exercises. Great filtering capability, so you can target particular body areas or exercise types. Simply the best instructional fitness app out there, by a country mile.

Chiropractic students need this App. In my view as a Professor of Chiropractic, and with no conflict of interest, I can say this App is indispensable to chiropractic students. It is “alive” and engaging, so get out of the cadaver lab in into this App on your iPad

Educational. Fantastic fully-functional three-dimensional application! I learnt so much from it and applied it in my sports and exercise science course. Thank-you 3D4Medical for such great a great application and an enjoyable experience, particularly on the iPad!

Fantastic App!. I have a long term chronic injury and every rehab provider I see gives me exercises to do. I have inputted them all into this app, and now they can all see what I am already doing before they add new exercises. The app also helps keep track of when I do the exercise programs, and how long it takes me, as well as how many calories I burn! Fantastic! I showed it to my Physio and she was very impressed! Well worth $2.99 :-)

Great for users with joint damage. It's easy to find exercises on this app that help maintain muscle groups that tend to atrophy after joints have been diminished or destroyed by diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The muscle diagrams and exercise descriptions have helped me to understand why gently lifting dumbells will improve my hand dexterity.

Fantastic app. This app is fantastic for personal trainers and students for learning the muscle types and exercises.

An absolute must have. As a Remedial Soft Tissue specialist, this App by far, is the best App available for the price. It is amazing to show patients, in 3D rotation, exactly where their injuries are and, more importantly, all surrounding structures effected by injury. The animation of stretches and work outs to strengthen the affected muscles after treatment is brilliant. Well done Nova. 5 stars!

Excellent app and support. I have had this app for ages now. I think it is one of the best apps that I have come across and would recommend it to anyone. Fantastic!. Comprehensive, but easy to use. Adding and using your own workouts is fantastic. Great customising features. I love that you can do any workout with reps and rests between at your own pace. This is one of the best exercise apps I've downloaded and I'm loving it!

The best app EVER. This is by far the most useful app I have on my ipad. It is so flexible and contains so much information. Many times I have downloaded an exercise app that doesn't cut it but this one is full personalisable and contains so much information. ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE FOR ANY GYM JUNKIE.

Excellent. Worth the money. I needed some help with muscle specific exercises after a sports injury to my back. Best app I've found for training, not sure about the workouts and a bit too much info required to set up (I use notepad) but superb anyway.

Awsome. I love the detailed images for this app. I can see the specific muscles I need to work out rather than just trying to imagine them. It has helped me to develop a plan with my Physiotherapist and Trainer that will make me fitter and more flexible without injury.

I love it, but let me change date format. This is an incredible app. It is worth the money. The only annoying feature is that it does not permit a date format change for people that purchase this from outside the USA. Most other countries use alternative formats such as dd/mm/yy, and find the unusual USA date format quite confusing. The app permits change of units to the more common metric measure, kilograms, from the old and out-of-date imperial measure, pounds, so it makes sense to permit a date format change.

Crashes on startup.. Don't waste your money. If the developers can be bothered to test whether the application even starts, then save your cash for someone else.

Makes me want to workout more.. This is awesome, never written a review before but felt compelled to do it for this one. Great info on all exercises, can't wait to get to the gym to jazz up my old boring routine with these great examples.

PE Teachers will want this!. Awesome app, suitable for middle/upper high school students studying Physical Education. If you teach or study Anatomy, Physiology, Movement analysis, strength training etc this app will be fantastic you.

Not enough exercises. There is a lack of variety of exercises, in particular with dumbells.

Top Drawer App. Well thought out program that lets you highlight a muscle,find out what it does,how to strengthen it and most importantly, how to stretch it. As I don't have a lot of gear, the ability to add custom exercises also very useful. I work at a physical job and am a Weekend Warrior who occasionally sees a Massage Therapist. When she tells me a particular muscle is weak or out of balance with complementary muscles, I use iMuscle 2 to do my research and then add routines to my workout. Support for the App is very good. I had a problem deleting an exercise from my routine, emailed the developer and received a concise and thoughtful response within a couple of hours. Perfect App for those of us that want to work out at home with an informative and insightful aid. Very good value for the money. Erik

It's Good but.... I bought this app so I could have a better understanding of my muscles and how they work and are related. What I like is that it shows you what you need to work on to strengthen muscles. The app does a brilliant job of showing you exactly what you need to do to do the exercise. This is something i have trouble with so unless i see it there is no hope of me getting it. What is disappointing is that it doesn't cover the muscles used in your ankles (I have exercises I need to do to strengthen mine) and I was disappointed as this app completely ignores them. It is very good if you are looking to build muscle and work out but for someone dealing with a few musculoskeletal medical issues I found it disappointing. I had hoped to use it to help me understand what I would do to keep/improve my range of motion rather than build muscle in an gym environment. Since it was presented as an app that could be used by physiotherapists I assumed that it would cover things that I do with mine. Even though it forgot about our ankles it is still a great app and the degree of information is amazing. If they added ankles and wrists (they were forgotten too) I would rate it higher.

Great Program. I use it to compliment the physio exercises I've been given for my shoulder. Has also motivated me to get back to a routine. This keeps me on pace and working properly. Great value.

Almost good, but not yet. Very pretty App, but not very user friendly. Cannot edit workout after the fact. When I am in a workout and I want to edit reps or weight near the bottom of screen you can easily press the pins button instead which takes you back to the muscle group view. Not a big deal right, but your workout gets reset and have to re-enter the data over again. Another thing I would like is the ability to move exercises from one workout to another or from user to user. Has a lot of potential to be great but standing around messing with an app when I should be working out is not how it should be. So I will not be using this app until they fix it...

I muscle 2. This is the best application for weight training. I use the tone ups, bulk, strength and stretches. I have been into weight training for over 30 years and have a journal with exercises and pictures that is at least 60 pages. This app is an Excellent addition and love that it has every exercise with equipment and in animated figure. This app allows you to save exercises into favorite. There are no conplaints.

Blown away. I am totally blown away as a massage therapist who recommends muscle training this is truly phenomenal. I'm also a personal trainer, yoga and pilates instructor and this app definitely helps. I just wish I would state the different movements that a muscle is responsible for , like lateral rotation of the leg, internal wrist rotation etc. But hey how lazy should my brain get, right. Buy this it is wonderful with the real time movements, exercises and stretches for every muscle of the muscular system. I could watch this for hours. Thanks to the dev.

Awesome app, missing a few UX features. This app is great, there is no mistake about that. However, there are a few UI issues that I think would make this app event better. Here is my suggestions below 1. There should be a way to adjust the weight and rep counts for all reps in the exercise at once,as opposed for each individual rep. 2. There should be the ability to reorder the activity within the workout on the fly. Sometimes I find my self skipping the exercise because the machine might not be free at the gym. So my choices are either wait, or skip the exercise. A third choice that moves the exercise to a different spot in the workout would be great. 3. Apple watch support is a must! The heart rate should be taken automatically, after you are done with the exercise, and there should be a next exercise button on the watch as opposed to reaching out to the iPad

My Bowflex. I have a Bowflex Extreme Se 2. There is no way I can find, target and work my muscles without this app. It should be in the box with my machine and even without the Bowflex this app shows the exercise done with a machine, dumbbell's and it shows the video/illustration from start to finish. If you are working your biceps, it will show you a dozen ways to work that muscle and that is just one. This program targets every muscle in your body. Just buy this application it is worth every single penny. I don't exercise with out it and you will love it to!

My favorite App to date. This is one great App! I created my program, and took it to the gym with me for the first time, and love it! What keeps me from giving it 5 stars is, it doesn't have the ability to go to another exercise if you want to switch out of the order that you started with! The machine that I want to get on, may not be available, so if I choose not to wait, and try to move up another exercise, it throws you back at square one! Other than that, it's the best App yet in my book!

1 suggestion from longtime user. Used iMuscle original and iMuscle 2 for a longtime. Awesome app! My only complaint/suggestion would b to add more exercise equipment types, in particular suspension trainers. Bodyweight and dumbbell used to b the main type of exercises i used but for the past couple months i've only been using a homemade version of the TRX suspension trainer. It's really nice that u can add exercises to this app but when ur talking about adding a large amount of exercises all for one exercise equipment type it would b better if u guys just added them instead.

Excellent guidance. Love the ability to build workouts! Great illustrated and written instructions for someone who is familiar with most of the exercises. Love that it gives so many options on equipment, including none. Wish list would be cross ref exercises so it is easier to substitute, allow a non-favorites or Avoid list, allow substitutions in preset workouts.

Great way to get back on board!. Extremely informative and easy to use. After overtraining for decades, I was drifting to the opposite extreme. This app made it easy to compose and use an appropriately designed workout routine. The animations are so good and precise that watching them during a workout keeps me focused on the details as well as the big picture. Customer support via Lindsay is extremely helpful. Well worth the investment!

4.5 Almost Perfect. Great app on many levels, good preset workouts, lots of animations to check your form, and tons of options. The only drawback is keeping track of workouts is cumbersome. Having to tap between sets and rests get tedious. An alarm or tone to move to the next set or rest automatically, would be more convenient. Also, the majority of the exercises here are with gym equipment, so bear that in mind and don't forget to get some cardio in as well. Recommended app.

Almost Great. This is a really great combination of reference for muscle groups, anatomy, & suitable exercises. The workout feature & tracking is real nice excepting for editing individual exercises. It would be really nice if it retained settings from previous workouts. As is, the user must edit repetitions and weights every time if progress is made. The alternative seems to be to replace an exercise with the one with different settings for weight & repetitions. Ability to track & reference aerobic exercises would be a nice addition. This app makes me interested in their other apps.

Good, but buggy. I have created workouts, but every time the iPad goes to sleep (I.e. I set it down inbetween doing sets/exercises) when I pick it back up to mark the completion of that specific exercise it resets. I have to go back through every exercise and click completed whether its for a 2nd or 3rd set in the same exercise or if I have already completed an entire exercise and marked it as completed and moved onto a completely different exercise. This makes he app entirely unusable for purposes of tracking workouts as I am doing them. This app would be amazing if it worked a little better. It needs some refinement.

What if you're not a gym rat?. I was excited to get this app because I want to target specific muscles, and this app is great for illustrating the muscles and suggesting the right exercises for those muscles. But I was very disappointed to see that most of the exercises require some type of equipment, and most of the equipment is found at a gym. Wish more of the exercises had home-style equipment like resistance bands. I can figure out how to substitute bands for some of the equipment required, but not all. So if you don't spend your workout time at the gym or don't have your own home gym, you might want to consider a different app. Hope they blend in more non-gym exercises in future revs.

Most helpful. This app gives important information to help knowing what muscles and how they activate during a certain exercise routine. Many people exercise wrong and have mistaken information. This app helps in a very educative and illustrated way what muscles do with certain movements that can help you determine the correct exercise for the correct muscles. You cannot go wrong using this app.

Okay App. The overall features of this application is good. However, the sync options for iCloud is pretty much totally manual. Considering that I have this app on my iPhone, iPad and Mac this is not something I should have to work at. It should be a fully automatic process. The developer needs to do a better job seemlessly syncing. If that happens I will revise my review. Because of the syncing issues I cannot recommend this program highly for someone who uses more than one device.

Best out there... Needs two things. Best of any workout app yet. Lacking 2 items to be five stars. iCloud syncing isn't iCloud seamless, it's manual which takes too much effort to charge for separate versions on different devices. Second, workout flow needs to accommodate circuit training a bit better. Right now it's old school one exercise, multiple reps, rest in between. Not bad for building mass, but not so good for burning fat.

Stunning images and animations. Love all your apps but this one is ideal. I love the fully rotational 3D body and the way you can choose a muscle and then view the primary and secondary exercises and even stretches for that particular muscle is so useful. But the multi-user function is what makes this app indispensable for personal trainers like me. Terrific work.

Previous information is gone. There appears to be some nice improvements in the update. But the basic functions I have been using the app to track for the past year is now gone. I use the app to track the weight I am using for each exercise. Not only has that information disappeared with the update, but there is now no way to add it back. All of the weight fields have defaulted to a field named "no weight" which can't be edited! So there is no option but to start all over - creating all of my workouts and the exercises they contain from scratch! The weight level I was at for each exercise was very valuable to me. Unless you periodically want to start all over again, setting up all of your exercises and workouts (hours of work), I would stay away from this app.

Hard to read. I feel like the app was designed for a screen much larger than an iPad, because some checkboxes are quite small and the text in the middle pane, when selecting exercises for specific muscles, is hard to read because the font is so tiny. Also, when looking on the right pane list of exercises, it's hard to tell them apart because the exercise names are too long and run off (e.g. There are at least 10 iterations of Triceps - Push...) If these issues got fixed, I'd get a MUCH better experience out of the app when I know there is a lot of information hidden somewhere in all those long lists.

Impressive and complete!. I decided to purchase this app in hopes of improving my physical fitness routine, as well as to better understand a back injury I am healing from. It's AMAZING for both! The guides, views and exercises included are phenomenal. The 3D view is 2nd only to their other app (Muscle System Pro II), which includes cut-away views of the muscular/skeletal system. The ability to have different users means my wife benefits from this as well. I can't believe it is so cheap - grab this before the price goes up! It's easily worth 2-3 times what they are currently asking.

A+ Stretching Guide. I have wanted an app to help me do a thorough stretch of my body, while teaching me muscle anatomy. I am learning which muscles I have, their names, and how to properly stretch them. Great graphics and display. Creating a workout of all my stretches for a morning workout (stretch) is phenomenal. Very well conceived and executed. It would be great is all app developers has this kind of excellence and integrity.

Great for planning exercise routine. I have created a routine for working out at home. This app was great for helping target certain groups of muscles and for showing how the exercise is to be performed correctly. Much better than anything else I have seen. Progress tracking could be a little more robust but that isn't my main purpose for purchasing it. Overall, great product at a very reasonable price.

If your Pins don't appear..... I installed and tried this app. The pins did not appear. I went through the tutorial, messed with it for a good 20 minutes, and could not get them to show up. I was getting ready to leave a 3 star rating, then I thought about reinstalling. It worked! The pins show up on the muscles now, which gives this app an amazing flow of use. This is how apps need to be built. It has an incredible user interface and its content is unrivaled. Five star app easy.

Great app. This is exactly what I need in the gym - easy to use - amazing animations that make it absolutely clear how the exercise should be done. Being able to rotate a real 3D body is terrific and because you can have different usernames I can let my kids have their own mini workouts. Always a pleasure to see quality apps out there.

Quite good, needs a little work.. If I could just make one request, I wish we could see the second layer of muscles around the core area and also in the lower back. I have some lower back issues and would love to be able to see exercises and stretches for that area. But at the moment we can't see them, and thus can't search for exercises and stretches to use on them... Overall though, fantastic app! Great way to learn some anatomy while also fine tuning your workout! I'd recommend it to anyone who has an iPad, cares about exercise and stretching, and has 2 dollars... ;-). Add the second layer and I'll come back and give it 5 stars...

Great App to Pinpoint Muscles. I've got a home gym and am not a beginner, but far, far from an expert muscle builder. This app not only shows me how to do the exercise correctly, I no longer have to guess which muscle groups are being worked. I have an iPad next to me and can actually watch the example and get my form correct. I basically do what the example does so form and speed are correct. I think the app would be greatly improved if it had a full body picture with pins showing your personal workout plan.

Nice App, beautiful detail.. I don’t use the entire depth of this app, I’ve set up 8 workouts that I rotate through every 4 weeks. A connection with Calendar App would be handy and a spot for notes on each work out. It also seems to eat up more battery than just streaming HD TV. Still, it’s not killing the battery enough to stop you from finishing any workout. I suspect you could go 4+ hours if you were a mad man. The thing is, I actually use this app and it helps me with my form and progress tracking. I highly recommend it.

Closes when I try to view certain workouts.. This app is amazing. It is definitely worth five dollars. The only problem I have with it is that it closes the app every time I try to view a workout that includes arm/shoulder exercises. It doesn't happen with any other workouts. I really would like to give it 5 stars, but this major bug makes me only give it 4. If this is fixed, then I will change the rating to 5 stars.

Great App!. This is probably the best app I've seen for developing and tracking workouts. I use this for all my workout routine variations. It has almost every major exercise routine for strength building. It would be nice to see a few more variations of some of the exercises but overall it covers everything I need. An additional cardio component would be nice. I've contacted the developer with questions and they have been very helpful and responsive. Get this one!

Amazing Apps. A friend had back surgery several years ago and has had really bad pain and muscle spasms ever since. She spends most days in and out of physical therapy sessions, and the rest of the day stretching and searching the Internet for answers. I have now purchased most of the 3D4Medical apps, and she now has instant access to the best tools available. These apps have helped her so much more than all of the physical therapy (thousands of $) Thank you 3D4Medical for these amazing tools

Great, wish had more exercises. This is a great app for anyone who is looking to improve their muscle knowledge as well as workout knowledge. Wish 3d model could pan and zoom more easily without having to click on the menu buttons at top left. Wish there were more exercises as well as more specific details explaining the individual exercises more thoroughly. All in all great app for $5, but I'm sure the $40 is much more detailed.

A top-of-the-line training tool. 3D4medical has created a fantastic training aid with iMuscle. iMuscle boasts an impressive index of exercises and stretches which have been conveniently linked to their affected muscles for easy reference. The added ability to create workouts and track your progress elevates this app to a leading position in the health and fitness genre. As a fitness trainer, I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to either expand on their current exercise program, to those who are developing a brand new program, or for the sake of getting some fresh ideas.

Good but no historic tracking. Good app. A lot of exercises, and the automations of each exercise make it easy to find the specific exercise you want. Very pretty app. However, it isn't good for tracking your workouts unless you use the app to log at the gym or immediately after...you can't even wait a day. There is no way through the app to set the date of the workout when logging. It always assumes today, and you can't change it. This one function makes this app difficult to use for me. If they fixed that, it could compete with Fitness Buddy and GymGoal. Without it its nothing more than a reference tool.

Great tool for fitness professionals. I love how I can illustrate an exercise and select a body part just by pointing. This is so handy. As a personal trainer I can help out casual gym users when they have quick questions about what to do, as well as thoroughly program in some of my hourly clients as I build their fitness programs.

Absolutely fantastic app for troubleshooting & learning. Used to look up a number of muscles and corrective exercises & stretches for them. This was both fast and easy. The ability to add stretches and exercises to workout plans was a nice unexpected bonus. Even lets me customize each set. Bottom line: easily worth the cash. Useful if you have tight muscles you're looking to stretch or exercise and are looking to drill down to target something besides the easy major ones.

Good App, needs a few touch ups. This app is incredible in how it lets you develop a workout routine that targets the muscle groups you want to focus on. 3D moving illustration on how to do each is also a great help. Main things that this app could use: Ability to edit a daily workout without changing the whole thing permanently. Such as the ability to add or remove sets just for a day. Also an option that lets you skip a set or entire workout without rearranging/deleting sections. A few preloaded recommended sets would be great too. Also the ability to filter out workouts based on equipment used. Since I only have dumbells it would be nice if I could hide workouts requiring barbells, cables, or machines. Still a great app overall though!

Finally somebody gets it right!. I have tried several apps all of which the dev's have put a lot of thought and time I'm sure. But this is the only one that lets you quickly (and I infacise on Quickly!) create your routine and get to what's important, training and logging your workouts. The animations are great for viewing new exercises, but not at all in the way. Other apps I've used put a great deal in graphics, or fill them up with exercises and routines I'll never use, or worse yet constantly try to up sell you on some hokie crap. And try to quickly log them in? Not so much.... I have only used this app a short while, but definitely see I will be using it for years to come I'm sure. If I only had one suggestion, it would be the addition of a timer, they've got the rest right! Thanks so much....

Amazing tool for all Fitness Levels. I have been working out for over 20 years and have tried just about every website tool and software application designed to structure workouts, promote proper form, and help prevent injury. Fantastic fitness app for kinesiology nerds. I've just started using this app as my own workout "study guide", and I love it! Animations of each exercise are very well-done, and the library of exercises is immense. Really great collection of workouts you can do at home, as well. You get to learn about which muscles you're using in each exercise, and even track your progress! Would definitely recommend. (:

Terrible exercise routine setup. While the images and exercise animations are superb setting up an exercise routine is horrible and painful to use. No ability to edit and save the edits to an exercise once it is in a routine, other than change its order, i.e number of reps and weights. You have to remove the exercise and re-add it The spinner selection dials for adding number of reps/weights close if you let go of them before you get to the desired value. You need to do this 3 -4 times before you get to the desired weight The default weights are pounds and as this app is available around the world you should be able to set the default to Kg's No ability to do a free text search for muscles or exercises. If you do not know the exact name they have used for the exercise or muscle it can be impossible to find without searching through the entire list. Adding the exercise routine function seems like it was an afterthought and was tacked on at the last minute. Buy for the image quality and animations but not for setting up or monitoring a weight training program.

Extremely time consuming. As other reviewers have said, it does not save your settings from workout to workout so you must input your weight and reps every time. Additionally the scroll wheel to set the weight is very difficult to use. My other major issue is that if you want to do a circuit style workout it takes a LONG time to set it up. All in all, this is the first app that I spent money on that I was really disappointed in.

iMuscle 2. Excellent App for the beginner providing exercise execution animation while highlighting working muscles. Beginners can extrapolate from numerous exercises building their own program that provides calories burned. It also helps provide an estimated body fat in accordance to body data incorporated. For the intermediate/advanced, the App can be problematic. It does not allow one to develop 'folders' for various workout plans that includes daily workout routines. For example, Hypertrophy six day workout plan. It is for that reason I rated the App 3-stars. The App has tremendous potential, I hope the developers can expand the App for us advanced workout fiends.

Very Helpful!. Great app to help me plan workouts for my clients. I also love the variety of stretches it has. But, I think the best part for me is when I'm trying to explain to my client that an exercise or stretch will help a particular muscle, The other day it was the psoas, which is hard to explain verbally, I grabbed my phone, opened iMuscle and showed her this important muscle and some stretches. So helpful!

Noobs like me need it. I just started working out and learning about different exercises. Of course, I hired a personal trainer to help me start off. Having this app is a great supplement for my workouts. It teaches you what muscles each exercise affects. You probably wouldn't go to gym with an iPad. But it's perfect once you worked out and stating at home to search for different workouts. Later you can synch your exercises to iPhone.

Awesome app!. nice app. i am able to see different workouts that focus on each muscle group. would like to be able to edit the workouts and be able to change the amount of sets and weights in each exercise without having to delete and re-add. i lose all my previous performance data when i delete an exercise from a workout. other than that this is a great app!

Fit and happy. Overall this is a great app. There are hundreds of exercises, maybe even thousands to chose for to work every muscle imaginable. The only draw back is that a lot of the exercises use gym equipment. All sorts of different benches, weights , pull-up bars, cables. So if you don't have access to a gym or have your own equipment this app may not be as helpful . It is still very effective and although I don't have gym access or my own equipment I am still benefitting!!!

Great for Workouts!. This app is fantastic for seeing which exercises and stretches are best for muscles. I can't tell you how many times I went to this app when I had muscle tightness and I was looking for the appropriate stretch. Whichever you muscle you click on, you are bound to the find dozens of stretches & exercises. Also, the ability to zoom-in close to see where the muscles are is invaluable.

Great app. This application is amazing, extremely helpful when engaging with clients. The only feedback that I have is when I try to click on the Show Workout report it is crashing. I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue. I tried to reload it and it is continuing to do the same thing. Like I said earlier though, the interface capabilities is unmatched. I am just hoping this is a small glitch.

Amazing!. This app just keeps getting better and better. Words cannot describe the amount of detail and precision that has been put into this app. Pinpointing any muscle group with the 3d view is amazing, backing up to the cloud so that I can sync my iPhone with my iPad is exactly what I needed. So many workouts that I do not even know where to start! This is one of the only developers that listen and quickly respond to their users emails. This is a top shelf iOS app and their was a reason it was featured in apples keynote. Amazing

Excellent. Best app out there for targeting each muscle. I want to give it 5 stars and say it's perfect but don't want to take away from any improvements that may be coming down the pipeline. I have been using it for months now and even before the last 2 updates it was excellent. So keep doing what y'all been doing and waiting with baited breath for future updates. I just wanna say thanks for this app, it has boosted My motivation and kept it up. 😁

21st Century School. This application is fantastic to operate as a tool within small lesson plans in our Health and Physical Education facilities. The content is delivered visually in a 3D presentation while I explain the operations of the muscle. From here we can take the students to the gymnasium and they can apply what they retained to the fitness equipment. I will be using this application for the remainder of the year via ipad to projector connection and we will review whether it will be used continuously the following school year! Thanks!
