Love this app.... Update, January 7: When I get it. Unfortunately, the iPad edition is available at least a week after the print edition has arrived in the mail. What's the point? Currently I have the February issue in my hands, yet it is still not available for download. Why? -------------------------- When it works. For the past 2-3 days it crashes upon opening. Very frustrating. Seems to happen every time a new issue hits the stands. Update: read in an earlier post that customer was able to access in Airplane Mode. Tried it out and the app didn't crash. Of course, I received a message that it couldn't download the new issue. Turned AM off and downloaded September. Apparently it works; but this is clearly a bug they need to fix.

Excellent!. I have been a loyal subscriber since the first issue in the 1980's. I LOVE the iPad App. It's got a few quirks, but they are minor. Overall, the navigation is easy, the extras are fun, and I love the access to back issues. I'm sure the kinks will get worked out. BTW, I still subscribe to the print version and pass on the print issues to my 75 year old mother. I prefer reading on my iPad. I love the brilliance of the photography, the user friendly interface and the fact that I will no longer accumulate stacks and stacks of issues that I can't bear to part with!! Thank you VF!!!

need more back issues!. Sharing others' complaints about print subscribers having difficulty registering - I was finally able to activate my account for iPad access! However, once I was able to log-in I found my enthusiasm dampened by the incredibly limited archive of issues they have available to re-download - about 3 issues - now I am agonizing over all the past digital issues I missed while I was waiting for VF to square away their subscription log-in nightmare. Please add more archived issues so I can go back and read them like you can with Time on the iPad!

Excellent content, easy to use, great digital extras. When other publications survey me, I point to Conde Nast as the exemplar of magazine or newspaper web applications. Once in a while the application balks at sign-in, asking for credentials I have forgotten, and forcing me to choose a new and different password, which of course I am certain to forget as it is unfamiliar. But I have reconciled myself to this painful process, as the reward is so great once I pass through the secret door.

Love VF, HATE Conde Nast. It's almost insulting to charge $4.99 for a single magazine. I've kept my mouth shut, thinking that eventually, with all the poor reviews, at least one person who developed this app would realize that current print subscribers and casual readers should not have to pay such a steep premium for what is essentially the exact same content. There was a spark of hope when they finally brought subscription services and free digital versions to current subscribers to The New Yorker, but that was snuffed out by the lack of similar updates to every other mag. I read GQ, VF, and The New Yorker, a current subscriber to each their print versions. To continue such robbery is plainly unfair to all.

Works for me.... All these 1 star reviews prompted me to chime in. I am a print subscriber, and since they added iPad access several months ago the app has worked as intended for me. You have to create an online Conde Nast account and associate it with your subscriber number, but after that it has worked fine. There was a delay of several hours between the time I created my online account and when the app recognized it, and I'm that time I contacted Conde Nast tech support, and I have to agree they are pretty worthless. Some features I would like to see added across all Newsstand apps: 1. Clippings: A unified place you can save your favorite articles. 2. Background downloading: Touted as a feature in Newstand, but it's not working for anyone. You have to stay in the app to have an issue download, which ties up your iPad for 15-20 minutes. This basic functionality should have been implemented from day one. Both of these issues are not limited to Vanity Fair or even Conde Nast but rather apply to all Newstand apps.

Great content, bad app. They can do better than this. There is no way to increase the font so you need to enlarge and scroll side to side to read. I assume most who read this magazine are over the age of 50 most will need a better reading experience.

Better late than never?. I'm a VF subscriber, so it made a lot of sense to get the iPad edition about a year ago. It has a lot of extras and it's a gorgeous format. And they've fixed a lot of the crashing issues, and loading each edition is now automated, which was a big, huge improvement. So I haven't written a review because this was just one extra way of reading the magazine and my expectations were not high. But today I went to a news stand and saw Julia Roberts staring out from the April edition. She has not yet arrived on my iPad. Maybe I've just never noticed this or maybe this month is different, but I feel a little cheated. Why isn't the digital version available the day the paper version hits the stands?

App and issues installed. My husband and I had just been discussing magazine apps and I decided to check again for VF. So glad I did. Installed the app and then followed the directions as a subscriber. Needed to sign back in at the upper left corner of page and then it showed May and June issues as purchased. I was then able to download and have them ready to view. I guess I need to know what will happen with future print copies. Will they stop? Will VF Notify me through the app when it's time to renew my subscription?

Horrific. I’m beginning to really dislike Vanity Fair. This is an absolute waste of time. I’ve been back and forth with vanity fair trying to log into the app so I can use the subscription I paid for. They keep sending me passwords that do not work and I am unable to read the magazine on the app. I very much regret making the choice to rejoin Vanity Fair.

No Landscape Mode. I read all my newspapers and magazines on my IPad Pro while it is in its keyboard case. Vanity Fair is the only one that does not support landscape mode. This is very disappointing, please fix it.

Love the Mag and the App. I don't know what trouble the other reviewers are having but mine has more or less worked well. On rare occasions the app will crash but I don't know if it's there fault or that I have too many apps open or doing things too quickly. I did have trouble with other magazine apps, namely Bloomburg Businessweek whereby I had to uninstall the app and reinstall after the latest update to Newstand version. In past updates where things didn't work I just reinstalled and that usually solves everything. Keep up the great articles and interactive content and I'll keep subscribing.

Digital subscription Worthless. I’ve been a digital only subscriber for a number of years. This month, my app didn’t auto-renew and I was advised by VF to re-subscribe. Now I learn the the digital app is not available to digital only subscribers, it’s only for paper & digital. Really!!!!! After 3 email exchanges & 3 phone calls, I was told I can only access content on the web site. Which means no offline reading. Plus not formatted for an optimal digital experience. In addition, I keep having to get activation codes each time I sign in. I plan to cancel if I can’t get this resolved.

An amazing digital magazine. Not just essentially a photo or pdf of each magazine page. It’s optimized for how you read on a tablet (scrolling each article) while left and right swipes move you from article to article. Links within each issue jump to other relevant sections of the issue or additional info and updates online. You can get a digital-only subscription for 15 dollars for the first year that gives you access to the tablet and website content. This is a well thought-out publication. Also VF has amazing articles across all topics.

Bad, bad, bad. This app is so bad that it makes one wonder why they released it??? If you are a subscriber and you download the app for free ipad access to your subscription, all you get is an opportunity to buy the issues available. Even after following the instructions and reentering the required information. After contacting them five times, the final answer on June 21st was "Dear Subscriber: Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you have experienced. We have identified this bug and are rapidly working to resolve it. In other words they know that is is unable to identify subscribers but still haven't resolved the issue. Looks like the rush to get on the ipad was more important than guaranteeing a friendly user experience...

'Reformat' of prior review. Thank you, thank you, thank you, VF, for returning the app to the original format. My one-star review (below) is now a five-star review. Annie Leibovitz's photos are gorgeous again! ------------------ I was so sad to discover that the update to this app took away the gorgeous full-screen clarity that I loved so much. I used to show off my iPad Pro by pulling up a Vanity Fair digital cover to ooh and ahh over (and sold a couple subscriptions to the magazine in the process). No more. I lost all my downloaded magazines, and the new downloads are fuzzy and cropped. Truly the worst upgrade to an app I've ever experienced. What a shame for such a great mag. I hope this isn't indicative of financial problems at VF!

Horrible formatting. They’ve wedged a magazine into an app with no improvements to account for digital formatting.

Customer service NONEXISTENT. After paying for a full years subscription I looked at the first issue and then was unable to access any further editions. After three attempts at contact with their "customer service" and no resolution I was forced to contact Apple who worked diligently to try and rectify the situation but was unable to do anything but refund my money. In future I won't worry about global warming, killing trees necessarily and all that jazz and I will buy my stuff at the news stand the old fashioned way. As for this app and anything Conde Nast related I wont bother. Frustrated and Disappointed No stars but you can't submit with out at least one, so one star for Irritation, Frustration and Disappointment

Frustration. VF has created a beautiful interface for reading the magazine and it delivers a user experience that can be more enjoyable than reading the hard copy. So it's really unfortunate that they can't make it work. I've now downloaded it twice and both times it simply crashed after using it a few times. The first time I used it for 5 or 6 issues (at around $5 a pop), and lost them all when the first download stopped working. This time, I was only able to download 2 issues before the app crashed, and what's truly annoying is that this time it died after I was able to read only one or two articles from the September issue. Of course there's no obvious place to obtain a refund or any sort of tech support. So I'll just go back to picking up the occasional copy from the newsstand.

The best magazine app. Once you input the info on the left and your login and pasword, you then go to the top left of the screen to sign in, and you're set. That part is the only confusing part. This magazine is the best of dozens that I subscribe to. First, the graphics are fabulous, and they go beyond what other magazines offer by letting you use your 'paper' subscription to access the iPad version at no charge. Their interactive graphics are superior to others, and the July magazine has a review of 'Bon Iver' with a full sample song from his album released 6/21. Great job, Conde Nast. Now, do this to your other magazines!!

Love the Design & Layout, but.... I tried to subscribe & even though there is a banner ad at the top that says "click below" to subscribe there is no place to click below. I erroneously thought that clicking on the issue would give me the option to subscribe, but instead it it just automatically purchased that issue at the $4.99 price, when what I wanted to do was subscribe monthly at the $1.99 price. I wasn't ever given that option! I've looked everywhere & cannot find a place to subscribe or edit my subscription settings! Can somebody please advise?

Message from Vanity Fair: Bug for Print Subscribers Found and Fixed. Hi everyone, Michael Hogan from Vanity Fair here. We have fixed the download and registration issues print subscribers were experiencing. If you were able to register but not get the June issue, it is now available for you to download within the app. If you were unable to register you print account, please go back into the and try registering again by tapping the red button for “current magazine subscribers” at the top of the app. Thanks for your feedback and your patience.

Subscribed but can’t open anything. This VF is a scam. I purchased subscription but have to pay for each magazine? I paid for the yearly subscription so why do I have to keep paying? Don’t fall for this…I feel I’ve been scammed.

Glad to see the old format. Sometimes things are best left alone. Thanks for going back! I'm glad I didn't take my iPad with me on my trip. While it would have been nice to read VF on the plane, I would have been frustrated by the revised app. So I only recently saw the new version of the app. Instantly hated it. I couldn't remember which issue I was reading. Tapping on a section at a time was ridiculous. The download speed was slow. It takes some time to download the entire magazine, but the revised app was not an improvement. That was my very brief experience with the revised app.

Who's reading this magazine on their iPad? Not the folks who updated this app. This "upgrade" of the magazine app is a travesty for readers. Obviously not designed by someone who reads the actual magazine. Cropping the pages to partial page size, taking away the keeping of your place while mid-read of an article or edition are just a few of the ridiculous "upgrades". I can't always finish an article, now I have to remember which months edition I'm on and then search for the article and then finally find my page. Seriously??? Bring back the previous version of this app. You are making me completely regret my "paperless" subscription to this magazine that I've loved for 30 years.

Try this. After upgrading to iOS 5, the app would go to the red opening screen, hover for a while, then crash. So I deleted the app, then redownloaded it from the Purchased apps section of the Apps Store, and, alas, all is well. Better then well. The issues download in a couple of minutes each -- they are large files, after all -- and they are a pleasure to navigate. Plus, I like the extras, such as book excerpts and videos. Hope this helps for those of you having problems.

Still love it and hope to see a few new features shortly.... I have been a big fan of this app. Over the years my annual apple subscription of VF moved from my iPad2, to iPhone 6 Plus, and now to iPhone 7 Plus. However, it is time for VF to address basic limitations in the app, if they want to keep their loyal customers. I would start with dynamic font size (why not take advantage of such a great option offered by IOS TODAY???). Book marks and landscape are long overdue futures, but the font size is an embarrassment by the end of 2016...

June issue - after 24 hours became available. UPDATE: great great app. I now find myself reading every single article and can't wait for the next one to come online. I am even thinking of subscribing to more Conde Nast magazines because of the well designed layout. Well done, VF. --- I finally was able to log with my print account info ( you need to have the information EXACTLY as it is on your address sticker) but when I log in I am only given access to the May edition, and not the June edition which I already have received the printed version. What's up with that? UPDATE: Access to June came through yesterday afternoon. I love it but am not giving it 5 stars for I got an email (finally) from customer service. But it was wrong saying I hadn't registered properly. I suggest a little work on the support end or test your product before release. And monitor your FB page. Including digital with print is awesome and even the "just digital" subscription is now within the $$ range I always thought it should be. Will go ahead and subscribe to a couple more of their magazines.

Does Not Work--Not Even A Little Bit. This app does not work. I've downloaded it, registered, blah, blah, blah, and it will not let me in. I get "authentication failure" each time. Maybe I forgot my password? Hitting that button gets me a message about not trusting my server. I tried deleting the app and signing up again. It just tells me that my email address is already registered. And around and around we go. I sent them an email to try to figure out what was going on, and I got a form email with FAQ's that they hoped would address my questions. They didn't even come close. They said to reply back if they did not, so I did. They sent the same form email back. I give up.

Where's Zoom for text?. I enjoy reading hard copy (cover to cover) but find it advantageous to also use my iPad when I don't want to wear reading glasses since I was able to maximize text, so am very disappointed that feature disappeared as of August issue. I also miss the lack of pagination. It was helpful to me to track where I left off since there's no bookmark function. And when I am traveling or in a waiting room, I could select which articles I had time to read based on page length. Sure hope that more digital options and improvements are coming.

This warrants 2 reviews. NOBODY LIKES THIS FORMAT! Listen to your readers. NO-one reads on an iPhone. Swallow your pride, put your tail between your legs and get your format and readership back. It'll only hurt for a sec and you can put it past you. Considered it a FAILED experiment. (I'll keep cutting down trees and keep the physical issue thank you very much). If that goes, so does my subscription. It was good while it lasted. Reading VF is (was) an experience. Now it's just a rag and a drag. VERY Disgruntled in LA U.G.H.

ver 5 update is horrible. Having the previous version 2.0.44 for so long and being a solid app that worked well on my iPad Pro 9.7, this ver 5 is horrid. First, it won't let me download any issues, keeps telling me "No Interner Connection" which is not true, as it lets me login to authenticate my subscription status. Plus, every other app connects to the internet without issue, even after 2 restsarts and testing on both wifi and LTE. All of my downloaded Vanity Fair issues were deleted with the update. The layout and UI is useless. Good thing I had a backup of the ver 2.0 of the app. I installed that and am back and happy reading VF issues again. Revert to the previous version.

Doesn’t work with iPad Mini 3. I love the magazine and really enjoyed reading the digital version on my old iPad 3. I recently got a new iPad Mini 3 to use on my daily commute. But for some reason I cannot sign into my account on the Mini. I keep getting an error message (“authentication error”). I can sign into my account on my old iPad without any problems and have tried multiple times to get help from Vanity Fair’s support team with the problem with the Mini. But nothing seems to work. Since I can sign into my account on their web site and my old iPad, the problem seems to be a bug specific to the iPad Mini. If you have a Mini don’t bother with this app. It won’t work.

Good app, frustrated though. Like the previous guy, I'm wondering why the digital edition isn't out yet when I can see it on news stands. Unlike the guy below me, I'm locked into a subscription. Friends have emailed me articles from the vanity fair website that are part of the upcoming issue. They've put the articles up there before subscribers have received the digital version? This is a great way to show your customers what a complete ripoff your magazine is. Despite the frustrations, I do have to say that the magazine is a fantastic read on the ipad, great writers, a bit too trendy, and make sure you have a few hundred Meg's of memory lying around, these issues are large.

Run, don't walk. Whoever is running Conde Nast's digital subscriptions department should be fired.

Great app, great writing. Love the magazine, so that's a start. Vertical reading is great. Some articles are pages, others scroll like a web page. Slick app. Well-designed. Doesn't crash in my 5 issue experience. Suggestions: add ability to email/share articles on article pages (maybe an icon next to the page map) - it would drive more web traffic from non-subscribers and it saves me having to go to the web site. Also, compress a bit more - takes a long time to download mag. Don't know anything about the app store, so maybe not possible. I am a print subscriber and get all issues seamlessly once I got the email and print label # connected. Not sure what others are taking about - works perfectly and you only pay for the print subscription.

Great app!. Although I'm having problems opening the app (for 2 days), it's still an awesome app. I was able to download all issues w/o problems. Even the ones I had subscribed to over a year ago. If you are having problems, just contact VF on their website. They are very responsive. I'll post a different review if I don't get my problem fixed. When I first started to get the I-Pad version, I deleted the app and then loaded the new one.

Afraid to update..... After my horrible experience with the ‘new and improved’ version of the New Yorker app, my heart sank when I saw the same pitch for the new Vanity Fair app. I assume Condé Nast is moving multiple magazines to this new platform, which, from what I’ve seen so far, is not ‘ready for prime time’. I decided not to install the update and risk losing all my downloaded issues, and likely much of the content that is key to enjoying the magazine. Then I found that I can’t get the current issue in the old app. What to do? For now, I’m keeping the old app so I don’t lose everything, and using my library app RBDigital or Kindle to view newer issues. Hopefully, that will allow time for them to get the bugs out of the new app and figure out how to migrate user content without having to start over.

Terrible. The latest version of the app is terrible. If I'm out of the app for more than an hour, I lose my place and am taken back to the cover page when I reopen the app. And, unlike prior versions, I can't easily scroll through the magazine to find where I left off. The whole interface isn't particularly user-friendly, either. Based on the number of negative reviews, can VF please do something already?!

How About Some Respect for Subscribers?. One of the reasons I bought my iPad was so that I could eventually cut down on the amount of paper I consumed, particularly for magazines that I read once and then discard. I've got to admit that Vanity Fair is one of those. So imagine my disappointment to find that even though I already am a Vanity Fair subscriber, I would have to pay extra to read an issue on my iPad. Time magazine doesn't make me do that. I can download every issue to my iPad. All I had to do was set up an account and enter my current subscription information. But not Vanity Fair. To read that on my iPad, I would have to buy each issue, at $4.99. I don't think so. Come on Conde Nast. How about some respect for your subscribers. I already paid you once. Now give me the option of how I consume your product. Eventually, I might decide to convert to a digital-only subscription and do away with all that paper. If enough subscribers did that, imagine the impact on your bottom line. No more printing costs. No more mailing costs. The free preview content looked great. I could easily become a convert to a digital edition on my iPad. But I'm not going to pay your twice.

No landscape view. There's no landscape view on the new version of the app. Many paying customers (subscribers) have written with the same complaint and requesting a fix but VF has ignored the comments -- other than being just plain rude, lack of customer service is definitely cause to cancel subscription. I used to devour VF's new editions cover to cover when I was able to read in horizontal view and I loved eagerly awaiting the next edition. Now, I get more and more frustrated as I turn the page, quickly reach my boiling point of annoyance, and have to close the mag. Now that I'm behind on reading the editions, might as well cancel the subscription, stop paying for frustration and blatant lack of customer service, and just borrow the copy from others. Major FAIL by VF.

Won’t recognize my subscription. I purchased the digital subscription online. I received a welcome email. I cannot download any of the monthly magazines without a charge. I’ve contacted customer service three times and all they do is send me the same regurgitated FAQ’s that I’ve already gone through. They even told me one time they could see that I had a subscription. I showed them the receipt and order number. I received my free tote bag in the mail today and still cannot download any editions of the magazine in their apps. I didn’t sign up just to read articles on your website like its 2008. They don’t seem to care one way or they other. It’s been really frustrating. Don’t bother with this magazine.

Wow is this app bad. This is possibly the worst app I’ve ever had to endure. It cannot remember my subscription, you cannot reset your password, and it constantly glitches on downloads. I can’t tell you if the content is any good. I have yet to read a full article. Don’t waste your time!

No Landscape Option. That is a deal breaker, so I deleted the app without even looking further. Every other magazine app seems to be able to handle a rotating landscape option, so I urge Vanity Fair to seriously reconsider the employment of their app design team.

Great App!. I started off just downloading one issue, but I enjoyed it so much I bought the subscription! It notifies me when there are new issues, navigation is easy, and there are interactive videos and audio files on some articles! My favorite part is that I'm not stuck with a big pile of to-be-recycled paper when I'm done. I can archive issues to make space and redownload if I want them later, I can screenshot articles or images I want to keep long-term - I love it! It's not the cheapest thing, but if you were gonna buy the print version anyway, you should give this version a try :)

lousy app, does not work!!!!!!!!!. what a waste of time. 4 hr! just wished I had read the comments above. I get a message "server is busy try again in a few min". 47 times later and the next day the same message. change of mind, VF support has been brilliant! and now this app is sorted and works seamlessly. Please reset your app using the steps below. 1. From the iPad home screen, tap twice on the home button and the apps that are running on your device will appear along the bottom row. 2. Hold down the icons until the "shake." 3. Tap on the red circle to reset your application. This does not delete the app. 4. Double tap the home button again to return to all of your apps. 5. Open the app and allow for your library to update. Please be sure you have successfully signed into the app and all of your issues should now be available for download. Please let us know if you still experience technical difficulties.

Error Message Central. I am so frustrated with this app. I already have a subscription, yet I cannot create a log-in. It seems that no matter what I click, I get error message -1004 (cannot connect to server) or url error, or something else. I already contacted Customer Service, and was assured this bug was fixed. I uninstalled, reinstalled...and SAME message. As an extra added bonus, do not bother writing a whole comment when contacting Customer Service. They don't read it. You get an auto-response e-mail with FAQ, and a request to hit the reply button, re-writing your inquiry. Not only does this cause you to waste time writing your problem out twice, it presupposes that their subscribers are idiots who cannot read English or have never seen a FAQ! Not to mention the warm, fuzzy feeling you get from hearing that your concerns are important to them...they just don't want to waste their time addressing them unless you really, Really mean it. Yikes!!!

Best Magazine app evarrr!. This should quickly become the gold standard of magazine apps! They have thought of everything. The table of contents is fantastic. I love that they give you approximate reading times, so you know what you can squeeze in while you're on the go. I read Vanity Fair more on my iPhone now than I do on my iPad or the print copy. It's quick, easy and convenient. I wish I could give it more stars! (Now, I'm going back to reading my Vanity Fair on my iPhone.)

Favorite Ap. I love this ap. Felt I had to write to counter some of the low reviews that are about the subscription issues if you like the mag you will love the ap!! Tons of interactive ap only extra features, you can pass through the ads with a flick of your finger, and it is intuituvely easy to use. There are quick links to other similar articles when you like one you can read other archived content-free! My only complaint-you can't see your battery life when you are in the ap. I still did not reduce a star though cause the only reason that is a complaint is because I spend hours at a time in this fabulous ap.

Condé Nasty! They have literally stolen money from me!. STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. IT STEALS FROM YOU! All of my previously purchased issues have disappeared and are not available for download. I paid something like $4.99 per issue and it was several issues. I've lost, or rather, had stolen from me at least $40. I would like to have these purchases restored but when I go to the gear icon in the app and select "restore all purchases" nothing happens. This is unacceptable. If I purchased the issues in paper they would still be with me (albeit taking up a lot of space) but there's no benefit to digital issues if you only get to "rent" the issue for an undetermined amount of time! STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. IT STEALS FROM YOU!

Attention Newbies: All feature-rich magazines take time to download.. I expect that many of the reviews come from people who are new to iPad publishing. Generally, unless the publication is largely text only, and light on photography, video and audio (like The Economist), the file is going to take a while to download. The wait is usually worth it if you desire an interactive experience.

Can't get new issue app won't load.. The app worked initially but have been unable to access latest issue as app crashes everytime I try to open it. Please. Fix. This. Also your customer service feedback form needs work as it requests information for which there is no field and probably will continue to be a problem for Canadian subscribers. Please fix this also.

Worst app ever. Logs in successfully but mentions and under existing subscription shows success but doesn’t load any issues and asks me to pay again! Can’t they pay 2 developers to develop an app for them that actually works!!

Not working as well as it used to. Haven’t looked at my VF subscription for a few months. When I opened I got a window talking about navigating. Nothing seemed all that different - swipe to move to next article; maybe rearranged content index. On reading though it seemed really slow to load; crashed out once; generally not as responsive.

Display. Your content is not covering the whole screen on my iPhone 10 as of yesterday May 2/18. I have contacted Apple and was told there is nothing wrong with my phone. Please advise if there is a problem with your app and what can be done to fix the problem. Thank you.

App doesn’t work. I subscribed but the app still wants me to pay for issues. Customer service will not respond. Careful before you subscribe

Master Fail = Vanity Fair Digital Subscription. I have subscribed generally more often than not over the years, opting for digital access. Unfortunately, this subscription services FAILS again & again, if not for most, at least definitely for Canadian subscribers. Despite paying for digital subscriptions here and there over the last 5 years, you reject my CORRECT name & address to log in, as well as the account number issued by you to me, as well as my user name, leaving me yet again with no way to log in and actually make use of the subscriptions I have paid for, including my most recent one that I paid for only 2-3 days ago. Buyers Be Warned: every solution offered in the past by customer service has never worked. I have been billed for renewals even though I have gone on record for cancelling, & I still can’t get access.

It would be perfect if I could enlarge the script. It is too small.. We used to be able to do it. Is it cost cutting? Such a shame.

Holly Wood Issue. I have the same reaction each year to the Hollywood issue: “What a waste of an issue !”

Crashes, unable to use. Bought a digital subscription, crashes upon opening edition. Despite reinstalls I'm unable to use. Asking for refund.

Doesn’t Scale for iPhone XS. It’s a crappy letterboxed experience on an iPhone XS. Seriously, coming from someone who works in an app development environment- this is such a simple update to make. I feel that this is probably a business decision to ignore app development in favour of the website. So be it. This app has been deleted.

App update failure. Updated the app & now it is frozen. Frankly am tired of the ongoing issues with this app. Fix it

Gone. My purchased copy of this months VF will now not open. It says "cannot load data, restart application and try again". Done this numerous times, even updated my OS today and it still won't work. Not happy, I need my VF!

Unusable. The interface is worse than any emag I’ve ever used. The latest issue locks on the inner cover and won’t let you access any further. A complete waste of money.

BRING BACK LANDSCAPE!!!. I've been a VF subscriber for many many years and haven't had time to read it for a few months and now I find I can't have it in landscape mode - WTF.

Vanity Unfair. Love this app - when it works!!!!! Bought the magazine, now find it has an add for Sprint (no thanks, I am an overseas subscriber), and it crashes the app. VF - you need to fix this, now.

Never Worked and Poor Customer Service. I purchased the $20 year subscription to Vanity Fair iPad app. Although the purchase went through without a problem, I was never able to access the content or any of the various issues of the magazine. I sent several emails to the Vanity Fair customer service and received nothing but automatically-generated responses telling me what to do if I am a subscriber to the print magazine. I'm not a subscriber so that help was useless. Customer service eventually replied but they did not help me at all. I am now waiting to be contacted by their " IS & T department" (whatever that is) but it has been two weeks so I don't expect a response from that. So, essentially, I lost my $20. I recommend not signing up for their subscription on the iPad.

Vanity Fair. Hard to navigate and does not rotate on iPad. Love the content and have been a subscriber for 20 years

350mb???. The files are 350 mb each and take forever to download. As a previous reviewer said it suspends if it goes into sleep or you switch apps. I wish I could cancel. Other mags are under 50mb. TF20012

Great upgrade!!. I have bought several magazine apps and Vanity Fair is one of the best. I especially enjoy the extra pics and videos that are offered in the app version. Unfortunately I have an iPad one and using the older version of the app makes my iPad crash when it open the magazine. Wish they would go back to the landscape option as well.

Can’t open articles!!. I’m not sure what’s changed but I can’t open the articles in the latest issue of the digital magazine. I initially thought it might have some to do with my older iPad but I still cannot open the same articles on my new iPhone. Please fix ASAP!!

iPhone X update. It is supposed to have been uodated for iPhone X but the format still displays olded iphone ratio. Please fix this. Thank you.

VF on my devices. Downloaded and paid for the current issue on my phone but was unable to open on my tablet, which is where I wanted to read it later. Rethink ordering.

Great App. I've been a print subscriber for a while, and set up was easy and quick. I never thought I'd get into reading articles on the iPad instead of print, but the ui is good and so is the overall experience.

Download doesn’t function properly. I don’t usually have problems downloading but I haven’t been able to read VF on my iPhone

An Absorbing Read. I love this iPad version of VF. It's accessible and beautiful, with imbedded video and audio, so that this reader has had a rich encounter with the June issue. And $2 a month is very fair. Can't wait for all the quality magazines to show up like this.

Not user friendly. Difficult to navigate. Not intuitive. Cannot be read when screen is turned. Dated format.

Why go digital if you will limit the experience so much?. Although this is a digital edition, this magazine has no ability for selecting text, pinch to zoom for photos, or any of the interactive abilities offered by other publications. I didn't like reading images of text on my computer and I don't like doing it on my iPad.

VF iPad Edition works – Account Access does not. While the VF edition displays each month's content very well, the user account access is the WORST I've seen for any publication or website. Pretty well impossible to access one's account information or, most importantly, verify what one has paid or will be billed for. Nowhere can one retrieve or view one's subscription information for the iPad edition.

Takes too long to download issues. It's the same as the printed mag. The problem is that it takes way too long to download an issue. It doesn't do it in the background (even with the new newsstand feature) and you have to make sure the iPad doesn't going into a sleep mode while downloading or else it pauses. Fix the amount of time it takes to download and I will give it 5 stars.

Vanity fair. This is the only magazine app I don't have trouble with.

Horrendous App With No Customer Service. They took my money, and weeks later I still can’t access my subscription. Numerous phone calls, emails and no response. Zero customer service. Do NOT buy subscriptions.

Double charging subscribters. I received an email from Vanity Fair yesterday informing me that as a subscriber, I could access issues from my iPad at no cost should I install this app. I happily downloaded the app, but lo and behold, I am being charged to download the magazines! Either fix the app, or stop sending false advertising please.

Not Worth The Hassle. This app is a mess. New issues won’t download. The few that have, constantly malfunction - freezing up. I’m cancelling my subscription and Conde Nast can keep my money. Not worth the hassle.

draconian privacy policy. would love to renew and use this app again but read the privacy policy ...

Strange. One would think the digital subscription would show up before the magazine has been on newsstands but guess not.

Stuck. The new version of this app is not showing my previously purchased issues. I do not want to run the old version for my old issues and have a second app for new issues.

Great app: VF 💥. This app works great on iPhone X

A step backwards (but they listened!). Update - most of the serious problems with the previous version have been fixed, so I'm revising my rating from a 1 to a 4. Thank you for listening to your readers! Previous review follows: New version is a real step back - definitely falls into "WTH were they thinking?" territory. Navigation is non-intuitive (reading time???) and the app doesn't remember where you left off. You have to reload the issue you were last reading and figure out how to get back to the article you want. Interactive features (polls, photos, captions) are incredibly clumsy. What used to be a delightful iPad experience is now a huge pain. It's actually better to read the print edition (maybe that's what they want).

Worst app ever!. This app does not work for subscribers. Vanity Fair/Conde Nast do NOTHING to help. When you contact them, they send you a form letter telling you to sign up. They ought to be ashamed. They are a disgrace to the world of apps. Q

Junk crashes all the now after "update" does not work at all. I used to really like Vanity Fair and look forward to reading it. Now all I think about is the writing as shoddy as the App and if I have been fooled all these years. Shame on Vanity Fair for putting out such junk. I have told them either fix the app or cancel my subscription. this is a really bad set up

VF failure. Am existing VF print subscriber and this app is supposed to provide ipad access? Unfortunately, this app has not worked from the beginning. Numerous email exchanges with VF customer care simply provides instructions to do the same thing over that has already been done when installed. Am still unable to view VF without buying a new subscription. Perhaps that's VF plan from beginning. Offer print customers iPad access to their subscription and when that does not work, leave them to buy a duplicate subscription for their ipad. Now customer care does not respond at all to help requests. Without competent tech support and not working as offered, this app should be avoided.

Log In Problems. As a subscriber to the magazine for over 2 decades I find it incredibly frustrating that the app fails to recognize my address. I fiddled with "St., Street" and every variation and still no luck. If the point is to offer an alternative log in method for people who don't have their magazine label / account number with them, this shouldn't be like breaking into the Swiss Bank. Then I tried the app contact page to make them aware of the issue and get advice if possible, and was continually prompted for not having a valid zip code even though I had already selected Canada as my country. Again no luck. I wanted to renew my subcription online. Guess I'll stick with snail mail and the non digital magazine. Please make your software more user friendly Vanity Fair !

Terrific. I would not have thought that the app version would approach the quality of the print version but it does. With easy navigation and extra features I actually appreciate the app version more.

On line subscriptions. Easy to use. Love the archives issue

Font size and pages!. Updated review: just downloaded the new version of the app. Would love to be able to test it out but takes 5+ minutes to download a single issue which then fails just before completing download. Have attempted to delete app and re-install to no effect. Also, update does not inform you that you will have to redownload all issues you have already downloaded. Why is this so difficult? I just want to read the content I have paid for.

Subscriber. I’m a frustrated digital subscriber who’s supposed to have access to the magazines online but the block page of for subscribers only often pops up. It’s frustrating and the app isn’t user friendly.

Thanks for going back. Thanks for addressing concerns about the new format. It was not user friendly. This format is great! Sometimes change isn't good 😁

Crashes with each new issue. The magazine layout is great apart from the lack of pinch zoom feature and large file sizes. The best digital magazine format I've seen so far otherwise. But I bought a year subscription and each time a new issue comes in the app keeps on crashing and is unusable. It is very frustrating. Please fix this.

Great Digital Edition. Big files, but with decent broadband only takes 5-10 minutes ; no big deal. I have no problems with download or app (I also get 11 other mags and 2 newspapers; this is no different from SI, Esquire, GQ, Auto etc, so really not sure what the wining is about). We get this free with our print sub; my wife reads that, but I prefer the iPad edition. Stunning photos, indexing of articles, layouts and bonus features. Links to previous articles also very helpfull.

Convenient and intuitve. All the lovely writing of the magazines at your fingertips. I vowed never ti like iPad reading. I was sadly mistaken. This means in easy, the pictures and other formatting are assessable. The finding of new stories easy with displays of further stories that capture ones interest. That's my favorite part of his design.......ones curiosity is engaged by this design format.

Worst app. I purchased a print subscription a month ago for vanity fair & architectural digest (which I still have not received) and wanted to download January's version for an 8 hour plane ride. However when I sign in it won't let me download anything (for both apps) even after I delete the app and re download and sign in and out several times. Customer service even reset my subscription (for both) and it still doesn't work. Conde Nast's apps are the only apps I have had trouble with and I would not even make the effort to download any of Conde Nast's magazines.

Let me join the chorus. The new version lacks all intuitiveness, user-friendliness and most of all, it lacks all my saved back issues and bookmarks. What the hell? It is nearly impossible for people like me who subscribed through the app (aka via iTunes) to figure out how to log in and get all the old content back. Then once you do figure it out, all previous issues only fill about 80% of the screen. I want my bookmarks back. I want to use the entire screen of my iPad. I want to start reading where I left off. These are basic app functions which should not be problems for Condé Nast in 2017.

Love this app. I had no issues with download or app function. Started reading newest issue in moments and had my back issues listed and ready for download. As a long time subscriber of Vanity Fair, I love having the option of viewing from my iPad ( though, I will never quit my paper version) and find the app to be a perfect addition to my reading enjoyment of a wonderful magazine.

Phew!. Thank you for bringing back the older, better app and making Vanity Fair Digital great again. I can once again enjoy my monthly routine of reading VF cover-to-cover, as I have been for the past 15 years. --------------------------------------------- The new version is awful. It downloads at the speed of sloths and only displays on about 2/3 the available screen width. Did Trump design this or pay Russia to hack you? Bring back our old, reliable Vanity Fair App, please!

Misguided upgrade. As is so often the case with software, the developers and the marketers keep asking for and providing updates that are supposed to be improvements until the point of no return is reached. What you get then is bloatware. That is where we are with this app which worked so well before and with the introduction of the time wasting newsstand app is now useless. What was wrong with having a magazine folder? Perhaps the Vanity Fair people have never heard of QA or application testing where you actually have some users try the app before inflicting it on innocent and subscription paying subscribers.

Won't download latest issue. I upgraded from an iPad first gen to an iPad 3 and had to download all my old issues, but the newest issue (June) came in the mail today but I can't find any way to get my iPad to download it. I have automatic downloads turned on but nothing happens. Why isn't it automatically downloading? Why is there no way to manually download? Otherwise, I love the app. This is the first problem I've had with it.

Worked great for me. I downloaded this yesterday, entered my print subscription information, and was able to download and start reading the last issue of VF on my iPad all within minutes. Love it! Only the May and June issues are available, but I am assuming that is because that is when they began offering an iPad edition?

Amazing! No need for the physical Copy!. Better then the paper version! This has been the promise of the iPad delivered! I didn't have the issues others had gaining access to my account / complimentary versions of the magazine through this app (faster then I receive them in the mail!). Enjoy!

Great app!. Downloaded the free app today so have no experience with previous versions. It popped right up on my "newstand". Have been a VF subscriber for several years. Signed in with my Epicurious password and had no problem accessing the content. Took about 4 minutes to download the latest issue over home broadband wi fi. The interface is very easy to navigate. Great way to carry my current mag or revisit a previous issue.

A good App. I read all the reviews before setting this up, I had a subscription, it was a little confusing setting it up but works fine once you are over that hurdle. Conde should make better directions for signing up your written subscription, have patience in the beginning and then all is ok

My Top 5 Favorite App!. I am so surprised to see these one-star ratings. This app is exactly what I was hoping it would be: very interactive, pretty intuitive and well designed. I have had a Conde Nast account for years now & was able to seamlessly download the app, sign in to my account, and download purchased copies of my hard copy magazine subscription. Sorry to hear all these problems :( I'm on an iPad 2 & running OS 5.0.1 The ONLY thing to be improved on is some sort of bookmark or Clipping or highlighting feature... I love the writing and like to share with my friends & family. Best Magazine. Best Editor. Best App. Thanks!

Doesn’t work. As a subscriber I should have digital access to issues using this app but when I tap on an issue it wants to charge me $8.99. This happened on both my iPad and iPhone. I tried to get help from subscriber support but they just pasted the original instructions that I had already followed (unsuccessfully) in their reply. I tried deleting the app and reentering the info but no luck. So instead of the VF app I have to use a web browser, find the article I want to read, and log in on the browser.

Works brilliantly. I've tried other magazine apps but they always seem like flat PDFs of my paper magazine and therefore lackluster and tiny. This app functions beautifully allowing articles to pull together rather than separated by ads, sizing is very readable and cool automation of graphics in articles. Now the paper version seems flat and late. It's time to save a tree and cancel my paper subscription. Thanks VF.

Analog format for digital era. I’m about to delete the app and cancel my subscription. I got into VF for the articles that would pop up on Apple News. Good stuff. Ad free. News is getting full of ads now, and why I’m leaving it. So I’m getting all the apps from the source, but VF wants me to have the whole magazine, without a search menu, so I need to swipe through everything including ads to get to what I want. This is the bad kind of old school. The point of subscribing, on the digital era, is that you get to bypass the commercial system. Good luck with your format, sorry to leave the good writers you hire.

Beautiful experience. It navigates like thumbing through a print mag. Pictures in the Table of Contents, captions you can turn on and off, plus the assurance you are receiving all of the content combine to provide the reader with the choice to read a little or read in depth at any time. I never think about the app, it just feels like I'm reading Vanity Fair. This is the standard Conde Nast uses for all its mags and it works well.

Bad, buggy app with worse customer service. After working for awhile, the app crashed. When I deleted and reloaded it, all I was able to get was the "buy" option even after logging in. Many deletions and reinstalls later I got the same thing. A long series of emails to customer service started out friendly and got progressively worse as the problem wasn't getting fixed. I finally uninstalled the app and reinstalled it as they suggested (and as I had done several times previously) and guess what... it still doesn't work. Horrible app. Bad customer service. Makes me want to cancel my subscription.

Thanks for nothing, Graydon. First of all, it's pretty telling that the link above that says "Vanity Fair iPad Edition Support" actually takes you to a page that says "Feedback." So my attempt to get help took me to some email dump that no one will ever read. Thanks! It's also pretty obvious that this app exists to make money off NEW subscribers. Like many other reviewers, I tried multiple times to use my subscriber account number to access issues, and still I can't view anything without paying. Again. Waste of my time, waste of my money. Too bad. I heard the app looks cool.

Background downloading?. Doesn't seem to support newsstand's automatic background downloading of new issues. Extremely frustrating, especially considering how huge the downloads are and how often they time out while downloading. It often takes me a few hours of babysitting the download, trying to make sure my iPad doesn't turn off, restarting the download when it pauses for no reason, etc. I t ought newsstand would fix these issues for me, but it appears that Conde Nast has not yet decided to take advantage of automatic downloading.

Enough is Enough--ZERO STARS. Finally came to my senses and cancelled my print subscription to both VF and New Yorker. After nearly a month of trying to access my print subscription on iPad and Fire, I decided to stop wasting my time. "Signing in" required having the patience to get through interminable messages about "authentication failed", "authentication timeout" and "no Internet connection", only to find that "signing in" didn't actually give me any access to current print issues. A monumental waste of time...customer "service" was clueless.

Crap App. Bought subscription to digital mag thru their website. I can access back issues free on the web archive but even though I linked my subscription to the app, I apparently have to *purchase* them if I want to read them via the app?? All the app is, is the magazine in digital format. Click on the cover to download it. No archive, no search, none of the daily content offered by email. Lame.

Beautiful app til now. I love how beautiful the app is. The photos, the articles are all easy to,see/read. HOWEVER, I have tried everything I can think of to be able to read articles in landscape view and can't figure out if its a design problem or user error. In either case, it needs to be fixed. It is impossible to,read vertically on an iPad. I'm in landscape mode almost all the to,e, th articles on VF are not. Please fix the rotation or make it more obvious to,me to make that happen. Because turning my device doesn't work.

Excellent. I've subscribed tot he print edition for some time but was getting to the point where I hardly ever read it, as I can't carry paper mags around with me. Love being able to read this wherever I am and all the magazines from the last year are available at my fingertips. Unlike some other reviewers it has worked perfectly for me.

High quality. I first used this app to read my hard copies on the road. Since I already was carrying my iPad with me it made sense. When my subscription was up for renewal I went with digital copy only. Unlike some magazines or newspapers VF carries everything that the print addition does. Now if it would only download at a reasonable speed so I wouldn't be stuck only downloading at night since it always stops downloading if I open another app. That's my only complaint

Enhancements Bring Magazine Added Dimension. I have been a subscriber to the print edition for many years. The app makes the magazine easier to read (no more hunting for the end of the article!) I also enjoy the bonus sections and links that will take you to related articles in the archives.

How it should be done. Finally, an effort at translating a magazine to the iPad that really works well, and i think VF is better here than in print. They really thought out the experience and I think it's worth taking a shot on an issue to see what you think. Another advantage: you don't have to inhale all those perfume ads from the print edition.

Terrible App. iPad forgot my password, so I selected "forgot password." I received a link via email so I could change my password. Link takes me to a web page via Safari with a stupid picture of Graydon Carter saying "let's blame the computer, shall we?" Great. I followed the link but there are no instructions; there is no help; there is no solution. I have no idea how to make the app work. So frustrating. Totally absolutely unclear. And please, enough with the Marilyn Monroe, Alec Baldwin, and anyone from the Kennedy family on the cover. You're killing the magazine in so many ways I can't keep count!!

Worth Working Thru. Yes, I too had trouble getting the subscription initialized. I am a long time print subscriber. I was frustrated and followed thru several times with emails and what not. It was neither easy nor pleasant. However, my message is this: It is worth the effort because once it's up and running this is the gold standard for iPad magazines.

Vanity fair. Again your stupid app . Not working , and your email how to fix this is not working as well , I dont even want your app . Why you make this so blody complicated is unbeliveble ....who desine this I subscribe to vanity fair for like 18 years ...and I can get stupid app for my i-pad ???? I dont want one K.Ridley Fix it .or go to hell and dont offer this app .and how come I dont have this app and it says instolle ? I want you to fix that right now thank you K R

Please revert to the previous version. The narrow scrolling view is awful (that's not a paging, magazine feel read at all), it's incredibly slow, the layout and design are totally different to the print version, and can I say again, the narrow view that doesn't fit properly? Ugh. PLEASE listen to your readers and roll back to the previous version. This one is terrible.

Pure Crap. I agree, I am a subscriber, and need to jump through hoops to get a download. I have done everything, reset passwords, rebooted, called customer service, to no avail. I will not re up my subscription, because there are plenty of magazines that load monthly without any hassle. this is a joke. I have been putting up w this app for 7 months now, and have managed to actually have 1 magazine downloaded the entire time. sorry, but I think we have been more than patient w this app. Will not renew print sub either, so you have lost at least one customer, but I cannot go through this every time a new issue comes out.

"Improved" upgrade is total failure. Thank you for listening to us and returning the app to the way it use to be! Whoever came up with this new version should look for a new career. Please bring back the last version. Lost all my previously save editions, when going back to article, have to scrolled back from front. Update is total failure. After all the bad reviews, Vanity Fair, go fix it!

Good Intentions Fail. Although Conde Nast was able to get their New Yorker app to understand that print subscribers earn the ability to access the magazines (current and past as far back as October 2010), their Vanity Fair app is only offering print subscribers the May issue for free, and asking them to pay for current (June) issue. And no other back issues available. You know, if this were a small indie developer with limited resources, I would have more compassion. But a big, profitable, corporate media machine like Conde Nast, nothing but contempt for a poorly executed app.

I am only rating the app, not the publication. I love Vanity Fair as a the publication. The app, however, is not stable. I have to close the app and reopen it to download an article. Often, when I go back to the table of contents, the app will reload the article I just read rather than link to the newly selected article. I spend a lot of time having to do this. If it weren't for my love of Vanity Fair I would probably cancel my subscription becauseof the instability of the app.

VF on my IPad. I have a print subscriber for many years but since this app was introduced, I have read the magazine exclusively on my IPad. Much easier carrying, especially September and I have made good friends better by giving the print copy away, as I much prefer reading it here. I also loved the instant ability to access the archives when passed articles are referenced.

Same problem. Wired works fine... New Yorker works fine.... Vanity Fair does not recognize my subscription and tries to charge me for each issue. I guess it's called Customer Care because I care that I can't access Vanity Fair on my IPad. When I called them, they just said it wasn't working and they didn't know why. Obviously they could have cared less! I dropped my subscription to VF over the IPad over charging issue. I thought it had been fixed, and now this! I love VF but I will NEVER subscribe again unless this issue is corrected very quickly.

Frustrating bugs, no support. I purchased a one year digital subscription. The first two issues downloaded without a problem and are beautifully formatted. With the most recent issue, however, it's required four days of trouble shooting, and the issue still seizes up about a third of the way through the download and will not download. I had to search for fixes online, since the online response took three days and simply suggested I double check to make sure my script had not expired. I've tried reloading the app, to no avail. Refunds are not offered or else I would cancel. Disappointing.

Long tradition of quality and distinction.. Vanity Fair has been my favorite magazine for decades. To me, it has always been the epitome of good journalism, good editorials, and most of all defense, of the truth. I have been a proud suscriptor for many years and every and each one of them, l have only confirmed the tremendous good job Condé Nast has always done with all its publications. Congratulations!

Condé Nast flops again with iPad app. The app is currently stuck on the inside cover photo of the most recent issue and I can’t get to the content. I don’t think anyone designing digital media at Condé Nast actually reads magazines in any format or they would not persist in making it more difficult and unpleasant to read their products. Like AD which recently launched, then corrected an unfortunate redo of their digital app, vanity Fair is one if the better magazines to read on an iPad. Better than print in my view. That is until they start “improving” the apps and failing repeatedly to make anything better.

Good start, lots of room for improvement.. This app is slow and forgetful. If you close an issue, or switch apps for too long, it will forget where you left off. This is a very basic feature whose absence is incredibly frustrating. Who is likely to read an entire issuer of VF in one sitting? Plus sides: beautiful typography and layouts, and the navigation is simple and intuitive. Unfortunately, performance issues stand in the way of this being a worthwhile replacement for the print edition.

Horrible!!. I signed up & now when I try & sign in it says authentication failed so I try & sign in again after resetting password & same thing. So delete app & re download & it says my account already exists, but I can't sign in because it won't recognize password. So F'd up! I have emailed customer care 3 times & no response. Of cours no phone number anywhere.

Ditto. Same gripe as the last couple of entries; I've had the mailed issue for over a week as well as the same issue displayed all that time as "not available." I've attempted to re-register, I've deleted the app and reinstalled - nothing. I've contacted customer "service" days ago - nothing. VF is a great magazine and I generally like the design of the digital issue. Way too much time has been wasted by customers trying to find a resolution to your mistakes. This isn't simply a small irritating " glitch," FV, it is severely damaging your brand by these on-going unresolved issues.

Worst app with the worst customer service. I still can't read the magazine from IPad - despite using correct login, I keep getting an "auth failed" message. When I try to reset the pw, it says unexpected error. AND when I contact customer service, they just give me some fluffy response like "you successfully logged in three weeks ago...". This app should not even be offered in his stage. As a paying subscriber, I feel greatly insulted by an otherwise great magazine. How hard can it get to make this work when the Wired and New Yorker apps work just fine? Come on guys...

Awful. Impossible to sign in to. They don't recognize your name, your subscription number, nothing. And no help, either. So the only people they aggravate is their print subscriber base. Same problem The New Yorker app had. But why would they learn from The New Yorker? Just because the 2 magazines have Conde Nast as their owner? Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I'm deleting the app altogether. Can't bear any more of this customer-directed frustration. Other better executed diversions compete for my attention. May delete my print subscription as well.

Doesn't work. Worked like 2 months ago. Then I signed out and when I signed back it, nothing. It wanted me to buy the magazines despite my registered subscription. I've been back and fourth with vf customer service, and they haven't done anything helpful. Was great when it worked, but now it's just wasted space. And really, Apple "staff?" This is one of your picks? Sure, it's a great app when it works (more like worked), but right now it's just an inaccessible hunk of junk for print subscribers, with crappy customer support to boot. Great pick, guys!

Really?. Come on VF! You're obviously not stupid...arrogant, maybe. My VF app keeps crashing! Now, seeing as apple checked this out, it seems that the proverbial ball is in your court to get off your duff and straighten out the bugs in your app! Sure, most readers are going to be paper-bound, however, we get the direction VF is going in. Unfortunately, your means of travel keep breaking down! Fix please! I would like to enjoy your insightful articles and editorials and not have to schlep my iPad AND ur magazine! Let's go, kids and get it together!

Fix the network problem and you've got a winner. Beautiful app and easy to use once you practice a bit. The only downside is not being able to delete old issues to save storage space. The “delete after X months” feature doesn’t appear to work on any of my - admittedly, not new - devices.

Vanity Fair app is a failure. Why does VF keep sending emails to their subscribers about an app that doesn't work? I have tried repeatedly to download VF and the only option I get is to "subscribe" or "buy" the issue. When I write to VF for help I just get a boiler plate, unhelpful response. This has been a problem for me for several months. Fix it...it is not rocket science!,,

I WOULDN'T DO IT!. Bought this app...it wouldn't let me sign in. tried over and over. tried the "lost password" thing. didn't work. start to think i must have bought a trial subscription by mistake. then i get an email (months later) from itunes saying "we're renewing your subscription." i write and say "i never got the first issue." 3 emails and 4 phone calls later to both VF and itunes and the answer is basically this "screw you." (it was a polite "screw you" but still...) they say can't give me refund. can't give me subscription. can't give me old issues...i am SOL. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

Intuitive and a pleasure to use. I thoroughly enjoy reading VF on the iPad. At times prefer the iPad to the actual magazine. They've done a great job making the photography and various articles and sections interactive without forcing anything complex on the reader. Jumping to a particular article, scanning the magazine and navigating overall couldn't be easier. I normally don't write reviews but the naysayers shouldn't steer you away.
