Love it. This is a great video app, with a terrific UI controls. Also, the developers are super responsive to bug reports, etc. my only wish is for an Apple TV app, but until then, go get this app. You won’t be disappointed.

Add music playlists from local. This feels like kind of a low bar, but this is the only app I could find capable of adding a music folder from local storage, selecting all files at once to place in a playlist, and shuffling the playback of that playlist. Kind of mind-boggling that that’s hard to find. I was happy to pay for the no-ads upgrade. You can even sort the playlists into folders, which is a nice touch. If I can make two suggestions: it would be nice to be able to point to the files without duplicating them (though I think that may just be a limitation of iOS) and I’d love to be able to sort any music I add by artist and album in addition to by playlist or folder. I’m also not entirely confident the playlist deleted from storage properly when I tried to do so in the app, as the music was able to continue playing in the player. I hope it’s just a delayed, temporary-cache-type effect, as it would be a real problem for me over time if they built up in the background (I want to rotate music on and off the device).

Okay. Overall I like it, but it only supports chromecast for audio, not video. If you try to cast a video to the tv only the sound plays to a blank screen It also does not handle MOV_TEXT subtitles correctly. The html codes are visible on screen And finally, there is no sleep timer

BEST PLAYER ANYWHERE but zero support. THE GOOD NEWS - best player on earth for apple IOS and rock solid, no bugs. So many features youll think u hit lottery. Bad news IF IT MATTERS...they NEVER respond to emails, like never ever ever. Maybe they know the product is flawless or maybe their zombies. Who would know since they never reply. Ive sent multiple emails asking for just ONE tweek to UI loaded with compliments. No reply. Oh well. But hey, its AMAZING SO just buy it and be happy. Hands down this player will play ANYTHING from ANYWHERE on earth. Plays any file imaginable from any cloud, any server, any laptop pc, mac unix or other unix, plays from ftp servers w/o having to know some horrendous long path like vnc. IMPORTANT, MANY programs say they play from ftp or webdav but they actually downloadd whole file then play it locally. NOT NPLAYER, it streams from ftp and webdav. Just for fun we testedd streaming from from an old apple osx 4 .11 from year 2000, it worked Also. 20 year old pc and it worked. Chromecast surrroundsound, dts, DOLBY, TRUHD, flac, oog, etc ad nauseum. Like i said bloody everything. bug free, simply amazing, just never send emails your better off talking to yourself in a mirror for an hour if it makes ya feel better. Haha jeez.

Not quite. The reviews sold me so I paid $5 and I have to say this is either a Swiss Army knife or a Rubik’s cube depending on what you are looking for. I am an audiophile more than a videophile purchasing for the DLNA capability streaming from a music server. If you care about album and artist information this app is NOT for you. Album and artist information is non existent in the app. I sent an email asking if there is a way to enable album and artist information in the app and in screen (Airplay) and no response. Seems like a no brainer to me. If all you care about is song title, this is the app for you. The configuration options are over the top, but you can absolutely get lost navigating the app. Look at 8player or mconnect if you are an audiophile looking for DLNA functionality. Hopefully, they can add artist and album information functionality and build some additional structure around configuration as it really is a solid player with some interesting playback options. Never crashes. Just plays!

Love the app overall. First I'd like to say this app is more accessible than it was the last time I downloaded it lol. I'm using this with VOiceover. However, I do notice that when I play a YT video with sound boost and things enabled, it buffers. I'm sure it isn't my internet, because I have nice fast internet. Also, I've noticed the video will stop playing when I leave the app. Otherwise, love this player. I love how I can boost the sound, and use preamp and the equalizer. Makes things sound so much clearer. I haven't tried downloading anything as of yet. Not really sure what I have to do to download. Glad I bought this app.

iPhone 7 Plus extremely heating issue. This is the best audio & video player app I’ve ever used. But the last update is heating up my iPhone 7 Plus extremely. Also draining the battery super fast. At first I thought IOS 13 is causing the issue. But the issue still exists after updating to IOS 14. Plz fix the issue. Otherwise the app is becoming harmful for iPhone battery.

Need more features. A good app, all that's missing is a sleep timer for audio files and maybe an audio car mode with bigger buttons because I use this app for audiobooks. Pro tip, click on the album cover of the mini audio tab to open full screen audio option with variable play speed

Some issues, but excellent overall. Support is NONEXISTENT. Guys, this app is excellent in its comprehensive set of features, overall user-friendliness, its performance, and the design. However, I’ve had a few issues and support literally does not exist! I have contacted them through the app’s support facility, on a few occasions, and have NEVER received any kind of response. This is one thing that you need to do as a developer!! You cannot just make a great product, but you need to address problems and communicate back to users who reach out for help. I would give this app a full five 🎖 rating, except not only lax but literally no support removes two stars. Frankly, if there were a better app out there, I’d get a refund for this and switch; but the truth is it’s the best. That doesn’t excuse no support though. Dev: if you’re paying attention at all, please contact your users who have asked for help - that’s your responsibility. Last thing I would like to add is it would be great if we could have a button on the screen controls to change audio tracks. I watch a lot of stuff with commentary and I also watch that stuff without and the app always retains the last one used, which is good except it’s a bunch of tapping to switch.

Yes! This really IS the best player on ios for video. I have tried them all and there are always a few features lacking with other players. This one ticks all the boxes for me. Plays any file, can play selections in random order, adjustable post processing, great scaling including pinch to zoom... Features way to numerous to mention in a short review. I got the paid version and very happy with it. No glitches or hang ups so far on iPad pro. Keep up the good work...

Screen off play audio. Why not work on screen off time audio play ?

Fails on basic mp3 functionality. This app does not order mp3 files by track number despite having the option. Tracks are always displayed alphabetic by title. Also no response from their support. Otherwise it looks like it would be a great player. Just this one bug makes it unusable for me.

Cannot login to Emby. The browser tab does not support logging into Emby account. Paid for this app and it’s underdeveloped.

Best media player. This is the one to get. Forget worrying about storage space. If you have a popular cloud storage program, just store your stuff there and access it here by downloading when you need it or stream it.

Going back, and forward. The seconds and minutes of a video in this player a bit off, especially in when going back by few seconds, it goes back more than that, and same with going forward.

Cannot play next music when play via samba. After play a track then stop, not play a next track

Almost perfect. This is by far the most capable and stable iOS media player I've ever used. The only feature I really wish to have here is support for Replaygain tags. Other apps support it, but their interfaces are not nearly so polished as EmPlayer.

Music doesn’t play when screen is locked. It’s a good app.. the reason I dislike it though is because when screen goes black or locks . The music will no longer play. That makes me frustrated and dislike it. I might have to get another music app because of that. I have an iPhone XS. My other music apps I have installed have no problem playing with the screen locked.

Perfect for Power User. I can literally find all custom tweaks I want in this affordable app, such as enabling multiple subtitles or playing Dolby Vision videos with QuickTime decoder. Fascinating and robust player indeed!

My Favorite app hands down. I love this app, I cant say enough good things a out it. Its command central on my Ipad for all media. I have a flawless and direct stream to my cloud server as well as all my local content. The UI is straight forward easy to navigate with large fonts, no its not racy but boy it gets the job done! Well done guys! Special tip, this is one of the few apps that work seamlessly with lighting memory sticks, plug it in and you will see it appear right in the menu like any other media folder. No need for special apps, so basically I have a 128gb Ipad now

best file browser on ios, only one complaint. great network connectivity, extensive file support, with lots of option to customize. only complaint is that thumbnails of image files look blurry when icons are big. i wish there was an option to increase the resolution of the thumbnails.

Everybody talking about this app.. I am looking for the video players app. But too many app on the App Store, so I did googling. Find one answer. “Try nPlayer.” Eventually you will use nPlayer.

Great app. This app just works. What I like is the ability to choose a playlist and it goes seamlessly through the whole list.

This honestly is the best. This lets me download files that iTunes doesn't support to the iPad, great for long flights. The extensive codec support is essential. Unfortunately there are still places where they use simplified Chinese when the device is in Traditional Chinese, but I can live with it.

Is a good media player but…. I recently upgraded to ios 17 and found that opus files crash the app completely. Hope there is a fix for this. Otherwise its fun to use, i like being able to customise the interface to my liking

Great app. Best media player out there.. Excellent Chromecast and AirPlay support. Only streaming video app that lets switch to air playing the app’s screen instead of just the raw video. Or change the AirPlay resolution. (Tap the cast button while airplaying to adjust) Some people might have trouble with this but if they do that’s because their media files aren’t supported! It’s not nPlayer’s fault. You can only cast files that can be decoded by the device you’re casting too. So if you’re file is weird, like it’s HEVC, has unusual dimensions, ogg audio, etc “, you can’t cast it, I do wish the keyboard support came back. A recent update broke the backward forward keys. It’s still the best!

The Only Working iOS Media Player. Others either don’t play tracks without issues or only allow you to access remote content. This is literally the only working media player. 0 issues aside from an edgy UI

DO NOT PURCHASE! App is no longer supported by devs. I generally like this app very much but since the last update I can’t use the navigation buttons on the magic keyboard to fast forward and backward. This was a very useful feature for keyboard owners so please fix it. Update: App seems to be longer supported by developers. There was no update for this app after ios 16, and that update broke some more features of the app. For me, casting to apple tv enabled devices was very important but it is no longer an option. I used yo love this app but so sad to see this being abandoned by its devs

Won’t connect to samba net work (nad) and zero customer support.. Don’t waste your time trying to get support from this scam company. It works perfectly on my iPad mini but on iPad Air it absolutely will not connect to a Nas net work. And even worse than that is that Customer Service is nonexistent and they will never reply to you. Take your business elsewhere avoid avoid avoid!

List of some ios 14 compatibility issues. On XsMax - still when pressing on browser to transfer files while connected to a wifi network the app freezes, 100% of the time -picture in picture (PiP) does not automatically turn on when playing a video then swiping out of the app, I have to press on the icon on the right side. See Netflix as an example. -when pressing on PiP icon, it changes the playback current time I love nPlayer as I know a lot of work goes into it, thanks for the hard work

3 Hearts until….. This app allows for playback directly from usb storage device, but for audio, id3 tags are non-existent for tracks that has such tags. If developers could add this and ability to queue folders, then this would be 5 stars and I would happily recommend.

Never written a review for any app,,,was having trouble with new tv,,,Sony 65, and airplay so I thought I would give this app a try,,,only had couple of hours and it’s great, no more problems casting movies from iPad Air 4 to tv, am using chromecast from app to tv...picture outstanding as well as sound,,,using ext hdd with iPad, buy it...it really is good...

stopped working with Dropbox. I loved the interface and enjoyed using it for a few months, but suddenly I started getting an error message when connecting to Dropbox. All my files are there, so it’s now useless to me. Reinstalling did not work and I’ve gotten no support. Time to look at other apps, I guess.

Plz fix bug. Returning to previous folder has been a disaster since I upgraded to the newest version and selecting multiple folders keeps coming up even when I didn’t do anything .

Almost Perfect!. Tons of features. Best app for playing Media. My only small criticism is I wish it pulled modern landscape rectangular thumbnails to match my other videos, and nicer icons for folders instead of the line art (looks a bit primitive) BUT FUNCTIONALLY THE BEST APP!!! - Shows video thumbnails (album art) - Plays videos to external displays in correctly - Background Play (iOS device screen off) - Playlists - Many Media types supported

No upgrades. I’ve bought nPlayer paid version for $4.99. For me there are not enough features. Usually, in this case, but another application, you pay additional money and get upgraded application, higher level. In this application there is no this option. You have to buy another application, nPlayer Plus in my case. So what for I need 2 same application, otherwise I wast $4.99 for nothing! No good

Unreliable - Videos stutter after playing once. Videos frequently work once, then “stutter” the next time you play them, especially MP4s and AVI. Audio plays as normal, but the video acts like it’s jumping from frame to frame and becomes completely unwatchable. Even worse, the only solution seems to be to entirely delete the file and reload it from your source. Absolutely be sure you keep a backup or your video is ruined. The problem is unpredictable - it destroys some videos, but not others and the source of the file doesn’t seem to matter. Since it seems to permanently ruin your videos, this player is too risky to use. Deleted. Try VLC or other reliable players. This thing is dangerous junk.

The best. I’ve tried them all and definitely top app that I tried. I liked it so much I actually paid for it. Use it all the time and has been the most reliable with most features.

Best video player app on the market. Absolutely love this app. The video player UX is insanely well thought out. I miss not having these controls on my other video apps. Also, there are a ton of options for cloud storage services.

Feedback. The best playback app on ios i’ve used. one feedback: when it’s switched from menu bar to slide menu and goes to “browser” tab, it’s hard for me to go to other tabs. I don’t know if it’s a special case for me.

This one does exactly what I needed. I have an extensive collection of music on a network storage drive. I looked and looked for a simple player that would access and play the media on my NAS. This one does it so well that I actually paid for it rather than just using the free (ad supported) version. If you have media on a network accessible drive, this is the app you should try. Grab the Lite version. Try it out and if you like it as much as I do, pay for the upgrade.

No technical support. I bought this app and I am still having issues with DLNA features. I’ve already contacted the app support three times without any feedback. Not even a “hello, we are working on your ticket”. It is very frustrating having app developers doing dodgy business here.

The best player I've had. Plays all file types, has native subtitle support. I've tried a whoooole bunch of media players for my iPad and this is hands down the nicest. Unobtrusive, customizable gestures. Uses picture in picture and airplays to my chrome cast (or Apple TV) so I can keep using my iPad for something else while watching. So good!

Perfect!. I had been using av player for many years but it seems the dev has gone awol. I was looking for a replacement and I have finally found it in nPlayer. So powerful and super fast on my max I love it!!! A+++

No support. I bought this to be able to sort my library by date and chromecast local files. It regularly buffers and I have not heard any response from the developer. A good tool with no support means bad tool and wasted purchase.

Features. Needed a reliable media player that did picture-in-picture and had good speed controls for watching my lecture videos, this is the only one that really worked as desired. Can be used nicely enough with split screen. I can share downloaded videos from my browser to this app easily - I love that nPlayer asks whether to just play the video or save to its storage, no other app I’ve used does this. The interface is easy to get used to, I’m glad I purchased this app even though I don’t need the fancy extra features yet.

Last Update Not So Good. After updating, any mp4 download from my server ends up with 3 dots to the right of the label, with no cover art being displayed. Does not play directly, requires additional steps by selecting and then picking “play” from a list. The same list also includes “Show as an image”, interesting option for a mp4 file. I hope that this additional process is not forcing me to purchase the plus version. A step backwards. Edit- Reinstalled, app now crashes when commencing a download from UPnP/DLNA server.

Plays anything, great somewhat customise able interface. Well worth the money if you need to play videos of multiple formats and from multiple sources.

Does not support SMB encryption. Come on guys. Please implement support for SMB3 and encryption.

PiP no longer supported. Since the latest update, nPlayer no longer works on my iPhone.

Feedback. Overall one of the best player with multiple functionality embedded inside the application. Only thing that annoys me is it doesn’t mirror the subtitle in the mirrored screen but displays in the iPhone only.

Best video player, bar none.. I’ve been using nPlayer for a year now. It’s fluid, flexible and fast. Does a great job of streaming from almost anywhere (I use Google Drive the most) and very easy to sideload videos without using iTunes. Worth every penny.

Download problem. I’m having issues with downloading some videos from recently played. I go on the online player, like the browser, and then the videos are in my recents folder, but there is no option to download them :( Please help or fix !

You made it Worse. Appreciate the effort, but you made it worse, my problems with the app were minor before, after the most recent update I have to keep deleting the app and reinstalling it every time a crashing bug shows up. I use the app with IXpand flash drives. P.S. I use the app a lot for playing audio books and podcasts, if the developer could add a sleep timer it would be much appreciated. But I’d be happy with just getting the app to stop crashing again. PPS I have the nPlayer plus app running on a version of the app over two years old and to this day it dose not have the crashing problem introduced in the last updates.

Cannot cast rmvb. App is very good. Stream pretty fast. But not all format can be casted to chromecast. Rmvb is one of them.

Looked promising, but…. All I wanted is an inexpensive video player app that supports picture-in-picture. nplayer looked fine, and I did get it to play a few videos, but now, it displays the error message ‘Not a directory’ no matter how I try to play a video file. Can anyone help?

Great player but videos player over my network keep freezing. I love this player and all of the options, but lately I cannot play any video files over my network without the playback freezing after 5-10 minutes. This issue only seems to affect nPlayer as other players do not exhibit this issue. Please fix this issue!

Unable to cast on Smart TV. After iOS 16 update, I am u able to cast videos to my LG Smast TV (running Web OS) anymore which I was able to do before iOS 16 update. There used to be two icons, one for AirPlay and the other for casting. The Airplay icon is still there, but when I use airplay, there is sound but no video on the TV.

youtube low resolution problem. Recently.. only 240P video available when watch YouTube videos.. But open YouTube in safari, there’s a 720P option.. any fix? I bet YouTube only recognize nPlayer browser as a mobile website. If YouTube can offer a desktop link of the video, it will offer 720P resolution

Very Disappointed. I purchased this app specifically to use with Chromecast and Dropbox. Every video that I tried to Cast from Dropbox would only show a blank screen after going through the process of loading. This was such a waste of money.

Great App. It is great app for music player including FLAC files on iOS devices. I wish it had Apple Car Play capability.

It works. Little ugly UI but it works, read all my video formats and subtitles and do not crash.

Bad Sorting. PRO It plays any file you throw at it. CON It only plays album tracks in alphabetical order. I, for one, like hearing the Abbey Road Medley, Beethoven’s 9th, or Dark Side of the Moon in the proper order.

video play get a significant delay. video play get a significant delay when seeking or turn into background. I don’t know why it happens, but we didn’t have this problem before. It is annoying. I guess this is a degrade promotion for the “Plus” version. Why do you made a Plus version after we purchased this app. This is a paid app , it should be a “All goods here” app already. So dishonest motivation. What’s next? A “Max” version again?

Crash. It often crashes when opening media files on my NAS.

Can NOT figure out HOW to use. Wasted $5.00 on this. More complicated than VLC (which is free). Just want to download my music, in folders, to this APP and simply play my songs. Developers need to provide some basic instructions. Disappointed.

Share icon no longer working. Before IOS 18 we still open up videos on iCloud and play them straight from the share icon this option is no longer available. App is no longer efficient enough to be useful

Privacy Issue. Please do not automatically connect to the network and "help" me fetch meta data of the local video I am playing.

It is the best player. This is the best player on ios but everytime i start watching i lose like 10 percent of my charge in 1 minute and then i have to close the player because of overheating it’s realy bothering me and this is the second time I’m writing a review . I really can’t use it with this bug.

Music stops at certain events. I’m currently on iOS 15.2. Playback stops as soon as the phone locks and whenever the app is not in the foreground.

Can you add h265 support?. When play in h265 the color looks just like washed out :(

The DLNA feature doesn’t work on iPhone XR. The DLNA feature on the iPhone XR is useless and the SonyTV does not receive it. But it works fine on iPhone8 and iPad Air2. The system version is iOS12.1, I hope you can solve this problem.

Distorted Audio. I bought this hoping to play my DTS 5.1 channel music through an external DAC into Stereo headphones. I found that it would play, but the new Equalizer and gain control causes clipping and distortion in the audio. Very disappointing.

Pls Fix. When I connect my iPhone with an external DAC (AQ dac) to stream or local playback the *.flac. The format is sill lowres. H.264 also heating up at my a11 chip. Switch to hardware decoding or keep the built in one neither helps

Question. Why some of the videos play minimized and some don’t?

Buffering issues. If you don’t have a fast processor long and large videos will tend to buffer

Not well integrated with the new Files App. Say you have a bunch of videos in the files app and you want to open the solely on this app. You have to select each video individually to transfer it.

how to control video playback speed?. I cant seem to find a way to change the video playback speed in the ipad app, even though it is one of the listed features.

The best Webdav supporting app on Appstore. running webdav server on my NAS and this app supports webdav even better than synology’s own native app. I just wish they make an Apple TV version of this app soon. 애플티비용 어플도 빨리 만들어주세요 ㅜㅜ

Please add font size adjustments for SRT.. The default font size of SRT is too large and there’s no way of changing it.

Google drive no longer compatible. Google drive is blocked, google will not authorize the release of data requested by nplayer any longer. Please fix.
