I love this player!. This thing does everything. Connect to cloud storage. Connect to network attached storage. Built in browser and PIP on the iPhone (which Apple would never let us do). Plays everything I throw at it. If I could give it 10 stars I would! Love it love it love it!

Can browser have desktop website opinion?. Just like the safari, we can switch “mobile mode web” or “ desktop mode web”

iPad keyboard can no longer go backward and forward. I love nPlayer and highly recommend it! But some recent update broke the iPad keyboard forward/backward integration. Please fix and use release notes to indicate you’ve fixed it. Since updates often break things I will not update unless I know an update contains a fix I care about.

 Developers Attention! BUG Report. I’m glad that your team have added new functions that allow us connect to a third monitor, play videos on the connected screen WHILE the iPad is SCREEN OFF. 1, I found a BUG that the external subtitles (the included subtitles also) don’t show up at all when the video is playing on the connected screen while the iPad is screen off (I have tested the internal subtitles and external ones, I have tested different subtitle formats, the bug still exist.) 2, Another bug I found that the font size of the subtitles on the connected screen don’t scale properly. I mean the font size are seemly fixed, it doesn’t scale to the connected screen size (I remembered that the subtitle scale on the connected screen works just fine, it’s two or three versions backwards I suppose). Really appreciate your hardworking on this amazing app. Hope you could fix those two bugs in time.

Absolutely The Best Caster!!!!!. I have literally tried every web caster the App Store offers and this one is hands down the best of the best!!!!! Simply download the videos you want to watch and then use the pop up player to be able to delete watched videos at the same time. Trust me, look no further this is the ultimate for night’s in bed having fun!!!!!

Great app, one really annoying bug [IMO]... When using Google Cast, if the audio isn’t stereo then there’s no sound at all; perhaps a HDMI device on a 5 or 7 speaker surround sound system to see it it would work with one of those. if someone else does and can verify for me, please give it a test. -- truthfully I wanted to give more stars, but mobile VLC casts it (without subtitles however) and Plex can (and it supports color coded .srt subtitle text files!).

after the update, this app is completely broke. I have been using this for a while and now with the update I can’t open any files. I can still navigate through the folders but no file can be open. I have an iphone xr. This is extremely frustrating that a player cant play any videos.

Doesn’t Support iXpand Flash Drive Go. This app is great. It supports the iXpand Flash Drive, but it doesn’t support the iXpand Flash Drive Go. Is it possible for you guys to make the app compatible with the iXpand Flash Drive Go?

Great app once again!. I like the UI and features of the app compared to other media player apps and have been using nPlayer for a long time. Edit: The SMB bug that was introduced with the iOS 11 support has been fixed very promptly. Kudos to developers!

Great. I love being able to watch videos over my local network, and download music without having to bother with iTunes.

No Longer Works. It used to be fantastic, but for the last few months the iPhone version has not been able to attach to my DLNA media server. The iPad version of the app still works on my tablet, but the iPhone version is dead. But fortunately, the VLC app works fine on my iPhone. It’s a shame, because the iPhone version worked perfectly for years.

Horrible customer support. I bought this app a few years back, because it was the only one that seemed to let me access my music collection through the Internet. All these years I have been trying to do just that. A couple of times their support did answer, without any results. I’ve changed several routers and NAS servers in the meantime, thinking that one of them might be the reason for my inability to use the app for the purpose I bought it. Now I have the latest and greatest NAS and router. Everything works on my network. Everything works with my Internet. I still cannot use this as an Internet music player. I sent them emails through their website, send them messages through their app. I never, never received any answers. They don’t give a crap about their customers. I will look for another app that does this, and I strongly encourage whomever is reading this to do the same because now the App Store atmosphere is a lot richer then back in the day when I bought this. Do not waste your time!

BEST OF THE BEST!!!!. I’ve tried numerous media players apps throughout the years and that includes the legendary VLC. None came close to NPlayer especially the Plus version which fully supports HDR and DTS. No other media apps can properly handle very high bit rate hdr streams without buffering every 20 sec or less. Best $8.99 I’ve ever spent. It’s worth every cent and then some. Nplayer Plus…….there is no substitute.

Problem with playback. The playback screen is gray, only picture-in-picture is okay, how to solve it

Simply the best. This is the best player I have ever seen on a mobile device. The UI, features, compatibility and simply everything in this app is super. It has a browser for the internet and a download manager as well. You can access your data on your NAS and home cloud. It has way more than what you might want from an impressive media player.

pip turns off when next video plays. Whenever using pip, it will get out of pip mode whenever the next video plays. I really love using pip while I play mobile games but it’s really annoying that I have to go back to the media player just to toggle pip mode again for the next video in my playlist. It would also be cool to be able to put a custom wallpaper for the menu screen. But this is the best media player I’ve used and it could be better.

After opening the video file in the SMB server. After opening the video file in the SMB server, clicking Add subtitle to load the external subtitles with different file names will cause a long time of stuttering, about 2-3 minutes, which will affect the use experience. The previous version did not have this phenomenon.

Can play almost anything. Patch notes incomplete. NPlayer is a fantastic piece of software. Easy to use, and can play anything I’ve thrown at it. So, why the loss of a star? Because of the REMOVAL of functionality without notification in the patch notes. Recently removed was the ability to use “Send Anywhere” for local content. However, that functionality was removed “due to partnership termination”, and the patch notes say nothing about users losing this.

Awesome app, well supported. This app rocks. There’s no video/audio it can’t play. It also has passcode protection. I can also display photos in slideshow or single. My one suggestion for a future feature, the ability to edit metadata manually.

Worth the spend.. I’ve been using this player for only 5 minutes and it’s already worth the spend for the feature set. It blows my mind how hard it is to find a decent player among dozens that are junk. You’ll love this! 9 bucks? TAKE. MY. MONEY.

Best Media Player. This is the most well thought out media player I’ve found. It allows high speed pip video playback. Zooming and panning of videos (two finger gestures). Anything I’ve needed it already had built in. Great app, well worth money.

Most powerful viewer, hindered by inability to launch via iOS “share“ function. I have asked the developers for years to add the ability to launch a video in nPlayer via the iOS share function (or at least offer to launch a URL on the clipboard when the app is opened). As they have not done this, trying to view something with in nPlayer takes many taps ☹️ Other than that, nPlayer is great and I have found nothing else with its level of customization. I do hope for that update soon!

Overheating. Can’t watch a video without overheating an iPhone 7 Plus. Because of the overheating I can’t use the app, though I would like to. Tried different settings in the app and in the iOS itself, but to no avail. Can’t figure out the reason. Sometimes it overheats, sometimes it doesn’t. App support is silent, no help there. Other player apps don’t cause overheating though. Go figure... Until the issue is fixed, I’ve switched to another player. Best regards

Wish there was a feature to forcefully delete a folder/file. I love this app. It’s amazing. You can get subtitles, brightness in left and volume in right, you can change the colors and all that beautiful stuff. What I’m having a problem is when I’m trying to delete a folder and it won’t let me. It says delete but it never deletes. I tried many File Managers on my PC and doesn’t work. Even iTunes can’t delete it. I used to have a hacked iPhone so it made my life easier and could erase anything easily. Please add a feature to cause a “erase all” in case a problem appears and a way to access what I have on this device on my PC so I can add movies/stuff from the internet!

good app. I use time capsule. When I logged on the account and passport it displayed no route to host. But in ipad is not like this. I don’t know why. I can’t use time capsule in iphone.

App crashing. The Nplayer app usually crashes if you are connected to the ixpand drive after a while when playing music So if you may include a fix for that in the next update

Easily the best media player I’ve tried. And I have tried around six others. The UI and the features of this app beat the others. It seems to have less of an issue with file formats and the audio is better in different speed settings. The only thing I need at this point is for the browser to update their ReCaptcha because I can’t log into one of my video accounts

external subtitles. everything is okay the main problem is when i add external subtitle or internal sub the screen will be freeze and i can't continue watching until i close the video and play it again and it happened when i am trying to skip in video with subtitles(i will update my review if it get fixed )

Good but some problems. I was looking for an app to stream even 4k live channels to my iPad from my Linux based reciever and also my media files in other devices through my local home network . No problem with streaming files from my Nas and my PC HDD but there are too many problems with streaming live TV channels ( upnp/dlna media server ) . By the way what « bad gateway 502 » means ?

1 thing.... Love the app. I stream from my local network to any number of devices in my home with it. However, I do have a request, which is that a toggle or switch be added to disallow deleting of files on a network source or share. I looked for such a setting and was unable to find one. If it is there, I welcome being corrected on this matter.

Plays things other Apps can’t. Great App, connects to my network drive easily and plays all my video files nicely. Well worth the price.

AirPods Pro 2 Spatial Audio Problem. There is something wrong about Spatial Audio. My AirPods Pro has personalized spatial audio configured but NOT enabled in AirPods - Accessibility - Follow iPhone. But the playing in nPlayer has spatial audio enabled very clearly. I have to open it and close it in Settings - AirPods - Accessibility - Follow iPhone every time when I open nPlayer. I don’t know the cause of this issue.

Fantastic app, great integration with servers. Excellent feature rich player, I tested a dozen or so different apps, before settling on this one. Using it to connect to my pc server, good customizable interface, watch most video formats, locates srt subs, allows you to change font, font size, lots of gesture controls that can be modified to perform other tasks. Bought the premium version, good price and no reason not to

App crashes during Screen Cast. App crashes during Screen Cast while trying to play the next video. Waiting for a fix on this issue for a long time. Tried it in several smart TV of Sony and Samsung. Same result (app crashes) every time.

Super App. This app has everything for a media player. But I’ve noticed when trying to lock a folder, the app Crashes. Other than that small bug, It is perfect. Every update is getting better.

Space between sbs 3D screen. I beg u to add a bit of space between the two screens in 3D mode for sbs 3D movies because I bought the app only to watch 3D movies with my vr headset. When I play 3D sbd movies the two split screens run into each other while putting the phone in vr headset. Please add this feature to give 5 stars. U can check moon vr player to know what I mean.

Awesome player, great network connectivity, but... It was 5 star not now. I bought this as it officially supported lic codecs. New version I keep getting packed frames , licensing issue and the video is choppy. This was not an issue on 3.2 . On iPad it is choppy 3.3 and other the video is fine 3.2.

I cannot restore purchase on my iPhone. I already purchased this app. I had it installed on both my iPad and iPhone but when I recently reset my iPhone, I am not able to restore the purchase because the app is not showing up in my purchased apps. I still have it installed on my iPad but it looks like I will have to pay for it again to get it to reinstall on my iPhone.I emailed customer support but nobody has responded. It’s a great app by the way! But apparently customer service is not the best. I’m still waiting after a couple of days to hear from them.

Performance issues and Can’t use custom fonts. Great app but recent updates have many problems. I experience some lag and performance issues especially when changing the subtitle size or seeking backward or forward a movie and Unlike the previous versions, this version is unable to use custom fonts that installed in ios (for subtitles). Those fonts are available on other apps. But not n-player. ios 14.2, iphone 8plus.

Performance Issue with Large Video Playback. I've been a long-time user of nPlayer and have generally enjoyed its features. However, I've come across a noticeable performance problem in the latest version. When attempting to play larger video files (around 70GB) through the SMB protocol, the playback experience is marred by frequent stutters and buffering. Curiously, the network speed during playback hovers at approximately 10MB/s, a fraction of the potential speed. What's more interesting is that when I opt to download the same video within the app, the download speed effortlessly reaches 79MB/s.

Terrible sound quality.. The sound quality of this app is even worse than default Apple Music app. Best I used is Flacbox but after last update they ruined this app and now I am looking for alternative and all these apps are just useless. Don’t waste your money and time for such incomplete and terrible apps. They are just mediocre quality apps.

Best Video Player than ever. For me, the most amazing thing is that its browser can extract the file package, which makes it possible to extract and play the subtitles from other places. Really great jobs!

DTS is essential - bring it back!. I find your player amongst the best in performance. It handles HD videos very well. I am seriously disappointed about the DTS removal. Please return it to the app, even if through In-app purchase would be acceptable. This audio codec is essential for many movies. I wanted to post this note on your web site, but unfortunately I can't navigate through the Korean text.

Must have app. There are few apps that are essential. If you like video (movies) and audio (music) and you have your own computerised collection, this program is exceptional and essential. The UI is very easy to use Plays almost everything (inc DTS, x265, FLAC) Plays files over wifi easily (eg from a NAS) Here are a few benefits I use. I play 1080p videos with DTS from my NAS. I play lossless music (FLAC) from my NAS (networked storage), I show subtitles for my songs in real-time using LRC files. I can adjust brightness and volume by sliding my finger up the screen during playback. I can skip forward or backward sliding my finger left to right This program is the Swiss Army knife of multimedia. If a format exists, nPlayer can play it. No special software is needed on your computer or NAS (eg. PLEX is not necessary). If your iPhone/iPad can’t play/display that multimedia, install this app and it is likely to solve your playback problems.

Brilliant app paired with xbmc. I was looking for an app to watch video from my xbmc library which is on a media server on my network. XBMC shares its library via upnp by default, and nPlayer supports this very we'll so it's perfect for that purpose. It has some handy gesture controls and the interface does the job well. I'm definitely happy with the purchase

Finally, OneDrive and Chromecast functionality all in one app. Finally an app on iOS that allows me to Chromecast my videos stored on OneDrive. I have been looking everywhere for this and nPlayer is the first one that actually delivers. Worth the small price tag for the functionality delivered.

I couldn’t restore my upgrade purchase. I really like this app and I usually used it. But after I changed my phone 5s to Xs all of the sudden I couldn’t restore my upgrade. My ipod was okay but I don’t know why I couldn’t on my phone. 😞

Polished and refined. I bought nPlayer before the recent major update and despite the exclusion of the DTS codec, I much prefer the current release over the last. From what I know, using the DTS requires the dev to pay a licensing fee so not including it for current users is understandable. I also appreciate that they didn't make a "nPlayer 2" and charge everyone full price for it. The design of the current release is more refined and inline with iOS 8/9. The app is also very customisable. I tried Infuse and I prefer nPlayer overall. Infuse might be slightly more polished but it lacks customisability and the ability to view photos.

Pip windows not good. This app pip windows function is not good, every time I’m watch video change to pip windows mode will reload video and new update make worst I watching a video on the Google Drive and try to using the PIP window mowed they reload one video more than 80time and my Google Drive is lock for 24 hours so I couldn’t using anything. Please fix this problem immediate I can change back my rate please.

Good, but doesn’t display music tags?. For audio I don’t see anyway for it to display the ID tags for my library (mostly lossless .m4a). It only shows the filename and not the title/artist/album etc. any way to display those? For video though this is definitely the best player out there.

Just what I have been looking for. I have had endless trouble getting some video files to play via WebDAV, until I found this app. Still playing but I'm impressed with what I have seen so far!

Flawed Update. This was the best media player app, until the latest update

The best network app ever but.... Downloaded at least 20 apps and this only works. Plays all video smoothly and quickly with a nice interface before the upgrade. Please add option for classic menu and Should reduce IAP price. DTS say $0.99 and chrome cast $0.99 Would be good if the could add a network health monitoring bar to troubleshoot and advance menu to show more detail when scanning network.

Was good now not worth buying. I loved this media player for accessing my videos. Now they have removed DTS (which worked when I bought it) in a recent upgrade most files won't play with sound. When companies remove features in an upgrade it's sneaky and a full or partial refund should be offered. DON'T BUY THIS UNTIL DTS is restored.

Very good app. I need a player which can stream video by SMB and support multi-language subtitles. This is the right player for me. Not only support AC3 audio, it even has a Dolby mobile effect. It would be a perfect player if it supports DTS audio.

Wifi transfer and Send/Receive options gone. As subject describes, the wifi transfers along with Send/Receive are no longer appearing on my app. I am connected to Wi-Fi.

Greedy. Purchased this app a while back for $6.49. Application updated and reverted my paid version to free version. Very greedy. It's a slap in the face. You may be aware that the in-app purchases does not support family sharing. I seems that if I purchase it again then when they release an update I need to buy it again. Don't purchase this app. If you need DTS better look at other apps like INFUSE.

All I want except DTS. Plays fairly high quality MKV (and every format/container) I have tried) files over LAN/uPnP from XBMC to my iPad mini flawlessly as long as the audio is not DTS. This is a sad codec to be missing as it means most of my media library is playing back with no sound. However, if DTS support is not a must then this app is worth every cent.

The best money I've spent here. I have to say that this app just works. I have a NAS and it gets the files and steams them. I can say it plays any file I throw at it and resumes playback after closing, and is stable, and doesn't lag and I can download files and whole folders onto the iPad for offline viewing. It's an amazing app. The developers must be so proud. Just got the dts upgrade, amazing!

Mkv audio not supported. When i play an MKV video file, i get a message: audio codec not supported,. Then plays video without audio, please fix this bug. I have a big collection of mkv files. Since my webdav doesnt play them, i searched and found nplayer saying plays ALL formats. Also it doesn't handle accounts on webdav. Only displays the ones related to "guest" acoount!!!! Weird.

HDR works. My go to app for playing video files. Plays just about everything and the kitchen sink. Unlike some other apps, HDR works great (assuming you have a compatible devices ie. iPhone XS, 11).

To Respect Developer,. One bug need to be fixed as soon as possible: subtitles, which loaded from its own subtitle file cannot display when first time playing. It will display when using resuming function at the same video file.

Best app for streaming HD video. I use this app in conjunction with the apple Lightning to HDMI adapter. Not only does it work flawlessly, it plays every file I throw at it. And it's all streamed from a NAS connected to the network. Please don't ever drop support for this app!

Best video player app I can found now (2018). Can I request a sleep timer feature where the player will automatically pause after playing the next n minutes?

A bad update!. This app used to be perfect! Simple, fast, and played everything i threw at it. Now it is more complex, and took forever to load my videos. What do you think you are doing developer?! Seriously… Please go back to the previous version and start again!

nPlayer. I have spent many hours looking for an all-in-one video player that can play everything and stream wirelessly from a wireless hard disk. I have tried (and paid for) many different apps and this is by far the best. It has a beautiful simple interface and just works. Congrats to the developer - great work. The hunt is over!

Question. Can’t see or play song from Apple Music, but able to see the name of playlists and albums, is this intended or a bug?

Brilliant. I have tried so many different DLNA based players but everyone from free to ones costing over US$12 have failed due to codec issues. This player is the ONLY one to play files all others crashed on. No lag audio in sync so well worth the money

Wifi transfer. The function of wifi transferring data has disappeared and this function is essential.

Does everything!. Took a few goes to get avis working, not entirely sure why but most of my files are mkv, this is the only app that streams both the video and the sound for mkvs, mp4s, and avis and does it quickly.

Happy to pay 4 DTS.... So, 4.99 later and I can now play absolutely everything I have stored on my NAS. Don't mind the interface at all... I think I actually prefer it over the old look. Only slight issue I have is my Bluray rips are a little bit jittery now (played nice & smooth with old version, though no DTS of course ). Overall, a great app... Probably the best you'll find for streaming movies over your home network... Also plays WTV files, if you happen to use Windows Media Centre... and works well with my HDHomerun.

Fantastic App. It does everything you need in a media player app and more. I can’t fault it. It makes the iPad and iPhone really usable for my media data. I hope it continues to stay just as it is.

Best player on market. While 3.0 brought some controversial ui changes, all is fixed with 3.1 bringing Classic ui of v2.x and dts decoding. Best player on the market by far and I've tried every single one.

Subtitles don't work. Just upgraded to version 3 and although subs are turned on, they don't show. Very disappointed.

V1.3 works for me. All iPhone media players have there pros and cons, but so far I like this one the best... Very few video stutters or pauses... Finds my dlna mythtv server:) and quick streaming via a copied URL works very well!

Simply the best video player for iOS. It does exactly what it claims. Plays anything, over the network or downloaded. Great quality video and audio with heaps of options and configuration. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Need more gestures. Love the app, a lot better then VLC but need more gestures

Deinterlacing?. This is a fantastic app. I'd just like to request better handling of interlaced content. I know there is an option to do that, but it isn't very effective. Great app though!

Only player with AC3 support. Other players have become useless after AC3 support was removed from most of them. This is the only player which seems to have actually licenced AC3. It's also got the best UI and performance of all the numerous players I've tried. The only problem I find is that on some videos, the audio distorts when you try to play a video file with the screen off. Fortunately it has great gestures for locking the screen and bringing the brightness right down, which has a similar effect on battery life.

Best video app. Tried a lot of video apps, this is the best by a long way. Easy to use and play all videos I have tried. Great wireless transfer of videos.

Great support for network and embedded video in web pages!. Hi guys. Thanks, this is the app I was looking for. I use it to get my lecture recordings from my university website. The built in browser isn't fantastic, but it lets me navigate to the recordings I need and download them locally! I also have MythTV running on a desktop server to do my TV recording and play back. I just tested this the other day with nPlayer and it worked perfectly with the MythTV UPnP and allowed me to watch my TV recordings! Great work.. Thanks.

Playback issues.. Since latest update no longer plays MKV files. Still supports them, just won't progress, able to slide position bar and see frames of video, but will not play.

What the hell has happened. This was a great APP up until the last update, and I even spent an additional $5 to support and think it will work. It doesn't work anymore.... What hell has happened. Can I please get a full refund please or at least fix it !!!!!😡 Dear support Ever since nplayer has upgraded its version I can't seem to get my wireless seagate Harddrive to connect to nplayer any longer, therefore cannot see any of the movie files and cannot play. When I select the seagate Harddrive. 'Seagate Wireless NA326XX9' SFTP in nplayer through Network options, a dialog box opens saying 'unknown host' Previously you use to just connect seagate wifi through settings, then open nplayer, the select network, then select yellow folder SMB/CIFS, then select WIRELESS-PLSXX9, then select Public-01 And from there all folders and files in the wireless seagate would be presented for you to open as you pleased. The issue seems to be the difference between SMB/CIFS that use to auto select the Harddrive and files to now it defaulting to SFTP. When I have tried to edit The 'Host' field in SMB/CIFS I can seem to get the source right as it comes up With 'No Such File or Firectory' I don't what to do. What use to automatically come up would work and now it doesn't Can you help Or at least advise how to get back the old version

Do not waste your money. A couple of years ago, I purchased the app. A year or so ago I had to pay for an upgrade to get a new look and some features I wasn't aware of. Now I am being told to pay another $5.49 for DTS playback which worked before. This is becoming one expensive app. I moved to VLC player which does the same for me, but it's really free.

Airplay issue. Latest update fix issue with AirPlay. However, if screen mirror is used for mkv movie, the resolution is smaller than the actual tv. If press home button and then switch back to the app, the movie is now shown full screen. Please fix this issue. This update broke Airplay capability. Pls fix it. Thanks

The best player you could find. I’m a tech guy, I always trying to find the cheapest way to use technology to the must this app can act like a 4K apple tv for you if you have a smart tv. Highly recommended

Terrible update. UI is clean and cool looking but far from functional. I could live with that. What I can't live with it, is that I have to pay again to access features that I had before.

Powerful and simple. I have a NAS run by RAVpower filehub, this is the only player that supports streaming over SMB from it on iOS. I tried all other players and none of them worked. This is simple yet powerful. Good job!!!!

Better than my other players. Best player I found to play h264 video files over Samba connection. It's better than AcePlayer and OPlayerHD: much smoother and takes less time to start. Makes my iPad 2 feel faster. Only player I found capable to play high bitrate h264 video files without frame skipping on my old iPad 2. Saves me from buying a new iPad.

Needs improvements. I think one of the best video/ music players for iOS, but still needs more improvements with its music player; also the bottom icons like setting icon is very tiny and small and it is really hard to see it and there is no option to enlarge those icons! I will update this review and waiting for updates and improvements!

Was good. Ruined by greedy devs. This was the best video player on the App Store. But now, after paying like $10 for this app, an update made "dts" features behind another $5 paywall. The previous version had this working no problem. Classic bait and switch. Do not purchase. This is a warning.

Lucas Jeffrey. It's VLC for iOS with support for servers and cloud services of all types. You can stream beautifully and also download, for offline use or for airplay mirroring to a television (for best performance). It's a hard-earned dime to me. Hats off

Excellent Move Player. I am a long time VLC Player user, but when I recently replaced my laptop with an iPad Pro I had a lot of problems with the VLC app not playing sound on my MKV format movies. nPlayer has no problems playing any of my movies, and it has all of the features that I always liked about VLC in it as well.

AWESOME SIMPLY AWESOME. My music collection is extremely large (20Tb plus) over 25 or so clouds. My collection contains pretty much every known file format in a wide range of audio quality. This player does EXACTLY what I want it to do. The sound is crystal clear, volume can be controlled and IT WORKS!!!! I have tried virtually every app on the store since my previous app ran into serious issues. This app BLOWS AWAY everything else in the store. I just wish I found it $50 ago. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED One request: gapless playback for live albums would be a nice add on.

#1. I've tried quite a few media player apps for downloaded video, and network play and nPlayer has been top of the heap for a while! Right codec support, clean interface and most importantly smooth playback across file types and sizes. Finally, as another review pointed out, it’s not exactly clear who is providing product support, but I posted a product suggestion to the online forum space I found for the app, and that change has made it into recent versions. Whether a direct response to my comment, or simply an example of the developers continuing to improve this app, it’s a good sign!

Just Perfect. Well the on screen UI during video play back could be laid out with a cleaner look. But I can't complain, because it does what vlc and other media players failed to do. Charge the user to license Dolby DTS, AC3 for clear and perfect play back. I think most users would spend a few extra bucks because it means unlike vlc and the rest Apple will not force the developers to remove the feature if the app is licensed to use Dolby filters. I can't wait to play movies on the iPad Pro. Take my money redesign the app for the iPad pro.

Disappointing. Long time user. Had to pay again to get Chromecast support (which I guess I'm ok with) but I have been unable to AVI file types to work. I can't say I'm immediately a fan of the new interface either, but I'm sure I will once I get used to it.

Ugly player. This could be the best music app, but the player is ugly, specially on full screen mode. Also, you should have the option to save the settings in a file on Dropbox for instance.

Double dipping. I paid for this app to be able to play anything I wanted without being restricted by Apple but now with this new update I have to pay again to get the full feature set. This is so lame.

The best. It does it all. SMB, FTP, Dropbox, etc. Highly customizable and works great. I've used many others but this one stands out.

Great update!!!. I made a review about the horrible 3.0 white themes do now and the new update fixes all of that. And the resume feature. I'd like to see the time left like before, but thats ok. Thanks for the best player ever. Maybe make the audio delay quicker to get too. I have to got to -45 a lot because of my Bluetooth headset.

Sorting is still broken. Sorting issues haven’t been resolved unfortunately! If you have any video list it will play it in this order: 1,10,100,101,102.......11,112,113.........12,121,122,....13 You get the point. Very frustrating for an easy fix. Broken and reported since version 3.11.5 but no support.

I completely agree with the last review.. See below for updates (currently 3.8.3 ... Things changed) This app handles so many file types. It will even background play video files (great for music videos and stand up comedies). It communicates well with the network shares (via SMB / WebDAV). Worth the $5 if you own an iOS device. UPDATE (3.8.3): So when playing audio via Bluetooth in the car, the music note randomly disappears (it's not specific to any audio file, sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't) and if you lock the phone, it struggles to unlock when nplayer is playing. Major bug that needs to be addressed. (On iOS 10.3.3). -- UPDATE: 3.2 is out. One major annoyance is the new seeking. At first I noticed a subtle change in the way the swipe was seeking in my audio files. Didn't think much of it. But then I tried to seek like I used to over Bluetooth (car system) and it's doing an old behaviour. It get stuck at 10x (going forward or reverse) and I have to unlock the phone and press the tiny 1x button to get it back to normal lol (not safe when driving) This was not the case in the last version and I believe this issue was fixed in the past. Please please please fix. The rest is very very nice (as far as the new update goes). Highlighting the last played track is actually insanely handy. Still testing other features. -- UPDATE (3.0 review): The interface is very different, but all the functionality remains. A few new things to get used to (like double tapping the screen to browse while background playing). The web interface is really nice. You can finally make new folders in the web interface (guarantee this was a request of many). Still playing around with it, but I really like this update! You can also in-app purchase the DTS audio support / chromecast support all for one purchase which is cool). Also, it seems that you can actually upload to the web interface while the app is backgrounded! I have to test WebDAV next!!

Gesture bugs in iOS 15. While it’s not the developers fault Apple messed with the gestures in iOS 15 that caused this bug, that being said it would be very nice to get some support in solving this problem I’m about to describe. If your using the app with a mouse you have to scroll through content in list view, if you have it in icon view the mouse won’t let you select videos properly. This is the best media player I’ve ever used on iOS in over 10 years I’ve been using the devices. It’s especially great if you use the iXpand, it’s the only App that makes playing audio or any other type of media from the iXpand flash drive practical in my opinion. it’s a great 5 star app, I’m just giving it a low rating for now to bring attention to this bug. I’ll give this app the review it deserves by highlighting it’s many useful features, and take this review down once the bug is fixed. It’s been over a year since this developer polished up this app with an update, he created something special here hopefully he’ll come back and help keep it running smoothly for a few more years. Crashing in the last update, there is a bug in the last update that causes the app to crash immediately upon opening when using the iXpand. P.S. I know it’s a long shot at this point, but if the developer could make a sleep timer for when the user is listening to audiobooks or podcasts before going to bed, that would make a big difference for me and I’m sure some other users as well.

Solid, full featured, plays all the formats I need. I’m a long time user of nPlayer since iOS5 or so and it’s never let me down. Every video I throw at it plays flawlessly. It’s clean interface packs a ton of features from configurable swipe gestures, the ability to pull down subtitles videos, and variable speed playback to name a few. It’s support for DLNA and Samba shares makes this a breeze to pair with a file server and either stream or download videos for offline viewing. It’s a worthwhile purchase!

dlna search longer works. I loved this app till I updated and purchased the in new app purchase. Now dlna search no longer finds my dlna server on my network. To replicate delete your saved dlna host and then try to find.. Nothing with show up. Please fix asap.

Disastrous update. I used to use nPlayer as an audiobook player, since it was better than any audiobook app at remembering my spot, and allowing me to move forward and backward using gestures. Today's update replaced the full-featured audio player with a stupid little "miniplayer" thingy that makes it does not support bookmarks or gestures, and that makes it impossible to effectively navigate through an audio file due to the tiny size of the position control. This change rendered a once great app essentially useless.

Almost perfect. One of the few apps that has great security features. Would’ve been the perfect app if videos didn’t constantly buffer.

Always looking for more money. I paid for their Dolby Digital decoding, which is needed for TV shows. Now they want more for DTS decoding, which I believe they used to do for free. If DTS decoding is what you want, get VLC which does it for free.

Must install. This is the best way to watch ur own videos on iphone.

Carplay missing. Transitioned to Evermusic since nPlayer does not have Apple’s Carplay, and has fewer cloud platform connect options. I particularly miss not having access to MEGA.

Terrible app ever, waste of money. I really don't know since when this app removes the function of WiFi transfer from browsers!!! Also, because the former reason, I have to watch videos by SMB tunnels. But you know what, every time I want to download vids from SMB, this app just crashes out! I really regret buying this trash.

Great app, fits its niche great.. Will change to 5 stars if they add a couple of features: Add a filter to hide viewed videos, so I can effectively slowly work through a large folder of videos over time. Add the ability to reset a specific folder’s view stats. Don’t know if this is possible with SMB/CFS, but I’d kill to be able to search subfolders.

Love app, but update causes crashing. The newest update introduced a bug that keeps crashing the app. Before then I never had any issues with it.

New update broken 10/25. Updated and now all the videos rotate extremely slow and backing out of a video takes 3 seconds. It's like there's a giant lag. I recommend NOT updating until this is fixed.
