Changing server doesn't work. Changed server to my internal DNS proxy. Sent request. Timeout. Works fine if I want to use the Auto (Google) DNS server. Why does the app need access to anything other than the DNS server?

VPN connection doesn’t use assigned DNS servers?. When I use other apps to do a lookup, they seem to be able to use the DNS servers assigned by my client VPN connection. When I do so with this app, even using an FQDN, it doesn’t resolve.

Crashy. Ran a few times, then crashed. Wouldn't uncrash after a reboot. Maybe this is designed behavior to sell the plus version, but if so, it should instead display a dialog explaining it. As is, it makes the Plus version appear crashy. When explicitly pointed at the DNS server on the VPN, ignored it.

Useful tool. Overall looks quite nice. Missing the ability to save servers to a list so they can be easily selected. I'm also unable to get it to work with my router's DNS, or the ISP's server, I wonder if it's requiring authentication or something. The default of 8.8.8.8 works fine, though.

Won't start - crashes every time. Used to work well, but no longer works - crashes on every launch. Upon startup it just goes right back to the home screen. Please fix!

Issue with paid version. There seems to be a history with the paid version where it crashes when the ad supported version did not. I like others paid for the pro version to support the developer. Now the app doesn’t work.

Sweet!. Fantastic when you're diagnosing an internal DNS server and don't have a workstation in front of you.

Must Have App. For anyone managing domain names this is a must have app! Once you start using it you can't live without it.

Like dns dig reincarnated. This app is easier to use than nslookup on my desktop and actually gives more extensive results. I sometimes prefer it to any of my server or workstation dns tools.

Used to work well. Now it doesn’t. It used to work well, but now it always queries internet dns servers (usually google dns) and completely ignores any dns server that I specify in settings. I need an app to verify dns on a local, private network. This app is completely useless now that it ignores and refuses to contact my local LAN DNS servers. Even internet DNS responses often fail to display proper A record information

Horrible! Avoid it’s a ripoff!!!!. Upgraded to pro edition and now it will not start! I want my money back!!!!!!

Great app. Very useful. Although the forced splash screen at the beginning is annoying, especially when you're switching between this app and Safari.

No longer works.. As per other reviews it only uses 8.8.8.8 and ignores the phones DNS settings so it’s not helpful to really test DNS the phone is using. Also it never returns and zone records at all for any lookup.

Exactly what I needed.. App does exactly what you would expect from an nslookup app. Exactly what I needed to make the iPad a more complete network admin appliance.

Was working until the last update. Worked great.. Then I put in the latest update. I see the logo and then it bombs every time.

Works perfect. Have not had any problems like mentioned by others. Works every time. Have been using it at home to verify changes made earlier at work. It's quick and easy.

Doesn't work. Absolute fail

Was useful, but now….. Worked great the first couple of times I used it. Just when I was ready to pull the trigger and buy the full version it started crashing on “every” launch. Reboot, no help. Uninstall/Reinstall, worked for maybe three launches then crashes again. Was a promising app. I’m willing to give it another shot whenever it returns from crash city.

Don’t go pro - was a good app. It was a perfect app no issues at all. I wanted to support the dev so I pay the $2 the app crashed after removing the adds and will not start. Deleted the app and reinstalled no change. I hope it is fixed in an update.

Doesn’t do what it says. This app didn’t do a nslookup that I successfully performed on a Linux box. Plus you get ads. Don’t see the point of having this app on my iPad.

Doesn’t work.. Picks up some sites and not others.

not helpful. it is clunky in that it does not return what you ask for. i tell it to get mx records and it just shows soa record. i ask it to force authoritative but that does not work and you have to find the soa yourself then program that in for server. not really useful and will be deleted from my iPad.

Full version does not run in iOS 12. Worked fine till I paid. Now it crashes on load making it a total waste.

Exactly what I wanted. I needed a quick app that would let me run nslookup against a specific server. This does exactly that. Thanks guys.

I paid for PRO version: it’s a PRO CRASH FIASCO!!!. The free version was Ok, but after I upgraded to PRO version, it crashes within a second after starting the app. I only get a glimpse of the opening page and then it crashes. Don’t waste your money.

Stopped working. Stopped working recently. With the message “A failure happened at the server.”

Junk. This application has never worked properly on my iPhone 4 running IOS 5.1 and now my iPhone 5 running IOS 6. It works one time then never runs after that. It just crashes. I tried closing it out of running tasks but I get the same thing. I tried wireless, without wireless, rebooting phone, etc but it still crashes. I can only get it to work again by uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Great tool. It's so much fun to check your stuff right from your Iphone. Good job

Not a bad start ... !. Like it. Would suggest a couple of enhancements though. (1) some lookups return TXT records, some don't. Same with CNAME records. Maybe a bug? (2) Pull IPv6 information in addition to v4 info. (3) Offer option to retrieve domain name registration info, or ARIN info on the IP addresses returned. Overall a promising app, however.

Nice app... But.... This is a nice app with promise. There are only a couple of things that I see missing in this app. 1) The ability to copy results (especially IPv6 addresses). I know you can email the results to yourself, but that is cumbersome, if you just can't to copy and address or two. Being able to tap and hold on a result to copy the address would alone move this to four stars for me. 2) Server selection. By default, the app chooses a server to query. This is fine. It also lets you manually type in an address in the options. This is also good. But what I would like to see is a drop-down menu that let's you choose from well-know DNS servers such as Google, OpenDNS, etc, as well as the local DNS server for your network. 3) While it is very nice that you can tap on a CNAME record and drill down to have it resolve that host, this could become a 5-star app if it allowed you to click on an A or AAAA record, and get even more info about that IP range, etc.

Broken. Works for a few lookups, then won't even start. Fails back to the home screen. Requires removing from device and re-installing with sync.

Same ol story. I cannot in good faith give this a good review. It worked good for the one time it ran on my ipad 2. But it only ran once. The moment I changed to a different app it stopped working. If this is how the pro app would work there is no chance of me buying it. Or for that matter, anything else from this developer.

Not Bad. It does the job. I wish they would fix one simple issue. Under "Options" if the name sever is left blank, it should behave the same as if "Auto" was selected. Sometimes I set the name server to a specific machine name and after I'm finished I have to remember to change it back to the "Auto" value. If blank "Auto" should be implied.

Works as advertised.. Simple tool for nslookup on the iPhone. Completes the task to standard with a nice basic set of options.

Very handy. Does exactly what's needed, with a decent GUI and ability to drill down to obtain further info. Great for debugging DNS issues!

Don’t upgrade to Pro. After upgrading to Pro, app doesn’t start for me either. Reinstall doesn’t help. Don’t buy!

Don't upgrade to Pro. Just spent $3 to upgrade to the pro version and now the app doesn't open. Uninstall and reinstall makes no difference. No support on the Web site except a Disqus board which they don't bother answering. Complete rip off. Avoid this app until they fix the money-stealing bug.

Basic but reliable. Works as you would expect.

Very Handy. This app is great if you ever need to perform a nslookup query while on the road. It beats trying to use a non mobile friendly website to do the lookup. It's GUI is nicer than a command line output.

Useless for me. Public resolvers only. Cannot query local servers so the answer may well be different from what your app gets. Changing query type is tedious.

Don’t pay for pro!!!!. App was working great, so wanted to it to have adds removed. Paid. Now app won’t launch at all. Fix this bug or refund me.

Tools-to-Go. If you are a network admin, this App is handy when on the road, and even in house, as it's search options are very usefull.

Dig on iPhone. It's like dig on iPhone with a nice interface. Good job, keep it up.

Nslookup. Awesome tool

Nice app but hit a bug. Modern look and feel, but reported a Server Error for the server name I wanted to test. I also could not find how to report the error. If the author contacts me I can provide the details.

Broken on iOS 6.1. I use this app regularly as a web host administrator. Recent iOS 6.1 update breaks the app. Won't load past the splash screen.

Makes my job really easy.. When you need to check DNS records in a flash. This is your app! It's quicker than the actual NSlookup in the command prompt!

Worked really well except. This app worked really well, well enough that I decided to buy the full version... Then it didn't work at all... I paid $2.79 for the upgrade and it is now telling me to pay another $2.79. I have tried to reach out to the designer but I can't find their contact information anywhere including their website. I am hoping they see this and reach out to me
