Useful tool in my in my toolbox.. I really appreciate the usefulness of MMR. I can record through Audiobus without a hitch (no lag or glitch). I can't say the same about the GarageBand app. I can copy/ paste from AudioShare using CopyPaste 2.0. I can trim my audio loops, add fade in/out, add effects and paste it back into AudioShare for use with Retronyms products (Tabletop, IMPC). My only con is that it is not 100% intuitive. If you are a pro then you will know which signposts to look for and you won't get lost. -Cheers

MIDI doesn't function properly. I really like the software. I have friends who use it and it works well for them. For some reason mine will not function properly. I even reinstalled it, but still it doesn't work properly. It's when I try to use IAA mostly, iFretless apps and such, but it has been frustrating. I've been back and forth on this and can't overcome it. So, I'm stuck with GarageBand until I can resolve it. Three stars for now, If it would start working I would rate it higher. Perhaps some better video tutorials that cover more issues?

Weird glitch, Freezing Track. I froze a track and the prompt saying "freezing track, please wait" froze on my track view. It just stayed there. I could work in the view, but the warning stayed permanently. I deleted the app and am re-downloading the app, hopefully it doesn't happen again.

No problem. This app works great, dang near a full blown daw, u wont do feature length movie with it, but it'll sure do a scene, and an album, and a demo, no problem. Beautifully intuitive touch based recording. Thanks!

Amazing DAW for an unbeatable price. After having examined several alternatives, I'm sold on Meteor. GarageBand is intuitive but doesn't have the same great stock instruments. Beatmaker And the others are weak on audio processing. Meteor offers the best of all worlds - and their tech support is on point and quick on their feet. I experienced one metronome related bug which they helped me through and it never came back again. The learning curve isn't flat but isn't steep either. After a few hours with it, you'll get the hang of it. It's a DAW, after all. MIDI keyboard integration is spot on as well. I use this when I need to make high quality demos on the go - Can't recommend this enough. If you're looking for something more serious than GarageBand but still affordable, easy to learn and intuitive to work with - get this DAW!

One of the Best. This is one of the top 3 DAWs, and probably the MOST complete and efficient of the three (between Auria, Cubasis, and Meteor). Easy to use too! As of this writing, Auria doesn't have MIDI sequencing, Cubasis doesn't have automation, neither of them have a sampler (Meteor has one). Meteor will even work with smaller projects on an iPad 1--the minimum for the others is an iPad 2. Over all, it is a very complete, efficient DAW.

Top Class Studio. After I installed the app I had a problem because of low memory on my unit. I emailed the developer and they responded ASAP with a resolution: You must have at least 1GB free space in some cases for the add on additional content to load due to memory check; although the app only requires around 200MB. So after I made memory space and reinstalled the application it worked. Now that the problem was solved and working with music production on this software has begun I see it's the most all-in-one on the iPad market to date! I purchased all the upgrades to complete the package, being able to work with video for sync production makes it powerful and something highly needed. I will continue to support the teams work and look to see more enhancements and apps to purchase from them. Hope to see expanded sample paks, synthesizer upgrades, and Bluetooth connectivity. Thanks for the powerful design to iPad class music production!

Does not play well with others. I'm an audio professional, so the high price doesn't bother me. However the inability to easily move sound between this app and the others is extremely disappointing. Meteor doesn't appear in the OPEN IN dialog of other apps. Nor is it easy to send final product where needed. You must use iTunes to get external (professionally recorded) audio into it's "pool.". There is no way to work independent and remotely. For an audio pro...this is a deal killer. If you're going to create music or podcast by recording audio directly in the iPad, this app may be a good choice. But if you're working with stems or multi source audio...it's requires you to be tethered to the computer - which in my case is running ProTools. Thus, I don't need the iPad when I have the computer. Also is somewhat buggy, with screen orientation in lock mode. For $20 I expected a far more complete DAW. If it worked more like a multitrack version of TwistedWave for iPad, it would have more useful for collaborating. In fact, for those users, TwistedWave output to GarageBand might be a better choice.

Almost perfect. I love the app...have a mic stand for the iPad and everything! But I was tweaking the audio on the second of two tracks, and when I attempted to change the pitch through the effects dialog on the second track, it crashed out. Even with auto save on, I lost a good hour's worth of work; don't trust the auto save! Otherwise, unless messing with effects becomes a common crash inducer, it's pretty solid for an iPad app. Even the inboard mic works well with it! If I can go a while without losing more content, it will get 5 stars. Time will tell.

Can finally make some music. Ever since I got my iPad, I have wanted it to be the brains of my studio. This DAW is the first to make that truly, smoothly possible. The ease of "printing" submixes makes the 12-track limitation viable if you keep separate projects for your stems like drums, guitar, vocals and a master file for joining them all together.

Waste of Money. You can't import files into this app, nor can you "open in" another app, even though the option is clearly there. When you tap the selected file, it doesn't give you a list of apps in which to open, it just closes. The only thing you can do is plug in your iPad to your computer, and then download the file onto your desktop, then transfer it to the app you want, etc...takes away from the whole idea of having a portable DAW. I'm might as well just use my computer, it then I have a ton of other audio and video processing apps that I'd like to transfer my files. I'd give it five stars for all the other functions, but this is pretty big. It's like saying I really like my new Porsche but if they could just give me a fourth wheel. Otherwise, your Porsche sits in the garage and looks pretty.

Great update. Love the new update, particularly the recording loop mode, which allows up to 6 recordings on a loop so you can choose the best take. Also best DAW for ipad 2. Minimal glitches and crashes. However, I have problems applying effects sometimes on aux send . The effects selected just dont seem to take on the selected track and bus.

Does Everything I need it to do. I am a long time cubase desktop user. It was a breeze going from that to this. At does just about everything you would want to track record to do. I use this with my rig pro duo with no problems. People are amazed at the sound quality of the recordings when I tell them my set up. My only issue is that the dropbox integration seems not to work. If it did, this will be a five star review.

One of the top 2. 1. Cubasis 2. Meteor Out of the ones I have paid for the two above are my top two. It is nice, but many additions should be included(mainly the effects) in my opinion. It is nice though, I just find myself using cubasis more. Perhaps later I may get the midi addon, just it's a bit pricey sense I have it on cubasis.

It can become the Protools of the iWorld...but..... I've been looking for pro editing capabilities for my iPad, let's face it this devices are becoming the next gen alternatives for on the go people. The iPad makes my laptop old fashion, heavy and not portable enough. That's why I need to work on my iPad. This app is by far the most professional one ever. It feels good, and it delivers but have one ugly error: audio importing. I mean let me use audiocopy, or import from email... Or just let me browse anywhere to get my audio in. With a "Open with" option you will have a 5 star rating in no time! But right now most of us need to work with the iPad and a mic input. Dont let us run to the Mac or PC just to insert an audio! Learn from Music Studio an app I bought when someone told me it let you import audio the easy way. Do the update and I will erase Music Studio from my iPad.

Great Tool!. I've only been using Meteor for a short time and I love it already. I have limited skills with PC recording especially using Midi, but Thanks to using Meteor I am undertaking and learning more each day.

Exceptional Software. I've been using 4Pockets apps since I first discovered Pocket RTA for the Pocket PC around 10 years ago. Consistent quality and support over the years. When I first purchased an IPad I went exploring for music creation apps. First stop was Garage Band which was great but I quickly outgrew it. Upon looking for a replacement I found Meteor and it has been my goto app ever since. Previous recording tools forced me to conform my creative ideas to the capabilities of the software. Meteor however has supported most any thing I've ever attempted. Recently purchased the MIDI upgrade that is allowing me to do work inside if Meteor which required outside apps before. Newest surprise has AudioBus support. If your looking for a top shelf recording and production app, give Meteor a try. I believe it will continue to increase in value over time. Thanks 4pockets.

I'm SOOO Glad I bought it.. So far I'm REALLY happy with Meteor. I had been waiting very impatiently for it's release. To date I have refrained from buying any of the multitrack editors because they all seemed a little more loop based or REALLY lacked features I needed. This one really gives me the feel and function of a desktop DAW but on he iPad. I think the price is a good price and while I was bummed that it didn't come with many FX by default I think that doing the in App purchase helps keep the initial cost down while giving you the option to add the effects you need and want. Basically I have been looking and waiting for a DAW that will let me bring the sounds and sequences from OTHER iPad and iPhone apps and build them into finished pieces in one place. I think Meteor will do that for me at least.

Buyers Beware!. This Daw has a good concept but it suffers from major bugs! I constantly have audio disappearing and or moving around on the timeline! Many Features don't work correctly and you feel like your going 1 step forward then 3 steps back! Oh yeah, good luck getting the editing to work right too! Also get ready to fork over some $ in the online store for things that others daws give to you. Major disappointment and still 0 support from 4pockets. Save yourself some headache and stay away from this nightmare!

Nice Daw. This is a great daw app that has many features and offers almost everything you need an a mobile app. I would like to see multiple track recording, but other then that its very useful. I own all of the daw apps and this one is definitely in the to p 5 list.

It's Getting There. I am surprised other, more established, DAWs haven't found their way onto an iPad yet...so kudos for this company for boldly stepping forward into this and blazing the trail! That being said, this is working decently, when I emailed them about adding midi cycle recording functionality, they replied and it was implemented (I do remember waiting quite some time for it though)...my problem has now been the seemingly sluggish midi cycle recording execution...I just feels to me that it's not tight, and when I quantize it doesn't snap as I am used to (that being in Logic) I REALLY would like to pound out some serious stuff on this, but it's just not there yet...I am anticipating the goods with future updates!

Wow! What an Update. The indignant detractors may put their offense to rest. This app will record Simultaneous Multitrack. For the price, you won't go wrong with this choice of DAW, either as your only DAW or as a compliment to another. I own just about every iOS DAW. I've tried them all, and each one has it's strengths and weaknesses. This one is useful for tasks that can't be accomplished readily in any other.

A Good Start. I have used other multitrack recording apps on the iPad but this one has the correct features along with several useful effects. It's laid out like a traditional DAW so it's easy to use. This is a good start but it's buggy and unreliable and crashes often. The latest update says that you can split an incoming stereo signal into two mono tracks, but I find no instructions on how to do that. Everything you record is mono. That's a real weakness. Other iPad Daws allow up to 24 stereo tracks, although lacking in the robust effects of this app. Nice but needs work.

PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!. This is (was) my favorite DAW and I recommended it to everyone. This is the DAW I learned on and would give it 10 stars if I could but the latest update makes it useless with the older versions of iPad’s. I have a hardware interface that uses the 30 pin connector on my 3rd generation iPad, I have purchased all the in app purchases and it works so well on the older versions on iPad’s. I can’t believe you took away the compatibility with these iPad’s. every penny I have spent on equipment for this DAW is useless and I guess I will be going over to Cubasis. I Loved this app so much but now I feel ripped off! If there is any way you can make this compatible with the older iPad’s again I will rewrite my review and continue recommending to all my musician friends. I know technology moves on but this software worked so well on the older versions of iPad’s I just don’t understand why you would cripple it for those pads. If Cubasis can support them I’m sure you can make this work with them again. I am begging you to please fix this flaw and make this the great app it used to be!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. It's been 2 months, and still nothing. I emailed the devs, and they just told me to 'check my software and to make sure the Dropbox app is updated' which both are up to date. The devs haven't responded to me, since. I'm someone who invested money into this company, and they haven't helped me at all. Waste of time using this app. If errors occur, the devs won't help you, even though it's their job. Waste of money.

great app. This app takes away all the glittery extras that you find in garage band and replaces them with useful tools that will appreciated by anyone looking for more control over their recordings. Thing like extra tracks ,up to 12. Complete control over Individual volume thought the tracks recording. Effects that allow you to dial in exactly what you want. A better edit track setup thank garage band currently offers. In short, if u want a solid multi track recorder and can do without virtual instruments ,this is the best out there. Until apple offers a full version of garage band or at least one with better editing options this app wins.

Very nice app.. Very nice app keep up the great work...But need a fix.I installed the latest update and know I get a high pitched squel..I am not running iOS 6 I am using the last 5 iOS. maybe I should have not updated since the updates seem to be for iso6.. I wonder is there anyway to go back one update?

Impressive. My goal was to find a Nuendo or Sonar-like app for iPad 2. This I believe is as close as it's going to get. I was worried what audio interface would be compatible as the documentation does not cover this aspect. I emailed support and got a reply that they had success with the Camera Connection Kit. I now use a Alesis MultiMix 4 USB attached to the Camera Connection Kit which works great. I monitor the recording and playback through headphones connected to the MultiMix. The app is intuitive and very powerful in the hands of an audio engineer. I am pleased with the functionality of the editor and effects, as well as the GUI. I have a few minor asks: Track mode: need ability to move the cursor without accidentally resetting your selected range Compressor: need ability for more output gain Mixing: need ability to export only the selected region This app is only limited by the iPad's own capabilities, so I give it 5 stars.

Ok, but.... As a long time user of audio mixing software I find Meteor quite lacking and certainly not as usable as professional software. Recording tracks through Audiobus seems to lose frequency response in the bass. Try recording iKaossilator bass through audio bus and you will see what I mean. The track editing is very clunky and time consuming. Tempo is only available in 10bpm increments so you can not have a song at 95bpm in Meteor. There is no trim to loop which is quite disappointing as well. For a rough cut field app I would recommend Meteor but it is not going to replace ProTools, Sonar, or Audition for final production needs.

Don’t. There’s literally no reason to buy this. It is a time capsule from the 90’s. The developer is currently producing some excellent AUv3 plug ins that are light years ahead of the technology in this DAW. If they were to bring this into the 21st Century based on their current batch of plug ins it would be a contender. But definitely not as it is. Look at MultiTrackStudio, Auria, or Cubasis.

Pretty good app. I love everything about it so far! I am going to buy the video plugin, and try and make a multiscreen music video. If that video plugin will work as well with the meteor multitrack the it has got it going on. Gonna try to load the video on with my Vivitar handycam, so everyone wish me luck. If this had a note editor that you could compose with I would have given it 5 stars.

Wish i could use it!. This app has a great interface, unfortunately you can not record more that one audio track when recording a midi track. so for my live performance application requirement it is useless, when i enquired about any upgrades to this function i was stonewalled, so i do not have much hope that this shortcoming will be addressed

A serious contender.... This is an ambitious app. Someone else said it best in their review when they said that it covers a lot of ground. It provides robust audio and midi recording capabilities, in a more professional environment IMO than Music Studio. Things that need improvement: 1. Ability to resize, vertically and horizontally, the keyboard. Basically the GarageBand iOS sizing for the keyboard. But, the keys are also too short! Taking off stars till this is improved! Used to rate this as 4 stars. 2. Ability to use multiple time signatures in 1 tune. None of the iOS daws have this yet :-( Add these improvements and I'm using Meteor all the time. Right now, I use Beatmaker 2 much more and dump tracks to Meteor for audio recording. I use Meteor for transcriptions (my jazz stuff) mostly, but would love to use it more. It is the closest to having it all...

A powerful DAW with unique features. Meteor does what all other IOS DAWs do, and some things that the others don’t. The track markers are very useful for navigating around a project. Also, the fx implementation is very good.

Nice looking app, but buggy. I have had issues with this app and have waited for some time with no responses from 4pockets regarding meteor and other 4pockets software. I have searched forums and the meteor manual and found nothing like the problems I am having. I am interested in buying the midi in-app add-ons, but I am not going to pay the additional cost without confidence in 4pockets support. Compared to many professional desktop DAWs Meteor is a good value, but compared to the reliability and stability of multitrack DAW or even GarageBand, I'm not sure that meteor is worth the extra cost... at least until I receive support from 4pockets and see these bugs fixed. For now I would suggest multitrack DAW if your looking for a mobile DAW.

Underrated. Best DAW for the dough on ipad, and I should know. I have bought them all. I overlooked it because it doesn't get as much attention or have the glitz of some of them but it's my favorite now. Better than Cubasis, better than Auria in some ways for now even (Auria doesn't support MIDI instruments yet). Not a pretty interface but it's very functional and easy to understand. I haven't even needed to read the manual yet. If you are coming from a desktop environment like Cakewalk/Sonar give this a whirl and you'll probably like it.

PowerPacked!. I have worked with Cubase, Logic, Reason, Performer, Sonar, and ProTools, but I absolutely love having a DAW right on my ipad with no extra hardware where I can roll out of bed and get an idea down immediately before it gets away from me. Now, I want more! Give me a swing-type quantize option and I'm going to create a hit record on this thing. Bet'cha.

Very Capable. Overall Meteor is a very capable iPad-based Digital Audio Workstation. It is very easy to learn due to it's intuitive graphic environment. If you have worked with any DAW, you will adapt to Meteor very quickly. Sound quality is great, what goes in is what comes out. Integration with AudioBus is seamless and predictable. I have not pushed it to it's limits. I usually get everything done that I need to do in 4 tracks or maybe 6. It's possible that at 10, 12 or 24 it begins to bog down, but I have personally never needed that many tracks so I don't have any reason to think that is the case. My only criticisms are petty. For example, I wish the mode buttons on the top were re-ordered such that the track view and mixer view were next to each other because those are the two that I use the most. Like I said, petty. Another minor "problem" is getting the timing right on your "tap" technique. "Tap-and-hold" vs. "tap" on an item (such as audio clip in the track view) can sometimes be a bit finickey. Again, trivial. For the price, it is impossible to beat this DAW. You have to spend much more to get equal capability from other iPad DAWs. And some, while offering some features that Meteor does not, also do not have many of Meteor's advantages. And those cost a WHOLE lot more. As they say, you can spend more, but you cannot pay less and get this kind of capability.

What's not to love?. Meteor is efficient, easy to use and extremely inexpensive. Download it now or be forced to face a shameful image of cheapness every time you look in the mirror (and any other reflective surface you may encounter) for the rest of your life!

One track at a time?. This app can only record ONE TRACK AT A TIME! What kind of DAW can only record one track at a time? MultiTrack DAW, Auria, n-Track Studio, and Cubasis can do it. Why can't this? Audiobus support is great, but is mostly worthless in this app. Get a good drum rhythm going in DM1 with a MIDI-synchronized baseline in BassLine and you want to record it? Maybe play a nice lead along with it with Sunrizer? Forget it! One track at a time. I love the shill reviews for this app, too. Virtual instruments better than GarageBand? Doubtful, but for an $11 in-app purchase (more than twice the price of GarageBand) I would hope they're pretty good. The name and description are misleading. This should be called Single Track Recorder!

Great app, terrible distortion plugin!. This is a great app, it feels like you are in front of your Mac recording with ProTools. So why the 1 star rating? Well, I am a electric guitar player and most of my compositions are with that instrument, so when I bought it I thought that the plugins for electric guitar, specifically the distortion plugin would do the job for the electric guitar parts...but it is awful, terrible, killed my tone, killed my inspiration, so I am back to my MacBook and wishing the AppStore to have a refund policy, I feel robbed, scamed!

Greek tragedy waiting in the wings. This program has some good features, including the very necessary track freeze which other apps lack, but o.m.g. The GUI wants to make me stab my eyes out, it's so frustrating! Nothing is where it should be, nothing is logical and editing is nigh impossible. Also, the synth is a bit lukewarm. Of course, I never got that in depth as it takes me an hour to figure out how to make a MIDI track every time I open the program, thinking I'll give it another try.

Nice!. I own many DAWs on my Ipad, but this one I’ve settled on for my main DAW. I think the effects are Fantastic, and it's fairly easy to use. The appearance could be a bit better. It looks a little Cartoony.

I keep coming back to this one. And it makes me smile. I’m a longtime 4Pockets fan, since the Windows Mobile apps, and will continue to be one One slight bug, sometimes I press play and it doesn’t. I know it’s an older app, and 4Pockets has produced a series of great apps since this one, but I am convinced Meteor is worth some bug-fix love...if not a full on update The transport controls stop responding when the app is put into background then back to the foreground The workaround is to reload the same project, but it would be very cool to not need the workaround.

A Dream to Use. The title says it all. This App is one of the best self-contained music production Apps I've ever used. I do wish some of the in-App purchases were included, or not as pricey, but that does not take away from what this baby can do.

Great & Timely Updates!. I too have found this my go-to app. I have been Multi-tracking since 1976 with my first 4 track reel to reel, later with my first 4 track cassette recorder (Does Fostex ring a bell?), then on to my Rolland VS 880, then later another Rolland VS 890. I was a slow-to-convert to computer recording (although technically the Rollands were nothing more or less than just self-contained computers). For the past couple of years, I used Garage Band once it was compatible with the iPad. Meteor is not only constantly updating this app, but updates the app with, for me, exactly what I wished it had prior to the update. The manual is logically put together and extremely easy to understand. My next wish-list item... 24 bit?.?. Great job, guys! You've got me hooked!!!

Ed Bartsz. After buying, and trying several soft wares and not being satisfied with them, having no choice but deleting them, then I found Meteor what a blessing. Since the late 80's I tried many sequencing soft wares, and some hardware units so I knew what I wanted, and Meteor satisfied just about all I was looking for. After contacting Meteor and making suggestions, Meteor took them seriously and made those changes, and today I am happy, There a couple more small issues and as a beta test site I know Paul from Meteor will resolved them. I will rate this as five stars.

Great app but needs work. This is running neck and neck with Daw for recording audio but only because Daw gives you 24 tracks. Meteor can very easily be the best with a few bug fixes like it crashing when you delete audio from the audio pool. Four pockets also needs to add finer tempo adjustments so you can sync the project to external audio by 10ths of a BPM. Those fixes would make the the best recording app an earn a five star ratting from me. I now record and produce only using my iPad and ioDock by Alesis. Thanks Four Pockets for making this possible.

Best IPad DAW. Best IPad DAW out currently. I use it all the time. I'm using it with an IoDock. You can record two things at once by using stereo input and stereo track options, and then you can bounce the stereo track to two individual mono tracks for separate processing. However, this does not allow you to record effect the two sources differently, but I like to record clean and effect later, so that works for me. Be sure to close other apps and switch to airplane mode when using and you'll get clean performance. Outstanding bang-for-the-buck.

Wonderful MIDI Recorder/Editor. I have been looking for a solid, MIDI recorder that will record piano playing, including incremental pedal data. So many other MIDI records for iPad do not record incremental pedal data or even pedal data at all. This one does! This app has a really nice interface. I love it!

Great App. Meteor sounds great, is easy to use and serves my purpose very well indeed. I use it to professionally record (a small number of trax) and demo new material (more trax here). It interfaces with my gear very well. I find using an iPad pen works well. Draw backs - (which I reckon they will improve soon of course) -Slows down once you start using too many trax. - midi instruments sound really average for my tastes. (There is probably away to import new ones. I've been mainly recording real instruments) - can freeze every now and then - seems too hard to back up material from iPad to computer or external hard drive. Be cool if there was an easier way. Having said all that - it is certainly the way of the future for me. MK

Great app, still room for improvement. MeTeoR is an app that is really promising, has some great features and good sound quality, but there are still a few bug-bears that need sorting out. First, the good: 1. You can record a seemingly limitless amount of tracks, as each track will overdub and play the previous audio at the same time. (At first I thought this was an error... but it's cool!) Audio is recorded to a "pool", so the files are separate. 2. Touch based manipulation of audio clips is cool. 3. The GUI is one that will be very familiar to users of Cubase, ProTools etc. Edit window, mixer window etc etc. Easy to learn and use straight away. 4. I LOVE the finger-painting automation lane! It's like a new way of mixing. Now, the not so good: 1. Crashes need fixing. No data is lost when the app crashes, but it's still a pain. 2. File management system needs fixing - I can't get into the app's folders via iTunes, can only load samples to the root directory. 3. Sample editor could do with some more features, such as time-stretch/pitch - too much needs to be done externally to get clips and loops to sync with sessions. 4. Several edit window features could be improved, the "cut, move cursor, paste" paradigm isn't really conducive to fast editing. More gesture based editing (say, two fingers to copy, three to paste) would utilise multitouch better. 5. The memory management system needs to happen in the background, automatically. Seems that if I can reallocate memory by touching a dialogue button, the software really could just do that for me... All that aside, I applaud the creators of this app, which is the best I've seen in it's class. Look forward to seeing what MeTeoR evolves into.

Promises so much!. Just dropped $20 on a product that every time I launch, it crashes my iPad... Completely. It seizes and then eventually reboots. Very surprised it made it through the QA process. It worked once and I was rapt! Looks awesome and promised so much, but after I tried to load up a MIDI file stored within Dropbox it works no more.

Great v1.0 app...but some crashing at times.. I've been looking/waiting for a recording studio-style app with certain features for awhile now and Meteor definitely meets my requirements. It was a little disappointing to have to purchase certain effects via In-App purchasing (which effectively added 50% of the price for what I consider to be the 3 primary add-on effects: distortion, graphic EQ and compressor) but I don't regret purchasing Meteor or those effects. I ended up purchasing video import and Meteor crashed the first time I used it....I have no idea what happened with that! The only thing which lowers my rating from 5-star to 4-star is that Meteor has crashed on me a couple of times and I lost my project. Some might say this could be expected for a v1.0 app but I disagree: alpha and beta testing should eliminate crashing and v1.0 really should be fairly secure. I'd expect minor bugs and room for improvement at v1.0 but to lose project data is really inexcusable. Overall, I can definitely recommend Meteor provided that you're willing to give the developer some time to iron out some bugs. I'm impressed with the GUI and it's incredibly easy to use.

Worth it.. This is taking me a little while to come to grips with and I've had to refer to the manual a few times. But the more time I spend learning it, the bigger the pay-off is getting. I was a little confused at first just how to select tracks, bring them up in the wave editor, assign effects to aux/insert/master etc but it's actually turning out to be a very powerful DAW. I'm able to do just about all the things I normally would use Sonar for. There's even automation. A good array of effects that sound pretty good - although I had to in-app purchase the compressor separately, but there's a chorus/reverb/delay/tone boost already installed. It's not an inexpensive app, but nor should it be. There's a lot of effort been put into this and the result is a pretty comprehensive DAW. The more I use it, the more impressed with it I become. Both a Tascam Im2 and Guitar Jack 2 work fine with it. If multi-tracking is your thing, give this a look. Edit: you can also program Sonoma's Instant Drummer apps, copy them to the paste board and import into Meteor. Also, exporting your tracks to a stereo .wav file and then copying them out of iTune's drop box (when synced) is now working well. Edit 2: Getting really nice results with Apogee's MiC - works beautifully with Meteor. The flexibility of being able to assign different effects to either aux/insert/record/master is proving very, very useful. And can dial in separate controls to the effects on each track.

Good app. Its annoying you have to pay for the extras but you dont always need them. Really needs better support for track recording like multitrack daw has, overall though this is the best daw by far.

Metor. I have been looking for a package like this for some time. It's so easy to use and yet so powerful. I am still getting used to its many functions but it is a delight to use. Brian

Meteor Review. Great program useful range of effects could use some keyboard shortcuts Good manual covers most tools well

THE BEST MULT-TRACK RECORDER FOR THE IPAD BY FAR!. I've tried them all and really wish I'd just started here in the first place, it is just way ahead of the rest. It's the only multi-track to offer full automation for starters, and that in itself puts this app in a class of it's own. If you're serious about recording on your iPad, this is the only one that will give you that professional studio result, there's no point settling for less, you'll just be wasting your time. You also may have to purchase some extra effects if you like to have every option, but they're not a necessity, it already comes with some powerful rack units. All the effects are the best you'll find,or hear for that matter, you really have to try this out to really understand the quality. Do your songs the favor, it's really the only choice, mine have never sounded so good.

Crashes. Latest version crashes for some reason unknown to me... I have 4th gen iPad I've closed all other applications but it still crashes... ??

Awesome!. After using GarageBand for a month or so to record a few tracks and fast discovering its limitations, I went in search of a more comprehensive iOS DAW. Just as I was beginning to think that perhaps such a thing didn't yet, or perhaps couldn't possibly exist, I came across a review of Meteor and decided to download it. All I can say is... wow!! This thing is brilliant. Unless you're considering yourself the most professional of professional music producers, which I definitely am not, you couldn't possibly be disappointed with this app. So impressed with Meteor, and with a thirst for knowledge on how to properly drive it, I've looked up almost every thread to be found and find it hard to believe there are still people second-guessing whether they should this?! Seriously people, it's $10.00. If that's too expensive an outlay for a beautifully designed, professionally equipped virtual music studio, right in your palms on your iPad, then perhaps making music really shouldn't be your thing. I'm still discovering all that can be done on this and am having an absolute blast in the process. Honestly, do yourself a favor and buy it... It's worth every penny and a whole lot more!

Incroyable. Cette application est de loin, de très loin, la meilleure jamais faite pour tout musicien qui se respecte. 5 étoiles ne suffisent pas. 10 !

Poor Customer Service. The developer(s) failed to respond to my pre-purchase questions as well as my post purchase questions. Based on my experience, their Customer Experience was non existent. Do they value their paying customers? I suggest looking at other iOS multi-recording apps, such as Cubais, Arial (sp?).

Super Rad. Maybe an update ??? Starting to fail ;(

Good Audiobus Control. So far this app is the only one that allows you to set a mono track to record in Audiobus and it actually does record in mono or stereo if you choose. I like this because I don't have to convert my stereo bass track to mono because it's already in that format. Also. Meteor is working very stable with Audiobus. However 12 tracks is now seeming limited considering other Multitrack recorders are offering many more tracks but still a good Audiobus recorder. 4 stars.

Fantastic App!. I have tried a few of the multitrack recording apps, and none of them compare to Meteor. The recording features are amazing (love the effects and variable methods of inserting them) and the editing features are a pleasure to use. Thanks so much for the update and keep up the great work!

EXCELLENT.. I am using this app alongside the Thor Synth and Rebirth for iPad and well - it is amazing - very easy to use and syncs well with the other apps. I cannot stress enough that this app is an awesome product - such a bargain at this price. Buy it now - you won't regret it !! Superb !!

Require 5.1 a couple of days after it's release? Really?. How shortsighted is it to issue an update to require iOS 5.1 only a couple of days after release of iOS 5.1? Or even requiring a minor firmware release for your app?

not as shown. the synopsis of the app explicitly says it features virtual instruments, the app web page says "in app virtual instruments" and the demo video shows the instruments.. but... NO VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS ARE INCLUDED!!! They are at least an additional $10.99 for any virtual instruments... only find this out after you buy it. Hope you enjoyed my cash, I'm not happy.

Great App. I was waiting for something like this to come along. Keep making it better...bring on the updates. Works great with Audiobus. This App is a travelling musicians dream. Loaded some recordings from Meteor into my Sonar X1 DAW...mixed/mastered it...sounded great! Thanks 4Pockets...you guys ROCK...and now so do I.

Great!!. The easiest app out there! Been using it since it came out and still love it!! Thanks

crap. This program does not save files as it claims. Files on the FTP export file are all partial. Email files send in only .caf files not .wav. I would not have spent the money if I had known.

Great App. Meteor has made multitrack recording on the iPad. Very easy to use, good effects, even the reverb. Only thing lacking for me is a compression effect. Add that, and 5 stars, hands down.

S. I like it but they need to fix a weird glitch on this app because after I mixed some songs the record is blinking on the top, and all my mixes are speeding through while playing, please fix this bug.

Great App!!. This is a very good app with extremely useful tools! The options and functionality are very well laid out. The response time for switching screenshots is super fast.

Best DAW on iOS. While I use other apps for making music, when it comes to recording, mixing audio, and adding effects, Meteor is my #1 go-to tool.

BaddddAzzzz!. Nice app! Kinda has a pro tools feeling to it. Def worth the money!!!

Love this app!. This is a great app, now can u get it to stop crashing when I import a song, when I load a song, or when I flip the iPad...etc

I'm still taking in all. That meteor has to offer, but.... ...what I have seen up to this point is not gold (yet) but highly polished silver.

Awesome. New to Meteor, but have had a recording studio for over 25 years. This app is definitely spot on. Price is nothing when you get this much freedom. Keep rocking!

lousy, unusable - clicks, pops, dropouts on playback. I wanted to try this app out, but it doesn't work reliably - clicks and dropouts on playback out of the box, even on the sample song!

Powerful recording and mixing tool. Does everything claimed and more.

Boo to requiring iOS 5.1. Some of us don't want to update our devices to 5.1. There's no genuine reason that app requires it , except the developers failed to allow compatibility. Please change that!

Not far from good. The editing of tracks is like multitrack daw...i touch the clip and wait for the dialog menu to pop up slide over and select it...kinda slow...this could be fixed by tweaking the setting or making user scalable settings for how long to hold before menu. The gui of this app is nice. Goods! 1. Track freeze on an ipad awesome! 2. 12 tracks with bounce is fine, and now that I know stereofiles are welcome that suits me fine...8 more tracks would be perfect. 3. It has effects bussing! 4. The sound quality overall sounds nice thus far! 5. Very music computer dawlike and yummy! Cons 1. Your effects are just not very exciting...on a touch interface why not have an eq that works as logic pro's ie. 2. it just seems that this is virtual so the interface really shouldnt be knobs and twiddly little things...they should be made to work best for touch! If i want knobs to fight with on screen every other app out there included this failure. I am on ipad 2 so for me i can run this app fairly unconcerned. I havent crashed it yet. In fact if you check the processor in the roland vs2480 you'll find all the bussing all the processing (hard to beat) and 24 tracks are simultaneously available...on an embarrassing machine in spec comparison to the ipad2! I am going to give your app 4 outta 5 stars, but only in hopes that you can update it and IMPROVE your effects section. 1. Killer compression/limiter 2. 8-10 parametric eq 3. Multimode filterbank 4. Distortion ie all the effects from your guitar app If anyone wants to record on ipad, i think this app will be our friend!

So close.... … and yet so far. It's a fair price for a somewhat usable multitrack recorder… and it's very nice for songwriters and guitarists/instrumentalists… but it suffers from old ideas/methods in the MIDI arena. After using the midi editor (a $7.95 bump) for a week I can safely say it is poorly designed. Not wrenched, just slow and… lame. If you want to lay long guitar solos (clogging your iPad with sound files) it's fine for recording, if you can play flawlessly into it with a MIDI controller you'l love it… but as a no-controller midi idea-pad it is just dismal. The MIDI editing tools are poorly thought out and editing without a controller is slow and frustrating. MIDI #CC control is there, but they are labeled and restricted to limited jobs like "brightness" (Midi CC# 74) with no way of changing it… and there are only 8. Yup… 1990's General MIDI. A passe' system at best. Though most "A" level apps will do patch change, Meteor can't save patches or member the synth you used… Meteor assumes you will happily buy their sound files and love working with them (never mind all the powerful synth apps YOU bought) thus the power of complex integration synths is pointless . For all it's efforts to do MIDI… one usually has to resort to importing frozen tracks to keep it straight when one comes back to the file. The recording set up is fine, but the FX sends are very odd and their usage is predefined by the maker to a large extent, the FX are also a tad bland. The single worst complaint I have is there is no way to get around the screen and edit ANYTHING… panning the track is fraught with danger… everywhere you touch is bound to add a ill-placed note, automation, or some other problem to foul up your work. it's not the iPad mini… I can edit JUST FINE in other apps. Still, a good value… much less than others that don't even DO midi… it just needs a rewrite/clean-up/rethink of the MIDI… which is probably not going to happen. (I get the feeling the developer just made it to please himself)

Wow!!. This app is DOPE!! I get sped-up glitchy audio when pasting a bunch of audio from other apps. But everything played fine after I restarted the app. Over all Meteor Multitrack is amazing. The effects are great, the midi sync is just bananas, and it's gorgeous!!! I would love to have up to 24 tracks, some effects for guitars, and maybe some presets to help out the mixing deficient musicians like myself. I also appreciate that the customer service is very responsive. Thanks for this awesome tool. Damon "Mr Dizzy Fingers" Bennett

Works great. Worth the money. Does everything I was hoping that it would. I highly recommend it!

An Unsurpassed Multi Track, Sequencer and Audio Editor. " IPad production is one of the latest developments in modern music making, and one that has been dismissed by many professional producers as being gimmicky. Apps such as Nanostudio, the Korg ones, Sunvox et all, have proved them otherwise but still sequencing can be fiddly and audio editing within apps has been a sore point to be honest. As a music producer myself, one who has distanced himself from laptops and hardware, I've been hoping for an app that will sequence like Sony Acid and edit waveforms like Soundforge. Well, here it is! armed with nice effects, user friendly interface and an almighty mix down capacity- Meteor can be used by professional music producers and it seems, reporters on the go. It is an unsurpassed Multi track, sequencer and audio editor. You can import from other apps, your laptop or plain record live and then mix it all down. In response to critics who expect all audio apps to be under 10 pounds, I say this...for an app to do what Meteor does, the time put into ensuring the highest quality and capability and give you as much facility as a laptops software, 12 pounds is a snip, especially compared to the price one pays for music software these days. 4 pockets have delivered the good before with Aurora, now they have outdone themselves, support these great developers as this is only the beginning. Thanks to developers like these, it is NOW POSSIBLE to complete full credible tracks in full cd quality to be released to the general public." Zac

nice app. For the price, it's a great app. Reminds me of Acid 4.0 on PC. Still learning the software, but the manual under the help page is helpful.

Can't use this. This app is useless to me...works when it wants to..sometimes when I am recording a track and hit any other function like undo a horrible loud white noise kicks in and I have to reboot the app. Very annoying

Meteor. Most complete, feature rich daw for IOS to date. The Devs continuously update this app. If they updated the UI Meteor would rise to at least top 3 daws.

Stinks. Can't even figure out how to work it, can someone please confirm that this app is $20. When i downloaded it, it said FREE. but then I was charged.

Tempo!!. Desperately need the ability to fine tune tempo to 2 decimal places (75.80 bpm), and the ability to name markers and see markers in "project overview". That would make this app REALLY good.

Powerful studio App. The Dropbox integration and the audio editing tools make this one a must-have in the recording musician's app collection!

Not what I expected, wish I could get a refund.. I saw a YouTube video on the new features and it said “stacked loop recording”, I assumed this meant you could keep recording takes on a track and it would create a folder of tracks that I could choose which take I wanted (one of my favorite features of Logic Pro X) but I don’t see any way to do that. I’d request a refund but I guess it’s my fault for misunderstanding, now I have another DAW I probably won’t use. UPDATE: I figured out the multIple takes thing, it’s a menu item when you press and hold on a waveform in the track area, I now gave it 3 stars, it’s pretty basic, I think GarageBand has more options EXCEPT multiple takes so if that’s important to you then this is way cheaper than Cubasis 3 which also has this option. By the way, 4Pockets makes some fabulous plug-ins, I’ve bought quite a few.

The real iPad DAW. The virtual instruments and effects are great and the amount of functionality here rivals a full PC DAW. Awesome!

Errr. im cursing at the sun right now. every time i try and import a song from my itunes library it crashes or something. every time a short box will come up and say please wait but then it closes instantly and nothing is in the audio pool. some lame bsh....

Best daw!. This is the closest to a professional daw on the app store!

Best app ever. You are in control of everything. I'm a rapper and this app is great for laying down rhymes, adding effects, loading real instrumentals.....all around great app

Great app. Excellent app. I use logic pro on my iMac and I find Meteor to be very pro as an iPad app. Very versatile and lot of audio editing features. Best audio recording app for iPad.

Not bad!. I find this pretty good for a beginner.

Good software. Does what I need it to... Constantly improved. Not always intuitive... Could have better doc on how to export files.

Record from other apps live. This app is useless to me if I can't record other apps I am using with sequencers live. This is really frustrating. I want to do all my recording and composing on one iPad using several apps via midi. If you add this feature, will give ten stars!!!

Awesome!. Best DAW out there. GarageBand is on the shelf gathering dust now.

Yessssssssss. This app is GREAT just add more tracks and this app beats the pants off of auria midi is great now audiobus wow thanks so much I can really work out of this DAW/multitrack thank you again for really thinking of the artist keep it coming.

No longer compatible with iPad 4?!?!?!. 4Pockets has fixed the non-working issue on older devices...so my Review on 2/22/17 is now negated. My thanks for having resolved this issue.

Great app!. Would give 5 stars, but it crashes when switching projects sometimes. Manually shutting down and restarting fixes it though.

Audiobus Integration please.... Great app… Please integrate with Audiobus!!!

Muito bom!. Trava um pouco, mas é um app muito bom! Talvez funcione 100% no iPad 2.

great app. Love the midi editor, works great does everything I need it to do. Thanks for fixing the bug I reported.

Very Disappointing. First of all, I'm a keen user of Amplitube, but it has some flaws which limit its capabilities, and I'm not here to talk about those. I bought Meteor because I was in search of a better app than Amplitube, especially with respect to the multi track recorder. After spending a few hours playing with this app, I have concluded it is not as good as Amplitube. The good: 12 tracks in total...but are they all usable? I don't know. I noticed some notes from the dev that said under certain conditions, you would be pushing it to be able to usa all 12 tracks. Has a nice feature where you can fade in and out the wave form that you've recorded. I found I could copy music from Music Studio, and paste it into this app. A nice feature. Has an undo feature. The bad: For me, it was very confusing to play my guitar and add an effect to the sound. I paid the extra $2.99 for the distortion effects, and although there are 8 different distortions, they were all absolute garbage. I couldn't use any of them - the sound is cheap and tinny. And if you turned the gain up more than half way, the feedback is horrendous. For some reason I thought I'd be able to use Amplitube to play guitar, and this program to record it...nope. The help doc makes mention of buttons by name, but there are no pictures of the buttons, so you are often left guessing which buttons are referred to....too many mistakes made by pressing a button to see if it was the one I was looking for. Conclusion: this is not a true 'plug and play' app. Not intuitive in its use, confusing and difficult at best. A lot of my time was spent looking up the help or trouble shooting section...even though I had read the manual before I started using it. The GUI is OK, but for a $20 app I think it should be more professional looking (see Amplitube, which is gorgeous). A lot of money gets wasted on the app store with people buying apps like this that don't do the job. It would be nice if devs released a free version always, so you can try before you buy. In fact, it says a lot about an app and the dev if there is a free version to try...obviously they think you will love it enough to get the paid version. So far, there is no better app for music creation than Amplitube, even with some major flaws. Oh and Amplitube with a $20 Griffin cable is much better than the iRig. If the distortion gets fixed, it may be worth 3 or 4 stars.

The Best DAW. This is the best IOS DAW period!

Be Aware: fx Power Switches Inverted!. I spent awhile trying to figure out why my correctly assigned AUX sends weren't...sending. In all the backtracking, I prolly flipped the AUX fx power buttons. On the I/O switch, I naturally flipped them to "I". (And both positions are highlighted red.) But in Meteor, they're backwards. Since On and Off are both "o" words, I remember (correctly!) this way: Binary; 1 and 0, On and Off.

Dropouts. While there are many great things here, some UI consistencies are lacking from view to view and there is a serious MIDI dropout issue to be addressed.

iOS 5.1. Many of us on iPad 1s are staying on iOS 4.x, guys. Deprecating our devices is not cool.

Fantastic. Now I can finally make and record music of any kind on my ipad and have reasonably decent tools to work with. Thanks for making something that is not a toy app!

Love it!. I am an aspiring songwriter and this has been invaluable to me.

GreekHunter. Have to take back what I stated previously about glitches or dropouts. Just make sure you clear memory (iPad) with a complete shutdown as described in on board manual. U B Rockin' . Best in it's class.

Great app!. Really like this recorder, there is a learning curve but I'm getting there.

Really nice. This works really well, especially with audiobus. Good interface, easy to use tools, all around what I was looking for.

Producer. Love it!!!
