Very basic. It is nice to be able to access a world map from time to time. For further information or to zoom in or out for additional detail you need to select a maps or gps program. Good starting point but I wish it had more

Pretty much useless. The world map only shows capital cities, and doesn’t let you zoom in very far. The “search” function is simply a list that you have to scroll thru to find a country (can’t search for cities). The “detailed” map of each country that does show some cities is tiny — the size of a postage stamp — and can’t be expanded to the full screen. Oh, well.

Excellent. This map is perfect for my use!!! It has everything I need and is the easiest to read and view. I have many globe and map apps, but I use this one the most!!!!

Zoom search. The app would be improved if there was a zoom option and a search option.

No zoom. You need to zoom in to use the data. Waste of 2 buck.

Information is good , but. The maps are fine, but this app crashes nearly every time I try to move from one area to another. Hopefully this issue will be fixed soon.

World map. Is a good app. Very clear showing countries in continents like Africa,but is difficult when one want to look at specific cities. Is good showing oceans and limits among countries

World atlas. I have found this very easy and up to date. I would recommend this app for anyone.

Very helpful. It does an excellent job of the basics. You can roam around the whole world and easily check basic names and locations of all the countries of the world. Mikeh

$2. two bucks ain’t much, but this app seems like it’s nothing more than five screen shots of maps found on the web lol. compared to other things at $2, this is sad. oh well.

Maps. Maps are never a waste of time. Most people do not know enough about the physical world around us which when you do, you learn so much more. Thanks

Great Travel Plans. Before I travel this map application helps me to make sure I have the best information on location.

Look for other apps. There is no detail information on the maps, very general information. Not very useful. There are much better options out there.

Ms. Just fine for my fairly basic needs

The Perfect Globe Replacement. I rarely take the time to rate apps, but this one is perfect for my needs or anyone who wants to get a quick view of the world without having to grab the globe off your shelf or a cumbersome atlas. The great thing about this app is that it is fast and easy to scroll around the world. The reviewer who complained that it doesn't offer enough detail has perhaps mistaken the purpose of this app. If you need greater detail use Google Earth. This app is much faster than Google Earth and other detailed geography apps. It has just enough detail to get a world view without being so detailed that is bogged down, slow and hard to use. This will be the app I always go to see where things are in the world. Worth the .99 cents and more.

Just Right. Great App! I'm looking for relative information as when watching the news and curious about a world "hot spot" or looking for the Capital of a particular country. Also the time zone view is very useful as I travel. Any more detail would make this app sluggish and less useful as a quick reference. This is a classy app. If I need more detail there are other apps designed for this purpose. This is worth $0.99!!

Much Ado About NOTHING. It's an adequate, non-interactive map that's little different from what one would find in any atlas. It won't fit on a screen and can't be shrunk, has no features allowing one to zoom in on cities, and isn't worth the modest price. There are much better free maps available from Google, and I'm sorry I wasted the money.

Handy quick reference. I use this map quite often. It has sufficient basic information.

Exactly what I wanted.. This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a bisic Atlas that i could have everywhere I go. How many times do you want to know where a country is and have to google it.? Or have to look for an Atlas? Just get this app.

Disappointed. This version is a major downgrade from the original National Geographic word map.

great map. i wish they had a map with just countries on it and one with just country and capitals on it. it is hard to use for people not good in geography. glad i have it.

Good map for the price. This map is as described, so the negative comments are a little puzzling. It gives you basic information, is easy to read, and is kept up to date. Unless you require specialized information this app will likely meet your needs.

Good reference map on relationship of countries. Not much in detail of individual countries. But I find it useful in its display of geographical relationship of countries.

Search function could be better. I got it so I could find cities, countries, etc... and so far it hasn’t work as hoped. I have to search the net first to find out what country it’s in then come here to find it. Works great if you are already familiar with the globe. But if your looking for a city, state, province, territory or region it is useless. For instance just to check it out, I typed California in the search bar and nothing showed. It serves it purpose in general but it could be more specific.

World Map. For 99 cents it cannot be beaten. This is what I have looked for in the app section for a long time - a simple map with great boundaries and all of the countries in the world well delineated without tricky navigation. Love it.

Review. Not worth to purchase ! Waste of money !

General Map. I have been using this map for a couple of years now. If you don’t require lots of details, this will work for you.

Great app for high level planning. If you need a detailed country map...this isn’t for you. But if you want to check where countries are located in relation to each other, capital cities etc....this is great. I use it a lot for the first pass at planning a complicated trip...

World May. I like the map it looks good on the new iPad. What could make it better, is to be able to zoom in on the map to view small details on the map. And if all the cities in the US could be added to see all of the cities and towns, as well as in other countries.

Wish I hadn’t bought it. This is a very general map. You get one pinch to zoom and that’s about it. For example, in the US, you look at the state of Missouri and there is one city - St. Louis. I (wrongly) expected to be able to zoom and get more detail - not the case. I was swayed by others that were looking for a replacement to the old National Geographic map and this is certainly not it.

A globe on my iPad. Those of you who ate giving this app a bad review: did you read the description before you bought it? If you need a highly detailed map of a country, look elsewhere. I wanted a map that showed the bigger picture and this app totally fills that purpose. A great map for when you’re wondering, “where is such-and-such a country?”

Useful. Useful as a general map. Not very detailed, but gives good general information.

Not useful. I bought this map and it is not useful. I feel its not worth .99 cents or having on my iPad. The reason is the map doesn't have much detail, you cant zoom in only see basic details and not worth it. Better to look for a better map.

Disappointing. I used to be able to zoom into detail but that stopped 3-4 years ago. Also there used to be a distance measuring tool which disappeared. It is certainly less than what it once was.

World map. This map is just what i was looking for, i dont need max detail and all that blahblah good map for showing my boys where ive been in the world and give them a good tool to look at different places. Worth the $ .99 paid for it.

What. I thought this would be a great app showing all the countries. But, you can only zoom once and there is very little extra info. What a bust.

Can't zoom out. When I try to zoom out, the map automatically zooms back in, so that I cannot see more than a continent at one time. The map is good for basic outlines of specific countries, but you can't get the global picture such a map should provide. You SHOULD be able to control the zoom to your liking. This needs to be fixed.

World map. I use it frequently to review general geographic uncertainties. It is like having a globe on my iPad.

Really good, but could be better. If the map could just allow for one more zoom level so that more detail could be shown, that would be helpful. Also if the map could have the ability to toggle off and on different detail sets, e.g. political data, topographical data, road data, etc. That would be very helpful.

not bad. I look at it as buying a cheap globe. Not a lot of detail but good geography. more cities and rivers and lakes would be nice. zoom feature would make this app exceptional.

Nativetxun. It's easy to use, but I am disappointed that it doesn't have a search feature or if it does, I haven't found it.

Great for what it is.. This isn't fancy, nor does it have a lot of detail. What it does do is present locations in a very clear easy to see format.

World map. Unable to zoom out to full world. Not enough cities shown on maps.

World map. This needs a lot of improvements as its functionality is limited, it also bombs out frequently. Otherwise it is clear and could be a very useful App.

World map shambles. This is the worst portrayal of a quality map that I have ever seen! One example is the state of Queensland in Australia, the four major regional cities are missing. These are Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. In place are small almost non existent holiday destinations. I will delete this map immediately even though I had to pay for it to discover these shocking errors.

Disappointed. Wish I hadn't bought it. Needs the ability to zoom and show much more detail. Very basic.

Map to nowhere. Disappointing. No information, no ability to search for locations, portrait view only, a wasted tab promoting other apps. Essentially this is a map that can't be navigated, searched or studied without using another source.

Clear and precise. Enough information provided. No bias on any dispute territories.

Pointless. I don't know why I even paid for this app. Tabs at the top are hard to select and it has no other option than to zoom in and out. Not interactive at all

World Map. If all you want is a picture of where countries are, this is ok, but, if you expect some ability to zoom and any detail of the countries- don't bother. It probably would suit young students.

World Map for iPad. This is for grade one children, after paying for the upgrade I didn't notice any difference in the detail of the countries, waste of time and money don't purchase this app unless your five year old wants it. I will read the reviews next before purchasing !

Atlas. Very basic atlas with only minimal detail within countries. Would certainly suit young students for quick rederence but sadly would not recommend this if details of countries are being sought. _ IA

World Map. I wish I had read the reviews before paying for this application. It has very limited detail on each country, especially Europe, where you have so many small countries in a limited area. Quite useless for my needs.

Useless. The map is detailed, but the search engine is useless (only searches countries or capital cities), and there is no distance legend. Not worth buying...

Super low res maps. Pretty much a waste of a buck, unable to zoom in to get any detail. Skip this app.

What is the difference?. I just paid 0.99 cents for the "full version" and it is exactly the same as the "free" version. I was expecting more detail, such as US states and Canadian provinces defined for one. I want my money back. The free map is good but the upgrade is a total ripoff. Is there a way to get money back when you are robbed in the app store?

Not useful. This app doesn't have much to offer. Names are abbreviated so if you don't already know the name of the country, you're out of luck.

Where's the Search Feature???. How can there be no search feature? This makes the app almost pointless.

World Maps. Very little detail. I thought that if I purchased the full version it would be better, but it wasn't. Zoom is useless. Go elsewhere!

Needs Help. I was expecting much more from the paid version but it is essentially the same as the free. No zooming, no detail, no roads, few cities, ect. Don't waste your $$'s.

Lacking. Don't waste your money on this app. It always opens on Africa, not your last place. You cannot zoom the maps, they always snap back to the regular size. Just shows the U.S., not any individual states. Does not live up to my expectations.

Where is the landscape view?. Poor, not enough detail. Should have a zoom in ability o expose more detail.

Not worth it. It doesn't show any rivers or other physical features of the world. If you're looking for a good map, by the National Geographic Atlas. It's immensely better.

Map review. There is not sufficient detail and it is not possible to enlarge maps and maintain the enlargement. Would also be very useful to display distances for route planning etc.
