Sensational app. I do not usually write reviews, just so you know. I purchased this app hesitantly, as some of the reviews mentioned that it crashed or was not good, but for $1.99 I thought I would give it a shot. Boy am I glad I did! This app is a lifesaver. I'm working on algebra II currently and I've had some issues understanding the steps of solving functions, equations, ect. Thankfully, the app helps you on any problem, gives you the valid answer, AND shows you how it got it. Amazing, now I look forward to math class. Must-buy if you need help or just a reference.

Awesome!. It doesn't do everything of course, but I still think it's worth the money. It's super helpful and shows you the steps to solve the problem you put in. It also gives you extra information about it that you may or may not need.

This app got me thru college algebra!!. I dont do reviews often but when i do its because a app really deserves it. this app is great and like i said in the title, it helped me tremendously to get thru my junior year in college.

Great for algerbra 2!. Helps so much even if your taking algerbra 2. It is defintly worth the money. Would u rather sacrifice 2 dollars and get all the answers or keep 2 dollars and not have the extra help.

Best out there.. I've purchased many algebra calculators and this by far is the best. There are some graphing and other misc features that would make it even better though.

Not Instructional. I gave it three stars because it seems to do what it does well. Only thing is I thought it was an Algebra course. I was looking for an app to bring me thru all phases of Algebra. Giving me examples, showing me how to solve them and letting me solve problems along the way. This is more like an Algebra calculator. You would have problems, (maybe homework) enter the equations in the appropriate boxes and it would return the answer for you. Very little given on how to solve the problems by yourself.

Love the app!. Great app for my children and myself. Would like to see the ability to produce a table of plotted points for an equation.

Allows bypass of parental controls. This app, like many others, unintentionally providers users will full web access even when parental controls are enabled. It includes an embedded browser that can be used to access Google. This is a common failing, but since this app is aimed at a group where parental controls may be applicable it deserves attention.

Life saver.. I didn't understand a math problem so I just used this app and used the answer to understand how it works. Thank you so much!!

Excellent. I'm not sure why other users are finding it difficult to use this app, but for me it works great. I'm in year 10 and it works flawlessly for the algebra I input. It gives me the various methods of solving the equation and shows me steps on how to use those two methods. It truly is a great app and u recommend anyone to buy it and use. I'll be sure to buy other apps from this developer soon.

Great app!. Awesome for pre-alegbra and alegbra1-2, I have been using this app for a long time now and am always impressed with how fast it can get the answer! Only things that can improve is more variables ,higher powers, and show how to get the solution, for all different types of problems. Other than that GREAT app! Also could make a better tutorial video that covers each section so every one doesn't get confused :P

Best $2 I ever spent!!!. I'm really horrible when it comes to math so I was looking for an app that could work out the problems for me and provide me with an answer. I have to say this is the best $2 I have ever spent. I got an A in my math class and I couldn't have done it without this app. I just wish I would have downloaded this sooner.

What happened????. I used to like this app a lot but lately (idk Y) its been extremely slow... Its odd because it did not used to be like that. Whenever i want to type in anything...it kinda thinks about it for a couple of seconds then shows the # then waits some more seconds to show the next item i want to include in the equation.. PLEASE FIX!!!!! This used to deserve 5 stars... :(

Scruffybeard. Needs offline functionality to really be useful. I use this when I tutor students and find that asking them for their wifi password is a bit awkward.

It would work great...if I had wi-fi.... I know for a fact that this app would be helpful for high school students and junior high students....that have wi-fi. I'm going into my Freshman year high school soon. I would know. The thing is what if we don't have wi-fi and when we really need this app the most, we don't have it. So what? We have to keep driving to Starbucks or McDonalds whenever we need help just to use this app? It would be nice if this app didn't require wi-fi...It was a great idea to create this app, but I wish it didn't have to require wi-fi. That's the one thing I dislike about this app.

PHENOMINAL TOOL!. I've been struggling with my college algebra course and I cam across this app, so I bought it and tested it. And I can say I am amazed by it! I tried it against multiplying and dividing radicals, those of which I already had the correct answers for, and it was 100% correct!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I'll be purchasing again and again!!

It's good but..... You cannot find the equation of a line if the line has a negative slope, or has a fractional slope; and also there is no key for infinity...I mean come on, anyone who has taken algebra knows that lacking those three things makes it nearly useless because it's all about lines...

Well worth it. i bought this app because im mathmatically difficult. And instead of having to struggle for hours over problems i didnt understand, i bought this little gem. Im in algebra 2, and this app not only gives you the answers to most of the problems but shows you the steps involved in solving it. 1 hour = 25 min. Once you learn how to use it, its well worth a few dollars. I love this app!!!!!

A user friendly interface for Wolfram Alpha. This app is a great way to use WolframAlpha and make users pay an affordable price for a limited but easier to use interface. WolframAlpha is a really cool web service, which explains the "no offline" support.

Almost Worthless. Nothing here that isn't on google for free. It would have been great if the software showed a detailed way as to how it solved the equations but it really only shows the answer to equations -not that there aren't 50 million free alternatives for that. Somehow nobody realizes students need to see how the problem was solved and not just the answers.

Disappointed. This app would be far more helpful if it covered much more of algebra and if it showed the steps for all of the problems you input. I had planned to buy all of the WolframAlpha Course Assistants but until they become more comprehensive and begin showing all of the steps for all of the problems, I can't see these being a very big help to my kids. I do have a great deal of respect for what WolframAlpha has done as far as the computational knowledge engine so I trusted that the specific course assistants would be more instructive at least as far as showing steps and having more types of problems so that a student can learn what steps to take and not just the answer. As far as that, sometimes you can't even get the answer because the app doesn't cover enough of algebra. I would have no problem paying more for a more comprehensive and helpful app. As a WolframAlpha fan, I have to say I'm sadly disappointed. I even watched the video before I purchased it and in the video it clearly states that you will see the steps for the problems you input. Please improve this app as well as the rest of the course assistants if they are as incomplete as this one.

Good app, but differences between iPad & iPhone keyboards. This is a fantastic app. Powerful, easy to learn, and has a lot of useful functions. I use it constantly to check my homework to ensure I'm on the right track. My biggest complaint, however, is the keyboard layouts between the iPhone and iPad versions are so drastically different that it's very confusing to switch between them. Personally, I think the iPhone keyboard layout makes much more sense, and I find myself using it more often, even though the iPad screen is much better for this type of app. Fix the inconsistencies between the two versions, and it would be a 5-star app.

Works great but one issue. Great app simple enough to use but i feel like it takes forever to input the problem like the keyboards slow to register. Anyone else have that problem? Itd be 5 stars if that was fixed :)

Its great, but one problem. I have an iphone 5. I love the app and all, but its annoying to see the black bars. Could you make it iphone 5 compatible? I would love the app even more.

Great app but... It's a great app for me but the only thing is the deviding polynomials section, most of the stuff i enter, unless itsthe default problem, just comes out without an answer but everything else is great

Crashes. It's a good app, and I don't mind that it does the work on the server, but it randomly crashes about every ten minutes when I am typing in a problem.

Big fan of wolfram. I've had wolfram alpha for a few years now and love it. It's the first place I go looking for answers before I start using search engines. This is a great app and I recommend it to anyone. It seems like it uses the same engine as Wolfram Alpha. Im going to be doing a side by side to see if there is really anything the algebra app has that alpha wouldn't be able to solve. I would suggest spending the extra few dollars and get Alpha and get all the extra features. You won't regret the purchase.

Help. Good app. I'm having problems with it having a long delay between typing numbers or letters etc. It didn't do this initially but it is bad now. I tap one number and have to wait a few seconds before being able to tap another number. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Great app. This app is simply awesome. I use it to check my answers an if I get one wrong I can expand all the steps to see what I did. Also, if I'm getting bored...

love this app!!!. at first i thought it was gonna be a simple calculator, i thought it would solve for "X"... like simple stuff... man i was wrong! this thing can do anything!! i aced a test in algebra cause of it. and i love how it shows you the steps. so if your teacher ever asks for the steps then you can just copy them down from the phone/ipod. oh and a word of advice. for all the people that just get it and read this review. be sure to pretty much put everything in parentheses. it really helps. well i hope this review helps

Outstanding, but .... Excellent app. A must-have. My only complaint is that the "Divide" feature crashes every, single time I try to use it.

SHOULDNT NEED WIFI TO USE !. I like the app, but really? We have to have wifi? What if I'm in class and I'm using my iPod, and the teacher takes to much time explaining how to do anything? What do I do? Ask my friend if I can log into my account on the app store and ad it to their phone and use their phone? No. That's weird. Plus, everyone uses their phone and I don't have an iPhone. Please take this into consideration. Either make it so you can use the app without wifi, or buy me an iPhone. Thanks you're the best !

Expected more. Wolfram is supposed to being one of the leaders in the Math world. I would of expected more. I was looking forward to having the steps broke down for me. You get little bits and pieces here and there. There is no ability to enter in fractions. Might work good for pre algebra but once you move passed that the limitations of the app make it worthless. Save your money.

It's amazing, I love this app. But I have a suggestion can u add absolute value because there are some problems I get that have absolute value and then I can't do those problems on here. call me crazy but.... but isn't this just an interface for the wolframalpha engine posing as an app? c'mon you can do better than this, especially since you charge for it. add some educational value and intuitive features! disappointed I bought it.

Ummm. Ummm it's great but to actually type in letters or numbers takes SO LONG. I mean trying to write x/2 took me almost a minute. However the computing itself was amazingly fast. This would be great if the typing function was sped up a bit. But an otherwise great app.

Excellent aid for those trying to learn algebra. The step-by-step solve is such a help, better than those other apps that simply show the answer and not how to derive the answer. Solves a wide array of formulae too. Worth every penny!

Subset of functionality available in Wolfram Alpha. Not impressed. Functionality limited and just a subset of what is available in Wolfram Alpha. Just repackaged and rebranded... No extra value for me. Might be ok for someone that is not confortable with it's bigger brother, Wolfram Alpha - but I doubt it.

Excelent app. This app runs extremely well, and does almost everything possible. I wouldn't mind seeing matrices and trig added, but other than that, it is an excellent app that is more than worth the money.

Error. "Could not parse results." When I wanted it to show me the steps on expanding. If I wanted it to just give me some answer that I don't understand I would have used wolfram alpha. I stink at math. :(

Factoring. The factoring should have a step by step so it shows how to get the answer

A Rip Off. This app takes a small part of what their main app can do and puts an Algebra title on it. Do not buy this application, but rather buy the regular WolphramAlpha app.

Waste. They have another program that does everything this does and more. Dont buy this buy the other one.

Wolfram. I did not find this tool helpful at all. There is a very limited amount of help. I wasted money on this app.

Dont have step by step. I only buy the app to look for the step by step in factorizing and know it doesnt have it ¡I only waist my money!

Not iPhone 5 Ready💔. This app is a five star app but the developers need to work on modifying it the look perfect on the retina display of the iPhone 5. But till that day, this is a three star app.

Disappointed. If you've never tried Wolfram Alpha, you'll be impressed by this. But if you have the Wolfram Alpha app or have tried Wolfram Alpha, this is just Wolfram Alpha wrapped in a different UI. I'm didn't this developer would do that. I was wrong.

NOT a tutoring app!. I wanted an app that I could recommend to my students who needed a review or tutoring...this is NOT that...this app does the work fir them. That said, it is slick and well laid out.

Don't not buy..... Tbh it's a waist of money this app might seem good but at the same time you can't do everything you see in a calculator.

It needs more. The app needs to be able to solve more kinds of problems like f(x) and f(g) and it needs show the steps for getting answers.

Great, Helpful. Great app. Especially for honors algebra. Graphing is much better on my iPod than in my notebook, and I love the solving of equations. Exactly what I expected from W|A!

Crashes. Not usable

A must have if you take Algebra. I like the way this app prompts the user for input. I also how much easier it makes math homework for example I had this problem: Find all possible values for"x" 3x+x^1 + 100 = 7^x^-1 This app found both values in seconds and even graphed the results as well!

Not good.. Requires internet and isn't even a real calculator. It just connects to the Wolfram website and loads an answer from there. Build the actual functionality into this app and take out the dependency on Internet connection to get a better rating.

helpful in ways and improvments needed to be made if can. this app for me was great and im taking 9th grade math in 8th grade so homework is easy to do and like me i try it first and i use this to double check and it shows step by step how it got the awnser, the thing i dont like is that it needs wi-fi and so i cant use it at school

Need log. Needs to have logarithmic functions because that's is a big part of algebra II

No help at all!!!. Im taking algebra 1 and all this app did was confuse me. Half of the time step by step guides aren't available. I found a better app for FREE!!!!

wolfram agebra app ...Awesome!. This app is great! it helped me with the simplification of a hairy rational polynomial with step by step instructions including factoring by the AC method needed for the solution.

Needs offline access. This is a brilliant app but it's crippled by lack of offline support. Aside from that it's perfect.
