Helpful for YTP'S. I can now pitch shift and make things sound like opera! LOL!

I love this app...but..... This app does not work with wireless headphones.

Just plain right on time. This is a efficient way to edit and even add dynamics to a tune. Awesome for iPad. Great job!!

Will not work with Shure MV 88 mic. This app does not work with the Shure Mv88 stereo microphone for ios. I just lost an entire classical piano concert because the app is not stable and just decided to disconnect from the microphone in the middle of the concert even though I had do not sleep turned on and had airplane mode and do not disturb turned on in my iPhone. I also had all notifications turned off. After The mic was disconnected by the app it continued to record an hour of silence! I never have any problems with any of my other recording apps.. I contacted the developer and not even he knew how to solve this problem. This app is a waste of money and money down the drain and a important concert lost. I want my money back.

Crashing. I have been using this app for about seven years now and it’s my most used app. I’m constantly editing music and creating mixes for dance routines and this app has never failed me. However, recently it has started to crash while playing music. I’ve NEVER had an issue like this before but I’m having to research new apps to use because this one makes me too nervous to use to play songs at performances or shows now that it keeps crashing. I hope maybe this can be fixed in an update soon.

Twisted Wave. I’ve had this program almost since it started. I recommend this to every VO artist I come in contact with. Only program for audiobooks and basically all your vo needs.

More than just the basics!. I mainly use this to edit recordings made with the native iOS Voice Memo app. Live music, speeches, classes, etc. that vary from 3 minutes to a few hours. Plus, I've used it to edit single track files from my archive, as well as others people send me from other sources &/or need edited (that I pull from video, etc). I'm sure there are more advanced things this app doesn't do, but for my needs (fader, crop, cut/paste, pitch, speed, loop, eq, convert, etc.), TwistedWave works great! I use Document Picker to export to a variety of places, and often use the audio in slideshows or new videos. I'm an audio 'enthusiast', so I need more than just the basics, delivered in an intuitive format. I'll work on a project for several hours straight, every few months. This app delivers 100%. It's stable, works fast, and easy to return to when ya haven't used it in a while. (Also of note: hubby is a pro sound engineer & musician & was impressed by this app's capabilities). Many thanks to the developers for a an awesome tool!

Works really well!. Similar to audacity, not quite as many features. Does have easy tempo change, reversal of bad words, fade out, and more basics! Also LOVE the fact that you can text your final edits and not just email!

The best!. There is no better audio editor for iPad and iphone.

Select silences. Please create a select silences option for this app.

Not very user friendly. I purchased for $9.99 what I thought would unlock the app so that I could Share it , but instead was directed to the TW Editor. So I tried exporting the TW recordings to the TW Editor and nothing imported. My TW is still locked with my music recordings. Help!

Love it. I love it have been using it for years it is the only one I trust

Thank you for such app. very productive app... has enough to polish even the most plain to sharp audio recordings.... love the tempo/pitch slow down love the ease of transfer to and from other devices or computer nothing needs to be changed, people who expect a 10$ app to do the job of $1000 racks/softwares/or studio time results are complete amateurs keep up the good work team!

super. get it

Bested by a film app. I just recorded a voiceover in filmic pro. So I could hear myself over headphones while recording and listen to the recording without unplugging my mic. Repugnant. An audio app bested by a video app.

Great for audio editing. I use this app to clean up recordings using cuts, fades, and normalizing. The workflow works well on my iPad using touch controls. The Apple pencil support is a bit lacking but using my finger has worked well. The author has been very responsive to my questions. I am happy to have found this app!

Great Audio Editor!!. Wonderful! Simply a wonderful audio editing solution. I can create loops to practice to, I can transpose and slow audio down. Great. One minor issue: it fades in the beginning of audio which creates a problem because sometimes I create tracks that have a count in click and it might just play only one click or 3 out of a 4 click count In…so I’m not sure when to come in. I can’t find how to disable the fade in feature, but still the app is great for working with audio tracks.

Bug after update. I’ve been using this app sins forever and it was amazing till recently. After the 2 min of recording it starts recording on super fast speed (it sounds like fast forward ).I deleted and reinstalled the app and problem still there Please fix it Thank you

No cut. The mark of the priest does not exist

Great app. Have used the app for five years+. Use it to record a daily 1 minute sports report for a radio station in Redding. Worked at the station for over 20 years, then retired and moved to San Diego. Using the app, I am able to record and edit my report and email it to the station up there. Have had maybe one or two glitches in all that time. They were fixed quickly.

Twisted Wave. Twisted Wave is like having a mastering lab on my phone. I’ve using for years and I’m still amazed by Twisted Wave reshapes my recordings.

Absolutely love it. Highly recommended.. Echoing what others have said that this is the best audio editor in the App Store. I use it all the time. Kudos to the developer!

Rock Solid. I’ve used the desktop application daily for about 10 years I think. I’ve been using the mobile app for at least a few years for times when I’m in the car or traveling and I need to record into the phone through the phone Mike, or through an interface. It’s easy to edit with my fingers on the phone app after I’ve done my takes.

If I could give it 100 stars, I would. I have used apps that cost close to $100 that do the same job but more complex. This on my ipad has made my job super easy. I do a lot of theatre work where I need fx sounds and background music. Some have to be integrated into one cue. I have also used it for voice overs where I need speed and pitch changes...it’s a breeze. It downloads easily from itunes or I record my own sounds and manipulate with reverb etc. This is my “go to” app everytime!

Just a beginner. This is a simple to use program on my iPad. Do have a little trouble finding how to start a new project, but I’ll get it.

Simplest phone editor. Use it to do interviews and cut them up and it’s near flawless.

What happened?. Glitch: Out of nowhere, the ability to save files in any of my other apps is gone. Just gone. Now the app is essentially bricked for me.

Ummm. Recently whenever I try editing audio in the app it’s completely distorted and choppy and horrible. I don’t know why it’s like this. I restarted my phone, re-installed the app-but it’s still not working... help?

Only works with mic. I was under the impression that I could feed audio direct via usb/lighting but no it only will record with ipads mic.

Darn near perfect for ios. Exports mp3 tracks in batches without having to go thru a converter app. Handles many tracks in a project without crashing. The only thing missing is a scrub function.

Rocksolid. I don’t use this app all that often, but it’s always there, laid out so well and intuitively that it never takes me very long to remember lots of tips and tricks to make recordings, edit and share them

Fantastic Professional App. Original Review: Great! This is a full featured professional voice recorder and editor - and is more fun to use than Audition. (The editor is far better - and faster - than Garage Band. Think Audition.) I use this app to record audio books and edit on this app. I bring it into Audition to master. :) Update: 2 years later: This incredible app still provides a terrific experience and is one of the app-store's very best. I sincerely thank the developer for this. I use it for the recording and editing of professional audio books. I still take it into Audition for noise reduction and mastering. I love this app. Thank you.

Great!. A suggestion I recommend is to clear some history because my really over edited audio that is 3 minutes long takes over a GB. Overall, this app is amazing. It doesn't deserve a average rating of 3.5 stars, it deserves at least 4.5 stars or more. Keep up the great work!

Best Audio Editor for iPad!!!. 5 stars... would be even better if the UI got a facelift. PLEASE UPDATE THE UI

Not worth 10 Dollars. Do not buy it unless you don’t care for money

Still The Very Best. If you ever have needs for editing audio tracks on either your iPhone or iPad. Well, in my humble opinion, TwistedWave Audio Editor is simply without equal on iOS and will only give you awesome results I believe. To me, this app is the most professional and feature-rich option that there is available for Apple devices. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, and I state this with having tried easily 20 other apps. TwistedWave, is the only reliable audio track metadata editor on the App Store (metadata editing - meaning inputting the track name, album name, genre, track numbers, etc.) Other apps out there might claim that they can let you edit and create the metadata for your songs. Yet, I've only found in my extensive tests that even if an app lets you supposedly edit a song's metadata. 10 times out of 10 that metadata will absolutely not be permanently written to the audio file and if you move that file and look at it anywhere outside of that crap app that you're usin, that there will be no metadata there to your song at all. Really, though, the awesome metadata editing here is just a minute fraction of all of the awesome and professional features that I believe TwistedWave Audio Editor offers the user. From my view this app is as close as you'll ever get to a high-tier computer audio editor app on iOS and it even rivals a fare amount of those in my opinion. Plus, I think it should be said and should never be taken for granted just how rad and cool that this app's developer truly is I think. TwistedWave is one of the oldest iOS apps around and in all the time that it's been available, this dev. has only ever charged one fair and reasonable price for this star-studded program that entire time. He never succumbed to the evil side of iOS and never used disgusting in-app purchases or subscriptions with this app. I think that fact should be applauded by everyone who uses and appreciates TwistedWave. Moral and ethical developers are a dying breed on the App Store and I'm forever grateful that this guy is still one of those rare few. Also, any time I've had issues with this app the developer has gone above and beyond in helping me and is very friendly to boot I believe. So, I'd recommend if you ever have questions about this app or need help with an issue to not hesitate to reach out to the developer. He's a real cool guy in my opinion. The app also gets updated when needed, bugs are fixed, great new features added, no great features are ever taken away and no bad ones added I don't think. So, in conclusion, I don't believe you'll find a better solution for all of your audio editing needs on iOS than TwistedWave Audio Editor. I've used and loved this app for more years than I can remember and I'm extremely grateful to the app's developer for all of the hard work, time, dedication put into this rad program and his commitment to continuing to be an upstanding dude in pricing this app fairly and not adding any scummy extra charges just for the sake of greed like so many other iOS app developers today. You have my sincere thanks and gratitude for all of the above and God bless. iPad Pro 2020/ iPhone 8 Plus iOS 14.6

It’s okay. For 10 dollars I’d expect an UnMix option to extract vocals, drums, or instrumental.

Essential editor for iOS. I’ve been using this for years. Quick, responsive and files load instantly. I do wish it had a write-protect feature. If you touch the screen accidentally, you can alter your file. Though you can undo, it’s a bit bothersome. This affects my use in live performance — I doubt that many others will have this issue. I don’t understand the review about using it with the MV88. Shure has their own MOTIV recording app. To control the mic, this should be used. That said, I’ve recorded short pieces into TwistedWave with my MV88 and Zoom iQ mics without any problem. Anyway, no matter how I record, I do any iOS editing in TwistedWave. I also own the desktop version that has a lot more functionality. Both make my work easier.

It was great but…. I can’t put my phone to sleep and still have the music playing, I can’t do it by pressing play from control center either. I was able to before. I have “Prevent Sleeping” toggled off. I teach dance and I need to put my phone to sleep so I keep my phone alive after long rehearsals. The following did not affect my rating: Not sure why but any audio I take from this app and put it in iTunes (via Mac) to add to my music library will not work.

Still need Audacity on PC for background noise removal. I'm still looking for a replacement for Audacity on the PC so I can do all my editing on iPad. This looked close but after purchasing I now know it doesn't have the very feature I need most - background noise sample/remove. From a review I saw something like "Audacity for iPad" and from someone's video I saw that it had lots of filter options such as Noise Gate type filter and thought (incorrectly) it would have some sort of background noise sample and removal. It does not. It's too bad because it is otherwise the best audio app I've found for iPad. Back to shuffling my files back and forth between iPad and a PC with Audacity - less $10. Folks, if you could add this it would really help but I see people have been asking for this from you for 5 or 10 years so I guess that is your answer. The main reason I am still giving such a high "stars" score (4) to an app I bought and won't be using is that it would be fine for someone looking to clip audio and do edits other than background noise removal would probably be happy, and... it is very well done, and... the alternatives for iPad, such as WavePad are TERRIBLE for import/export, spamming, add pop up's, cheesy, unprofessional garbage. If you don't care about great background noise filtering this could be what you are looking for. Now back to my PC and Audacity...

Get it you won't regret it ... read on .... If you want to amplify your music so that it's crazy loud? Just run it through this App ... it's got adjustable decibel amplification, so get ready to bang your head!! Just turn it up 3 to 5 dB to start and find out where you're happy - don't be crazy and amplify it until your ears blow off your head. 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼 Highest Recommendation!!

Practical. The Twisted Wave app is very practical and user-friendly. I use it all the time. Thanks for your service!

Terrific. Terrific!!

one minor problem. i honestly really love it, but right now there’s a little bug that causes it to close right when i try to load the main screen. that’s al! <3

Basically Audacity for iPad. With the super simple interface and basic effects, this app is pretty much what Audacity for iPad can be.

Robert. The best of the best but it can get better

Awesome App!. Similar to Audacity, this app is perfect for recording my old vinyl records and audio cassettes to my iPad & iPhone. The interface is easy to understand and use. The app is very much worth the price. A quality product!

I need more. First, let me say, I love this app! However, now that this pandemic has forced all voiceover artists to become sound engineers and IT specialists, I need more. This is an excellent audio Editor and recorder for iPhone and iPad, but I cannot figure out how to use it to connect to my interface on a pc and I am frustrated beyond belief - I tried for HOURS to download Pro Tools and I’m dying over here. I used to use Audacity, but it was not user friendly and I hate to go back to it, but I just may have to. Anyone have any suggestions?

Every time I use a non native effect it inserts silence. Rendering the app useless for the reasons I acquired it. Of course it had to be too good to be true. Also a lot of audio units appear not to be supported.

Broken. All of my audio files refuse to play now, they all sound mute

Fantastic Audio Editor. This is exactly what I needed. I do a lot of modular recordings and need to go through them afterwards to trim out little bits, and TwistedWave does so perfectly. I’ve been loading up some massive sessions (1 hour +) and have not once had a problem, even after sitting for hours working. Better than any alternative app, highly recommended.

What?. Ok, yes it seems to be fairly ok, but it's very basic. I was looking for a program to help me write lyrics. A situation where I can import a track, and record some basic vocal over the top. Not happening. You can only have one track, so it's completely useless to me. Regretting jumping into the purchase without checking first.

Great app makes music editing easy. I have been using this app for a number of years now. It's easy to edit any music to exactly want you want as well as speed up and slow down.

Not bad - but if you’re looking for Audacity, keep looking. It’s really responsive and fluid, even an a five year old iPad Pro. Would really appreciate two features though - Click Removal (for old vinyl) and the ability to zoom riiiight in to make manual adjustments on individual data points (again, mostly for digitising old vinyl). This would make it more of an essential app instead of an app to use only when there’s no alternative.

Without parallel. This is one of the few exceptional apps out there, which bring desktop functionality to the ipad. Well worth it.

3.5 stars. Tends to crash and then freeze ipad when trying to 'send by mail' but is easily fixed by holding the lock and home button and then usually works on the second try. Otherwise an excellent program.

Yippee!!!. Very simple, straight forward to use, does more than it says it does. Whoever came up with the idea for this app, I worship the quicksand you walk on and kiss your smelly feet. Perfect!

Exactly What I was Looking For. Quick and easy audio editing; what more could you ask? Thoroughly satisfied.

Superb. Superb audio editor for iOS. Using AudioPaste, you can paste audio from other apps into the editor. You can upload your track directly to Dropbox or Soundcloud in a variety of different formats including AAC and mp3. Also, the VU meters are big and beautiful. What's not to love about this app ? Highly recommended.

Josh's review. Absolutely love this app. Could not recommend it highly enough. I have used it for almost two years now and it has allowed me to edit music mixes with ease and upload in a matter of minutes to my computer. By far the best music editing application I have used.

Good app. The editing works well...But the quality of recording leaves much to be desired...hopefully the next version will address the issue of the low volume output

Fantastic full featured audio editor. TwistedWave is by far the best audio editor I have used on the iOS platform. The interface is intuitive, works great with my Alesis IO Dock for creating recordings. The audio clipboard functions are very handy and I find the zooming & selecting of waveform sections to be very accurate and easy to do. Well done!

TwistedWave.

Almost perfect app!. I use it for split or merge files, This task is simple to execute and it goes fast. the import-export is just so great. Needed an automatic noise reduction or some thing for noise reduction and it would be perfect!

Latest update crashes. Please fix this version. Closes every time you push the record button.

Amaizing App TwistedWave. Love the Using TeistedWave..! but new update 1.6 has bug it doesn't load the samples error message

Not bad...but far from great. I just got the ios7 version and I'm not impressed at all. For $9.99, I expected a lot more. Not really intuitive, not really user friendly and the help file is very limited. I am old but not technologically stupid. Finally, importing a song from my iPad, editing it and then, not being able to export it back to the iPad music app, is way beyond my understanding.

Highly Recommended. This app is very easy to use, and great for dance teachers like myself. You can edit the song and save it very easily! Highly recommended.

Horrible. I've used different editing programs, and this one is brutal. couldn't paste sound effects to the end of my track, couldn't email/dropbox/export to itunes once I finished my track. Extremely frustrating. I want my money back.

Not bad. I like this app however I think it needs a few more features offered as a no cost software update. The ability to import audio straight from your iPod library is great. Not being able do the reverse and export edited audio back into the iPod is a bit ridiculous. People need to be able to edit there audio and immediately use it in other apps like iMovie. Otherwise what's the point? If I have to go to my computer to save the file and reimport to my iPod library, then I will just STAY on my computer and use more advanced FREE audio editing software such as audacity to do even more basic operations like adding reverb. Another missing link here is the inability to fade using the built-in filters. Be nice to be able to link to my MobileMe account without having to think much. Nice basic app though. Once these changes are made it might even be worth 10$. Shawn

Very helpful customer service. Customer service is really helpful and understanding

Ripoff. Install, try to import, crash. Appears to be no way to import voice memos while on the go. I got ripped off for $10

Very Cleaver. I have been involved with audio for longer than I care to admit and I must say TW is an extremely cleaver and innovative app. The learning curve is immediate with more than sufficient extras, which included my personal plugins, to provide an extremely satisfying quality end result. Import and Export is simplicity personified. Anyone seeking a single track enjoyable editing experience for the novice or more experienced practitioner on the move I highly recommend this product.

Good app but. Needs more distortion effects and other stuff as well as vocal remover... I.ve been trying to find a good audio editor app for awhile now because I use a program on my computer called audacity and I.m tried of going on when I want to remove vocals for something.. if you could add more effects like on audacity that would be great.. thank you 😌

Excellent!. I love TwistedWave! I use it mainly to record and edit mono audio files and it's both easy and very clean. New features have been added such as "reverb" and "Time stretching". Also, I've always received a quick response from Thomas, the developer, whenever I sent him a question. Highly recommended!

Nice app! Works well!. Clear interface. Smooth control. No crashes (knock, knock). I haven't tried all the features, of course, but what I have tried works nicely. Worth the price.

Useful tool for recording music lessons!. Appreciate this app very much... Do you think you could add the ability to write micro notes over the wave file and also add marker points for easy return to the beginning of a song or explanation... whatever! It might also be good to have different colored markers so that one colour might be for finding points within a song and another for the beginning of the song etc.. I would love to be able to put notes about content on the wave file...thank you, I have had a bit of trouble with larger file downloads stalling and the transfer doesn't work when Auto Lock kicks in but over all I like the editing features. - Brian M. Reschke

Excellent. Interface is great. It renders the wave quickly. Selection tool works just as I would expect it to. I edit hour long mp3s and this app has no problem handling them. I import from Dropbox, edit and export to an FTP app for upload to my website. (I did get a couple of errors when trying to upload via ftp from within the app... So I downloaded an additional app for FTP)

Great for voice acting. I use this with the Apogee MiC and iAnnotate, and it's perfect for voicing auditions in the road. I do wish it had a user guide or walkthrough for its effects, since I'm a recording noob, and I'd like an automatic overnight Dropbox backup option if that's technically possible given iPad constraints (I don't really want to pay for extra iCloud space), but it's otherwise great for my uses.

Best Recording and playback app in App store. What makes a good app for me may not make it a good app for you, it's what you use it for. With that said, this is a GREAT app! There are hundreds of recording apps out there, but THIS app has the best interface for looking at your recording and monitoring it. A vital part of recording. You can import files from your iTunes library, Dropbox or other options. You can manipulate the audio with effects and send back to Dropbox. I had the app for 7 minutes and was using it like a pro. Very user friendly! I see some suggestions from others, but for what I need this for (listening to audio projects and analyzing how well it was recorded and mixed), this is the king!!!

Terrible until update restores pasteboard. There are other wave editing apps available, but I paid TEN BUCKS for this one because it had Sonoma Pasteboard built into it--and then you "updated" it and removed it. Return the Sonoma Pasteboard immediately or refund me and anyone else who paid for this before the update.

RIP OFF. I had this about 4 days ago now u can't do anything to it this thing is not a 10 dollar material if there's Echos and other effects distortion it will be great , I tried copy and pasting to another file it just doesn't work ..... I want my money back

Better than a desktop app. I now use this instead of Audacity on a laptop.

Terrible app. Not very user friendly. Cannot add tracks. Crashes. Want money back.

Just what I was looking for!. I have to edit audio interviews on a regular basis, which has always been a painstakingly tedious process no matter what software I was using. TwistedWave for the iPad has streamlined the process in a truly revolutionary way. The ability to quickly zoom in and out on the waveform by pinching, the ease of scrolling through the wave with a finger swipe, and the simple and elegant means of highlighting a stretch to cut or modify have saved me countless hours. This is an excellent piece of software, clearly written by someone who knows audio editing very well.

Wow!. I launched the app and pressed record--what a gorgeous interface! So far editing, recording, file management--all first rate. Sound quality is top-notch! I tried both the built-in microphone on my iPad Air 2 and an Apogee ONE audio interface with built-in microphone. Both produced excellent results. I have no complaints--I'm a new believer! Oh, and I've auditioned lots of audio editor software on the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows platforms. I'm a long-time Logic Pro user and I have become a devoted Reaper user. I wanted an audio editor for the iPad that would do everything I needed including cut-and-paste, normalizing, effects . . . TwistedWave is truly great software.

Fantastic. I purchased this app mainly for two purposes....to make pitch adjustments to my vocals after they are recorded, and to be able to stretch and/or shrink the length of any type of note that I have recorded as an audio wave in my multitrack recordings. This App is incredible. It allows me to do all of the above plus much, much more. Coupled with AudioCopy (included) and AudioShare, I can import single tracks of audio from my multitrack recordings in progress, tweak them to my heart's content, then export them right back into my on-going projects. I have been searching for such an app for months ...and here it is, exactly what I needed. Outstanding!! Dr. K.

The BEST audio editor available. I use Twisted Wave primarily for radio production in Boston, and I have found it to be an extremely user friendly, well designed app that makes for a quick turnaround on projects. Selecting audio is straightforward, it's got decent reverbs and compression, a way to quickly add a fade, you can import from iTunes and export to DropBox, and (in my experience) it NEVER freezes up. Love it.

Simple and powerful Audio Editor for iOS.. This is the best single purpose audio editor on iOS, and it integrates very well into use with other apps via audio copy/paste and audiobus, etc Extremely handy and really a "must have" if you are producing good quality music or podcasts on your I device. It's nice that it's universal as well. One price gets it on your iPad and iPhone.

Really, really good. It was about time somebody wrote an App with such a professional looking interface and simple, yet effective tools for audio recording and editing. It feels like having Adobe Audition in the palm of your hands. On top of that, the author is quick and responsive, and he is working on major updates to make it better (cropping, saving selections, moving audio between files, higher bitrate encoding, background recording...) It looks and works great on the iPhone, but it is simply stunning on the iPad. Highly recommended for anybody serious about sound recording.

Worth much more than the cost. I have been using the desktop version of TwistedWave for over 10 years as my main stereo audio editor and mastering program. I am a composer and producer and love simplicity and reliability. This program has performed flawlessly. It’s sleek design hides its powerful engine which is exceptionally user friendly. When the mobile app became available it totally expanded the way I record in the field. Not only am I able to record, with third party audio interfaces, extremely high quality audio, but also edit on the fly and send the files off to numerous locations using universal apps supported by TwistedWave. The tech support is a team of one: Thomas, who is also the developer! He is always helpful, will find ways to solve your problems, and gets back to you. I can’t say enough about this program except that I have used countless apps for every conceivable function, and I wish they all worked as elegantly as TwistedWave. If you’re into audio and require stability and dependability, get this app - you’ll be glad you did. Mark Torgeson

Best for VoiceOver. My wife uses this every day to send her VO auditions to her agent. It works seamlessly with the Apogee Mic and sounds fantastic. The editing is very simple and precise. You can send our auditions as an MP3 right from within the app. Also the Dropbox integration is fantastic. The iPhone version works just as well. I've been a recording engineer for 15 years using Pro Tools, Logic, you name it. For VoiceOver nothing comes close to the ease and simplicity of this app.

A great mobile Soundbooth alternative. I've never used another iPad app to edit sound. But I use Soundbooth for Mac and was looking for its iPad equivalent to edit spoken word-type recordings on the go and this fit the bill perfectly. Editing on the Mac is a little faster for me, but this is almost as fast and excellent for editing while traveling. It has never crashed on me and seems to automatically save continuously anyway. It's really easy to select pieces of sound and delete or do other things and the interface is intuitive and pretty slick. I transferred files i recorded on my Mac back and forth easily with both Drop Box and iTunes methods, and it worked perfectly. iTunes is much faster a transfer method given the size of the files I use, so I do that most of the time. Again, I've never used the free ones or any others out there, but I found this first and didn't have the time to mess around looking for a good free one, so luckily things worked out very well. I really love it!

Get this app. I used this app during a live radio broadcast (I also use Voice Record). Both are awesome apps. If I could change one thing it would be the option of having access to a multi-track feature. App allows music imports, however from what I can tell it ends up on the same track with my voice - not helpful. I paid for the upgrade - give me one more track at least. Awesome sound quality! Love the extra features that Voice Record doesn't offer.

Umm, yeah, awesome. Easily the best one out there for iPad iPhone and I have used them all. A few things that make it stand out to me are 1. The easy cut X option- Makes editing out the unwanted stuff super fast. Next, I only use my iPad for recording when I am away from my studio so I am almost always in a less than desirable recording location: the fine tuned high pass filter is basically a must have when recording outside the studio and this works beautifully. (with others it was too hard to dial in the right frequency if they had one at all). Third, the different EQ options. Would be super awesome though if they could keep a list of the para EQs that you have used on a track so you could delete later if desired. Lastly, super easy editing and that is what makes this app really stand out. Mark Hanson Voice Over Artist - Los Angeles Ca

I love the idea of this, but it isn't quite there yet!. For 10 bucks I do expect a richer selection of fx than just basic hi mid lows. I think it is a really easy intuitive interface. I also think it has great possibilities. But I think it was released too early. All these reviews seem to have a personal bias for the dev. I give him or her props. The interface is different. But the contents do not justify the price. It is missing basic things like a D S L R envelope, no fx really at all. I wish the dev hadn't just described the app as having fx. I don't really think of high and low pass filtering as fx. I really am not just whining for features. I truly thought with such great , verbose reviews and a good description; that this could be a killer wave recording and editing app. The name is a bit misleading. Twisted Wave editor. I assumed it allowed you to record, twist and tweak with a large fx library. I will re-review it after another few updates, but as it stands now I can not give this more than 2 stars. Just not worth the money, at all. Basic, basic, basic. Not suitable for my professional needs. I understand that I do most of my real work in logic and or ableton, but I think it is logical to be able to do a majority of that in app. This app could be great, but it just isn't. I rarely write reviews, usually if I do it's positive. But I had to shed some light on the reality of this app in progress. Seriously? 10 bucks?

This Rocks. Everything needed for audio recording/editing. I use twisted wave on my MBA to record my podcast files. The IOS app is just like the big brother. It is clean, fast and has effects and export options that are second to none. Very good, excellent landscape (thank you, thank you thank you) mode. If you want to record or mess around with audio on IOS, get this.

this is great!!!!!. I didn't think they would have a music editor like this on the go! I ha been looking for something cheap and good for a very long time to edit/cut usually long songs to do dancing shows. This is it! 10 dollars did seem like too much for an app but when you think about how much an actual good editor cost this isn't very expensive. It would be nice if they update it and have a way to go back to any point you are dealing with... what I had to do is write it down so I could go back and delete a section... not the end of the world but it would make things much easier... also having some sound effects would be nice! thanks for this great app and hope you keep making it better!

Outstanding!. I am using a gen. 1 iPad and this program does what all others I have tried failed to do, work. I edit podcasts that can be several hours in length and it performs wonderfully. I can export from GoodReader into TwistedWave and back without issue. It is rare that an app performs better than expected but this one exceeds. A big thank you to the developers for creating a "functioning" audio editor that is simple to use and just plain works. Worth every penny!

So Far, So Good!. Been looking for an easy to use audio editor since GarageBand can't handle longer podcast lengths. I haven't spent a lot of time with this app yet, but I plan to! Very easy to use and cut audio. Lots of options for tweaking small aspects of your sound that a lot of other apps don't have (or aren't intuitive to use). I recommend it!

Love this app. This is a great app, easy, beautiful, and better than some others I had. Also as an aside many audio and music apps do allow for sharing of files on the go without iTunes, just between themselves on the phone itself. Did it myself just now. Downloaded a video with this one app, converted it to an audio only file with this other app, and then edited it with this one and then exported it to yet another audio music app all by having these apps share the file with each other using the "open in" button that at least most audio/music apps have. No iTunes, no laptop was needed. Really, this app has a wonderful interface, great options, again I love it.

Awesome!. I use this app along with an alesis i/o dock as a 2 track mixdown deck. It's amazing! All my bands multi tracks get mixed down to TwistedWave, edited and uploaded to Dropbox or the twisted wave website so that my band mates can immediately download new mixes. Unbelievable! I've been recording on computers for 10 yrs and there has never been an easier way to edit and export than with TwistedWave. It the most intuitive and easy to use recorder and editor ever! I find it much easier to use than pro apps like Peak. My only criticism is that you can't change the input resolution of the audio you record. You can only change it on the output end when you export the file. Otherwise this is a great app that you would probably pay close to 10 times as much for on a desktop.

The Best!. I picked this app up because I was fed up with another audio editing program that is about half the price but 10 times less useful. I needed an app that would copy and paste for loop editing between IOs synth/drum apps into Mixtikl and Multitrack. Twistedwave worked perfect seconds after download. The price is well worth it as it is the best we have for audio editing so far!!

Now I can do everything on the iPad. I do event support and always get asked to do announcements, and create audio clips for the speakers that are presenting. This app let's me record my voice, which isn't that rich announcer voice, and add reverb, slow it down a bit, and of course change the pitch. I sound so cool now. If you need the full wave editing capabilities on your iPad get this app. It is the best waveform editor I have found.

Best of its kind so far.... I've downloaded many audio recording apps, and so far, for a mono/stereo recorder, this is the most full-featured app I've seen. The waveform and editing display window is great; and the ability to create your own FTP upload path is very helpful. I would like to see the following features added to bump this up to a 5-star rating: - Ability to monitor the input level in the VU BEFORE starting recording. - SoundCloud support. - A better graphic interface for both the VU meter and the various function buttons. I still value function over visual design, but with all of these great features, it would be nice to give this app a face-lift and make it look more like a professional audio editing app. I'm looking forward to see what the developer improves in the next update.

Great audio app. I truly enjoy this app and use it everyday recording VO's for TV and Radio. Easy to use, and easy to transfer wave files. I would give it 5 stars if it had the option for multiple tracks. Being able to add a soundtrack or SFX under the VO, then mix down to a master would be a definite plus. Maybe in a future update this can happen. If/when it does, this app would be my only choice for recording.

Fills a giant hole. Prior to this, I was using Fire 2 and Isaidwhat? For recording. Both have some perks. However, what sold me on TwistedWave and makes me giddy is that this is the only app I know of that let's you import a sound from iTunes (or anywhere else), trim down the bits you want with some precision, and put them another app, notably the incredible Samplr. Prior to this, I played with the sampling features on both Beatmaker 2 and IMPC, and both are clunky and unusable for that purpose. What I wanted was something quick and easy, the way Ableton is for slicing. This is a massive win, and another crucial step in the iPad's development to fully fledged musical tool. Definitely worth $10.

Hidden gem!. This recorder and editor has everything! I've spent a good deal of time trying to find an app that would let me adjust the input level for a recording (don't want "auto gain" for music). This app will let me adjust every aspect of the recording and edit it too! The interface is a bit dated, but honestly, as someone who records gigs and lessons all the time with my phone, I am thrilled to have found this.

Customization Needed. One of the best things about the desktop version of TwisedWave is the customization options of the workspace. Don't want the master volume bar? Drag it off. Want to shrink the master waveform on the top? Shrink it. Well, on an iPhone, screen real estate is crucial. To the point that if it is compromised, an experience can be claustrophobic. I strongly recommend that customization of most of the elements in this app be implemented. And maybe figure out a way to start and stop playback without having to tap the play button (what about tap anywhere twice fast?)

This One Has It Right.. I almost didn't get TwistedWave - I figured other editors were basically the same idea and they were cheaper so why invest? But I forgot: when it comes to editing audio function and UI are both crucial to the process and TwistedWave has both of these nailed: nice huge / detailed waveforms, simple menu setup, and rock solid results. TwistedWave has proved to be a vital app helping me to not be computer-reliant: The importing, exporting, file management and Audiobus capabilities are all wonderfully fluid. The wave editing feels very hands-on and precise. iOS music-makers rejoice and enjoy: TwistedWave is another keeper.

Excellent Recording App!. I've used a few field recording apps, and so far this is the best I've found. Easy recording. Easy sharing. Easy editing. Easy conversion into MP3 and other major formats. It's all very intuitive and accessible. Also, this app lets you disable the iOS microphone processing, which is *very* important, if you want to make an excellent recording. With the processing, there's background noise inbetween sounds. Without the processing, it's an excellent recorder -- shockingly good for a piece of consumer electronics that fits into your pocket!

Needed something quick, this did the job. Ever have one of thos emoments where you need a tool and you think "I wonder if there is an app for that?" Here it is. I was able to trim up a song even create a fade in to it and apply some dynamics processing. Pulling a song straight from the itune library and exporting it back to it was very, very simple. I highly recommend this for simple audio editing.

Works perfectly, straightforward and powerful. Works just fine, I worked out how to use it without reading the help files and edited an interview while my Mac was down, uploaded the final file to Dropbox. Simple, powerful, I tried the demo for half an hour then bought the full version. Unbelievably useful for straightforward work, and is capable of quite delicate and subtle cuts, with care.

Really Well Done. Twistedwave is by well done and easy to use! We use TW for our Total Babble podcast, and the app paired with the Apogee Mic produces exceptional quality! Everything is simple, laid out intuitively and works well. The only gripe I have have is that Dropbox has a cap when transferring data through the app (this is apparently a Dropbox policy and not that of the app's author). This can be gotten around through file sharing in iTunes. Very much recommended.... And to those complaining of crashes, make sure you close all background apps when using. I've never had an issue when doing this.

Glitchy. It keeps freezing up my iPad, What gives? Any idea how to fix this, or is an update in order? The idea is crazy cool and something I have been looking for to replace my old Gemini mixer. Now that all of my vinyl is on my computer, this is a natural and effective next step for chiseling songs for my mixes. Please fix this; I never dreamed I would be able to do this so intuitively, and the e-mailing feature is a great idea too.

I use this quite often. It gives me a few features that aren't in GarageBand like boosting the GarageBand drums, even adjusting the velocity and turning the volume up all the way the drums are still to quiet at least for me as a metal musician. The reverse feature let's me add some wild stuff to my songs. The change speed and pitch feature is really cool. It would be 5 star if it had features like adding effects and being able to layer sounds, also to be able to work on the left/right tracks independent of each other. I would be awesome if you could add 8 tracks to make this a mixer which would be worth 10$ easy....please add that.

Love this app!!. I edit voice recordings a lot for meetings, and was looking for this functionaliy on the iPad. TwistedWave is everything I hoped for and then some. Completely worth the price, and the new ability to export to Dropbox makes this app even better! Well done, and thanks for the continued upgrades.

Great app. May 11, 2013 update Nice looking new features. Vertical swipe zoom and recording at different sample rates, wonderful. Plus the gain slider. Very nice additions to an already great app. Original review I've used Twisted Wave for a long time now, recording voice-over auditions on the road, in closets, in cars. It is simple to use. Though I use it for basic recording and editing, it has a lot of great features. Emailing files from the app is a breeze. I'm really impressed with what the designer has done.

This is what you are looking for, a sample editor!!!. 6/2/01 - Seems to retain edit history even of saved projects, would be nice to be able to clear (erase) undo history. Big plus, I'm able to take music I purchased on iTunes, load it into twisted wave and change pitch and speed independently (note the speed shift is perfect, it has no noticeable artifacts) and you can adjust speed and pitch independently while previewing the effect. It has low/high pass filtering with ability to reduce amplitude of high/low frequencies independently. You can add delay sourcing the waveform from a lowpass filter so that drums can be echoed without affecting vocals.. It is very fast when applying changes, and will even let you playback the result as it is bing rendered. Previous- I did a test, bringing in a sample from OMGuitar, selected a subsample, performed a "copy", it gives the same sort of dialog found in iSequence for copy/paste of audio, I got into iSequence, loaded in sample into and instrument, and joy.. Yes this is what I needed..

Good editor, not multi-track but good. I bought this hoping it would be good enough for mobile podcast editing, but apparently I didn't read the feature list closely enough to realize that there is no multi-track editing in this app, unlike Fire Studio or Hindenburg which I was comparing it against. The screenshot looked like there was, but I guess I was duped. Anyways, for editing a single recording or song the app works great, it's just not very useful to me without multiple tracks or the ability to import additional audio into a session. Hoping for a refund somehow.

Bug fixes can lead to more bugs. This app is still my favorite. So far still works. But there's one bug that's been happening a little more frequently. When I play a track (usually after some editing. To be specific: pitch and speed) it randomly stops playing it in the middle. I can always still play it, but it just randomly pauses. Still a good app. Hasn't failed me yet.

Mastering for iOS. This App is so efficient and anything you could need as an Audio Engineer. I plug my iPhone into my Aux input in my Car, and with the effects preview I am able to completely master my songs. The goal as an engineer for me is to be able to have my songs really sound full and clear in the car. With this App I sit in the parking lot just mixing songs the car has the best acoustics lol. The other thing I like is the ability to add to iCloud Drive which gives me access to the song on all of my other iCloud Drive supported apps I.E GarageBand for additional recording. Very easy to use greasy intuitive undo and redo to hear the difference of your audio processing. I want to thank the developers of TwistedWave I love you and tell everyone to use this App for Mastering🎶.👍🏾

Like Audacity for my iPad. Having used Audacity on my PC for years, I needed an equivalent audio recording and editing app when I switched to iPad as my portable production studio. TwistedWave is excellent; everything I need. I was doubtful that a touch interface would suffice for audio editing, but I was wrong. It is very intuitive with a low learning curve, and it comes with all the standard filters and adjustments I need to clean up my voice recordings. The only thing some would complain about is lack of multi-track recording or ability to drop markers or notes on the timeline, but I've not needed those. I like all the export options and native Dropbox integration, too. I put this app in my "well worth the money" category. Thanks!

Best for radio production so far.. I have been doing commercial recording for more than 20 years and have gone from splicing tape to all sorts of recorders and now an iPad. This, along with my XLR mic adapter lets me record quality audio and also offers a wide variety of ways to get the sound out of the unit and to a PC or Mac (where I used Adobe Audition). The limited editing works well, especially for removing bad takes and the occasional uh and ah. I recommend it for radio folks and audio bloggers.

Awesome Again!. UPDATE: The latest update has fixed the issue with recording stopping when screen locks. Thank you! MP3 export also seems to work fine for me. Anyone having this issue should probably email the devs directly with details since they can't respond to reviews. Easy to use, intuitive, yet does everything I want including: - Export as MP3 (this is probably the only app that does this) plus a bunch of other formats - Mono/stereo recording - Export via email, dropbox, soundcloud, iTunes, wi-fi, audio-copy paste (wow!) - On-device editing - Good range of effects including easy pitch/speed change! Yes it doesn't do multi-track but that's not an advertised feature and frankly I prefer the simplicity of a single-track recorder most of the time. Can use a bunch of other apps when I need multi-track. This is ample and perfect for my needs. Great job, well done, and worth every penny!

Excellent. This app allows me to set aside one more devise so that my iPhone 4s can now take over.... my digital recorder. I was already using the Mac version to edit my radio programs and now, not only can I skip a step I can actually skip three steps and record and edit on my iPhone. This is great. All I do now is plug in a nice lapel mic into my iPhone, hit record and 3/4 of the job is already done.

Was Good...but crashed.. I had been using Twisted Wave for almost a year for my voice over work. It was easy to use and I got all my projects in on time. Then, this weekend as I'm trying to edit an audiobook that is due in a couple of days, it crashed. It's still showing that the recording is there, but it won't open. It's also not letting me email any previous recordings I've done. I've tried to contact Twisted Wave support and still have not received a response. If anyone knows of a way to help me retrieve my work or if you know of any other reliable voice recording apps that I can try PLEASE let me know!

So easy to use and versatile.. I downloaded this app for use by my print journalism students. It's so easy to use, is very functional, and the kids create pretty good audio programming, almost on a par with Soundbooth on the desktops. Being able to send files to dropbox or to email them is great. This app is well worth the cost.

Nice Audio Recorder!. I really like this app for the ipad. I wish there was a way to save the file to the library on the ipad rather than having to retrieve from itunes later on. I would like to work with audio recordings within the ipad itself. I exported my recording to itunes but I could not find it anywhere on my ipad. I had to sync to itunes in order to retrieve the flle. Still, it's not bad

The Best Audio Editor for iOS!. I've used quite a few audio editing apps for iOS, and I have to say that TwistedWave is the best, no question. It's fast and responsive, stable when editing large files, and has a very clean interface. The author was also quick to answer a question I had with the app, and to put it mildly, I'm _very_ excited to use the next update (Sonoma AudioCopy/Paste)! If you deal with audio editing in your work or as a hobby, buy it, there's a 99.9% good chance it'll replace the editor on your desktop; it's just that intuitive.

Best app so far. I got this app in hopes of being able to add "epicenter bass" to songs which is pretty much boosting the lower end bass. I'm not sure if it's the app that just doesn't support splitting the track into 2 mono so I can only alter one. The way I add the effect is by lowering the pitch to -1200 cents and after that adding various low pass filters. It's great, but since I'm doing it to the whole song, I'm losing the highs which is the voice. Would love to find a way to keep an original version of the track played over the one I edited.

Straightforward, Intuitive, Versatile, Perfect!. Had a terrible misadventure attempting to use the highly-touted Ferrite app on this iPad Pro; paid the 20 bucks to unlock the "advanced" (poorly labeled) features - only to find a convoluted mess of an incomprehensible UI that an old Analog Audio Production guy like myself can't even begin to make use of without months of dedicated training. Despite my attempts to get a refund for that clearly mistaken purchase, I'm just getting "Radio Silence" from Apple. Guess it'll have to be a tax write-off as a minor bad business investment... THIS is IT! As Steve would say: "You already know how to use it." Right out of the box, I was importing, editing and processing tracks to my heart's delight in mere seconds. YESSS! You folks really need to better promote how beautifully clean and simple this app is - "I am over the moon" with its thoughtful design and, for me, flawless functionality and performance. Note to all VO professionals: Just get Twisted Wave, and skip the rest. Might as well use Garage Band, if you want to tinker around with complicated multitrack Music Production, or iMovie for audio/video work - I see no advantage to any of the other "Audio Editor" apps I've checked out so far, but as an old reel-to-reel tape editor/production veteran, what do I know? Now I can finally get back to work, happily. Thanks!

Best audio editor that I've found for IOS. I produce a short (3'30") weekly radio spot in Southeast Asia for broadcast in Texas and midWest. This is the best IOS app I've found for my purposes. Change speed, keep pitch the same, is a great unnoticeable cheater for making a piece fit the time constraints. Very simple and straightforward FTP upload. Dropbox integration. Email file from within app. Various formats including mp3. These are all capabilities rolled into this little app that are not all there in the competition. The minimal unlock fee for all this is, in my opinion, a bargain. Highly recommended!

The best option for quick efficient editing. I absolutely love this application is done so much for me. Very easy to maneuver and zoom in on audio peaks and valleys. With numerous export options it's hard for anything to compare. Thank you so much.... I can't remember how much this application cost but it has been worth every cent hand over fist. Wish list... If possible....Please allow sample rate and bit depth to lock in globally. I go through edits every couple minutes and I have to reset the conversion rate and bit depth every time Also when editing loop section ...when zoomed in follows the cursor and makes the screen jump back-and-forth… Is there a way to freeze screen while editing playing loop? ...other than that AMAZING
