MyCadillac Comments & Reviews 2026

Disappointed. Last month I picked up my Lyriq and this app worked perfectly, albeit slow to show battery life/charging status, it still served it’s purpose. About 3 weeks ago it no longer gave me my battery info. I could still start, lock & unlock from the app, but no battery life & my monthly health report from OnStar was unable to retrieve any data. I’ve deleted & reinstalled the app (multiple times including today), called OnStar & they had me do a soft reset on my vehicle…didn’t solve the issue. I finally took it to the service department so they could see if a software update was needed on my car, but it was all up to date & they are just as baffled as to why the app & car aren’t communicating. I realize this is a convenience but I still feel it should work properly. Especially for as much as we pay for Cadillac vehicles. To me it seems the app may need an update.

My lyriq. This is the first Cadillac that I have had in 40 years and so far I am pleased with the debut Lyriq. However just one request. Most, if not all of the trip planners use State of charge to plan a trip. I would like to have SOC (state of charge) indication to the right of miles remaining indication. Otherwise this is a fun car to drive. Just a side note, I am planning a road trip from McAllen Texas to Bozeman Montana in September. Should be able to expose any issues on that trip for sure. Thanks for making a fun car again. Richard Smith, McAllen, Texas

Cadilac app/Onstar app. Never get locked out lost or forget where I left my car easier than a phone call when you get old and forgetful stuff that help you remember being able to send directions to my car before I’m even in the car took navigation to the next level. Saved me more time than I can count and one of the few things in life that should be free and ones that aren’t would be worth every penny being its free makes you think of all the garbage you have to pay for this is a everyday multi use app for a guy who stil wishes it was 1980 and had a beeper things like this make life a little easier better than a self driving car app.

Cadillac. Cadillac is great, the app is great, all excellent. Personally the car door to (given: whats yours is mine and what's mine is mine, my spouses Escalade) just about lost its door when a surprise car visitor opened the door in the middle of oncoming traffic during Met Gala type traffic at night, the car beeped and saved the day, Cadillac rules. Anyway will be needing a new one Escalade in NY/NJ as previous one was towed and vanished beyond impoundment like stolen at tow facility lol, please get in touch soon, looking for an upgrade/ customization with Rezvani, thank you 💕

Seriously?. We pay a lot of money for a luxury vehicle and this is the app we get? We have to subscribe to OnStar (that we don’t even need) just so we can remotely start our vehicle from the app? We are very disappointed. If Cadillac is so hard up for money that their app can’t even support their customers, I think our next car will take us elsewhere. Just because we have the money to buy one of your vehicles doesn’t mean that we want to throw away money on things like OnStar when we don’t need it. What we need is for the app to have functionality that can locate our car, fuel level, and most importantly, remotely start it. Even our Ford vehicle does this via the app and with no extra charges. Step up Cadillac and take care of your customers.

Disappointed. This is my first Cadillac and when I downloaded the app I was extremely excited to see what the app offers. It’s really just basic and it’s never REAL TIME! I constantly pull up the location on my vehicle and it’s never where I am, it will still show parked at my house when I’m at work. I had some service alerts that needed my attention, 9 days later it’s still showing up on the app. I also filled my gas tank up yesterday and it’s showing that I’m at 14%, it’s quite ridiculous the price I’m paying for a app that isn’t in real time, not even close to real time. I constantly have to delete it and download it again to see if it will become accurate. This app needs ALOT OF WORK! When I let my son the drive the car, I never even know his real location because this app barely shows REAL TIME.

5 stars or1 star?. Had to divide my score. You get a 5 for the day after we bought our new car, On Star sent us a message to get the Air Bag System checked within a day. Dealership said to ignore. When we got in the car, we got the same dismissed message from the car display. On 3rd day, car sent a Passenger Restraint system message with only 1 person in the car. On 4th day, Air bag message again appeared in car. We took it to service department, they said ok to drive until they could get a loaner car. Finally, on the 5th day, we took the car into service again. They ran a quick diagnostic and got 2 green lights and 1 red light. We left it and no loaner available. Three days later, service says air bag module needs replacing. They will order one but it will come from out of state and will take at least a week. New car, will be in shop for almost 2 weeks (if we are lucky). Not happy! Never buy Cadillac again! But OnStar alerted us to the problem quickly. Gave 1 star because the app will not load onto my phone. Not compatible.

Very UNHAPPY GM customer. I’ve had a Cadillac for the last 20 years and I’ve never been so disappointed until NOW! I also used to get free updates and reports about car diving history and unused to be able to remotely unlock my car using the ONSTAR app. Just come to find out, onstar has discontinued their app and now rerouted to Cadillac app for all these features to be paid for monthly or a yearly basis!! This is ludicrous considering how expensive our premiums are already! I’m very disappointed and this is probably why GM stock continues to decline and not offer the best customer experience! Our other vehicle is a Tesla and their is currently nothing that matches their utmost excellence in customer service and FREE features available to the customer! That is why Tesla is now currently the number one auto manufacturer in the world with stocks grazing above $500 a share! GM....you ought to get your act together and revert to offer your customers the best client experience if you want to continue to succeed in the auto industry or face the ramifications of prior auto manufacturers who are declining rapidly! This will be a main reason for our family NOT to continue purchasing another GM vehicle when this last lease is up! Very sad !

Works perfectly, could use more options.. I just bought my first ever Cadillac and I went all in with the 22 Escalade. I immediately jumped on and got the app downloaded because I had an app for my Palisade and loved it. The app works perfectly as advertised and I enjoy the quick response time after I click on a command. The area where you could improve would be more options. For being such an expensive vehicle I wish the app had a few more options like the app did for my 1/3 of the price palisade. My old app would not only let me start the car but I could chose 4 different start up configurations. For example, I had one for “summer” that had the air set on low at level 8 and my cooling seats would be on. I had one for “fall” where I set it for 71° and level 2 air and maybe my heated seats. Then there was “winter” which I set at 80° and full air and heated seats and auto defrost on the windshield. With my Cadillac I can turn it on or off. That’s it. I do have the seats come on but that is through a setting in the car itself and not on the app. Here in Florida the weather varies so much from night to morning to afternoon that just because I had the heat on this morning doesn’t mean I want it on when I start my car in the afternoon. I would love to see this update in the future since I plan on keeping this vehicle forever.

From Good to Bad. I never write reviews but due to the fact my vehicle cost as much as it did, I need to have access to all the accessories it comes with. Until being forced to update to the latest app version, this app was great. I was able to operate and access everything about my vehicle. Now with this new version, it looks good but it’s not good. The only positive is that it looks good. I can’t access any of my vehicles information and starting it via the app takes longer than before. Cadillac needs to release a bug fixed version ASAP.

Horrible always something wrong. I like the idea of the app I don’t think that when you’re paying as much as you do for a Cadillac SUV that you should have to pay $15 a month to be able to lock or unlock your car with your phone but regardless you pay the fee and it really should be prorated each month because it hardly ever works with OnStar, you try to do vehicle location and vehicle location is down tells you to try again later to get tech-support says to delete the app and reinstall still doesn’t work a day later it might work it sends you notifications on your vehicle showed I had eight notifications I go to read the notifications and that doesn’t work cannot connect try again later a day later it works but now the notifications are gone I tried to open the app just to see what the oil life was on my vehicle to see if I needed an oil change system air try again later. Go to use it to start. My Cadillac sits and spends and says cannot connect. Extremely frustrating and useless app that struggles to even work.

Have to delete and reinstall. I have had to delete and reinstall this app because I sent a remote start to my car and it failed. Two days later I reopen the app to start my car, and it still said “failed”. When I punched the center button to try to start my car, nothing happened. I was in a hurry and had to go down to my hot car and start it because the remote start from my phone did not work. When I got home, I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it worked. This is the second time it has happened in the last month. Thank you.

Unhappy customer. I took my car in for an oil change and a malfunctioning entertainment system that was yesterday today my engine light came on also my remote starter will not work nor can I start a vehicle for my phone I’ll call Lockhart Cadillacs in fishers Indiana they schedule an appointment for tomorrow at 11:45 as far as I’m concerned this is unacceptable whatever the problem is they should’ve fixed it yesterday when I brought the vehicle in there now nothings working which it work am I happy with this no I am not I am very displeased with this car that I bought from Cadillac and they seem to be unable to help me this is not what I expected from on top notch dealership this may be the last one I ever buy from Cadillac because of this experience

Complication STILL not updated to work with Apple Watch Series 4 watch-faces.. The Apple Watch Series 4 has been out long enough now that the developers should have fixed the issue where the My Cadillac complication can not be added to the new Watch faces available for series 4. You can add the Cadillac symbol, which is the complication, to the old Watch faces but on the new Watch faces, the Cadillac complication does not show up as available to add. I brought this to the developers attention within days of series 4 release and I got replies from people who had no idea what I was talking about offering help for things totally not associated with this issue. One even said to reach out to OnStar... seriously?! Updating yet again: It’s been quite some time since Apple Watch series 4 was released and the developers STILL have not updated the complication for this app to work with the new watch faces that were added beginning with Apple Watch series 4. So this app can only add complications to watch faces that existed before watch OS 5.0. Come on guys, this can’t be hard to understand or address at this point.

Still no iPhone X support.... Update: as promised, a 5 star review after an update which finally supports the iPhone X. The phone has been out for 9 months but late is better than never. Update: yet another update which does not support the iPhone X. What a disappointment to say the least. As stated last time, the rating will go back up when the iPhone X and FaceID is supported fully. The iPhone X has been out for several months yet the app has still not been optimized for the new screen despite this. This rating will bump back up when the app is updated to support Apple’s flagship phones.

Needs Some Work. When this app is functioning as designed it is great! But 90% of the time it is not. My main purpose for using this app is starting my car early on cold mornings to defrost and almost every time I go to start it there is some glitch in the app preventing me from doing so. The start button will say “off” instead of having the start symbol. When it says “off” you are not able to click and hold down like normal. I’ve also had similar issues with the unlock button, to the point where I had to call to get my car unlocked (because the app locked my keys in my car). It will also error out completely and not load anything and does not fix when I close the app. The only way to fix this glitch, to my knowledge, is to delete and redownload. I end up deleting and redownloading this app multiple times a week. Is this only happening to me??? :(

Owner. Basically, I like the car. The technology is good, if complicated. Too complicated, it took me weeks of trading the manual to master the technology, and there remain a few things that I am unsure about. The auto needs to be more intuitive. Also, there is unnecessary redundancy in some operations that only leads to confusion on the part of the driver. One series of action for one operation. I don’t need multiple ways to raise the volume on the radio. Perhaps the most annoying and potentially dangerous feature is the gear shift. This feature should be simple and easy. On my CT-4, it is necessary to hold down a small button to change into reverse and push the lever forward to go in reverse this requires focusing on the on the gear shift to perform a simple operation. To put it in park, a button is provided which is a different movement from the rest of the gear selection process. I really dislike it. Simplify the gear shift mechanism. It detracts from the overall satisfaction of ownership.

Doesn’t work for watch. I have the Apple Watch series 6 with the app in it, and it just doesn’t work. The only reason why use this is so I can leave my phone behind as well as my keys when I’m out with my lids. Or If i want to start my car when I’m running errands. Every time I try to use it, i get the message that I need to be logged on in my phone. When I check my phone, I am logged on. Only when I log out and log in again, it works. Which beats the purpose since I am already on the phone, and I can just use my phone to start my car. Also, sometimes I go to the app on my phone and there will be a black screen only. I cannot use trolls, and it seems like it’s frozen. I have to restart the app or sometimes uninstall it in order for me to make it work. Long story short it defeats the purpose of having it with all of these inconveniences. I rather just carry the key.

App works sometimes. I have the monthly fee generating on star connect service installed on my apple device. It works sometimes, and when it doesn’t, I have to uninstall the app and reinstall to get it to work again. It will tell me I need to call onstar to access my features. Basically it won’t do anything for me and be a blank app except to tell me to push the onstar button in my Cadillac to use the features; even though I already pay a subscription. I may just cancel after a while . Not worth the money. I like to be able to start the car from a little further than the key fob will allow. And this is mostly what I use the app for. If I have to keep reinstalling the app, it will get old really quick. To me the subscription is not worth the money. I also have a 2025 Audi and that one is worse for remote start. So caddy is one step above them , congrats… in all seriousness, if you don’t 100% need the app, skip it.

Hot Garbage App. Genuinely don’t understand all of these 5 star reviews about how much they love their car. It has absolutely nothing to do with this app that was developed poorly. I get notifications that my car did not start and then get to my car while it’s running. I click on most links and have a new window open up. I have my last two vehicles in the app with absolutely no way to remove it, yet every single support rep gives the same instructions that I’ve already declared don’t work. I had a chat earlier with support explaining the horrendous lack of consistency on my vehicle diagnostics, they instructed me to re-do troubleshooting steps I’ve already done. After uninstalling and reinstalling the app, their chat was gone forever and I would’ve been stuck with the anti-AI bot. Currently, I have two warnings in the app that are grayed out because it needs to refresh. The refresh won’t work and says to try again later, and one of the errors (the one time this did work) was about ABS that shows zero problems after the refresh. But every single time I open the app it says ABS service. It cannot connect to my vehicle in most capacities, and I find the app overall to be pretty unhelpful.

Good unless you use family sharing. This app works fairly well unless you want fast notifications for issues like an alarm going off. The only option is to send notification to your email. But at least you can control your Cadillac from the app. However, if you share your account with a family member, the app doesn’t recognize the second person logging in and adding a vehicle is joining someone who already has control of the app and the vehicle. It starts from scratch. You have to make a new onstar account, give another credit card, etc. The second family member can’t control the vehicle until that all done a second time. Very frustrating. On top of that, though Face ID is enabled for the app, it’s not working. I can unlock and start the vehicle and get into my account without having the phone see my face. I know Face ID is working for apps because it’s working for another vehicle app I have. Try to report a problem with the app .. that doesn’t work either. Apple won’t do anything because it’s a free app. Click on developer website link and it take you to the standard GM webpage.

Evaluation of this app.. Outstanding app, certainly the best available tool to manage and understand what going on with my car. One of my favorite features is the start you car function all from the app. If you live in a cold weather city, this is a must have function. By the time I reach my car, the inside is warm and ready for my departure. This is my first Cadillac, and it changed my attitude about driving. I’ve fallen back in love with driving because of this car. The app is just the icing on the cake I enjoy a slice of every time I use it.

Key Fob Not Available. This app had been working perfectly with no problems, until yesterday. The key fob option is not populating on my dashboard. Not sure what reason is. When the key fob option pops again I will rated back to 5 stars. UPDATE: I am updating my review to 5 stars. It seems like the key fob problem was a temporary glitch. It is back and working beautifully. Nevertheless, I got a quick response from customer support to help me resolve the problem. That to me is very impressive and important. This is one of my top favorite apps on my phone. I highly recommend it.

Extremely unreliable app. The uselessness of this app is appalling. The functionality is almost nonexistent since the commands fail far more than they actually work. Every single time I try to use the app to check the charge percentage of my Lyriq, I have to try several times to update the status. It is extremely slow every time it tries to update and nine times out of ten it fails and I need to repeat the process many more times—often with zero resolution and never getting an update. The same goes for changing the charging level or any of the remote commands. So, basically every feature is useless and beyond frustrating when I can’t even use the very basics of my vehicle.

Great but…. Sometimes glitchy. At times the car will not start through the app and it just says “failed” No matter what I tried to get it to work it just didn’t. I logged out then went back in. I deleted the app then reinstalled and it still didn’t work until it got ready to work all on it’s own. I made sure my update was current and everything. Guess it was just a bug that ended up correcting itself. Honestly I don’t believe this should be a “feature” you should have to pay for anyway due to the simple fact that u spend all this money on these vehicles and as expensive as these cars are, remote start should just be a standard feature! Why make us pay “extra” just to have access to our own control over remote start. It just seems kinda silly and price gougy. Haven’t I already paid enough? 😢😩

Embarrassing. I needed to get the scent of Musk off me, so I sold my Tesla Y (my second Tesla) and got a Lyriq. Love the vehicle, but the app is an embarrassment. The major issues: 1. Takes forever to connect. If I am heading toward the vehicle from a store etc. I am always at the car before the app even connects. 2. Barely does anything. With the Tesla app, I could keep the phone in my pocket and it would unlock the doors, “start” the vehicle, vent windows, set the climate control, change charging parameters and numerous other features. 3. I never even owned a key fob for my Teslas. Occasionally I would use my card, but 99% of the time having my phone gave me everything I needed. All the Cadillac app gives me is frustration and makes the Tesla seem light-years ahead. I hope Cadillac quickly updates this app or has a separate app for its electric vehicles, which, by definition are (or should be) connected. The EV market is developing quickly and Cadillac cannot afford to look like it is stuck in the last century. It is unfortunate that every time someone asks me about my Lyriq I give accolades to the vehicle but need to warn people about a seriously under-performing app.

Exceedingly Excetional. All exclusive management app for my vehicle to diagnose and track scheduled maintenance, tire pressure, select dealership and schedule service, remotely manage vehicle controls (excellent fail safe), track and locate, manage on-star, purchase accessories, and track and redeem rewards. I was absolutely floored by how accurate, precise and effective this handy companion has become in my life. It is a pleasure and honor to be a Cadillac owner and my experience with American luxury has far exceeded any foreign alternative I’ve ever had. Thank you GM, thank you Cadillac, raising the bar of expectations across the board.

“Keep Holding “. I like the app however it is becoming frustrating. When you try to start, lock or unlock your car you must “keep holding” down on the button and this is incredibly inconvenient. When trying to get kids ready while baby also in hand and wanting to rush out the door all at once having to hold down on the start button for what literally feels like forever is incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. If I remember correctly before the last several updates we did not need to “keep holding” can you bring that back please?!!

I use to love it not so much now. So I’ve been using the myCadillac app for about three years now, since I purchased my vehicle and I have to say initially I loved the app. initially, you can see your driving score i.e. hard breaking, fast acceleration you know really useful metrics to help you be a better driver but in the last year or so they have slowly removed key features that make the app worth $40 a month now it’s only purpose is to remote start from the app or check your fuel levels. In my opinion, it’s really not worth the price plus they’re planning an increase in January, which is really making me not want to pay for the app at all. Were they to bring back these key features i.e. driving metrics, vehicle location history. I would love to continue to use the app. But at this point idk if it’s worth it. Kinda like a waste of money tbh. 2021 XT4.

Irritating!. Very frustrating when you are frequently prompted to sign in again and again with your password! I have many accounts and many different passwords! Not being able to use the app completely at a moments notice and need to look up password is maddening! It didn’t use to be this way and this needs to be addressed; i.e. FIXED! Absolutely stupid to have an app like this and not having it available in an instant. All the recent changes, and this applies to the GM app I have as well, are NOT an improvement, just different. I had these apps for four different cars, and in the past they always worked consistently without my needing to resign in frequently! Why did you do this? Totally irritating and no added value whatsoever! Get it fixed now, or our next vehicles might not be GM!

Feel more like a webpage shortcut. The Lyriq is the fourth Cadillac that my wife and I have (after a two year gap of not owning any GM vehicles), and I have been a Tesla owner for the last three years. Hence, I think I can make some accountable and fair evaluations. In short, trying to follow the ecosystem of Tesla in a superficial manner, this app tried too hard in integrating every available yet decentralized services from GM without streamlining the fundamental architectures, the result is that the app is now noticeably slower compared with the app from even a few years ago (when only with basic onstar functions). For example, we used to have almost zero issue with phone-based remote start, but now the failure rate becomes 50% or higher. Plus, many of the embedded service and purchase options hidden under the app skin are webpage based— slow loading and essential making the app as a cluster of shortcuts. A clear indication of lacking attention to details. Worse, specific to EV experience, I cannot see the real-time charging status unless I manually refresh the status tab— Windows 2000 or XP does this 20 years ago. All together, I suspect the IT team worked on this app has been adding patches to the old app dated almost 10years ago without truly breaking ice in the new era. GM needs a building a much improved IT team to work on this.

App stuck at accepting terms and conditions - Update!. 5.0.1 - I create an account, log in and I’m confronted with a blank screen with a greyed out accept option. I have tried restarting and reinstalling the app - GM, fix this! The app is broken, not anyone’s phone! 5.2.0 - About two weeks after I posted my review, Cadillac released the 5.2 version of the app which resolved the above issue. Now I use the app and the key fob is right there on the front page and super easy to use. Good job on the fixes Cadillac team!

Feel like I was scammed. Update 06/08: Multiple calls and leaving messages on the forum but Cadillac/GM has still not addressed the ability to see charge left on their vehicle through the app that is such a big issue for so many Lyriq owners. They either ask for the same information multiple times or tell you that the team is working on it. How ironic for an EV to not be able to display charge statistics on the app. GM, can you please take the vehicle back? I would love to get a Tesla that might be simplistic from inside but does things that it claims and suppose to do. April: So you buy a $70K Cadillac to get next level experience but the trashy app makes you feel scammed. Absolutely frustrating!! It is slow. The app doesn’t do much to begin with and the few basic things like charge management and statistics that used to work (took 15-20 sec to update) has now stopped working completely. Not overreacting but I think middle schoolers can design a better app experience. I wish I can get this review to folks who are looking to buy Lyriq or GM electric vehicles. Like the ride so far but absolutely hate the app and user experience. GM, please take a note. This is not how you will win the EV battle.

DOES NOT WORK WITH 2024 LYRIQ!. This app is extremely frustrating! I want to start off by saying that I’ve already been in contact with the EV concierge numerous times. I’ve even spoken with On Star, so please do not reply with canned statements about contacting you for support. I have a 2024 Lyriq Sport 1 AWD, and I can count on one hand how many times I was able to remote start my vehicle, lock/unlock the doors or check tire pressure. You almost ALWAYS have to delete the app and reinstall in order to send a command that works. People are actually paying for this monthly, and it is absolute trash. With that being said, I’ve never had any issues with the app when I had my 2020 XT6. It worked every time with no complications. I honestly think it’s an issue with the faulty software within the Lyriq. When the app tries to connect to the vehicle, it always comes back with an error. GM, please address the countless bugs in the Lyriq as well as the MyCadillac app. This app seems to get frequent updates, and the Lyriq should receive the same. You all are charging top dollar for these vehicles and claim to be “The Standard of the World”, please do your due diligence and live up to it.

myCadillac vs. Tesla app. GM, please hire all the recently laid off Tesla employees from software development/app development and use them to fix the app. I have the Lyriq and for a car this expensive, the app needs major work. It’s horrendously slow, the map function doesn’t let me add a home or work address, any commands I send to the car only work half the time and if they do, it takes far too long for the car to respond to the command. A giant conglomerate like GM should’ve released a perfectly functional app years ago. I had the app with my previous XT5 and it still barely worked then so I never paid for it past the promotional period from purchasing the new car. With the release of a new model vehicle and it being electric, I expected a lot more. Please invest in your employees and dev team.

Unless you pay for OnStar, not very useful at all, and even then not very useful.. The app is pretty much useless unless you pay for the expensive monthly OnStar service. With today’s technology built into phones and watches, especially Apple products, OnStar is quickly becoming an obsolete product. I don’t need it to call emergency services if I’m in an accident, my phone and or watch can automatically do that for me. I don’t need it to track the location of my car, a one time payment for an AirTag can do that for me. So basically this app is useful for only being a remote if I am out of range of the key fob. Or the one very useful feature of showing everywhere the car had been driven if you handed the keys over to someone else…if you were not already tracking it live with the AirTag.

APP STILL NOT WORKING SINCE iOS 14. I presently own 2 new Cadillacs, and have owned Cadillacs for decades. Until recently, I have loved this app, starting my car from my watch, checking fuel level and tire pressure from my iPhone, etc. Since iOS 14, I keep getting the “white screen of death” so many reviewers here have spoken of. I am running the latest version 4.4.0 which was released only a week ago. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app several times to no avail. In a little over a year, Cadillac will be trying to sell me a battery powered car with wonderful new over-the-air features. How can they possible look me in the eye and tell me how wonderful it will be when they can’t get this simple app to work? I was excited for a Lyriq until this... Cadillac: Please help and fix this app! It will go to restoring some faith for the future...

THANK YOU - Bring back LOCATE VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!. THANK YOU!!!! I truly appreciate that you listened to our feedback about this function. Thank you for bringing back this to our app. I hope others appreciate your diligence in working to make the app great for us. It’s easy to complain about things and it spreads like crazy. I wanted to also REJOICE and say THANK YOU and hope that spreads just as rapidly. The following HAS been corrected and was my original post - Please get RID of set location!!!!!!!! It does nothing!!!!!!!!! Bring back LOCATE VEHICLE!!!!!! SET LOCATION has killed the app. Please bring back LOCATE VEHICLE as in find it where ever it is like other apps. This “update” does nothing.

Used to be good. When I first got my Cadillac in 2015 I started using this app and it was easy to use and worked really well then with all the updates that they’ve done over the past years and especially this one they did a week ago now I have to have the biometrics on my phone turned on to be able to stay logged in. Now if I want to get into my app I have to login with my email and password every single time just not worth it. Cancel my service

Update wasn’t ready. After the latest update to the myCadillac app, i noticed that when i try to use the application on my Apple Watch it just tells me to sign in on my phone. Even though the phone is unlocked and signed in. Also, i noticed that the FaceID option does NOT work for the new application as i have to type my PIN in every time. I’m not too thrilled the ability to see where my vehicles are at on the map has been removed as well. I enjoyed that feature for peace of mind. I enjoyed the application before this new update as it was 100% functional. The new layout is beautiful, but only if it worked as it should.

Comprised account. My wife and I spent at least 6 hours dealing with Onstar. Our Cadillac app was comprised. We were never contacted about a change. Have been customers of GM/Onstar since Onstar started. I was transferred to 4 different reps who said the next rep would fix the issue. Very time consuming and frustrating. It appears this app was updated, we could not log into our account. When calling Onstar they indicated we were not authorized users - so they did not want to help us. They could not tell us when the new user took over the account. This is a MAJOR security breach. I am nervous about what days the bad guys may have. Be careful

My Cadillac. I previously place a complaint with about my plan I went to use navigation and was told I didn’t have it but they gave me a one time use. When I called and explained my story to customer service he not only assured me I had it and for my problem gave me 2 free months. A week later I went to use it was told I don’t have it trying to keep my composure with the service rep that I couldn’t understand one word they were saying because of language barrier I asked for manager on which I was on hold for over 20 mins only to be disconnected worst service I have ever had with this that I pay $50 a month for nothing never again

Awesomeness. We love this vehicle we purchased it out of necessities our son has cancer and we drive him every 3 weeks to Goodyear Arizona for his treatments the comfort of this vehicle is amazing not just for him but my husband and I we are constantly learning new features we are extremely happy with our decision to purchase I would definitely recommend the ESCALADE Whoever designed all the extra features needs a raise , life became less stressful for this back and forth driving Thank you

Missed the mark. I hope an update comes soon. 3/5 bc the app does most of the basics: service interval status, lock/unlock, lights/alarm, etc. On the other hand, it’s rather slow: idk why you have to hold the button so long & it doesn’t seem to register many times: “keep holding button” shows up; as a test, I kept holding for 30 secs & the message remained. Sure, let off the button & try again usually (but not always) works… but if it can tell the button is being pressed, then why doesn’t it work the first time? Once it does register, it takes 10-30s for the door to unlock. My 3 previous cars took the action right away (1-3s). Also weird statuses occur: “fuel 40%, 0 mi until empty”; this is the reading as I type this.

Updates and support. It’s now been well over a month since the last update to this app. I have hadn’t an update to my 24’ Lyriq since mid last year. With so many little bugs and app communication issues - what is happening? Have yall stopped supporting this brand new vehicle? Basic things we’d expect in a luxury car like dog mode… not only can I not leave the pups in the car in the hot months, but the car alarm goes off with them in there when they are which is highly annoying. Onstar blows me up saying my car is being stolen for a day after. What is happening? Please, get these issues worked out. Love this car but I likely will be switching cars because the utter lack of updates to owner wide persistent bugs.

Love my Caddy!! “Patsy the Cadillac”. Love Love Love!!! This car rides so smooth! I have nerve disease in my left arm and leg and suffer from a lot of pain. I fortunately knew the previous owners and got this car at a steal of a price!!! Otherwise it would’ve been out of my price range FOR SURE!!! But the App, and ride is just SUPERB!! I absolutely love this vehicle. General Motors “Cadillac”, give yourselves a pat on the back! She’s a beauty! I hope to hit 500,000 miles with this beauty! “Patsy the Cadillac”, GOD WILLING, will hopefully give me no issues along the way besides breaks, tires, and oil change! I want this car to really show how great American Made Vehicles are! God Bless the U.S.A Cadillac “General Motors” and this beautiful car and well designed app. LOVE IT!!! LOL, sorry for rambling on… I just love it! Best car I’ve ever owned next to my previous Jeep sadly hit by a drunk driver… But “Patsy the Cadillac” is by far my all time FAV! Thank you again Cadillac and General Motors! 2015 Cadillac SRX Luxury AWD 3.6 is a DREAM COME TRUE! -Garrett L God Bless!

Poorly tested, underwhelming app filled with bugs. Repeated issues that generic a non-specific generic error “An unexpected error has occurred. Check for an app update.” Sometimes the unlock or lock button remains frozen after using it, closing the app and then re-opening the app. Does not work well for modern drivers such as myself who have a Metromile receiver in the D-link port (had this in my Benz prior without any issues). Again, gives a continuous error/alert status under “Vehicle Status” and the “solution” displayed does not work. Pretty ridiculous and disappointing experience while trying to use this app with my 2020 Escalade. I definitely expected much better, I sure hope Cadillac/GM reads reviews and gets this stuff fixed. It’s extremely annoying. Also, why does the app not display locked/unlocked status on open (even if you open app and take no action)? Very frustrating not being able to see current status like that. Many other manufacturers apps have this, such as Volvo’s app (which is phenomenal based on personal experience).

Can’t always sign in and doesn’t stay signed in. Just had an update to my Cadillac Navigation and now can’t sign into the Cadillac app. And of course no number to call to get this fixed. Also, I have to put in my email and password every time I use the app! Very frustrating— the app does not hold the email address and password (although I lit is suppose to) requiring me to enter the information each time. The app is supposed to leave you signed in for 365 days!!! Doesn’t work! “When” the app works it is great to see the maintenance status and start the car on cold days from in the house.

Hmmmm. Reading through quite a few five star reviews where they should have been one or two stars may reflect the glitches that have been described by users of this app. I find the app to be unreliable. Examples-1) stating that OnStar is experiencing a problem and to make an appt to only find out that after restarting the app the warning goes away 2) upon getting the notification about OnStar and making an appt to only find that the dealership I made the appt with through the app has no record of me making that appt 3) the remote features like starting the car or unlocking works about 50% of the time 4) it takes about 2-3 minutes for the app to refresh an eternity when you are on your phone 5) when my alarm went off a couple of times I never did get a notification of this happening 6) surprisingly enough purchases through the app work flawlessly. My wife owns a BMW iX and their app is far superior to this one in so many ways. I love my Lyriq but the app deadens the experience. If this app worked as well as BMW’s, you would have a stellar combination. Good luck!

Great app, but a couple of suggestions.... - Add the option to link Owner Center account to the Onstar account from within the app. > Most people don’t know that this is even a thing until it’s their first time setting it up and see the “Get Connected: Press the Blue Onstar Button to speak to an Advisor now!”. You can create an Owner Center account from the app, you should be able to link it as well. - Ability to update/change PIN within the app. > You used to be able to do it with the old layout. It’s be more convenient than needing to login to the Owner Center to do it. Where’d that option go? - Make it so “Keep Me Signed In” option is available/possible without needing a Security PIN/Password/TouchID/FaceID on the phone, itself. > A lot of people, myself included, don’t have a password for our phones. It asks for the OnStar PIN anyways when sending Unlock/RemoteStart anyways. Why the extra steps without making it possible to opt out?

Lyriq Owner. When is this app going to be fixed? Can’t refresh the app without logging out and logging back in. With two factor authentication that is a cumbersome process. Wasn’t like this 6 months ago. Fix whatever you changed or roll it back. Enough is enough!!!!

Nonsense application. It is a nonsense application. It never works properly. I can not turn on my car from 5 meters away.

Still not working (ver 7.2.0). Edit to my previous review. This newest version has not solved the problem! in order to see the charge level on my car I need to delete the app, reinstall the app and re-login. And then it only works for one time.

Disappointing. I’ve tried many times and spent what seems like hours online with OnStar. Unfortunately the app has never worked for me.

Improvements. Would like to see the app supported by shortcuts, instead of having to go onto your Home Screen, we could be able to say “hey Siri… start my Cadillac”

Bugs and old app. You should either create a new app for the electric cars or update it a looooot honestly a looooot of room of improvement! It’s 2024 … 🤦and right now 2025 still no change !!

Terrible. Lyriq owner. One of the worst apps I have ever used. Vehicle updates never work unless you log out and back in. Controlling features of the car is hit or miss. At least enable us to login with Face ID so we can easily log out and back in. So frustrating because there are never any fixes.

Decent app but flawed. Not exactly a review but a general comment. Wouldn’t it be great if this thing would tell me if it my doors are locked or not? Seems like something that should be automatic instead of me forgetting if II led it and going through the process.

Slow. The app can’t get update from the car after latest upgrade! I’ve tried reinstalling the app and log out/in but no luck! This needs to be addressed asap

Schedule Starting. MyCadillac app needs to have “scheduled starts”. Since we pay for the app.

No Oil Life. After the last update, the Oil Life is no longer displayed on the app.

Non fonctionnel depuis 1 mois. Non fonctionnel depuis 1 mois

Update. The app has not been up to date

Very poor support. I can understand that when you bring a new app to the market or even a new version of it, the app might have bugs. The problem I have with this refresh of the recharge status on my Lyriq that is not working, is that it takes for ever to fix.. I am very unhappy with GM response time to address and fix application problems….

App. App design mess up looks unprofessional i am designer I will never design an app looking like this. Its boring previous design looks better than this. They updated to bold text categories are big no futuristic colours just blue ambient lighting. Designer should be fired.

Shame. GM should be a shame about such a EXTREMELY bad application. Always something not working. We should raise a lemon lawn suite.

Does not update and remote start. I have to offload the app and reload the app again everyday to make my car remote start in morning , it just works 1 time by giving signal to vehicle after installing . Please find a fix asap ,

Ok but not great. Has some glitchy connection issues between app and vehicle. Refresh does not work in the latest update (as of Sept/24), handoff of troubleshooting between Cadillac and Onstar is inconsistent

Hire some college students to fix this!. It is quite shocking how bad this app is. Honestly, it’s just software! His many times per week should a user expect to de-install and re-install an app to have it update vehicle status or many other functions? Onstar/EV concierge has this as the first line of support. Please hire some college programmers, give them a case of beer and a weekend to fix it!

Looks pretty…but lacks. We Have a brand new LYRIQ. App looks good, but works poorly compared to the ford app using with my ford lightning. Lyriq charge info never refreshes. App is lacking the remote parking feature and digital key feature as described in the owners manual. Not impressed. I sure hope Cadillac is dedicated to improving this in the near future.

Best Ride. We truly have enjoyed the CT5 Sport . The service dealership has taken great care of us

Does not update %. Doesn’t update the status of my Cadillac lyriq .From past 5 days it show same percentage of the battery.

Vehicle update. This app I ie not working

Never responds. Times out nearly every time I try to send commands. Useless remote functions.

Terrible. App does not update vehicle information unless you log out and back in again, and sometimes even log in and out does not work, you have to delete and reinstall the app for it to work TEMPORARILY and it goes right back to original glitch. Frustrating to use! Needs to be fixed ASAP

Needs update. I think this app worked alright at the start. It would not update to show what the charge on my car was so I’d have to log out and then log back in every day for it to update. Now for the past 2 months approximately, I not only have to log out but I have to type in my email (no prompt given to choose), then type password (prompt given) and then retrieve the verification code from my email, copy and then paste that into the app and then wait for it to connect and update the information. Suuuuper annoying just to see if I need to charge.

What happened?!. App used to work for my 2019 and now it’s useless. No lock function. No map. All it keeps asking me to do is activate OnStar. So upsetting.

App Bugs. This app really sucks for EV vehicles, you no longer can get updates on your current battery percentage and the range. It seems like every time you try to press refresh button it doesn’t do anything or doesn’t call to the vehicle to get an update. It’s been broken since iOS 18 and doesn’t look like there is any initiative to get this fixed. Even logging out and logging back into the app doesn’t do anything. I’ve also attempted to reinstall the app. Log out log back in and still no success. It says last updated 32 days ago. Also would love to have the ability to see the status of the windows and doors, example to see if a window is open up her door was left open

Worst App Ever. Since first day I bought my Lyriq app doesn’t work. OnStar and Cadillac team are supposedly working on it but no resolution for me.

Needs work. What is the point when the app won’t update without deleting the app and reinstalling? I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to fix. Come on GM, give us a little bit of effort here, looks like you have known about this for a long time.

App is terrible. Lyriq owner and for EV owners this app is a hot mess. It never syncs with my car and will not update current charge level or activity. Only fix so far is to log out and back in, which is a pain given that it insists on 2fa through your email. Onstar support is a waste of time as they can never fix the issue. GM/chevy needs to revamp this app given the growth of the EV population.

Charge Status. The charge status on the app has not worked since I purchased the car in September. Called Onstar several times and they always say the case is with a level 3 tech. Do better GM!

Awesomeness. Great service and application. Love it. Even when I lock my keys in the car I can open my car remotely

Slow communication. Very slow communication with vehicle. Takes several attempts to change charge level when travelling. Sometimes over 5 times. Also sometimes doesn’t change unless you shut off cell and app, then restart. Long way to go to catch Tesla and their app.

Cadillac Optiq. The maps section and the charging apps integration need a lot of work.

Getting better. This app in it’s current version has gotten a lot better. It is now interrogating the servers much more consistently and I’m grateful for it. It’s a great addition to your vehicle and you shouldn’t give it any thought whether or not you should download this it should be done as you’ll enjoy the overall experience. It still could be better yet…..in that it could display the interior temperature as well as the exterior temperature. That information would prove to be very useful when preconditioning your vehicle. Also, Dynamic GPS in your vehicle would be a welcome addition. That way it could prompt you to open your garage door when you approach your house or implement other convenience features that are location based.

More control. The app does the job, but what I’d like to see is more control for the climate controls. The ability to turn on which vents the heat or cold air come out of would be nice. Setting the level for the heated or ventilated seats as well.

Horrible new format. What happened to vehicle tracking???? Gone with the last update. New format is useless

App not updating.. My app hasn’t updated in the last 5 days.

Charge status finally works with my LYRIQ!. There was a period of time where the app would only display the charge status from the last time that you logged in. I’m happy to report that this issue has been resolved (for me at least)! With that fixed everything seems to work well.

2025 Lyriq. Coming from a Tesla, this app is light years behind. Glitchy, won’t update vehicle status, can’t schedule a charge, can’t see charge status, can’t check lock/unlocked status. Looks good but just piss poor functionality. Hope GM does a major reboot. Almost useless at this stage

Schedule start. Would be nice to operate more functions. Would also be nice to have schedule starting and more ability to start more times when the temperature is really cold. Having a diesel it needs a bit more time to warm up at -35c

Horrible app. App won't work half of the time. It won't show some basic stuff like "is my car locked?, is climate running?" What a joke. Also, don't know who uses kpa in north America. So I'm in Canada, have to use metric and they force me to use kpa for tire pressure. That is what I call lazy developers. Suggetion for you guys, take a look in other companies, get the good ideas and fix this

Nice look, slow response.. The app looks nice, but it’s very slow. The start button often fails on the first try, along with the other commands. The Charge Management feature is also very subpar. You can’t change the charge level or start charging, or change the schedule through the app. You have to go out to you car to do these. You have to set up charging alerts to either come through via text or email, and do not notify you through the app directly. The app is mediocre at best. This is where I’d argue that Tesla has them beat - their app is great and gives you more control over the features of the car.

2nd or 3rd times the charm. The app simply does not work of the first instance. Almost without fail, you get a “Failed” response when trying to start your car. Then after closing and reopening the app you hope that it works… then again, maybe the third time. This app used to work, then completely stopped working, and now just won’t work on the first time. The app needs a serious update.

dont show if a windows is open like volvo and ford app. add windows features to are if open

TOS every time I open this... Good other than the TOS agreement every time i open it

This app is not working, what the hell, because my car brand new. This app is not working, what the hell, because my car is brand new 😞

The best in the world. ok

Terrible for Lyriq. How does this app have so many good reviews? It’s a terrible app that constantly needs to be unloaded/reloaded to find the car and do anything. Login, log out, login, logout. Has been a problem since the beginning on the Lyric and GM does nothing. Great car, app is a piece of junk.

Why even try?. This app is good for nothing. I use and it and never registers to do anything with my car. I push the start and the icon spins for 3 minutes before I just get in my car. The rest of the options are just as useless. I don’t understand what it is. I have stood directly beside the car to see if there was some kinda reception issue between the car and nothing. I tried on my Apple Watch and nothing. I literally have deleted and re downloaded this app to see if it was a problem with my app and nothing. Please fix this. I’m pretty upset that I can’t use one of the greatest features this car has.

Good, could be better. Aesthetically pleasing, has good read outs on vehicle status. But.... I would say that half the time, my Escalade doesn't start with the app. Also very irritating that there is no positive feedback such as "your vehicle successfully locked/unlocked/started" Even my Ford app does this. How can a free app and remote service from Ford work and interact better than an app that you must have a subscription for after you paid WAY more for that luxury vehicle. 🙄 Disappointing really, you should get more included for buying a luxury vehicle, not pay even more for things that other car companies offer for free for the life of the vehicle. Once my free service is up, I will likely not renew it if things don't improve some.

Mr Al Lopez. Visited your dealership on April 21 looking for a new car with reservations about the whole car buying experience, was pleasantly surprised with my salesperson Cody Styles, very professional, accomadating, knowledgeable and very helpful, not what I was expecting! He answered all our questions and worked with us to the point that we ended up leading Premium Luxury XT-4, he deserves a 10 plus rating as far as we are concerned! Love the car! Al and Eva Lopez

Great if you have the correct IPhone. This app works great as long as you don’t have an iPhone 6!! This app just stopped working on my iPhone 6 and it took me sometime to figure out that the problem was that the IOS of my iPhone 6 is 12.4 and the “new” upgraded app works only in iPhone release 13 and higher. I should not have to buy a new phone for the app to continue to work!!!

Pretty Useless App. I’m a new 2024 LYRIQ owner - we own a 2029 XT5 and I used to drive a 2017 CTS. If I could give the app 0 stars, I would. It’s disappointing because overall the car is outstanding. But the app is a waste of time. Compared to the 2021 polestar I used to own this app has zero useful functionality. Beyond the fact that a company the size of GM can’t figure out a digital key system that works, even basic functions like checking the status of my charge in the garage take forever - sometimes as long as 5 minutes before I get an update. Then sometimes I get an error that says the car needs to be started to get an update. Same with unlocking and locking the door - it can take as long as 30 seconds or more for the command to get to the car. I’ve tried signing out and back in, I’ve tried signing out, rebooting the phone and going through the set up all over again. No change. It’s kind of shocking that a company (polestar) that’s teetering and trying to stay alive can out engineer a 100+ year old company.

App doesn’t work. With EV’s, one of the biggest parts of the experience is the app. And this one falls on its face. I’ve been using this app for the last 5 years, and it’s always been horrible. GM can’t figure this thing out in 5 years? Really? 5 years? Who are their software engineers? Cadillac, your app is an absolute embarrassment. Update: got a response from the developer asking me to email and provided and address. EVERYONE IS SAYING THE SAME THING!!! Your app doesn’t work properly and it hasn’t for YEARS. What could you possibly tell me in an email that you can’t say publicly. 75K for a car and can’t seem to find the talent to fix an app. Again. You guys should be embarrassed…

Why Pay Now????!!!. Please explain to me why now I have to pay to get access to this App when I never had to since 2016?! It is absolutely ridiculous that Myself and others have to pay for Onstar just to use the remote from our phones. Did you not consider that Cadillac owners have been using this app for years for FREE….. Also once a Cadillac owner always a Cadillac owner… may have to venture elsewhere for my next vehicle purchase. Shame on you! It’s perfectly okay since the Cadillac’s now a days do not ride “float” like they used to. Stop cutting corners especially since you already have a loyal base!

Must start remotely. Wife cannot start the Casdi due to the key availability at her babysitting job. Maybe the criminals will steal them? I can start it for her so she is warm and cozy on these frigid winter nights. , my wife Seems to work without exception. My wife cannot start the Caddi from work as she doesn’t have her keys with her until works where she cannot have her mobile phone, hence she cannot remotely start the Caddy early. I can from anywhere in the world. It’s the small things I guess...

Useless. This app is completely useless for my $90,000 Escalade, you would think I paid enough for this vehicle that GM wouldn’t ask me to pay another fee to use an app. On star is crap, it has nothing my smart phone doesn’t have that is worth paying a fee to use. It used to work great for my $68,000 Silverado, but after 5 years GM shut it off and now there is nothing I can find that is useful accept scheduling an appointment for some dopey maintenance they think I need, like replacing all my coolant! I’m deleting both the Cadillac and Chevrolet apps, cannot find a single use for keeping them on my iPhone!

MyCadillac app now worthless. What did you do to this app? It’s literally worthless now. I can’t use it to do anything or get any useful information. I’ve been using the App since 2015 on my new 2015 Escalade. Over the years, the app was continually improving, but began to have releases that were getting worse; not better. I’m using this latest version on my new 2020 Escalade and as I said, it’s now totally worthless. If it stays this way, I’ll stop paying the large premium for the service, unless I can use OnStar’s equivalent app.

App never works. Every single day I try to use this app and it never works. I have to delete it and reinstall and repeat this day after day. No exaggeration. The old version of the app was amazing and I never had an issue. This iteration will make me cancel my remote subscription since the remote start is ALL I use it for. So disappointed.

Buggy. The first version of the app worked very well. Then they just had to update it. The next release crashed every time it launched, requiring it to be force quit and then relaunched, as an added aggravation credentials needed to be entered again. The latest update seems to run, but no longer has the remote start ability on any of my 4 equipped vehicles. I have deleted and re installed the app and all data several times, have removed the companion app from my Apple Watch, and still issues remain. I have never had so many issues with an app.

Used to be a good app.. The original app that has worked for over a year was replaced by a piece of real crap. In the past you could press a button to start the vehicle and it always worked. Now you have to log in each time and then hold the start button to get it to send. Out of more than 50 times trying to use the new and improved app, I have gotten it to work three times always after more than three attempts. Also I have never gotten it to unlock the vehicle. Now it has also stopped communicating with the car so all the info on tires and mileage not available. When it comes time to renew I will NOT be renewing this service.

Length of service on the remote app.. Not very happy after spending a considerable amount if money on a new car. The remote app service is only for several months and then they want to charge you for it after that. There were many cars in consideration for the purchase. I more than likely would have made another decision. My 2016 Gm truck is for at-least 5 years long. General Motors is getting cheap with amenities on a high end car.

Cadillac App does not work well with EV (Lyriq). The My Cadillac App has serious issues when linking with the EV vehicles. The vehicle and app do not communicate with each other. It is important for the app to work so you can manage charging the vehicle and check the charge status. Most times the app does not work for these options. GM you can do better. Ford has their Ford Pass app for the Mach E. It works flawlessly with the Ford EV platforms. We expect more from a GM product and especially when it comes to a Cadillac. In addition I also have a Chevrolet and the My Chevrolet app. It works fine for the truck.

Cadillac Lyric App. I’m disappointed with this app in regards to our new 2024 Sport Lyric. - The app has a long lagg time. It takes a decent amount of time for the charger to update - The app doesn’t allow you to set the battery percentage for charging the Lyric. You have to get in the car every time if you want to change the settings. - The app doesn’t allow you to turn on the AC to cool the car off prior to getting in or give allow you to select a desired temperature for the car. You actually have to turn the car on from the app. - The settings for the departure time in the app keep messing up. When I go to set the Monday - Sunday departure schedule my times don’t save. - Most all electric car brands have these standard features in their app. I feel that the app needs a big update.

Slow, useless and drains battery. I started using it on my Cadillac LYRIQ. The app takes a lot of time to retrieve information from the car, burns the phone battery while running in the background and shows “installing” constantly when there are no obvious signs on my car that any new software is being installed. It also lacks any feature to change the charging or any settings on the car. The map integration is bad as well and useless. Instead of Google or Apple Maps, it uses Here map, whereas the car uses installed Google maps, so this makes impossible to use it.

Deceiving. I never write reviews on apps but this one has irritated me enough to do one. Why call it a “Cadillac app” when it’s just on-star? This is a cheap blow to Cadillac owners who have spent more than enough money to THEN spend more money to use a remote app that comes FREE with other vehicles. Cadillac key fob remote doesn’t work unless you are basically in front of it. We spent a lot of money for a luxury vehicle to only receive dollar store customer service. Make it make sense, why are we penny pinching customers? I’ll go out of my way to buy an aftermarket remote before waisting more money on a app that works “sometimes”. Very disappointing

Remote start feature unavailable. The ‘remote start’ feature on the app has been unavailable for some reason since the last update. I used to be able to push and hold the center button to start my vehicle, and now it just says “Off” by default and does nothing when I push or tap on it. It’s over 107° right now where I live on a regular basis and not being able to use the remote start feature to cool off my vehicle is rather frustrating and inconvenient to say the least. Please fix this.

Absolute trash. You should be ashamed of this complete dumpster fire of an app. Remote start has not worked one time for me, and the rest of it is slow to update, barely functional, and all GM does is use it to spam notifications trying to get you to spend more money. And where is phone as key? This was a promised feature of my Lyriq. GM’s software team is awful. You know this is awful—either find new jobs or make someone above you listen to you and fix this pathetic app that should probably be pulled from the App Store completely for a failure to do much of anything. I didn’t expect this to be on par with the Tesla app, but I expected basic functionality which this app does not deliver. Make remote start work or pull the app. I had a Lexus app 10 years ago I thought was garbage and now I wish MyCadillac was that good. The rotting corpse of Saturn doesn’t deserve this app, much less the luxury division.

Should add a no star rating….. This newest version is horrible, it rarely loads and if it does, the information is not up to date. Part of my paying for the plan I have is to have real time date shared between my vehicle and my device. When working, I love the features, but since it’s never working now, it’s a waste of my money. I’ll be changing my subscription type going forward.

Cadillac getting involved with original Onstar. Absolutely horrible since Cadillac pushed their way into Onstar who handled it exclusively. I used to get monthly diagnostic reports for my car, which were really appreciated. I haven’t seen one in a year since Cadillac took over. I pay the highest premium and I have no idea what that covers now. It seems just the opportunity to buy minutes for my car phone. That makes those minutes incredibly expensive. Onstar did such an amazing job before Cadillac showed up. It is becoming clear that my review won’t post with one star.

Gradually improving, features removed. Since sending this, I get a notification at least once a day stating: You’ve received a developer response to your review of myCadillac Please make it stop! ——————————- All of the GM apps have been terrible. I had a 2020 Bolt and the app was mostly useless. Fast forward to 2023 and the same app with a different color was the Cadillac app. It was still terrible. They have made many revisions in the last 2 years. They took away the Apple Watch companion, which is a major loss. They took away the Updates History. The app has finally begun to work a bit better as of March 2025. I would never pay to use it, as it really isn’t that reliable to warrant a fee. Maybe they can hire on some Tesla engineers to make it more useful and functional.

Broken App. New update 2 days ago, same drama with the app not syncing with the Lyriq. Owners can’t see remaining charge/mileage. Maybe if we wait and let the app sit for a few minutes, we might get the data. And that’s a strong maybe. Already sent pictures and videos to your technical team as requested, but of course nobody ever responded back to me. Same with the myGMC app, there is no fix in sight anytime soon, unfortunately. $72,000 later and we have a new electric Cadillac and a non-functional app. Super sad. If you sort app reviews by most recent, you will see dozens and dozens of reviews with the exact same concern. Why isn’t this being addressed by Cadillac/GMC?

Awesome app. [Update!!!] The app is amazing. I pull out my Apple Watch and can start my car from anywhere. Now that the technology has changed (LTE Apple Watch and even WiFi mode on non cellular models) you guys just need to update the app to work without the phone and just the watch. Keep up the good work. [Original post] I traded my 09 CTS for a 13 ATS just so I could use this app and remote start from my phone. The only thing missing is Apple Watch support. Developers make this app work for Apple Watch please. I want to unlock and start my car without pulling out my phone.

Needs an overhaul after the format changed to being unusable. This app used to be great. After the last update, the app as trash. And holding the buttons down is very, very time consuming and halfway works. Most of the time you have to let go and try to restart up to four times. I usually end up going to get my keys since this feature is horrible after the update. Please change to a different model or I'll have to cancel and keep my money until you come up with something that doesn't require me holding longer than what it takes to find and hold my keys instead. This is horrible. The facial recognition also doesn't stay on.

Update made app unusable. Unable to find some place to request assistance so leaving review. With this latest update cannot longer access my vehicle via the app. Error message that perhaps a third-party diversion and I needed to uninstall and reinstall, which I did and now it won’t even let me sign in. Needs another update apparently

Follow up to developers response. The response from the developer is all you need to know to understand how important tech development is for Cadillac: “please contact our PR department”. I am very curious how come there are so many 4 or 5 stars reviews. I think either users reviewed as soon as they got the app before actually experience the problems, or they are fake. I am sure this terrible performance is not unique to the version or build or the app I develop. If this app were about any other service (and not your vehicle) you would erase it from your phone and never use it again.

Need to fix glitches. Today I renew my subscription and that caused my current description to be de-active. Therefore, I had to call back cancel my renewed subscription so that my current subscription would be active again. Please fix that because nobody should be penalized with inactive services just because they are proactive and took the initiative to renew their services for another year before the current service ended.

App suitable for Edsel not a Cadillac. This app can do very little correctly and when it does it takes several minutes to do it. Most of the time it just says it failed or worst yet it will tell you to go turn car on and off. The whole idea of auto start is that you don’t need to go out in the cold and start your car! Most companies would be embarrassed to look through these reviews going back at least 6 months and seeing nothing but 1 star reviews and as many empty promises to fix this app problems. Do we need to start a donation fund to Cadillac to help them fix this app!!!!!!

App no longer works after update…. I have enjoyed the app for 3 years with the exception of randomly having to sign back in every now and then. It seems now, after the apps update, the app fails to update my vehicle status and I can no longer remotely access my vehicle. Very frustrating since I am paying for this ability!

2024 Lyriq. Has never worked with my new car. I called dealer and they told me to call EV concierge. Called them and they told me to call OnStar. Called them and they walked me through many ways to see if we could get it to work and couldn’t. They said they have never had this issue before but clearly after looking at reviews this app had this issue with this car. Soooo they put in a “ticket” and would get back with me and that was over a month ago. Guess I am out of luck with the app and may just trade off the car as I need the app to work with charging stats and auto-start. Disappointed.

Slow to update. I own a 2024 Lyriq and the feature of this app that I find most useful is the battery status (% charged, plugged in status, and time to full charge). Unfortunately, it often takes the app over a minute to update the status. The app also consumes a tremendous amount of iPhone battery power while waiting for an update, causing the phone to get very warm. My expectation would be that a modern app connected to a modern vehicle would take a second or two to update, and ideally would prove real time and historical information on the EV battery charging process. I realize that limitations may be due to GM’s use of apparently obsolete and/or overloaded OnStar communication technology, since all traditional OnStar remote vehicle control features also have this unacceptable lag / delay. In my opinion, it is inexcusable to force the customers to suffer this lag when the vehicle has a high speed data plan with AT&T and is also connected to our home WiFi network.

Doesn’t work. The app was working just fine last week. Then it updated and it won’t load. After it asks for login and password, it starts to load, then asks you to login again. When I log back in it tells me that I need to update the app. It is updated. I have deleted the app and re-installed it. Still won’t work. I see in other reviews basically the same thing. Then they’re told to email an address which is the same, but different subject lines. One would think with all the problems that it would just get fixed. Maybe it’s time to cancel the subscription since the app no longer works.

Lyriq Owner. The Cadillac app is terrible. If Tesla can figure out how to have live connections and vehicle information … GM is a juggernaut and surely can at the least match what Tesla can do with an app. Charge data is delayed significantly and no current rate of charge receiving when plugged in. The phrase “The Cadillac” of anything is universally understood as the best of something … do better Cadillac with the app for this amazing vehicle … and while you’re at it get us access to Superchargers so we can take road trips please!

My Cadillac App. The ease of use, the absolute accuracy, the immediacy and assurance is beyond no others. Security is of upmost importance, with the Cadillac GM Technology the vehicle is just that, secure. GM is changing the entire industry with APP technology communications to vehicles, vehicle to vehicle, Autonomous transportation-I’m a older generation guy, radio AM/FM-8track-cassette-CD-Bluetooth-MP3/4-SmartPhones, what I say:embrace it! It’s all about Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, Zero Congestion. Scary, but honestly it all makes sense. Electric and alternative propulsion lets do it as consumers

Fuel efficiency is wrong. I’ve complained about this twice over two months ago and although they say they’re working on it, it’s still goofy. One day last week it showed the correct efficiency (19.7) and today it’s back wacko (37.9). Everything else corresponds correctly but this gauge is goofy. I’ve done as you requested. This is a total of at least 10 times and the fuel efficiency is still stuck at 37.9.

Update is not great. I have one complaint. WHAT HAPPENED TO VEHICLE LOCATE!!! Please bring this back. The app has a few bugs. When I press the more feature there is a white screen. But seriously bring back vehicle locate. This was a great feature especially when you have young adults in the house. I need to know if my car moves from my garage and to always know where it is.

Was good, but now it’s not. I’m the type of person that lives by “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” First, I would constantly have to sign in every time I tried using the app and now I have this shop accessories message in the front of the key fob and CANNOT get it off; thus, I can’t use the fob. Very frustrating as I used this feature daily, especially in the morning to warm the car up for the kids and I… I tried waiting a couple of weeks to see if there would be a bug fix update, but still nothing. I will give it one more week and then I’m cancelling. Furthermore, I’m embarrassed that I have over $100k Escalade and my co-worker has a Ford Escape and has 0 issues with their app. Ughhh

Great App. Since my vehicle is meant to be keyless, searching for my keys to use the remote starter and having to be in a certain range defeats the purpose to me, and also is the reason I LOVE this app so much! I most always have my phone in hand and starting my vehicle plus sending navigation coordinates is as simple as ABC!!! The reason I’ve given 4stars and not 5 is because it does sometimes lag and takes a while to start or will give an error message here and there(iPhone XS)

Great app needs some work. I truly like my Cadillac app start my car in the morning it unlocks it if I need to one time when my car was going to be towed it notified me that the alarm has gone off one problem I continue to have is every morning when I go to start my car I have to login to the app and it’s pretty annoying it makes me want to make a shorter password due to the glitch in the system other than that it’s a great app

Cadillac Escalade. As a first-time user, this is the worst experience ever. I have been trying to activate my Onstar feature for 2 weeks, for some reason I can’t get it work. They kept telling me we have to get you to a a senior technical support. Finally 2 weeks later a senior technical support contacted and stated the issue been solved, we updated the system and the error message disappeared. Now you can go to your vehicle and call us so we can set it up. I called from my vehicle still the same issue nothing is working. Since I called from my vehicle they keep telling me to hang up and call back again coz they can’t transfer my call.

Life-saving in the cold weather. I have to work outside the horrible weather as I am a construction worker. I park a great distance from my worksite and I am bussed in. In the morning when I park the car, I set the temperature in the car the fan speed, and the heat element on the seat. This allows me to start my car from anywhere and so by the time I get to my car on a cold and nasty day I get in and the car is already comfortable. Since I do not appreciate cold weather, anything that brings warmth and comfort to me is a lifesaver. I love the myCadillac app.

Worked great until it didn’t. The app is absolutely useless for me now after about a year of seamless use. When I log in there is an overlay about shopping for accessories that covers the remote actions to start/unlock/lock. Clicking on it doesn’t make it go away. I also no longer see my vehicle stats like gas level, tire pressure, etc when I click on vehicle status. It takes me to a general menu. When reaching out to tech support they told me to log out and log back in using my password and not biometrics, didn’t work. I was then directed to uninstall then reinstall, still didn’t resolve the issue. So now I have a useless app, very frustrating.

Love my Cadillac and the app. I’m driving my third Cadillac SUV and I appreciate so many things about Cadillac but today convinced me I will be getting another when my lease is up in a month. I left my started car in my driveway while I ran some things into the house and mistakenly left my key fob in and left it in my house. I then drove off and got to my destination 45 minutes away and realized I didn’t have my key. I was able to start my car from the Cadillac app...Hallelujah!! Cadillac is the best!

App not working. This will be my 3rd time downloading this app on my iPhone 11. The Home screen often doesn’t show the remote start, door un/lock options. It just displays “All Good. No Issues” at the bottom of the screen. Your other choices are the external links. The Apple watch version only worked the first 2-3 days then it stopped. Even standing near the car it will not do anything; start/stop, lock/unlock.

Love the app but logs out randomly. I love the features of the app and it’s very useful. I do have an issue I think it may be a bug. I have it set to keep me logged in. I downloaded the Apple Watch app and randomly it keeps telling me I need to be logged in, meanwhile when I go to the app on the phone it’s logged in. Also occasionally when I long press the app or go to the more options it doesn’t work unless I sign out and sign back in. It’s something I’m sure they can fix.

Not where it should be. I have had the app for a few years now and was super excited to see technology at work. However I was super disappointed as they rarely update the app and it takes forever when using on AppleWatch. It often does NOT open or start the car. You have to hit the button numerous times before working. Also not supported with new AppleWatch home screen. Hopefully we will get an update to fix.

Cadillac App disappointment.. Wow, spend sooooo much on a Cadillac (XT5), and the only way to use what you want on the app, is to PAY for ONSTAR!! Why would I want a substandard navigation, pay for phone minutes, or even crash detection! Our phone already does all that, then we buy a vehicle that has Apple/Android Play. Wow, next you will want a monthly charge to use Apple play, use headed seats, or heated steering wheel. Need to lower cost of ONSTAR it you wish to keep people using it. The older non tech savvy people are going to be dropping odd and those who can use tech will not need it if priced wrong.

Locked unlocked. I really like the app over all, I don’t find it hard to use at all. The only thing about it that REALLY bothers me personally is that it doesn’t let me know if my car is locked or unlocked in the vehicle status section. It’s great that it tells me everything else but to make it even more convenient I should be able to check the app and see actually see the status of my car if it’s is locked or unlocked.
