• Shake to Shuffle: Can't decide on which tea to have? Simply give your iOS device a shake, and Tea will select one at random for you!

Nice app, could be better. The encyclopedia part of the app is what interested me, especially as it had a connected map feature which helps one visualize the geography and region of where the teas come from. I wish however the encyclopedia had some filters to search than a giant scroll down list. It could probably easily be added to help limit the searching to what someone may be looking for out of that list. Also the app could add other information like the terrior of the original growing region, and the main cultivars the plant originally came from. But overall this an amazing app for tea! Thank you to the creators

Love it!. It allows me to read up on the different types of teas at the Asian grocery store. I have found so many teas I like because of this app. I am so happy it has been updated. It works great now. THANK YOU!!!

Great Release. I'm using this far more than I ever thought I would! Great for managing loose samples and bulk teas alike. I'm using this chiefly as a way to keep track of my massive inventory, and it's making me realize how much more quickly I rotate through teas than I would have suspected. That said, it would probably help this function to have an easier interface for subtracting quantities without going through the brew screens (can be a hassle when a full kilogram is used in a single weekend or if tea is given as gifts), though adding to stock is very easy. [2.0 UPDATE: Much easier to toggle since original review - there was a temporary glitch where teas would only be brewed as bags, but it was quickly fixed] I like the teaware volume logging idea another reviewer mentioned, though in small wares (like tiny gaiwans, Yixing pots, or Sand Clay pots) leaf quantity can lead to significant irregular displacement. Would be cool to incorporate, though, and pictures could be added when the online portion is ready. Maybe the ability to save and apply presets will save the effort of typing in remembered values of mass, volume, etc. [2.0 UPDATE: This has now been incorporated, it is simple to augment the ratio for water displacement, and you can actually cycle through and easily edit your collection! The new "next time" feature also helps in this regard. It is a little too easy to accidentally delete a teapot when expanding it, though - an "Are you sure?" prompt would be useful.] A scroll bar to help in editing reviews or a finger-slide scroll in the text box area would be very nice. [2.0 UPDATE: Now added and works well in the new tasting notes history log, which I used to never use but I'm now going through really frequently!] Overall, much better than I could have hoped for in an initial release. Perhaps a red outline box around suggested values on the brew screen will help in returning from parameter deviations as well as highlight that the brew screen is more than just a timer. Can't wait for the online tie-in down the line! [2.0 UPDATE: Encyclopedia tie in adds a lot of content. Calling a little more attention to the search bar in that section may be useful - a reviewer below didn't see a tea that is in the app (Da Hong Pao) when he/she would have found the group it is in an entry with if typing in the search field, which rapidly cycles through search tags and sorts the entries for possible matches, even if just partial in nature. More future additions I hope for are support for comparative tasting, being able to hop from the encyclopedia to brewing by tapping the suggested brewing window, and the archiving ability other reviewers have suggested. Additions to the encyclopedia section are coming, but as for increased features of the actual entries, I look forward to the addition of suggested similar tea types, the ability to send a notice via multiple means like an email or Facebook post instead of just a reminder in the To Do list app, a way to expand the name of the tea group in question to see common types/aliases, the ability to sort by tea type or click on the type in a page to present like teas, and a quick way to add to the inventory straight from there. Happy with the new update and impressed with how quickly the bugs are being fixed as they are found and reported (though there aren't many, so not too many updates have been needed) - keep up the improvements!]

New to tea. I have recently gotten into learning about tea and I love the encyclopedia function and the ability to have and inventory of teas. I wish that the amount of tea in the inventory went down to 1 gram instead of starting at 10 since I have many sampler packs from teavivre. I still have to play with it some more but also wish that the brewing suggestions had specific gongfu instructions along with the western infusion method. Sometimes they are there but you really have to read into it. Also if you have F and C temperatures it would be nice to have ounces along with CC of water. Good app but think more could be done to justify 1.99 price.

A few things missing. This app is very good and very comprehensive. However, there are a few things missing. I would love to be able to add the option of more infusions each time I go back to a certain tea. I will often place my tea leaves in a bowl to let them dry and come back for a third, forth or fifth infusion the next day or so. The way the app is now you cannot add infusion notes after you're initial tasting of a tea which can throw my inventory calculations off. Also, it would be great to have some sort of feature to address the different methods of steeping, i.e. gaiwan, yixing, iron kettle (not recommended), tea ball, etc. At home I use certain methods of steeping but in my office I use other, quicker and easier methods. Adding this function would allow for a deeper more layered note taking that would encompass my entire tea drinking life. Lastly, the "type" section where you add a new tea, needs to include flavored teas, blends, and home-made blends.

Crash. Some nice features in this app. Being able to add my own notes is very important and this app offers that feature. However, every time I attempt to enter text the app crashes. So, for me this app is basically useless. Paid for junk.

Super little app. I love this app. It's fun and easy. I'm a semi-serious tea drinker with a pretty good collection which I'm finally able to inventory. The app is helping me pay better attention to my tea, instead of just dumping some leaf in a teapot and steeping it until I remember it's there and then just slurping it down I see other users asking for lots of new features, so i'll add my own: I wish I could post my reviews to blogspot. Finally, let me say that the customer service has been great. I've emailed Sam three sets of questions about the app and he's gotten back to me fast, within minutes. Buy this app!

Tea lovers companion. As a tea enthusiast, I've tried every tea timer for the iPhone. Once I tried this, I can't imagine using anything else. This app is clearly made for tea lovers, by tea lovers. It's obvious that the creators understand and respect tea. The app makes it perfect for folks to truly get the best cup of tea, just how they like it. It goes one step further, and allows you to get the full tea experience by recording notes about the brew, giving you time to reflect on the tea.

Needs some tweaks for five stars. Please add a Green (Korean) selection, or allow us to edit this ourselves to add categories important to us. For example, Korean tea (O'Sulloc) has taken awards at the Tea Expo in Las Vegas, and goes through a light toasting process that makes the tea taste quite different from Chinese or Japanese teas. It's also brewed differently. Also, I'd like to categorize teas under fruit infusions or rooibos, rather than just "herbal." Please, I'd also like to be able to edit the type of tea later on so I don't lose the data I already have when you make this change. Please offer tea-themed skins to make the appearance, a wood look, more appealing. The tea diary and access to Facebook are a nice touch; adding an optional location with notes would increase the usefulness as the ambiance of a tea house or tea tasting in a shop adds to a drinking experience. I agree that adding an extra main category on brewing method would be helpful, as well as the ability to add pictures.

Really like this app. Excellent interface Easy to use Enhancement requests: - Archive - Reminder to restock - stock overview - photo of your stock - rating - notes

Not bad but needs a lot of work. I find this a frustrating but nevertheless useful app. It is frustrating because it is extremely difficult to edit anything, including past events. For example, if you brew a tea for 30 seconds rather than the recommended 4 minutes, you cannot go back after the fact and change this in the log. Ditto for changing stock levels, etc. It is also far too cumbersome to get to the edit screen for already entered teas; typically it goes to the brewing screen for some reason. Also desirable is some sort of database or basic information, preferably with photos (perhaps in an iPad version). Right now it is really, really basic, especially for the price (essentially an advanced timer). Finally, please reformat for the iPhone 5 screen.

Best Overall Tea app!. This app does have issues, but I am more than happy to deal with them given what is offered with it: 🍵 Encyclopedia- very detailed with maps, season charts, photos, and guidelines 🍵 Tea timer- highly programmable with your chosen specifics; amount of tea, volume of water, steep time, temperature (C or F), and you can track your steeping pot or vessel to the point of a photographic representation of it. 🍵 Pantry function- for tracking your teas- very cool! 🍵 History tab- for all your past tea experiences Track your tea type, time, temperature, amount, water, pot, and everything is searchable! I’m also impressed with the clear understanding of Chinese teas and style of tea making that is still lacking with the other apps in the the store. It can be a little temperamental to use, but I have found those problems vanish now that I have been using it for a while (ex: I don’t use the camera icon in the app to try and take a photo because it will crash the app. I use my iPhone’s camera, then use the “Photo Library” selection to fetch the photo. Not a big deal). This is a great app for learning and growing one’s knowledge with tea making! If you are a casual tea drinker, you may not care, but for those exploring the realm of tea, this app is great!

Beautiful, useful. I am loving this app. It makes it simple to keep track of my tea, so I know what I have when I go to the tea shop. I am enjoying taking pictures of my brews, and taking notes, so I know what to do differently next time I brew a up. The encyclopedia is extensive and deep, and I am learning so much about different varieties of tea. The only quibble I have is that the timer itself is not as beautiful as the rest of the app. It would be nice to have the option of an hourglass or a pocket watch type of timer. Other than that, I am thrilled. This is a wonderful tool for any tea aficionado.

Random Tea Picker. Nice place to have all your teas recorded in one app. Wish there was a randomized tea picker.

At the risk. Update: September 8, 2011 Just noticed that you can record your stock of tea *bags* also! Awesome for me since I only have bags of tea at this point, but I'm also glad to know that I can keep a mix of some of my favorites in this app regardless of whether or not I've refined my own blend with the infuser yet or if I'd rather trust Twinings for a while longer  Original: At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, I didn't even know about using tea infusers or anything about tea other than steeping a bag in some hot water. Super excited about trying this app out in practice with my new (albeit cheap) infuser 

Simple and Useful Tea Brew App. Has all you would expect. Tea steep time, weight and temperature. Acts like a mini journal where you can rebrew what you like. Features are nice. I love the seasons added to each tea. Picture taking, rating and share feature oh the tea's you brew is a nice add on. Pictured Encyclopedia help me figure out which tea I had since I threw the bag and forgot. Extra points! I hope one day the Encyclopedia can expand and you can export recommended Brew. A brew time sharing community would be nice add on. Maybe this in not the app for that, but I wish tea blends could be recommended and shared. :D

Basically just a nice looking timer. Don't get me wrong, the UI design looks nice, but it's basically just a timer with the ability for you to leave a note. A tea diary? There is no info on tea! No origins to choose from (China, Ceylon, etc.) No styles to choose from (Green, Black, Oolong.) No brewing temp suggestions. No steeping suggestions. No tea vessel selections (Gaiwan, Yixing pot). Pre-steep rinse yes/no button… I could go on and on. What about using your camera to take/save/share pictures? I hope there are plans to add more to this app in the future. As an early adopter, it's an added bummer to see the price lowered twice already—and it just came out. For a great timer app check out Due.

Good timer. I'd like to see more out of this app. I appreciate the fact that there are brewing temperatures and an inventory tracker included. As a tea lover, I like anything from a really strong Assam to a Japanese gunpowder tea but I'd like to see tea serving suggestions. Or more definitively, recipes. Like how to prepare a good chai, iced sweet tea, etc. The world of tea isn't just one hot cup of earl grey after another. It's such a universal beverage that it would be a great thing to actually have more information included. I'm a fan of having information right at my fingertips through various apps, it would be great too if this app were more informative like an encyclopedia included about teas as well.

For the tea enthusiast, this app is well worth it!. Anyone with a ton of different teas around the house can easily have those off days, where one might forget the best time/temp, or when tired in the morning, it's easy to simply forget that you were steeping tea, while you're busy getting ready in the morning, only to remember and come back to an oversteeped green tea, now gone bitter. - This app solves that. This is also a great tool for tea shop owners. To make sure your employees prepare the tea just right, without having to memorize the usual 100 teas most tea bars have, simply have this app right there behind the counter for them as ipad or ipodtouch, and you'll forever be confident the tea is perfect.

Best Tea App for Serious Tea Drinkers. I’ve been using this app for years so before I updated my iOS devices to iOS 11 I had to resurrect my old old iPod Touch 4 to devote to this app. Now that the app has been updated I can use it on a device with a functional battery. Also, the encyclopedia is once again accessible. It has all the features that a serious tea drinker need. I can set up each variety of each tea I own e.g. an individual entry for each oolong. Then I can record the tea qty relative to the pot size and the app adjusts the qty for each pot i own. It remembers the time and temperature for each tea and then times each steep with the built in timer. I can adjust the brewing parameters for the next session which is helpful with new teas. Sometimes the features are hard to find, like adjusting the quantity of tea when you change the pot size, but they’re there and worth looking for.

Time for an update!. App worked brilliantly for years until I got an iPhone 6. MANY months later and it still crashes with almost every brew (especially if I try to attach photos or type brew notes). I'm afraid you have lost another loyal user. :(

Where's the encyclopedia?!?!. I bought this app for the encyclopedia function! I only have two functions, Tea and History! On the app store it shows an encyclopedia?! Plus when I go to app support it just reopens the app! Am I missing something?! Please help!!

Okay. ETA: you CAN delete things! I discovered this accidental while trying to wipe off my screen. To delete an entry, slide your finger sideways across the entry you wish to delete. A delete button will appear. I think being able to delete things changes my review from three stars to four. I like this app but it could use a few improvements. The biggest problem with this app seems to be that you can't delete teas and brews. You can't remove the pre-loaded sample listing from your teas. You can edit the sample listing to be one of your own teas, but the sample brew and rating can't be removed. If you add a tea and then toss it out or give it away or something, you can only reduce the amount in the app, you can't remove it. Other reviewers have complained that there aren't enough tea categories, but that's not a big deal to me. Most teas will fit under black, green, white, red, etc...having separate categories for flavored or powdered isn't that critical. You can just put matcha under Japanese green and then adjust the time, temperature and amount however you want. Another minor complaint is that the screen will not rotate to landscape view. The keyboard is a bit larger in landscape than in portrait so it would be easier to type in tea info.

Could be better. I like being able to catalog all of my teas, but the last updates seem to have broken the search feature. It also doesn't seem to have a settings menu any more.

Lacks "archive". I have one significant gripe with this app: It lacks the ability to "archive" a tea from your collection when you run out of it. That is, if you're using the inventory tracking feature, the tea stays in your list even when you've used all of it up (and, in fact, the quantity will keep going negative if you keep brewing it!). You can delete the tea from your collection, but this also deletes all your history of brewing with that tea. I purchased this app because I wanted it to help me track my tea collection, but without an archive feature it's pretty close to useless for that.

Great!. Keep on the great job

Great. I can tell a lot of work went into the design of this app. The encyclopedia is a great way to discover new teas to try. That alone would be worth the price.

Good concept but flawed. while it would be a good app to keep track of tea, it crashes regularly

Suggestions. I would add lots more teas to the encyclopedia. I wished to see jasmine and Da Hong Pao and didn't see either. :( Maybe a filter for the encyclopedia if you add more teas. Something that will sort them by category (white...puerh...green...etc). But definitely keep updating this app. I did not use it until 2.0. Thank you for a wonderful app!

By far the best Tea app. The tone of this review may seem largely negative, but I just wanted to point out some things that could be improved in the new version. Honestly, this is THE BEST TEA RELATED APP YOU CAN GET. Full featured, affordable, easy to navigate user interface- it does everything you need. Almost. So, here come the things I'd like to see improved in the next version. - I'd like to be able to sort the main list of added teas by categories besides the date I added them. Like Most brewed, highest rated, Color (White -> Black) - If I get longwinded with my tasting notes, the keyboard covers what I'm typing and I haven't found a way to scroll the text while typing. - I'd like to see categories for flavored teas (Flavored Black, Flavored Green), specialized teas (Matcha) and non-herbal Tisanes (Barley Tea) With these things added/fixed, it will really be perfect.

Crashing on iOS 8. Program worked well until I upgraded to iOS 8. Hopefully, a fix is on the way!

Crashes. I just purchased. When I tried to enter in my notes the app crashed. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I quit the app then reopened. Well, several times this happened. Asking for a refund. Wish it worked. I really enjoyed the rest of the app.

Great app for tea lovers. This is a great app for people who drink tea daily, or even weekly to check their stock, brew their tea, and record their brewing history. The only thing I would add to it is push support for when you're out of the app and your tea is done, it could just pop up and say "[type of tea] is ready!" This would be amazing if it's added in a future update, and also if you could add a sugar/honey (or other sweetener) option? This would be awesome too because a lot of people drink their tea sweetened and they could record their best recipe in the app and even share it with friends via Facebook or Twitter. I still highly recommend this app if you like drinking tea and want to keep track of things, and if you wish to time your tea brewing with an iPhone.

Hmmmmm. For some reason, this app doesn't recognize any of my teas. Right now, Taylor's of harr. Scottish breakfast tea is not recognized. I would like to see what teas ARE in the database!

Crashes every time I add notes. I purchased this as a tea journal. The interface is decent, but it crashes immediately after I type any character. I've reproduced this behavior many times without exception.

Very disappointed. No Encyclopedia included which is the reason I paid for it. Just a glorified tea timer. Don't waste your money.

So close to being finished…but not quite yet. I am new to tea and purchased this app to help me track preferences as I learn my way around tea. The app is nice but lacks two very basic features. The categories are limited. One may choose “Black” tea. But there are no categories such as Assam, Darjeeling, etc. Also there is no category or search feature. That will not be an issue for me but a true tea lover would find the app fill with a random list of teas. Defeats the purpose doesn’t it? Lots of potential. I hope this is not an orphan app. Just a few more features would rejuvenate it and make it a perennial favorite.

Update broke the app. I've used this app for several years and would have rated it 5 stars, but the newest update broke it. Now the only quantity is "bag" rather than grams. Any true tea snob would only use loose-leaf tea. I also can't go back and change the rating in the history tab any more. I usually don't have the app open when I'm drinking my tea. I want to be able to come back later and input my ratings. PLEASE fix these things!

Potential for greatness. Great start, Sam. I really dig the UI and design elements. As an avid tea drinker, I appreciate all of the attention to detail and choices. However, I feel like I'm forcing myself to use this app. It's main function is a timer, which can vary depending on the type of tea. To get to the timer though, you have to first pass through several inputs and the entire process can be a hassle, especially when in a hurry. The inventory tracking is a nice addition, but again, can be a hassle considering you can just look into your bag/tin to see how much is left. I was hoping the app would include some sort of tea community which featured user opinions and reviews of different blends (something like Steepster for iOS) that also let you attach pictures of the leaves. With something like that, I would definitely make continued use of the app. It's clear that Sam is very passionate about this app and I'd like to see it incorporate these features to truly unlock its potential.

Please fix!. Where did my encyclopedia go?!? Put it back.

I lovED This app .. But now.... WAS An excellent app before they decided to remove the tea encyclopedia. Worked for me great in a trip to Japan , but now without the feature its kind of useless

Where did the add a tea + sign go?. I added one tea and then the plus sign was gone???? How do I add more teas??

QUESTION. Hi there! I like this app but I just bought it really for the encyclopedia as well but the button is not appearing at the bottom of my screen?? Just wondering if anyone else had this issue??

Pretty terrific little app with lots of possibilities ahead. I've been through more tea apps than one can shake a stick (or tea pick) at. This one's the best of the lot...which is why so many users expect even more from it. Mine has 20+ teas entered, with fairly detailed notes. The ability to add my specific teapots is a big bonus--no need to memorize how many cc's each holds. A tip I missed: After selecting one of you user-entered pots, adjust the dry tea amount accordingly in the Brew screen, then tap the lock icon in the middle of the needle graphic. Doing so allows the app to adjust the amount of tea up/down according to which teapot you select for each session. Genius idea (that was so subtle I completely missed it). Wish list: A way to sync the app with other devices -and- online. Would be soooo much easier to add a list of new teas if we could do so using a full sized keyboard via a browser-based site. To then sync that info to other devices would be even better...no need to henpeck through teeny tiny "keys" on the phone then repeat the process on the iPad. To Sam and company--thank you, thank you, thank you for all the blood, sweat, tears, and tea that went into this. Definitely the best of what's out there.

Keeps Crashing. I liked this on my old iPod but got it on my new one and it crashes when I try to type info.

Basically useless. This app is basically useless. It doesn't contain the tea encyclopedia that it says it does. I haven't been one that his drank a lot of exotic teas in the past and thought that this app would help me by giving me a background on the tea, the amount of tea I needed to use, the temperature that I needed to hear the water to, how long I needed to steep it, and how many times I could reuse the tea leaves, but it does none of that. You basically have to look it all up and enter all of the information in there. Like I said, it's basically useless!!

Only needs a better looking timer. Timer doesn't match the theme of the app or the experience of brewing tea. Maybe change it to an analog or antique clock.

Wonderful Tea App!!!. This is a wonderful Tea App! I used to keep my notes in a book before and this is way easier now! I can't believe how easy this is now. I suggest this to any Tea aficionado. I have two suggestions for this app. 1. Create a calculator to convert units of measures. This is really helpful when I brew tea for a large group. 2. Add a feature to let us tag/add a photo to the tea so I can add a photo of the brew or the tea leaves.

Perfect companion for the novice to tea guru alike. Current Version: Nice update bringing a couple bug fixes and introducing Quick Mode and Vibrate when on silent. Only downside to Quick Mode is that if you increase your brew time with each infusion the Quick Mode will use the last set time. Would be nice to set a default value for each tea but using the new Skip Timer feature after the needed time has elapsed works just fine for now. ------- Version 1.02: Very easy to use and a beautiful design/ interface; worth every penny. Great app overall for version 1, only a few minor things to update/ add. Things I would like to see in future versions (in order of importance): - Vibrate/ sound when on silent when timer ends - Add a Year/ Season so it don't have to be added it to the name - Add a Favorite section so you can easily make that perfect cup again instead of having to search or scroll through your history - Make the Tea Scratchpad less prominent - Make a threaded view (allow for turning on and off in the settings) for the multiple infusions

Requires iOS 6. I really like the app (1.23 version), and mainly use it for tracking inventory. Sadly, the new version won't install on my old iPod Touch because it requires iOS 6. Thought it might be worth mentioning, because I didn't see this requirement noted in any of the obvious places.

Absolutely Invaluable. If your as much of a tea snob as I am, you're going to love this app. Well thought our design coupled with a smart aesthetic make it a joy to use and something I'd wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who takes their tea seriously.

Disappointed. Definitely not 500 types 30 at most and I have to type all the info for the teas that I drink. Either update to include all major brands and types or refund my money !

Cool but needs more. I would like to see this as an iPad native app. I think the infusion time should be able to be longer (at least 30 mins). Also would be nice to have 'teaspoons' and 'tablespoons' as measurement options. But all in all its a nice app!

Where's the information for each tea?. Lovely idea. Nice graphics and user interface. But where is the information about tea?! When added a new tea I don't see what expertise the app provides? It seems to be a gorgeous library for tea ( as long as you have time to manually enter them all). Am I missing the point? An other cup may help :)

The App is NOT What You Think!. The description is misleading. The 'Encyclopedia' does NOT contain Earl Grey or English Breakfast; you have to add them yourself manually :) what is inside the delivered reference is minimal; there is more info if you just Google it. As for brewing, there are no instructions at all (as in best time for each type of tea). Again, you enter the brewing time, and the app starts a simple timer (you can use Apple Clock much easier). Basically, an App that pretends what it is not. Save the $2 for a decent cup of yea elsewhere :)

App is awful. Very bad app, don't know why people have talked it up you have to type in every tea yourself. There are maybe 20 types of tea in it, not 500. I would like a refund!

Very Useful App. Great for a tea lover to get organised and store the results of your brewing experiments in search of the perfect cup. Responsive developers too

Inventory AND History!. I was looking for a tea app that could keep track of all my looseleaf teas and the amounts I have of them. This app tracks how much I have, changes my inventory with each brew and allows me to keep notes and photos, too! I love it!

For the tea newbie to professional. Downloaded the app and used it to brew my first cup of tea this morning. The app is very easy and straightforward to use. I love that it keeps track of my inventory of tea as well as all of my tasting notes. For those who might balk at the $4.99 price tag: Don't! This app is easily worth $9.99 once you look at all the features and what it has to offer.

Needs More Development. I added some teas on my IPad as it's easier to type on than the iPhone, expecting that these Teas would show up on the iPhone as well. They did not. I've tried every way I can think of to sync them but it simply won't work. Very frustrating.

Wonderful :). Wonderful app. I suggest a custom tea type option. Otherwise, I love the simple design and lovely extra features for getting the perfect brew.

Great update!. I liked this app before, very easy to use with a clean layout, the 2.0 update just made this hands down the best tea app you can get. Great job!

almost there.... if the individual tea notes were searchable from the main page (instead of JUST the tea names), this app would be near perfect! then one could search for key words when in the mood for a 'spicy' or 'fruity' tea!

Great App. It's a very well made app but still requires more work. Would be a very good idea to sort teas by type such as Wulong, Green Chinese, etc.. instead of going into more info to find out. Settings button when selected takes a few seconds to long to access and sometimes it seems that Tea app is frozen. Also would be great is to delete unwanted history list which my current version doesn't support. I selected brew by mistake and know I can remove from history list. There should also have a remove button for removing old teas that you may want to remove. Can't delete "Example Tea" from list. All said it's a great investment for any tea drinker either beginner or expert.

Amazing!. It's like having an amazing bank of all the tea you tasted. Everything is really clear and easily understandable. You also have a lot of possibility to try other measurement/ infusion time, etc. A must have if you love tea!

Looks nice, but shaky behind its nice presentation. Nice interface, but unstable: it'll crash when starting a new brew, and if it doesn't, settings will likely be reset. Timer implementation isn't all that great either: it'll work if you're looking at your phone or if your sound is on, but beyond that, chances are that you'll miss the timer. Tried my best to like it, but nope.

Still A Work In Progress. Super sleek and amazing - but like all new things there's a few bugs that need fixing.

Great app!. Since becoming a tea lover I have accumulated quite the tea collection. This helps me keep everything organized.

Tea. It was a good app but now there is no Encyclopedia shown on iphone 5s

Good app. I'm enjoying this ap. A few things would make it even better. I'd love to be able to sort by type if tea (ie oolong) or organize them by rating. Other than that, it's a pretty solid ap.

The Perfect App. As someone who was just starting to get into loose-leaf teas I was in the market for a good app to help me keep track of my steep times. I had tried a few other apps similar to this one (most of them free) and had yet to find one that was the perfect balance of function and design. I was immediately struck by how beautiful this app was and while at first I thought the asking price might have been a little steep (pun intended) I decided to give it a shot anyways. At the very least it'd look pretty. I was not disappointed. The timer feature works just fine. But its all the other features of the app that really make it stand out. The inventory feature alone is reason to buy the app, this combined with the history, recommended steep times, and the elegant and simple timer this is the perfect example of a beautiful app that's functionality is just as good as its looks. It'd be great to see the developers put out similar apps for things like Coffee, Wine, Beer, etc. Seriously, love it. One minor qualm: the icon is kind of ugly compared to the rest of the application.

Crashes. Crashes whenever I try to edit the number of bags I have.

Best to tea app available!. I've tried a few other tea timer apps out there and they don't even compare to this. The only faults that I have found are: -when sound is off the timer doesn't vibrate when finished - there is no way to skip the timer when backlogging tea All the positives out way those negatives by far. Still deserves 5 stars. I am so happy that I found this app to help me make the perfect cup of tea.

Could Be Better!. I would come back and give this app five stars, if only it had an edit button. If you are finished with a tea there is no way to get it out of your inventory!! Also if you make a typo in your tea inventory, there is no way to correct it!!! This would be the PERFECT tea app, if these small issues could be fixed.

Coming from a tea lover..... This a really isn't well designed at all. Maybe it's because I use bagged tea mostly, but I found in incredibly frustrating to navigate and to actually save settings. From the description I thought that it would come pre-loaded with the information that you needed for the aforementioned 200 teas. Overall it isn't a good buy; glad I got it on sale.

Be able to combine teas. I have a collection of loose tea that I blend before brewing. I'd love to be able to combined teas so that I can determine which blend is best. Also the app does a poor job inputting how much tea I am using. When I add a tea I can use bags but when I try an brew I do not have that option. Needs updates. Right now it is just a timer with a notepad.

tea newby. I like it a lot. I'm a converted. Never drank tea before last week. Searched for an app to help me tracking my tea making process and here we are. I can tweak time, water temp, amount of tea and rate the result, simply awesome. UI is easy to understand. Well done y'all.

Elegant and Beautiful. This app's interface shows meticulous attention to detail and the feature set is also very carefully thought out. Great app!

Things that must be fixed.. Yes the app is beautiful, but... Let me edit the tea to keep the same temp and brewing amount default. The cups of tea available are completely wrong by a lot of the time. There needs to be a database of tea by brand to automatically pull the default brewing instructions. When I "skip" the brewing do not let it chime like it would if I finished brewing. It's very loud and not useful if I'm logging a cup of tea from earlier.

2.0 is awesome!. Buy this app just for the new encyclopedia, admire the other features while you're at it. If you like tea a lot, you will like this app a lot too.

Not quite there. While it is nice to track how much tea I have and the steeping timer works nicely, I would really like to be able to track my teas better. I want to be able to say what I thought of each tea and if I would buy again. This gives you a note area but it appears steep by steep, not by tea and you can't get to it easily.

Great app!. I've been waiting for an app like this. There are a couple things I would like to see in the next version... I would like the option to add tea brew notes without having to run the tea timer, as I don't always have my phone with me when brewing. I would also like to be able to edit the tea types. There are some types that I drink that are not on the list.

Very Nice. I'm new to the Tea brewing arena and this app is helping me understand how differences in Tea types change the outcome. Great UI start. Ready for future updates

The Total Package. Current version: They listened and went above and beyond my expectactions to create the ideal tea-based app. Definitely has a permanent spot on the bottom bar of my iPhone. Earlier review: Many useful features, with a little room to grow. Wishlist: Custom alarm tones, easier config for brewing large amounts of tea at once.

So epic. Love this app, so many great options and perfect for large collections! Can you make one for coffee, too?

Awesome!. I love this little app. The interface is simple, classic and easy to use. There are so many useful categories (name, type, inventory, times brewed, rating [best and average], description, tasting, brewing specificities, etc) for cataloging your tea explorations. Super wonderful! My only suggestion would be to have an option to list ingredients (more for herbal blends rather than real tea). Thank you for your attention to detail, it's greatly appreciated.

Decent, but could use improvement. There needs to be a way to delete teas or tasting notes, and possibly add a tea origin field so we can add Korean, Vietnamese, Indian or teas from other countries not listed. I'd also like to see powdered green tea (matcha or malcha) added to the tea types. Great idea behind this but some kinks to work out.

Good. Good for keeping track of your tea drinking and what you like and don't like. The biggest issue is the brewing timer is set up only for Western brewing styles. I only use Asian styles, which means that it'a difficult to use this app to it's fullest.

Almost there. I love this app. However, I want to be able to record multiple infusions farther apart and I notice that the amount left is not always accurate. A few fixes and its there.

Uh, Awesomeness.... Great looking as well as functioning Tea App. User friendly app, with user based teas. Excellent timer as well as decreasing stock of teas. Suggestions: Could use UI feature of steeps, some teas especially loose leaf have multiple steeps…do I smell V1.3 or more?

I use it every day.. I hoped this would become one of my new favorite apps and it hasn't disappointed. It does what it advertises. I hope new features will be added, such as 'Picking saved list of brands from dropdown' or 'ability to save photos of tea'

Upgraded to Fair. A personal email from Sam resolved my biggest irritant, having to set brew settings each time - just save after the timer expires. Still limited in other ways but this gives hope that perhaps the app will improve over time. Everybody who wants this to be all it should be should communicate your desires - somebody is actually listening.

The App for Tea Drinkers!. Tea for iPhone is a great App! With it's timer, Measurements that have Tea Leaves and Tea Bags (just divide the weight on the box by the number of Tea Bags) covered and you are ready to Rock your Tea!

Almost perfect.. I'd love to see some of the small suggestions others have recommended. That said, the biggest thing for me is that it still doesn't have iPhone 5 support. Pie in the sky request? Make this universal (for iPad) with iCloud support. That would be awesome! All that said, given the lack of updates, I have a feeling this app is abandoned. Shame.

Nice, but hard to edit entries. I like this app but it needs a way to add teas that you taste in a tea shop ( do not keep in stock). Also you can not delete entries or change specific tea settings without "brewing" a cup. I'd just prefer an easier way to edit or delete entries.

Good, but needs serious work.. As a tea-connoisseur, I have to say some of these pre-loaded brewing instructions are way off, especially on how much tea to add to a brew. I would like to be able to set my own default settings. And the tea list needs a better way of organizing it. (I own over 47 teas, and a single list organized by title or vendor doesn't cut it.) Maybe add folders by tea type. Asides from that, integration with websites such as steepster and tumblr would be a plus, though not top of the list. All-in-all, BEAUTIFUL app, but needs to pay more attention to what's important: tea, and the processes used to brew that perfect cup.

Misleading.... Rather than have a database of teas to refer to, it requires manual input of information. “Intelligent” analysis of brewing time is debatable since most of that info is available with the tea as well as the quantities required for brewing. My expectations of this app were expert-approved brewing methods, etc for various teas. In reality, it's just a glorified timer...

Doesn't calc weights correctly & won't combo teas. Every time I tried to pick either pounds our ounces this app kept defaulting to some random grams number. For example I bought 12 ounces of tea which would be 342g but the app would pick some random number between 20-30 grams. This made my inventory counts wrong. This app will not let you combo teas either. I like to brew my youth berry with my orange blossom and this app won't let you create that recipe. This would be a fun app to have if it actually worked and gave you better data entry freedom. Oh well.

Love tea? This is your app.. Has all the features you'll ever need for tea brewing. All on top of a beautiful interface. Hard to beat this.

Nice - more stars if update for blends.. I like being able to track my teas. I'm new to tea. I like that I can keep notes on my brews in order to figure out what I like. I'm not sure how accurate the tracker of my inventory is yet as I've only had the app for a week. I would give 5 stars if it allowed me to brew a blend. I like combing teas.

Great!. I'm new to loose leaf tea and this app is great for documenting my new collection and experiences! Two feature requests to make it even awesomer: a tagging system, so I can collate my own subcategories, aside from type and brand (searching notes will work but something more systematic would be great!) Also Dropbox or Notebooks sync/export. Thanks for a lovely abd useful app!

This app is great!. I don't understand why people are complaining about how this app can't do coffee. This is a tea app. It's for tea, not coffee. If you want a coffee app, find a coffee app. As far as tea goes, it's pretty great. I love how you can set everything like steep time and temperature for the tea.

Good but could be better. This is a great app if you just want to jot personal notes about tea and have a timer, but I think it should also have some sort of database for different tea types with reasonable defaults loaded for each. A community feature or wiki in which users could share their experiences with specific tea types would also be great.

It really needs this... Great App the one thing that it is missing is a a buy list. A link to Samovar, Adagio, American tea Room, Red Blossom...etc I know the Teavana app is free and has this feature of course it is only for their teas. Since this app cost it would be great to have this. Other then that it is a good app.....but not great yet. :)

Love this App!!!!!!. Love this App!!!!!! This is such a great thing. I agree that their needs to be a green matcha option but also others like flavored black. It would be nice if you could delete teas that you add. Other than that nothing wrong with the app.

Excellent. Fast, clean, and beautiful UI compliments the robust feature set very well. It's going to be great knowing how much tea I have left, where it all went, and a quick way to take notes. Great work!

The definitive iOS app for Tea!!!. Current version: What a great update! New features like quick brew, timer skip, and teabag support makes an already great app better! --- Version 1.02 With it's clean, beautiful and intuitive UI, Tea for iOS is a must for anyone who brews tea. This app is feature rich and not another timer app, it's a resource for tea lovers.

Great for coffee, too. Instead of tracking teas, I've been using this app almost exclusively to track coffees. It would be great if it offered options for selecting the roast darkness (city to full city plus) and brew method (press, pour over, etc), but even without these options it's pretty great as a coffee app. Oh, and it's perfect for teas as well.

Finally. Finally a tea app!! I love this app and I'm sure it will get better with new updates. I think tea history and basic terms would be nice. Also, where some of these great teas can be found would be nice. I can see this being a 5 stars app with just a few modifications.

Timer issues. The app design is fine (sparse and functional), but I bought this primarily as a timer. The timer works as advertised if you leave the app open and in the foreground. Unfortunately, the timer cancels and no bell will sound if you get a phone call, check your email, or use another app. Also, when the timer works, the bell is very loud/piercing and there is no in-app volume setting (you must adjust the ringer volume). The developers are aware of these problems and, to their credit, indicate they are working on them, but updates are infrequent.

Hands down the best Tea app. Straightforward and beautiful, you won't find a better tool to have alongside you while brewing tea. Great work!

Great App. The UI is flawless and with every update cool features keep getting added. This app is so much more than a timer, which most of the other tea apps are. Keeps track of inventory, the interface for logging each brew is great and the overall look and feel of this app is fabulous. Also, really easy to share your tea drinking on facebook and twitter.

Great App!. Would like to see a brief history of each general type of tea and generalized characteristics (with usual caffeine level) of each one added as a quick reference. Otherwise a great app!!!!! Well worth the money and then some:)

Love Tea!. Now it looks great on the iPhone 5! The encyclopedia is loaded with facts and tasting notes about your favorite teas, and the included pictures are stunning. I use this app daily. Couldn't live without it. Fantastic job!

Fantastic app. This is a beautiful example of what a great iPhone app should do--it enhances your tea making/drinking experience, without bogging it down with too many options and superfluous features. Definitely worth the price.

Love the app. Very well designed. Minimalist approach is very much appreciated. One feature that would be really neat is to vibrate a few times when done. I like to keep my phone in my pocket, but I can't have the bell sound off (at work). A tiny little buzz won't cut it.

Brilliant app. The first update added in everything I didn't find user-friendly. Tea bag support, saving my scale preferences, quick timer, etc. Love this app now!

Great update to a great app. I've been waiting patiently for this update for awhile now, but it was 100% worth the wait! Beautiful redesign, great new features, and the continued simplicity that I've come to expect from Tea and the team that has been diligent in keeping it awesome. Download this app now if you value tea at all!

I couldn't live without this app!!!. If you love tea this is your app. It's insane. It times tea, keeps track of everything: tea times, temperatures, amounts, notes, ratings and creates a history of your tea drinking.

great for saving your History. I love tea! If you experiment with making the best teas ever with measurements and time you will love this. It would be nice if you made an update so the timer could go up to an hour or more. The history and notes section is great. What would make this app better "the ability to add photos for every tea you make!"

Perfect. This is what iOS Apps are meant to be. It performs a simple task, but does so with style and beauty. If you are at all interested in brewing your own tea this App is a must have.

Average.... Oh well, it tracks your tea, and only your tea, no coffee. Also, after I made a tea, all my tea gained 1 extra bag... How could this happen??? Glitches, you can imagine, is that it forgets your customs to make each kind of tea, and keeps popping up random parameters...

Great. I love the catalog, searchable, the different brewing parameters. Super easy, nice to look at, very useful. Would love if it were iPad universal with iCloud, but other than that, it's really excellent.

Nice concept. A great app for tea lovers. Hope it can combine tea, coffee, cocoa, and etc. in the future, for they use mostly the same idea to brew. If so, there should be more space for users to customize.

Fantastic & easy!. Love, love, love this app...especially since the new update to include tea bags! It's also great for shopping since it keeps track of how much tea inventory you have left. If you drink tea, you definitely need Tea!
