A toastmaster. I’ve been in toastmasters for about 2 years now and I can’t express enough how this app helps me organize my thoughts. I’ve been through many prompter apps and finally there is one who honors the grammar portion of it . Love the color code grammar feature that helps you really get to the meat of what you want to say. Great app!!! . I did have trouble using the video recording LOW SOUND!! Could use some updates there....but over all great app👍🏾

useful. I found this app to be useful for presentations. It's definitely a great idea for use of the ipad.

Great app but crashes. Love the app, but would like to have faster setting for autoscroll. Also, app crashes when importing from Dropbox.

Access of PDF’s. Concept of the app is good. File import needs a lot of work. Dropbox .....don’t use ......it’s full and Google docs which does not work for some reason. Needs to work with files on iOS. Tutorial to import via iTunes is out of date. Would of got a better rating if I’d managed to import a file.

Bad UI, not intuitive. Can't figure out how to play back what I recorded. The UI is not intuitive and easy to navigate.

UNRELIABLE. CRASHED AND LOST A DOZEN SPEECHES. Poor execution of the right idea. When it works it has the potential to be awesome. However, it crashed at last upgrade and I lost all my speeches probably 100 hours of work! Technical assistance non-existent. Not sure if they're even still around to support this app. Stay away until they fix the app!!

Crashes when importing from Dropbox. Looks good, but it consistently crashes when I try to import from Dropbox. I'm using an iPhone 5s,

Does not work!. SpeechMaker will not load .txt nor .HTML files thru iTunes! Seems there is no way to get help from developer -- his tech support section does not even list SpeechMaker!! Cheap, but not even worth the two bucks!!

Great for music!. It may be an "off label" use, but I use this app for my lyrics when I write a song, and it makes the learning process so much better. You can adjust the speed it scrolls, and the size of the words. I would be lost without this app!

Crashes when playing back. The program has crashed every time after about eight minutes of playing back a recorded 15 minute speech. I have always been able to resume. It's great to speed up the scrolling and adjust the timing of the speeches. I love the program and would like to see this issue resolved. The scrolling works great. But I am worried that it might crash during a live presentation. I have been able to seamlessly upload and download to GoogleDocs - a great boon. Would give it a five except for the playback.

Great App. This app is easy to use, easy to change text, very convenient. I love it!

Beware - Dropbox doesn’t work. I bought this app because it claims to be Dropbox compatible. BUT...When trying to import a speech from Dropbox you’ll receive the error “This app is in development mode and can’t accept more users. Contact the app developer and ask them to use the Dropbox API App Console to apply for production status.”

Love this Speech App. Frequently I'm asked to speak at events and am always ready to improve my ability. This app has great speeches and allows me to search through speeches by The Greats. Thank you!

Left Behind. Used to be an innovative app. Hasn't been updated since 2010. The whole point is to be able to track time as you speak. But that feature doesn't work because you can't adjust the time that you want to speech to take. Therefore time passed and time remaining are irrelevant. The app crashes anytime you try to change the default time, which is always 240. If they would fix this would still be a good app. Get Teleprompt+ instead

Autoscroll is not working. I just bought this and it's unusable for autoscroll. It this a 4.2.1 issue..? I cannot believe it's alway been broken and no one has left as feedback regarding it.

Beware. Loading document is terrible. Dropbox does not and Google docs is also down. Side loading is a mess, and loading PDF destroys the formatting.

No value. Playback of recorded audio doesn't work. That had value. Tts has no value, as the voice is robotic sounding. Speech to text would be more helpful to prepare for presentations.

Great app!. A well thought out teleprompter app, easy to use with seamless word processing for composing and timing speeches, the many features of the teleprompter mode adjust quickly for live presentation.

CRASHES BAD LOST ALL CONTENT. This app has AMAZING potential. The update crashed every time I opened it, I had to delete and re download the app so it could at least open. And the drop box link didn't work on the last version and crashes on this one to..... Please fix it ASAP. There is not to many apps like this and I have tried the great majority of them and this is the closest of what I need..... I just can't have it crash when I'm trying to give a speech.

Horrible app. Just bought it. I want my money back! All I wanted to do was upload my speech and read it on the teleprompter. I could not upload my pdf from Dropbox or google doc.

Never got to the point where I could actually use this app. First problem, it comes pre-loaded with what looks like at least 100 speeches from famous people that can only be deleted one at a time. I supposed if your goal is to just give other people’s speeches that might be fine, but doesn’t really seem practical. It would take forever to get these deleted and there’s really no point for someone who’s delivering their own speech to have all this cluttering up the app. Second there are only 3 ways I could find to get your own content into the app. Write it directly in the app, or import it from Dropbox or google docs. When I tried to import from google docs, it just plain threw and error and failed. When I tried to import from Dropbox, it gave an unsorted list of every possible file that could be imported from everything in my Dropbox (which is large) so I had to scroll through hundred of docs to try and find the pdf file I wanted. There was no directory structure imported nor a search feature to use to locate the file you want, just an unsorted list and after scrolling through the entire list, I’m pretty sure the one file I needed wasn’t there. Summary, with lots of useless data cluttering up the app and no good way to get your own stuff in it, major fail.

Super App!. I was never a very confident public speaker, but Speech Maker has helped me improve my game! It also gives access to other speeches, so I can observe how others present themselves and the topics. I recommend trying it out. It doesn’t cost much and has been worth every penny to me!

Simply doesn’t work and tech support not answering. I love supporting app developers in the app store, but I expect to get what you say I am getting. And if I screw up, then tell me so, but that would mean you have to answer the tech/support email that I wrote. But wait, was going to ask you yet one more time before leaving this review, but your webpage says not to leave more than one email about a problem. Its doesn’t work as advertised, period. Can’t import from Dropbox because “error authorizing app: Only a limited set of users can receive access tokens while this app is in development mode.” and pdf imports from google just simply fail to render on the screen properly if at all. Fail. Sorry guys, but the only thing plumamazing about this app is that you got it reviewed in blogs that I regularly read, and NOW those bloggers are ALSO on notice. Thank God I only lost three bucks . . . and 15 hours of time.

Unique app great for education. The grammar tool is very useful I've never seen anything like it. Gives a great overview immediately of any content showing all types of grammar. Keeping all the speeches in one database is also very cool. Nice app.

What a joy!. Check out my 2010 review — in short I loved it. Speechmaker has had maybe three updates since then but has worked with every iPad and iOS since then. I have read short essays and poetry etc. to a live audience 4 or more times without a hitch. I was devastated to find my glee for a new update turning to horror as it now would not even load. I have an iPad Air. It will load onto my iPhone 5S but that is not something I would want to use. I rebooted my iPad (no success) and will try deleting and reload. I will amend my review if I have any success. Success! I deleted the app directly from my iPad and wondered at the cloud icon that remained. Nevertheless, I reloaded it from the cloud and it opens without hesitation. This is the biggest update I’ve seen adding support for more file types and control gestures for font size. I always keep my content in duplicate in a folder on my iMac and would advise the precaution for all apps. Perhaps Dewey7777 can restore his device from his last sync and save the content before re-installing. Good luck! 2020 I can’t recall my amended review was written but I have given more than ten readings since the four mentioned. Does not work correctly. It is virtually impossible to import documents from google doc's or drop box. The issue needs to be resolved or the app is worthless.

Awesome!. Such a powerful tool! This improves everybody's speeches, people who rarely speak in public can greatly benefit, rehearse, check and improve their speech. I think even the most advanced speakers will find it super useful.

Promising, but needs work. The menu interface is weak. The app is stuffed full of demo speeches which I find useless, but there seems to be no way to delete them except one by one, which would take hours! Please provide a way to delete the sample speeches, so I can conveniently find my own files. The timer functions in LIVE mode would be useful during a speech to stay on schedule. Unfortunately, they only seem to work with Siri. More troubling, I tried using Siri as a speech aid. I had used the highlight function to highlight verbs. As Siri read the speech, most highlighted verbs were deleted! I had to edit the document to replace the deleted verbs. How about some Customer Support, or at least a User Forum? Perhaps someone should test the software before offering it for sale! In the meantime, I will be eagerly awaiting fixes and improvements.

Import does not work at all. If you will write the speech in the apps interface, that is fine. However if you try to import a word document that does not work as it promises. No google drive connection too. It does not work. Total failure. Can not use it at all.

Love this app. I love this app. The different colors you have are great and I guess I can put up with what is their and that may be great for some. That is having subjects and adverbs etc in different colors. What I was talking about is being able to color in a entire sentence or a part of a sentence with the many different colors you have. That would allow the ones that what the action words or the would have the opportunity to do as I mention above, a sentence or part of a sentence with the many colors that you have for the action words. You notice I recommend this app highly and will continue to do so.

Very very basic. No spell checker. No IOS auto correct - yes you have to remember to capitalize your "i's". Old school! It has such potential, but needs a lot more development time spent on it. It isn't worth the 99cents.

Average at best. This app is woefully out of date and shouldn’t be on sale. The interface is slow and buggy on an iPad Pro and the import feature introduces several incorrect characters when importing from an rtf file. This is a waste of money until it’s updated.

Crashes. Crashes regularly ! Not great when making speeches! Unless the rtf file and PDF file are in the apps native font the files will display as gibberish when downloaded from Dropbox. When I eventually managed to download the PDF I created it was completely unformatted making it useless! Dev - please test properly before submission! This app is not cheap and in my point of view a complete waste of money!

Great App but Please Update. Note to developers: even though you have added the feature to edit the speech - it still won't save the speech. This is a great App so please update and fix the bug.

Off to a disappointing start. Was really excited about using this app. However, my first task was to import my speech through Dropbox and the app is consistently freezing on me and not allow me to import anything. It gave me the error "failed user name and password", which is fine, perhaps I mistyped it, but at this point the app is frozen and will no longer function. So I force quit the app and started it up again. When I go to import from Dropbox, it won't even allow me to re-enter my info because it's saved it in the system, so immediately that app says "failed user name and password" and is frozen again. Very disappointing. Would love to use the app if it actually worked.
