Not downloading. I've tried to download this app for the past hour, and I wasn't able to. I would like to know if it's because I am located in the United States. It's tells me "unable to download"

French Words. Wonderful app. Can hear the word and hear and SEE the individual sounds. Perfect for visual learners. Nicely interactive. Wish the French pronunciation was louder.

My líes love these!. My nine-year old doesn't want to stop playing this game; he chooses it over "Crystal Portal" and his other chosen games now. This one is really designed for iPad, and the reward graphics really are cool--when I first saw them I couldn't keep my hands off them myself. He hears the words and then has to spell them out. I doubt he's learning all the new words, as he's playing at the frenetic pace of a video game, but he's already way ahead on French spelling, which is no small thing. I can't recommend this enough, even as a fun little support for adults learning the language. I just hope L'Escapadou will bring out a German version.

Great app for English speaker to learn some French. I know zero French but this app removes all the intimidation of trying a new language, well, some new words from a new language at least. The graphics looks cute and is probably designed for kids. But the app is definitely appropriate for adults too. Great job.

Super!. I have used this app for over a year in my classes. It is a wonderful tool to help students pronounce the words Steph I step and to check your spelling as often as they need to! What a wonderful tool for any educator who wants to teach their child the phonetic system as well as pronunciation!

Helped me with the fundamentals. I went to Paris and learned my expanding French vocabulary was not much use for conversations, as my pronunciations were fundamentally flawed. This app has been great to help me learn the basics of French pronunciation, especially the vowels. Merci beaucoup !

Great, except…. Needs to include the functionality of ‘Writing Wizard’

Great learning app. This is a great app for children just learning to read and write in French. We especially appreciate the ability to change the letters from upper case to lower case and French script too - super! Remercie

No so great. Game lacks any form of progression, difficult for kids to figure out what they should be doing, or progressing skills once they've managed that much. Font face is terrible, it's nice that it is cursive, but some of the letters are too decorative and difficult for children to read and understand. While this game was made with children in mind, it clearly was not tested with children and greatly fails to achieve its goals.

Fantastic for kids and adults!. Learn to pronounce and write French words with an app called French Words. This fun little app will help your child to discover the French language and 240 combinations of word-picture-audio which will teach them to spell and pronounce the words. I’ll admit that I am French. And since we are homeschooling in both official languages, I am always on the lookout for apps that will strengthen the French language. This app is wonderful for kids who are learning from Kindergarten to about grade 2 or 3 depending of their ability of learning. You will find three levels of difficulty which is based on the phonetic difficulty of the words. Practicing the words often will improve the spelling ability of the kids. When you touch a specific letter, you will hear the sound associated with it. I find this to be a fun way to learn the French language. And if you are not fluent in French, you could learn the phonetic with your kids by using this cute little app! The letters and words in French are read by a native French speaker while the English of each words are spoken by an American speaker. I applause this decision to include a French native speaker because the kids will get the proper pronunciation and phonetic while listening to the audio. This app is based on a popular spelling activity from the Montessori method called Movable Alphabet. In a nutshell, it allows the child to spell words of increasing difficulty by associating the phonetic sounds of letters with their written symbol. I find this is a wonderful way to learn. Also, there are three types of lettering available on this app; cursive, lowercase and capital print. What a wonderful way to introduce cursive letters to a child. I would start with the lowercase lettering and slowly incorporate the capital print. When the child is comfortable with these two, I would introduce the cursive letters so that by grade 3, the child has assimilated the cursive writing and will have more facility to write it on his/her own. Even though it is a great learning tool for learners of French as a foreign language, I find it is also beneficial for French speaking kids who are learning to read and write in French.

French words for kids. This application is terrible. There's no practicing of words, or building up of a vocabulary. It's just spelling tests where the word is said so fast, I have trouble hearing it,let alone a child. Complete waste of money.

Good app. Good to learn word spellings.Only thing is it says learn French words and the things I spell are in English.
