Gyrosynth...5 stars not enough!. I give this product a 9 out of 5 stars ( I know that doesn't make sense but 5 just isn't enough!). It's fairly easy to learn and the sound and motion duo will make this a hit on stage. What a great app.!!

Audiophiles Hear This!!. For the value this it's rather good. Only reason it's not 5 stars is cause There isn't a manual switch/fader to control a manual pitch. Makes it difficult to repeat the bar you're working on. Buy fun to mess around with & record sound clips you can later move the lab.

Fantastic. This is the beginning of the age old question being answered; Is that guy dancing to the music or is the music that way because of the way he's moving? Anyone who's ever captured a groove to a good beat knows what I mean. I can only imagine where apps like this will go from here. 

Totally Awesome. I've downloaded over 200 apps and have never felt the desire to take the time to write a review. But this app is absolutely amazing! Greatest app ever, bar none! Is a steal at $2 I would have paid much more for it.

Awesome annoying fun!!!!. I think I annoyed my girlfriend out of the room in 20 seconds flat! (she came back when I lowered the pitch). TOTALLY fun to play with!! (the various scales didn't sound very different to me, but maybe I didn't know what to listen for.)

A serious musical instrument for 99 cents. Picked this up after seeing the demo videos on their website. I've seen plenty of demos of people making music with an app but I'm too musically un-inclined to do as well. What do you know, I can make some pretty good music with GyroSynth! Got dialed into it within 5 minutes and started wailing away on 'Baby, Please Don't Go' with nary a flub. GS produces some good sounding notes, unlike a lot of other synth app. Buy it and and have some fun. Be aware though that it only works with Apple's newest devices that have a gyroscope, like the iPhone 4, latest Touch, and iPad 2.

I feel like I'm in Pink Floyd!. This thing is a lot of fun! I remember Jimmy Page playing around with something like this in the movie "The Song Remains the Same." It's a blast creating little compositions. My face must have a serious look on it while I'm moving the iPhone around! One thing though - the wife hates it. Gives me the hairy eyeball everytime I fire it up!

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. Cannot wait to bring this app to our next jam. I agree that there should be a save and export feature. I have never seen anything like this, it turns your hand into an instrument!! Oh and I wanted to rate the app 5 stars but every time I tried this I would get this message, null_explanation. iTunes needs to fix this as you guys really deserve 5 stars.

truly amazing instrument!. I'm a guitarist and this is possibly the coolest iPhone app I've yet seen. you control pitch, volume and modulation via the phone's position in space. it's incredibly precise and with practice you can even play arpeggios and other non-adjacent pitches. you change choose a chromatic or major scale, but the pentatonics and other scales allow anyone to play surprisingly musical lines. the default oscillator setting of "vocal" yields a patch very reminiscent of Michael Brecker's EWI playing in the late 80s. Wonderful!!!

Great App, needs better icon. I love this app. Could you make an icon that's as eloquent as the app itself? This one looks cheap and doesn't do justice to the high quality app. Thanks.

SO COOL!!. This app really for my purposes has no use. But it is such a clever idea that I absolutely love it. Just to monkey around with. WORTH IT! (would be even better if the price was $.99 ;) )

Refined. I found most of the gyro apps very mediocre until checking out this one. This is no gimmick, an absolutely memorizing app for making effortless music simply by moving your phone, feels very polished. Play around with the settings, it isn't as complicated as it looks once you play for a few minutes.

Exactly as described. I think it's fun and if I was a musician or even a dj I bet it could be even better utilized. Keep adding different features and instruments and I'll really dig it

This is a super-fun and super-cool app!. Musicians and music-lovers will have loads of fun with this - very unique and interesting app, easy enough for anyone with ANY musical ability to play tunes, and fun for "non-musical" people as well - def. worth the $.99 price! :)

Innovative and fun. I've downloaded dozens of apps and never felt called to leave a review before now. I picked up this app last night and was so impressed. It is truly unique. It's a ton of fun to play around with and is quite easy to master. You can use it to produce haunting, melodic tunes or weird space-age sound effects. It's quite possibly my favorite thing I have on my iPod right now. Highly recommended, and 100% worth the price!

Needs An Update for iOS 9 and iPhone 6/plus. Please keep this app going as its a wonderful product. Updated AB sdk etc. keeps the professional musicians interested as well.

Great for iPhone 4. If you are intrigued by the music apps that are based on the iPhone's ability to sense changes in orientation, this app is a hoot. The ability to record is amusing and the app provides a fun way to make funny sounds and even potentially music (if you have crazy skills). Recommended for the wacky kid inside.

Absolute Fun For The Whole Family. I have always wanted to have my own theremin! So much fun! This is what having the gyro's in the iphone 4 is all about. A must have app. Great for Halloween! Woooeeeoooo! 6 Stars at least! 

Truly a great app. There really is nothing like this app. Taking advantage of the gyroscope in the iPhone is pure genius. With its abilities to work with Audiobus and Now MIDI, this little app opens up to some amazing possibilities. Good Show!

Love it!. Playing with this for hours from time to time. Would be pity if it couldn't run on iOS 11. Hope for updates.

Fun but only ok. If I could load my own samples and there were options for stutter edits and other effects, this would be an awesome app. It's neither as cool or as bad as anyone has rated so far. More or less does what it says but I'd probably not buy it if I had the choice to make again.

Wish it worked. BeepStreet makes my second favorite synth, Sunrizer, second only to Nord. I bought Gyrosynth on good faith and because the idea of it has a lot of potential. I can usually get it to work for a minute or so after starting then the controls stop responding, or become erratic.

Just one thing. Can we get labels for the notes....spell it out, please

Great fun with real possibilities. What a great app. It works perfectly and is bound to provide hours of entertainment. I'll need to practice in order to play a tune, but I think it's possible. Excellent job!

Great.. This is truly a fun instrument. I'm sure it will end up being used in some sort of creative way in the entertainment industry (if something like this hasn't already). I do wish there was a way to share your recordings with the public using this app though, kind of how that t-pain app does it.

Interesting . Definitely something to play with! Very nice overall. Kids like it a lot! I like it a lot.  Only 1 request; more OSC content please. 

A few things. This app could really use to be more than just an extremely fun toy: Custom scales that can be saved Wireless midi out (like the itm midi apps) Ability to play iPod tracks in background (check out how thumbjam implements this feature with a soundboost option, I don't need this, but you'll never stop hearing requests for this feature until you add it) I got my two bucks out of it in 20 min making cat, puppy, laughing, motorcycle, and misc words with it for the kids.. I've never been a fan of accelerometer based music apps.. But the gyro is so accurate it's really a totally different experience.. Very precise, repeatable gestures are possible. If your a music app fan, consider this an essential purchase. Surprised I put it off this long..

No sound. No sound no matter what I do. Does nothing.

Fantastic. As a musician, I play several instruments so I consider myself somewhat knowledgable. This app is a great value. It's extremely fun to play (and you don't need to be a musician to enjoy it), and sound quality of the four oscillator types and effects are great. I've already thought about the different possibilities of recording with it.

Wow! Impressive app!. As a musician, I am always looking for cool apps that allow me to make music on my iPod, whether it be to for work or pleasure. This app is really impressive in its sensitivity to the slightest movement, and allows for some really cool effects on the synth player. Great app! No Regrets here!

A must buy. This app is amazing. Straightforward usage, yet pretty robust! Now it supports custom scales and the saw waveform. I didn't know how to transfer files from iPhone -> Mac, so I did contact support. 3 min later my question was answered. In all aspects, either just for fun or with a more serious purpose, you should buy it. Worth the price.

Sampler doesn't work still!. What's the point of having a record button if it doesn't work? It's been like this at least since iOS 6 when I got my iPhone 5. Now that they released an update for iOS 8, I though it would've been addressed, but I was very wrong, what else can I say.

No longer works. Loved the app but it no longer makes any sound on ios16

Amusing. I find the concept quite interesting, I sort of wish I could use this to synth my own iPod music the app does what it says and if that's what you'd be interested in, then have fun with it, it is well made and quite responsive.

Amazing little program. For a program that is free, this little number is just wonderful. The interface is intuitive, and easy to understand. And graphically it has a good quality look to it (though this doesn't have any bearing on the function). The sound is really nice. Three different sound types, and each one combined with the various scales can lead to all sorts of creativity. As someone who has a little knowledge of music, but nothing extrodinary or even "average", GyroSynth is a fun program that brings out creativity. Is it for everyone? Probably not. But for free, it's worth a try if you read the description of the software and found it interesting. :)

Wonderful new instrument.. This thing is just awesome. Update please! It needs more features. There needs to be option of all octaves available at once- middle C reset location and choice over sensitivity and pitch change direction. A realtime display of note and sharp/flat. Vibrate at pitch change option- Screen touch buttons/surfaces options for manipulation live. Add reverb and control over reverb/delay parameters. More midi control options. Please consider these ideas and update this app.

Fun audio app!. This little app is lots of fun. More than one might imagine. Lots of room for experimentation with different sounds, and VERY easy to use. It takes some practice to make something musical though, so it can also be very annoying to those around you. ;) I only wish it was louder, so I didn't have to crank my device's volume to the max. Also, I would have given it 5 stars, but the sample recording function stopped working for me with the previous update, and isn't resolved as of this update either.

Unique and impressive. It's very accurate, sound is great (especially singing voice) after an hour I'm able to play any melody. friends are impressed.

Very happy!. I have loved this app forever but was pretty bummed when it didn't work with iOS 8. Now it does!!! Woo Hoo! Just one thing though is I've never been able to get the sampler to actually record from my mic input. Not on the previous version or this one. Other than that I absolutely love it.

Cool, Weird, Different. Fun to use, some pretty interesting sounds can be generated with Gyro. A few things are keeping me from being able to use this in my music: I'm having trouble figuring out how to reproduce the useful sounds I get, usually by chance, and I can't reproduce? I could either be a little GyroDeficient, or maybe it just needs some tweeks? I think it needs more, or better usable synth sounds, more musical, less noisey, non musical stuff-sound-things. Kinda like MorphWiz and SampleWiz, both Amazing apps, but a little too many non musical presets IMO. All in all, great fun interesting musical app.

Excellent. Right up there with Bebot, Twang and Mandolin as my fav music apps. I play several instruments and this is a very fun way to get a little music fix anywhere......by just rotating your wrist......excellent. Best 2 bucks you will spend in a long time.

Amazing. The ability to sample tracks had me awed - definitely going to show this off to friends!

Works really well and a lot of fun. This app is great. Prior to the update myself and even my kids had fun simply playing with this app and producing all sort of sonic sounds. There's real potential to take it even further in a professional manner now that it is integrated into Audiobus. Fantastic.

Awesome!. Fantastic app - you might not be able to record, but you can create your own music, play with your own samples, and I've even been jamming - playing it as an instrument... Highly recommended :)

Almost a 5!. A cool and fun way to make sounds and music. Some more advanced features for adjustments and customizations would make this app a 5!

Functionality. This app is great. The first thing I did was plug it into a recording program and used it for a lead solo. My issue is it is limited to one key per scale. For fun it's really cool. For practical use as an instrument maybe a key change option? And always more sounds :)

Amazing, futuristic, beautiful.... Love this thing... like walking into Taffy's bar in Bladerunner... can actually be played quite deftly as an instrument (been running it through a Korg Kaoss pad with brilliant results). Request for v.2 - more synth modules, more/selectable FX, sample import, the ability to assign parameters beyond waveform modification to the gyroscopic planes.

Great, unique!. Great app would love to see maybe an advanced section with more wave types and sounds....maybe an input for your voice with vocoder-type modulation or even auto tune would be really neat, thanks, keep up the good work!

Good app- fun with potential. Easy to use- try the blues major/minor scales, and fire off a solo. With practice it could be a great instrument using the chromatic scale. One problem; it needs the ability to change musical key(not a problem for chromatic scale) but handy for blues/ asian scales. Recommended.

Waste Of Time. What the point of this app anyway? So it makes shrill sounds based on the movement of the gyroscope. To call that music is a stretch. Think nails on a chalkboard.

Unreliable. Only works for a minute at best. After a while all the axes drift and it's unusable. The response is also much slower than any real theremin.

Waste of $2.99. This app won't sync to my brand new iphone 4G. I've redownloaded it 3 times, updated my itunes, and have tried everything to install it, but to no avail. I have 50+ apps and have NEVER had this problem.

Freakin' sweet!!. Immediate 'wow' effect. Very, very cool. Takes air guitar to a whole other level. Instantly one of my favorite apps.

Amazing performance instrument. One of my favorite music apps. I love to sample vocal phrases then use gestures to freeze and transpose individual phonemes. I will definitely use this on stage. Great job!!

Not much to it. Move your hand and it makes noise. Save $2 and just tap your desk a pencil.

A mess. Downloaded to my IPhone 4 and controls were quirky and inconsistent, then it started jumping all over the pkace even when I was holding it perfectly still. Should provide some other control interface option.

Musicians, buy now!. Update: Do not download or update this app! The new update is very unstable. I keep my memory usage low and never have problems with crashing, but this app rendered my iPhone completely unresponsive and I had to reboot the OS! Too bad they ruined a good thing. The coolest app ever. The only issues I found after a few minutes of sheer joy, is that the lowest note in the minor scale is the major tonic, and the lowest note in the major scale is the mediant. A simple update should fix that. Otherwise, completely bombastic!

Glad it works for others. For me I get choppy jerky sounds. Some sounds not repeatable with same movement. More a noisemaker than instrument.

Gyrosynth. I like the app overall, but I'm unable to record a new sample using the microphone or to play back any of the preset loops on my iPhone 5. I emailed the dev. And was told its a bug that will be fixed. Hopefully sooner than later!
