Muscle & Bone Anatomy 3D App Description & Overview

What is muscle & bone anatomy 3d app? An amazing reference for anyone interested in the human musculo-skeletal system. Featuring five different ways to learn about the body: The VIEWER, ACTIONS, 3-D MODELS, nine types of QUIZZES, and the MEDIA section.

VIEWER: The viewer allows you to control a 3D view of the body, with labels that lead to full screen images of 145 muscles each with the name, action, origin, insertion, nerve supply and comments for each muscle. The viewer also includes all the bones with detailed landmarks.

ACTIONS: The best way to learn about muscles is to group them into their actions. In this section, choose from over 37 body actions, and see an animation of the action, with a visual list of muscles that perform that action, plus comments in each section.

3D MODELS: There are seven 3D models, each model allows you to control a body area in 3-D space, with multiple stops along the way that identifying the structures and give comments on each area. Models cover the ankle, knee, pelvis, shoulder, face, hand, and a detailed look at the vertebrae.

QUIZZES: 9 types of quizzes! 18 pages of label matching quizzes where you have to match a name to the correct location. Multiple choice quiz builder that allows you to test the name, action, origin or insertion for each muscle. Skeletal quiz tests your knowledge of each bone name. These two quizzes feature adaptive quizzing which adds your missed answers to the Favorites, allowing you to test yourself on only what you have missed (or create your own quiz on just what you want to learn). The Action quiz tests your knowledge of every joint action in the body. The Spelling quiz tests spelling of muscle and bone names. The general quiz tests your knowledge of general muscle and bone anatomy subjects. You can also email your scores to an instructor or friend.

MEDIA: Thirty beautiful pages of basic muscle and bone info along with common musculo-skeletal conditions. Five imbedded videos (16 minutes) that give the basics of the muscular and skeletal system. These videos cover the arm, torso, face, leg, and fascia.

If you want to experience the future of digital education, this app is a great example of combining beautiful imagery, knowledge and interactivity, utilizing the full power of the iPad.

This app is used at multiple anatomy programs across the country.

Limited. This app is to limited and is completely worthless for a medical student. For some reason I can’t get a refund, so don’t waste your money.

Why can't I hear the names???. I really like this app... But I'm having trouble with the sound. I pick a muscle and tap the sound to hear the name of that muscle and I hear nothing. I want to give this app 5 stars but unless this problem gets fixed I can only give it 3. It would be a really good app if everything worked as it should, I hate to give it a bad review, but just be careful if you want an app that lets you see, read and hear all the muscle names. I really hope they fix this. If they do it's 5 stars.

Love this app - couple suggestions for updates. This app is very pleasant to use. It's quite informative and appealing. Its a good buy for the money. The images are completely 360 in view, and all muscles and bones seem to be covered in lots of detail, but viewable together or separate - which is nice when you are trying to learn the musculoskeletal systems! Just two suggestions. I would add a layer with the tendons and ligaments to make the learning complete. Also, I would work on the spin effect - sometimes it keeps turning after you remove your finger from the screen instead of locking in place. I look forward to all future updates! A great learning tool! - Nursing Student

Pilates student. Since discovering Pilates three years ago, I have been trying to understand anatomy of movement, even twice taking a Core Intelligence course to increase my understanding. Proprioception (body awareness), and body control are both new to me, this ap helps me understand the action of muscle on bone, since bone rhythms are a big component of well executed Pilates, this ap has been a huge help. I actually sat with my instructor yesterday as we reviewed the video on the leg and she was astounded at how helpful it is. She is buying the ap for her iPad!

Great Source of Information. I use this app and its siblings to be able to better communicate with my personal trainer. She is a former World champion and World record holder in power lifting, has her masters in exercise science and sports medicine, is a certified athletic trainer and an associate college professor teaching nutrition. In other words, she is a voluminous resource of knowledge and experience. This app allows me to better communicate with her, and to better understand and internalize what she is giving me. The presentation, information and graphics are outstanding.

Best studying tool by far!!!!!. I've spent a lot of money on text books and probably just as much on anatomy and physiology apps. I believe I spent $40 on one and it was a huge waste of money. It was extremely hard to navigate and even harder to comprehend the information. This is by far the best study tool I've ever had. It's worth every penny and then some. It's extremely user friendly and very comprehensive. The simple layout and stunning graphics make studying much more exciting. I also highly recommend their sister app for organs. The simple layout and condensed text is both easy to understand and very informative! The only thing I would request is more videos. The videos are very helpful and explain things so that novices have no trouble following along. Thank you for the wonderful app!

Expected better. This is not the greatest anatomy app out there. My major complaint is with the quizzes: it seems like the correct answer is the only one of the particular gross anatomy it is located. For example, when a muscle on the forearm appears, it will give you options ranging from the shoulder to leg to back with only one muscle actually located in the forearm- not challenging at all. Also, when isolating a particular muscle, there is no zoom or scroll option on the window, so on some longer muscles the origin and insertion may not be visible. I'd recommend shelling out the extra 10-15$ for a better designed anatomy app.

Best Study Tool. I love this app. I think the money I spent on it was the perfect amount. The only reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the quizzes are timed, and don't give you enough time to think. There are other quizzes that are not timed. I love that you can study just the bone or just the muscles because I have my first bone practical tomorrow before the muscle practical next week. Love that the pictures are cartoon or real life. If you are looking for an easy way to study this app is awesome. Don't waste your money on an app that is more then this one.

Wonderful resource for basic muscle ant skeletal anatomy!. I'm a Pilates instructor and I have found this app to be both a great refresher of my anatomy knowledge, and also a wonderful resource for my clients, helping them to deepen their own understanding of their bodies. I especially love the actions section, it's extremely useful for any movement therapist. My only wish is that there were more videos; the ones on there are great and I want more! I have an iPad 2 and have had no technical problems with audio or anything else.

Pretty good app. I'm a recent graduate with a degree in kinesiology and I must say this app is pretty solid. It is missing a few deep muscles I'd prefer to see, but it gives you the origin and insertion of all the muscles anyone would need to know. If I could give a tip to the dev's, it would be to add a few of the deeper back muscles. That is a big problem area for many patients I see and it helps to have a visual available. All in all though, I'm glad I have this at my disposable. It's good to keep yourself sharp and this does help instead of pulling out my huge anatomy books all the time.

Amazing App for beginners in AP 1. I did not take any anatomy & physiology in high school, but through the course of my college career I became very intrigued by the medical field. I am now studying to become a physicians assistant which means I really need to know my body and how it works! This application is the best money I have spent in college. I have learned all the muscles and bones paired with their functions due to the tools assembled within this ingenious app! I recommend this application to any and everyone who is or is not studying anatomy & physiology. This is by far a phenomenal app!!!!!!

Great!. I love this app and the quizzes are very helpful. I certainly use it all the time as a review. However, I did notice some spelling errors, and I learned that "movement of the arm across the chest" was horizontal adduction, which is not addressed (along with horizontal abduction). I would also like some more information on the nerves (such as their pathways and maybe some info on the plexuses). I also didn't notice a quiz on just the nerve innervations, which would be helpful. Nonetheless, thank you for the great app!

We Use it a lot. As a Somatic Educator and bodyworker, are use this app all the time to demonstrate and clarify what I am doing with my clients. They love it. I love it too!

Fantastic educational tool. I am a massage student and this app was recommended to me by a classmate. It was definitely paid for itself over the course of the next few months. I have difficulty studying via the traditional book method and this app's quizzes on the muscles and bones has been invaluable. I actually enjoy completing them and it even has a handy option to mark the ones that you get wrong so that you can go back and review them later. Another feature I like is that you can see muscles in motion, and this is something most apps do not offer. I highly recommend this app for healthcare professionals and those in training.

Quizzes are a JOKE.. But overall not a bad app.. I am a doctor of physical therapy student, and looking for an app that could quiz me to keep me fresh. This app has nice graphics, and I like the way that it shows this different muscle groups involved in each movement, But the quizzes could not be more easy. For example they will show the temporalis, and some of the options for action will be extend the pinky or internally rotate the hip.. Come on... Please make the quizzes more difficult, and then this would be a five star app!!!! Or at least have a variable difficulty in the quizzes, cause this app has so much potential!!!

Ok for basic patient education.. Watch for mistakes.... I am physical therapist assistant and I just bought this app today because of the great 3D graphics. Nice clear views for patient education on basic muscles and over view of the skeletal system.. except the foot. Within10 minutes, I noticed a huge mistake in the hip movement section. It is mentioned that for hip internal and external rotation and hip adduction and abduction that the HUMERUS is the long bone in the leg instead of the FEMUR...so if you are using this as a study tool...Beware of mistakes....Please fix this and I would give it more stars.... THANKS for fixing all the mistakes. Now you deserve 5 stars!!!!!!

Great but not perfect. As an exercise science student this app was extremely helpful in my AnP studies as well as my exercise physiology classes. That being said there are some things that could be improved upon. First the 3d models should include the elbow and some of the models should include ligaments and tendons as well as the muscle. Second the ability to zoom in on some of the models would be helpful. That being said the descriptions and depictions of the anatomy is accurate and very helpful. I would recommend this for undergrad studies or anyone wanting to improve their knowledge of AnP, however for graduate studies or the professional this app could be lacking

LMT education and client education. I used this app in lieu of bringing Trail Guide to the Body to class, during my initial education and in all continuing education. I occasionally take quizzes as a refresher. However, this app shines in client education. Especially if they have been misinformed by personal trainers or the Great Fount of All Knowledge, the Internet. I can show them the screen while manipulating the muscle or moving the related joint. I use it on an older iPhone (5 series), iPad and iPad mini. It’s a bit of a struggle for older eyes on the phone screen, but the tablets are easy to see.

Perfect for fitness instructors. I've been a trainer for 10 years and am just starting to use an iPad instead of my trusty old NSCA clipboard. In the past I've used print outs that illustrate things like the hip flexors, rotator cuff, scapular stabilizers, vertebrae, etc in order to give clients a visual of what we're working on. This app obviously shows all that in good detail and then some! A perfect level of detail for my purposes. Very excited to incorporate it.

Could be a lot better. As a kinesiology student at The University of Tennessee, I was looking to use this app as a study tool. It seriously lacks the detail needed to study from. For the money I thought that I would have gotten a better product. It's only for muscles and bones and not EVERYTHING else so I thought that it would be muscles and bones in high detail, but it's not. I would love to see a nice big upgrade that gave a lot more detail to the bone structures and ligaments, including the small ligaments. I wish I could give it a 5 star but until I see a big improvement. It's not worth buying. Would make a good free app though.

Great! (but found it late). I wish I would've downloaded this 3 months sooner to help enlighten and further illustrate some of the things I learned in the Coursera course 'Out on a Limb: The Anatomy of the Upper Limb'. Regardless, I compared closely when I decided to get one of these apps and I can truly say I am glad I spent 4.99 for this app. It's interface, organization and quality of illustrations is amazing. Now I use it as a tool for referencing the aching muscles I have so I can get busy with the foam roller. Thanks for an instructive and affordable app on this topic!

Great. Great for fast review of anatomy and for patients education

Best Anatomy Tool!. I am a professional fitness instructor and personal trainer and I love using this app. It's quick and the voice feature is awesome because I want to make sure that I not only know what I'm talking about but I can say the name correctly. I really like using it.

Great Help for Workouts. I use this app frequently to inform stretches and workouts for my older body. Though never an athlete, I was once in pretty decent shape with regular cardio and strength workouts and appropriate stretching. An overly long hiatus from that routine has sent me back to the starting block with a need for patience and body knowledge that presents an all new challenge. I find that I am better able to address recalcitrant muscles, new aches and pains, stiffness, etc. if I can visually identify the relevant joints, muscles and connective tissue involved. This app is great for finding, viewing and learning about all those "moving parts' that don't quite move the way they used to. I am better able to discuss progress with my trainers, docs, etc. if I correctly refer to a body part by name, rather than saying that "it's that bump thingy just at the tip of the 'wing' on my shoulder blade." And there's something to be said -- as a lay person -- for 'knowing oneself' inside and out.

Great Massage Exam Prep App. I got this app to study to take the MBLEx massage therapy license exam. It is truly outstanding! The 3D rotation and detail of the muscles is so worth the few dollars it costs. I had a difficult time understanding the depth of the different muscles based on diagrams in books and other iPad apps. This blew them all out of the water and I could finally clearly see where the muscles really were in relation to the muscles around them. The quizzes were also great prep!

Finally!. I have never bothered to write a review before but this app is incredible. I'm purchased this to study for a personal trainer exam. The information is easy to access and understand. The quizzes are easy to customize. The graphics and 3D are what really did it for me. I can finally understand how all the muscles work together! I've learned more in a week than I did trying to study from other apps and books in a month. I'm serious. It is really fun and engaging unlike anything else I have worked with. Overall, it is just an incredible value!

Love this app!. As a busy personal trainer I find this app an invaluable tool when working with clients. I use it to help clients visualize the muscles they are working on in action. This gives them a more intimate knowledge and feel for their body which creates better results. Thank you and please keep adding on to this app!

Love it!!. Its a great app! Doesnt have all the muscles i need and a few more than i need but great studying tool. Only have a few wishes. I wish you could "zoom in" on the full body more. And i would love to be able to rotate the parts that are zoomed in to get better/different views. When taken the create your own quizes, it would be nice to have similar parts instead of a neck, arm, leg, and stomach muscle. The only real issue I've had is the quiz and sometimes just turning the body causes the program to freeze. --PA student

Great app for clinicians and patients. Excellent app. Easy and fun tool for reviewing anatomy plus I use it to show patients areas of the body they have injured that I am rehabilitating during Physical Therapy. Suggestions for future update: I would like to see 3-D view that includes more superficial muscles and all of the bones of the ankle/foot similar to what has been done for the hip, more superficial muscles of the shoulder and anterior neck, face information boxes to the side of the neck vs. over the anatomy and a 3-D image peeled down to the skull bones plus an addition of the elbow and hand 3-D muscles and bones. I am looking forward to the evolution of this app. Keep it coming!

A wonderful app for anyone who needs to understand the body. I'm into fitness, especially resistance exercises. I need to understand the muscular system and how exercise affects the body. Moreover, I need to know what certain pains can mean when an injury hits unexpectedly. That way I know how to work with it and rid myself of the problem. That's where this app comes in. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to pay this much for an iPad app. But this is worthy of the price. Not only do you get a 3D view of the entire body, muscular and skeletal system, but you also get video that fully explains it all. Now, I'm not in medicine. But, for anyone who is, this is a must-have. I doubt you'll find a better program for your iPad. But I highly recommend it to anyone.

Massage related - A++++. As a newly certified massage therapist, I was struggling with studying A&P throughout training, and preparing for the MBLEx. Using this program really helped me review and pick up A&P stuff that I hadn't caught onto previously, and sure enough I passed the exam the first time, and I give all the thanks to this program for that. A few dollar charge to download is way better than having to pay $195 to retake an exam. This is a program that I can never go without!!!!

Best Anatomy App for testing. This really helps with my studies.

Great app. This app is great, it helps me with improving my muscle knowledge and soap notes.

Very Nice, Easy to Use!. I really like this reference. I am a student Esthetician, and this is enormously helpful in understanding the bones and muscles, and how they work together. I love the additional learning options of the movies and 3D model... it is so easy to see how a bone or muscle wraps around the body. I also love the action models, to see how the muscle and bone move together. I am amazed at the price for this reference! The navigation is also fairly intuitive, and for all of the complexity of the information being offered, it works very smoothly... a few navigational rules to remember, and you are all set. This has been very helpful in my studies, and I can see this being a very useful and effective tool for me to stay sharp in the future, as well. Highly recommended.

Great for anatomy students!!!. I'm taking anatomy right now and this has been a huge help in getting familiar with the muscles of the body. Pros: Very thorough and very accurate as compared to my lab book (~95%). Quiz feature is awesome. I just wish there were a feature in quizzes that was fill in the blank like on a lab practical. Cons: Nothing major. Missing a couple muscles as compared to my book: internal/external intercostals and flexor digitorum superficialis. Origins and insertions don't agree with my book 100%. It would be nice if you could zoom in on the 3D model instead of having separate close-up images. Probably harder to do though. A more customizable quiz section would be better too. Overall: This was more worth the money than my text book. I still need my text book but this is a really good supplement. -Students might appreciate a similar app on cats since it is a common animal used in anatomy dissection.

Fantastic!. I don't mind paying for a good app. This was money well spent! The user interface is slick and the amount of anatomical data outstanding. I use the app for my own reference with respect to sports (i.e., learning more about body systems and how they interact during my favorites - running and cycling). This app has also been useful when working with my Physical Therapist as it has given me a better understanding of what we were working on and how my actions might help or hinder therapies.

Buy it! It's what you're looking for.. This app is incredible. I have purchased all of the Real Bodywork apps because I was so impressed. This app has all the basic information you need to know about muscles, actions, insertions, origins, related nerves, etc. The contents of this app would take a textbook hundreds of pages to describe. There are many videos and 3D visuals that you have complete control over. Apps like this one are the beginning of electronic teaching and learning. You won't be disappointed with this app. I would recommend it to anyone studying or going into the medical field. I really hope Real Bodywork will come out with a tissues and integumentary app!

Pretty good, pretty basic. I liked this app bc it only focuses on muscle and bone. As a yoga student, this is what I need to learn. A lot of the more costly apps have a ton of other details that I won't need to learn (organs, nerves, etc). But there are limitations in the app. They don't label the views (e.g., posterior, anterior, etc). This can make it challenging to know what you are looking at. The graphics are lower quality/less detailed than more costly anatomy apps. The quizzes are nice, but just multiple guess (as opposed to fill in the blank). Overall, for those on a budget, this is a good app.

Excellent Anatomy App. I used this app in my practice as a licensed massage therapist. The graphics are so well done and it was excellent to share with my clients. Just wish I had it when I was a student therapy student years ago. Now retired, I use this app in my own strength training and love it!

Great app quizzes need work. This app is awesome and has a lot of useful bone and muscle information, there's not much they can change or add to the information to make it any better. The two issues I have are with the quiz sections. 1- they do not have the nerve innervations which would be very helpful as one of the quizzes. They do however have action, origin and insertion quizzes. Which brings me to point 2 2- the quizzes could be setup better. When I am taking a quiz on the arm muscles and it shows me an arm muscles to identify and 3/4 of the multiple choice answers are leg muscles it doesn't encourage a learning environment. They need to keep possible answers on the quizzes regional to the part of the body of the quiz you are taking.

Incredibly useful!. I'm a high school student in Science Olympiad, and for one of my events I am studying the musculoskeletal system. I've found that this is the BEST ELECTRONIC LEARNING RESOURCE I have found so far! It's extremely organized, featuring 3D models, videos, pronunciation, details about each bone and muscle (origin, insertion, action, etc), and self-quizzes. Great for visual learners like me, who find it helpful to drag things around in different angles to view them. The app has a very easy-to-use interface, but the content is not elementary at all--the information is quite detailed. LOVE THIS APPPPPP

Extremely Helpful!!. I am studying for my certification in pilates and this app is SO useful! It is better than any flashcards or anatomy book. Simple, but exactly what i needed It has made learning a massive amount of information enjoyable and easy. The quizzes are a perfect way to test all of the information I have obtained. I highly recommend this for anyone interested in the body and/or needing to study for a test of certification like myself!

Distance Runners Love This. As long-time distance runners, we've had our share of major and minor injuries. We're very curious about the exact location of muscles and tendons and how and where they're connected. This app is so clear and graphic and really gives us the full picture of what could be going on. One feature we love is being able to see the joints in motion. What a revelation that was. It's such good information. Perhaps one could go online and find much of this at separate sites, but having it all together in one location is much more useful because it gives you better context. So far, I think this was worth every penny. We'd love to see this expanded so that everything that's labeled is a link with further explanation. I have seen a few misspellings, but I am a stickler for spelling, so I always notice. My guess is that this app will continue to improve even further over time. I'm willing to pay for good information like this. This was quite a find for us.

Great. This app is great! It has really helped me learn the muscles. Great recent update.

Buy it!. I am a sophomore in college and my girlfriend is as well. She is going to school to become a nurse. I bought the app for her because I thought it would be something good for her to use; however, when I was sitting there with her while she was studying I started getting more interested in it. Now we both use it and have a blast with the quizzes and we like to quiz each other. This is a very useful app and I highly recommend it to anyone going into the medical field to use this or if you are just interested more about your body. I also recommend this to any guy whose girlfriend is going into the medical field, because when she first saw it she was very pleased and happy to see that i cared about her future! Once again I highly recommend this app to anyone! I give it two thumbs up or two pollex up!

Over-rated App.. I want to start out this review by stating that in theory, this app would be fantastic; in reality however, some egregious flaws diminish the overall value of the app. The muscle cards provide clear descriptions of the action, origin, insertion, and innervation of each of the muscles presented. With that being said, many muscles are omitted from the app, mostly in the foot it seems. Overall, for $7, this app is well worth the money; just bear in mind that some things are not included. As an aspiring physical therapist, this app will be more useful in the future (to show patients their specific pathophysiology), but in studying the muscles now, I may be limited by content of the app. This app has the potential to be fantastic, with a few upgrades to include some of the omitted muscles.

Disappointed in tutorials and quiz. I was so excited with this app initially and it does have its good points but there are downsides. I got the app to study for my massage boards. The tutorials are misleading as they state certain muscles cause movements to bones even when the muscle is not attached to that bone. For college level, this does not work for studying. The latissamis dorsi DOES NOT depress the scapula. Just because the scapula moves when adducting the arm does not mean it moves this bone. Secondly in the quiz section it would be nice if they tried to make it hard on some of the questions. For example, when you show me a muscle on the leg and one of the options is about movement of the leg but the other three options are in relation to movement of the hip it is a no brainier and therefor is not challenging at all. I want to have to think about it, not choose the ONLY answer that makes sense for the location.

OMG a Massage Professional Must Have!. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Absolutely love this & is (beyond) exactly what I was looking for. You get insight on the superficial and deeper muscles and bones, fascia, movement & MORE! ....Their purpose, job & location in correspondence to it's " neighbors"..... Love this love this LOVE this app! The 3d affect is a super added bonus. The info & insight is user friendly & very educational. A reintroduction to the education we already have & might have ( slightly) forgotten. I am a MP of 13 years... I love this.. My clients love this... So worth the money! Puts you ahead of the " game"!

Great app. I'm may only be 15, but the P.A. I work with, told me that a head start for "life as a doctor" would be to study the bone/muscle structures and functions. I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon, but regardless of what type of doctor you dream to be, the one topic that everyone has to learn is this. This app makes learning the scientific terminology of bones and muscles a very simple task. Ive been using this app for under five minutes and I've memorized at least 15 terms.

I teach yoga. I use this app all the time for reference and with my students. It’s awesome!

Excellent. Really useable, very detailed, great resource app.

Good App for Anatomy students. Its a good app. Hopefully will add more muscles In the next update.

Nice. Very nice app simple and and informative. What would be nice is the ability to zoom in on the model and more information about the muscles and the different groups, great for someone wanting to study fitness and learn the different muscle groups as well as the individuals muscles.

muscle and bone app. A great beginners tool for PE and biology students. Good visual learning.

Awesome!. So close to perfect. I'm sure that as more information is added eg would like more information on the Lymphatic system including a detailed 3D diagram with all the lymph nodes. Some other areas likewise need more info but other than that, what a fantastic app! Keep up the good work :o)

Great for study. Sooo helpful in my study. Love this APP. Keep up the good work

Great study tool. I am using this app a great deal for my anatomy studies at university. I really like the videos. The quizzes are handy to get familiar with the names and general place of an anatomical structure. Love the origin, insertion, function info too.

Great app. This app helped me to understand some sporting injuries. A great resource for the non medico types.

Great app. Use it all the time, when I was studying and regularly go back and refer to it. Love it.

excellent. a fantastic reference/learning tool! I wish they had things like this when I was an undergrad!! does crash occasionally though

Great value. Extensive coverage of muscular anatomy with actions and insertion points, perfect study partner for personal training course.

Greats. :)

Muscle and bone Ap. Love it! Easy to use, informative and accurate.

Great for beginners. As mentioned in other reviews, this is not an app for professionals, as the detail is not great enough, but it is the perfect app for undergrads studying anatomy.

Lacking. Good overall anatomy review. But lacks a lot of muscles. Especially in the forearm and lower leg.

Very informative fantastic! Invaluable app. Fantastic app! Using this for my personal training studies. I would be lost without it!

Great app!. As a personal trainer I use this app a lot to explain different areas of the body to my clients. Easy and intuitive to use!

Easy to use & informative. Great graphics and manoeuvrability. As an interested amateur I was better informed and better armed with accurate information.

Great app. This app is amazing especially for med students who find anatomy not interesting and hard. The muscles are organised in compartments based in their function which i extremely like. Keep up the good work. Definitely worth the price.

Great app!. Currently studying Human anatomy and was struggling with my course notes that they gave me, but this app has helped me out so much with my studies and understanding muscles and bones.

Awesome. I started using this app to help me study for my fitness diploma and it is a great tool for learning. The pictures are very clear and the quizzes are good fun and help me to remember. It would be great to see more videos as they are very informative and not at all boring. Great work!!!!

Informative. As a swim coach I use this app to identify muscles, how they work and body movement.

Perfect study companion & visual tool for treatments. This is not only a awesome study companion, clients love to be shown what was worked on and how the results are obtained. I find if a client can visualise and mentally understand what and why, the positive results of the treatment are achieved quicker.

Mrs. Handy app. I like the way you can study the same anatomy in different ways.

Great for learners. Its a great app for learners and i can also help kids learn at their schools and other places. Dimo 188

Worth investment. Easy to learn and remember . It’s also assist me to understand fast. Pronouncing also helps my confidence to say the name of muscles. Thanks a million

Great app. As a therapist I find this great to show clients the troubled area when treating injuries well done!!!

good app indeed. very helpful as first year anatomy study focus on basic muscles and bones this app really give me all the information i need, especially the movement of the joint with all the info on which muscles has used in each movement, would be good if the bony landmarks are are more clear. Strongly recommended. Good on price as well.

Below average. No where near comprehensive enough for medical student use. Neglects to include several key muscles (such as FDP), and does not group muscles into functional groups.

Almost perfect, no audio. I have always loved this app but I don't have audio anymore.

Worth every $$. I'm quite impressed with this app, especially due to the fact that all other anatomy apps are $25+ and this was much less with more specific content. Brilliant for general anatomy studies. Only issues I raise are: - The rotating skeleton controls. Please let us rotate and zoom it to where we want instead of its auto lock feature, it's annoying - The search engine works generally well but it doesn't have all of what's labelled in the diagrams in the search engine. Eg. Vertebra. Please fix! This app will be greater if these are fixed. Either way, if you're someone browsing this, don't hesitate to buy.

Fantastic app!. Great for helping to rote learn the complex names and landmarks for functional anatomy

Great app. Currently studying remedial massage and physiotherapy and with this app, it makes it so much easier to understand the process

A great educational tool for little ones. My nearly 3 year old daughter has really enjoyed learning about her bones and muscles.

Great fun. Really interesting fun way to learn, great graphics and quizzes

Good For Artists. I'm currently learning the human muscle system for drawing and having a 3D model to rotate is much better than an anatomy book. Choice of gender for model and more definition to the muscle shapes would be a welcome addition, but reasonable value for the price.

muscleprp. good for showing basic info to clients but not detailed enough for professional use

Brilliant study companion. Use it. Love it. What’s next?

Make quiz harder. I bought the app to study massage, I find it easy to use and the pics are nice and clear. Would just like the multichoice quiz to be harder. The correct answer is easy to pic as the other 3 options are compleatly non related to the body area. Also would like to be quizzes on the name action and insertion, origin all in the same quiz.

Best. Best anatomy app for the price by far

Totally Junior. Really underwhelming and not what I was after. The interactivity is set at an elementary school level with 2D pictures of joints and muscle groups are only interactive on the most basic level and do not rotate or strip down or do anything especially helpful. Now i'm going to shell out an extra $21 on Muscle Pro 3, which actually does grownup things for grownup practitioners.

It's a keeper. I picked up this app back in 2010 when I just wanted to know a few muscle names. Now as a professional remedial therapist, it's still my first point of call for muscle placements, origins and insertions, bony landmarks and tendon placement. For everyone from Joe Bloggs wondering where the traps are, to musculoskeletal therapists checking the insertion point of the piriformis on the femur, this app is gold! Also those quizzes are awesome

Amazing. This app is amazing, I wish I had have found it when I was doing all those exams. Shell

Good ap.. Good ap. I would like to see more flexibility in the views but is very user friendly. The ap helps with different learning styles of individuals because of quizzes, 3D models and facts. Good for price.

Love it. It's so detail and interactive with quizzes and the rotation 3D human body. I recommend to 30 over of my friends that has downloaded as well..

Very helpful. This app has been useful in my study. I have had it for a month and regularly refer to it. I expect I will continue to do so too.

Great... But. It's a really easy to use, helpful app for my studies as a first year physio. But although I'm only doing introductory anatomy in class, the app isn't as detailed as it needs to be :( Still a great app. Recommend it

Great app for first year Physios studying MUSCULOSKELETAL ANATOMY! :). Great for learning names, positions, actions, attachments, movements, body planes and all basic kinesiological factors of learning musculoskeletal anatomy! In 3D also, so great for visual leathers!

Very functional. Good ap. i was trying to remember the one my physio recommended and found this. I like the different angles. Took a couple of goes to work out the functions but it is my go to app for my teaching as a pilates instructor. Happy to recommend!

Awesome update !. Just like the title says, the latest update makes this app even nicer!

Very benificial!!. This app has improved my quality and assisted me in every aspect for my college course in anatomy I love it

Good. It’s a good app.

Amazing!!!. This aps help me see where sometimes it hursts so I can work on the problem. Great!!!!

Even better!. Great app, improved so much with the latest update, love it!

Always Crashes. Every time I used the movement function it stops and then crashes.

Terrible App. Doesn't contain all the muscles! If you were using this to study, and knew it by heart, you would likely only get 70% on a final. Very poor pictures of forearm and hand. They also missed the boat badly on how the iPad can be used to zoom, twist and turn for different angles. Waste of money

Great!. Very useful app for explaining the body to my patients.

Translation. How CAN i learn if I speak french? Please, help me!

Great. I got this app for the kids to learn. Great app, kids are interested.

Lots of work on this, thanks!. More complete and fun to use

Great app!. This App is very helpful in showing clients the function of their muscle imbalances. It brings a clearer level of awareness which most people don't have unless you are a health practitioner. It is very well done, precise and love evert aspect of it!

Pour graphics résolution and quality. Pour graphics résolution and quality

I love it.. I would recommend this app to anyone in a medical field . This is very useful. I use it for review and to keep my fresh . Well worth the money

Love. This app is great!

Very helpful. A member of our family was injury, this app prove helpful in understanding the injury. We are not health professionals , but over the years serveral members had extensive training in first aid. So we were delighted to use this as visual aid. Thank you for designing this app. Al

Very nice app. This is a great anatomy app. I recommend it highly.

Great App. This is an amazing app! Some of the terms are slightly different then the anatomy books I've previously studied but you will find that with all anatomy books! This app actually has me excited to quiz myself daily! I would recommend this app to anybody studying anatomy and movement! I'm on my way to certifying in Pilates and this is an amazing tool at the tip of my fingers! My only issue with the app is every time I do the bone landmarks quiz over 100 questions when I get to the last question it crashes the app. I've completed it 3 times now and each time it crashed. I don't wanna lose all my test scores by deleting the app and starting over but it looks like that may be my only option and its a crappy 1. Please fix this glitch.

Great app. This is a great app very helpful. And informative

BUY IT!. This app is FANTASTIC!!! They've got quizzes, interactive 3D models, videos, explanations--everything I need to ace my anatomy test (which I was sure was a hopeless task). Well worth the 7 bucks--I'll be using this for a VERY long time.

Wonderful resource for exercise leaders. This app is a terrific resource for learning about muscles, bones, motion, etc if you are aiming to become an exercise and fitness leader or yoga instructor.

Wow. Nothing short of amazing. Thank you!

Needs all muscles. For a visual learner found the app to be a great tool, however, the app is missing a lot of muscles and would prefer a program to be complete not 70% complete. The quiz is a great addition to the app, but would love answers to be related to muscle in question to be challenging. I personally would like to see improvements to it to make it worth paying for.

Great app!. What an amazing app! I wish I had this when I was in school for massage therapy. Absolutely great for client education. Thank you

Perfect tool. I am currently doing my Personal Trainer Certification and this app has been of great help. The graphics are clear and the way to access the information is quite friendly.

Great application. A+. I love this application. It's a must!

Worth it!. It is a great app for studying. Very helpful and worth every penny.

Awesome App. I'm a personal trainer and have been using this app as a visual aid for my clients. Invaluable! Get it!

Great app. Whether you're occupied in a medical field that requires you to explain and display what you're saying to educate clients/patients or you're like me and you just want to learn about the muscular and skeletal systems, this is a great app that will supply you with quite alot of quality information and is the best app based on this information that i've found for the price. Personally, my favourite part about it, is that it provides tests to chalkenge what you've learned to help reenforce your memory. From me, it comes highly recommended.

Fun and informative. I didn't expect much when I bought this, but after giving it a try it has entertained and impressed. It's fun and makes you smarter.

Great app. This app has helped my practice a lot.

Great app. This is a great app. It was kind of ok in the beginning but got so much better after update. Comparable to any of the other expensive apps. This one is great, and worth every cost. I'm very happy I got it. Great graphics and very detailed info.

Wow ! Thanks a lot !. Very useful for osteopathic studies.

Great visuals. As a visual learner I benefited from the pics, videos in this app to help me learn and identify muscles, origins, insertions +++

Fantastic. Most comprehensive, detailed medical anatomy app I've seen yet.

Waste of money. Save your money and get all the same info on Wikipedia. Just a collection of photos.

Helpful but incomplete. The movements which this app shows are very clear and helpful. However, there are some smaller or more specialized movements which are not included. More details please!

Informative and helpful but ..... A lot of information and most muscles are there but the user interface is weird and not very usable. It should use standard layers view, not 360 spin to access to the muscle/bones layers. Also, the search tool should offer more filters than alphabetical. Finaly, the graphics are not HD at all.

Good, but not really 3D. This app is fairly well designed and includes most pertinent information, however it also has some short-comings. It is not really 3D per se. The body can be rotated, but labels only show up on the anterior and posterior plane. Also, when a muscle is selected, a 2D image pops up to highlight it. I was hoping for a 3D model that could be rotated with a single muscle highlighted. This is not possible. A good attempt, but I would not pay $7 for it again.

Great app. Awesome presentation of anatomy! I use this for educating my trainers and it is so incredibly useful! I wish I had this in university for studying.

Movements and all. I really didn't want to pay for an app when I was using it more for review. Am I glad I did. Not only do they show you the muscles and bones, they show you movements and what muscles are involved. Studying was made easier and my grades improved. My prof saw me using it and has now added it to the syllabus as a recommended "book". Thank you for the A!

Wow!!. The title of the review says it all! As a massage therapist, personal trainer, and group exercise instructor I have found this app to be nothing short of amazing. It is extremely user friendly and extremely fun. Whatever your level of expertise is, this app is a great tool, and an unbelievable bang for the buck at just $4.99. I can't recommend it enough!!

Professor. I teach life drawing at the university level. This is a useful app for my students to learn about the details of the body. Though the resolution is not the best this app allows the user to rotate the figure, remove and add muscles and identify the various muscles. One good feature not found in some other apps that also do the preceding things is the pronunciation feature. The 03 version also provides some motion views.

Life saver!. Awesome anatomy review and studying tool. There isn't every single process, foramen, notches, etc. on some of the skeletal system parts but it's ok! The pictures are clear and I add my own notes with my professors as well. Really good to have when you don't have access to a model at home.

Pretty Awesome!. I showed this to a physical therapist. He was so angry since it would have saved him so much study time in College. I do wish there were more interaction between the items inside the Actions, 3D Models, Viewer, Quiz, and Media. It's also lame that when you click on the support inside the settings, it takes you to a website that requires Flash. Hello!!! What's up with that? It's an IPad App. No Flash Here!!!

Great study tool for Human A&P Course. I got this for fun but ended up using it as a study tool for my Human A&P course while finishing up my pre-med degree. It's awesome! I loved being able to zoom in or to just concentrate on a particular part than the whole body view that is in books. I loved using this with the Kno book for the course. Combined, you visually can't go wrong!

High school anatomy teacher. This app is so helpful. It is so much better than a static textbook. I love that individual muscles can be selected and it gives you origin, insertion, action, innervation, and most importantly pronunciation!! I noticed one error so far: the zygomatic bone has a temporal process, not a zygomatic process. Thanks!

Ann. This is the perfect source for studying....you don't have to carry around a bunch of big books. I tried a couple other apps before this one and they weren't as thorough or colorful. I'm preparing for an exam and use this daily. It is very user-friendly and has lots of different options. I wish I would've had this app when I was younger in school.

Well worth the money. I bought it to help prep me for school and for my personal trainer certification. I only expected some labeled images and some repetitive quizzes, but I got so much more. It makes it easy and fun to learn the full muscular structure as well as bones. My fiancé can even use the app for her anatomy and physiology classes. Well worth the money

Fantastic reference for muscles and bones. This is such an excellent way to learn and relearn the body, I wish it would go farther than just muscles and bones. We need to add all the other parts of the body such as blood vessels, nerves, organs. This one app I have definitely referenced many times, as a practicing physician I have found it very helpful.

Love it!. I'm finally using my iPad for what it was designed to do! This app is well worth the <$5 I paid for it. I'm in nursing school and the 3D images and easy navigation make it an excellence study tool. It is really fast, very interactive and greatly detailed. I would have paid double!

Wow!. I bought this app last November as I was taking an Anatomy class to begin my Pilates instructor training. I always loved the quizzes in this app, but hadn't used it for a while. I just checked it out again after the latest update and it's like a whole new app! I love the comments about the muscles, the videos and the 3-D model. This app is going to be a lifesaver - thank you for making it!

Great for students. This application is a great for test preparation, as it not only allows you to create your own quizzes on just the items you need to learn, but also lets you quiz yourself on spelling. The best part, for me, is the labeling quiz type, because it mimics lab quizzes in which you must recall and identify a muscle or bone. A godsend.

A Real Multi-Tasker!. As a Certified Personal Trainer specializing in performance enhancement, I find this app very beneficial to show my clients exactly what we are doing and why - and how it interacts with the other body parts. Great visuals. Great ease of use and fun to use too. I highly recommend it for professionals and non-professionals alike as a visual aide to body structure and function.

A need. This is a huge help for me in my anatomy class. If they add more muscles and make the quizzes more user friendly. By snapping answers into their positions I would easily rate this a 5. I really enjoy this app and look forward to updates! App is a must shows off iPad really well also.

Great app but can still use some more. This is a wonderful app and has helped me a lot! Suggestions for future updates would be an interface for ligaments and tendons as well. Also being able to rotate the person up/down and diagonally. If those were in future updates 5 stars and the best anatomy app on the market for a great price!

Clear informative knowledge. This app is awesome, love the 3d pictures, videos, voice talk description and pronunciation. You can spin the model to see diff levels. Very easy to understand. I downloaded it to see what could be making a friends arm hurt when she fell from slipping on ice. We suspected right away which bone was affected....and the app was very helpful.

Worth so much more. This application is full of amazing and interesting information. It has helped me to discover a lot of things about my own body. I thought it was great when I had originally downloaded it, but with this latest update it is better than ever. For the price you can't go wrong considering how much information this app contains. Can't recommend this enough.

Great App!!. Being a studio owner that combines traditional approaches with virtual applications, I find this app very beneficial. It provides essential lessons on the muscles that are involved in faulty movement patterns and improper posture. My clients love the fact that I am able to not only explain corrective techniques, but also provide them with visual evidence. This app is highly recommended! As a physical education teacher, this app engages my students in interactive lessons and helps me to create innovative assignments.

Nice app. This app is great for displaying individual muscles and bones with additional information including insertion, origin, innervation, etc. I purchased it this morning and have already used it to educate a patient about a muscle stretching technique. The sole reason it received 4 stars from me is because it did not contain (or rather, I could not find) pelvic floor musculature in the app. Otherwise, I would consider this a 5 star app for the price.

Human anatomy. This app is a very useful instruction in Human Anatomy. I'm a medical student and it has helped me to prepare for my practical exams with it's versatility and it's great graphics it really helps you prepare. If your a student or just enjoy learning about the human body this is a great app at a reasonable price. Looking forward to more medical apps from these folks!

An amazing app. I absolutely love this app!! It was essential that I find an app to provide 3D images and references to help in my myology and kinesiology course. This app has transformed my studying, and my understanding of the intrinsic makeup of the magnificent vessel that is our sacred body. crystal clear images, high tech 3D models! Just an amazing resource : ) Get it for your kids, your college friends, aspiring bodywork professionals!

Great review for ACE exam. This app is so much better than using flash cards to learn names, actions, origins, and insertions for the muscles tested on the ACE personal trainer exam. I really like that you can make your own list of muscles (or bones) to test so that you don't have to keep seeing material that isn't on your test. The videos are helpful, too.

Great for my ballet students. I am a ballet teacher who is also trained in emergency medicine, anatomy & physiology! I am very into teaching my students to understand their bodies & train in a healthy manner. This has been so helpful in showing them how to reach their maximum movement potential to create the beauty of the art of Ballet! Thank you. I recommend this app for anyone interested in functional anatomy, not just gross anatomy!

Keep it up. This is a great app. Very professional. But I would like to be able to truly isolate a muscle visually. I have a very old app by 3D4 that I will still have to refer to in order to zoom in on an insertion for instance. The rotating skeleton in this app is a great idea for showing depth, but it misses some important muscles, and doesn't give enough detail on others. but my patients love it and it really helps in communicating. Thanks! I'm keeping my eyes open for more of your great apps.

ONE SUGGESTION!. Add a feature to where you can put a 'pin' on a bone when you pull up the bone so you can add notes to a specific location of that bone! Ex. The clavicle on here doesn't mention the Conoid Tubercle...so instead of writing about it in a note, and a "pin" feature, so then I can tap the pin and it will say Conoid Tubercle!

Easy App. I ordered this app because I was curious to see how it worked. It has come in handy when explaining to my doctor about where my pains are. I also use it to look up minor ailments and their causes. It an informative application.

Very good/intuitive. As someone who trains and receives a lot of physical therapy, I found this very useful in being able to better identify the muscles/bones my trainers reference. Also good when discussing injuries and rehab. I'm sure there are more comprehensive references (e.g. Netters Atlas of Anatomy), but this great for the advanced lay person and for professionals communicating with patients.

Amazing!. I bought this app to help me study for Certified Personal Trainer exam. It is exactly the study partner I needed. I love that I can hear the pronunciation of the words! I'm also currently in physical therapy for SI joint problems, it is so helpful to be able to, see up close where my issues are. Highly Recommend this app.

very useful app in the clinic. As a clinician I use this to show patients, friends, and relatives the parts of their musculoskeletal systems that may be hurting them and/or needing PT or other bodywork. They find it useful to be able to see these lifelike figures and motions available on the app. Personally, as I age, I use this app to remind myself of from where my own aches and pains are derived and the stretches or other exercises that may help alleviate these pains. My only complaint (4 stars vs. 5) is that sometimes I'd like a bit more detail, especially in the nerve area: where do different nerves traverse? 40 years after taking anatomy sometimes I need a reminder. And of course sometimes what I think is nerve is muscle (and vice versa), which can occasionally be sorted out by NCVs and/or EMGs. Overall a very useful app and well worth the expense.

Using it for kids. Nice app, my young kids have taken an interest in basic anatomy (muscle and bone names). I got this app to encourage that interest. Nice pictures, diagrams and labels. I am not an anatomy expert so I cannot attest to the accuracy of the content. Fun to use and interesting. If it had better zoom features (pinch/expand) and you could stop it part way through a 3D rotate it would be 5 stars.

Great app for studying muscles. I am using this app in my studies to take the ACE Personal Trainer certification, and I am finding it to be invaluable as an accompaniment to the exercise science manual anatomy section. The Actions and 3D features are great tools for learning about muscle attachment and function. The artwork is fabulous. And, the quizzes test your knowledge. This is a great app and I heartily recommend it!

Best App for Muscles and Bones!. This is the very best app for learning about muscles and bones. This has been really well thought through by an anatomy instructor with great graphics (many rotatable 3D), instructional videos, great look up feature, quizzes . You won't be disappointed. This is really a great app.

Almost perfect!. I agree with a lot of the other reviews, this is a pretty cool app and has the potential to be amazing, it just needs to have ALL muscles included and ALL actions of each muscle shown, it is very helpful when learning kinesiology of the muscles. Almost there, keep upgrading it please!! Not only is it great for studying for anatomy but will be a great resource to show clients where their problems are!

Wonderful!. This is a great app for just a regular person. I fell and hurt my leg and wanted to do some research about the bones, tendons and muscles. After buying a couple others that were not user friendly I finally found this one and for a reasonable price. Very informative and easy to use!

Great app. Holy cow, the graphics on this app! I bought this app because I spend a lot of time at the gym, and figured this would be a good way to see how muscles & bones are interconnected. This app definitely does not disappoint, and since it's now on my iPad I don't have to thumb through books or look up info online, it's always right there. Highly recommend!

Clear and Easy Learning. Fabulous way to identify movement of bones, muscles, etc. Really helped me get through body work anatomy. Very clear identification of specific anatomy and how these parts work together. Only improvement would be a zoom feature.

hopeful. I rarely write a review, but felt that it was necessary. Upon taking the quiz - it was not challenging at all. ex: the leg muscle quiz - there is only one possible answer. All other answers are other parts of the body. any person can see that. just getting started with this app. But, for the $ i had to stop and say something. please update

Great app. I'm taking anatomy and physiology 1 and it's a great app to help you learn the muscles for lab. And the quizzes are great and very helpful. It's also a good tool for a&p 2 per my teacher since it has the action and innervation of each muscle too! Highly recommend. Wish there was a way to customize the quizzes to pick and choose what muscles I want in the quiz, but overall a good app.

Great APP!!!. This is the best app I have for anatomy. There may be others with more information at three to five times the price. If you want an app to help you brush up or learn basic anatomy then this is a great one. I really like the lay out , pictures, video clips.

Best anatomy app out there!. I'm a PTA student and this has more than helped me in my studies of physical therapy. This app is very easy to use, maneuver around, and gain tons of knowledge from. It has many features that let you see every aspect of the body and there functions. There is only one feature I wish it had and that is a voice assistant to help learn how to pronounce the words!

Not bad. I bought this app because I read it includes nerve supplies, It would be nice to track the nerves or the blood vessels as well... But for the price, I understand you can't expect too much. I am a Licensed Physical Therapist and this app is very helpful for providing basic information to my patients, I wish the developers would add the Nerve and Blood supplies in the future. I wouldn't mind paying for it.

Great for learning anatomy. I love this app for studying for my anatomy lab. The 3D graphics ally help me to understand and visualize how the muscles interact with the bones. The quizzes are pretty good study tools, too. I wish that you could manipulate images of the individual muscles like you can the 3D models, but other than that it's great!

Missing a lot. This app works great, and really presents the material it has well.. There are a ton of things missing, however. A lot of the bone structures are really basic, or missing entirely(doesn't even mention ethmoid bone of skull at all for one). If you are looking for something to study with, stick to textbooks and other diagrams. If you just want to get a basic idea of gross skeletal and muscular anatomy, it's pretty functional and will give you a basic idea.

Fantastic app!!!. I work in a Clinic and use this app for research, for reference, and to show clients specific areas about which they have questions. It's an invaluable tool and so much 'bang' for the price. Graphics are astonishing, 3-D is incredible. Can't say enough about how glad I am that I purchased it. Phenomenal app for the iPad (I have the iPad 2).

Pretty good app. I'm taking biology 2401 and this app is definitely helping me to view anatomy from another perspective. The pictures aren't color-coded clear the way they are in your book. But that is what helps you to pick out the fine detail and landmarks that makes each part of the body unique. I believe this app is well worth the asking price...if any.

Very useful. As a personal trainer I find this app very useful. I use it to study and to help my clients understand exercises better. Whenever one of my clients has an ache or pain I open this app and have them point out where they feel it the most. From there it is much easier to come up with corrective exercises to help them out. Would highly recommend to anyone who uses kinesiology in their profession.

Life save app. This app is a great tool for giving you the edge in an Anatomy and Physiology class - the multiple views, easy to understand explanations and quizzes make the difficult material come alive. The only down-side is that the audio doesn't work. I even refer to it in class to help illuminate what the professor is talking about, while taking notes.

Wish it had more. I'm a first year med student learning anatomy and this has been a great tool for visualizing muscles when not in the lab. I just wish that there were more structures, muscles, nerves (included in diagrams), etc. Really a good tool especially considering the price of text books and notecards. Would also be nice to be able to rotate in other directions. Thanks!

For 8$? Bargain of the year!. I'm going back to school and I need anatomy. I've downloaded freebies before, and have gone to websites, but the breadth of this offering is amazing. The 8$ was for the bundle. Worth every penny. Makes me believe apps will be the future of education. 3D display, videos, quizzes, there are just so many ways to reinforce what you are learning.
