Great app for group traveling and keeping track of spending!. I love this app, I was a little confused at first how to work it but I'm sure if I had read instructions I wouldn't have had a problem. I'm using it bc I'm going on a trip to Spain with my family and husband. Since I'm planning it I can keep track of the purchases I have made for travel, hotels and food and who has payed for what. Love it, and very good program design!

Okay...needs easier help feature. I bought this app to split a trip my sister and her family, my father, and I are going on. We have not yet left, but I was eager to get the upfront expenses in (lodging, b'day gift, etc) and the app does not have an easily found help feature...and no tutorials. You just figure it out as you go (very annoying!!!). Some suggestions for future updates to warrant the $1.99 price: •more friendly UI •ability to add pics of receipts/attach or link emails to expenses in app •ability to divide expenses unevenly using percentages rather than figuring out the math and typing in exact portion •ability to add pics of people splitting •ability to modify the name it assigns you •a locking feature (so you can't accidentally change what you've entered) •create a main menu and add a tutorial or help feature to this page It gets 3 stars b/c there is plenty of room for improvement! I will upgrade my rating when these features are added or a refund of at least a dollar. Not entirely worth $1.99 at current version buy could be worth this price with above upgrades!

Trip Splitter - Awesome !. This thing is ssssweeeeet. You can keep up with your own expenses when you're travelling or use it to remember who paid for what in a group. If you want to split it up, just push a button and it does the work for you. Since I use my I-phone all day long, its easy to enter the big items, and say good bye to messing with receipts.

Best Travel App I Own. Tripsplitter has revolutionized the way I travel. It makes it so easy to split bills, see who should be paying for things to even up, and keep everything straight. We use it on everything - weekend trips, months of travel or just general living expenses. You can email the results and track your total expenses by category. I takes all of the pain out of laborious spreadsheets and reciept saving. It is, hands down, one of my most used apps and the one I recommend to all new iPhone users.

Great Utility. Trip Splitter is a GREAT program. My family (real and extended) go on large trips every two years. The core family is 8 (wives and husbands) but we adopt anyone that wants to come with us, normally 15+ splitters. We take turns paying. I am an application development manager. I understand programming and testing. Before finding this gem, I created a spreadsheet that met our families needs. It worked but it was cumbersome and took programming if our splitters changed. I have thoroughly tested 'Trip Splitter' and found the functionality and results it provides to be very accurate. I did see a penny here and there that looked odd but, I expect that. The program is rounding odd amounts by an odd number of splitters. Rounding is necessary. Trip Splitter determines who owes what to whom. The names and splits may look odd at times, but in each test that I ran, the result was accurate. Technical support is stellar. I asked a question of the vendor and I received a satisfactory response in my email well inside of 24 hours. The development team also had the foresight to add logs to the email which can help any user understand how the algorithm arrived at the result. There are additional features that I have not evaluated but I expect them to work as expected. CON: The only thing that I would like for the developer to consider is adding more icons for the expense categories. There are 8 but I was a little confused with a movie camera being entertainment. Options might be Golf, Gambling trip, RV family vacation. (just to create some thoughts) BOTTOM LINE: I will use this program as will anyone in my family that hosts any of our trips

Welcomed update. Have used this app on an extended trip with a friend. It was so convenient for figuring out expenses. Particularly helpful was the fact that we didn't have to stress over who was paying for this or that or how to pay. We knew that we could enter in the expense and the app would sort out the sharing of expenses. Very convenient! I also use it for keeping track of daily expenses when I am out and about around home. Pleased to see that the app has been updated! Having more than six participants sharing expenses would be rare for me, but one never knows. Thanks for keeping the app current.

Perfect for couples who split travel expenses. I cannot tell enough how much I love this APP, it's has been a life saver for me. Particularly, when you travel with somebody and want to split your expenses. At first it might appear counter intuitive but very quickly you will realize how good it is. You can even note down your personal expenses and see at the end how much each of you spent. I would be ready to pay much more for this APP APPS developer, please keep the good work!

Go to travel app. I use tripsplitter on every trip with other people. It works great and everyone appreciates me keeping track of all the expenses.

Great App!!!. I love this app! It is easy to input expenses during a trip with plenty of detailed information. The app clearly tracks expenses by day, by category (gas, lodging, food, etc) and by traveler so that it is easy to settle/even up at the end of the trip. The app also creates simple reports to email from within the app to all travelers included in the trip expenses. Thank you for creating and maintaining this app.

Great user interface. Quick and easy to use. Makes the craziness of group travel a bit easier. I've only used with a small group splitting cost among 3 families so I don't know how it would be with several more parties splitting the cost but we LOVED it!

Great App for travel with friends. I used this app during a trip with friends. It was terrific. A few suggestions for improvement would be 1) to allow more than one person to share and input all information in app and 2) include a calculator feature when dividing the splits. I will use this app often and will recommend this app to my clients who travel in groups.

Love this app. I really love this app and have been using the paid version frequently for more than 2 years. I use it for trips and daily expenses with a group of friends. Now we no longer have to pay small amounts for food, tickets, gas share, etc. each time or do calculation for the complicated transactions. I just keep track of our expenses in the app and do one click for the sum up when we feel like clearing the records. The person-to-person payments are simplified and the charts look great and are easy to understand. The app is truly one of my favorite app purchases!

Great app. Really useful and easy to use. Highly recommended. Only request would be a "split with all" button so I don't have to click on all 10 people every time there's a full group expense.

My friends think I am an accountant. I travel a lot with a group of people usually. I have used this app each time I travel and it works perfectly! This last time I sent out the final spread sheet to my friends and they were so impressed! Love that I now can also put different currency and it automatically convert back to US dollars base on the exchange rate I plug in.

Review. This app is not free so it should work. It does not selecting a currency is not possible. It also is more than difficult to enter from an iPhone. Like most apps it’s difficult to tell what you are buying. I’ve used other expense splitting apps. I’d stay away from this one. —- oh yea. I am an auditor so know what is good and bad. This is bad

Held up like a champ across three continents and five different currencies over 3 weeks. I spent 3 weeks traveling with two other friends in Central / South America and Antarctica and Trip Splitter held up like a champ across three continents and five different currencies. It became sort of a game with us, to see how low we could keep the owed totals. This challenge was increased because one of us lost his wallet the second day and had to manage all of his expenses with a spare credit card. In the end, after almost 100 transactions equaling nearly $5000, we finished with one person owing $0.70 to one of us and $32 to the other. Thanks for providing an app that can facilitate shared travel expenses and remove all the stupid emotional crap out of the money spent.

This was a great app. It won’t let me make any new trips and so it’s useless. Shame because it was so handy.

Must have for group travel. I’ve been using this app for more than 10 years now, and it is a must have for travel with friends and family. It makes it easy to track/split out costs, even with multiple currencies within one trip. The only downside is that it depends on one person, being the keeper of the expenses, rather than sharing a trip with all the travelers to update as you go.

Good for trips and everyday life too. This is a great app to split expenses when we travel with friends. Takes a little to get the hang of it, but so many improvements have been added since I first started using it. But it's not just for traveling and splitting, I also use it to keep up with my cash transactions when I am out and about at home. Otherwise the $ is in the wallet and then gone without me remembering where it went. Great app!

Great idea if it works!. I used it several times but it crashed and lost all my data on a subsequent trip. Could you possible add a back-up feature to avoid this? Now having problems with iOS 13.1.2. Program does not work properly.

Love this!. I don't travel with a group very often, but when I do I rely on this little app to make the accounting easy. Some people are pretty casual - "oh, just split it". Others want to split based on their cost to the penny. This satisfies everyone, and sends a great end-of-trip email to the participants so they can see the details. Since I don't use it very often, I do have to rely on the tutorial from time to time to make sure I enter everything properly. Garbage in, garbage out. I also like the newer feature that uses your location to suggest, for example, the specific restaurant you are eating in. And it accesses your contact list to provide everyone's email address. A well done little app!

Great App - Wish It Was More Robust. Overall great app and I’ve used it for years amongst friends. The currency setup/conversion is a bit confusing and I wish there were some UX enhancements and that this was cloud based and could be shared across multiple users. Have used this app for groups as small as 2 to 15 people. It definitely is a bit harder to use with larger groups but still works fine.

So useful. Had an old trip where I wrote down on note pad who paid and who split. There were a lot of items and I was dreading figuring out who owed what. I found this app and was able to enter all the items in like 5 minutes and it figured everything out for me!!! Can't wait to use on my next trip.

Loved the earlier version!. I used to use this app every time I traveled with a friend. I loved that it was simple, easy to use, and had an attractive design. I had updates the app, and just used it for the first time in months. The current version has gotten too business-y. I loved that you used to be able to turn the phone and get a quick split tally. It was perfect when we were out to dinner and needed a fast, easy look at who should pay. Now you have to get a report from the menu, and it looks more like a business spreadsheet than a running tally. I would love to get the old, simple version back!

Love the app…needs a calculator. I’ve used this app for years. It’s super simple and provides nice documentation. Wish the money part had a calculator so one needn’t exit to get to a calc. Write down the amount and type it in again.

A little ugly but it works well. App works really well, once you figure it out you can really get some good work done. The exported report is really helpful to e-mail to all the participants. Used mine after a trip to split expenses and I just wish I had bought it before the trip started for easier data entry!!

Excellent!. Used app on family vacation and business trip; extremely useful in both situations. Easy to keep track of who paid for what during vacation, making it very simple to settle equal payments at the end. Very helpful to track business expenses during business trip, makes creation of expense reports quick and easy. The .csv download is also helpful to manipulate data in Excel.

This was everything I needed and more. I downloaded this app after attempting to use another pay split app that I will not name. This app had everything that the other did not! It is intuitive and easy to customize. There are defaults selected for you but are easy to update. The reporting is beautiful and creates what I need in a single click. I am SO satisfied! I think the developers are on a great track here and any improvements would be a cherry on top! Some requests: -make the trip total more accessible -choose a static timestamp. I just returned to the east from my west coast trip and all of my times shifted by 3 hours...now some of my items appear on the wrong day!! -maybe add the opportunity for a budget? We wanted our trip to fall under a certain total...it would have been great to see where we were stairs that number automatically! Or even totals for the different categories. Like I said, this app exceeded my expectations and helped me tremendously. It is absolutely worth more than it's $1.99 value in the app store.

TripSplitter. I highly recommend this app. I recently used it for a group of 6 friends on a trip to Hawaii. And I'm going to use it for family Christmas at my parents house. It is intuitive and simple, and the email export option is so clutch. The only thing I would ask for is the ability to have more than 6 people on a trip. I would def use that. Otherwise, it's amazing and I'm having all my friends buy it!

Extremely useful app. The best thing about the iphone is how it makes my life easier, and Tripsplitter is definitely another app that helps with that. I used to just use iphone notes to write down i.o.u's whenever I went on trips with friends, but that is a thing of the past with Tripsplitter. I just punch in who paid for what and who split the expense and at the end of the trip everything is calculated for each person on the trip, no math required (: Highly recommended, it is quickly becoming one of my favourite utility apps.

THE BEST!!. This app is very easy to use. It lets you enter your expenses and the expenses that you are sharing with others. Also, It is easy to see who owes who. After many tries with other apps, this is by far the best. We definitely love it!

Amazing App. Love this app! Made it so easy to track who was paying for things and who owed money to someone else in the group. Particularly love the ability to split items between just 2 or 3 people in the group. So when just 2 people out of 3 bought and drank the wine we could make it so just those 2 people paid for it. Definitely worth the $2 price tag.

Impressive!!!. Best way to manage splitting expenses during your trip. 5 Star. The reports are very detailed and well presented. Suggestions: should consider the options of languages for each trip. Define currency exchange rates in batches or for the whole trip.

The best app for travel expenses!. I've been using Trip Splitter for several European journeys, with just two of us as well as multiple friends. Every time, it's saved our collective bacon (and friendships!) by accurately dealing with multiple currencies and different splits for expenses. It really works best when you record expenses immediately after incurring them, and photographing receipts pays off, too (no need to leave the app for this). On our last trip to the UK, we used it to keep the individual contributions fairly even, so no one ended up owing a huge amount to the others. That really helped. The app takes a little effort to master, but once you do, it's a lifesaver!!

Great app when traveling. Five of us were traveling together. Started using a spreadsheet and decided to look for an app and glad I found this one. We were able to keep track of whom spent what. Tracked expenses by categories, days, areas. Made our trip expense tracking seamless. Can't think of anything it's missing.

Truly one of the best apps ever!!!. I just came back from a 9-day trip to Paris with 5 friends (2 couples and 2 singles). The Trip Splitter app was the PERFECT way to keep track of everything we spent in UDS and Euros. I can’t put a value on how much time, effort, and stress the app saved us!!! THANK YOU!!!

Good app, one major flaw. The app itself is great and the interface is user friendly. The one major problem is that when you click to see the breakdown and total amounts between parties the app warns you with something along the lines of "warning the total amounts owed may be off." If you don't have every person splitting everything equally at all times then this app is useless. As the app automatically adjusts the dues. Ex. If person A owes B for lunch, but C already ate. The app will take what A owes B and split the amount due with C. Which made my app useless for backpacking with 4 other people unless you break everything down yourself and then start a "trip" with each person individually.

Excellent app. Very easy to use. Has made my trip accounting so much easier and streamlined and quick. Only thing I would maybe one day add is option to put in different currencies with a exchange rate the user can enter. That makes entering in foreign countries much easier rather having to convert each transaction or converting at end.

Life saver app for group travel. Myself and 3 travel companions used this app for a European tour and this app saved the day. We could note different currency. Not all expenses were evenly split between all users, the app allows for this easily. And at the end of our trip the email option with details was perfect and is downloadable in different formats including Csv. Wow, I am using this app from now on! Amazing!

I really, really want to give five stars.... ...but I can't. Yet. I am BEGGING (yes, begging. I am not beneath it!) for there to be a way for me to be able to have one high and mighty payee and as the other members pay, the ones who haven't don't owe all that have paid off, just the high and mighty. Example: my family is taking a cruise. My dad is initially paying for everything but the rest of us will owe him eventually. If I pay off my part, I don't want the app to list that, say, my brother now owes both my father and I. Make sense? Though it's being split by all of us, no one else needs to be paying me. the app already does this and I'm just stupid, feel free to call me out, but I just can't figure out a way! Otherwise this app is brilliant. Pretty please can the above mentioned situation become a reality???

Great app. We tried several apps, and this one served our needs perfectly on a road trip around the UK. It was very easy to use for sharing expenses. Then, the ability to email those detailed expenses as the trip progressed kept everyone in the loop on a regular basis. Additional items I would like to see: 1. Ability to select icons to be used for each new trip setup 2. Change the “Gas pump” icon to a car so it can be used for anything related to Automotive - Gas, Rental car, Car park fees, Road/bridge tolls etc. 3. Icon for Entrance/Admission tickets or fees

Trip splitter review. This app has a lot of useful features and met nearly all of our needs in splitting trips. Some areas where it could be improved: - it would be helpful if you could use the app to do currency conversions, and use multiple currencies in one trip. - the app seems to have a bug where sometimes it won't open. It comes up for a few seconds and then closes itself. The only thing that seems to fix it is restarting my phone, which can be a little frustrating if you're trying to use it on the go!

Problème lorsque 3e personne /Problem with a 3rd person. Fonctionne très bien lorsque 2 personnes impliquées dans les factures. Après vérifications faites, je me suis rendue compte qu’il ne calculait pas de façon adéquate, plusieurs erreurs de calculs trouvées. J’ai vérifié 2 fois les sommes dues. Pratiquement 20$ de différence entre le calcul à la bonne vieille mitaine et celui fait par le logiciel. Je ne recommande pas la version payante puisqu’il s’agit de l’avantage qu’est d’ajouter plus de personnes. Works really well with two persons involved with the receipts. After some verifications, I found out some mistakes made by the software. Verified it twice. I found almost 20$ of gap between the reality done by hand and what the software says. I don’t recommend the payable version because it’s supposed to be the benefit of buying the software.

Really a great app!!. Easy to use! Finally a way to end the IOU and YOM discussions!!! I emailed customer support for help because I didn't understand the way the app evens up a split. They awnsered in no time!! Great customer service, great app!! Thank you very much!!!

The best app to split expenses with your buddies. We just went to a sailing trip with a lot of various expenses and settling up was a charm. Easy to use, reliable and very detailed.

Best App There Is. The most useful app I have ever used. Very easy, and incredibly helpful while travelling in a group. Without a doubt, this app increased the enjoyment of the trip as a whole. I couldn't recommend this any more when travelling and sharing expenses.

Total must-have app!. Love this app. It makes splitting things so much easier. A 3 person, 4 currency trip was pretty daunting to figure out but this app made it a lot easier! Would highly recommend. I have used it for quite a few trips now.

Very useful app. I use this all the time with the friends I travel with. We all love it. There are other apps out there, but 1. they’re geared to ongoing expenses for roommates 2. they need an internet connection to work which is awkward when you’re traveling. I’m the designated expense tracker and I pop everything in and we get a nice summary email of who owes who at the end. I’d love it if the developer had a calculator function embedded. Sometimes I have to duck out of the app to figure out something. Someone rated this poorly saying it wasn’t accurate for groups larger than two. I’ve checked for a group of five and found it to be bang on.

Great travelling aid. Makes group travel easy to track. Each member kept track or else we assigned a "bookkeeper". Either way worked well. The report feature is detailed and easy to understand. It has saved a lot of calculating and debating.

Great tool for traveling. I’ve been using this app for several years for short weekend trips, but just returned from a 3 week marathon with another couple, in 2 counties and 2 currencies. Worked like a dream. Found the uneven split very helpful when we were joined by the other couple’s kids for a week. I’d recommend this to anyone.

Works great!. Just had a trip where multiple people bought things for the group, and sometimes only a portion of the group. It would have been a nightmare splitting the costs up without this app. The best part is how it condenses into the fewest possible payments between everyone.

This is such a great tool!. I am going on a trip soon with 3 friends and I was looking to buy a spreadsheet application to manage our travel expenses. Reconcialing expenses is always a nighmare when traveling, specially with meals when everyone consume for different amounts. I found this application by accident and I decided to try it because it was a lot cheaper than good spreadsheet apps. When I tried it I realized that it does everything I need and it's so easy to un-evenly split various expenses. It's going to make it fun and easy to manage the financial side of our trip, and the e-mail report is amazing

So amazing!. This app makes it so easy to keep track of expenses on trips. I love everything about it and it takes the stress out of the money part of a trip. The only thing that could make it better would be if two people could have the same info on multiple phones without having to input it twice. I understand that this could be more complicated which might be why it hasn’t been done.

Great idea... Very handy. I hate doing math on road trips, as I'm bad at it and usually hungover. This simplifies the whole thing.

SO DISAPPOINTED-Great App when working. The app is now totally useless! Doing by if until the bug are fixed in 4.0.1. I've been using this app for some time on my iPhone. Be sure to watch the video to learn how to use it. it's a great app when it works. I'm really frustrated with the new pop up window when trying to create a new trip, asking if I want to give access to my contacts. I already set it up NOT to access them. The pop up window comes on the iPhone screen with the keyboard, which overlaps the pop up. There is NO WAY to get rid of the keyboard. So, now I can not click on the pop up. The app is now totally useless! And there's no way I could find to file a bug report.

Fantastic. Little tricky to learn to use it. Does everything I need. Works great to keep track if expenses.

Useful for tracking personal budget too. It definitely helps me to keep track, I also use it myself on solo trips if I have money coming out of different "envelopes". I can apply my budget to my expenses.

Final numbers are not right. I've used this several times and I must say its a great tool. But sometimes the numbers are not even correctly so I can't reply on this 100%.

Great App - made tracking expenses easy. Overall this is a great app that made traveling across countries with different currencies really easy. Would be great if it automatically retrieved currency conversion rates. Another enhancement would allow allow multiple users to add expenses to a shared trip.

Great App. My friends make fun of me for using it all the time - but in the end everybody loves this app. Takes all of the confusion out of splitting things on a trip so all that's left is having a blast with your friends!

Good. I love everything about this app except the fact that you can't edit the members at all after you begin a trip.

Completely useless. Bought this app with roommates to split incidental bills and have not used it once. You shouldn't need multiple 8-page instruction sequences to figure out how to use an app solely designed to do basic math.

Does what it's supposed to do. In Spain with 5 friends. Absolute breeze to use. Everyone glad that I have this app with me. Thx for easy to use and useful app.

Great for travel. Works great. I can't imagine traveling without it. Can sometimes take a few minutes to figure out how to enter a complicated transaction, but generally simple to use.

Great and easy app!. I needed something to split up cost for a baby shower. Some hostesses paid and some did not. This app helped me out without having to do the math myself! Just plug them in and it tells you exactly who owes who!

Very useful!. This app is great. My partner and I just took a 3 city vacation. We used his credit card to pay for everything so we could earn points. But we wanted to split the cost evenly. This app worked perfectly for keeping track of our trip expenses and how much I owed him. It keeps it simple. Love it.

It is great. Been traveling for a while with two couples and this totally takes the hassle out of dividing up expenses. Great interface that is very user friendly.

Great for group trips. Used it for a running group trip. It made it easy for folks to "volunteer" to pay for things and at the end we had an email with what we owed. Decided never to do another trip with a group without Trip Splitter!!

A must have for any trip. Came through in the clutch for a bachelor party in cancun. The final split email at the end was so detailed. Love it!

Handy app with an efficiency flaw.. The app works seamlessly. However there seems to be no way to sync your trips between devices. So if you happen not to have your iPhone but have your iPad, you're out of luck if your trip was created iPad. How about working on a syncing option?

Essential app for trekkers. Me and three other friends are traveling through Asia, and we love this app. It has all the different features that I want/need. One of the really handy things is the built in currency converter. This app is worth the $2 it costs.

Awesome!!. This is a brilliant app. For years I've been doing this in excel thru formulas and such. This does EXACTLY what I needed it to do. Great application. Well worth the $2 if you are debating.
