Waymo Comments & Reviews 2026
Almost ready to delete Uber/Lyft apps. LOVE Waymo! ❤️I remember the first time I’ve tried Waymo ride, it was incredible! Since then I refuse to take other ride sharing options: their dirty and smelly cars and awkward conversation or silence. Waiting for a larger service area to be available in LA and to LAX airport and definitely will delete Uber/Lyft apps. Also, would be cool if Waymo collaborate with American Express for monthly credit, similar to what Uber has now with their $10 monthly credit for Amex Gold credit card holders! Would be fantastic! 🎉
Dangerous ride. My eight year old niece and I wanted to take a ride just up to the nearest store and back. It took us to the store, but instead of coming back the same way, it took us a few miles in the opposite direction and then once it got on the main street coming back the right direction, it’s stopped in the middle of a 40 mile an hour street. The vehicle behind us almost hit us. Then the car proceeded to go 10 miles an hour for 6 blocks until it reached a red light. We did not know if it was going to stop at the red light because it was obviously malfunctioning. We called customer support while this was happening and they said all they could do is file the report of the complaint. It was absolutely scary not knowing what could possibly happen. This is not a perfect technology. I will never ride with this company again.
most premium taxi experience. this is so chill, you can just be yourself in the car. I don't think I need to say much more. Also, it drives better than most people and I actually know it won't start speeding randomly which is a big plus. i've put my life in waymos hands multiple times already and I still have not perished. I'm assuming it's safe.
Really loved it. Witnessed a next big step in automobile revolution “Driverless Car”. I really enjoyed my trip. There are some issues to be addressed, as mentioned in other comments. But I certainly believe the team will correct all those issues in the coming days. I see this as a next big step in automobile revolution and happy to be witnessed in my life. Let just say, the future is here.
Immaculate Ride! 🎉🎊🍾❤️. Love Waymo! Definitely way better than Lyft and Uber! At first, I was hesitant about using the service because I was concerned about the fact there was no human being in the vehicle. I’ve used Waymo about 4or 5 times and love it. You can play music. The seats are soft and comfortable leather you soak right in and it’s just so comfortable and feels like you’re riding on a cloud! Amazing experience! And for those who don’t tip or like to tip Lyft and Uber drivers, this would be great for you!
My Waymo ride. I rode in Waymo 4 times today! it was on time, so easy to get into!Smooth ride i felt safe ! i rode in the front twice and twice in the back! One time it was raining & I really felt safe! One of the rides a motorcycle came close to pulling into the side of us and our car spotted him and the guy stopped our car breaked! i absolutely love the ride &!will continue to ride in it everywhere !!!
Terrible customer service after “unexpected issue” during ride. Our car pulled over to stop, we unbuckled our seatbelts and started to exit. The car said it experienced and unexpected issue and started driving across town to a support person. We weren’t able to choose to pull over or end the ride until we were over four blocks uphill from our original destination. My mother can’t handle the steep downhill walks, and we had to call a cab from another company to take us. When we reached out to Waymo, I was hoping for an acknowledgment of the issue and at least a partial credit considering the extra cost we incurred and error on their end. I was not asking for a refund. The support agent seemed to be a bot, and just kept repeating that sometimes the car can’t find a safe place to pull over and needs to find a place to do so. The car ~was pulled over~, and had plenty of other places to do so, when it started moving again due to an “unexpected error”, but was not going to. It took us half a mile uphill away from our drop off. There was not an option to press pull over or end the ride for blocks. These rides are already not cheap. Take responsibility when issues happen instead of giving people the run around. As it appears Waymo isn’t interested in attempting to correct issues when they occur, this experience has left me deleting the Waymo app and will absolutely be telling visitors to choose other ride options.
Okay. It’s okay. I wish I could give this 5 stars cause I love the idea of this, but its new and still needs refined. Some things that I’ve noticed needs work: There clearly isn’t enough cars yet, I was excited that this could be a cheaper option than lyft or uber yet, it’s almost always double the price. Wait times are inaccurate, I’ve been quoted wait times then be reconnected to a new car when the car was only a few minutes away cause my wait time to be doubled that originally requested, it’s hard to plan what time to leave when the wait times are inaccurate, then when you go to cancel you’ll get charged a 5$ fee?! I’m overall still excited and hope it improves over time but these two things are making the rides usability and convenience very hard.
AWESOME FIRST RIDE!. Today, I took my first ride with Waymo. I must admit, I was a little skeptical. However, the ride was so awesome and cool. The only issue was that my pick up was at a dead end so it took the car about 30 to 45 seconds to realize it needed to back up and turn around, other than that it was great and I can’t wait to ride again! Autonomous riding, and driving is the future!!
Joyous ride. I was very empress with the service. I requested a ride and within minutes, I received notification that my Waymo ride was waiting for me. I look at my app and followed the directions and saw that if I didn’t respond within 5 minutes, my ride will leave. So I press the walking prompt and I found my ride. I continued to read the prompt and I got inside of the car, then off I went. I got in and the car was nicely cleaned and the air conditioning was at a nice temperature. I fasten my seat belt and sat back and enjoyed the ride while smooth music was playing very lightly. I had a very joyous experience and I truly enjoyed my ride. If you’re one of those folks that want a peaceful ride , this would be great for you. Doris T
Terrible customer service. Attempted to take a ride with my son, only to be notified that children under 8 must have booster seats. This is a reasonable policy, so we exited the vehicle a block later and found alternative transportation. What is not reasonable is the fact that we were still charged for this “ride”. The policy on children is hidden in a “how many people can ride?” section in the FAQ, and is not immediately obvious especially to first-time riders. Buyer beware.
The future of transportation is now!. I’ve been a WayMo One customer for quite a while now, and I really enjoyed the driverless experience. The car I had today was a hybrid car, hopefully more energy efficient than some others, it was quite luxurious (with leather seats), and as I age I look forward to staying independent longer with the opportunity of calling a car so quickly. Great job, and lots of fun to experience!
Critique. We took the Waymo from Scottsdale to the JW Marriott Desert Ridge. The app indicated we might have to walk from the drop off point. The drop off point was at the bottom of the circle for the JW main entrance. Once we got out the Waymo proceeded to go around the circle and through the main entrance for the hotel. Why didn’t it just drop us off in front of the hotel since it was going there anyway? Is there an override function as a passenger? Understandable if the car isn’t going down a particular road. Thank you
My first ride and I deleted Lyft app for Waymo. This is my first ride and I am heading to work. I do love quiet morning. I don’t like to talk at all. This is very smooth ride and very careful when it comes to stopping at the intersection. I am a introvert. This not give me social anxiety at all. I am not forced to talk to a driver. I did not panic since I am claustrophobic. I love the music when I first sat down. It is vibing the ambient music. I love how easy to open the door when I am getting in and out. I love how very clean and impeccable top notch clean the car. I am very meticulous when it comes to cleanliness. I say this with confidence with Waymo. I do love Jaguar cars. It is a plus Waymo drive smoothly than a humans. The haters will hate. I feel more secure and safe with Waymo than a taxi. I’ve been to accident in Taxi and my dad twice they are a reckless drivers out there. With Waymo I feel safe and almost I fall asleep it is very early morning commute to my work.
Pricing is severely over priced. 3 stars for now until they fix these issues. Most time price is more then double compared to Uber and Lyft. Especially when you have to walk to pick up or after your drop off. Will also add to your commute time so be mindful when you have to be somewhere on time. A ride from miracle mile area Los Angeles to 26th and wilshire Santa Monica like 7 miles is $40 plus dollars. Uber and Lyft usually averages $28-$30 most times a little less. When you have a ratings etc with Uber and Lyft you always get 5 star drivers and clean cars. I’ll continue to do that and also tip a real human to help them for less then what this Waymo app is charging.
Terrible experience. This ride was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a self driving vehicle. Cruise was much more accommodating RIP.. we were less than a block away from the first destination when we realize that we left some thing behind, so I added the destination as the first point and the Waymo abruptly stopped and said that we’ve arrived. We then called customer service and they advise us to drive a little further and then re-add the stop we ended up drifting further away, so we decided to head to the second destination. which was a block and a half from the correct point. In addition, the way almost stopped in the middle of the intersection with vehicles passing on our left side. This was not safe. It was very inconvenient to top it off. I was not given a credit for my time and was told that wayis grateful for our feedback as they are improving. We should not be charged for helping the technology improve. I would like my $23 back.
It works, at least in SF. The prices are often much higher than Lyft or Uber (and none of that money is going to a struggling human driver). But when they aren’t, everything works fine. With no aggressive driving or stupid mistakes, it actually feels safer than an average human driver—although I have no idea if it really is, of course. And all the automated stuff to unlock the ride, etc. all works smoothly. I did have problem finding a volume control to turn up the voice, but that was the only problem.
The app is wonky. Something is definitely wrong with the app. I had a ride where the payment didn’t go through and I went through the settings to resolve the payment by recharging my card and when I push recharge it just takes me right back to the beginning. Or the app will just freeze up and it’s like I’m not pushing it at all. I’ve reached out to them via email and they basically told me I need to reach out to my bank? Why when the app is clearly the problem. I’ve tried deleting the app reinstalling it signing out and in again idk what’s wrong.
So safe you forget it’s self-driven. The first time you get in a Waymo and click the “Start Ride” button, you feel a bit horrified. The car plays a little safety video and starts driving itself. But after about 30 seconds, all the fear goes away and you completely forget the fact that AI is driving you. And then you quickly lose yourself in the luxurious Jaguar car with music that you have full control over (and don’t need to feel self conscious with a driver listening to it!) As for the app, it’s well-designed and easy to use. The only problem is on some vehicles the music doesn’t connect to the car. It’d be great if they added AirPlay support to the cars, but I don’t see Google bending over backwards to add Apple technologies to their vehicles.
I've been to the future. I just rode in my first Waymo One car. I can it rave enough about it! It felt extremely safe. Safer than 99% of any Uber/Lyft rides and drivers. It was such a smooth experience from ordering the car, the car arriving to the correct pickup spot, the smooth introduction, ease of use of music while riding, the fun solo dance party while driving, and the drop off. I've never done a self driving car and this was an amazing experience! I would choose this over a human driver any day!
Wow!. The future is here so to speak. I used to be afraid to take Waymo. I would think dude what if it acts up and harms others. Have you not seen any ‘80s action movie? My coworker was like. “you deal with creepy drivers from time to time with Uber. And sometimes you don’t feel like talking. It’s also cheaper than Lyft certain times of the day.” So I was like okay fine. I now have used Waymo ten times! I can’t believe it! It’s amazing! Definitely recommend it.
The future is here. I was able to use and fully understand the app on the first try. Of course, I have Uber and Lyft experience. There were 4 of us in the car and we took 3 rides. The app was seamlessly integrated with both screens in the car. Seatbelts policy is clear after the first ride. The whole experience was exceptional, but it was also the Christmas Day, so light traffic and few pedestrians/bikers. It’d be good to figure out the trunk next time.
Great service.. All the benefits of taking an Uber without human interaction. That may not be for everybody, but it suits me fine. The prices are comparable to other ride share services, if not a little cheaper. The only issue can be wait times, on occasion they’ve been 15 minutes or more. However Waymo is usually able to find a car closer to you in that window. The cars are luxurious, you can choose from preselected radio stations or play your own music. In my time using Waymo I have never had a bad experience with the driving. The cars drive flawlessly and efficiently. My girlfriend feels safe taking a Waymo home when she’s out late with friends. It’s private, affordable, comfortable, and plain cool to see. I can’t recommend this service enough.
Perfect for tourists wanting to get around!. Even though we brought our own car to San Francisco, we parked it in a secure garage, and took Waymo around town. It has been so fun! All drivers in the car got a chance to sightsee while the car took us where we needed to go. I thought the prices were comparable or even a bit better than other driving services like a taxi or Uber. I recommend this service 1000%!
I love Waymo for my work commute!. I share my car with my husband, and Waymo has been such a great option for me to take a car to and from work, especially during the hot Arizona summers. I also love that they are electric cars, so I feel good about my carbon footprint! I think it would be really cool if you could use Waymo as a qualifying expense for a flexible spending account, or they had some sort of employer benefit!
1st experience. Our family is in Scottsdale for a spring break excursion, when we witnessed these vehicles moving about and had zero clue as to what they were. Googled it, and found this to be the newest wave in getting places without driving- without ANYONE actually driving. It was an adventure, experience, and something we will never forget. Our children loved it, we loved it, and it was all TOO EASY! We want to now take this again before our trip ends, and were wondering when each vehicle may have its own personalized name and a possible short conversation! EXCITING!! -Ry
My Maiden Voyage. It was a very fun and maiden voyage. The only hiccup was where we were picked up at. There was a disconnect between where I was at and where the car parked to pick me up at.. I couldn’t find my ride and lost my fare and had to order another ride-for practice and for saving face-as I was with a friend I was trying to impress. It does not quite locate me, like Uber does, but after being picked up-a second time-it was a very fun and interactive ride.
Waymo Is The Future!. I had the opportunity to take my first ride with Waymo this evening, and I must say, it was nothing short of amazing. The driverless technology left me genuinely impressed, and I found myself thinking, "I've seen the future, and it's Waymo." The entire experience was top-notch from the moment I stepped into the vehicle. Despite my initial hesitation about the lack of a driver, it quickly became a non-issue. The lack of a driver wasn't as strange as you might think. I found myself immersed in the journey, either checking the view out the window or engrossed in my phone. One standout aspect was the affordability of Waymo. In a time where tipping has become an expectation everywhere you go, it was refreshing not to worry about it post-ride. Tip fatigue is a real thing, and Waymo eliminates that concern. Kudos to Waymo for making the future of transportation so accessible and user-friendly! Driverless technology is definitely the future, and I’m looking forward to my next ride—affordable, convenient, and tip-free. Thanks, Waymo!
Very good experience. The entire experience from start to finish was enjoyable. The ride felt safe and secure from the moment we got into the vehicle. Two friends and I enjoyed a 15 minute drive where we observed the vehicle driving in traffic making a lane change that was completely safe andthe lane control or traffic lights. While I think this is the wave of the future, it really should be the wave of the present for safety and predictability. I give this five stars, and we are very proud to engage in this new form of transportation.
Waymo drive was smooth and safe.. I have waited a long time to ride in the Waymo. I remember when they had drivers driving them. Well, today was the day I got to do it. It was surreal as a 62 year old that’s seen a lot of changes in the car industry. It felt like a futuristic moment in time that I will be able to tell my grandkids about. My husband and I drove to the Ahwatukee Town Center and left our car just to have this experience. The ride was extremely smooth and then we realized the car was a Jaguar. No wonder. So that was a plus!! The Waymo was very courteous to other drivers and even made a few quick stops when other cars got in our way. At the end of the drive I told Waymo Thanks for the ride (he deserved a pat on the back too ). 😊 P.S. And of course, I loved the fact that I didn’t have to tip!
Waymo, I love you.. ⭐️ Safety - Not only does the ride itself feel safer, as a woman, I also know that no one is going to try to pick me up or copy down my address. ⭐️ Comfort - The drive is so much more comfortable than human drivers. So smooth! ⭐️ Privacy - I love that I can talk on the phone, meditate, do my makeup, or sing along to my music in complete solitude. ⭐️ Ease - The app is so easy to use. The count down when my ride comes is helpful. The little touches like your custom initials on the car are so fun. ⭐️ Smell - Waymo smells soooo good by comparison to my Lyft rides. No body odor. No cigarettes. No pot. And the cars are always clean! I feel so posh cruisin in my Waymo. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ JOY! - I look forward to my Waymo rides. They’re more fun than any transit I’ve used before. Thank you for creating such a miraculous, safe vehicle. Now let’s bring them to the rest of the world!
Definition of Perfection. Wait time was ON time considering heavy traffic peak hour time Waymo had to drive through to pick me up. The interior of Waymo is lovely and to AI voice command welcomes you with open arms. I like the edit trip feature that can be done whilst riding and Waymo sense motion of its surroundings appears on monitor screen for rider to view which is totally cool. The future of Waymo can only be aiming to the skies. I’ll be a frequent user most definitely 🙌
Doesn’t work. I am in the east valley of Arizona I have seen so many waymo vehicles in my area however the app doesn’t even prompt me to schedule a ride. My options are ride today & it shows the vehicle but only allows me to click on view our service area or to slide over to near you to tell me they will let me know when they are in the area… but it’s the area you cover so I’m Confused -12 stars if I could! Not convenient or conventional. UPDATE: Area is so minimal that it’s still not worth it. Now can use the app but the areas aren’t even relevant. Cool concept but only if your in said specific areas of Phoenix and Chandler.
it’s like they don’t actually want customers.. i used to use waymo for my daily commute in the phoenix area and enjoyed it. they like to arbitrarily deactivate the area surrounding my job from time to time, however…as in, i waymo to work and then suddenly my location is unavailable when it’s time to leave. 🤦🏾♂️ recently, there was construction along the route to work, so they deactivated the area, which is completely understandable. however, the construction ended a while ago and, despite more than one email (with canned responses), they outright refuse to reactivate the area. despite a log of trips showing my repeated travel to this area as well as the pin location showing as squarely within their service area, i get robo-responses about “adding new areas” and am ignored when i explain it’s not a new area. i’ve never seen a company work so diligently to make it impossible to purchase their services; perhaps they’re allergic to money, or have a kink for bad reviews and frustrated emails…idk. what i do know is they seem incapable of fulfilling a simple request or replying to an email in a way that makes sense. 0/10 do not recommend.
Watch out Uber and Lyft !!!!. Today was the first time I tried a Waymo ride. I was always leery of riding in a car without a driver, but I needed a ride just 3 miles from my home to work so I thought, why not? Give it a try. It was AWESOME !!!!! No weird, overly chatty driver like I’ve had dozens of times with ride-share!!! I’ve had some really bad ride-share drivers. It was even way cheaper fare than Uber/Lyft - no tip either. The app is super easy to use and Apple Pay. I would recommend to anyone who is curious about this type of ride. Go for it!!
Safe and slow. The car drove safely and a little bit slowly as would be expected. The car does not take the interstate at this time so rides take a little bit longer. The trip cost was comparable to Uber during the same time. The car was comfortable and clean, and I felt safe in the vehicle. The car was deferential to pedestrians, bicyclists and other traffic. my ride was in San Francisco and cost about $16 to go 4 miles in 16 minutes.
First time experience. Of course everyone’s very hasty about a driverless car. This was my first time in one with my betrothed. Very good at acknowledging firetrucks and ambulances as well as police sirens. Had a smooth ride and we even cracked a few cold ones on the way home. I really can’t complain when waymo’s first priority is safety whether it’s pedestrians or the people in the car. The technology used is very superior to the Tesla self driving system. Everyone loves to hate on this company but once you’re inside and actually have a safe drive home after a drunken night you end up feeling good about the company. I could play my own music in the car via Google Assistant and that was amazing. The only downside of riding Waymo is that it’s not ready for freeway use so we ended up having to go through the streets only. Overall 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I’ll continue to be a loyal customer.
Interesting. I was scared at first since I’ve heard so many bad things about this company but I’ve taken it twice now and it was a fine experience. The wait time can be a little bit annoying sometimes takes a little bit long but besides that it was cool I really wish this was in my area where I live though and not just downtown. I’m literally one exit away like so close from being inside of the area they travel because I’m on Northern and 35th Ave. I’m like darn man I could’ve used this instead of Uber Lyft
Attempt to drop in unsafe area!. My friend and I called a Waymo, was attempting to drop us directly in front of the entrance but child not find a "valid stopping spot" to let us out so it circles the block to an entire different location surrounded by homeless and sketch characters (down town LA is not always safe in certain locations). Waymo in-car representative could NOT take control of the vehicle remotely to get us out of that situation. I find this to be crazy when there is no driver present!! Was only offered a $5 credit promo and advised to call another Wayno to take us around the block to out actual drop off location which would have take another 10 minutes. Mind you people are beginning to circle the vehicle with cameras on top, looking into the windows and curious of the situation or possibility looking for a victim to Rob, who knows!!! After 10 minutes of sitting there waiting for the reps to get an actual resolution, never getting us to a supervisor to help with the situation... we just gave up and took the risk to exit the vehicle (scared and angry) and walk around to our destination carrying our valuables and personal belongings we had with us in backpacks. (A target for a theaf if desperate enough) I will never use this platform unless real resolutions to time sensitive situations are taken because this was an very scary situation they placed us in and was avoidable!! Terrible UNSAFE service/platform!!
Almost perfect app. I’m slightly apprehensive about sharing location details knowing Google’s less than perfect reputation on privacy. However, after taking a few rides, I’m impressed with how well designed and helpful the app is. I quickly got through the learning curve of taking my first self-driving taxi ride. Unfortunately, I have experienced a few hiccups. Firstly, the time the car would allow in between pick-ups using the multi-stop feature changed from three hours to 30 minutes. Since I didn’t receive any communication about the change via email or in the app, I thought the app wasn’t working right and it was a frustrating, inexplicable experience. Secondly, on my last trip the door unlock button didn’t appear when being picked up, so I couldn’t get in the car until I force quit the app and tried again. Another area the app could improve is the live activities feature. That could be developed more, because seeing live updates of the arrival time in the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen would be so helpful. The final thing I’ll add is that riding in the Waymo car itself is an amazing experience and I’m sure the app will catch up soon.
Waymo. I wanted to share my recent experience with Waymo's ride service. The journey was seamless and comfortable, and I was particularly impressed with the vehicle's smooth navigation and adherence to traffic rules. The car arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and the ride itself was both quiet and efficient. The interior of the vehicle was clean and well-maintained, providing a pleasant atmosphere for the duration of the trip. Additionally, the app's user interface was intuitive and made the booking process straightforward. One aspect that stood out was the advanced safety features of the autonomous system. Throughout the ride, I felt secure and confident in the vehicle's ability to handle various driving conditions. Overall, my experience with Waymo was exceptional, and I would highly recommend their service to anyone looking for a reliable and innovative transportation option.
Punctual & doesn’t expect a tip!. My second ride this time across the city to a destination to which I usually take the freeway. Waymo used city streets . It was stress free and punctual . I was easily able to select music . Upon arrival I departed the car and entered my destination . The Jaguar sat for the longest time in the street and when I went out to check the car speakers stated that the door was not Firmly closed and requested that I do so. There did not appear to be a similar request or alert on the Waymo app on my phone. I am looking forward to taking Waymo again .
A tourist ride around San Francisco. This was my first time using Waymo. I was interested in see some of the sights. I changed my trip route several time to stop at some place that popped into my mind. It was spontaneous and great fun. The driver was cautious and very observant of changes in the traffic. A ups driver jaywalking, a parked fedex truck all were taken tin stride. The driver changed lanes as needed and even in heavy traffic all went smoothly.
Exellent first ride. Took my first ride today and must say from downloading the app, getting setup, requesting a car and being picked up happened in about 10 minutes! The ride was great and I felt completely safe. Outside of that the cost of the ride was cheaper than both a taxi and Uber…without any need to gamble with attitude from another human. Will definitely take again when the option comes up!
We enjoyed the experience. This was our second ride while visiting phoenix for the Alliance Conference. Very interesting. Ride was smooth music was entertaining. We recorded and had a great ride. On our 1st ride it stated that you can sing and they won’t listen, but the song we were listening to said the word break and WAMO breaked! It does listen and that’s a great thing, it just wasn’t from us singing, only from the song. We enjoyed both rides and glad we had the experience to share with others. Thank you Waymo, it’s Waymo than we expected!!!
Safe and Affordable. I have used Waymo a handful of times and compared to other ride share services, this is now my go to. The cars are clean and comfortable. I feel safe when riding, they are very mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles. Even on their busiest nights, they are incredibly cheaper than any other ride share service. As a college student, safety and affordability are my two concerns always and they go above and beyond the mark!
Poor customer service and not ready to operate. I approached this service with enthusiasm due to my interest in autonomous ride share services. However, my recent experience, being left stranded in San Francisco at 3 am, was disappointing. Despite seeking clarification and support on the matter, the response provided referenced terms and conditions I had agreed to. While I acknowledge the challenges of a product in development, prioritizing customer satisfaction is crucial, particularly for a paid service. Unfortunately, this incident has led me to question the reliability of the service, and I will not be using it again - a shame for a repeated happy customer.
First time rider — won’t be my last. I really enjoyed my first ride with a Waymo car in San Francisco. It was a very relaxing and surreal experience. The car was clean — I had no idea I’d be riding in a Jaguar! It was awesome. It’s important that you pay attention because the car may have to pick you up a few feet away from your pick up location thanks to all of the cars illegally parked and getting in the way. Just be sure you keep your eyes peeled and use the app to locate the car. Nice ride and can’t wait to see this evolve and move to more cities!!
Awesome with some glitches. I love this technology and admire your tenacity for continually developing it to make it better. Today we were picked up near Jackson and Washington in San Francisco at about noon. There was an SF fire department truck at our pick up spot. The Waymo tried to pass it but then froze blocking traffic. It tried to back up and got stuck at right angles blocking both directions. Our trip canceled but we reordered the ride and were pickup a block away a few minutes later. Don’t get discouraged. This is the future and you are making it happen. I am confident that it will continue to improve by leaps and bounds. When I am in the car I feel 100 percent safe and well taken care of.
Great ride.. This was my first ride with Waymo & loved it. Quiet, smooth, no glitches. (It was helpful being with someone who had used Waymo before & knew how to find the car when it arrived at a public location — had to ‘follow the arrow’ and look around the corner as the vehicle won’t arrive exactly where you are if there are a lot of cars around. But now that I know that I should be good to go for many more trips!)

What an experience!. Well made app that is easy to use and the in car experience is great. Still strange not having a driver but you feel like you are part of a community when you pass the other Waymo cars and wave at each other 😅🫶
Night time ride to the hotel. Amazing experience! Very polite greeting, felt very safe and it was a smooth ride! Will take another ride anytime! Thank you from Australia!

5 minute trip became 35. We made a multistop trip to drop our friend off. First stop was fine but the routing decided to turn a 5 minute trip into 35. Wasted our time. Support offered a $10 off our next trip but no plans to use this again.
Unable To Use App. I’m from Canada and would have liked to try Waymo but I can’t input a postal code as the app asks for a zip code for credit card information.
Futuristic. Ever since riding Waymo, can’t switch back. It’s faster, relatively cheaper & a better experience then any ride hailing service.
wow factor. Exceeding all expectations including pickup, ride and drop off.
Bruh. It really drove on its own fr
Waymo. The app was easy to use. We are seniors and even we could book our own car! Thanks!
First rude. First time for the three of us.. very interesting. Smooth relaxing ride. Definitely worth using 🙏👍
The future is here. Took a ride in a Waymo car in Scottsdale Arizona. Faster availability than Uber, excellent Jaguar vehicle, and excellent service! I would highly recommend Waymo if you want to experience the future!
Don’t Bother Canadian Tourists. Would love to try one of these. Downloaded the app. Registering the Credit Card Requires Zip Code. Only numeric data. No alpha numeric for Postal Codes. A shame. Canadians ride in cars too… not just the square block tire cars you see in South Park.
Great!. Great experience! I hope next time it’ll be much more accessible to tourists without local credit cards or local number
Not designed for tourists. Only accepts US zip codes so tourists from any other location can’t use. Not so smart cars after all.
Cool experience. Felt safe from start to finish
A glorious experience!. My ride made me feel like a superstar. She picked me up and welcomed me with my initials blinking in the sunlight and drove smoothly - avoiding obstacles to get me safely to the office. Zen music played to calm my morning spirits. Definitively the tech experience that I expected of SF. - Jen, CEO of Finliti
Great ride system. Waymo is awesome, the riding experience is a 10/10. The app just has a few very minor glitches, hence the 4 stars. But worth it, as cheap as Uber (sometimes cheaper), same wait times as Uber, but without the human variability that comes with Uber drivers, plus you can choose the music, volume, temperature in the car. And I never felt unsafe, which I have sometimes with Uber drivers.
Mind blowing. Amazing experience ! Its impressive but felt super safe!!!! The computer is better than most human drivers
BEST RIDE. Definitely while visiting San Francisco we will always use Waymo❤️❤️❤️❤️
Easy to use. This app is clean and uncomplicated. Have had nothing but great experiences with Waymo. Will definitely keep using Waymo over Uber & Lyft if prices remain lower than them.
You can’t use without US credit card. Hey people from other countries travel to the USA everyday. My credit card is good at every store here and for Uber and Lyft. Why wouldn’t you allow other credit cards?! If you need a zip to match then anyone outside of the US can’t use your app.
Totally wow. Really good, efficient and safe!
Great experience!!. It was less expensive than 4 of us on the trolley going the same distance. We were amazed how well it worked!
Easy to use and fun to ride in. Loved our first Waymo from the Phoenix Biltmore to the airport. Normally leaving for home is no fun…but, this was fun 😅
The best ride app!. This app works perfectly! Will definitely be using this service when available.
The way(mo) of the future. Safe , clean , easy to use and cost equivalent to other ride companies. A must try. Should be in every major city
Drop of Spot kinda off. I’ve sat in a Waymo 3 times and I really enjoyed it except one time it drove us through and small street with a lot of homeless people. Anyways other than that it’s really clean and I was wondering if Bluetooth connection is possible for customized music from Spotify or something. Once the person leaves it can reset because some tourist may not have a strong data connection that can download the app unless they take a picture and download it at a wifi strong place. Also when Waymo dropped us off at our hotel it dropped us off on the other side when the drop off side by the hotel is open. Idk if there are regulations or anything but yea. I hope to come again next time and see more Waymos on the road.

The screen is so bright it literally gives me a headache & the pre fixed music selection is terrible. It would be cool if we can turn off the screen/ dim the screen. And make a larger pre fixed music selection. The current limited music selection is rather vulgar and nasty. I was *embarrassed*. (I know I can play my own as an option) Their music options still remain absolutely terrible and super embarrassing. The drop off locations can literally be blocks away from your location. This can be an issue. It’s an expensive and slow service ultimately.
10/10 for sure you’re right on. This is an amazing experience there is no guessing on when and where you would get your ride the time estimations are always correct, the cars are clean and the ride is smooth.
Anxious people listen up. 12 Am, single drunk lady in her 20s - this was the best ride home ever. I FELT SAFE. Music up, windows down, and a peaceful drive home with no pressure to tip. I just wish it expanded to the whole city, I currently cannot drive and have been using Uber almost daily. I always double check with Waymo if the area is serviced before looking at Uber. Please expand!
Great Experience. We are visiting from Oregon and heard about cars that drive them selves. We had to try it. So, I would give 10 out of 10 if I could. The caution the car showed it amazing and the options for music is great. Again What a Great Experience! Thank you
1st Time Rider. I was very impressed with my Waymo experience. Car was clean, temperature was just right, had a nice music selection to choose from, and car effortlessly and safely drive the 8 miles to my residence. I was impressed with the way the vehicle waited for pedestrians to clear the intersection and even made a right turn on red
Hard to use anything else. Great service, reliable app, control of music, OK pricing. Me and my partner have been taking this on dates ever since I got access. Sometimes surge pricing is more expensive than Lyft, Uber at a given time. Occasionally have had very long wait times (15+ min). These guys will be our go to for a good while until the competition catches up at least.
Amazing ride. This was my first ride. I only went a few miles, but I felt totally safe even safer than if someone had been driving the car. The car made no mistakes at all. It stopped at every light stopped before turning right on to oncoming traffic and it dropped me off in a safe area, I would definitely do this every day
First time… Won’t be the last. First time using this driverless service. The reservation process was quick, pick up was easy, the car was clean , cool, quiet and gave you the instructions you needed to sit back and relax. Cheaper than I thought also. Will use again!!
Incredible. Waymo is going to change the world. I was skeptical but wanted to try it… so took it to the airport when visiting Phoenix. The experience, ride, cheaper cost, and cleanliness of the car (Jaguar) was amazing. The vehicle was a better driver than any Uber or Lyft I’ve taken before. I hope Waymo expands because it was so impressive.
Support Chat not Accesible. I had a problem with Waymo and they were able to cancel my trip; however, I was still charged. I tried to stay in contact with the chat support but on the app it kept saying “chat not available” so there was no way for me to stay in contact with my support person once I left the app. This proved to be a problem because I could not keep track of the conversation without taking screenshots. Overall, I feel like it was not a good system for support contact.
Waymo: Saving Lives. This technology will save lives by making the roads safer for everyone. Waymo is the safest way to travel by car. Making our roads safer for everyone on the road is makes Waymo techno driverless cars a top priority for our entire planet. Thank you for saving countless lives through this breakthrough software.
Surprisingly Safe!. Have had five rides this week.. so far, so good. I like that the cars have my initials in lights when I approach. Has been very safe, though once the only safe pullover was down the block, so I called customer service (just press a button on touchscreen). Has been fun!
My driverless car experience. The car knew where to pull over to pick us up, although it overshot a bit. When we got in, the ride was smooth sailing. The car managed to navigate many situations that a human may have struggled in. It managed to weave in between a bus and a parked car on a narrow road cleanly.
New wave of Tech to open up new wave of work. I’ve used this app to take my first Waymo trip and it was very pleasant & accurate. The ride offers a wide variety of music or you can choose to use your own music via Google. I would recommend this app if you are really not feeling in the mood to drive, be a passenger for once.
Our first ride ever 🥰. We are visiting from Budapest, Hungary. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an extraordinary autonomous ride with WaymoOne. The vehicle was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, with plush seats and a pristine interior. The smooth navigation through traffic was seamless, showcasing the advanced technology behind this driverless car. In a world where transportation can often be mundane, this autonomous taxi ride was a refreshing exception. It was more than just a ride; it was a glimpse into the future of travel, filled with comfort and care. I highly recommend this service to anyone seeking a unique and memorable journey. Ps: I asked ChatGTP to create this review. I approve it 100%! Welcome to the future! Iren & Misi
I don’t drive and I’m only 57. As a regular patient at HonorHealth Osborn, I have found a reliable alternative to Uber. I walk in good weather - and 80 degrees is coming soon. Until then It’s a comfort to know I’m about five minutes away from a clean and comfortable car to get me home. It’s worth the 10 bucks.
App errors. So I downloaded the app so easy to sign up and get started and it asked me for card info before I even was ready for a ride during sign up but then kicks me out of app I even tried refreshing the app and deleting it and reinstalled it getting kicked out over and over it’s like the app is broken or the sign up or log in is broken app is white screen and loads the map for a split second just to kick you out
Experience is Trash - Stick with Uber or Lyft. Whatever money you are saving by not tipping is being wasted by the inconvenient pickup and drop off locations and slow driving time. Do not recommend for people in a rush to the airport. Whatever “wow” feeling you have the first time using this service wears off as soon as your first ride is over. The whole point of a ride share is the convenience of being picked up and dropped off exactly where you need to be. Instead, the service makes you walk a couple blocks.
New to Waymo. So far loving the app experience. Super easy to use and understandable. Onboarding was so easy. Actually getting in the car was easy to understand as well. The ride experience was great and comfortable. Drop off was a little wonky- dropped me off 1 1/2 blocks away but that was it.
Unique and great experience. Good safe and smooth ride. I felt no difference than with an actual driver; perhaps even more safe experience. I would definitely use it again and on regular basis. Can’t wait the service to expand across all 50states.
Always saw these cars but never tried them until now !. Absolutely love these cars and the connivence of them !! Definitely prefer using this vs Uber. Uber has been having a lot of horror stories and i definitely feel safer in them as a woman :) love these little guys !
Peaceful ride. Exceeded my expectations. Very responsive and lets you know every step needed for an enjoyable ride. I highly recommend for a relaxing ride. Very clean. Very comfortable and great viewing to enjoy the scenery. I will be using them as much as possible. I just did a 50 minute ride and enjoyed the Phoenix area views with no worries. Great prices for an amazing ride.
Awesome. I’ll never go back. Having a smooth ride without a driver is obviously the future and the experience is top notch. No more smelly, angry, scary, annoying, dangerous drivers. I love it every time I’m in it. Allows me the peace and quiet to reflect on my day snd do some random things I need to do on my phone for work.
App is very basic, doesn’t tell you ETAs. I wanted to order a ride, but it didn’t give me an ETA. Uber and Lyft said 2-3 minutes for a car to come. I took a chance and paid for Waymo and only then did it give me a 13 minute estimate. I took me a while to figure out how to cancel it and I went with an alternative. Subpar app from Google - they just need to copy basics from Uber first. Start with telling users what the ETAs are before charging them to use the app.
I’ve been a fan for years!. I absolutely love the app and Service! Granted, not all areas are included, however, I’m OK with that. I do understand that automated cars need to park for pick up and drop off in safe locations. sometimes it’s not the most convenient and you might have to walk a little but wow! It’s so thrilling and I love helping to move technology forward.
Love Waymo rides and this app works well. Had a few driverless rides in SF and this one here had a really great & smooth experience. Especially loved how in the car you can see which objects it detects and traffic lights / reasons why not moving. Highly recommend everyone to give it a try!!
Great app and ride but bad service and double cc charge. Toom my first ride, it was fantastic experience however i notice for no reason it charged me twice after 1hr. I had to check with my cc and waymo support, bad customer service told me it was just a hold and should go away but I should monitor it for 2 days. Why are you guys putting on $25 hold on my cc for simple $9 ride ? Have taken so many uber trips, never had to deal with this kind of basic stuff.
Very cool. Today was a cold and rainy day in San Francisco, so I took advantage of the Waymo service to stay out of the elements and get a ride to the office near Levi’s Plaza. It was my first time and I was surprisingly pleased with the whole experience, even though I had wanted to try it for some time. Thank you, Waymo, for the convenience, good tunes, and smooth ride!
First ride. Love it. About 20 minutes. The car drove very safe. I was surprised at the end that the car choose to turn right and make a loop so as not to have to turn left on a complicated busy street. Very safe, but I was a little concerned I put in the wrong address! I will definitely use again. A great technology. Amazing. I highly recommend the experience.
An Excellent Ride. The app is intuitive and easy to use. Pricing is reasonable. The map to your pick up and drop off location is accurate. The time to the destination is accurate. I will see you again soon. Thank you Waymo, drive safe and see you next time.
Waymo!. We try to take a Waymo anytime we are in town. I absolutely love this car. I feel safe and it is always there when it says it will be there. Drops off in places it feels are safe so occasionally you do have to walk a little. I cannot wait till I visit Phoenix so I can take a Waymo!
Easy for Grandmas and Grandkids. My granddaughter wanted a ride for her birthday. I had never gone Waymo before, but the app was easy, Apple Pay easy and the ride was fun and smooth. I took two grandkids with me to the MalI . I could easily show friends how to do the Waymo and I can see, this is a remarkable and safe , user friendly way to Travel. Will be a regular user. Thanks, Waymo!
Kamal. My first ride in a driverless car which was very interesting. Enjoyed the smooth ride . One negative in my opinion was the speed at which the car was going. On few roads the other cars passed us and those cars were in control speed zone but our car was slow. Any reason for that? Could not figure it out .!!!!!!!
Amazing Service. I really enjoy the driverless experience. No speeding or heavy breaking just a very smooth ride. Easy to call. They come very quickly. And you do not have to tip. I love the music and the whole mellow vibe of the car. The car stops for pedestrians, cars, cyclists, etc. And I feel safe.
Fantastic service. I have been in both Uber and lyft cars and on several occasions the driver would either be playing with their phone or even texting or talking on the phone. But never happens with Waymo. I never have to worry about a drunk driver, a driver who is texting, or a driver who is not paying attention. Wo is perfect and way safer!
Super relaxing. I had a very relaxed trip using Waymo. The ride was extremely smooth, the wait time was very short, and there was no unpleasant smell in the car. The car was very clean and neatly organized. It was a very easy service to use. I will DEFINITELY use the service again and highly recommend it for anyone needing a ride service.
Safe! Reliable! Effortless :). Love using Waymo in SF. Super safe travels each time. Doesn’t cancel on you, always clean, and the added features that warn you when a car or motorcycle is approaching when you are exiting the car, that saved me a few times! Can wait for Waymo to be everywhere. God speed :)
Waymo Is Changing Things. I have never felt more safe in a taxi service. I know I’m not alone when I say how relieved I am now that I know that my ride is driving and making turns based on getting me to my destination in the safest way possible. There is no argument, this is the safest method of taxi around this town.
Loved it!. It was really fascinating and a bit scary at first but to be completely honest I hate taking car service because of the drivers. Men… as a woman I’m never keen to get in a car with a man. Too much cologne, not enough of a shower, talking too loud, on the phone, etc. Waygo has everything I love about car service and none of what I hate. Loved it!!
The Future is Here. Driverless Technology is here to stay and only Waymo knows how to do it right. Slow and steady. Forget Cruise. And defo forget Tesla. Time for we the public to throw our support behind Big G and make this tech the new normal. No more angry Uber/Lyft drivers and car smells that make you want to pass out so you politely ask the driver if it’s okay to lower the window and not get a 1 star for trying to breathe.
Love it. Smooth drive! There is a button to call support if you need, to pull over, to set music, to charge your phone. The car told me to not forget my bag and phone when we were getting closer to my destination, and right before leaving the vehicle to check that the car is clear 😁
Driver who always shows up. The one huge advantage that Waymo has over Uber or Lyft is the fact that the car always shows up roughly when it says it will. Maybe 1-2 min late, maximum. Prices are cheaper than Uber/Lyft late at night, and tend to be more expensive during the day.
Safe. I love it! I use it everyday for work in the morning here in downtown LA. No need for awkward conversations, no tips, you can have private conversations with your friends, you can play your own music, choose your own temperature, safe ride and I love that it’s patient and will wait outside for 5 mins till you come down. It’s a very cool experience. 5 stars.
Back to the Future!. What a great and truly unique experience! I felt much more comfortable than having a human drive me! I felt like I had come back to earth 50 years later! What a great experience AND there’s no tipping involved; I mean I love tip to show my appreciation, but this makes it even more affordable!
Best ride ever!. The only negative feedback I have is find a way for the rider to be able to connect to the vehicles stereo system. But other than that the un-added pressure of having to talk to a human is the best to me because I don’t have to think of what to say or feel as though I’m going to offend anyone. Will be using again.
Direct, easy and Fun ride!. Needed a ride to PHX airport. Thought we would try waymo since it was our first time in the area. Surprised my husband with the ride. So much fun. Privacy in the car and you’re allowed to the music way up! App is straight forward with pick up and drop off locations. Will use again when we’re back in Phoenix.
First ride. That was an overall amazing experience. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt as comfortable and as safe inside a taxi as I did on this ride. I watched it like a hawk, and it never broke even one traffic law, not even by 1 mph. The car even slow down when there was a pedestrian on the sidewalk stumbling, just in case. Outstanding! Years ago when a taxi driver wouldn’t give me my luggage from the trunk until I gave him $150, I swore off taxis. I have used Uber and Lyft for years, but the quality and cleanliness of the cars is highly variable. I will use this service as often as I am able going forward. Thank you Waymo!
Use the Dynamic Island. I love this app, it’s perfect easy to use and has almost no flaws. The Apple Pay is so easy to use but I’d love for them to add the Dynamic Island into use maybe? When the car is arriving it would be nice to see the Dynamic Island being used for live updates
Waymo used to be cool. Waymo used to be cool, but then it got expensive. Been riding since the Beta test days, it used to be more competitive with Lyft/Uber when Waymo started charging. But Waymo consistently now is 2-3x more expensive, for my regular rides I do all the time! Was excited to start taking Waymo more but it’s just to much money, especially considering that we are all just human crash test dummies for them.
It’s legit. As an attorney I’m always skeptical, but this was everything it’s chalked up to be. Smooth ride, quick, and easy to use. I wasn’t sure what to expect or how to use it but the app and the whole experience is user friendly. I can’t wait for the next opportunity to take one! And it was reasonably priced.
