Med student. Please have a version for apple watch so I can look up info easily.

Completely lacks dark mode. This app has not been updated to support basic iOS features, such as dark mode. Of note, every other app on my iPad has been updated appropriately to support dark mode. The net result is an incredibly poor user experience, as users like me are suddenly blinded by a white app background when switching amongst apps. Developers, please update the UpToDate to support these tentpole features.

Updated today, keeps crashing. app continues to crash. was working fine before i updated the app today.

Amazing reference, but one request. I love using UpToDate as a reference. One suggestion would to be able to search graphics instead of having to search through the articles. This functionality is available on the web version and I can’t imagine it would be difficult to bring to the app.

Offline content unreliable. I payed extra for it but if you’re in an area with poor WiFi (like, where you need offline content) it sometimes works and sometimes not. It suddenly decides that you never set it up and you need to start over. I used Epocrates for years and am using it more again. Not as complete but it always works.

Need highlighting. App needs improvement. It would be benefit if we had highlighting feature. Also to increase text size especially in iPad. As a provider I use this app every day find it difficult and overwhelming to go back and remember we’re I left off from reading.

Offline content availability makes UPTODATE a true 5 Star!. Thanks for the offline content, it makes this App a 5 Star wonder when making hospital rounds in remote areas like Shinshicho, Ethiopia!

Outline navigation issues. As with other users, since iOS upgrade, using the outline navigation no longer works. If I click any subsection under the outline (such as Summary and Recommendations), the app always navigates to the top of an article (always to Introduction). This obviously dramatically reduces the functionality of the app. I’ve upgraded to the newest iOS (13.1.2), ensured the app is up to date, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app - no changes. Please let us know when a fix will be available, thanks!

Needs More Accessability Options. UpToDate is great but one major issue is the lack of font scaling options, especially on the iPad platform. There is a font size toggle but even on max size, the text is still too tiny to read comfortably. This is an issue many of my colleagues and I have with the app. Please consider adding larger font sizing for users who are visually impaired or simply wish to lessen their eye strain.

They ruined a good thing. With the recent update the app is simply useless. No it literally doesn’t even open it crashes immediately. Restarting the device and trying to uninstall and reinstall did nothing. Institutional login hasn’t worked for me in over a year even though my hospital has it. The people in charge of this app are simply not very bright.

Verbose and clinically useless. After practicing Hospitalst medicine for a little over 10 years now I can honestly say that up-to-date has been getting more and more useless. You can literally fit what is needed on one page consisting of presentation, diagnosis, and treatment. But all up-to-date gives you is a ton of nonsense. Very expensive and overpriced.

Great. As a medical student this is an invaluable app but it’s not perfect. I would like to see it compatible with the Apple Watch.

Crashing. Suddenly crashes immediately upon trying to open. Unusable.

Great App. I've had this app for a little over a year now. I downloaded it because I am in NP school and it has been a great resource on both my phone and iPad. Haven't had any issues yet and great information! I recommend.

App keeps freezing. I can even use the app because whenever i search a topic the app freezes, i tried uninstalling and installing the app but the same thing keeps happening

More options. UpToDate is really amazing and i really enjoy to read from them. Please add some more options for reading in the topics, like add highlights to the sentence of underline a word, it really helpful for us and thanks a lot again

Decent but redundant. I use UTD daily, the info is helpful and trustworthy. However, most of the topics contain a lot of redundancy. It’s sometimes too much to slog through, especially in the middle of a busy clinic day. What would be more helpful is to edit so the info is thorough but concise whilst including links for the atomic level detail.

Freezes every single time!. Completely unusable. Updated review - the latest update has fixed the issue.

Outline problem fixed!. There was a problem with the outline where pressing links did not take you to the right spot in the page but it’s now fixed! Otherwise has all the functionality you’d expect.

App completely freezes. in the last update app freezes when i want to open any topic and after a while it will just go back to home page. + update: when this happens connecting to cellular would fix the crash and then you can switch back to wifi.

Issue with outline. When tapping on the outline to jump to certain section it over shoots and goes to the incorrect sections.

Needs fixing. Would be great if the institutional log in worked. My school pays a lot of money for this resource and I can never get it to work on my phone, both using Wi-Fi and using my mobile data.

Not working since upgrading iPhone software. I love UpToDate and use it quite often at work. However every since I updated my iPhone to the latest software, it wouldn’t even log it me and keeps on giving an “error” message. I even tried deleing it and re-downloading it, same thing. It’s not an account issue because I can log in from my laptop just fine. It would be perfect if it would start working on my phone again.

Amazing but broken with recent update. Amazing app with high quality reliable medical knowledge at your fingertips, but unfortunately what was a nearly perfect app was broken with the most recent update. The skip to section of the table of contents of articles works properly as it always has, but the drug information pages no longer skip to the right section, it is always wrong and several sections down resulting in having to scroll through huge amounts of information to get to section needed. I ended up using pediatric renal dosing of a medication instead of adult renal dosing because it jumped to the wrong section and the table didn’t have a title to identify that it was for pediatric instead of adults. Please fix this immediately! It makes looking up drugs on the app useless and have to rely on desktop for web browser version

Not functional. The app is not working. Getting “failure to connect to server” message over and over when trying to search for things. Closing app, logging out, restarting phone, and deleting didn’t help.

Overall great, but lacking simple features. UpToDate is an excellent resource for healthcare providers to access current information relevant to clinical practice. The app allows for easy mobile access to UpToDate’s exceptional content from well regarded authors. In order to the improve the mobile experience it would very beneficial to have features to allow users to highlight text and add notations for future reference. UpToDate please add highlighting capabilities!

An essential for a family practitioner.. I began using UTDOL about 1990 (?), soon after it was offered. I was one of about 4 MD’s in our multispecialty group of 40 using it. That number slowly increased, and now our group, up to 75 practitioners, has a site license. UTDOL has allowed me to stop buying new editions of Harrison’s Internal Medicine and of “Current Therapy”. Sadly, I have now retired at 77 and seldom need UTDOL.

App too limited for such great medical resource. Up-to-date is the be best medical resource for practicing medical physician , but the app is so limited Please provide the following features 1- Ability to highlight and save user comments for personal review.. If new version article comes, app can move The highlighted sections to new version , if possible 2- if above is not applicable , to give the option to upload the file as PDF

Outline issue. I use this app regularly and normally would give 5 stars. However, after upgrading to iPhone 11 pro and or iOS 13 there has been a bug that makes using the app very difficult. Now whenever selecting a topic from the outline it navigates to the top of the page instead of the section pressed/selected requiring scrolling through whole post looking for a certain section which can be very difficult to find. Hopefully an update is coming soon to address this issue

Ok app needs to be streamlined. This app a wealth of information but it is to much to go thru when you want a simple answer. It should be streamlined so it is not so busy. Put it in soap from to streamline it and then have a button for additional information l. Once that is changed then I will give a five star!

Can’t update over Cellular Data. Update offline content is not allowed over Cellular Data pla. Can you kindly fix this issue plz Thanks

Very helpful. Very good info on pretty much anything you will need- easy to use.

Offline content not accessible. Downloaded 1.7 GB of offline content, but app will not access it. Otherwise great app.

Can’t use library access. I’m a student and my school has a subscription however I can’t access it through the app so instead I have to keep using safari to go through my institution link

Great work. More Powerful visualizations. Interactive data, and custom data exploration actions. Great features

Institutional account login doesn’t work. I selected Institutional Login and the list only has one option. Tried it anyway (why not) and of course didn’t work. Instructions said if your institution isn’t listed just sign in on the main page. Tried that and it also didn’t work. No link for help, so there’s apparently nothing I can do - can’t use the app.

Crashing. Great app for medical decision making. For some reason is crashing every time I try to search something today

Offline content not downloading smoothly.. While downloading offline content it often crash and stop downloading and never progress to end. There are many other app who are providing smooth service without any pay like medscape. Hope someday I will proudly say that uptodate is best. Hoping for good user interface and smooth performance in coming days. Good luck

Great app. I use this app all the time as oncologist. It is great to use, nicely organized and quick to navigate. I always learn something from it and the references are superb.

Not connecting to server problem. I’ve been using this app especially for its offline content for years with my (expensive) personal subscription. Recently any action generates numerous error popups indicating a connection or network problem. I deleted the app and reinstalled the latest version from the App Store but now even trying to login generates a connection or server error. Fortunately I am able to access the UTD web site, but there have been several circumstances where I have been in areas without WiFi or cell service under emergency conditions and unable to access the offline content due to need to update the offline content. Certainly if one cannot login or access information, especially under urgent medical situations, the app is not useful so I can’t justify more than one star if the app doesn’t work. My advice to many others out there who also have this problem is don’t buy individual subscriptions and just use institutional accounts when connected to a work machine and look to other reliable apps that offer offline content when in need of urgent medical information ( and there are many). Our practice and affiliated hospitals no longer use UTD because of unreliable access issues. The quality of medical care in the USA has deteriorated due to problems with technology and this is another example of a chronic technology problem afflicting many that UTD does not appear capable of repairing. Stay away from this app!

The most recent update made the app unusable. The most recent update made the app unusable. As soon as you seach for anything and click on the article, the app freezes

Not working. App has not been working the last couple of weeks. I deleted the app and reinstalled and now I can’t even log in.

UpToDate is the best review app but…. UpToDate is the best review app for healthcare professionals. I have noticed an annoying bug with this app. Every time there is an update the offline data is deleted and you have to download all of the offline content agin from scratch. Which is very annoying. I hope you will fix this in the new update.

Too many bugs. The app becomes unusable after a few minutes of use. The developer team doesn’t seem to be working at all for fixing this freezing issue.

Amazing. Simply the best app for clinical reasoning and medical info ! Simply laid out and info you can trust ! Amazing !

Invaluable. I have used this app since 2004. It is extraordinarily valuable. Standard of care data is presented. With uptodate I never make a clinical error even when presented with the most complex unusual diseases.

Used to be wonderful. The new version is very confusing. Difficult to find diagnosis and treatment very wordy are used to love this app but now it’s taking too much time to look things up. Very bad update.

Offline content does not get downloaded beyond 7.8MB. I used to use uptodate. Then I uninstalled it and now that I have installed again, it just wont download offline content beyond 7.8mb and gets stuck there. I have tried uninstalling and installing, it didn’t help.

App not usable since last iOS 13.1.1 Update. Clicking on items in the outline doesn’t take you to that point in topics. This bug appeared since the last apple iOS update. Really making the app not usable.

Great. All you need to know is here. Quick and accesible.

Great!. Thanks for updating so quickly to support iPhone X. Looks great!

A league of its own, but.... Very comprehensive medical text with up t mdate info as its title says. The use of images and graphics is not pretty in this content rich app. This is unfortunate because it does take away from the beauty of the app. It is jnot a cheap app, but worth the cost. The ability to perform smart searches would be good, using table of conktexnts to narrow down topic searches, and specific seqrch terms , boelan for instance

Institutional log in?. My institution is not listed when i try to log in via my institutional account. Makes it a bit difficult!

Crash after update. Was working well until the most recent update. Since then the app won't work for more than 10 seconds

Brilliant. Intuitive. Good interface and fast.

Love this. A native iOS app was a long time coming, but worth the wait. This app is worth the subscription price alone. I use it daily. Recommended.

Finally!. Very easy to use. Love it!!

UPDATED: iPad table of contents now works. Updated review: Within the space of a single week, I contacted UpToDate and they fixed the bug! Your responsiveness is amazing. Anyway, the table of contents now works perfectly and I once again will use UpToDate constantly on my iPad. I’ve revised my 2 star rating to a 5 star review. Thank you once again. Original review: On iPadOS, the table of contents doesn’t actually work on the left hand side, meaning you have to scroll the entire article to get to your heading. Please fix this.

Minor formatting issues detract from new update. Newest update seems to load faster but now has formatting issues for example the paragraph headings now run into the first sentence and headings and topics don't appear to be as well hyperlinked within the paragraphs. The update has also changed the font from Arial equivalent to Times. Both make it less visually appealing and slower to read, I will await with interest whether this is going to be changed. Content remains the same, very good. Certainly still recommend this app, and agree with other users that it would be great to be able to download topics to read offline eg. On aeroplanes or when internet coverage is sparse.

everything you love in an app - quick and easy and to the point.. jo

Great app. Very useful for subscribers and works well. All the same great info you get from uptodate but mobile.

They want $89 to enable offline browsing!!!. Offline browsing has been enabled for this app now - if you don't mind handing over $89 on top of your $369 or $739 2-year subscription. Surely the already massive fees are enough to justify this basic service, which costs them nothing to deliver. Wolters Kluwer has found a way to squeeze even more out of us. I'm sick of it - I'm not renewing out of protest - I'll use Google!

Excellent. Beautifully adapted for use on iPad. So quick and easy to find up to date, clear, evidence based information. Very happy with navigating tools within app

Great app. Great app, keeps us up to date every single minute, whatever information you after, would be in you pocket!!!

No offline browsing. I have no Internet access on my iPad and iPhone. It's not like medscape that can be used offline.

What's the point?!?. UTD itself remains the excellent (if expensive) resource that it has been for >10 years, but what does this app add? It's nothing more than a dedicated browser, and I find the Safari interface easier to read.

Best of all the Medical App. If you have uptodate, you don't need any other Medical app. Its the most comprehensive medical tools for Doctors and medical student available. Even though the subscription is expensive, its worth every pie of it. And the apps is so easy to use, its great.

Keeps crashing!! Please fix.. Since the newest update, app keeps crashing when opening the app. I have tried hard resetting my iPhone with no luck. Please fix.

Too many updates. Every time trying to open this app to get quick info and you have to update the app. Google is much quicker and efficient !!

Latest update broken. Logs me in at first then any article I try to access I'm logged out again. Can't download the offline database either - "download failed". Then logs me out. Doesn't work on my iPhone or iPad. Online browser access works fine with the same credentials.

Great app. This is a really good app thanks. But with the recent update you have to scroll down every time you leave the app and come back to it. It doesn’t stay where you left it. Can you guys please fix this.

Lacks ability to log out remotely. Lacks the ability to log out of other sessions from the iOS app. Eg. If you've logged in on pc and iPad then decide to travel with your phone but forgot to log out of the other devices then you can't access the app. Please add a way to log out of old sessions remotely. I'm paying huge $'s for subscription to this service and not letting me gain access is not good enough.

Great app! Easy to use.. This is an excellent app. Have used the desktop version for a long time. Would be better if content stores on iPhone as my hospital doesn't have Internet coverage.

Needs work. Slow to initialize and up date. Recent up date left my app non-responsive.

Not bad. Not too bad, but please update icon resolution so that it looks good on iPad.

Unbelivable2 (facepalm) great info. Unbelivable2 is why laypersons shouldn’t try to read material intended for persons with doctorate degrees. Up-to-date is reliable enough that the CFPC Certified them for mainpro+ CME credits. I use up-to-date constantly and my only critic is that sometimes articles can be a bit long winded and hard to navigate when I just want a straight forward guideline-based answer on the best choice for the patient in front of me. That and the app is buggy as all hell, I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall it after “updates” at least 3 times now.

App crash. App crashes on login, please fix!

Not working!. The App for the last several weeks has stopped functioning almost completely. Searches never load and is impossible to use. What is going on? This issue should have been fixed on day 1 considering price of subscription. Extremely disappointed

Excellent. Dans mon I pod, super

Compliment. Superbe et très efficace

New version layout is awful. Uptodate is amazing, the iPhone app was great. The new layout is awful.

Great app. Amazing app!!

Need for iPhone 5 Update. Nice to have content downloaded. It does appear to check for content updates frequently, which can be frustrating if your data plan on your phone or your connection is tenuous. Would appreciate an update for iPhone 5 that would allow the program to use the entire screen. Cheers!

Connexion individuelle.

Best medical app around. without any doubt best medical all-around app powerful search engine diverse topics lots of relating article regarding clinical approaches detailed information that helps you in day to day practice a section dedicated to practice changing Updates that is so helpful there is also sections for recent findings in every discipline in short you can say good bye to all of your medical text books if you have uptodate subscription

Family Physician. UpToDate is the ultimate professional medical encyclopedia ... It's the Lamborghini equivalent in terms of medical software.i give it 6/5 stars.

Great offline. While I'm annoyed that there is an extra charge for offline access (since it was always offline with palm an windows os) it works great.

Essential for my work. One app with great information on various subject! I use it almost every day!

Crashes. This initial release crashes/freezes with frequency, but still great to finally have. Update Uptodate?

Avoid. No iPhone 6 support

Worth the Money. Expensive but worth the money. A bit internal medicine heavy (from a general surgery perspective) and some articles are more opinion than evidence but still my go-to app after 18 years in practice. Great that it tracks your time for CME too but dang it’s expensive!!

A medical student's dream!. This app is the perfect pocket companion for all hours of the day. The interface is actually even more user friendly than the online version. This is my top medicine app!

Bad update. The new update broke section link scrolling for phones on older iOS.

Awesome app!. Super easy to use, very functional and everything I expect from UptoDate.

Very good iphone rendition.. Use thos on my Mac, but the iphone version is fast and easy to use. Thank you.

Good. Much easier to browse than that one on the website

Up to date.com. My experience is not great. Fir several months i dont get my credits didplayed . I am a member of one of the Edmonton PCN.s When i try to discuss it i always have to leave a message but no one returns my call. Dont waste your money, there must be better ways of getting relevant updates. Abcdefgh22

Meilleure app médicale!. Je suis un étudiant en médecine et j'utilise UpToDate tous les jours afin de faire des recherches sur la présentation clinique, les traitements, rafraichir mes connaissances et bien plus encore. Je ne pourrais m'en passer!

Crashes a lot since last iOS update. Trying to save the offline content seems to be a new problem

No doubt UpToDate is a solid reference. In the field of medicine. As for the app, when using MobileComplete, it would be nice if, by default, it wouldn't try to backup the whole 1GB of text and data in iCloud. Selectively backing up bookmarks and CME would be nice though.

Unable to open articles. Unfortunately, since the recent update, I haven't been able to open the articles. I can search and choose and article but all I can see is the outline. This is useless! Please revise!

Crash. App on iPhone and iPad crashes since update. The app is unusable. An app that costs $700 should work. Please fix.

Nice to finally have the app. App makes navigating UpToDate a lot easier than logging in through a browser window online. Tend to use this a lot in 3rd and 4th year medical school - so any change in the right direct helps a lot.

Saleh. It is very practical and useful

Dr. Very pleased. Reliable, easy navigation. I don't see any difference vis a vis desktop access.

Great (when it works).. Lets be clear, what I want is a RELIABLE source of information. That means both content and FUNCTION. The latest bug that needs to be addressed is freezing that happens after submitting a search. It doesn't even resolve after restarting the app or the phone; it just recurs which renders the app useless. Sorry to see such a great source of information wasted on bad software.

Needs institutional support. This app would be great if I could log on. It absolutely needs to add institutional support for universities with subscriptions.

Good app. I will keep this app, but you NEED to add ability to use while connected to an institutional VPN. I don't have individual access but can access everything via VPN. This needs to be available in this app.

Great app!. Utd is an essential resource for physicians. I'm currently a tester for a beta version of the mobile app which works even faster.

A new problem. Since last up date the interaction took is non functioning. Up to this point the only issue I have is that the search function is too non specific and something it can be a serious challenge to find what I’m specifically looking for.

Practical. Great app! With quick access to evidence based medicine when mobile

Worth subscribing. If your not an uptodate subscriber, this mobile version should help change your mind...an outstanding on the go resource... 5 stars if they didn't charge extra for the offline content...until then, a solid 4

Disappointed. This app constantly crashes and sometimes takes forever to return search results. Very disappointed with this product overall, especially considering the amount of money it costs.

Great app. I agree that charging extra for offline access isn't warranted considering the price of subscription. The resource is great.

Doc MK. Brilliant! Even better than online version.

ADD VPN PLEASE!. This would be the greatest app ever if you could log in through VPN. Think of all the university students that can't use it for that reason...

Great. Love it

Needs institutional support. For those who use their institution's support to login and don't have their own personal login the app is not very helpful. However, this seems to be a relatively easy problem to overcome if UpTo Date chose to address this issue.

Institutional support. Urgently needs institutional support. Until then I have to rely on mobile safari.

UptoDate. Fantastic resource

Not too Up to dat. This is not too “up to date” as you may think as this piece of information suggests you start introducing solid food in a baby of 4 months because of lack of iron, when there are a lot of really trusting resources like World Health Organization states that you should only give breastfeeding exclusively to a baby up to the 6 months and also says the iron of a normal term baby (>38 weeks) last until 6-7 months and that’s why you have to start the complimentary food to your baby at that age not before! So please correct that info since it look not UP TO DATE!!!!

Very slow. Freezes the whole time.

Exellent info and fast. Very easy access to a lot of usefull info.

excellent, though not complete. I am 5 yrs into subscriptions for this, both institutional and individual, and access to both continuously. I have many devices I use it on, both immobile and mobile. I have no relationship at all with the company. I teach people of all types, starting with myself. I have and am a clinician in both academic, institutional, private, individual situations, requiring access at different points of service and, basically anywhere I have WiFi. pros: ease of access; log of CME; learning tool; very rapid and continuous updates and accurate content. complete accessibility on mobile, laptop, desktop. the mobile app is worth the investment to me, as maximum mobility is required. cons: I gave this a 5 star. it is human and therefore incomplete. the occasional subject in some specialized areas or subspecialties is not available, though invitations to subscribers to add such is requested. This service is accessible from the modern mobile browsers, therefore the Mobility App payment is just a Plus for those highly addicted to this site. like me. Can I recommend it to: all clinicians. Can I not recommend it to: those that want to read paper or a book physically, though printable material is instantaneous if device is connected to printer.

Excellent app from an already excellent product!. Been using Up To Date for years. It has been an excellent resource for my office. The app is designed very well. Even better accessibility!

It's good and all but.... I think the information on uptodate is superbly exhaustive and that's all good for any medical staff or student. But the way the information is delivered I'm pretty sure there is a better way. With apps becoming more intuitive and also interactive I'm sure that's what uptodate lacks majorly. What is needed here is probably a revamp of the existing software and a brand new version with a more interesting and exciting approach at how all this amazing amount of information should be dispensed to the user. Please come up with something, soon. Thanks and keep up the good work.

THE ONLY APP you need in Medicine. Nothing else even comes close to what Uptodate has accomplished in terms of the live updated reference system usable at point of care. This App literally makes that entire database accessible on your device in a seamless integration with the web based access. Can't function without it in clinical setting.

Resident. Awesome app. But the 2 device limit is uncalled for considering most people have 3 or more. Be like kindle books. If it is for same apple account then number of devices should not matter.

Fantastic. I really appreciate having access on to go without having to go through a mobile browser. Yeah you have to have a subscription, but then you can install this on your phone and iPad. Not sure why other reviews say misleading. The only extra cost is if you want the no WiFi/signal version.

Excellent App. It's a must have App for all physicians and other healthcare professionals. And finally the much awaited iPhone 5 support makes it the best medical application. Please add Retina display to this application and its icon. It's the only app on my home-screen with a non-retina/blurry icon and text. Thanks!

UI is excellent, but requires continuous internet access. The user interface is good and the response is fast enough. These are good point of the app, however, the content is not stored in iPhone itself. Previously, Windows mobile version had whole content within PDA after installation, therefore it did not require internet access to read each contents. To UpToDate team, please consider preparing application for "whole content version".

Great!. UpToDate is a great resource for physicians, and this app is a handy way to access it in a mobile format. The people who are rating this low since it is has subscriber only access are ridiculous. The app is upfront in saying you need an account.

This is a great app. Great app!!!!!

Formatting / UI major problem. I agree with the other reviewers about the significant problem with this update: the formatting / UI looks very amateurish and the app is now much more difficult to navigate and read. I love Uptodate in general and use it most every day (it is my favorite and most useful reference), but this update needs to be fixed, STAT (please)! Very disappointed at the moment, although I am sure we will all be happy again and the reviews will be much more positive once this is fixed.

Awesome!! Finally here!!. My most eagerly awaited app is finally here! Love the layout, and the smartly placed 'Summary and Recommendations' tab. Very intuitive, love the fact that you don't have to sign-in every time. Can't wait for the iPad app.

Good for tracking CME. Need to make it faster. When I first asked them about an app, they replied with a firm no! It's high time they released one. Quite handy although a bit slow on AT&T

Large screen support. I think the app needs to be updated in order to fit the layout of iPhone 6+, also one month of institutional subscription allowance is ANNOYING....really ANNOYING....

UpToDate. Very nicely done as far as I can see with one day's usage. Searches are just as easy as when done with a browser, in-app bookmarks, thoughtful resizing methods, etc. An excellent portal to an excellent resource.

A better way to access UpToDate material. A step in the right direction, would be great if no internet connection is needed to access the information. Take note of this UptoDate costumer service.

Works Great!. Nothing like free CEUs!!!

HATE HATE HATE the stupid mandatory updates.. Frequently get the message "Application Expired: Your Application must be Updated to Continue." These happen frequently. It's usually for 'bug fixes.' Why should we have to update to a potentially new unstable version of app, when subsequent versions have their own problems too?! SUPER ANNOYING to get that mandatory message when you are intending to spend your valuable time searching, not updating (to a potentially non-functioning version). LET US decide when to update!! Mandatory Updates = weak and ignorant programmers' decision; incompetent managerial decision.

Actually Doc says buy. You get the app free with a subscription. No problems logging on here. What needs to be said? Uptodate is go to for all things medical. Have my meds student present articles from here all the time.

Expensive but you get your money's worth. This is a great reference tool. The only thing I would suggest would be the ability to do a "word" search on the particular article being looked at. It would make this app an even better point of care tool.

The Best. I use UTD frequently on my desktop and phone, sometimes in the exam room. It is usually accurate, not commercial, and usually balanced. The breadth of content is impressive - not just internal med focused. I find it very easy to use & very well organized. I have the mobile option w offline content that is usually adequate. I have used the offline content in Kenya w no service & it was great.

Keep freezing. App keeps freezing

Excellent access and content!. App works well. I was anticipating the mobile version few years back and when it came gave us physicians access on the move rather than just at our work station at the office. Thanks for creating is. Content, as we have come to depend on, is excellent.

Outline doesn’t work. Please fix the outline issue!!!!

A top-notch medical reference. As a practicing physician in a large hospital-based practice, I have found UpToDate to be one of the best reference sources available. It is in-depth yet easy to read, and it always seems to answer my clinical question when other sources have failed. A subscription is required to use this app. It is pricey, about $500 (much less for trainees). I suspect this price will limit purchasers to those who are reimbursed for it as a CME item. The subscription includes the app, as well as access to Uptodate from any other browser anywhere. As for CME credit, the program keeps track of your reading history, and you can later submit that list for CME credits. Some other comments about the app. The orientation of the screen frequently turns 180 degrees, for instance when opening a search box. It is a little annoying. Also, there is no table of contents or ability to browse subjects from within the app. You must search for a specific topic. This is great for answering point-of-care clinical questions, but not so good for educational reading. If these quirks were corrected I would likely give it a 5-star rating. Also, a nice extra feature would be the ability to choose a random subject. Overall I would recommend UpToDate, if you can afford the subscription. You will find it useful and enjoyable to read.

Ipad version. When is the ipad version of Uptodate coming out?! I have to squint my middle aged eyes to read this version on my cellphone. Overall, the platform is great. I think an ipad/tablet version would be better for viewing the graphs and images. My two cents.

Fantastic, what is wrong with these 1-star. I can't believe two reviewers posted 1-star because they get UpToDate for free at work and they don't want to pay for the app? That is because their works PAYS FOR IT, why are they using this as a measure of rating, especially when it sounds like they didn't actually get the app.... For me it has been fantastic as an NP student, and most of the providers I work with use it routinely. The iPad app is really easy to use- if not easier than the website, and has all of the content of the website. 'Nuff said. Please people, review based on the actual program.

Very useful. Gathers current thought on diagnosis and treatment. Also valuable when reviewer expresses basis for preference among alternatives. I am lucky to have access from group. Perhaps individual memberships could be lower in cost to expand base of members.

Needs support for enterprise users. I love uptodate and use it all the time, but the app lacks support for users who take advantage of their hospital or medical school subscriptions. I've already paid for uptodate as part of my tuition, so for now I'll be accessing uptodate via safari on my iPhone. The mobile site is quite good, but I'm sure the interface and functionality achievable with the app is superior.

offline download doesnt save. I have been trying to download the offline content for three weeks already. The internet is unreliable where I live, which is why I would benefit from the offline option, except that when I get to close like 800mb, the download resets. The ISP limits me to 800mb per day and they throttle me if I go over, so I have to wait till i have access again, but then the download restarts. So for me, I actually haven't been able to use this app.

Great App. I've been waiting for this for a while. Really good interface, records CME and is easy to use. You can do a lot with it and has a direct link to summary for quick reference.

Good. It is just the start. I think future releases will address some issues. We need the feature of printing, emailing, bookmarking to work better or to be added. Also, to make content available off line which I think is already in the plans. You are limited to signing it to only two devices. It will be better if it is available for 3 as many do have iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad which are used at different locations. Overall, it is a good and handy app

Can have it all wherever you go. Not only can you have it all, between the app and the web browser you can print and mentally digest and document what influenced the decision you ultimately made. Takes a very significant chunk of iPad Mini's memory. It would be nice to be able to download just the Pediatric specialty and Pediatric sub-specialty information to keep for offline use. Cannot do this.

Best Medical App. I've been eagerly awaiting this UTD app, and they did not disappoint! Great layout. Easy and intuitive to use. Bookmark an article with one click, and it goes to a "favorites list." "Summary and Recommendations" button front and center when you open an article.

Actual doctor says DO NOT BUY!. DO NOT BUY! The app login process is profoundly flawed. Log in, then leave for just a moment, then return and (guess what) you've been logged off. The site doesn't save your login, and worse yet, the site indicates "bad login" despite your regular use. I have LITERALLY, not figuratively, had to reset my password every single time I have tried to use the app. The online site is not nearly as delicate. No problems logging in there. But I carry my phone, not my laptop. Been with the website for about 18 months. Only stayed because they have saved some of my CME. When you can actually login, the app site is poorly organized. And NOW, ads cover the site. Sorry guys, but you have failed as an app. Just quit. You are terrible at your job, IT guys. So you non-medical guys understand: when physicians log in, they expect to immediately have information available. Not only is time essential, sometimes time is a matter of life or death. While no reasonable doctor would ever rely on a website/app to make immediate decisions, knowing that your app presents significant barriers to gathering information will deter any reasonable and prudent doctor from using your app. I give you two stars because your actual website is useful, but the app is wretched. DO NOT BUY!

Why no institutional access. It's obvious why they haven't included institutional access - If they did, it would shrink subscription sales. They want to frustrate those with institutional access enough (despite the ease through which they could include it), that they end up paying for a personal subscription. Yes - It's ridiculous, but it's their product and they can do whatever that want with it. As a developer of iOS apps, I can promise that it would take me a single afternoon to add in the feature.

Pleasantly surprised. I was very reluctant to fork out the BIG money for the app and associated registration, but I now see it will be worth it. The information already helping out in my practice and I foresee getting some much- needed CME out of it. I recommend it highly.

Too pricey. It sounds good but at $53/mo it’s too expensive. A friend said they had a free version but I can’t find it.

Uptodate ... Delete and reinstall renders text properly. I deleted and reinstalled the app and now it's working like its old self. Hopefully other people will try this and things will work like new again.

Allows you to stay logged in!!. Perfect! Instructions: purchase subscription Use it anywhere online Next download this app Enter your username/password Access the site through this app without tediously re-entering all of your log-in info. The CME credit does not show on this interface, but you can see it accumulate if you log in on the web. Accessing through this app does credit your CME account.

Cant renew. For some reason my subscription ended with no way to renew!!!!

Thank you very much for this great app. This app is amazing well implemented. I use it all the time on my iPhone when rounding on Hospitalized patients. The information is well organized and easy to search and navigate. It is expensive but well worth it.

Excellent and very well done. I was an early adopter and love the mobile app. The creators are very receptive to feedback, and do solicit it often. I personally think an offline access option is not important because I'm always connected, and the app uses little data anyway. (perhaps offline access can be made available as a second option) and in fact I think that would be the answer to the much requested 'institutional support'. (eg a download with no login available to residents and interns ; thank goodness I now have my own login, haha) The app itself is beautiful, simple to use and just as important retains the uptodate look and feel. I agree with a another reviewer that the app, heck even the PC app, has always suffered from a slightly less capable search function. It needs to 'googlize' itself a bit to make searching for something especially uncommon easier. Otherwise, this app is exceptional.

Great app from UpToDate!. Great app that helps to keep my knowledge up to date. Very useful, especially if you have to stay up to date and maintain multiple board certifications.

Must have for students and providers. Very useful. All current, evidence based practice you'll need in one app. I use it daily for practice and while I'm in school for my Nurse Practitioner degree. User friendly.

You get what you pay for. As a solo FP, this ap is invaluable. I pay the FULL PRICE to use it and am grateful to have it. First used it on the USS RONALD REAGAN at sea and was impressed. Stop whining about institutional prices and either buy it or shut up.

Uptodate. This is the best application to have, not only in your Iphone but in your Ipad as well. I do highly recommend it. No need to use other medical applications, as everything is in there.

Indispensable. I've subscribed for several years and participated awhile back in a users' survey re Uptodate's plans to 'go mobile' with a native app. It looked like we'd have to pay extra for a solid mobile app. Not the case. Uptodate isn't cheap for a primary care internist in solo practice but I find it's money well spent. Such a nice app with a great, reliable database backing it up. The app developers have been very responsive with building in a complete MedCal formula collection. Full CME credit included with use; fine! Drug lookup is excellent, but I still prefer Epocrates free version because of drug interaction lookup, not available in Uptodate, apparently. I may be mistaken (and this facility is present), but it would be useful to offer simple Boolean search modifiers ('AND', 'OR', 'NOT', etc) to allow searching for more complex constellations of symptoms/concomitant diseases.

Solid. Efficient, well designed, well representative of the full version. No complaints after 12 months of use.

Great app with an individual subscription. I love the persistent log in, which makes the app way more convenient than the browser version. It is a robust application, it includes the UpToDate info that became a main reference in the medical practice as well as medical calculators and pharmacopeia. Extremely useful overall and thus 5 stars. The subscription is about $225/year if you are in training (student, resident etc) What I would change to this app if I could: - I would enable fast app switching, meaning that I would like the app to remember exactly where I left off, as sometimes I would like to go back and forth between the app and the Safari browser while researching topics. Currently I can use the history to retrieve the last topic but that is not good (fast) enough. - I would make it available to the institutional users as well. Our institution only provides access through the hospital workstations and I'm paying for individual subscription in order to be able to access the info from my iPhone and from home. While UpToDate makes more money this way, I find the price to be quite steep for the convenience; a discounted/free subscription solution for the institutional users would be fair/ideal.
