INTRO
In medical school, we learn a lot about diseases and the basis for their management. However, we are traditionally less exposed to apparently easy problems like pain, nausea or hypokalemia. Quite often, those issues are brought to the attention of the nursing staff in the evening. At that time, the treating team is away and you're on call, running all over the hospital.
MD on Call gives you tips on how to QUICKLY assess and manage (acutely) common problems so you can go on assessing the next patient, or to your room to get some well deserved sleep. -- it is NOT meant to replace a textbook --

MD on Call Comments & Reviews 2026
Nice. Very helpful for the frantic med student needing a quick answer.
Great!. I've been using this application for the last few weeks. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Although I've been doing calls for almost 4 months now, there's still some situations where I could use some help. This App is almost like having a senior resident helping you out. I also really like the Labs section. I've been using it a lot, even when I'm not on call. Strongly recommended
A must have!!!. THE resource to go to for quick reference on practical hands on issues that come up while on call. I used this app often as an intern and occasionally now as a resident.
Still awesome. Love this app, needs a refresh but still a five star app for any intern who wants a quick reference for when the pager goes off
Quite basic. A little disappointing for the price. The info is pretty basic and the catagories are limited. Way to $$$ for what you get.
FM Intern. Great app. I use it all the time. Can't wait for more topics in upcoming updates.
Great Intern/MedStudent/Crosscover help. Great app to refresh the basics in your head when you are going to see the patent. Chances are if you need this app you are going to be running everything by a senior... But it will help to not forget silly things
Impressive!. Fast, succinct info. Just the way I like it. It's now on my homescreen… This says a lot!
Nice app. Nice app
Amazing Book. Valuable, easily accessable and rich in term of treatment options for most of the oncall emergencies. Strongly recomend it for residents and interns.
Excellent. Really helps late at night on call when you're not at your best
Useful but needs update. Don’t buy if you have iPhone X. Update to be compatible with iPhone X please. I hate that I paid money for this and the developers don’t have the decency to keep the app updated with the current operating system.
Great app.. This app served me well during this long intern year. Great for cross cover.
Average. A good amount of info and the ekg section is helpful but overall not enough depth to be worth the price.
Great app. Great app. I frequently use it while on call
Md. It Is an excellent tool for the busy clinician and med students. The only deficit is it is lacking a lot of clinical scenarios, so I think it will be good if it can be adjusted to actual practice
Resident. Weak. Spend the six bucks elsewhere. Limited info. a waste of money until it improves. Worth about 99 cents
Needs improve. Usefull app, but it need to improve some information and expand more clonical high yields and topics. It is expensive for it's content.
Awesome. Good for me to prep for rush medical school!!!
Wrong advice. Metaclopramide is a prokinetic and contraindicated in sbo. This was listed in the N/V section and incorrect.
Great app...almost there. The only thing missing from this app in my opinion is an "edit" function which is why I gave it a 4. I would like to be able to edit/modify the existing vignettes AND add my own vignettes. The developer is a busy resident, but responded to an email from me stating this was in the future...but they "want to do it right." I use this app regularly and would highly recommend it to med students, residents, or physicians (once the edit feature is present).
Helpfully for writing orders. Helpful eliciting walking thoughts in your way to the ED. Nice guide for writing orders.
WASTE OF MONEY. what a ripoff!! I want my money back..should have listened to the other reviewers..This app should not be more than FREE.
Definitely a must-have app!. This app is perfect for crosscover, wards or anytime you need a quick answer! Love it!!!
Very Basic. This app is very basic, below the level of an EMTP; certainly not adequate for a medical student.
Very useful. Excellent app! Looking forward to more updates with more topics.
DO. Not bad, real basic, but too the point and really helpful if you happen too need it. Worth a few bucks.
Great App!. I used it every time I'm on call.
Needs work. The interface is a little rough and could certainly use some refinement. More troubling is that many recommendations are not adequately referenced to practice standard guidelines, and some references are rather obscure. Some data is just plain wrong, for instance the conversion from TDF 25 mcg/hr to po morphine is stated to be 100 mg/day (no reference is listed for this conversion)...all my resources say 50 mg/day. Hmmm...
Decent. It is a nice little program. It could use some more information with supporting references and a more streamlined interface. Over all it is a worthwhile program.

Handy product. It's handy for junior doctors or medical students who are afraid of missing out important things when freaking out. Good stuff!
Perfect for interns. Worth the $5 if you're an intern going into ward call!
Fantastic. They've really hit the right balance between quick and dirty info, rapid and easy to digest. Makes it a fantastic resource for ward calls. I recommend it to everyone. Cheers.
fantastic. excellent app, great info, well organised, more than helpful, especially during overtime shifts and nights!

Parfait!. !
An absolute must!. Amazing app from both a design and content standpoint. Indispensible for junior residents starting off their nights on call. Tons of useful info packed into this app, very pragmatic. My only suggestion would be to revise the content and references to make sure all the information is still up to date seeing as many are from 2009 and before.
Fantastic! I use it every day!. Fantastic app! I use it everyday. Gives exactly what we need in emerge, nothing that we don't. Everything is covered EXCEPT common disease and tx. Hoping to see this in the future. It's always nice to look up Tinea and see Clindamycin topical BID x 7 days
Awesome!. Every resident should start his shift with this app. I feel much better on my shift with this in my pocket. Saved me from trouble many times.
Great app. Love the new design. Content remains excellent! Thanks!
Useful for nurses too!. You will be able to assess your patient first, then call your MD and wake him only for a goog reason!
Résident. Très efficace en pleine nuit où lors des tournées brève
Nice to have along.... ...for a clerk on call
Excellente app!. (Text in french) App bien montée, facile d'utilisation, à jour et très utile pendant les gardes et dans bien d'autres situations cliniques. Félicitations aux concepteurs! Louis-Philippe Hubert, M.D. Résident en chirurgie générale Université de Montreal Québec, Canada
MD oncall. Overall it is not expensive program that you can have. It doesn't have all futures you need while oncall, ie medicine dose and drugs interaction. It is good to start with, thought.
Great. Portable and concise
WOW. Très bonne Apply surtout sur un code bleu es ce possible de l'avoir en français svp !!!!
Fantastic. Simple App but fulfills a need. Congrats to the fellows who put it together.
Awesome. Well worth it
Code.Trauma. Twenty years ago I played the "on-call" game as a clinical clerk, an intern, and a resident. Then after that I played the "on-call" game as an attending physician for five years. I now, and for the past 16 years, have Been playing the "on call" game as a Board Certified Specialist and hope to do so for 16 more years. Cutting to the chase, after all of my "on call" game experience if there is one thing that could have helped me more than anything it would have and now does it is having this Application in the palm of my hand! I ensist any one who works "on call" buy and use this FIVE STAR application, you'll never regret it for a second. I anxiously awaited the upgrade to v.1.01 and would say that it was worth the wait.
IM Resident. Awesome. Still makes me use my brain a little, which is good, but prompts for all the important/critical things to ask/assess/do/document. Useful not only on call, but also in emerg.
Nice app. Simple to use, quick to load, and has references too for further reading.
Excellent. Excellent and complete ! Really useful for the non surgical or internal medicine resident ( i.e. radiology, radiation oncology,....)
Amazing app for a PGY1. Great app for residents .That would be great if more conditions could be added !
Md. Great and useful app!
À quand en français?. Très utile!
Useful, easy to use, complete. I feel safe knowing I have this app in hand when I am on duty. Also great in the ER.
Great. Excellent
