Liking to get the Memphis news. I No longer live there but I it’s home. Good to know what’s going on try to stop the crime Memphis the city is starting to be ugly !

Sad. WREG has become a joke.

Alerts That Don't Open the Story. This is at least the third time in a month I've seen a worrisome news alert from this app on my lock screen, swiped to open, and found that not only does the story not open, but a matching story cannot be found. This morning it was something about a "dire warning" for Tennessee from the White House. I'm done.

Screen Freeze. This app used to be great. Now, it freezes when opened. You can’t get past the first page when asked about updates. Hopefully, this will be resolved.

B Thompson. NEWS 3 is always my “go to” for the most up to date coverage. Reports are always clear and concise.

CONNECTED. This app is awesome !! It’s always on time with great news. I love it 🤗

Recent upgrade. They recently upgraded their app and while it looks nice it does a very poor job of having more recent headlines. Their national stories especially outdated.

New Annoying Ad. A new ad was added to the app which spins along the bottom of the screen like a casino wheel scrolling. Very annoying when you are trying to read. I deleted the app and added the local abc app to take its place. I already have the local nbc app.

Cannot Resume After Expanding Video. When watching a video in this app, you can’t come out of that screen to go back to the dashboard to read other stories…you must close the app and start over. This prevents me from using this app and if not fixed, I will be deleting it.

Used to work. The app no longer opens the right stories. Sometimes when you click on a story it opens a different one. It is very bad about this on the national stories. I will click on those and it will open a random local story instead.

Live feed!. I love news channel 3. But unfortunately, I hate that I can not watch it LIVE on my firestick like the other Memphis news apps. Why is that? I hope andate is coming soon.

Be In the Know!. This APP is fabulous. I love the text alerts also. It is truly a way to stay connected.

Okay, but.... I like the app in general and the news articles are great. However, the app always locks up while in use.

Few teases. Hate all of notification teases this app produces clogging up my phone. Have turned off all notifications and may be a step away from deleting the app. Do yourself a favor and be MORE SELECTIVE in what you push out for notifications for your own good.

New update. I HATE the new update. Why do I want to see news from 2+ years ago????? I want up-to-date news. I guess I’ll start using a different news network. This one is garbage now.

Crashing. Updated today. Now it crashes every time I open it.

WREG News #ROCKS!!!. Since Day One of downloading the WREG News App, I have thoroughly enjoyed the substance and quality of news provided.

Videos don’t play, etc. This is a terrible app. For one it wasn’t written for the iPad. They took the iphone app and stretched it to “fit” the iPad. It is distorted and terrible. Also, in the app there is a question “ Do you like the WREG app?” It’s an image and you can’t click yes or no. So they are pulling some sort of fast one over on you making you think you could rate it the app. What a joke. Finally, the ads play fine (makes them money) but videos don’t. They buffer and don’t stream at all. terrible app

Love this app. I truly love it! I keep up with the goings on In Memphis and that makes me happy! Highly recommend

Newest version of this app is terrible. Whomever takes credit for this newest version of this Channel 3 app is a very special idiot. Memphis elementary school children can design better images and functions of this app. Call me when you fix it. Because it’s so bad I ain’t staying.

Y&R. Ch 5 plays Days of Our Lives Soap @ 1:00am when it is interrupted by Trump News!!! Y’all do Not repeat so WE can Watch it.... Not great. Not great, mainly because at least half the stories posted ARE NOT LOCAL NEWS!!!

Font Too Large. This used to be the go to app for local news. Now, it’s unreadable after the last update.

Keeps freezing. Fix it

Need text of articles not just videos. Many times I find myself in situations where I cannot play a video but the segments do not include text of the video. With todays technology, it should be a no brainer to include text with video segments. Also, the only way to get out of an article with only a video is to close the app.

The layout is terrible. The app layout is terrible. The same story will appear in multiple categories such as “new” and “suggested.” I want to see a story once. I suggest a simple layout of all stories. See the AP news app for a layout that is easy to read and enjoyable

News in a flash. If something is happening that I need to know about I can pick up my phone and count on News Channel 3 covering the story.

Can’t get news to come up. Please fix this app. Cannot get past put your location or zip in.

So much better before. I feel bad, because i am sure this was meant to be an improvement, and someone worked hard on it, but i may have to find another local news app, because this feels even more like i am being programmed. Where did all of the stories/articles go?

News Mobility. My being able to stay informed of what is going on has always been a problem since I’m hardly home or anywhere a television is for me to view. Thanks to the app and its ability for instant notifications I’m kept in the loop ad to what is going on around me.

Way too many ads and click bait. 👎🏼. The worst.

No Return to Top Page. Need a return to the top of the page, while scrolling articles. Latest update has video that freezes up and the only way to fix is to close app and restart the app. On the weekend the app rarely refreshes news items.

You’ve ruined it!. The update this morning has completely changed the format of this app. I used it because as a senior citizen it was easy to read the stories but now everything is in small print and so close together that I can no longer enjoy this app.

Great News. #1 in Memphis!

Super Glitchy. This app gets stuck more than it works. Newest phone and all. Always been a problem. No other app problems but this one. FIX YOUR STUFF !!!!!!!!

Does not update well. The new version does not up date automatically well. I find myself having. To stop the app and restart it to get an update.

Best News In Memphis!. I watch WREG in the morning, noon, evening and night. It’s more informative and accurate in providing what’s happening local! I love the service it provides! Thanks WREG!

Hardly functional. I'm writing this review during a severe weather situation and the live stream continues to freeze or turn off altogether. There's a higher ad to stream ratio, in an emergency situation I do not want to know about car insurance. I've given this a two star since it's not entirely useless but an absolute headache to deal with. Turning my device sideways resets the stream, which every time this occurs I have to watch another 15 second ad. I'm very disappointed.

So many ads. This app has so many ads that I literally can’t see the article.

ADVERTISING HEAVEN‼️‼️. This app is nothing more than an ADVERTISING platform with a few news story’s sprinkled in to make it legit. It’s a 5 star ad platform and a zero stars NEWS platform‼️ Television news apps are supposed to be a service to the community NOT a source of $$$$ to the station owner, in this case, NEXSTAR.

Storms. News Channel 3, don’t watch it, the weather guys are really really bad. Most weather reporting is essential but instead of using split screens to allow regular viewing they use the entire screen. They constantly interrupt regular programming and give you the same information over and over and over. Especially Tim Simpson who does nothing through out gibberish like a teenage girl.

Fine, but. Everytime I use this app, it locks up. I have to open and close it at least 2 times before it will work.

message center. meassges center is not showing upon the app now and save stories to is not showing up

“Clicking” on ads. Your advertisers are going find out that all those clicks are not generated intentionally by your users. Just reading one story will generate as many as 4-5 web pages. As soon as I see I’m being redirected to an advertiser’s website I go right back to the story. Then later I X out every last one of them without even looking at them. Nice try.

Garbage. They don’t post news, but only click bait. Certainly not an unbiased source either. If you want actual news in Memphis, go anywhere else. Seriously, your dog will likely have more actual news about Memphis. This app and news station is a sad joke.

WREG reports news worthy stories. I was a die-hard WMC News Channel 5 viewer until a few days ago. They were getting too much like the Big Biased news media! Love WREG, never looking back.

MemphianDisappointed. No way to copy text when sharing an article, etc. APP will not let you copy text. So I don't share articles via app. Have to use link from web site. Doing away with these news app. Not user friendly. I worked with IT departments before I retired.

Needs tweaking. -Tapping on the push notification from the locked screen does not take you to the specific news story. You have to navigate the app and look for it. -Number of notifications accumulate on the app on icon until you open the app. -Excessive breaking news and/or irrelevant mews on push notifications.

Instant News & Weather. WREG provides fast and accurate information to the viewer. Especially, weather news which is very important in these parts of the South.

Sorry, sorry, sorry. Latest version may look good on smart phone, but on ipad with bigger screen it's too pic intensive. The older version with multiple news items per page, plus text to accompany it, was a much better concept.

Great App!. This app keeps me informed about local news as well as global crises. I've noticed that WREG often provides information on major world events before CNN or FOX. The news is clear, concise, and accurate. I really appreciate being able to get local news when I'm out of town. Thanks, WREG!

Awesome!!. This is the best app ever for the iPhone , especially for people from Memphis. I live in SoCal, now I can keep track of all the murders, rapes, and bad politicians in the city I love to call home. Oh, I forgot to mention the crooked cops too! Much better than eyewitness news app or going to the commercial appeal mobile website!

iPad update!!. I love the update with one exception. The app only has portrait view on the iPad now. It will not do the landscape view. Please fix this issue asap. The last version had both portrait and landscape view. At this time I can only give 4 stars. Landscape...5 stars!!!

NIX the auto video launch!. The app is very good. Breaking news timing and news story facts and details are far superior to other local news outlets. However, there needs to be an option to turn OFF the auto video launch!

#1 news in Memphis. Love the news channel 3 app this is how I get my news and up to date breaking news! The anchors and staff are great!

Notification. If I could give this app 0 I would. The notification badge never never leaves even if you completely turn your phone off then back on. It gets irritating when you've checked and it stays there for ever and never goes away.

Good App. App is very easy to use and keeps you updated on the latest news through it's notifications

Love It!. Great job, WREG! Simple and useful. Just right on the balance of features and cost. Animated radar is a premium option in most apps, if they offer it at all. I'm not missing it. The only thing I would change is to follow the strong iPhone convention of putting the "Back" button in the top left corner. It's hard to get used to it at the bottom. But that's a minor point. Thanks for another great way to follow Memphis news!

Almost there. I agree, if you would make the radar move an able to zoom in it would make this good app GREAT!!! Please update

Just like the bad WMC app. I had both channel 3 and channel 5 apps and prefered the channel 3 app because it was simpler. It was easy and quick to read news. I install this update and it's a clone of channel 5 except for the channel 3 logo. I'm deleting the update from my phone and reinstalling the previous version from iTunes. This update was a bad move.

Reinstall!. If you can't get the update to work, try deleting the app. Then, reinstall from the App Store. It fixed the problem for me.

Great update!. I am so pleased with the update! I had both of the apps like others and I only had the channel 5 app because of the animated radar. I've always enjoyed getting the weather forecast from channel 3 better than 5. Perhaps some of you folks aren't scrolling down far enough but it looks like the weekly forecast is still available. That is the same as the seven day forecast, no? : ) Now I'd just like to see older news stories only because I mainly rely on the app for my news and weather! I don't really have the time to watch you guys on tv, so this is great! Also who cares if the app is like channel 5's app, I'd still rather get my news from channel 3. GOOD JOB!

Picture error. Could someone please fix the issues when you click on the article the pictures no longer shows. It only show when you're viewing all of the articles in the list! Please this has been an issue for awhile now!

Station needs a little help but good app. Someone desperately needs to proofread. Nearly ever article has grammar mistakes. Also, they should really keep opinion out of their articles. Other than those fairly significant issues it is a good app. They are the best at sending push notifications.

Please change two little things!. I think this is a good app, however, to make it great, update the weather radar to be in motion and have a zoom-in option on the Memphis area. Those two things would make it a 5 star for me

Like this app, BUT.... I use the iPhone 4S, and functionally the app does all it should. HOWEVER, I agree with many of the other reviewers that more time should be put in on grammar and general proof reading. Spell checkers can only do so much, and bad grammar is inexcusable in an app offered by a major media source!

Not a good update. What's with the update? Now it is the same app as channel 5 in Memphis. I had them both and liked that channel 3 would display the same weekly weather as on TV. Now you display the same as channel 5. No doubt same company or person is doing them both... AND you don't even have the weekly forecast anymore.....???

DOES NOT WORK!!!. I updated this app yesterday and now I can't get it to open. It says check Internet connection. Nothing is wrong with my connection it works just fine. I loved the old app. Never had a problem with it. Please get this fixed soon. Channel 3 is the only news I watch!! Thanks!!

Notification issues.. As stated before, the notifications never reset after you open to clear them. Once the next notification comes in it picks up where it left off. I'm at over 100 notifications now.

Good, but could be GREAT!. Great for Memphians that are not chained inside the loop! You need more updated news items,ie, "WHAT" is Mayor Wharton's accomplishments while in office other than being the first black Shelby County Mayor. Keep the site updated!!

Great for the area!. I do wish there were a way to sends links to stories directly to Twitter or email. I would rate 5 stars then!

Terrible app! Won't open!. The app wont open at all. This app is terrible. Half the articles never open. Worse than that are the articles themselves. The grammar and punctuation is poor at best. I would be embarrassed if I were channel 3 to have articles so poorly written under my name.

Has potential. I like the News Channel three app as a means to get my news. However, the click bait notifications tend to get annoying--I want notifications of breaking news, not notifications promoting the news. The biggest complaint, though, are the auto-ads that redirect me to a google page. It's happening more and more often. If this continues, I'm deleting the app.

Need some changes. Please stop sending alerts for new stories that have not even been published yet in the app. Also, double check for typos… That should be a given and ridiculous that it occurs.

Notifications don't reset.. I will be deleting this app very soon if this bug is not solved. I hate looking at the app to clear the notifications, only to have to next one stack on top of the previous one. Currently I have 81 notifications from a news app. Give me a break

Stop the auto video!. I would really like to be able to use this app but it's hard to look through it without excessive scrolling. I'm not one of those people who hate all "improvements" to an app, but I believe this was made by a designer to have a cool look and not concerned with a good user experience. I do watch WREG a lot at home though.

Provides a nice quick overview. I've had the app for 2 or 3 months. I like it for the quick overview of headline news. I recently turned on the news alerts feature. I can't recommend it. I'm sorry but getting a breaking news alert that Prince William is engaged is not vital to Midsouth residents. Having the alert come at 6 a.m. made it even less appealing. Keep the breaking news alerts to Amber Alerts, natural disasters, weather events, major traffic snarls, crazed killers on the loose, etc. please.

Good app. As long as you update the news stories, this should be a great app! Change the radar to capture the last several hours of images so weather patterns can be tracked.

I used to love this app. This was my go to app for news. But for some unknown reason, it was changed. Now it is too cluttered and advertiser heavy. When I click on a story, it either won't load or will bring up some weird ad. Seriously guys, you wrecked a good thing.

I watch the news because of Richard Ransom. He's a sincere newscaster. I also play a game on WREG with 19 people - spot their typos as they have them in ALMOST EVERY NEWS CAST! Nope, no spell check.

English tutoring perhaps???. The application is very good at keeping a person up to date with occurrences in and around Memphis. My biggest complaint is about the people who write the articles. Their grammar is horrendous!!! Try using spell check or at least have someone proof read it before you publish it and attach your name to it. That is one of the most basic rules of writing. Even as I am typing this review, I am proof reading it and correcting the mistakes I make. I may be a little OCD, but it is so hard for me to read an article that is poorly written.

Notifications. Notifications show to be a number more than it actually is.

Clunky layout. The idea is nice, nothing new. Stories do not update often for some reason. As an iPhone developer, it would be nice to see the interface cleaned up and freshened.

WREG right on time with breaking news. WREG is always up to the minute every day with breaking news!

Videos. The videos have got to stop playing automatically when trying to read the news stories. You've got to allow the videos to be turned off...so annoying.

Good but.... Would like to see the formentioned requests plus the ability to see older stories. Maybe a week or so back. More than a few days for sure.

This needs some SERIOUSLY work. I am uninstalling this app as of right now. It has constant crashes. The alerts it sends are many times not even on the app. The advertising causes the pages to reset back to the top. I may be 75% through reading when the ad finally loads. Then I have to scroll all the way back down to where I was. Very frustrating to say the least.

Nice!. Exactly what i'm looking for Memphis news and weather.

Videos. Having the videos automatically load is very annoying. There needs to be a way to turn that off. Most people just want to read the stories.

The App. I really do not like the update. The old version was just much more simple. I really wish that they would give us a choice of either the classic or the new version. But, they are still ON MY SIDE!

Close. This is a good app except for one problem. They don't update the news stories well or often enough. Get that right and it jumps to 5 stars.

Needs more. I would like it to be able to upload pictures onto the web site like I can my computer.

Would rec this app. This app has no annoying ads when you open it and is easy to navigate.

Needs major improvements. I used to really love this app for keeping up with what's going on, but recently the app has been terrible. More than half of the stories will not load when I open them. Also, not a tech issue, but the grammar in these stories is horrendous. I am not a writer or an English major, but some of these stories really make me cringe because they are written so poorly. Some of them have been so poorly written that you any even decipher what it was supposed to say. Please do some updates on this app soon.
