iCloud syncs perfectly. The interface is intuitive and iCloud sync works great. You just open the app and its done. Perhaps not worth another 4 dollars being as we paid for the Mac app already.

Vertical display problem. Current version has trouble displaying the headline and preview while in portrait mode. It is scrunched up on top itself as though it is in a landscape mode, but is unreadable..

Better than Feedly but.... REALLY needs a way to sync across devices. In other words, my feeds and what articles of them I have already read should be seamless between iPad and MacBook Air.

Been hacked or something. Same as other users. Spam notifications coming through, the OSX app is fine the iOS app is compromised. Needs a fix in a big way. Had to delete.

Simple. Clean. Effective.. Use on Mac, tablet and phone. Still miss Google Reader, but this is an arguably more human approach.

Newsbar on both iOS and macOS *were*my go to rss readers. I have been an ardent fan for many years. I liked the iCloud syncing. Since the last update to iOS and macOS they have both continually crashed. I cannot even export my opml file - the app crashes when I try. It is time to try something different. 9months later I saw that the app has been updated. I decided to give it a try. While I did not suffer any issues the interface feels old and outdated compared to modern rss readers. Time has not been kind to newsbar

Paid App, Irritating Glitch. Pros: good looking interface, cloud syncing and great for reading Cons: when I click on an article it will not pull up. the screen goes blank. i have to swipe up or down to see the article i want to read. i expect better from a paid reader app.

Good, but.... I absolutely love this RSS reader but, for me, the lack of Pocket support forces me to withhold the 5 star rating. I’m sure they will add it with an update soon. Then I will revise my review.

Most used app on my phone. Does everything right and love the icloud syncing

Frequent crashes on iPad. This app looks good, but it crashes frequently on my iPad (especially with RSS preview set to off). It works fine on my iPhone, a 6+ but there is no native support for the new phones. For me on an iPad Air 2, this app is completely unusable. Very disappointing.

Looks terrible. I own NewsBar on Mac and it's lovely. However, this app is not optimized for iPhone 6S Plus in terms of screen resolution. Since it's a reader, you should update it for larger screens, not just make it compatible with the latest iOS, or at least leave an option of changing font size within the app

Good but not great. Some problems sync between devices and problems rolling text on some displays. Needs better integration with selective copy command instead of mailing whole text.

Not what I expected. The Good: imports your Google Reader Takeout file easily. Not so good: I think I'm spoiled -- I just expect "Readability" style formatting. So when this app shows me the actual web page with all its ads and junky formatting, I want to run screaming. So I can't say that this makes it a bad app, it's just not what I was expecting.

Could be better!. I have this rss feeder for my iMac and love it. I then downloaded it for iPad and love that it syncs for both. But, there is a big bug... when you turn the app in landscape, the app crashes every time. Also, sometimes news links cause the app to crash when the page loads, especially if there is a video. It would be better if the links open the page through Safari, rather than its own page within the app. Other than that. I'm very pleased and will continue to use this excellent rss app.

It works.....but.... Adding new feeds is needlessly complex, or I'm too stupid to figure it out. One thing I'm absolutely certain of, I know how to touch the screen. Yet for some reason when I roux the settings or back button it takes a few tries to hit just the right spot to get the app to react the way you think it should. Now that I've spent six (6!) hours tracking down the exact URL for every feed I follow it works fairly well. I just wish it were easier to use.

My fav reader, found fix for LTE. iCloud sync works like a charm without any registration or login, ios interface fast, simple and clean, good for everyday use. Has keywords! On LTE network, if data connection fails, Reset network settings will fix the problem: Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings

A good start, some issues. This biggest impression this app leaves on one is that it is balky, scrolling stalls often, after clicking on a story within an individual feed's listing, it oftens fail to load without clicking on another story first, then again on that story. Unlike many other iOS RSS readers, tweeting from the title listing (w summary) that appears on the right after tapping on the listed story results in an "empty" tweet. Issues.

Great for freedom from third party aggregators… UI needs a tweak. The primary issue I have that prevents me from awarding 5 stars is that when you are reading an article and scrolling it, you (I) naturally want to move the content near the top of the screen and with NewsBar, it jumps to the next article the moment the last bit of content appears at the bottom of the preview screen. You simply can't scroll the last bit of content to the top of the window. This makes no sense to me. I can think of no use case where someone is going to read every single article in their feed one after the other (in reverse historical order no less). People scroll not to move on to the next article, they scroll to see more of the article they are reading at a place that is comfortable for their eyes. Even when I scroll back to the article I was trying to read, 8 times out of 10, I still try to scroll it and end up skipping to the next article AGAIN. It's very frustrating. I bought this and the desktop app purely and only for the iCloud sync feature. I need a way to keep my rss feeds the same on mac and iOS, as well as mark as read the same on both. The GUI is not so great, and the syncing can lag a little at times, but because it does sync without requiring some aggregation service, it's a winner for me.

Notifications Missing. The Mac edition works great but iPhone app still needs work. Notifications missing and sharing options need work.

Needs iPhone 6 Plus support!!!. This is my favorite RSS reader but I can't stand how big and ugly it looks on the 6 plus! Please update it!!! Went from a 5 star app to 3 stars...

Almost quite good. Overall design is quite good and well thought out. I do have issues with the fact that too often the original story is not retrievable and refreshment of stories is inconsistent, it best.

Missing notification support. The update was stated to add Notification Center support, but I have seen no evidence of that. Newsbar cannot be found in the Notification settings and I have received none despite having keywords set up. Despite the fallacious claim, the app is excellent overall.

Great RSS!. I had been an NewsBar (Mac App) user for a while and love it. But then, I wanted to have all my content on my iPhone too while on the go. This apps are the best RSS clients ever. No ads, no accounts, it's so much better than those other ones. iCloud sync some what works and it could be enhanced and improved for live sync, iCloud sync it's the my only concern, everything else is perfect! So "Five Stars" for this App...

Simply the best!!. Updating my review: This is my fav Mac RSS app. Simple sidebar. But with this update, iPhone and iPad now have dark mode and work properly. It syncs with my Mac. The keyword setup is the best I’ve seen. One small suggestion: Please allow it to have multitasking in iOS (ie, shrink so I can place a second app on the screen). This would allow me to use Safari easily instead of the built in app. Currently, using safari as your reader takes you completely out of the app.

A good Google Reader replacement. I downloaded both the Mac and iPhone apps and so far so good. Seems to be very responsive and keeps my feeds in sync. One thing to note is that if you want to authenticate to your Google Reader account, I don't think you can do that in the iOS app. It worked perfectly in the Mac app though and even pulled over all my favorited articles. And then as soon as I went to the iPhone app, they were all there do to the magic of iCloud. I've been a long time Reeder user and the different UI will take a bit of getting used to on the iPhone and Mac sides, but so far it seems to be a very capable replacement. And since it uses iCloud there's no worry about another third party deciding to pull support for their syncing server.

Because iCloud integration. The iCloud integration is the strong point of NewsBar. I use Mac, iPhone, and iPad. After Google Reader went away, NewsBar was (and is) the right answer for me because it lets me sync the newsfeeds on my devices using a service I already have.

Good app. Only a few wants.. This is the only RSS news app I've found that gets it done on both OS X and IOS platforms. Check out Thea's app: as slick as this one. Only two wants: story post time should reflect actual age of story IMHO, not time story was DL'd. Also, an app icon badge reflecting new stories available would be great, however this might require excess battery power to keep tabs. Some RSS apps I've used can do this. With no noticeable drain.

Best Way To Keep Current. I bought the desktop app a while ago and have been eagerly awaiting the release of the iPad app. So far i love it. It has an intuitive, easy to use, clean looking interface. The cloud sync and app design makes it worth the money for me.

Starts My Day. This is a great app! It's the first app I look at in the morning. I love the iCloud syncing feature.

Great app. I use this app everyday to get streaming RSS feeds on market news involving domestic and international activities. Well designed for iPhone and iPad. I only recommend one thing, the iPad version should have dual column RSS feeds as an option - sort of like tweet deck.

Great App, Small Bug. This is a fantastic app! I highly recommend it. Just seeing a small bug - quite a few crashes after the last update when tapping to open the full article.

The app is compromised. I have been using this app for some time now. Recently, my Notification Center is being bombarded with porn spam messages. I manually check all my feeds on a computer and they are clean. I have tried reaching out to the developer and no response; the developer is MIA. I’m going to park this app for an updated one. This review is intended to warn others that the app is outdated and may have been compromised.

Very nice rss. For a new rss reader this is a highly polished app. Do not hesitate on the price it is worth your money. I love how it syncs with the Mac version and it feels seamless.

New problems. As someone else is complaining, I find myself rereading on different devices. I don’t recall that happening before. More distressingly, I’m getting push notifications (but no actual news items) from NewsBar on my iPhone, claiming to be ads from local prostitutes.

iCould sync not working. After installing the latest update, I have no news feed and I looks like it doesn't sync at all with icloud.

Super clean / intuitive. I love the way it syncs with the Mac version and it looks clean on iPhone / iPad / Mac... Definitely streamlining how I find my news.

Notifications needed. Would rate this as four stars if integration with the iOS notification center was included. Would love to be able to see how many RSS entries are new without having to open the app every time.

Good reader. No clear and easy way to mark articles as read when looking at list of unread articles. Good reader though and syncs well with my MBP and iPad.

Great RSS app!!!. This app is a pleasure to use and the devs are very responsive and helpful. I love the ability to set keywords and alerts as well as the ability to fine-tune the refresh rate, text color, background color and more, for each feed individually. There are many options to adjust the appearance. And the design makes reading my feeds easier and faster.

Best rss app I've found. I love this app. Great app on the iPhone and I love that there is a companion app on my MacBook. The syncing both apps together is a great feature.

Once great. Now annoying.. This used to be my favorite rss reader. The recent update, however, introduced a bevy of bugs, from display/formatting issues to frequent crashes (brought about by something as simple as changing a setting or tapping a headline). Really disappointed. Feedly app is looking pretty good at this point, and gives me everything I need.

Nice transition from Google Reader. Like others i needed find replacement for google reader and settled on newsbar. I picked up both mac and ios versions and icloud sync works well. I find myself using ios version as i like to see sites in list form. Response of the app is very good and gestures work as they should. Gave app 4 stars for two reasons. First is i find myself having to kill the app from time to time and relaunching to see which sites have unread articles. Second is no way to reorder which is frustrating when adding a new site and things are not sorted alphabetically. Making the adjustment on mac app and syncing back is my work around. Would like to see in future update the ability to determine how often feeds are refreshed even if its at expense of battery life.

Can't log in to Twitter. No support, either.... Love the Mac app, but this one is a disappointment. Not only is Twitter login non-functional, but email to support has gone unanswered for days.

Pretty Good But Could Be Better. Pretty good RSS reader. Easy to use and the iCloud sync works. There are a couple issues, but the big one is you have to pause on an item for 3 seconds to have it marked as read. This is fine if you are actually interested in the item, but if you aren't and just flick to the next one, it will remain unread. If you just read a few items at a time, you'll end up with bunches of uninteresting items all over the place until you mark the entire list as read.

The best news app RSS feed. This app is very very well designed, and I am a bit picky when it comes to apps. Very intuitive and great features and clean layout that makes it easy and pleasurable to scroll through the news. Wonderful job ladies and gents.

😒Doesn't work. Well, I plunked down cash for this and the companion mac app. Logged in to feedly on the mac, got that to work and this is supposed to sync but nothing. My feeds are empty. And now the mac app keeps crashing too so it's totally useless. Deleted both and am going back to the trusty Reeder2.

smooth app. love that it syncs the list with osx over iCloud.. i just wish it would sync which articles were read already. so i don't have to see them again. maybe next version!

Great First Version. Overall I'm very pleased with Newsbar as a Google Reader/Reeder replacement. I really miss the Readability and Pocket/Instagram/Evernote integration. Please consider it for the next version along with an iPad version.

Twitter login non-functional on iPhone XS Max + iOS 12.1.1. Is this a known issue? I’ve deleted and reinstalled, but problem persists.

Fix this app, please.. Newsbar is great for what it is. However, it would be a much better program if I didn't have to play "babysitter" across multiple apple devices. I use iCloud for multiple cross-functional programs and Newsbar is the only program I have issues with. That is, if I view/read a Newsbar article on one device, then that action should be represented across all iCloud connected devices. Sometimes it works great while other times it does not. Please fix this. Thanks!

Works, needs a couple of extra features.. This seems to be the only RSS reader that can sync between devices using iCloud, rather than requiring the user to pay for a third party sync service. The sync works, but it feels laggy at times. Switching quickly between iPad / iPhone can result in read items on one showing up as unread on the other. The app would benefit from a visual indicator to show when sync is happening. A dark / night mode theme would be a welcome addition as all the bright white can get retina-searing on a big screen. There seems to be a bug in the current version with the built in webview - opening an article's webpage, causes previously read items to be reinserted into the feed, after the item you've just read, when returning to article list view.

Good starting point. Been waiting for the iOS version for a while and glad it's finally here. Hoping for keyword push notification to be implemented in a future update.

Everything Covered!. Finally a RSS reader that has everything I need; solid feed reader, keyword filter, background refresh and notifications! Excellent app to tell me when new items arrive that meets my criteria. Well done! Would love next version to have ability to change the sound in notification centre, to make new items even more obvious. Thanks.

Needs Work since iOS 11.4 release. Currently does not seem to be able to retain new feeds, as well as presenting http://null and not allowing a delete.

Feeds gone. NewBar has been working adequately for quite some time but seems to have “lost touch” with the world. About 2 weeks ago my OS X version of NewsBar stopped updating. Today I’ve noticed the same in my iOS version. No idea what’s happened since it had been working well. I’ve sent in trouble reports.

Syncs well, nice design. I use this with my phone, iPad and computer, and love it!

No notifications in IOS 8 :(. I liked this app in IOS7, but now that it does not work with notification control in IOS 8, it's a bit pointless.

Good, but wanted more. The app runs great, but I wanted to run feeds through kijiji, which it isn't capable of doing, but many other apps are.

Crashes repeatedly. Under ios8.02 this app crashes repeatedly. Too annoying to use.... I hope some one fixes it or apple pulls it!

Outdated. This app hasn't been updated for larger screens. The text is massive on iPhone 6s Plus. Needs custom font sizing, and readability viewing to cut down on the clutter

Was great, now not so much. My iCloud sync has stopped working, rendering the product's main feature useless. I just hope it gets fixed soon.

Broken in iOS7. No customer support.. Like many, I purchased this app and the related Mac app when Google reader went away. I had a question pre iOS7, and emailed support for this app. I never heard back from them. And now, as many have reported, it is broken in iOS7 and unusable. I hope an update comes out soon. In the mean time, they still never answered my support question and I am actively looking for another app to replace this one.

Use this reader. First of all, I really like this reader. Use iOS and desktop versions. Since I updated my iOS to 8.0, reader links from sites bring up the podcast app, and not this one. Cannot figure out why.

Great App. No accounts needed, syncs with iCloud, and has a wonderful desktop equivalent. I love this app.

It does almost nothing of the things it claims. I had bought this specifically for the notification feature and it does not work.

Sync is a joke. Sync takes forever and often doesn’t sync properly to the Mac client. Very let down.

Please update!!!. It wasn’t updated for iPhone 7plus, no push 3D support and now no support for iPhone X larger display. Please update! I use this app daily. Thank you.

Needs pocket/instapaper integration. iCloud sync works well and app looks good. But won't use this app without one-touch sending to Pocket. Hope you can add that devs.

Wonky. Can't add new feeds via "+", Safari, or import OPML (xml). Using "+" causes app to crash. Waste of $2.99.

Sir Crashes A lot !. I really like this app but....it's constantly crashing! I have the first IPad mini running iOS 7. I have read there are many problems with apps crashing with ios7. A fix gets it to five stars.

Needs a Dark Mode.. Not a bad app, but for now I'm continuing to use Reeder.

Great App, Way Too Much Storage. Have this for both iOS and OS X and it is a great, non-intrusive RSS manager. Only gripe? It takes up an inexplicable 1.2G of iCloud storage. Whaaaa'?
