Dislike the new update. The new update for the Reuters app is cumbersome and creates choices I wish I never had to make. I used this app because it gave a good quick summary of the headlines. I don’t want my news grouped by artificial categories. I certainly don’t want to choose the categories I want to follow in a ‘feed’ format. For me the app is unusable in its current form and it feels like ads have taken over ( not sure if the number of ads has changed but the layout is so much worse). I wish I could continue using the old app. If I wanted a ‘news feed’ style of app there are far better ones. The great thing about the old app is that it limited your choices to important ones. I will not be using this app anytime soon. :(

The best news app - NO fake news here!. This Reuters application presents the best, unbiased news on a daily basis. It serves it up and we could category should I can find what I want to read about. It is 100 times better than either CNN or Fox or MSNBC where you get 99% biased editorial and 1% real news. Let alone some of the fake stuff that CNN pushes out the doors now a days. I am huge Reuters fan really glad that they have the integrity to break the news to us, unbiased, and unfiltered.!

Where did the region versions go?. I tend to agree with many reviewers that the new layout is shiny but less functional for a quick scan. What really irks me however, is that there is no longer an option to select your region. The main annoyance is that people living in Europe are bombarded with American football and baseball stories in a section entitled “global sports”. I and most other non-US based people have zero interest in these games. Less trivial is the skewing of the news stories we see: it was nice to get more stories that reflected the interests of the international audience rather than being somewhat US focused. Still, Reuters is one of the few sources I go to for quality unbiased news.

Thank you for bringing back the read offline option, but it doesn't work as it should. Edit:I'm cautiously optimistic that the new update may have improved things, I'm changing my review to 5 stars pending further problems. I like this news app, I think it's one of the better ones in terms of content, but the read offline option leaves much to be desired and the app was much better before the redesign.

If you’re looking for unbiased news, you found it.. Reuters is about as close to being completely unbiased as a news source can possibly get. It’s easy to spot extreme bias (ie Fox News or Huffpost). But what’s a lot harder to spot is bias in which stories are being reported on, or which views are being explained. If you find that you just can’t understand the other side’s position, or that the only possible explanation is that they’re stupid and/or evil, you need a better news source. And Reuters is it. They’re consistently rated as one of the most unbiased news sources available. Not only are they’re stories written to give both sides a voice, their choice of stories does the same thing.

You’ve ruined your app. I used to love the app on my Apple TV and phone. Since their update to the new format, it’s absolutely horrible. I have the same complaints as everyone else that are having issues and dislike the updates and new format. I’ve deleted the apps but keep coming back to the App Store to see if they’ve changed it back or at least improved it. They haven’t, so I’m leaving this review. I like Reuters and hope their app development team can get it together and fix this. I’m sure with everyone that has deleted the app, they’ve noticed. Update: The Apple TV version of the app is no longer available, at least at the moment. If you delete the app, which I did, and then go back later to see if it’s been improved yet, it’s not available for download. Reuters, is this about money? If you need to charge a modest fee to bring back that app that worked and had a great format, I would pay. Key words being ‘modest fee’.

Mostly Old News. App is littered with old news. Example: Energy is a topic to choose when you first use the app and build a feed of content. But if you go to the Energy section, you quickly see “Editor’s Choice” articles from 10+ months ago. Scroll down, and you may (if you’re lucky) find an article or two within the past month, but it’s mostly old stuff. Which is funny, as Reuter’s writes multiple articles per day on crude oil markets alone, let alone other areas of Energy. I emailed them multiple times on this via their app customer service, only to get a “Thanks” from them. Months later, nothing fixed. What’s the point of caring to read their articles if they don’t care if you read them?

Reliable News Source (But App Needs Work). Reuters is one of the most reliable sources of news and information. However, I ask the app programmers/maintainers: do you actually test the app? Do you actually use it daily? It is not a good user experience when the feed sporadically refreshes and either the article I was about to read disappears or the feed jumps back to the top. How did that kind of UI glitch pass testing? I would suggest trying to make the feed more stable and let the user decide when to refresh (we can see how many minutes/hours old the stories are). Don’t yank away a story I was keen to read and hide it deep in the hidden layers. Your advertisers undoubtedly prefer engagement rather than enragement, right?

Great news service, horrible app. The last Reuters app was far better. Then they updated the service and now your phone automatically goes to sleep while a video is playing so you must keep it active. Sometimes it stays awake sometimes it doesn't. Very buggy. You can also no longer watch a video in the background you must stay on the app or the video pauses. Very annoying since the update. Shame because I used to watch (more listen in the background) to their news every morning.

Better before recent update. I like the news articles and Reuters fairly unbiased reporting. However, ever since a somewhat recent update, there’s a glitch that randomly flips me back to the top of the news feed as I scroll through, which is very annoying. The home page organization also changed, leading to several stories being listed in multiple sections. I also can’t figure out how to configure the home page content, so I’m seeing stories from areas I have little interest in. I much preferred the previous layout and organization, that one I rated 5 stars.

Bring back the Top News. I first want to say I trust Reuters over any other news outlet. They provide comprehensive and factual news without the bias of most other sites. That being said, there version 5.0 changed the way I have to get my news. They have removed all the tabs and customization options that was at the top and replaced with a default side style. The problem is, I would just look at top news from everywhere. That is now gone with no way to view all top news. I don't want to focus solely on region based news as some stuff will get missed. Please bring back our choices.

New layout is a bad Facebook knockoff. I wish I had read the latest reviews before updating, because I would have skipped the update if I had had any idea what I would get. The new "feed" looks like a Facebook feed, minus any of the customizations and interactive elements that redeem Facebook's fugliness. Believe it or not, I use Reuters because it's not Facebook, and I thought it had no aspirations of becoming Facebook. I hope this update will get canned, and the old, better, more compact layout will return--or, at least, that we will be given the option to use it instead--because I really don't see myself using the app much if it stays like this.

Sigh.... I am one of those ignored moderates in the middle wishing for political sanity. I started using this app because I am desperate for an unbiased news source. While I don’t believe that exists anywhere, the stories captured in this app were at least not as blatantly biased. Well, that is until recently. Today was the last straw. Every article I read was biased to the extreme left whether there was a political slant to the story or not. For the most part, I have given up on all news because it isn’t news. It is someone telling me how I should think. You can’t even avoid it by not reading any political stories because it is pervasive in all stories. Can we please just get the facts and leave the news corporation and editor’s opinions out? Tell stories that reflect life from all angles and stop beating us over the head with how you want us to think? Unfortunately this is another ‘news’ app I will have to delete.

Make reuters tv downloadable 30min podcast. This app is great but specifically for the Reuters TV, which are around 2min clips of about 15 different news stories around the world and has around 30 mins of diverse news stories. Fast, simple, fair, reports on a lot of international stories too. I wish this could be made into a 30 min downloadable podcast on the go when internet isn't accesible. As of now I treat ReutersTV as my morning podcast, beats any current news podcast to cover stories on all industries/regions

Videos are poor quality. Overall this is a solid app but I just want to bring attention to the absurd situation with the daily video briefing. It used to be that you could watch the videos no problem. But one day Reuters seeks to have determined that they would rather not show videos that may have brief and occasional buffering. So now, while I watch the daily news briefing in the exact same spot I have been for awhile, every morning I’m prompted that I can only listen to the audio without video until my connection improves. The thing is, this is occurring in the same spot (on my couch) I use my computer and iPhone in for other stuff and I consistently have a strong WiFi connection. It is so annoying not being able to see the videos. It’s like I’m listening to the radio but I’m not driving so I have nothing to look at. Bottom line: don’t be so anal. I would MUCH rather have a few instances of mild buffering than have to stare at a screen that’s essentially blank. Frankly, Reuters is a superb news organization and I’m generally very satisfied with the app. I’d say it’s 4-4.5 stars in reality but I want to get this issue some attention and they aren’t going to pay as much attention to a 4 star review.

Good but not great. I like the collection of articles. What I find frustrating is that notifications don’t link to the stories. I get the notification, click on it, and it takes me to the general news screen, with no sign of the story they sent me the notification for. And often the news there is outdated. Example- I get a notification that Congress has passed the stimulus bill about a little while ago (it’s 2pm). Click on it, the app opens, and the only thing in the list of stories is one from 6am saying it’s expected to pass today. Had to go to the CNN app to find an actual news story on how it went down and the outcome. I’m turning off notifications because they’re worthless.

Please bring back my favorite news app. Reuters has been my favorite news app for the past few years, what used to be a 5 star app that I read it every single day, but I’ve had major issues with the app recently. The Reuters TV video part of the app no longer works and hasn’t for about a month. It has audio, but no video at all, saying “Poor Connection. Playing audio only until connection improves”. My connections has never changed, and videos from my other apps work just fine, only the Reuters app updates have changed, so there in lies the problem. My other issue is the political coverage seems to be leaning more and more to the left. I’m a moderate and used to be very comfortable with Reuters political coverage. Non-bias coverage is very important to me with all the Fox News/MSNBC bias crap out there that they call “news”. The main reason I’ve enjoyed Reuters app for the past few years is because my goal is to be informed, not programed. I’ve never been a conservative nor one of these conservatives who complain about “liberal media”, but I do want fair and balanced reporting. Please fix these problems so I don’t have to go searching for another news app to make my “go to app” when my Reuters app used to be great and 5 stars.

Amended review. The bug fixes of the most recent update do indeed solve the issues I had. This is a pleasure to use again. [Original Note] This [previous] update makes it nearly impossible to get a smooth feed of news. Scrolling down ‘the Wire’, whenever it loads new stories the display scrolls wildly and then you have to go back up and try to figure out what you were looking at previously. Could you just go back to something that actually works?

So much for balanced journalism … leaning more and more to the left. After POTUS Trump left office, Reuters held a more moderate (moderate left) journalistic approach (they nicely stated where they were taking information … from a left think tank or other … point is they were straightforward sharing but still tried to show a balanced approach) although over the last 4 months everything is going left. Headlines aren’t factual but rather consistently take a swipe at former POTUS Trump. I find it funny that journalists can’t let the facts speak for themselves. If Reuters can’t right itself back to a “moderate” left, it’ll be deleted off my iPhone. I’ll have to look for a new more “balanced” news app. This “seemed” to be (at that time) “balanced” even though it was still left. The fact that Reuters feels they need to slide further to the left in their journalism may say something about how POTUS Biden is doing. Either way, it’d be great if there was a news app that provided the facts and left the “entertainment pushing agendas” to another platform. It’s useless and only tarnishes the character of the News media.

If it ain’t broken.... I’m not a fan of the new redesign at all. I feel like I’ve lost the concise simplicity that matched Reuters’ factual, no-nonsense reporting that’s free of the sensationalism that the other news networks are rife with. Folks- the app was perfectly fine. Lucky for you, your reporting is the only fact-based, non-sensationalized outfit out there, or this confounding new design would have been enough to lose my loyalty. Please rethink this design and leave the option of something close to the old layout available to those of us who just want to know what’s occurring in the world without it being turned into a soap opera.

Good except for the ads and a fault search function. I have loved this app for all of my news needs, but my few complaints include how sensitive the ads are to touch, and a faulty search function. I have literally looked up an article by the title word-for-word and it couldn’t find it. If it can’t find it then it sends you other top articles that may not even have anything to do with what you’re searching for. It’s quite an annoying feature when you’re trying to find out about something from the source you trust the most, but don’t have time to sift through article after article just to find it. Wish you would fix this issue. Anyways, thanks for the great journalism, Reuters. Just wish your app was a little better.

Reuter’s briefing video works again, hooray. Update: a friend with previously the same issue of briefing video in the Reuter’s app not working anymore told me to give it another try. To my delight, my phone app plays video again (and in great quality). Thank you for fixing the issue!!! Old review: Apple iPhone 11 with the latest iOS updates. As of February no more ability to watch the briefing on the phone. Sure, i can watch Reuter’s video on the desktop or laptop with the same WiFi connection, or even by using my cell connection as a Hotspot (which the Reuters app falsely tells me it’s not good enough to watch video!!!!), but the briefing function is only available on the app. It’s now middle of April and the video still does not work. I’ve moved on despite still believing in your neutral reporting— many negative reviews about your content is from people that don’t realize how far to the right their other consumed media has pushed them.

Beautiful presentation of the top news stories. If you only have one daily news source make it this app. Great app that loads quickly and problem free. I use the iPhone app as well but the iPad version with a great video summation gets my vote. If you are a cable cutter like me, Reuters presents the top news stories of the United States and the world. I was lacking solid news sources from radio, television and print so this app fills the gap of ‘what’s going on now’ news information gap. THIS is true journalism without leaning neither left nor right. No human source can ever be completely free of opinion or emotion, but Reuters does their best. 5 Star! Thanks Developers and Reuters!

Once it crashes it never runs right again -even if reinstalled. This was my main news app for about a year then after it crashed (on 2 of my devices) it now crashes upon startup. This persists even though I have removed both the app and its data many times and reinstall it - it never get beyond flashing the Zuckerberg pic and failing back to IOS at the beginning of setting up your feed. The developer needs to ensure the app store side is cleared when reinstalling, BECAUSE THE ICLOUD WITH ARROW STILL SHOWS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE DELETED BOTH THE APP AND ALL OF ITS DATA IN SETTINGS. Now I can never use this app again. The Apple Forums when asked about how to clear the it from this device and app store said to contact the developer, but Reuters is not listening. This is on IOS 14. Reuters needs to get their act together and fix this problem.

Uses CPU on iPhone. I like this app and I also prefer Reuters for my news source. Since updating though I have noticed while having the app open for an extended period my phone gets warm and the app begins to have issues scrolling content. Scrolling is very jittery like you would experience when a computer processor pegged at max. I have an iPhone 12 and have noticed this on cellular so far. If I switch to another app everything is fine and when I close the Reuters app my phone eventually cools down.

Good stuff. Pretty business heavy. Kinda 'liberal' centric. But a lot less drama and unnecessary flair in their reporting conspired to most other news organizations. I use this app every day. If CNN or Fox News gives you a headache switch to Reuters. Reuters' reporters all seem like normal chill people that try to report details. It's very unlike CNN or Fox which use fake charisma to try to sway your opinion because they think they can herd you like a sheep. If you have an Apple TV get their TV app. It's awesome.

Becoming more and more biased. I used to love this app because they seem to be more unbiased with the news reporting than other major news networks. But now they they skew to the left. I’m not on the right, but I want one major news network to be unbiased...I don’t think that’ll ever happen. I shouldn’t be told what to think, I just want the news as objective as possible. They only show long form discussions for democratas than other parties, headings/titles are misleading, only show certain stories and ignore others to promote a particular agenda, and they burry relevant counter argument details deep in articles so no one sees them. Journalism is now activism.

Good articles but advertisement hair trigger. I’d give Reuters 5 stars for the overall quality of their reporting (to-the-point, relatively unbiased, often first on the scene, & very high-impact headlines - I read every day multiple times a day) but they lose one for the ads on this platform. Not because there are ads - this is understandable - but because I barely touch one (usually this happens if I have my finger on one as I scroll) and I’m suddenly redirected out of the article I’m trying to read, or away from the homepage. I never experience this with any other apps or in-browser. It’s not my thumb. It’s not my phone. It’s clearly something about this app and it’s irritating enough to get this review out of me.

Better than Blackboard!!!. Our campus is piloting Canvas this semester (Fall 2018) as a replacement for Blackboard. And, from a student's perspective, the Canvas mobile app and service overall is MUCH more useful and accessible than the other system. Really enjoying it. The layout is intuitive and a delight to use. Mobile notifications always seem to work. And there is continuity between the web and mobile applications, which just makes sense. These things can't be said about Blackboard's apps. Looking forward to continuing to use Canvas as a graduate student. Thank you!

Wish I hadn’t updated.... This was my go-to news app and I’d have easily given it 5 stars before the update. Before, everything was compact and easy to scroll through. It made getting a fast rundown of the current news super easy. Now, that’s totally gone. The pictures are huge. The headlines are just as large. It’s a lot of wasted space that requires you to spend time sifting through and scrolling from here to eternity to see everything. And rather than just have the top headlines, it forces you to customize the feed. That’s fine for a secondary feed but sometimes you just want all the current headlines in one place. Update: I downgraded from two stars to one because the more I use this new version, the more I hate it. Please go back to the old design!

Go back to the old layout!. The Reuters app has been my go-to source for news for the last few years. I’ve always like the concise, well-edited, well reported stories. Until this version I also liked the efficient, economical presentation in the app. I could quickly scan the headlines to assess the state of the world, and then click through the stories of particular interest to me. The new layout is clearly designed for people who have a lot of time to waste. Big pictures and text give you ~1 story per screen. A lot of swiping to get a summary of the news that you got in a glance with the old format. I also don’t like the new approach to customization and filtering. The previous version gave me a simple panel with check boxes to choose the news categories I want to see. The new app keeps trying to “engage” with me in various ways. If I want to have a conversation, I’ll call a friend. I hate the trend in news apps toward Facebook-like news feeds. I’m considering deleting the app and just using the web version instead.

Bad "upgrade". What I loved about Reuters was the clean, no nonsense, to the point, view of the news. The app was awesome! It was easy to use, without clutter and with tightly packed information. The new "upgrade" is just the opposite! It seems more oriented toward delivering commercials than content. A lot of empty space (absolute no-no for a small screen device like smartphone). The stories seem all over the place. It is such a pity because Reuters was a major new source for me that I could trust. Such trust is hard to build, especially today. Update: The app is getting worse. After the latest upgrade articles are not always complete - just a paragraph or two and then white screen. App restart sometimes help.

Don't update if you prefer a more compact layout. I made the mistake of updating without researching the new version first. The previous version had a much more compact layout without huge pictures, and you could easily scroll through the articles. The new layout has huge pictures, and you have to scroll a lot and click on different tab sections to see the articles. Even with text-only mode selected, each headline still takes a large amount of space, and only a few headlines are displayed in each section before you have to click "more", which takes you to a page that's once again filled with pictures. Basically, text-only applies to the Home page only, and even then, there are still enormous ads with pictures. It would be much better if text-only applied to everything except for individual articles. With the new version, you have to scroll and click A LOT to see the articles, which is painful. For me, the old version was much better, where I could see a large amount of headlines at-a-glance. I wish I hadn't updated. I've now switched to using a prominent competitor's app which has a more compact layout, though not as good as the previous version of this app.

New version annoying in its behavior. The app pushed an update (50.0.0) which has at least a couple of annoyances. It now requires two taps instead of one to return to ‘home.’ This kind of change is contrary to good usability. Worse, the app keeps jumping to the top of the headlines page when you’re looking at the headlines, apparently in response to headline updates, requiring the viewer to scroll down again to find their place. This often happens to me at least twice while I’m looking over the headlines. This is maddening and should be corrected.

Great Update. Version 4.0 is a great update since it addresses a main issue: the high quantity of articles. Articles are better organized into customizable categories, and the editor’s pick sections highlight important news stories. Few suggestion: landscape mode on iPad and better information about stocks such as the company’s financials. The website version has better information about companies, including six sections: overview, news, key developments, people, charts, and financials. Hopefully, these sections will be in the app version in forthcoming updates. Currently, the news articles about the stock are very irrelevant. The news articles for a stock should be better aggregated. I look forward to forthcoming updates.

Good new update, ugly font for body, annoying ads. This new redesign is great. The app has much more utility now and is becoming the only news app I use. The only gripe I have are ads and the font for the bodies of articles. The giant block ads in the middle of articles are the worst types of ads any app can have. The ads on this app make me really want to find an alternative with more reasonable advertisements. I might start using safari to browse Reuters with my adblock. The second gripe I have is the font. I'm not a font expert but something about the font for the bodies of articles seems terribly out of place. The font doesn't match the aesthetic of the app at all. I don't even think it matches the font used on the Reuters website.

Video never plays. I have used the app for years; and suddenly videos no longer play. I try to watch in my home on WiFi, or anywhere and the app just has an error where the video should be, claiming the signal is too weak so only audio will render. I have a strong signal, and no issue with any other video players. I looked to see if there is a setting on the app for video quality; there is not. This is ridiculous, and very annoying. This used to be my go to app for a daily briefing, and I’ve tried to be satisfied with audio only; I am not. The stories are written for video, so refer to the video image without describing it as would be done for audio only by design. Please set the video quality threshold to a reasonable, realistic setting, or give me the control to set it myself. I never had a problem watching your videos before this restriction was added. This makes the app subpar.

Disappointed. I feel that one reason there is so much discord in our country right now is because we can all live in our own little bubbles where we are only exposed to what we want to see and hear. Part of this problem is personalization of the news, so each person only sees what they *think* will be important or interesting. I was really pleased with the Reuters app when I first started using it in part because it wasn’t personalized, just the main stories of the day. So of course I was very irritated when I opened Reuters today and found that it had updated to a version in which I had no option but to personalize my feed. We’ll see how this goes but I may have to find another news app.

What a bad app update. Literally cannot use search to find news relevant to your search term, regional categories now show global news instead of your area of interest (“China” had a news article 99.5% about Iran that was presumably slotted because of the briefest mention about China and Covid), and some categories pop up nothing with an up-down scroll but only the horizontal editor’s pick scroll. No one wants to swipe left or right looking for news they are interested in like they are on tinder. Algorithm needs fixed or AI retrained. Current version only scored the 2nd star because Reuters is hands-down the best news source. Previous version would have been a fiver from me.

Great news source - don’t like it defaulting to top. I read Reuters at least once a day and love the coverage. My one complaint is that it sporadically goes back to the top of the homepage. This happens randomly when I’m scrolling & reviewing the home page and once I click into a story from the home page - when I go back to the home page, I’m taken back to the top instead of where I was. Then I have to scroll around to find where I left off. I’m wondering if this is on purpose to get more impressions of their ads so they can claim higher numbers to charge more for ads.

Finally a not garbage news app!. THIS! This is what every news app should aspire to! Simple. Effective. It doesn’t require any more information than what news I’m interested in reading. It doesn’t bombard me with deceptive advertising or in-your-face tactics. Ads are very clearly marked, if a tad frequent. But I can’t even fault them for it, because it’s free. No nagging for approval and no BS. I couldn’t be happier with this app (and I’ve had it for less than a day). I’d honestly pay for this level of autonomy. But instead I’ll happily click on ads just to support their revenue stream. Kudos to you and your development team for making something that doesn’t uselessly raise ones blood pressure. It’s an humble, informative app and you should be proud.

Apple TV version. I watch Reuters news daily on the Apple TV at home. Recently, it was updated by Reuters and the format has changed. The new format makes no sense to me. There’s an option to watch five, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 minute news highlights. In the old version when you clicked on the 15 minute when you got 15 minutes of what the daily news is if you clicked on the 30 you got 30 minutes a little bit more in depth of the daily news. Makes sense. The new version it doesn’t matter which one you click it’s giving you about an hour worth of news. This has essentially made it worthless for me in order to catch up with a little bit of everything. I don’t understand why they changed it. There is, however, one good thing out of the update. You can now rewind and fast forward between news segments/stories. I really wish they would go back to allowing you to have more condensed version of the daily news so there in 15 minutes I can get a little bit of everything that’s going on or in 30 minutes I can get a little bit more of everything that’s going on.

A lot of bugs and editing errors. The bugs of this app are that section pages like ‘finance’ or ‘world’ will not load at all and there is sometimes the occasional crash. Not being able to even look at headlines because a section’s page won’t load is insanely frustrating since it makes the app almost worthless. Of course when I can actually see headlines and open articles there is almost always a decent amount of laughable grammatical or spelling errors. Reuters used to be a great news source, but their product the past few years has shaken my confidence in them as a viable media outlet.

Good but not great just yet.. I love most of the features this app has but after a little over a year of use I’m still disappointed the app doesn’t have the ability to play the topics of interest you add to your tabs in the Reuter’s Now stream. It would only make sense they populate after you add them, yet they don’t. It’s very frustrating that the only way to hear/watch the story reporting for topics I’m interested in is by clicking on individual articles and pressing play on the videos. I’m someone that likes to listen to news while I’m in the shower; unfortunately I can’t listen to the topics I’m most concerned about along with the preselected stories.

Used to be a five-star!. Register my info for “a more personalized experience”? Heck no! Sounds like a sales pitch, not news, to me. So I’ve deleted this app. Footnote: The previous issue from my review (below) was eventually resolved, which reminds me that I should shower praise on my favorite apps when things are good. Regrets, Reuters! You offered an excellent service for years! I usually have no trouble with the app, but like a few of the more recent reviewers, I’m running into the same issue. When I return to the headlines after reading an article in detail, I get bounced back to the top rather than scrolled down to where I left off. It’s so annoying I close Reuters and skip to another news app.

Better than most mainstream but glaring omissions in coverage. Many of the articles lack the biased narration of mainstream source so thats a definite plus. But it is shocking to see nearly no Brazil coverage (and very favorable to the communist Lula regime on the rare occasion it makes news) on whats going on: including the insane jailing of journalists, peaceful protestors, judges, and political opponents, by a president who went to jail after THREE different tribunals of judges (he himself put in place) unanimously found him guilty of massive crimes against the state. Its on par with the Iranian protests, but because its a self described socialist there isn’t much from Reuters- other than spin for this new regime, despite historic upheaval in the 12th largest economy in the world.

Highly Recommend. The news in this app covers a variety of topics and has worldwide coverage that is unbiased, factual and frequently updated. The app itself is clean, well organized and easy to navigate. However it can be improved by adding new features such as a section dedicated for photos taken by photojournalists, the ability to play videos in the background(once the app has been closed), and more information in the market data section specifically, better stock, currency, and bond tracking. Having the Reuters TV app integrated within the Reuters News app may be beneficial but, the current design in having just the Reuters TV Now section in the news app is effective as well. As a frequent user who uses this app it would be great to see a feature that removes ads by having the option to subscribe to a paid version. Overall, this is a great app with many unique features and excellent reporting. Looking forward to future updates this app will receive.

Most horrible streaming ever experienced. Click on a specific video, and you're met with bleed-over from a previous video, or you do not see the picture and audio plays, or no audio no playing, video but no audio, no playing at all, pauses, you turn up the volume and it pauses, it pauses and you're forced to restart the app only to have it all happen all over again forever and worse. Also you cannot scroll the current video unless you want to find yourself in one of the other videos very sensitively, and numerous other problems I can't think of. Most horrible experience ever experienced with a video streaming service in my entire life.

Great news source. I was seriously getting sick of the mainstream list of nonsense bias news that takes over our lives nowadays. I don’t care what side of the fence you are on, it’s annoying. When I look at the news I just wants the facts and information. I enjoy/appreciate the interviews that come along with it as well. I found this site as a fluke and couldn’t be happier. The complaints about it being “left leaning” seem to be coming from people who really don’t like hearing about trump in a bad light. Unfortunately, he does too much to keep himself in one and I feel it’s merely being reported factually here. Reuter’s does a good job of reporting it all, without bias emotion attached. Thank you.

Used to be my favorite news app. I have an iPhone and Apple TV. Reuters USED to have an Apple TV app and that was great. The last several updates on the iPhone have been terrible. I usually watch the news clips when I’m eating my breakfast in the morning. Now, every single time I try to watch the videos, they NEVER load right. I have to close out the app and reload several times to the point here I don’t want to use this app anymore. It used to be my “go to” news app that I watched everyday, but these bugs and glitches have made it so it’s not worth the effort anymore. Do better.

Why did you remove OLed black dark mode?. Why did you remove the proper black dark mode? It was way better than this crappy grey dark mode

What happened?!?!?!. I really liked Reuters, being able to find chatagories of news that interested me and easy access to them. Nof for some reason in the most recent update thats all gone! Why?!? Its what made this app different

Boring. Does everything worse than the good old Reuters Pro. Who invented that piece of trash? Fire them.

Fantastic news site. Great app to read world news as Australia only gives very little world news.

Great app. Easy to use. It's my go-to for international news stories.

Volume of Apple TV too high. Like the app particularly on Apple TV. Being able to choose a feed based on how much time u have is the killer feature. But is it really necessary to double the volume? This is on demand so u don’t have to capture people’s attention. It’s so loud! I have to turn the volume down to half every time I use the Reuters app on Apple TV, and then back up when I’m finished so I can hear the audio on other apps that are at normal volume.

Old news. Not worth the time to download. Very little real news from Australia and mostly IS centric propaganda.

The best news product unfulfilled. This is perhaps my singular most go to News app I have ever maintained years on my phone. Unfortunately, it has recently abandoned and no longer serviceable. The intelligent and honest content, it’s understandable format, quirky subtitles all appealed to me in many ways. I’m sorry to see it broken. Hope it comes back.

What were you thinking?. I loved the Reuters app. ‘The Wire’ service provided an unfiltered, general and up-to-the-minute news service which was the first thing I looked at in the morning. The upgrade has no such functionality and despite a set up dialogue implyingyou could skew to global news it defaults to Brexit and UK news with nothing else. News Alert: There are people out there for whom Brexit is not so important! My advice to current users? Don’t take the latest ‘upgrade’

Crashes every time. The most recent update keeps crashing. It doesn’t work any more, but this used to be my favourite news app.

Stuck on United States version on Apple TV. I delete & reinstall app, reset app, change settings to “International” but it keeps going back to “United States” edition!

Unstable - Doesn't Work. Used to be a good App. Now won't even start on my iPad Pro 12.9.

What happened to the “Latest News” option?. Bring it back!

Terrible!. No previews for stories and no possibility to get the sports info!! Do not get!!!

Same old article dubbed as breaking news. I’m following an event and would appreciate not having to read the same article i read 12 hours ago dubbed as breaking. If you have nothing new on the event then don’t waste my time with copy and paste repetitiveness. Still my choice of news though.

A must have news app. In the days of increasingly unreliable and biased journalism, Reuters is one of just a few that stands out as a trustworthy source. The app is good - stable, easy navigation, etc. And ReutersTV provides a customised news update (I only wish they added support for ChromeCast, as I’d use it daily - would be happy if they added an advert to cover costs)

My go to... Had a previous complaint which seemed to be resolved, thanks. This app is great overall, lots of content and the UI is customisable which is a nice touch.

True jounalism of our age. True jounalism in an age of click bait, unchecked bias and political agenda. Real news, honest report, straight fact, no unnecessary opinion, intentional bias or hints of agenda. (Better even than AP IMO) Its not perfect, but its the best newsman-ship you can find around here. May very well be the last frontier of good general public journalism.

New Single Column Format BLOWS!. Deleted it. Hate the new single column (iPhone?) format. Was the best news app on the App Store.

Complete crash and fails to load. Used to work well but crashes frequently now. Content is still good though.

No longer has up to date news. This used to be a great app, but I used it for the latest up-to-the-minute news, and it no longer offers this. On topics I follow I now regularly find the “latest” story is say, “3 weeks ago”, “1 month ago” or even longer. Only the top news feed seems to offer the latest news. As a “news” app this seems to defeat the purpose of using it. I no longer can rely on it and am considering deleting it. I emailed Reuters about this a few weeks ago, and had no reply.

Watchlist bugs. This issue has been around for months and I’ve contacted Reuters about it. When adding a stock to the watchlist it’s then not possible to get out of that page. The only fix is rebooting the phone. Please actually fix it.

Mostly out of date news. I have Reuters v 3.2.1 on my 6 year old iPad and it is quite good. The latest version on my new iPad has no breaking news less than hours old. It is a complete waste of time. The news feeds are also sometimes a day or so old. The app should be set back to a version that works.

Inaccessible. Completely useless. Doesn’t work with voiceover for blind people, despite having selected Text Only.

Unusable. Full of click bait ads, just like Apple News. Unusable

Great Content, Missing Killer Feature. I really enjoy enjoy using the app for both the articles and Reuters TV. The tag system they use to build out a feed works well and the reports are quality. The killer feature Reuters is sitting on here is their “TV” product. While it works fine on the app, they’ve completely missed the opportunity to cast or stream to a bigger screen and unless you own a Roku, I don’t believe you can do this. I would go so far as to recommend this to every single one of my friends (especially those that don’t keep themselves well-informed) if that feature were included because it’s the perfect way to get informed over breakfast or before bed. If I am mistaken please let me know, but I’d love to hear from the devs on this.

Why do I need an account. I used to love this app, but now I have to create an account which is pointless and yet another login that I have to track remember and hope doesn’t get compromised. So unfortunately I’ve deleted the app and won’t use it again, unless you drop the login requirement.

Like. Great app. Great news

Great site. Fake news? Nope. It is a straightforward news organization with non-biased reporting.

Stopped updating. All my stories are from last week even though the app is displaying the current day to me. Have tried deleting and reinstalling, updating software, etc.

Too bad…. It’s a shame that a news source like Reuters which was one of the last ones to fall has gone to the dark side… click bait, overblown headlines and a chairman tied directly to Phizer… Sad day

Add Picture in Picture support. Please add support for pip for Reuters TV.

Logging out. You want me to log in and give up info about myself? When are you idiots going to learn that people DON’T want that. So long!

Little control. The older versions of this app allow you to have much more control over your news feeds. I’m stuck looking at American centric news now and lost my ability to focus on a hashtag specific industry. Even editing something as basic as my user name is out if my control or if not isn’t blatantly obvious as it should be. Thankfully my iPad is old and the Reuters app doesn’t update. The news itself is concise and neutral. It’s the one thing that keeps me using it, but only on the old iPad app.

Laughing. To force me to buy a subscription for some free news is actually pretty funny. I’ll just move on to the next guys who have advertising to pay their bills … very laughable and a poor business model.

If you like 3 week old news........ This app is perfect for you.

Reuters tv. The Reuters tv feature/section doesn’t allow Google cast anymore. Kindly, bring that back please.

News feed unavailable regularly throughout day. I’m not sure what the issue is, but multiple times a day I receive an error that says my news feed is currently unavailable (even if I was just looking at it) and I’m unable to refresh it. Closing the app and restarting it does not resolve the issue. I really prefer Reuters’ reporting so this is disappointing.

Compatibility with Apple TV and Hompod. This app is the only one that I have that does not follow the sound setting To my HomePods. It’s very disappointing and it shouldn’t be a difficult fix. If this gets fixed I’ll change my rating.

Unable to switch to International. On the AppleTV app we have always watch the International edition. For some reason it switched to the US edition and hen we try so switch it back to International it restarts the app and it is still set to US tried deleting and reinstalling, still not working.

Registration News Letters. Used this app for almost a decade. Deleted it yesterday. Feels strange not opening it every morning. The purpose of the app is so I can access articles that I want when I want. I do not want to receive junk emails from all of you companies. Seriously gets annoying that you demand it to read further after you read a few articles. I’ll search for an app that gives me that liberty without having to give my email up. Good luck.

Demand for sign up - Now deleted. So I’ve been looking to this app as another angle in the world news. One of several apps I use to try and get a balanced news view. Today the app demanded that I “sign up” in order to continue using it. Nope! I was already being the product while using the app. Now you want me to give you access to even more data!? Nope. #*%@&$ good by loser Reuters! 🙋🏼‍♂️

Problem. How do I get Reuters news app on my phone?

News feed unavailable. App shows news feed is unavailable. No news is showing up.

Cast. Give the option to cast (chrome cast) Reuters tv onto my tv and I’ll give 5 stars.

Disclose too much info. Need to now register to read news. Registration requires unnecessary amount of information. Other free news apps out there.

Register to read?. No thanks. Used this app for years, not anymore.

Broken updates. Starts with news 2-3 and 4 weeks old! Very annoying! It seems like every update worsens the quality of the app!

Reuters are playing silly games. Or the app needs another update: once again I need to login for some reason. And the App Support link from here in the store is dead. Do I need to subscribe or something?

Any enjoyment this app provided has been overtaken by bad business decisions. 8 bigbox ads on one article now, seriously?! This along with the removing of personalized feeds has taken away any enjoyment this app once provided. I used to be a daily user and find myself now even wanting to launch it. A shame for the writers whose content I enjoy.

Review. For the next update can you please add a setting to have stories be chronological? Also, with the new update, every time you open a story then go back, it sends you back to the top of the page

App becoming buggy. The app has become buggy off late. There is always an error message showing that the news feed is unavailable even though the news feed is visible. Sometimes the news feed is not available at all. I have been using the app for years and it’s never been this bad performance wise

Mike. My daily news source. Clean and effective app.

Bring back Reuters TV app. Times were better with the standalone Reuters TV app. The integrated TV tab in this app has sound playing, but the picture is black. I’ve tried reinstalling several times already. Just disappointed.

Loved it until last update. This was always my first read of the day. With so few real news options out there you have lead the way with great reporting that are always factual. Now you have complicated the app so no more Reuters on my devices. Go back please!!!

still my main source of news. I’ve been using the app for years and it’s still my first choice for a quick breakdown of current events but please fix it so I don’t have to sign in every two weeks just to read the articles it was never like that before and I find it completely unnecessary for a free app at the very least just don’t sign me out unless I do it myself- hopefully an update is on the way

TV App. I used to use the separate Reuters TV App for my daily news updates, but as of August 2022 that no longer works properly (it now displays a "No Internet Connection" error). This wouldn't be an issue if the integrated TV app functionality here in the main Reuters app would actually let me cast the stream TO my TV. In its current state I might as well just use the website, thus rendering the whole point of merging the two apps moot.

New Reuters. Doesn’t open.. stays black!

Flicking back to the top of the page every 30 seconds is ANNOYING. Can’t you fix that? I am constantly rereading because your APP goes back to the top of page at random intervals. Do have any idea how annoying that is? Try reading your own news, you will quickly see what I mean.

Top Story: your personalized news feed is unavailable. Actually, it’s the only story when I open this app.

Bring back the old version. I avoided updating until recently. What a disappointment! Bring back the old version PLEASE.

Omg Yesssssss. This app show you all important info of financial report of compagny!

What about “how much time do you have?”. I used to love the option for a 5, 10, 15, or 30 minute news summary on the TV app. Now it doesn’t work at all on the TV and the mobile app doesn’t even have this feature? Disappointing.

New version gives me less news. Why did you voluntarily give up one of your strengths? You’ve updated the app & now require that I filter the feed using known interests. I understand the potential benefits of customization. But now you’re preventing me from learning about topics that I don’t yet know about. This is one of the reasons that I use your service. You could consider filtering in reverse. Send me everything, yet allow me to exclude certain feeds. Perhaps I don’t wish to follow sports & entertainment via Reuters. But I did appreciate learning about the unexpected. Sadly, for me, you’ve just given up one of your, former, strengths.

Kept going back to top page. Please fix your app it’s kept going back to top of the page at random intervals. It’s so annoying.

Must register to read. After many years of free reading they changed the app last month so you now need to sign up for an account to read anything at all. They call it “registration enhancement”. Overly complicated, clear information grab.

Videos. The video streaming sucks. It is so slow even if I have a connection of more than 20MBPS download and upload speed.

Awful honestly. This app is an embarrassment for such a large corporation. It's glitchy, crashes, requires you to sign back in very often. Every single news article also has a typo, if they can't be trusted to ever spell properly how can we trust the content is accurate....

Disappointing. Great news source! Really dumb update!! (design, layout) Bring back the old one!!!

Left wing propaganda.. If you like that sort of thing. Reporting on agendas. Have to weed through much of the agenda driven “news” to get to the factual truth. Follow the $$$.

Easy to use and read often.. Non biased news source. It needs a bit more Canadian content.

Fix the search please. The search engine of the app is garbage. Please fix it.

Great app, new update is terrible.. I love using this app before but with the new update it keep automatically pushing me to the top of the section making reading any story but the newest story very difficult. Please bring back the old update with the orange button allowing you to bring in the new stories.

What have they done? Hate the new app!. Used to be my favourite news app, clean and lean. Headline page of five or six articles. Then the feed, constantly updating. Easy to scroll down pick then a well written article. A natural way to scan and select the articles of interest. Five or six articles to be seen in the screen could be easily scrolled and view more. Similar to the way one used to read a newspaper page. A quick scan to find what you’re interested in. I began my daily news binge with Reuters. Soon as I read they were updating the app, I feared the worst. Sadly, I couldn’t imagine how bad it could be. A bloated behemoth. Difficult and slow to use. Lots of big photographs with a little bit of information and thus boring and cumbersome to scroll. Way too many redundant sections with often blending of articles. Now a long way behind google news and Flipboard, which they badly tried to copy. Personalized? I wish I could personalize it back to the old one. Sorry Reuters news app, you’ve been moved to the back. Sad, as a certain president is wont to tweet. Sad, because Reuters really is a great news agency.

Very unstable and unreliable connection. Extremely bad App and bad App support. No one ever returns calls or emails and quality of app is getting worse. It says “offline, check internet connectivity” while internet is excellent. And not multi tasking. Same as Bad YouTube feather as soon as you go to other apps to do your tasks it stops working on iPhone! BAD technically.

Full of bugs!. “Your news feed is currently unavailable” has to be the most common thing I’ve read using this app. FIX IT!!!

Broken: How much time do you have?. Please note that the app on Apple TV has a feature that has been broken for a long time now. The news app used to ask “How much time do you have?”, and customize the news duration to that selected time. Now regardless of what option is picked, the news sequence place for 60 full minutes always. Kindly help fix this very helpful feature.

All over the place. I have the app on my TV and the news is completely unorganized and the production value is worse than my old high school news station- they just show random clips and interviews with zero context so you have no idea what the news story is about. It’s really frustrating and annoying. The worst is that they play the same commercial randomly and the sound is over 20 points higher than the sound for the news. I used to love watching in the morning because it is non biased news but whoever is managing their TV app needs to be re-trained

Better journalism. Reuters is an excellent news app. I keep several global news apps on my front age and always turn to Reuters for the balanced view. Political spin is grossly effecting journalism these days. The mechanics of the app and ease of sorting stories makes this source the 'go to' news button. Use it for the top business news and world events source.

Wire service available on this update. I had no problems with the app crashing after updating it. The new update has a front page with both the previous Top News as well as a Wire page for latest news. Quite helpful for following breaking and live news — quite a good update.

Great app gets better. In the past it’s always been a toss up between using Bloomberg (a nicer app but them harassing you to pay for it) or Reuters (and having to deal with a bad UI) but with the new update you don’t have to decide. It’s much cleaner and runs smoothly on my phone. I really like it and I hope they continue making updates like this!

Great news app but glitch in functionality. This is a great news app and I trust Reuters to be less biased than other outlets, but this app has a glitch. It randomly takes you back up to the top of the feed, perhaps as stories are added. You then have to scroll past all the headlines you’ve already seen, again, and probably do it again before you give up and go to a different news app for the day.

Fewer features than the Reuters TV app??. I have been an avid user of Reuters apps for several years now, specifically, the Reuters TV app before it was decommissioned. I began using this app in place of the decommissioned Reuters TV app with the expectation that eventually features within videos would reach what was available in the previous app. However, no, such progress has been made. Specifically, I’m referring to the feature allowing videos, or at least audio to continue playing when using a different app or simply leaving the app for the Home Screen.

Love the reporting—the interface could use some work.. The interface is okay, certainly better than some, but I need a way to scroll through and select individual topics I follow that is more natural than swiping a thin bar on the top of the screen that shows only a few topics at a time. As it is, it’s difficult to quickly reach any specific topic, even though it’s easy to see and scroll through my main feed.

Unusable & Innaccessible. Completely not accessible for the blind. I use an iPod Touch with iOS 12. I have downloaded this update several times, however, alas, the current version gets stuck in the initial set-up. As an editor, journalist, and technical writer, failure to verify the ap works is a base line for any use or review. Fortunately, the earlier version on an older iPod Touch 5 with iOS 9.3 continues to work very well.. So I depend on that device & version for an otherwise good and dependable service with high-quality journalism. Still waiting for a usable & accessible update :(

Search terms do not reflect current content. Overall a great app - my preferred source for news. Unfortunately, searching does not always reflect the latest news. For example , the top result returned when I search “Ukraine “ is a month old article and those that follow it are even older. This despite the front page having new articles referring to Ukraine on a near daily basis right now.

Why do they need all my information??. I was enjoying reuters news until I reached my”article limit” then they wanted a lot of information from me. Why do they need this? I’m just trying to read “unbiased” news which is almost impossible these days. Why is it necessary reuters? Why do you need my information? Why can’t you just share the news? If you want to scroll ads at the bottom of the page fine. Just leave our personal information out of it and let us read in peace.

Hard to customize, hard to view. When the app started, it asked what section I wanted to see. I chose, launched the app, and got totally different sections. Took awhile to ALMOST get what I want - if it actually remembers. Then the presentation. It’s much less compact and therefore harder to navigate to what I want to see. Admittedly I’m just starting, but first impressions should be better than this with the hype you proffer. Not sure I want the old forever, but I want something better than this. On the plus side of things, it’s Reuters. So the reporting is excellent.

If only …. ♥️ the news delivered by this app. Brief and concise enough for quick reading to keep you updated on current events. The downside: if you go back to the HomePage after reading the content of an article the app launches to the top of the HomePage rather than keeping you where you left off. Irritating to say the least.

Latest update makes Reuters a displeasure to use. I loved the Reuters app as it was so easy to browse across articles and sections . This latest update is clunky, you have to click separately on the menu button to move sections vs previously swiping right and when you read an article and go back the view starts at the top of the page all over again . Articles seem to be repeating a lot as well. Please don’t fix things that aren’t broken - this was such a great app before and now I am thinking to find an alternative.

Would be excellent news source, but .... The sign in nag is ever more frequent, and there is no way to sign in. A previously established sign in is always rejected. Any attempt to create a new account is always rejected. Update blurb claims "improved logon experince".. Yeah, right. The "improvement" allows access to have one's existing logon rejected just like account creation. I have 78 years' worth of experiences, none of which I want "improved", "enhanced", or "upgraded". This mess is a good example of why I'm cynical about "improvements".

Best news app around. I’m the first to admit that I’m a news junkie. I love being kept in the loop about everything happening all the way from my backyard to the far corners of the world. No other news organization covers more and has a higher, fairer, better journalistic standard than Reuters. Could not recommend this app highly enough!

Miss The Wire. *updated after the developer response (and I think the version updated too)*. You have the topics you pick, maybe with an algorithm. It tends to drop off half the content I need & until I saw the developers response , and searched for “the wire” , lost a critical feature from the ap - to know what’s going neutrally - not just favorites. Will add top stories too - but I like the wire which seems not to filter topics. It’s better than the AP news ap.

Don’t upgrade if you like this app. Unfortunately the new version of this app is a tragedy. Previously the settings allowed you to tailor your experience by indicating what kinds of news you want to read, presented in a normal linear fashion. Now, not only doesn’t the selection system work correctly (if I turn off everything but world news, 2/3 of the news feeds from US news) but you cannot unsubscribe to the market reports that they automatically subscribe you to — as far as I can tell. None of this ever happened with the old app. Additionally they’ve gone over to some weird interface that scrolls horizontally at the top but only includes Reuter’s suggestions. You have to scroll down to get to news that isn’t days old. Sadly, this was a 5-Star app before. Now, I’m giving this one star before I delete the app. Just sad. I used to read Reuters 4x/day before this new app was released.

Removed App. As a self-admitted “news junky” I decided to delete the Reuters News App due to automatic videos for ads that cannot be paused or stopped altogether. ANY ad that plays an automatic video will NEVER get my business for the simple fact that while trying to read an article any automatic video is a complete distraction. This is a growing problem that should be addressed and at the very least one should be able to pause the video or ad or stop and block the ad altogether.

Unable to adjust notifications. Had to delete app.. Recently I have been receiving a ton of notifications on my phone about Reuter’s new podcast, of which I have zero interest. I have searched throughout the entire app trying to see where I can turn off these notifications as I only prefer to see notifications regarding major world events, not some daily podcast. No ability to adjust any notification settings on a news app is honestly a huge deal breaker.

How EXACTLY do you “Add The Wire to the news feed”?. Reuters has a great app with global and US news. Another review reply stated you could add The Wire back. I searched “ The Wire” and a very stale and incomplete feed shows up. There’s no way on iPad to add The Wire to the Hamburger on the left top. I want to see the raw wire; used to be a The Channel web subscriber and am a news junkie. The review community has been pretty sore that this is missing; also signed up and logged into to free thing.

Best way to get your news. I have been using Reuters for the past six months or so and it has truly changed my life. The addition of how much time you have to watch that it makes viewing the news far more enjoyable. Along with the fact that Reuters it’s one of the most unbiased news sources in the country there really is no downside.

Excellent news reporting. It is as unbiased as possible. Even more so the AP.. The app lets you choose what sort of news that you want to see. All news apps are like this. However, I can only get breaking news sort of alerts. My suggestion is to allow users to choose out of their categories on the app and get specific alerts for this categories.

App is fine but…. The registration confirmation process needs work. Took quite awhile to receive the “email confirmation” email. Once I received it, it took me to a login screen where my newly confirmed email was rejected. Wouldn’t allow me to sign in. A few minutes later, I received an email saying that my email was confirmed. Very confusing and convoluted

New and UNimproved. Really dislike the new app design. It is so much more difficult to configure it to my liking. I hate the new menu bar at the top that requires side scrolling to find a feed. I tried adding the Wire feed as suggested in the new app description and it doesn’t seem to work. I don’t want images in the headlines and want the most information in the least space. Why do newer apps have to be scrolled so much? Not sure why you had to redesign an app to make it more difficult to use. I don’t bother anymore and get my news from other sources.

Autoplay can’t be turned off. I turned off autoplay in the settings, but videos autoplay anyhow. Thinking I might have done it wrong, I checked, and indeed, the setting was OFF. I also verified that it was Reuters content, not an ad. Autoplay is an extremely annoying feature, and it is cruel to give people hope that it can be turned off without delivering. It’s also quite battery-draining.

No more offline cache. Used to be able to load the news with wi-fi, turn off the wi-fi, and read the news on my commute with cellular data turned off (now that unlimited monthly data is either unaffordable or just a memory, depending on your carrier), or where there is limited or no cellular data available (subway stations). Should let users cache (even the ads that support the app) with a settings option so we can save battery life and data charges. I’d even pay a reasonable one-time fee for that. All gone now. Thanks for the update, developers.

Reuters. I am grateful for Reuters now news. During my morning coffee, after meditation, I am able to catch up on the most important current news of the day & begin my day reflecting on topics that were presented. Your reporters and the Reuters presentation are both concise and clear, covering details necessary to present events and issues at hand. Thank you very much. Peace and gratitude, Elizabeth

Tired of constantly signing in. I use the app often but I’m really tired of getting the “you’ve reached your limit, register or sign in to keep reading” as signing in takes you out of the app, out of the story you’re reading and into safari. Most of the time I close everything and move to AP news instead. If I need to sign in, make me do so when I launch the app, not three articles in. Thanks

New update is an ABSOLUTE pain to use.. Featuring More Ads than ever before. Sometimes these ads will redirect you to a new browser tab if you as much as lay a finger on it to scroll (not even a tap). If you see an interesting article and decide to open it up to read, the moment you try to go back to your feed, you start right back at the very top. Not sure how this gets overlooked, but the basic functions of how a “feed” should work in 2021 has been completely basturdized by these devs.

Regions buried. For some reason Reuters decided they weren’t getting enough clicks inside their apps. They had a perfectly elegant system to get you to the topics you wanted to see, so they instead buried them in a pull-down menu rather that display them at the top of the feed. This saves them absolutely no space and requires more manipulation to see the very same information as before. The target should be to have an app that is more intuitive and require fewer clicks to see what you want. Going in the wrong direction.

Harder to use, more junk in the way. The latest app date makes Reuters useless, which is why I have deleted the app. The big pictures mean you have to scroll and scroll to get the news, and so forget about getting a me u of top stories in your categories to quickly choose. There is a text-only setting that makes the list shorter, but bandwidth-hogging videos are liberally interspersed and cant be turned off, and an editor’s picks item at the top also gets in the way. Plus, it’s harder to switch among categories, as only some fit in the row at top. The design is very unfriendly and inefficient. Reuters is ruined.

Shortcuts. I can’t find this app in the shortcuts for IPhone. If shortcuts aren’t enable please enable it. I use to love this app and use it for the news daily but it glitched for a period of time and I fell out of the habit. I would like to start again but I would like to have it go off automatically when I get home from the gym but I don’t see an option to add Reuters as a shortcut.

Quite Buggy/Lags on the iPad 10.5”. I love Reuters. This is my only go to source for real news. However and when using the app, it gets quite buggy when scrolling up and down in the news articles. I’m on the latest 11.4.1 iOS software. This should not be happening on an iPad that is equipped with excellent hardware. Please please please fix the coding on this app. It needs to run fluidly when scrolling in an article. If there wasn’t any lag, I’d give this app 5 stars. PLEASE FIX THE CODING REUTERS!

Too Many ADs/Stopped Working. I spoke too soon. Now it won’t let me look at any stories unless I register. Nowhere did it say there was a time limit before it would stop working. Sad, you would think an institution like Reuters would be more trustworthy. Will delete ☹️ — original— One AD per news story is enough. Audio ads are unacceptable. Video ads are unacceptable. I don’t usually mind ads, and in fact, will usually click on ssome to give you some revenue, but too much too much. I expect better from a company like Reuters. Sad 😞

Customizable Push Notifications - Useless!. This is not an exciting new feature! What’s all the hype for this when there are three and they all default to ON and cannot be changed?!? It’s the same thing we’ve had up until now. On a separate note, the significant reduction in ads is great! Finally! Thank you. Want two more stars?? Then please fix the dark mode support. What’s the point of supporting Dark Mode at all when the app opens with a full white BRIGHT splash screen thereby blinding the user for 2 secs in the dark (it’s obnoxious).

Plea to Reuters: please read recent reviews!. I’ve also used the Reuters app as my primary news source but was dismayed when it required registration. Still, I kept the app to read headlines and bylines - when suddenly registration was no longer required! Fast forward to today, when it’s required again. What’s going on?! I just installed AP instead. They’re both still the least biased news sources - and I can still go to Reuters online. Are you listening, Reuters?

App spontaneously returns to first article. This morning the iPad app started to return to the first article when the screen is touched to scroll. This seems to occur about once per minute or so. I then have to quickly scroll down again to find my place before it happens again. It makes it very difficult to access articles more than an hour or two old.

Good but updates too often. I like to scroll through the top stories daily. It only takes me a few minutes. But I cannot even get through the list without it refreshing the page and putting me back to the top of the list - which almost always has exactly the same stories. So I never get to read the items at the bottom of the list.

Fantastic journalism. I turned to Reuters because I was tired of reading the opinions and spin from other media outlets. Reuters does a great job of reporting the facts and providing context that is often skipped by other news sources. I use this app throughout my day to stay informed on what is happening in the world. I especially like the 15min videos that are updated daily. They provide a quick download on the most important events.

My daily go to for News!. I use this app daily for News. I like that it reports the news and is not one-sided like other news agencies. I only have two suggestions. I would like to have a voiceover when they have close caption for a foreign language. I would also like to see support for the Apple TV app.

Only missing one thing for me. App is great, would be perfect for me if it included the ability to customize notifications a bit - for example, I’d love to shut off the notifications for podcasts because I don’t want them, but I can also see it being useful to only have notifications for breaking news or whatever else. Otherwise, everything seems to work great for me. Thanks much!

Unbiased and Credible. I did some research to find the most credible and least biased source of news and Reuters was at the top. It’s very clear when reading their articles that they provide zero opinion and commentary with very neutral language and equal representation of Republican and Democratic issues and statements. I’m trying to turn everyone onto this that I can. Thanks to Reuters and your employees for your excellent journalism.

Simply the most comprehensive and nonpartisan. I am a self confessed news and information junkie! I have tried literally every news app out there. This is the only one you’ll ever need! There’s an up to date custom video update, wire news ad it comes in, and thorough coverage of everything! If you’ve tried it before...give it another try. The recent improvements are amazing!

Unbiased news and app to be improved. I used to be paid users of FT, Bloomberg and other major financial news outlet. These media all seem to be slightly biased, though better than CNN or FOX. I canceled all my subscription once I switched to Reuter’s. However, the app is slightly unhandy, it would be nice to be able to switch between different editions without having to reset everything, smoother news loading is also a mandatory, customizable bottom menu and watchlist.

Love Reuter’s news- not current app. Slow or doesn’t load when swiping between articles ( iPhone ). Sometimes have to go back to home page between each one. I’m not completely against the effort toward more personalization but it don’t like the way its done here. I feel too boxed in. Also, after I read the main page and go to one of my “preferred “ sections I wind up scrolling through a lot of articles I just read. I do appreciate your attention to and attempts at improvement.

Constantly “Accidentally” clicks on ads. 1 out of 2 or 3 times of scrolling the newsfeed, the app will act as if I’ve clicked on an ad, which opens the browser on my phone which h redirects me to the App Store to download whatever random app. It’s not hard to imagine that the app was designed to be very open to “accidentally” acting as if you’ve clicked on an ad, in order for them to earn ad-click revenue. Whether it’s intentional/by design or not, it’s a horrible, jarring experience every time, and it happens a LOT.

Forced Registration?!. Reuters really Heard’d the bed by forcing users to register. Oh, it’s so they can provide a better customizable experience for users? False. More like collecting more data to the sell, which is in line with all the ads they have as well. By the way- the ads are easily hidden if you use a VPN ;) Don’t bother with this app until they knock off the forced user registration. Active daily users is a metric utilized to grade Company performance… The world is connected enough at this point that there’s plenty of other places to view news. Especially for U.S. news- try out Daily Mail. Cheers!
