News as it should be. No spin or angle. Just an honest accounting.

Glitch on iPad. Great news but app is flawed on iPad. When you have several notifications and click on one to read, the others are automatically deleted. Unlike other news apps where notifications stay until you read, or delete, this one only allows for one to be accessed. Disappointing since I often have several I want to read.

Great news source, almost there. At this point, I think it’s four-plus stars. They’ve worked out a lot of the bugs, and it’s a go-to source for news, like AP should be. But when it sends out alerts, and you call up the story, it tends to freeze up. If they could fix that, it would be ideal.

Best unbiased news out there. AP news is news for someone who wants both sides of the story and as little of a slant as possible. Truth matters, but in the social sphere nowhere more than the news.

Professional Reporting. AP reporting is always accurate and reliable

Fact-based journalism. AP is the best source for accurate, timely and fair news.

Left leaning. While not as blatant as other MSM outlets AP News is certainly left leaning. Some of the “news” reported is riddled with opinions or straight up insults towards conservatives. Maybe there is some truth ti their stories but the added slights make it easy to believe their pushing a narrative favorable to the left. Not a great news source if you cannot trust them to be fair to everyone.

Trustworthy News. Unbiased and factual journalism that I can rely on.

Go to first. AP is the first news I open w/ my morning coffee

Associated Press Standards. I appreciate this APP and refer to their stories to verify "news". I value the reporting integrity. The Associated Press is number 1 in news.

Typical AP. Standard AP biased reporting bashing Republicans and their supporters all the while making our failing President a hero. The country is a mess economically and socially all because of democratic policies. Finally, the immigration problem has hit them square in the face the AP doesn’t report that.

I wish everyone had this ap. I wish everyone had this ap. Pun intended. Accurate news, decent commentary pieces (when they publish them). Objective news, occasionally sparse. The weekly fact-checking feature was originally written with a tongue-in-cheek air, but has since developed a more appropriate serious tone. Only complaint is the ap updates news slower than internet (usually about ten minutes behind), so you’ve got to google breaking news or sit in front of the TV with a strainer. This is really not a complaint I guess, just human impatience interfacing with accurate print journalism. Overall this ap has greatly improved my understanding of the world and it takes less time to get the news than sifting through the noise on TV. I recommend pairing it with the Reuters ap.

Just work. Why does the app forget the topics you put in?

It’s okay. Recent news is not recent. Same stories are in recent news for weeks. Should be a way to sort by actual recent news by date.

Broken. This app has not opened in over a month! I get push notifications, but every time I open the app, it shows the start screen and immediately crashes and quits. This is a great news service and an okay app— when I can actually use it.

Seems to be very balanced. Too many outlets have slanted viewpoints. AP has certainly been around for a very, very long time 👍🏻

Just what I was looking for. I love this app because I just want the news. I don’t want the Republican view I don’t want the Democrat view. I just want the news right down the middle and then let me decide what I think.

Fake news on climate change. They take money from renewable energy interests to hire 20 writers who do nothing but hype climate change. Paid propaganda that relates every weather event no matter how insignificant to climate change without presenting any proof. Makes you wonder about the rest of their coverage.

Usual poor journalism. Try vetting your sources. Just like every other “news” organization without a commitment to real journalism. Disappointing but predictable.

Deleted APP. Fairly good news coverage but the overwhelming number of ads makes reading news incredibly aggravating. Sending feedback by the hundreds indicating no interest in the ads obviously has no impact. Apple News is marginally better so I will delete AP and sort through the subscription requirements if n Apple.

Good articles, sometimes too long. In my opinion, most of the articles are good, but often they’re too long. I would prefer if they were structured to present the key points up front with additional background to follow.

Not unbiased reporting as promised. The writers and editors need to do a better maintaining very strict political neutrality in the writing. I read too many AP stories that use emotional language to put a thumb on the scale.

The AP delivers straight news. I trust and expect the Associated Press to deliver the truth. The editors and writers take no editorial position in the reports. They suppress and strip out any judgmental comments and personal emotions that may try to sneak in. The news reports are straight, and the AP meets my expectations for high quality journalism and news reporting.

Good but needs tweaks. This is my go-to App for news but it needs a couple of tweaks. There should be a choice for duration. I believe a previous version had something like 30, 45, 60 minute choices. There should be a “with narration only” option. I put the app on while I’m getting ready in the morning. Interspersed with narrated content there will be segments with no narration, just audio of a celebration, protest, traffic. When I’m in the shower I can’t tell what the piece is about. It’s just noise that clamors on for an unknown length of time - very annoying. There should be an option for new content only. Often the same piece will be repeated for 3 or more days. This just seems like a lazy way to fill airtime to get to 60 minutes.

AP is my standard ‘go to’ news source. I’m am on the move a lot, and rely on AP to keep up with the news wherever I am. That includes breaking news as well as more in depth reporting.

Irritating organization of stories. When I’m alerted to a new story, much of the time a glance at the list of stories gives me no clue as to what was the new story. New stories are mixed with stories that are days, sometimes weeks old. Why not simply list the newest stories on the top of the list in the order they arrived? And why do stories weeks old hang around seemingly forever in the middle of the story list? It’s annoying and inefficient use of reader time.

Error on launch. Errors out as soon as the app is opened.

Great design, POOR contents. This is an awesomely designed app, but it is just kind of stupid that all the contents are U.S oriented.

A great news site. This has become my ‘go to’ news site as it covers a good range of local and international news in a trustworthy manner. A great escape from the bias and falsity of the Murdoch press.

Topic Settings not saving. When removing topics the app never seems to save the changes and I continue to get too many notifications from topics I have no interest in reading.

why i like ap news - a lot. i find mainstream media often superficial, repetitive and without balance particularly with respect to politics and and disasters while not always without these issues i find ap news generally well ahead of the pack further the articles have enough depth to give a solid base of understanding so that i don’t feel i have ‘wasted’ my time i use two or three news streams to cover all my needs with ap news the first i go to

Comprehensive unbiased journalism. AP is one of the few informative and unbiased news sources that remain today. I love their app because it is easy to navigate and isn't full of rubbish advertising and unessisarry celebrity news. AP’s long and professional history continues to shine through in their unbiased and comprehensive coverage of global events. Highly recommend this app for accurate journalism.

Clunky interface. Not thrilling to view or use

Limited to USA news. Shows very few news items. What it does show is mostly USA related. Not much use if you live outside the USA. Sometimes crashes on startup. Deleted as a waste of space.

Balanced news source. App could improve.. Well balanced news source without bias, which is rare in news apps, whether conservative or liberal. However the app really drains my iPhone battery and is often jerky. Wish it’s performance could be improved.

Previous version was better and easy to access. Hi! I been using the AP app for more than two years. I was quite happy and satisfied. Nonetheless This version looks more complicated in its outlook and in operating it. The previous version simply had top stories and the geographical regions. In addition for people travelling this new version in some regions and countries can only be accessed and updated via having a VPN . It looks more focused on US news , rather than the international focus. The previous version however did not require such a complex way of connecting to the app. While traveling to the west Asia region now I thus need to use VPN to access the app. Hope and looking forward for you to address these issues. Thanks

Can’t enlarge text. Reading some articles is very difficult because they use a grey font on a white background and you can’t enlarge the text when using an iPhone

Good Information, poor functioning app. The AP app has excellent information and a good selection of news. However, updates to the app over the last few months have made it function poorly. It is slow to very slow to load, often refreshes the feed shortly after loading and sometimes is extremely slow to load an article. The app worked significantly better 9 to 12 months ago.

Garbage Reporting. I was just reading an article about the guy that mowed down and killed 6 people at a parade in Waukesha. AP is using words like “allegedly” and “suspect”. Feels like they are being gentle. He murdered people. Report it as such.

What happened?. This app no longer works. For months all I have been able to do is to receive alerts. I can’t open any actual articles or request troubleshooting without the app immediately closing. Is there still a developer reading these reviews?

Re-download the app!. To anyone having trouble open articles, try deleting and re-downloading the app. It resolved the crashing problems I’ve had when opening articles! Great app and great journalism. One of the last few neutral news sources around these days.

Accidental side swipe resets page. …every time! It’s very frustrating to try to find your spot in a long article after the page resets because you accidentally happen to do a slight sideways motion in one of your many scrolls. No other news app resets the page in the same situation.

Center Left-. AP is a great news source , but in my small opinion it is sometimes biased to the left. Not really big enough to deter me from reading, but important to keep in mind while I do.

Great for news, hard on the eyes. It’s great to have quick/direct access to what is universally agreed upon to be an unbiased news source. The down side is that I’ve not been able to find a way to make the text size larger. I’m using iOS 16.1.2, reading on my iPhone, and have tried increasing text size via the Control Centre as well as through the Larger Accessibility Sizes option. This app does not appear to support Dynamic Type.

Unsensational, but biased. I enjoyed AP for a while because their presentation of news felt very straightforward. However, you can tell on a daily basis that they are incredibly far leftwing and the articles are written with gross bias. Uninstalled and looking elsewhere now.

Alerts. Anytime I tap on an alert, I’m asked to set my language again. Does not go to the story/headline I tapped on.

Keeps Logging Out. I like the AP News app, I find the quality of news/reporting is exceptional. But every time the app updates, it logs me out. I find this highly irritating and can’t seem to understand why.

Too much Covid nonsense. Let’s have real news be first and foremost, not Covid opinions on a politicalized issue.

Can’t read articles. The app is not working for me at all. Any time I want to open an article the app instantly closes.

Notifications disappear!!. UPDATE 2023-12-17: Version 3.51.333 V3.51.333 Notifications disappear!! Whenever I click on an individual notification, it immediately takes me to the article in the AP app. This is a grand thing! However, all of the remaining AP notifications disappear from the iOS Notification Center. This would not be a problem if within the app there were a place to see all of the latest notifications, but there is not. Please fix this problem. It has been ongoing for at least a year or more. App crashes every time. Cannot read any article without the app crashing.

Topics don't work to curate so it's all USA all the time.. I want to love this app. It's simple, the news stories come up on my Apple Watch - readable and with breaking news - but is it relevant news? No. I was happy to spend time adding topics and sorting them so I'd see what was relevant to me. But the time was wasted as I tried, then retried. And tried again. The topics section does nothing, and even if you delete an irrelevant topic, it undeletes immediately and everything slides back into default order, and it'd all USA, all the time. Add a topic and it's on the list but never appears. So disappointed to delete this.

Crashes upon opening a story. Great app prior to the update. Now it crashes every time I try to open a story, even though I’m able to browse.

Lose your place while reading. Poor app design means you will frequently lose your progress while scrolling through headlines as well as within individual articles. Also, why are we getting push notifications of headlines for articles we’ve already read? Quality news content though

Now it seems like all you do is try to tell us what to think or what you think is “right”. I just want the news. I’ll form my own opinions. Everything is an op-ed these days.

Side swipe article refresh. I like the app and stories. Please fix the problem with any slight side swipe and the article will refresh and goes back to the top. I have to then scroll back down and find where I was at. This is very frustrating. No other news app that allows side swipe within the article does this - because it is annoying. NY Times app is a good example. If you accidentally side swipe it just takes you back to where you were last at in the article. Thanks!!

Dominated by liberal Democrats!. No longer provides a balanced perspective regarding nearly all news articles. Rather is significantly biased in favor of liberal and Biden oriented rhetoric… Very disappointed, but characteristically true for the last 15 years. non-political oriented stories are reasonably covered, the only reason I read any of AP News.

Editorial negligemce. Domestic political reporting raises more questions than it answers. Name the money, find the crimes, tell the real stories.

Ads and Garbage links. Pathetic fake news and completely biased in every way. When Aljazeera is less biased than AP then the world has a big problem.

Great news, but music always stops when app is opened. I like the work AP does but I dislike that my music stops each time I open the app. Some of the stories on the headline page also linger for too long in my opinion. They could be refreshed with newer stories. It would also be cool if they dedicated a section on the home page specifically to positive news, to highlight some of the good going on in the world

Autoplayimg videos stop music from playing.. I enjoy the reporting AP does. However, their app is terrible. There are auto playing videos that aren’t even on screen and you can’t shut them off. I often listen to music while reading my various news apps. When I open AP, my music stops because of the auto playing videos I can’t even see. I just stopped opening up the app at this point.

Strange App. I was enjoying this app until my phone notified me yesterday it had been on for 20 hours, so I deleted it with the intention of reinstalling, until this morning it said the now uninstalled app had been on since midnight. I’m not sure if it’s the phone or the app, but something is off. Beyond that, the app is a bit too negative for me. The content of the articles seemed to get increasingly alarmist and I really, deeply do not agree AP should lead with pictures of dead or injured children (Hamas, etc) as it feels exploitative and violating of their situation for the sake of news, and emotionally the toll on the reader is to increase anxiety, fear, depression, and helplessness as we can’t do anything to help them. I want to be informed, but 24/7 death spiral is creating too much anxiety. So it’s likely a good thing the app acted up, to finally get me to delete the app. I didn’t have notifications on, so I can only imagine its effect is worse on others. Anyway, I enjoy AP overall but this app was just way too hard too often.

Worst most biased reporters. Over the last two years AP has transformed into a garage feed of politically motivated news stories from very biased reporters. Wish they could stop pushing agendas and report fair news. They’ve become as bad as FoxNews.

I love the Free AP app. I have canceled all other news apps/subscriptions in favor of AP. Thank you AP!

Great resource. Excellent global coverage; timely; quickly posted; reliable. Presentation is clear with content easily accessible and easily sortable.

“Loading content” frustration. I have no issues with the content itself. Good job there. However, the constant jumping back to the top of the article with the slightest non-up and down scroll and with a split second message “Loading content” before reloading is maddening if it happens twice I abandon the story. I also do not like that sometimes when I exit an article, the app jumps back to the first story. Without these function issues, it would be a 5-star for me.

AP reports. Updates are quick. Articles seem more objective and get to the point. Very little hearsay and editorializing mixed in. When I read articles I like objectivity and tight journalism. There are no shortage of opinions in digital and print publications but shouldn’t a readership be informed rather than persuaded? Give me facts and let me use my brain and judgement.

Great source. AP is where I turn to daily to get top news stories from around the world. There’s very “fluff” and sensationalism in the reporting.

Favorite news source. I come read associated press articles every day.

Crashing. Regularly crashing with recent OS update.

Crashes too much. Half the time I want to read a story the app crashes before opening and I can’t find the story again. Like it just disappeared. Pretty frustrating.

Bad call. AP should not have called the Iowa caucuses before they were over.

Load screen still no dark mode. You wwnt through the effort of giving your app a dark mode, but forgot the load screen which flashes a bright white and destroys the night vision right there. Uninstalling this now, I am tired of that disrespect of peoples' night vision. There are enough other informative and balanced news apps that get such basics right.
