Updated app is literally unusable for me. The update made the app so laggy and glitchy it’s no longer usable on my phone.

To much. To many notifications. No way to fine tune it.

Horrid update. This new format is useless, makes no sense, not easy to read or follow its not worth keeping

Becoming to liberal. AP has always been a great place for a diverse group news topics, from science, to politics, to business, to world affairs, technology, and so forth. Unfortunately over the past 6 months or so they joining the liberal media and contributing to fear mongering over Trump and it’s just unfortunate.

Very Slow to load. The new app is so slow to load that I mostly just move on to something else. Not sure why they had to screw up the old one that worked fine. May have to just delete it.

Format change. Ever since the format changed I find the app has completely lost its appeal. I go elsewhere for my news. Impossible to find stories of interest to me. I don’t know if the content changed, or if I just can’t figure out how to find them.

Font Size?. The new app update is horrible. Terrible layout and no way to adjust the font size. Who greenlighted this garbage?

New app format needs work. Love the AP, love the reporting, hate the new app layout Many reasons, different sizes of story bylines/images, seems more chaotic, but mostly no date on those bylines sections. Clearly a step backwards.

Constant crashes. This used to be my go-to app for news as it was “just the news” and from reliable source. The new design is hard to read, with headline font size way too small and the option to have fewer pictures still have a picture for almost every story. But final straw was that it now crashes every ~three minutes. I’m done.

New update not working on iPhone 8. The newest update, has made the app basically horrible use. Can not scroll down through the story’s. This is where I get my reliable news, please figure out the bugs, or revert back to your previous edition.

Text Size. Please fix the ability to change text size. Why did you take that ability away.

PUT IT BACK!. New format is absolutely awful, you can't see stories & topics at a glance anymore, text size & photos are huge in some areas and small in others, very little control over stories or order of importance. VISUALLY OFFENSIVE UI There was some kind of privacy policy update, but naturally they won't say what they changed, just present you with a day's worth of legal reading, no news until you accept, you figure it out! There are new privacy sections to request they not sell & limit use of personal info, which you must do separately, by entering personal info. PUT. IT. BACK 😭 This was my go-to news app, now I might just delete it rather than open it again, it's that bad. It used to have lines between stories, no more, it's intensely black with a terrible typeface using enlarged & bold characters to choose what they want you to see. There are also terms across the top that I suppose you're supposed to swipe through? I couldn't stand it long enough to find out.

Icky new app. Privacy is a mess. You have to fill out form after form giving up your name, location and email (hard pass on that) then go to their website and fill out more forms, what a joke. Oh, and the new design is awful. We lost the ability to set the font sizes for headlines and body type. So if the default is too small to read? Well, that’s just too bad. Go read something else.

New UI needs better separation between elements. Without any lines between and within the various stories and graphics I'm having difficulty reading the headlines and it's easier to get lost within each story.

Articles no longer load after update. Since the new update, articles no longer load for me no matter how long I wait. All I see is the loading wheel spinning but the front page loads fine so I have no idea what’s going on in the back end and maybe they don’t either.

New App Keeps Crashing my iPhone. You had a good app and you broke it. Shame on your developers.

Finally deleted. After years of using the AP News apps I just deleted it after the last update. I wanted simple, fast text based and reliable news. They continued the migration to bloatware. The final straw was when I didn’t get a list of new stories, but am directed to whatever their algorithm determines I should be reading. I don’t need that manipulation.

What went wrong?. Was my primary news app until the last update. Just deleted it. Crashes and more difficult to use.

New Version Just Keeps Crashing. Don’t bother trying to use this app until they fix it.

Change is not better. Went from a 5-star app to hard to read and thereby hardly useful. MAJOR PROBLEM: Lost control over fonts. Article lists are too small. When article is open, Headline way too large and article text way too small. Some articles don’t fit in text pane, spilling off to right and text is cut off. Reading pane cannot be adjusted. Change for change sake is very unwise, particularly when good features are deprecated and new features are unnecessary additions.

AP News on iPad. IT from India?

New format is NOT an improvement. Ugh, the new format is too large. Bring back the old one which was much more reader friendly!

Privacy policy changed. I am deleting this app. Whenever I see apps updating thier privacy policies.I get rid of the app. I won’t be using this app again. They collect to much info anyway.

Beautiful Update. Finally—an extremely well designed version of the app that’s worthy of AP’s news.

Roll back the update. Not sure why the app was redesigned, but it was not an improvement. The prior version was great. The update is much harder to read and there doesn’t appear to be a way to change the text size. Fingers crossed that they will go back to the older version.

New version is really slow. Should probably roll back. New version has horrible performance. Maybe because there seems to be double the number of ads that have to load?

Font Size. Please bring back custom font size adjustment. The app is now unusable for me because the font is too small.

Assume Problems. After a recent update (late 2024), and considering layoffs, I suppose it makes sense the new app layout is appallingly bad and glitchy. Bye bye. Associated Press? Not so much. Assume problems is more like it. Won’t take responsibility for getting photographs labeled appropriately. App won’t maintain topics in my preference order. I shouldn’t need to make an account for that. App crashes. App takes f o r f ** k i n g ever to load topics when switching between them. Sloppy. Disappointing. Several someones need have their pink slips handed to them.

PBS News. American news is too political. Thank you for giving just news; no slant! You are very valuable in this world!

Best News App!. This is the last legitimate news source we have left, so grateful for AP news.

Search function crashes. Why have a search function if it crashes when the result is tapped. Maybe good for the news they want to feed, but don’t search for it if it’s not there

Font is way too small. The new app is unusable for me, with a nonadjustable font size that is way too small. Please fix this or roll back to the previous version, thanks.

Change isn't always good. This app was fine until the recent change. Now it takes forever to load, the popups are overwhelming the load up time, the popups are too easy to click on, the format for picking sections isn't as good and you can't adjust the settings. All I can say is why?!!? The news is great! The app is terrible! It's like they made it for a computer and not a phone. Disappointing 😢

New version disappoints. In many views headline text is huge and extends across multiple screens. Stability improvements are welcome, but new frustrations have been created. Is text size adjustable? I trust the AP as a news source but much less likely to read it now

Please roll back the update!. The newest update is somehow actually slower than the previous version. While the last version still incorporated duplicate stories, the scrolling and loading of text and video was much smoother than the current version. Also, as a person who enjoys reading, the older version with adjustable font size was far better.

Idiots. Did you guys have one of the writers re-design the app for free? What a mess. Idiots congratulating idiots in the decision making department.

Update us a downgrade. This used to be my go-to news app in the morning but this so-called upgrade will have me searching for a different source. I’ll check back periodically to see if the old format has been restored. Until then, ta ta.

New app is downgrade. Please bring back the old app. The new app feels clunky and cheap. Performs much worse.

Text too small. Please provide text sizing options. The article text is small and somewhat hard to read.

New Update Incompatible w iPhone (iOS 18). New display is too large for iPhone screen. Difficult to read. Difficult to scroll headlines. Contact support doesn’t work. Had to delete. Was happy w previous version. Content & display. Enjoyed 1 minute news summary. Disappointed.

Update is garbage. Latest update broke the app. The user interface is terrible and randomly shuts down. Way to break a perfectly fine news app

Why do news alert banners disappear almost instantly?. When a red dot appeared on my AP icon, I could click on AP, and the page would come up with a banner headline—blue or red- would appear across the top of my iPad screen. If it interested me I could click on it and read the story. No longer. Now the banner disappears before I can read the second word! This has gone on for Months. Why?

New Format Offputting. I’m not sure I like the new layout and format. It’s too “In your face”. I prefer more of the old list format, although it could definitely use improvement around the order of presentation and elimination of duplicate entries for the same article. I would like more control over what I see in the app and what I don’t see. Also the search function still needs work. What happened with the AI beta search that was briefly available? In any case the search doesn’t find articles that I know exist and returns way too many irrelevant articles.

Backwards progression. With their recent upgrade the AP has managed to move reading the news back to the days of dial-up modems. On a 5G ultra wide network i thought the days of the endless spinning wheel were gone but AP proved me wrong. Guess it’s time to move to another news source.

Great news, annoyingly buggy app. New app is terrible. All the bugs of the old one and more. Still does not remember settings edits. Cuts off articles on left and right sides on ipad mini. Will not open articles that are the first bold font in list. Removing dates from summaries makes it difficult to recognize old ledes. Frequently will not allow opening off photos.

Can’t read without font size setting. The updates for this app are usually never good so now I don’t update unless absolutely required — which was the case with this latest update. This major update has made the articles unreadable. Please add a font size setting. At this point, I only have the app installed in order to receive news alerts. But I can’t read the articles.

Balanced news source. App could improve.. Well balanced news source without bias, which is rare in news apps, whether conservative or liberal. However the app really drains my iPhone battery and is often jerky. Wish it’s performance could be improved.

I love their app because it is easy to navigate and isn't full of rubbish advertising and unessisarry celebrity news. AP’s long and professional history continues to shine through in their unbiased and comprehensive coverage of global events. Highly recommend this app for accurate journalism.

Limited to USA news. Shows very few news items. What it does show is mostly USA related. Not much use if you live outside the USA. Sometimes crashes on startup. Deleted as a waste of space.

Unbiased. The only unbiased news source

A great news site. This has become my ‘go to’ news site as it covers a good range of local and international news in a trustworthy manner. A great escape from the bias and falsity of the Murdoch press.

why i like ap news - a lot. i find mainstream media often superficial, repetitive and without balance particularly with respect to politics and and disasters while not always without these issues i find ap news generally well ahead of the pack further the articles have enough depth to give a solid base of understanding so that i don’t feel i have ‘wasted’ my time i use two or three news streams to cover all my needs with ap news the first i go to

Unusable tiny text. The article text size is not adjustable. Headlines and titles are. Inaccessible to older readers and those with even mild visual impairment

Topic Settings not saving. When removing topics the app never seems to save the changes and I continue to get too many notifications from topics I have no interest in reading.

Previous version was better and easy to access. Hi! I been using the AP app for more than two years. I was quite happy and satisfied. Nonetheless This version looks more complicated in its outlook and in operating it. The previous version simply had top stories and the geographical regions. In addition for people travelling this new version in some regions and countries can only be accessed and updated via having a VPN . It looks more focused on US news , rather than the international focus. The previous version however did not require such a complex way of connecting to the app. While traveling to the west Asia region now I thus need to use VPN to access the app. Hope and looking forward for you to address these issues. Thanks

Please add. Thanks - I like this app but it would be better if it allowed the temperature to be displayed in Celsius as well as Fahrenheit.

Keeps Logging Out. I like the AP News app, I find the quality of news/reporting is exceptional. But every time the app updates, it logs me out. I find this highly irritating and can’t seem to understand why.

Not good. Very sloppy journalism All sides of a story should be investigated and reported. Very rare to see that here. It should be much better. It appears biased but is better described as sloppy.

Notifications disappear!!. UPDATE 2023-12-17: Version 3.51.333 V3.51.333 Notifications disappear!! Whenever I click on an individual notification, it immediately takes me to the article in the AP app. This is a grand thing! However, all of the remaining AP notifications disappear from the iOS Notification Center. This would not be a problem if within the app there were a place to see all of the latest notifications, but there is not. Please fix this problem. It has been ongoing for at least a year or more. Yet, this app still cannot take someone from clicking on a notification straight to the story in the notification. It’s ridiculously annoying! You click on the notification, and all that does is open the app. Then, you are left scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling some more, sometimes for a story you can never find! Fix this.

Accidental side swipe resets page. …every time! It’s very frustrating to try to find your spot in a long article after the page resets because you accidentally happen to do a slight sideways motion in one of your many scrolls. No other news app resets the page in the same situation.

Unsensational, but biased. I enjoyed AP for a while because their presentation of news felt very straightforward. However, you can tell on a daily basis that they are incredibly far leftwing and the articles are written with gross bias. Uninstalled and looking elsewhere now.

Great for news, hard on the eyes. It’s great to have quick/direct access to what is universally agreed upon to be an unbiased news source. The down side is that I’ve not been able to find a way to make the text size larger. I’m using iOS 16.1.2, reading on my iPhone, and have tried increasing text size via the Control Centre as well as through the Larger Accessibility Sizes option. This app does not appear to support Dynamic Type.

Neutral, factual news. This is one of the few media outlets that provide factual and neutral news then I feel I trust. I hope it stays this way.

Alerts. Anytime I tap on an alert, I’m asked to set my language again. Does not go to the story/headline I tapped on.

No ad-free version. less politically biased news However, there is no ad free version

Opinion based news. If your looking for an unbiased news this is not it. They manipulate thinking by adding one thought into the news. I tried this and it disappointed.

Keeps crashing. Keeps crashing after a few days when starting the app and it does not start. Have to delete the app and reinstall to get it working for a few days before it starts crashing again.

Center Left-. AP is a great news source , but in my small opinion it is sometimes biased to the left. Not really big enough to deter me from reading, but important to keep in mind while I do.

Some shortcomings. I have trouble finding the most important stories on this app. Compared to the Reuters app which I used to use almost exclusively, the AP one seems to have less organization or at the very least, less prioritization of top stories. I would like to know that the feed curates for only what is important. On the AP app I find myself scrolling and scrolling, which is not what I want.

AP. After your newest update your AP app will NOT even open ?????Your app support in the Apple Store won’t even open?????? Wasted membership…….

Boo auto play videos. What the title says.

Garbage Reporting. I was just reading an article about the guy that mowed down and killed 6 people at a parade in Waukesha. AP is using words like “allegedly” and “suspect”. Feels like they are being gentle. He murdered people. Report it as such.

Watch 4. Refuses to update on Apple Watch 4 .

App crashes every time. Cannot read any article without the app crashing.

Can’t enlarge text. Reading some articles is very difficult because they use a grey font on a white background and you can’t enlarge the text when using an iPhone

Disappointing. I accepted the app as a valid source of news, and I am getting notifications on slap fighting! What??? Good bye

Disappointed. I have emailed feedback several times with no reply, no update to issues. The advertisements cause audio from my music app to stop playing. And hijacks the player so I can’t play from my headphones. Other apps play both audio feeds at the same time ( so no excuses ) Also the pop-up alerts freeze the interface and I have to force quit.

Password. Updating my password is not working. Very frustrating.

Watch your biases. Generally like AP but they need to leave their biases at the door. The journalism is top notch and really explains the situation and story well.

What happened?. This app no longer works. For months all I have been able to do is to receive alerts. I can’t open any actual articles or request troubleshooting without the app immediately closing. Is there still a developer reading these reviews?

Topics don't work to curate so it's all USA all the time.. I want to love this app. It's simple, the news stories come up on my Apple Watch - readable and with breaking news - but is it relevant news? No. I was happy to spend time adding topics and sorting them so I'd see what was relevant to me. But the time was wasted as I tried, then retried. And tried again. The topics section does nothing, and even if you delete an irrelevant topic, it undeletes immediately and everything slides back into default order, and it'd all USA, all the time. Add a topic and it's on the list but never appears. So disappointed to delete this.

Detailed, accessible news. It’s a good source of free news that largely covers what I want to know about current affairs.

Re-download the app!. To anyone having trouble open articles, try deleting and re-downloading the app. It resolved the crashing problems I’ve had when opening articles! Great app and great journalism. One of the last few neutral news sources around these days.

Have had this app for awhile. It’s one of a very few trusted sources.. Just truth and factual information and sensible reporting. Even some investigative journalism. No sensationalism. It’s one of two or three sources of news that I read and watch.

Ads. The ads do not allow scrolling…feed freezes.

AP Top Stories. Just got it and especially enjoy the alerts as it happens.

Least Biased News Source. I check the AP daily for news that seems the most balanced and fair. Just this year I have seen a shift towards spinning the news for nearly all the other media outlets, including and especially the New York Times, which I have stopped reading. The Ap has reliable and up-to-date news as it happens.

Very straightforward news app. Unlike nearly all other news apps that are trying to sell you upgrade subscriptions to dozens of other magazines and other outlets, this one just gives you straight news from AP, which is of course more limited than the rich content you might get from something like Apple news, but it’s also free and good enough to catch up on headlines without getting sidetracked into deeper stories like investigative reporting and opinion pieces.

Good basic news app. It’s an easy go to for current headlines, without a drowning of glitz

Good for articles, bad for video. The articles are good, but playing videos usually cause the app to crash.

Has become very biased. As an independent voter looking for sources that don’t offer just one viewpoint, I’m very disappointed in the direction that AP has gone down. There was a time when this was my number one trusted site for a non biased news, now it’s just another left wing outlet.

AP is my “home base” for news. As a retired person, I can read the news at my leisure. I always start with the Associated Press, because the stories are clear-eyed, well-written and pretty much free of bias. (AP is also usually first to get the story, too.)

Don’t know why I still red your left leaning stories. Independant voter here. It’s sad to see you become just as biased as the rest of the far left leaning media companies. Media should stay out of politics and just report stories!

Rename it "DNC propaganda app". Installed for breaking news alerts....instead I get the DNC talking points as pop ups.

Stop the auto play. Unfortunate the app does not allow you to stop auto playing of videos.

Biased Reporting. Clearly biased reporting on presidential candidates and it’s disgusting. We only need factual information without a bias slant. Sick of looking for truth and only finding opinion based articles.

Solid, traditional research and writing. Most other “News” sources are just disguised click-bait. They bury the lead five or six paragraphs down in the body of the article. AP delivers the news quickly, traditionally, easy to get to the facts of the story. Thank you, AP.

Slants Left. Uneven coverage of Presidential race.

Bias. Showing too much bias toward Harris

Cringe level left bias. PAINFULLY socialist views from articles and alerts. Better getting your news from 1st grader, it would be more educated than the devs of this app

News Blast: Trump’s in the2024 Election - not just Harris. Most all the election news stories are on Harris, all favorable too. Very disappointing because the least of my expectations is that AP provide equal coverage of the candidates in the 2024 election. Also disappointing to see is that Harris “stories” are all favorable presenting her as someone who is perfect, can do no wrong, which is clearly incorrect given her past 3.5 years lackluster results.

Marxist Propaganda. I don’t understand how these news organizations get away with reporting Marxist propaganda. This is grossly un-American. DELETED!!!

No longer a reliable source. The AP has long stood as the most reliable source of news but they’ve really gone done over the last few years. Now headlines are sensationalist and misleading. Articles are improperly checked for facts. We’re talking things that can be disproven with 30 seconds of googling that are making it into articles. It’s shameful and disgraceful.

Accessibility issues. I used to go to AP News to read the headlines which would show up on my phones and the stories which accompanied them however, in the last two years, I find that the application has become less and less accessible for those of us who are blind that is to say completely blind. it is impossible to read the story using voice, and it appears that they don’t even care. They have taken an application which was mostly accessible and turned it into an application which is not accessible. It makes me sad.

AP is sadly tainted. Yep, very sad it’s clearly left leaning on everything and far too much opinion and too little actual “news” anymore… Just the way it is for the most part but yah, would love to think the AP of all sources wouldn’t have fallen into the trap they so obviously have… Sad…

Looking for the least biased news. As someone who despises propaganda to its core and cannot understand those participating in it, I’m thankful for this outlet. Please keep up unbiased reporting. I want facts, not promotion of an agenda.

Editorial. Too little news; much opinion

Good App. It’s no nonsense. Articles are easy to read. Works across multiple platforms seamlessly. Love it!

Two liberal. Two liberal.

Too Biased. I wanted a neutral news source but after reading articles for the past few weeks they are mainly left-biased.

Propaganda News Outlet. The Associated Press is suppose to REPORT the News, NOT make the News. Sadly, the AP is no better than the other main stream news outlets and just tries to spin the news. AP is woke and political. This biological male is deleting your app and will never trust your reporting again.

Hacked?. I deleted this app multiple times (never downloaded it in the first place) just for it to redownload itself back onto my phone.

app crashes. every few weeks the app simply won’t load and i have to remove it completely and reinstall it. garbage.

Not loading correctly. News notifications come in, click on notification and app pops up with the article and title, but no body of writing is present. Just a loading wheel that keeps loading. Clicking on articles within the app does the same thing.

Ms. Joy. Unbalanced presentation of basic information. Headlines and verbiage always lean to left of center.

Inane Popups. I have notifications turned off. I get in app "alerts" about non-alert worthy stories.

Associated Press. AP is our most fair and trustworthy news source America has! If only all other news sources were even close to AP’s credibility and standards…. Good and bad journalism should not be the norm. Our population needs to know what is really happening and what’s really important so we all have a better understanding and knowledge pathways. Fake news leader. This is yet another case of the fake news media brazenly lying about a Republican politician. Senator Vance said exactly the opposite of what the Associated Press claimed. It should come as no surprise that the AP lost any and all credibility it had years ago, because they will lie about literally anything in order prop up the Democrats.

Photo galleries don’t open. When you open a new story, the top image displays normally and there’s usually an icon indicating a photo gallery. Tapping this icon does nothing.

App Needlessly Refreshes. It is very annoying that this app fully refreshes the headline listing whenever the app is deactivated then reactivated. If we leave the app to answer a text and go back to it, we shouldn’t be forced to scroll down to find where we were in the list.

Biased 👎. I’ve heard high ratting on this news as priding itself to be non bias. Downloaded it and found it to be the opposite. Some news aren’t reported, others are biased. For example after Harris Trump debate I found an article “Fact Focus: A look at false and misleading claims made during Trump and Harris’ debate”—only one candidates statements were looked at, the other one apparently speaks only truth. This wasn’t the first instance, I noticed that the news reporting has taken a side. Don’t recommend this app at all, doesn’t differ from any other misleading or biased news channels. 👎

Will send a headline literally 3 x an hour very annoying. Also, they are biased, reporting emotionally charged news to bring in more views on Twitter. The headlines about the recent school mass shooting are uncomfortable and do the victims injustice. Do better you disgust me. Deleted app.

Thank God for the Associated Press. Facts. Not biases and agendas. God the Associated Press has become one of the most precious and critical resources available to the American people. I’m not sure that there’s another unbiased new source out there anymore.
