Now With Videos!!. This app was originally a book that they decided to put on the ipod. The book is I think still $20, so for the money, you are already getting a better deal. Now that they added the videos, it is all the better. This book is and can be the only fitness book in your library and you would have no problem ever being "out of shape." Great Book. This is a very dense book with tons of info. If you like the science behind working out this is the book/app for you.

Great workouts. I got this app about a month ago and I have read everything through several times in this app. It has maximized my workout and given me great techniques to reach the maximum in every workout correctly, without injury. Amazing app.

Good app!. It shows you about health,what you do in the navy,what you need to be able to do to join,and it does it in a book of information that you can search or read Get this app I thought it was good at $4.99 before the updates

Running section needs an update. The advice regarding running shoes is out of date and doesn't reflect the latest research regarding foot strike. This statement from the app just plain wrong: While running, the outside of the heel strikes the ground first. This completely ignores the fact that heel striking is inefficient and bio-mechanically incorrect. It also presumes that all runners heel strike, which is just plain wrong.

Fantastic. This app offers a wealth of information for the intense athlete and also even the person looking to get a good start in training hard. I myself don't exercise that much, but I have been able to get a lot of great information from this app nonetheless.

A book plus. This is a book plus some other stuff. I don't know much about the other stuff - I'm enjoying reading the book and pleasantly surprised at the depth, breadth, and that it is appropriate for someone who isn't in the military. As a book you can mark (or unmark) a section as a favorite. I wish there was a way to highlight smaller parts.

Essential!. You don't have to be an operator to find this app useful. This app is a great addition to any one looking to get more out of the gym and improve their fitness game. The add on nutrition supplement is great as well. Even if you do not follow all of the advice listed and use it ala carte style as I do, this is a great tool and an essential addition to anyones fitness library. Being a military contractor, I deploy frequently and this app is useful wherever I am in the world. No matter the equipment or lack thereof, I am able to put together a solid workout and diet plan based on the useful information provided. I highly recommend you buy this app!!

Great app. Very informative. Great app overall. Lots of exercises to choose from. In depth detail (including video) of how to execute each individual exercise. It's got everything from warm-ups/cool-downs to nutrition guides. I only wish it offered more workout plans. Maybe we can get an update soon. But like I said, it's an overall great app. I use it for referencing frequently.

Very Informative, Not a "Diet" Book. This book is not a prefab workout program that tells you exactly what to eat and what exercises to do. This is also not a diet book that claims to have uncovered the secret to easy weight loss. This is a reference book, and its purpose is to explain a wide array of health and fitness concepts so readers can make their own plans and decisions. For this purpose, the Navy SEAL guide is one of the best books on the market. It's clear, thorough, and well organized with loads of helpful information.

The best app I ever bought. This app is worth every penny. It includes everything from the, in print, copy of the Navy SEAL Guide to Fitness plus it includes workouts with video demonstrations and the new Navy operational fitness regimen with video exercise demonstrations. I only wish the expanded Navy SEAL Guide to Nutrition was also included.

Most comprehensive fitness guide I've ever seen. I have done martial arts for 20 years and this is the most comprehensive fitness guide I've ever seen, blows away "Men's Heath," mag stuff, and that stuff is good. I was surprised. Most people think of strength, endurance, and calorie burning when they think about a workout, but this gets into a lot more than that and you learn why Seals would be in much better shape than most anyone and what you'd have to do to get there. Most of us never will, yet trying to do even some of what they're doing put me in much better shape so I have to recommend. It's not surprising that when people who are in this kind of shape go on missions it's usually "mission accomplished."

Thank you for developing this app. Helped me a lot.. I recommend this app to everyone. It is easy to use. You learn from videos and reading the instructions. It would be really cool if there were more videos and maybe 360 degree shootings.

100% Amazing | Worth the money!. For someone like me, a (hopefully) future Navy SEAL, this is amazingly useful. Pocket sized for going anywhere, cheap and very deep explanations. Every exercise category has the different resources you might or might not need, and all types of tips, perfect forms and explanation on how to complete a exercise, videos and pictures, just so much detail! Perfect handbook and app for everything you need for training. Very worth $ 1.99 (also the $.99 for nutrition is very useful too).

Awsome app. Just a absolutely amazing training guide.

Superb guidebook. I rarely write reviews but I just had to for this guide. It is extremely thorough yet efficiently written. One can quickly educate himself on the principles necessary to maintain optimal physical fitness, from body composition and exercise objectives to nutritional needs and safety. This is NOT an exercise program (although some programs are included) but a tool to allow you to develop the right program for yourself and really understand what is happening to your body through the act of exercising. A huge bargain!

Useful App. This is an extremely useful app whether you are preparing for the Navy or just want to get fit. As a kinesiology major I found it to be a great tool to reference, as all of the information here has been pulled directly from college txt books. Highly recommended!

Accurate and detailed oriented - military style!. At first I was a bit weary buying this app because of the previews shown on the app info. However, the previews does not justify how great this app is. By following the SEAL schedule since last month, my couch potato behind, has now been able to do pull ups x] I am also starting to form natural muscles by following the natural foods. Stay away from whey and that powder crap because down the line you will start to have Arnold Schwarzenegger's "present day" body which is indeed looks bad. Just follow the info and and stay committed. A simple yet resultful piece of advice to follow.

Dont waste Money in Gyms: Do these. Simply the best exercise app you will ever find on the Internet.

The Ultimate Health stability manual. 66 y/o retired military. Vary your workouts. Whether it’s swimming, biking, running, etc. there are numerous way to vary your workout routine to keep from getting bored and giving up on fitness.

Great App. I decided to purchase this app because I was looking for a fitness guide that I could have with me wherever I go. This is the perfect app. It is affordable and I now feel more knowledgable about exercising and eating right. I recommend the nutrition in-app purchase which contains a vast wealth of knowledge as well.

Alpha-Beta. Alpha-Beta The best app for the average male, very precisely detailed; not only for the task at hand but for anybody that uses the apps info from Calisthenics to Traditional gym.

Simply the BEST!. I do a lot of marathons and mud runs this app is on point and the best in instructional advice. I workout daily and it's really motivates you to push harder without noticing what your doing to yourself...(if you follow what they say). Just from changing my diet a little, and wearing a weighted vest every two days. I went from running a 8mile pace to 7-6:5 pace. It'll be nice if they would make a gps with a drill sergeant. coaching you.

Lots of substance.. Perpetuates some myths. The book notes that supplements like protein powders are bad for the kidneys. This is an old myth and only true if you have a kidney issue already. The book advocates a diet high is carbs especially high glycemic ones which are definitely bad if you don't do the physical activity to burn the off. There is a lot of information in this book and most of it is good but there is a lot of old myths and few scientific facts to backup the information.

Review?. This app is great. It has a lot of great information and it’s organized well.

Good guide!. This app is thorough and informative; some of it is basic while other parts are textbook material. My only complaint is that you cannot highlight text, and then look up what's been highlighted. Requires a lot more than just glancing over once to read and comprehend.

Very precise and extensive. A complete breakdown of anything and everything you need to know about physical exercise.

Search. Looked briefly over the contents of this app. and as is, it's outstanding. The search function is not working as all page results are set to go to pg. 0; nothing occurs when trying to go to the section describing your query. I'm certain that this correction will be coming up in a future release but as is I can't say enough to congratulate for a great product and recommend that anybody interested in properly exercising refer to this source for prompt and reliable information.

This app is a gem filled with fitness knowledge.. An underrated app that actually has more in it than any actual fitness app I’ve ever had. This isn’t an app for logging your workouts. It’s an app for understanding and comprehending your workouts. Calculators and formulas are built into it. There are nice progression charts and annual training routines. It’s a little difficult to actually find a routine to follow though, as it seems you are expected to know how to create the balanced workout yourself after learning. So make sure you read and don’t expect a quick copy paste and follow this routine approach. If this app released a re-skinned “civilian” focused version complete with workout programs to match its progression charts, it’ll probably be the best app on the market.

Fully comprehensive exercise science app, it has all the information you need to get in top shape.. This app is great in terms of content, I own the book which this app is based in and they are interchangeable. Plus, with the videos, easy navigation, and extra content this app is a beast!

Navy SEAL Fitness. This is a great app for those who are looking to increase their speed, stamina, endurance and over all strength. This is app is truly ideal for those of us SEAL/SWCC hopefuls who are working hard to get the much needed score on the PST. Great info on runs, swim training and weight training. Also has a lot of info on injury prevention. Worth every penny.

Not a quick fix. You will actually have to read and invest in learning to benefit from this app, then you will actually have to invest in putting the time in to apply what you have learned. You will get out of it, what you put into it. Look elsewhere for instant gratification or gimmicks, this is about hard work, efficiency and dedication.

Great app!. This app is comprehensive and easy to use. All types of fitness activities are described and explained. There is even a built-in calculator that you can use anytime without leaving the app, and the app keeps a record of your calcs. There are all kinds of workouts described for different purposes, with scientific explanations should you want them. I have had this app for a couple of years, and the updates for iPads are wonderful!

Great app well worth the money. This app is full of sound information that is presented in a well structured format. There are videos, calculators, etc. The information will help you to make life changes and will help carry your drive farther. Excellent app for any pre-SEALs out there and SEAL wannabes. I ended up not joining and going to med school, but this is still is a great resource for me.

A great source of information!. The app provides you not only with a great source of info running by every training method available but dogs deep down IMO the terminology and gives you charts o help you determine how and where you are. The app also gives you workouts for any type of training situation for every type of workout (I.e. running swimming rowing cycling etc.) overall just an amazing app. I am a USAF pararescuemen and this has helped improve me on a daily basis!

Great App!. Very educational and informative. We'll designed and easy to navigate. You won't find a better app for learning the best way to become and stay fit. And who better to learn from than the toughest, most resilient men on the planet? If I could only have one app this would be it! So much info I always have something to read. Calculators are awesome as well!

Awesome App. I gotta say I use it for regular activity which I learn a lot from this app like exercise, foods to eat and I like it how I can keep update with the activities of how much I burn. I actually understand how it explains facts with everything of how the member needs to be train and be ready for the fight sad but, true. These people are very brave salute them all the way and may God bless them.

The Best Out There. As a former U.S. Marine, many of these workouts bring me back to when we would conduct PT in the mornings. There is no better fitness instructor out there than someone who is or was prior military, especially the SEALs. These guys know what fitness is and anyone who doesn't listen to their techniques is a fool. So bottom line is this, follow their workouts and mix them up to suit your lifestyle and I promise you you will be in great shape. You won't become a SEAL and take out targets like OBL, but you will know what REAL fitness truly is.

Northwest Wildland Firefighter. Very organized and detailed with advanced physiology concepts that are explained with easy to understand language. Forever changed my life and improved my fitness and overall quality of life.

Great app if you're looking for workout suggestions, not routines!. Because I'm training to go to the USNA with the ultimate goal of becoming a SEAL officer, this app works great for me. After using it for a time, you realize that working out just isn't about pushing to your max 100% of the time, looking like a fool doing it! It teaches you how to get the best results with whatever effort you put in. Great app!

One more thing. Its overall a good app and has a lot of valuable information that i am prepared to use. I just wish they had some table or graph that can help organize a daily nutrition diet, and a workout schedule just to keep me on track and enter the navy prepared. If they already do then i have not found it.

You get more than you pay for!!!. This is a great app for physical fitness. It doesn't just cover Navy Seal fitness, but fitness in general. You have so much information in the palm of your hand and for less than a dollar you can't go wrong. I have invested in a lot of books for fitness and this by far is one of the better ones.

Navy seals. This app is really great for gaining comprehensive knowledge in fitness and motivating yourself to train better and harder. It's well written and has valuable tips. Worth the buy, worth the read. I bought it two years ago and I'm re-downloading it to read it again.

Fantastic!. I wish this was out earlier for the general public. This has helped me to understand what I need to do to progress through the levels of fitness required not just for a normal healthy life but to aim for a higher goal in a safe manner.

So that's why there so good.. A book that tells you not only how to do something but more importantly why you are doing it. And with the addition of workout videos gives you even more to think on.

Comprehensive but seemingly outdated.... This is a great app that covers so much but I am concerned that the data may be a little outdated. While it has a great amount of information, it needs a more interactive component so you can take the information and build it into a program for your own personal use.

Pretty good app. Lots of good info. I was hoping for workouts and routines.

Simply the best!. This is all tried, tested, and true. Need I say more? It works.

Don't buy.. Very little useful information. I found nothing to improve on my workout regime, just a lot of fluff. In app add-ons may be what I was looking for, but I'm discouraged by the base app content.

Really nice format. I remember perusing this title about four years ago as a scanned PDF file I bought off the Internet, printing it was a monstrous task, the finished book was probably four to six inches thick! I killed a forest that day :( I wish I had waited for the iPhone version. This is so much easier to read and is pleasant to go through quickly now. The info is still relevant to develop a great conditioning program. I hope they have other books, I really like this reader. Thanks!

Excellent reference tool. Great for designing meal plans and work out routines. Very informative and helpful. I often cross check online to verify information is up to date and have no complaints so far. This app is definitely one of my most used!

Great alternative to Regular workout programs. I've found this book valuable in helping me break the monotony of free weight training and it will come in handy when a gym is not available.

Navy Seal Fitness. I have been using the hardcopy version of this book for two years as the base for my physical fitness training. As a firefighter I need to be in top physical condition to meet the demands of the job. This is an excellent publication for that purpose. I would recommend it for users at any level of physical fitness.

Love this!!. I love this app! I'm training to become SWCC and when I heard about this app I had to get it. Since the SEAL and SWCC PST is similar, I figured that if I train for the SEAL PST, then I'll have a great chance of getting my Spec Ops contract for SWCC. Even if you're not in the military or plan on joining the military, who wouldn't want to be as fit as a SEAL?? 5 stars!!!

It's . . . o.k. . . .. O.K. I spent 1.99 because I thought I would be able to load the app on my iPod Touch and use it at the gym . . . tried to load it 4 times and each time I only got 3 1/2 pages !! It works fine on my iPad, but I ain't hauling that to the gym . . . get it to load on my iPod Touch and you got 5 stars. p.s. the iPod Touch is 4th gen w/ latest iOS. NEW rating is 5 STARS . . . Excellent reference and a must read for any fitness trainer or anyone who needs another POV . . . I probably wouldn't have read this at the gym, not the place to read !!! BUY IT!!

Great Information!. I am very impressed with this application. It has loads of information on the body, different types of fitness plans, and prepares you to be in top tier shape!

I like it.. The app has a ton of information. Find what benefits your situation and build upon it. Some exercises are not going to be beneficial for guys coming off serious injury trying to get back into fighting shape. However, this will help point one in the right direction.

Vet. As a vet and former BUD/S candidate this app has a lot of basic information that most forget to cover and a much more detailed/in depth look at what level of fitness is required. Worth the money and worth the read for anyone from novice civilian to service member.

Outstanding. I am a personal trainer / amateur boxer / rock climber and currently studying for my excise sconce degree. This app is very informative and spot on with specific training techniques. I grew up around the ocean, and this app has answered a lot of questions I had about improving my open water swimming!

Good info. Bit of a learning curve for interface but great information and calculators. Would have liked the exercises to be grouped by muscle group but I'm sure there is a good reason why they are not.

Very Informative. This is a great App. I am educated in Personal Training, I attended National Personal Training Institute (NPTI), and everything this App offers I could've used to pass all of my tests. This would work great with Infomercial fitness programs too.

So much great info, one place!. I am a college student looking to be involved in Navy Medicine in the near future. This is a great app to help me get fit and prepare to meet Navy standards. There is so much great fundamental information about fitness and nutrition and I love the included calculators such as BMI, Caloric intake need, and body fat percentage.

Worth it. Nice app, great for reference. Love the calculators to get your target heart rate, BMI, etc... Well worth the price and easier to use than most guides and references. Photos would have made it perfect, but its close!

I like. I spent 6 years in the army, and the pt was way too easy. I've done ranger pt, and that was a little tougher. This app has helped me build a better routine in training for the pararescue.

Good book but.... The app has everything about fitness. What I'm really looking for is an app with exercises that don't require gym equipment. That I can do without a n y thing but my body cause I don't have weights. Please put in more of those.
