Maximum age limit on Minesweeper?. I’ve loved this version of Minesweeper for years. I opened the app today and was immediately prompted with a request to enter my birth date, which I found slightly strange, however what I found stranger than that was when I tried to put in my birth year of 1955 it wouldn’t let me set it higher than 1970. There seems to be no way to skip this inquiry to play the game at this time. I understand the purpose having a minimum age requirement for certain games, but what is the point of this? I could lie about my age to get in, but instead I decided to put my thoughts out here in hopes of getting an answer. I can’t be the only person 52+ playing Minesweeper. It’s a classic!

Fix level generation. It's not exactly exhilarating gameplay to have to keep refreshing and not being able to play the game because the first click leads to a single "3" or something. Nothing to go off of, and all I can do is randomly tap around for the HOPE that I might have something to actually get started with but to no avail. Half the time I do get a half-decent start, it leads nowhere. And I'm talking no 121 rule, no patterns, it's just a rectangle that forces you to guess into another dead end. I'd rather go to Google minesweeper, except for the fact that I can't play it offline. It's a mediocre minesweeper port at best until they make the game playable. I enjoy minesweeper for the logical solutions and satisfaction from being able to clear it based on what I've learned. Not constantly guessing because the level generation gives you nothing to work off of. Disappointing, looked promising. Maybe it's just the advanced difficulty, but even then Google minesweeper is better in all respects.

Buggy and luck based. Once you get to the bigger puzzles there are always spots where you are completely unable to deduce the squares with actual logic. Because of this in every game you will HAVE to guess and rely on luck, meaning you can make it to the final, say, 10 squares and have to guess, leaving all your progress and hard work up to pure chance which can cost you the game if you get unlucky. Need to have better puzzle creators that get rid of this error. No minesweeper puzzle should rely on luck at any point. Not to mention several times whilst playing one of the larger puzzles the app will kick me out and reset everything. Seriously needs to improvement

The Game is Fine but Plagued with Ads. The game works fine, but creating a minesweeper game is not really that big of a feat to begin with. Placing flags is a pain and not at all convenient the way in which the UI is set up. However, the real reason this only gets two stars from me is the 30-second ads that you get sometimes consecutively after multiple losses. As everyone know some games can be as quick as a few seconds, so getting a 30-second ad after a game is a huge pain and a real turn off. I’ve had this app for months and I forget I even have it because I stop playing after 5 minutes of game play spammed with 3 or 4 30-second ads. For a game that used to be a default free game with every computer back in the day, this an actual hump that I can’t get over. Uninstalling.

It’s a good version, just slightly inconsistent. I randomly downloaded this because I wanted to get back into minesweeper and for the most part it’s a great version of the classic game. At times tho, there are inconsistencies. In confidence, I’ll press some of the spaces that I know aren’t mines and it’ll be a mine because they put the wrong number of mines sorroundingnit. For example, ‘any times there will be a 1 and I already found the mine touching that 1 so i’ll press the other ones and there’s another mine???? It doesn’t happen every game but when it does it’s super annoying because i’m essentially wasting my time on a level where i’m set up to lose.

Used to be a favorite, not anymore. I’ve played this game for years, and it was a great reprise of the windows classic. In the past few months, though, the developers upped the amount of ads. I only noticed recently noticed, and now I can’t stand the game. It had always had banner ads which were fine. Now, the banners seem to be more animated, distracting me from the game. Also, there now are full screen ads after some games. I play the game with the sound off, but the ads have full volume. I now can’t play the game in some places as it’d be inappropriate to have an ad start blaring because I won a game. There is an ad free subscription, but I feel it is over-priced at $6.99 or so a month. I would do that Pe year, but not per month.

Obnoxious first impression.. After losing a game you are immediately bombarded with ads and prompts to leave a review. After writing this, the prompts lessened, but I find that I think the 90’s PC version was still superior if only because you could see your failure there, whereas here it immediately cuts to a different screen, which is kind of jarring and doesn’t allow me to reflect on my mistake. When also paired with non-stop prompts to leave a review after EVERY GAME, it’s also really obnoxious. It’s just kind of dumb to expect a review after I’ve played the game less than a minute. I guess they want my first impression… well, it’s negative.

Tons of ad’s and a UI that has gotten way worse. Filled with ad’s everywhere. Also, app refused to load when I was not connected to internet (on a flight); It just kept trying to load an ad and would not let me play without loading the ad first. The UI has gotten considerably worse compared to when I first started using the app. There’s a ‘Game Lose’ animation that takes seconds to complete before the “New Game” and “Try Again” options load. Also, why was the “View Board” option removed? If you want to see your board after a mistake, you have to press New Game and then back in order to see it. Took me a while to realize that, and even now I’d say it doesn’t make sense. None of the recent updates or changes have made the app any better; It just loads more ad’s (to make more money…) and makes using it more annoying. I had used this app for years, but will be looking for a replacement since this one is a pain to use now.

STOP! May be SCAM. Apple password?. Something shady going on here. when I first launched the app, I got a pop up asking for my Apple ID. It looked legit and I thought it popped up for something else. I almost wrote it too cuz I was distracted, but then stopped and realized that was odd, I never seen a game ask for Apple ID out of nowhere, especially the beginning while it’s asking you acces to your notifications. So I deleted the game, reinstalled, closed everything and it asks me again. You can just hit cancel and it goes right back and you can play. Why would a game asked for your Apple ID password at the beginning of the game, when there no purchases or any other I can see that it’ll pop up. Has anyone played a game before that ask for Apple ID like this? Anyone give this game their password and experienced funny things going on. What’s the deal guys? I’m giving you guys the Benefit of the doubt, cuz it could mistake or glitch. If this comment ends up being missing somehow, I will report this game. I should’ve already.

Near Impossible to Play More than One Game in a Row. This game is infuriating. There are too many ads before and after every game. I got 3 ads in a row after losing a game. It brought me to this aggravatingly slow retry/start over screen. After tapping play again, I got another 2 ads in a row. In the game that I did get to play, I only got to tap on 4 squares before tapping on an ad. I play minesweeper a lot. My lowest time on hard is 64 seconds. It’s not uncommon to play 10+ games per minute before you get a good board. Even then, it’s more common than not to get multiple 50/50 chance squares in any given game. So to have up to 5 ads in between games, each taking roughly 15 seconds each, this game becomes unplayable. Add to this the fact that the monthly premium option is an outrageous $13/month. This is crazy. The game is slow and glitchy too. Even as I write this review, my keyboard keeps going away. The problem isn’t my phone either, I have an iPhone 14 pro. Don’t waste your money on this game. I’m going to uninstall it. It’s pretty bad.

I’m 100% confident that this is the worst version of minesweeper I’ve ever played.. #1. The game was not coded properly. Starting the game is notoriously difficult because there are no guaranteed tile reveals on your first click, which means you’ll be losing 20 games at random in order to simply start playing with enough context to make educated guesses. #2. As if being able to simply start a game of minesweeper in this version was difficult enough, you will also be shown an ad after every time you fail and have to reset to try again. Ads were not shown as often as they were not long ago, so this implies that the developers of this app only recently decided to up the rates at which they’ll be shown. Both of these problems should be of small significance considering it’s standard for these apps to shove advert down your throat, however, when two problems tie so critically with one another, it’s a recipe for frustrating your player base and forcing them to find better alternatives of this app. With that, I’ll now uninstall this app and never touch anything these developers release again. Don’t put yourself through torture, everyone. There are far better versions of minesweeper on the App Store for the time being.

Liked it better before the update. What used to be one of my favorite games - simple, straightforward, and fun - has been ruined with the new updates. Every time you lose it brings you to a screen where you have to click to start a new game (graphics telling you “Lost Game” takes several seconds, and then it brings you to the settings page (annoying to get out of) or an ad. The new paid updates seem fine if you want to pay, but if you don’t want to pay the ads for it are annoying. I understand l they want to keep relevant and make money, and it has made it tedious and unappealing. I’m fine watching an ad every few games, it’s a business and I get that. The change where it feels clunky and not streamlined is my main issue.

Works just like it should.. I searched for minesweeper a couple of weeks ago after remembering playin this on a PC as a teenager. I loved this game. I like this app because the ads are sparse and unobtrusive, the game play is consistent, fast, and seems to work like it should. I’m glad in download, even though it negatively affects my productivity. A couple of notes for the developer: 1) Though I play in the “Difficult” mode, the stats page records every game I play in the “Medium” mode. It actually says I’ve played zero difficult games but won 234 of those zero games. So there’s a slight glitch in the stat recording. 2) If I’m listening to a podcast or music while playing it forces the music to stop. It doesn’t always happen right away, but it eventually does. Minesweeper takes over as the active audio player even though Minesweeper has no audio. That’s annoying and always ends with me ceasing to play.

Nearly perfect version of the classic game. This is nearly a perfect version but with one GLARING problem. Random sounds will start playing in background with Bp way to shut off without shutting down the game. The only positive is that when you open app again, you start off where you were. If this is a way to get me to pay to remove the ads, it’s a pretty crappy way to do that. Fix that and allow to change tile design without paying for it and you’ll get a 5-star rating from me.

Too Many Ads. It’s a good game but way too many ads. I normally only play hard mode, and when I choose my first tile it normally only reveals that one tile, so I am forced to tap blindly on the blocks surrounding that tile, hoping for the best. Due to this you will lose most games in the first few taps. After you lose an ad immediately pops up. After I finish watching that ad, I will try to start a new game, then another ad pops up. Then I finally get to start a new game, just to lose in the first few taps, and restart the whole process. However, once you finally get a good/lucky start the game is very fun. On average I will have 3-5 games that I die in the very beginning, for every 1 game that I actually make progress. So I’ll end up watching 6-10 ads for every 1 game of minesweeper, which I find unacceptable.

Best one out of a crappy lot. I wanted to give it less stars but all the other minesweepers are even worse. The two things that really irk me are the zoom out on game over and the ads making your music stop. The first is going to stop me from playing and I will literally have to stop because it’s making my eyes hurt from the constant zooming actions. The second is annoying but I can deal with it. There was one minesweeper that allows you to toggle off the zoom out on game over but the animation on placing a bomb for that game is too slow to make it playable. I really just wish the devs here would get rid of the zoom because I don’t understand the need for it at all. I only play the biggest board

Good but Flawed. This is a very good app and playing the classic minesweeper is simple and fun. The major problem I have with this app is that it does not allow me to listen to music while in the app. Unlike other apps where they just pause the music when they load, this one actively stops music and audio from playing at all times while in the app even though no audio is needed for the game. The gameplay and features are great but I don’t use it as much as I normally would because of the audio problem which should have been fixed in past updates.

Win/Lose Animation takes too long. A while ago when I first had this app, after winning or losing there was no animation and you could instantly start a new game. I know some people just play casually or try to up their win percentage, but I play for the fastest time on normal mode. When my average time is about 40s, it adds a lot of frustration to go through a winning and losing animation after every game. I can play over a hundred games an hour, and it just adds a lot of time. I love the rest of the app, it’s the best U.I. of any of the minesweeper apps out there. But I can’t bring myself to use it with the win and lose animations. If there could just be a setting to turn it off, dependent on your preference, that’d be great. This app used to not have those animations, so I feel it would not be hard to implement. I don’t see the appeal to the animations anyways, since it’s pretty clear when a bomb lights up that you lost. Or when the smiley face pops up in the middle you’ve won. And the win animation doesn’t even include the time you got.

*Almost* perfect; great game. The game is great, and nothing works poorly. It’s easy to use, has a nice personal statistics menu and 3 different modes. The only change id like to see is a much bigger flag button. There have been many times where I’m trying to go quickly for a good time, but tap half a centimeter below the button and mess up. It would make sense to me, given the game has a timer and stats based around how quickly you can solve it. But other than that, this game is great!

Worse and worse. Ads galore. The interface is so bad that it takes eight or 10 seconds before you can start a new game when one of them ends. This may not sound like a lot, but if you are playing at a level where there are a lot of minds, it could take 10 or 15 tries before you can open an area to get started. Every time, you lose, a bunch of text slowly populates the screen, and then another screen appears before you can start a new game. It is a total waste of time. And now, in the most recent version, ads pop up and swipe across the screen in the middle of games that you have to delete. if you like to play at difficult levels, this version of mine sweeper is definitely not the one you want to get. Move on.

Game over screen. I have been enjoying this game for a while however at high difficulties I have to guess mines in order to have a decent start that I can logically build on. In guessing process normally I'd fail many times which is disturbing itself. What makes it even worse is that each time I have to wait for the game over screen and animation which is around 4 seconds which is a very long time for a repeated guessing process. Hopefully some adjustment would be made regarding the start on higher difficulties or at least making the result screen optional so the player can choose either view score or instantly restart by the clicking the classic emoji face.

Good. Add a function.. I have played over 100 hours on this game over the past four months, and have recently cleared the difficult board in 188 seconds. I end up spending a few seconds tapping for a flag, and unflagging a flag if I make a mistake, so if the developers were to allow me to specify the time it takes to flag a flag, and i were to be able to make it barely longer than revealing a block, I’d be able to clear the board faster than my current speed potential of roughly 165.

Great game. Frustrating app.. Fun game. I would normally rate 5 stars for this game but not this last download. When you start a game the time on the game gets frozen due to the adds either loading or processing. Very frustrating. Time stops. Everything freezes for a period of time. Sometimes 20 seconds, sometimes more and repeats. After it allows you to start again it freezes for another time period. It has to do with the adds at the bottom of the screen coming on or changing, in my opinion. I don’t mind the adds but not every 20 seconds and freezing my game. No way to go fast and improve your time. It didn’t use to be like this. It seems adds are more important now than the game. Hopefully someone can look into this and get it corrected with a future update.

Good game play. Very true to original. I enjoyed playing Minesweeper on Windows 3 years ago. I found this to be the best app of its type. Some ads can be a little long. A 25 second ad after a 3 second game is over the top. I would say that this game has the potential to spend more time viewing ads than actually playing the game. I just opened the app after a time away from it. Now it starts with a pop up asking me to confirm my date of birth before I can play it. That’s very intrusive. I get that this game owes its existence to the developer who wants to sell ads, but it’s just a game! I don’t play too many other games on my iPad, but none of them care how old I am.

Good overall, game breaking bugs though.... I really enjoy this game. It’s as Minesweeper as it gets. The only problem is that on more than one occasion, the numbers do not match the amount of mines that are actually in the grid. For example, a box would indicate there are 3 mines when in fact there are 4. I’m not sure if this is caused by the “flagging” feature where you can flag a box you’re sure has a mine, and therefore making the game not count that box as a mine anymore. If so, i have bo clue why that is.

Technically Works. Of course, I don't give 5 stars to an app for that technically works. I actually downloaded this one because a different app didn't let you zoom out. However, that doesn't mean it's perfect. Here's just a short list of adjustments I'd appreciate: • When you start a game, it should always clear a small field. This is a logic game, not a guessing game. The player should always know where the next mine is by deduction alone, not chance. • The new game button should be on top, available with one tap, not two. • A feedback option directly in the app. I shouldn't have to review the app to give feedback.

The ads are annoying. While I understand the purpose of ads, these are horrible. They show between each game. The ads are all video demos of other games, with sounds, and you can’t skip over them. After playing the game for about 30 mins, the app became buggy and it kept freezing. I’d tap the screen and nothing would happen. Then tap again and again. Then it would catch up on all my taps and sometimes it’d be on a bomb! Grrrr. Then I have start over after watching another ad. Overall this is a great rendition of the original, but so the ads have to consume so much of the experience?

Almost a perfect mobile minesweeper. The game is fantastic! However, I noticed that I still run into a similar issue as another reviewer had a year ago. When I start a new game, while the first spot I press may always be safe, sometimes it will only expose that one tile. It is a fantastic game, and if I open more than one usually I can win a game if I'm not dumb. However, it is frustrating when you cannot always win. Because you hit a bomb and had no openings, and even more frustrating when the game tracks your success rate. This needs to be fixed. I should not be rage quitting Minesweeper. Almost perfect port of minesweeper!. I’ll just start out by saying that if you’re looking for an overall good minesweeper game then look no further. This game is a very good, classic strategy game and these developers brought it over to mobile and it works amazingly. I’ve noticed and love the feature where if I’ve flagged the mine and the the number the rest of the tiles get revealed without having to be tapped; it’s a real quality of life improvement. The ads on this game are not very intrusive and are added in very well. The only issue I have with the game is when starting a new game ( in this version) your first tile that you tap will be a freebie. This is good and is how things should be. The issue arises when only one number is revealed and I’m forced to tap blindly around the number until I can find a larger field (or empty space). I find that most new games will end on the first few taps because I have no options but to randomly tap around my first number and hope for the best. There are some other versions of minesweeper that fix this issue by making your first tap reveal a nice field with plenty of options to go and spread out. It doesn’t even have to be huge; just large enough to give a new game a chance to go on. All in all the game has no problems except for the one mentioned above and that really isn’t that big of a problem just more of an annoyance than anything else. I definitely recommend this game.

Great interface but needs a fix for 5 stars. I love everything about how this app runs this classic and addicting game. There is a fix that should be addressed, however, that multiple other reviews mention. The first click should always reveal more than just one box (per how the game has historically been) so the game can get started without disrupting stats. It’s rather annoying on difficult having to start over multiple times because my first click only reveals one box which can’t get me started. Often times my next few clicks across the board only reveal one as well until I inevitably hit a bomb and have to start over.

An amazing game ruined by Ads. I love this game and how it has been adapted to use on an iPhone. However, there are two main issues working together: the random guessing of single tiles to start the game (as talked about by many other reviews) in tandem with the frequency and length of Ads that play after a small x amount of attempts. The problem is, I’ll take anywhere from 5-10 single taps to get a game going, but in that span of 5-10 tries I’ll get up to 3 ads! At that point I’d have spent 90% of my time watching ads instead of actually using the app. I liked the game better when the ads were less frequent. Nowadays I’ll exit the app after the second ad cuz it’s truly a waste of time. There’s nothing worse than watching a middle aged man fail easy games for 30 seconds just because you can’t randomly guess a lucky combination of tiles on the first go. at least make them good ads :(

Frustrating for a few reasons. It’s absolutely saturated with ads. That’s par for the course at this point. The problem is that there’s another full screen ad every time you lose a game. Most games are lost on the second or third tap, when you’re still poking around looking for a starting point. So it goes tap, tap, tap, hit a mine, watch 5 seconds of an ad, wait for the X to show up, tap the X, wait for the X to show up on the SECOND part of the ad, accidentally tap one pixel to the side of it, exit the App Store page it just opened, and repeat this about five times just to get a game started where I can start applying actual logic. On top of that, I’ve lost games because it randomly doesn’t register my long tap to place a flag and blows up the mine instead. And then it’s time to watch 5 more ads.

Decent Game with problems. The game itself is fun. The gameplay is smooth, ad integration is good, but there are 2 major problems. First of all when you start a new game and hit a tile, there is a good chance that it will reveal 1 number and not a larger playable space. When this happens you have to randomly tap around which makes the game somewhat impossible. I think the issue is caused by each play having a set board and your taps being random. An easy fix would be to set the board after the first tap so you get a playable space. The other issue is sometimes the numbers glitch and display the wrong number. At first I thought this was just me but I looked and saw that the number is wrong. For example there would be a 1 with 2 bombs surrounding it or a 2 with 3 bombs. These issues could be overlooked if they didn’t happen as often. If these issues could be fixed this could easily be a 5 out of 5 game.

Update. This was honestly the best minesweeper app I had ever used. I have definitely played at least a hundred hours on this app alone, love the game and this app was one of the best way to do it. But most of what I loved is missing with this new update. The very barebones settings design and a game meant purely just to play the game. Now they added animations when you win and lose, take away being able to see what you did wrong after you die (making it much harder to learn from your mistakes), which overall makes the gameplay much slower and less satisfying. I completely understand that creators can do what they want with their creations, I just have to say that what they added to it took away most of the appeal this game had to me personally.

Really Recommend (but fix some things please). This has been the only minesweeper app I have ever used. I have had it for many years now. It’s efficient and clear. I highly recommend it compared to other apps out there. There are three issues with the app however and I really wish the developers would fix them!! Firstly, the records section never really makes much sense and doesn’t record my times correctly or even in the right difficulty section. The second is that there are times where I will play a specific board and then the next time I open the app to play, the first game is the exact same board. It happened for weeks once and it was fun to see how much of the board I could memorize but it’s an overall glitch. My last issue is the most frustrating. The ads on the app stop my music from playing mid-game. I don’t mind if an ad has noise but it should silence my music when an ad is not being played. For the love of god find a way to fix that. At this point, nothing is going to make me switch to another minesweeper app but there’s room for improvement with this one.

Great game but.... Overall I've had a lot of fun with this app! I used to lose a lot of games due to accidentally clicking a square instead of putting a bomb, but I got used to how the game goes and that hardly happens now. Something that is bothering me though is that sometimes when I go to start a game, I have to click multiple boxes before I get anything to work with. So the first box I click may only reveal that box, which obviously doesn't help at all. So I've lost multiple games due to that, especially the higher I go in difficulty. I'm even looking at other apps, because I'm struggling getting the more difficult games started because of it. Other than that I don't have any complaints. The adds are bearable.

almost perfect. i love minesweeper. my best time on expert is 1:43 and i am trying to get down to 1:30. i got the ad free version and it makes a huge difference!! i only have 2 complaints. most times the first tile you pick is just 1 number. my stats go way down because i just randomly tap tiles until i get a playable space. the other thing is the “GAME LOST” cutscene. it takes so long. i wish it would just pop up or end the game and you can immediately start a new game instead of waiting for the cutscene to finish. otherwise, really great game.

slight problem. okay so it definitely is minesweeper, there is no doubt about that. you can play the classic game. in fact it maintains the box that lets you put in your name when you break a record despite not offering a way to see the top scores which is funny, but perhaps pointless. the only issue i have is that it automatically pauses any music or podcast you might be listening to, which sort of ruins the fun of playing a game like minesweeper! i don’t know why it does that because as far as i can tell, the game itself has no music or sound effects built into it, it just decides to inconvenience you for no particular reason. if that was fixed, it would be five stars. i’m not one to care about ads (though you can get back to back ads when you lose and when you start a new game), i just wish i could listen to music and play the game at the same time, like how i can with other phone games.

Latest Update isn’t so great ):. I’ve had this game on my phone for years and always enjoyed it. A very simple app, perfect for periods of no cell service. That’s what I enjoyed about it. That’s why I’m giving the app 3 stars despite removing it. This latest update has added one feature that has caused me to remove the app from my phone: that “try again/new game” screen that pops up within 0.1 milliseconds of clicking on a bomb. It prevents everyone from seeing the board solution and it slows down starting a new game. The other features that came with the latest update seem to be great, and I don’t even mind the ads (they’re unobtrusive). I just don’t like being unable to see the solution of a difficult board.

Couple tiny issues. I enjoy the app, however there are a couple things to take note. There is always a mine in the bottom left corner of the map on the beginner difficulty. Also, sometimes it seems as though more mines will appear next to a tile than stated by that tile. The latter is most likely only a misunderstanding, however it still probably still worth looking into looked into (if there isn’t anything of much importance on your desk). At the end of the day, I like playing this classic game and probably won’t really care if any changes from now occur.

Ads and one number tiles. The ads that interrupt you with a 30 second video when you finish a game or lose aren’t good for the player. I get distracted by the ads and it throws me off my game. The best ads are the ones that you can close right after they pop up. Please show these and these only. Normally when you start a game, you will always open to an open space with plenty of options to go. But this app makes it so you usually open to a single number and from there, it becomes a guessing game. I still have fun but sometimes this issue becomes so bad that I find myself losing 5+ times in a row because I couldn’t guess where a mine was gonna be based on a single number. All of this, just for my single attempt that got sort of far to be interrupted by a 30 second video ad when I lose. You can see how it can get really frustrating. Hope these issues can be acknowledged somehow.

New “Game Over” Screen. I like to play my game with the most possible bombs on the map, so I fail a lot. It used to be that I could instantly start a new game by tapping the face at the top of the screen, which was fast and enjoyable to the experience. However, this new update added a new game over animation that is impossible to skip. There is no option to turn it off, and it ruins the ability to simply reset and continue the game. Instead, I have to wait for the animation to play out before I can reset. In addition, the new update has thrown out the ability to look over your mistake. If I am doing well and I suddenly lose, I want to be able to look where I made a mistake. Overall, this new update has ruined my experience, and I hope there is a version rollback coming soon.

ADS will make you lose your mind. I’ve had this app for years and always loved it. In the last couple months, though, the ads have gotten totally out of hand. When you hit your first tile, it rarely results in a big playable space; it’s usually just one number. This makes the odds good that you’re going to hit a bomb before you actually get to make any real plays. This has always been a minor annoyance with this app, but it is making the game actually unplayable now when combined with the ads. After EVERY single one of these micro games, where you hit two cells before deploying a bomb and having to start over, a 30-second ad plays. It’s painful. And I will be looking for another app because of it. Ugh.

So buggy since the update. I play this all the time when I have mindless time to kill and it’s SO BUGGY. Freezes literally all the time. I’ll mark a bomb or click and open a space and then I take a few seconds to figure out the next move and when I go to click or mark the next box the whole screen is frozen. Have to close out completely and restart to resume. Doing this 40 times in a 10 minute period gets old and disruptive to my mindless time and I’m seriously considering deleting. Downloaded a few other versions to try. Hopefully they won’t freeze constantly. If they work this one is likely gone.

Better, less glitchy minesweeper apps out there. TRY A DIFFERENT APP. This game has a few issues that I don’t love and IT WILL LOSE YOU YOUR GAME. I’ve gotten very far on the hardest board multiple times only for a glitch to lose me the game. Issues I’ve found after less than 3 hrs of playing: 1) It allows you the option to long press to flag, but if you don’t press for long enough, it taps the bomb. There is no way to change the long press length. 2) If you select flagging mode, you can tap multiple times to flag, then to “?”, then to reset it to normal. There have been multiple times in flagging mode where the game thinks I’m not trying to flag and uncovers a bomb for me. Extremely annoying. 3) As other people have mentioned, your first tap doesn’t uncover a large section. You have to tap around and pray you can uncover a large section instead of clicking on a bomb or else you’ll have to reset and try again. 4) Game will freeze and not let you reset sometimes. You’ll have the restart the app. Not a big issue if you love wasting your time. 5) There is no way to continue playing after one of these glitches. Mess up? Too bad 😃

Got trapped into purchasing. This is a good port of the game; no complaints on that end. But I must detract stars because I feel that I was manipulated. When an ad popping up cost me a game (by effecting the space that the game takes up and shifting it over), I tried pushing the “X” thinking it would send the ad away. Instead, an option to pay for an ad free version popped up and I was trapped in a loop of trying to exit from the payment prompt and being sent right back to it. Stupidly, I put my thumb to the home screen button to try to quit the game, but of course that just resulted in the payment going through. Its a pain to try to get a refund for these things, and ultimately I’ve decided that it’s not worth the struggle, which I’m sure is exactly what the developers want. Don’t make the same mistake I did!

Good game. Good game that I love playing on my free time. Playing it is almost second nature to me. Sure, there can be some problems with the rng and sometimes I don’t tap sufficiently to select the Bomb on the top right. But besides all of this it make for a very clear, well run game. Message for devs: I know you probably won’t get this, but I just want to know what’s going on. I’ve been getting this message called “you’ve gotten the fastest time on expert mode, please put in your name” or something of the sort. Sure, I’ve beaten my time multiple times, but only twice have I received this message as appose to all the previous times I’ve beaten the alleged record. If you can tell me why this message shows, that’ll be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Very flawed. Don’t bother.. The game doesn’t accurately register press-and-hold to flag mines. 5 out of 10 games on Normal difficulty ended with attempting a firm, centered press-and-hold to flag a known mine, only for it to trigger and send the game immediately to an ad, which makes me suspect that this is intentional game design since ads are how developers profit from a free mobile game. It’s not an issue of my phone’s screen tap sensitivity as I have not had this problem with ANY other app or game, including other free Minesweeper games. I thought the top Apple Store comment (about having to tap multiple places on the screen to open up a section) was just someone who forgot that *sometimes* original Minesweeper had that problem on the first tap, or maybe a later tap to reveal more of the gameboard. But no, this is excessive. Out of 10 games on Normal difficulty, all 10 required 4-8 taps to open up a section to actually start playing. It’s annoying, but the real problem is how much that increases the chance of triggering a mine before you’re even started. Again, this is more excessive than any other Minesweeper iPhone game I’ve played. There are TONS of free Minesweeper ports in the Apple Store. Find another one. Don’t waste time downloading this one. Edit: To test my theory I immediately downloaded the next 3 Minesweeper games in the Apple Store- all played smoothly with none of the design flaws this game has.

Not happy. There are a few problems I have with this version. The first and most glaring is that it recycles games; I frequently get stuck in loops of playing the same layout over and over again until I lose. Secondly, it doesn’t give a free first move. This means that oftentimes I will lose automatically simply because the first square I clicked on was a bomb, or a numbered square that provided no utilizable information. Thirdly and most recently, the game has been freezing up on me randomly when I am on a winning streak, forcing me to close the game and start over. This has taken all the fun out of playing. I will say that I enjoy the simple, classic design of the game, which is why I initially selected this Minesweeper version: It does not try to be flashy or deviate unnecessarily from the original. However, it’s not worth the problems; I’ll be looking for a new Minesweeper for the future.

A good overall port.. I’m happy. The game plays well, the ads aren’t too intrusive. But there is one huge problem: It is hard to tell between dig and flag modes. The button changes from black to near-black, so there isn’t immediate feedback when pressing the button. There are tiny black dots on the squares when flagging, but I feel the modes could be better differentiated. At least a flag vs mine icon for the button, or a palette swap for the game board itself. Too many times I tap “flag”, it doesn’t register, then I accidentally dig one of the last mines out of 40.

Minesweeper. What a fantastic classic game reenergised in a new, cleaner format that allows for easy mobile play. Definitely a must have. A great introduction into complex, thinking and strategy games. I can’t wait for Emoji Movie 2

Last update. The addition of the game lost screen is not necessary and just slows you down from getting into the next game unlike before when you just reset by hitting the face which funnily enough is what showed you if you’ve lost

Ads after ever game.. I was playing this game fine for a full day. Initially I was resetting the game by going into the menu and clicking “play”. By doing this it would just reset my game. Eventually I realised I could just click the sad face up the top. Now every time I reset the game I have to watch 1 or 2 ads. Way to ruin the game, sometimes I don’t even get more then one square on the first go and lose resulting in me watching MORE ADS.

Advert Heavy. Good game but the amount of adverts through it is insane. It takes longer to get to the next game than actually playing it. Other than that it’s a good old classic.

Ads destroy game. the design of this game has been around for many years which does not justify having to put up with long ads constantly. Considering there is nothing original meaning copy cat design, this is just greedy for no reason. Shame, would put up with a few ads but this is ridiculous.

new update. there is one thing that is no good since the update. everytime you lose it goes to another screen and you have to wait to get another game. Before all you had to do was hit the smiley face and you were right back to it. 👎🏾

Rigged!!. I love this game, and a lot of the time I win. But after all my meticulous calculating to steer clear of mines, there are times where the game has glitched and set me up to fail. I have screenshot proof of games where a mine is where it shouldn’t be. It’s enough to make me delete the app permanently out of frustration! If the developers want proof I’m more than happy to send them my screenshot rigged games.

What the heck happened?. I downloaded this game when it first came out and it was fun, addictive, simple but hard. Fast forward many years later, I was sitting here today and something reminded me of this fun game I used to play and so I went through every app I have ever downloaded and I found it! I downloaded the game again and what the heck happened?? You have overcomplicated a simple game. What’s with paying now and navigating through all the different menus??? Seriously you have ruined it. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD. This app forced me to pay $20 to get rid of ads after I accidentally clicked on an ad and I was unable to exit the app without authorising payment with my Touch ID. I decided to let it go and just wear the $20, only to open the app a week later and see that the ads were still there, and it was trying to make me pay a SECOND TIME to get rid of ads. NOT HAPPY JAN

Has bugs. I have a print screen showing a bug where the numbers are not possible. Uninstalling.

Lots of errors. This is not as good as the original, as I have encountered errors where it has shown there should be 2 mines around a number but there is actually only one.

Increasing adds and bugs taken it from 5 star.. Updates have added a lot more adds to the point it makes me stop and play a different app. Also introduced a bug that causes the game to freeze when first opened. Must quit and close the game to continue the game. Other than that it is a enjoyable version of the old windows minesweeper game that can be quite challenging on higher levels.

Unfair start and so many ads. Bomb shows up on a adjacent tile when the first click was a single tile. Literally impossible to play when you can hardly ever get past the second move. And so many ads after every game. Makes playing experience insufferable.

Not a unique solution. Too many times I would play up to the last mine and it is only by chance if I win/lose as both options fit the numbers. Would be great if there was a unique solution rather than it be left up to chance.

Game does not function as intended. Numerous times the mine proximity number is wrong. Statistically there should be no mine but there is indeed a mine there. You can have 2 mines adjacent to a 1 tile, in any of the 9 possible tiles. Can’t functionally play it I understand the need for adds but if you hit a mine on the first click you have to watch adds, once that’s over and you start a new game and hit a mine again first. Yep you got it. Another 30second add. Haven’t even played a game and it’s been 1 whole minute. that’s just ridiculous. Pray for those people who hit a mine on there third go ☠️

Pornographic advertising. Your game just showed a pornographic ad (a woman masturbating). This is a game my children play. How can I be sure they haven’t been exposed to this ad? I will check all the settings on my phone but this is the first time any of the apps I have installed has done this. Minesweeper is such an innocuous game and the ad was completely inappropriate.

Disappointing now. Way too many ads and weird freeze upon opening. Frustrating and won’t use this app anymore.

Just like I remembered.... Coming home from school, hopping on the old PC and cranking the Minesweeper. Aah nostalgia... it’s not what it used to be.

Not accurate. In most games the numbers say that it’s touching 2 when it’s touching 3 there has been games I have lost because it’s not accurate :(.

The app is fun but has a few bugs. The app is great fun but quite often the game will give you the wrong number and cause you to click on a mine e.g. It will say 1 when there is 2 mines next to it

Buggy Stats. While I enjoy the gameplay (loved it in MS Windows OS) this app has a bug in the stats. I only play the Difficult mode. The wins/losses are recorded under ‘Difficult’, but the games played are recorded under ‘Medium’.

Minesweeper: best game on earth. Once you learn how the game works, which shouldn’t take you too long (Maybe 2 games tops), it is very enjoyable and addicting. Excellent game to pass time while on public transport, waiting for a doctors appointment or waiting for your girlfriend to do her makeup.

Good game; too many ads. Classic Minesweeper game, no issues with the game itself. The ads are over the top though. Sometimes there are multiple ads in between games. I get that ads are a necessary part of free games, but this is a bit much.

Ambiguity bug, battery drain, good app. Generally a good app. There's a bug with ambiguous situations. Say you have 1 mine left, 2 remaining tiles, mostly surrounded by mines and 2 numbers next to it. In cases where it could be either one, original Minesweeper made sure you can pick either one without hitting the mine. This avoids frustration, where you lose games just due to pure chance. Issue also occurs with 2x2 blocks in the corner. Also, battery drain is pretty heavy. I'd also like to have the ability to adjust the duration I have to keep tapping to place a mine.

Frustrating controls. Touch doesn’t register correctly at edge of board on large boards so instead of trying to place a flag you uncover a mine instead. Seems like all the minesweeper games on AppStore are the same.

Ads mute my music/podcasts!. When you introduced ads? Fine When you pushed ads after every game? Ok When the ads took 30 seconds to finish and you can’t skip? Alright, I can deal But when the ads start automatically pausing my podcast or music running in the background? And I can’t pre-emptively mute the ads? Unplayable. The new update has made this game unplayable. Every single time u lose u have to watch “game lost” SLOWLY appear on ur screen and then go to the select screen to play again. Before the update u could just tap the yellow face and restart instantly. Whose idea was it to change this??? PLEASE never make a game again

Game is unplayable. Game sucks, whenever I start a game and I tap a square it only revels one never a bunch, I have to continue tapping until I hit a free are but I usually hit a bomb before then. Poor design. The flag toggle on-off button doesn’t show if it’s on or off… which is kinda of the basic of this game. I deleted it after 5 games.

Delay makes game unplayable. It seems like there’s an effect when you mark a mine where the symbol drops onto the mine square in an animated way. This animation causes a delay that means you have to hold down for longer or the game interprets it as you just clicking on the square. I have accidentally eventually clicked a mine I was trying to mark every single time I played the game, so now I’m removing the app. In a timed game like minesweeper that people who used old computers are very accustomed to, adding a delay to the game play when the game otherwise looks identical to the original is just frustrating.

Music randomly starts playing. I really like the game but sometimes loud music will start playing for a few second and then turn off. Then today it was continuously playing loud rap music until I fully exited out of the app.

There was no way to stop or close the advertisement and this is completely unacceptable for an all ages app. I will be reporting this directly to iTunes as this is a violation of their ToS.

The first move should automatically be correct. The first move should automatically be correct, and bring up a patch of numbers. Right now, your first move can be a bomb before you even start playing the game. It can be a “1” and you would have to do guesswork for the next moves and risk landing bombs. No point.

Could use safe start option.. The version of minesweeper on my laptop starts you with at least one open square, no matter which square you chose. I like my laptop version a little more because your first move will always be a non-mine and non-numbered square.

Can’t listen to podcasts. Game ads interrupt any audio playing from the phone within seconds of opening the game, making listening to music or podcasts while you play impossible

Age verification?. Why I’m the world do I need to verify my age to play minesweeper of all games, that has been out without a care in the world since 1992. This would make sense if you had 18+ ads and that was your marketing strategy but at least tell the user base this first. Secondly why are there 18+ ads on a game that’s nothing more than logic and facilitates cognitive development? The last thing someone would be in the mood for while playing minesweeper is getting into a private chat room with someone

Game freezes. The app often freezes while in use making the game useless.

Restriction of choices. When I got this I happy that I can play it on both vertical and horizontal where the others won’t. With this one I’d very restricted on the size of the box and find that I can’t make it bigger. When I try I get directed to another game with the bells and whistles to it! I don’t want to make it “more fun” or not so “boring” to play; I don’t get “bored” when it doesn’t. I want a full screen that’s not for s seasoned player. Why do we get always get directed to another game?

Used to be good. Not sure why they changed but now after playing a single game you are presented with only an option to purchase a Pro ($ pay) version with no option to play a free version. Have had this for years, just deleted it. Goodbye (not good buy)

New Update Bad. The game used to be so good but the new update sucks so hard! It’s so bad that I’m writing my first ever app review (I think). It takes way too long to start a new game, used to be one click and now it takes forever

Latest Version Has Annoying Bugs. When you select a square that is already uncovered next to squares that are not uncovered, all of the adjacent uncovered squares change state. One might think it was a shortcut, except some of the state changes don’t make sense (e.g. a flagged square changes to ?). I can’t reproduce it exactly yet, but pressing certain squares cause adjacent squares to uncover, but the uncovered squares are empty and some of them should have a mine. Pressing an empty square causes it to cover up again. The game is playable but annoying.

Cool. Love it

It resets mid game if app is left. Interface and mine marking work fine, but the game doesn’t save if I switch to another app for a minute (like to answer a text or set an alarm). I lose all my progress and since I play expert the games take a while and have a lot of tedium. To be clear: I’m not exiting the app, just leaving it for a minute or two. Switching to a different game app for now. Let me know if you fix this.

Sticky controls. It froze a lot so I couldn’t keep playing while the timer went. Held down for a flag twice, very long presses, and instead it exposed the bomb.

Awful. There are ads after every game, there is no flag button, and it is just overall not worth playing this app compared to the thousand other versions in the App Store.

Disappointing honestly. Was my all-time favourite app until these recent updates. I understand ads for profit before but the amount now is absurd. The cost for premium is quite something too. Loved this game for its simplicity, but now the extra UI stuff just made it unnecessarily complicated and wastes time (like the Win/Lose screen, we just want to restart and play). The design was better before as well… Will likely move to another minesweeper app.

Pretty decent honestly. My only issues with this game are the ones that people have mainly talked about like ads and the need to randomly guess in the beginning. My main big issue is something I haven’t seen yet but it gets to me. The tiles around the edge of the map require you to hold them longer for you to flag them. I find it repetitive that I lose a game because the edge tiles didn’t register I was holding them long enough. Please fix this

The New Update Made an Annoying Change + New Bug. When a game ends it pulls up this screen that plays a very slow animation. It’s very noticeable when you lose a few games very quickly in a row. Please make it so that when I tap the screen the animation is skipped or something. I love minesweeper and want to be able to play it with the same level of convenience as before. Also now there is a bug where the game will freeze after about 10-20 seconds of play. The game is now in a nearly unplayable state. I am playing on an iPhone 14.

Great, but touchy. I play on an iPad, using anApple pencil so I have to be careful to ensure touches flagging a mine are solid and long enough. I have occasionally moved too slowly toward a mine square and had it detonate before I completed marking it. When tapping initial squares to start a game I hate when the second or third square is a mine. In the difficult game it’s rare to not detonate a mine in the first moves. If there were a Start New Game somewhere around the playing field that would speed up restarting after an early detonation.

Very annoying delay. Mostly, I like this game. Classic minesweeper. The ads are annoying, but I can live with that. The reason I only gave it 1 star is because of a random delay they insert into the time it takes to identify a bomb. I’ll be flying through the game and at random times, it takes a fraction of a second longer to flag a bomb and when I lift my finger, the bomb goes off. I have a new iPad with a very fast processor so I know it’s not a problem with my device. And it never happens with anything else I do on my iPad. So the developers thought it would be fun to artificially insert a delay to cause me to lose a game, even when I’ve correctly identified a bomb. That’s just stupid!

Easy to use and buggy as hell. Design is intuitive, layout is good, gives you flexible options. But there are some super annoying bugs that have gotten bad enough I’m gonna find another minesweeper app. Probably more than half the time if I let my phone go to locked mode before I finish a game, it’ll lose where I was and revert to a state from some previous game. Good, But Numbers Are Wrong. Every couple of games, I’ll hit a bomb because the numbers are improperly counting bombs. It’s like they aren’t counting the ones diagonal, only the adjacent ones. This is pretty frustrating because I’ll lose a game through no fault of my own. I do have screenshots if the developers would like to see them. It’s a great game otherwise though! Update: It seems the bug may be caused by an 11th bomb. I’ve counted the bombs every time I’ve had this issue and it always comes up to 11.

Good, but has a game breaking bug.. I just started playing this game, but I’m enjoying using logic to find my away around those pesky mines. However, I’ve been running into a bug where the numbers are sometimes wrong. For instance, I had a “one” despite there being a mine on both sides. I’ve also had a “three” even though it was touching four mines. I want to keep playing, but I might take a break until this is fixed. Great game otherwise.

Used to be a perfect game. I used to play this game like it was cocaina back in the day. I re downloaded it today and they ask for my age like this game is too PG for kids and then the real horrors happened. I got into the game and started my first game, hit a bomb (L) and then got an add. I miss the simplicity and stress free nature of this game. It’s so enjoyable to play but once you’re getting stopped for ads after every game it loses its luster. I didn’t think this app would ever sell out for some easy cash but they did. It’s turned into a cookie cutter “pay for premium or we’re gonna annoy you with adds” game and it makes me sad.

Wonderful job!. All you people that think the numbers are wrong sometimes are incorrect and the reason you think that is you just aren't quite good enough to find the correct position and you tap a bomb which makes you rage too much too find your mistake. And of course there are ads because this guy needs to make at least some money. Game works great I even beat the maximum size of 24x30 with 100 mines!

Unnecessary changes. This new update where they included a “Game Lost/Won” screen has really diminished the quality of life of this app. An otherwise perfect 10/10 recreation of the beloved desktop game makes it so you have to spend unnecessary time waiting for a screen animation to roll before you can play a new game. In a game like Minesweeper, where you can roll through several screens before you find a “break-out” this can get really annoying. I’d gladly change this to a five star if I could just reset the game by clicking 😎 again.

Weird Ads?. This game is fun, but it is very concerning when I get an ad that asks me if I am 16 years or older? Worse, it doesn’t let me exit out of it until I answer and then it plays a 30 second unskippable ad....What in the world would they want to know that info for? So creepy. Also, sometimes when I finish a game (or try to) the game doesn’t register that I am done, so I am forced to start a game over even though I should have gotten credit for the previous play I did. Too many problems. Sketch app. They really need to fix the ad problem.

Just a suggestion. The ‘Flag’ button is small on an iPhone. Sometimes while playing fast, I don’t realize the button hasn’t changed when I thought I pushed it. Black and gray are too close in shades to notice the button change. Nothing worse than being almost finished the game only to lose because the button wasn’t in the right mode. Maybe make the button red when in flag mode.

ADS!!!!!!!. The game was fine until they recently increased the amount of ads in the game. You get an ad after every game and after every reset plus the board doesn’t clear after you tap a bomb. This means that as soon as the match ends (Bomb or otherwise) you get an ad, then you have to reset the board for a new game which then sends another ad your way. Plus since you have to tap randomly to get started it’s likely you’ll hit a bomb which repeats the process all over. I’m uninstalling due to the amount of ads.

Started out fine, now constantly crashes. When I first downloaded the app, I had no issues. As of late, I’ve been dealing with constant crashes. The app closes mid-game quite often. I’ve also been dealing with lagging, as in when selecting a tile to flag, I often have to select it multiple times before it registers. Some of my clicks don’t register at all, which has led me to losing a few games. It’s unfortunate because I’ve enjoyed playing the game in the past, but the app just doesn’t work. My phone is updated, so I doubt that’s the issue. I’ve even had the app crash twice in under 3 minutes.

Great Game until.... I played this version of Minesweeper for a few months many times a day. However, after this update, I will not be playing this version any more. When the game first starts, it asks for my Apple password even after I have just put it in. Then, an ad loads up. Then after I lose my first game, another ad shows up. It’s unenjoyable to play. Also the mines load in as a pattern. The same level I have played the past week is the first that is loaded up and I have to purposely lose to get another level pattern. This version of Minesweeper is no longer enjoyable to play.

I Think It Cheats. Initially I was really loving this game. Played exactly like the original I had played decades earlier. The first guess was the luck of the draw. Most of the time the selection would result in blank space opening up and hints to avoid the mines. After the "upgrade" I noticed the first guess almost all the time resulted in a single number, thus requiring a second guess. Then a third, fourth, fifth, etc. It's worst when I'm about to set a new winning streak. So, yes, I think the game cheats. But I still play it.

App constantly frozen. Not sure why this is happening, but every 30 seconds or so the app freezes on me, prohibiting me from doing anything until I restart the app. Not that it’s a huge deal, just a bit annoying. To start off a game you have to accurately guess where there are no mines; rather than allowing your first move to start off sophisticatedly, you have a good chance of selecting a mine, or a singular block until you find a gap in the map to continue your game. Other than that I’ve enjoyed this app.

Flag Hold Inconsistencies. Everything about this game is as good as the original. Simple, basic minesweeper. Only problem is the ‘flag hold’ feature which is not consistent in how long you have to hold. So when you get on a roll and start assuming the timing of the flag hold you end up losing for no reason. Make the flag hold option a shorter time and more consistent. I’m on an iPhone X with plenty of processing power so I know it’s not my phone.

Decent, but needs improvement.. Good version of the classic Minesweeper, but there are some issues that need fixing. At the beginning of a game, it does not clear a field, so you must tap aimlessly until you have a space large enough to play confidently. The game will also run in the background if you do not remember to close it, and will run down your battery. I checked the battery usage in my settings and it had used 60% of my battery in 24 hours by running in the background for 22 hours.

Need to fix first tile. I love minesweeper, and this is a good port, but there is a major issue that makes the game almost unplayable. When you first click a tile, instead of like regular minesweeper, where a large area is revealed, only a single tile is revealed, meaning you have to click around randomly afterwards. If this were fixed I would give a much higher rating, but looking at the fact that the developer has been saying they would fix this issue for over a year and haven’t, I doubt they will ever fix this problem. I would recommend using one of the many other minesweeper games on the app store unless they fix this major issue.

Stop my Ads. This app went from banner ad, to full screen pop up, now to full audio ads. I will pay for no ads... I’ve used this app forever. It’s my favorite. But I won’t for much longer if this is not resolved. When that Groupon ad comes up while I’m taking a few minutes to zone out, it actually upsets me. Audio popping up suddenly on an app that has no audio is unacceptably intrusive.

Almost perfect. I enjoy playing minesweeper and this version is pretty good. My only issue is when I want to flag a bomb on the either the far right or far left edge, I have to hold down the tile for about twice as long as the other tiles. It’s annoying and sometimes I forget to hold down longer and instead of flagging, it detonates the bomb. I saw there was an update today and was hopeful this issue was resolved but alas no. I’ll update the review to 5 stars if this is fixed in a future update!

Good but some problems. I was looking to learn how to play minesweeper, so I downloaded this app. Initially, I loved the way it was set up. The ads are there, but not invasive at all. There’s multiple levels of difficulty. It’s fairly easy to understand and navigate. However, I started having problems with the game completely freezing up after 10 seconds of trying to play. I have to restart the app after almost every move I make. It’s gotten irritating, and I’m not even 24 hrs into the download.

Game freezes almost constantly when not on WiFi. It’s MineSweeper with a few more bells and whistles. I’ve been playing for several days now, especially while laying in bed instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media, and this has worked great for me. However, once you go somewhere that you don’t have access to Wi-Fi, the game freezes almost every minute and the only way to fix this is to close the app and reopen it. Doesn’t seem too bad, but after about the thousandth time, it gets pretty old!

Statistics are crap!. I’ve been playing for a couple weeks. The game itself works fine, but the statistics are all screwed up. After I’d played “difficult” a few times, the stats said games played=0, games won=1, most consecutive wins=1, most consecutive loses=3. If I had won once and lost 3 in a row, why does total games played=0? I reset stats hoping to correct the problem. But my fastest time from “easy” got transferred to the “medium” category. I’ve reset several times now with the same result. I read another review from May that noted the same problem. The developer responded “we’ll look into that.” Now it’s January......it’s time for me to look for a new Minesweeper app. Bye!

A couple guesses and logic applies. The game is simple. After the initial guesses, you need to apply logic to clear the board. After a bit, you have to race the clock to set a personal best. Young children get it and older kids ( of all ages) enjoy the challenge. Unlike candy crush type games with all of the flash, this one does not have an arbitrary quality as to what appears when. It's just you and the minefield.

Please fix the buttons. I wanted to play the classic minesweeper and this is definitely it however the buttons slip a lot and when your sure you were pressing flag or holding the button down enough to flag it will all of a sudden not work and you’ll instead click the bomb. It’s not really an issue on easy and medium level but once you get to difficult there’s so many squares that eventually the buttons glitch and let me tell you I am going insane after having 16 out of 99 mines left and then having to start all over. This glitch happens all the time. Please fix this

Horrific Ads and a Ridiculous Subscription. The game recently increased ad frequency to every 2 games, which is ludicrous playing on the higher difficulties. I spend more time waiting for scammy ads for Gardenscape and King’s a choice to load far enough I can close them than I do actually playing the puzzle. Oh course, I could make that go away if I bought the full version, except you can’t BUY the unlocked version. You can only subscribe for $6.99/year. Who in their right mind would pay $7 ANNUALLY to own a game that came preinstalled on Windows 95?? Truthfully, I was fine with the ads when they were less frequent. And I would happily pay $7 to buy the game outright. But the idea that I should have to subscribe to idly play Minesweeper while binging television is pathetic, and upping the ad frequency recently was just insulting. No wonder you weren’t making enough money from subscriptions.

Ok app. When I first downloaded this app, it was great. Minesweeper is obviously not a flashy complex game. But at some point, the ads became more annoying! The ads themselves (on the bottom of the screen) are not bad. The problem is that when the ads refresh, it resets the screen and causes me to hit the wrong square. (The squares on the board are small, so I often like to zoom in). Also, there are now occasionally 30 second pop-up ads between games when sometimes a whole game does not last 30 sec! Can you please at least fix the issue where the board resets when ads switch?

“New” puzzle update is a pain. I like this game for the larger buttons and have been happy using it for a long time. However since the last update it has been a pain: 1. I do not like it when the game forces me to use the new puzzles. Once you start one you are stuck in that mode and can’t go back to just normal games. 2. The game gets stuck one game that I had paused and restarted. It keeps repeatedly going back to the paused game when I load the app again. I have had to delete the game and reload to reset to just play normal games. Why isn’t there an option to just play normal games?

One issue. Great minesweeper app. The only reason I’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I can’t listen to any audio when using the app. I would love to listen to podcasts or music while playing minesweeper, but some bug in the app will pause whatever audio application you are using while playing the game. I would definitely play more if I could listen to audio simultaneously.

Not saying anything new here. Biggest issues are the frequency of ads and the randomness in the first couple clicks. More often then not you’ll be uncovering one number at a time for the first couple of clicks and since it’s not playable, as in it’s usually a 1 or 2 initially, you’ll be guessing for the first couple of clicks. Basically every time you lose, a video ad pops up. I uninstalled the app because of this. I get apps need to make money, but it was so intrusive to the game play, especially with the bad RNG at the beginning of the game.

Sometimes buggy. I’ve always been a fan of minesweeper since I was a kid. I slowly made myself figure it out. But sometimes the game just isn’t right. I was just playing and there was a 2. (Resembling 2 mines). And a 1 above it (resembling one mine). And taking a chance I clicked on the one and failed. Then I investigated the board. Turns out that one actually had a mine beside it and also the 2 had another 2 beside it. So both of the numbers were wrong. Causing the whole thing to be thrown off.

Very good game just one flaw... I have been playing this game for a few days now and I’ve loved it but I’ve run into one problem. I find one bomb that is left invisible. In other words there is a “1” in the middle square and there will be two bombs in the 9 square space. I have pictures of this occurrence if you’d like to see them reply here and I’ll leave my email in the response or reply with your email and I’ll send the pictures directly. Otherwise a great game, very well done.

Good if playing peacefully. It actually is a broken game as the first move is meant to give you a pocket of space to work with then generate; in this version, it's pre-generated around your first click meaning your first box can only contain a single "1" or "2" in it. It gives you nothing to work with and your second click can just be a bomb. Another infuriating thing is that sometimes the app doesn't realize you're holding down to mark a mine and counts it as a tap and activates said mine. Clearly the game wasn't properly made and needs to fix some of the biggest bugs still in it.

Pay $15 a YEAR for bells and whistles or WATCH an ad every single game. The app used to be a pretty faithful recreation of Windows’ old game with only an ad when you win a board. Now the developers have slapped a few low-effort features in and decided that they’re worth FIFTEEN DOLLARS A YEAR??? And even if you don’t buy it (which they will continue to ask you to do) there’s now a full screen video ad with sound every time you START a game, win or lose, because apparently Minesweeper, a game with no internet traffic, is somehow worth that much. I’ll never use this app again.

I love minesweeper but. I loved the app but has some issues... 1. When I reopen the app after sometime, it will not resume the previous game but shows something else with custom configuration 2. No way to disable question marks (?) It will kill sometime 3. Clicking the smiley for new game after reopening always create game with custom values 4. Statistics are calculated with some other game level when reopened after sometime

This game is a scam. I downloaded this game because I wanted to get good at minesweeper because of another game I was playing and wanted to get good at it. When I lost the first game a add purchase screen came up and said to pay 15 dollars I closed it out and it came right back up so I closed it again. It kept coming up over and over again and when I wanted to go back to the home screen my phone read my thumb print and the purchase went though and the developer will not give my 15 dollars back. This is a scam since it keeps asking you to purchase it even even when you try to close it out. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME!

Unwanted zooming. Loved this version of Minesweeper, and it worked almost flawlessly until I updated to ios11. Only thing before I updated was some stats going in the wrong section, and why do you enter your name for fastest time when it won’t display them? Since updating though, it randomly auto zooms in when I’m not touching it, multiple times in a game (though not during every game). It’s so infuriating to take the time to scale it to my preferred size only to have it jump 4 seconds later.

I am the best. Listen folks, I don't care who you are, what you eat, how much you make, which way you put on your pants, how you like the scent of vanilla, what your favorite salad dressing is, what your preferred fall-time, late-night, cold-weather jacket choice is, or even what your mothers preferred thanksgiving day dessert is, all I know is that none of you could possibly be better than me at this game. End of story. Sorry amateurs

Recent update is so frustrating. I have had a subscription for this game for a year and been completely happy with it until the most recent update. Now, if I lose a game, a screen pops up saying “Game Lost” that you have to wait through as it slowly shows each letter of the word “lost”. It takes so much longer to get into another game that it’s frustrating. Anyone who has played Minesweeper a lot knows that you start new games and lose multiple times until you find one with an empty space that you can start to solve. This new update is unnecessary and annoying and if it doesn’t change back, I will cancel my subscription.

Constant Freezes and Excessive Ads. I just got back into minesweeper and was looking for a fun and easy game. However this game is plagued by constant ads that get in the way of keeping your rhythm or starting a new game. And even when you do, the game will freeze for about 30 seconds, let me play again, and then freeze again 10 seconds later. Makes this impossible to play consistently and very annoying to deal with. I have also had several mines towards the edges/corners that can’t be found using logic and force the player to guess, which could ruin an entire game.

Ads are too prevalent. I’m not one to normally write a review, but I felt the need to for this app. While the actual game itself is easy to use and very similar to other minesweeper apps, the sheer number of ads shown is out of this world. Before EVERY new game, and after every finished game (win or lose). So let’s say you lose a game- automatically launches into an ad. Then you go to start a new one - another ad! It’s ridiculous. I could understand every few games - maybe after 5 games or so. But EVERY new game? It’s too much.

New update ruined the game. I’ve had this app for years and with the most recent update they butchered its playability. They locked previously free features behind a paywall and constantly peddle you their terrible ads and payed services. They also have this horrible 5 second long animation that plays every time you lose, which is incredibly obnoxious because since they don’t give you an open space upon starting you lose multiple times before getting a playable game. Very disappointed with how this app has evolved.

Great app. This has been the only minesweeper app I’ve used on phone and I’m currently loving it. Since I’ve just recently downloaded the app, there’s not much to complain about. I do however have just one thing to say, and that’s please for the love of God, add free spacing on the first turn. I’ve lost numerous times because I didn’t guess the correct squares, and it really kills me to see every lose in that way being recorded. That’s my only problem at the moment and it’s what’s keeping the app at 4 stars for me.

Officially Addicted. Hadn’t played this game in 10 years till I found this app. Got very into it a couple months ago and I’ve been very impressed with how few ads I get and how smoothly the game plays. Love your app! Weird thing though. I’ve won at least 100 games on expert but it says games won: “69.” Pretty dang funny if that’s intentional. And my only two suggestions are to add a feature where the first click is always an empty zone (takes me a few tries to find one on my own) and to make “average time of win” a statistic because half the times it logs are deaths within a couple seconds. Hats off to the developers. Fabulous app that’s likely to keep eating hours out of my week for years to come!

Can no longer listen to music while the app is open. I actually really like this app. The controls are way easier than some of the other ones available. However, with the recent update, I can no longer listen to music while I have the app open. This really limits when I use it because I’m passively listening to music a lot of the time. If this doesn’t get fixed, I may have to look for another app. Tried to report this elsewhere, but link to developer through apple was broke

Can be difficult to start. For the most part I really like this version of minesweeper, but it’s really frustrating that most new games I start, I end up hitting a mine before I clear a tile that clears a larger area. I’ll consistently keep clearing single tiles that don’t clear empty space and I’ll have cleared 1-5 tiles before hitting a mine. I usually have to get 5-10 immediate losses before I can find a pocket of empty spaces to work with. I hate having to absolutely tank my win rate just to get a playable game going.

Bugs with Stats. The game itself is smooth and works just like the computer game. I’m experiencing issues with the Stats page though. It doesn’t count the number of Difficult level games I’ve played and it seems to auto populate that my best time in solving the Difficult level is 18 seconds. Well, I’m good but I’m not that good. It’s disappointing that the Stats page is not accurate. The whole point of playing this game is to try to beat your previous time and when the time is not being properly recorded, it makes me lose motivation to play. Please fix the Stats page!

Ads cause freezing. Only two troubles with the game. One, action will freeze when certain ads display, but the time clock does not stop, so if you’re trying to beat a record, pray that an ad for Boar’s Head meats doesn’t pop up, because you won’t be able to do anything until the ad changes. Two, you have to hold a finger down to mark a flag, but if you do it to quickly, it triggers the bomb. You have to hold it a long time to get the flag, again a problem if you’re trying to break a record.
