Very nice, but one thing could be changed. I love this app, it works like the real thing, although the chimes could be changed, since the recording that’s being used are the chimes from a while back, I wish that the present day chimes, which after the revavation now have a softer sweeter sound: PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONCEDERATION

Big Ben. This version is free. DO NOT BUY BIG BEN 3D. I paid for it around 2 years ago. It said I had to pay for it again which I did and it doesn’t work at all. STICK WITH THE FREE VERSION!

Great app!. Love the app. It really helps me keep up with the time, especially when I'm busy and can't keep an eye on the time. Really wish there was a way to schedule it to turn itself off at night, that would make it perfect. Great job! Thanks.

One problem. It's too loud. Either resample bell toll at a lower volume, or provide volume setting in app.

Love it but.... ... Really wish the app volume would correspond with the ringtone volume on your phone. I keep mine turned low, and would prefer the chimes to match. Also wish that if your phone is set to silent, the chimes don't sound like you're getting a text message every 15 minutes! Please add these features on the next update. Otherwise I love it, it makes me miss London so much!

A big - nothing?. I have followed directions. Allowed sounds and notifications. Not a peep, let alone a chime. Why?

works and sounds are charming. Cheree Heppe here: True, I am blind and can't see the clock presentation. But ... the chimes more than make up for it. I like the clock chiming even when the app isn't open. This is a big step forward in I-clockery. Thanks, you guys.

Really wish they would have volume out of the app. I wasted $ .99 on something that does not even chime and you have to turn off and turn on the Westminster chime to make it chime, other wise it bring London the California.

great app!. i love this app! i rate it 4/5,because it just needs the renovated big ben,blue clock face,quieter chimes and a 5 second delay between the quarter chimes and the hour chimes.

Excellent!. I really like it! You can run the quarter hour chimes in the background while running the Wall Clock app from Japan in the foreground for a very realistic effect. The Wall Clock app has fantastic graphics while the BigBen app has great sound effects... put them together and voilà... perfection!

Stupid. This is a pointless app

Few issues. Love the app BUT, there's no option to ring ONLY on the hour instead of quarterly. And the app chimes even while im on the phone. VERY annoying. Plz fix.

Very nice. An app that just has an image of Big Ben and makes clock sounds?!? You bet! This app does exactly what it said it would do. It's a great rendition of Big Ben sights and sounds, which is awesome for those of us who love London. It brings back really nice memories. As an improvement, I'd love to have optional pictures of London around Big Ben in both afternoon and evening that could be shown with the sound of the clock in the background. (PS - I get clock sounds even when the app is off, so not sure what the other reviewer was experiencing. Maybe due to different versions of iOS. )

Won't Turn Off!. Update. Sorry, I have figured it out. The chimes may be switched off by a switch from within the app. I did not realize that an app's internal switch could remain active even though an app is not running and is removed from the multitasking window. I have increased my rating as promised. Since this is possible, I now wonder why the alarm-apps I have tried say their app must appear in the multitasking window to remain functional? ................ This is a nice app and works as advertised except that I am unable to turn the chimes off even though I have turned off the app in the multitasking window. I am using a 3rd Gen iPod Touch with the very latest IOS. I will give this more stars when the developer tells me how to switch off the chime without having to delete the app from the device. PS. I've tried resetting the device, but it still keeps on chiming when I need it to be off.

This is Awesome. Big Ben is my favorite attraction in the whole world. I was saddened when I could not hear him when I came to London back in 2017. I used Big Ben as a church theme, and have the chimes as a ringtone. Thank you for this. I know I sound stupid, but this app is probably one of the best reasons I have an iPhone. He’s like an old friend...long story 😭😭😭 I hope this app continues onward!

Awesome. But I will rate five stars if you have where display the weather in back or something to go with where I live and if you can adjust the volume. The weather would be cool but if that's not a possibility I will take the volume

Good but... Would recommend having a night mode so it doesn't go off when I'm in bed.

Nice app.... Helps me keep track of time, esp when gaming or doing other work, but just like the previous reviewer, I really wish there was a way to schedule 'silent time' in the app! The two images is a nice touch, but it'd be even nicer if there were more pictures for it to (automatically) choose from!

I have 2 suggestions and 1 concern.. My First suggestion is that you add the chime train sounds and animation. The chime trains are the objects and gears that help the chimes and bells ring. If you need a better definition, then you will have to look up more stuff on that. My second suggestion is that the ticking does not sound quite authentic. Big Ben only ticks every other second. My other part of the suggestion is that the ticking should be a little bit softer, not quieter, just a little Bit more gentle, Because when I was listening to real videos on Big Ben, the ticking was a little bit softer. My concern is that, well, I have in iPhone for S upgraded to iOS 6 0 1 and the app still crashes. It has been doing that since I downloaded the app, which was probably months before the iOS 6 upgrade.

Possible??. Great app, I love hearing Big Ben. My question is this: would it be possible to set a volume for the chiming? I always have my phone vol way up and consequently so is BB!! I would love to hear it a touch more 'in the background'. Thanks so much!!

big ben. It only works when the application is open and does not work when the phone is asleep so what's the use of it? just look at it when the hour is getting close to hear the chimes? what a rip off

Disappointed. I thought you were still supposed to hear the chime when your phone is on but not in use? If I would of known that it only works when the app is open I would not of bothered. 😕

How do you get this to work?. It says when I turn on west minister time it will ring even when it's closed but when I close the app it didn't ring. Any suggestions??

LOVE the sounds, but.... The chimes are beautiful, but can you please consider making the quarter chimes optional? Sometimes I really just want chimes on the hour

Almost perfect app. This app is very nice, especially the chime. It works very well even when my phone is in sleep mode. It could be better if the chime can be disable only at night by a time setting.

Cool. This is pretty cool!

Need some refinements. I use this app on my iPad2. I really enjoy it but would like to see a volume control added as well as the ability to delete the hourly dongs. Given the volume it becomes an annoyance in the later hours of the cycle. Oh, one other refinement: The ability to set the time of day for silent operation ( quiet it at night ).

Pretty cool. A nice idea, and nice that it is free. Would love an iPad version, should you have the time.

Would be nice if it worked …. I installed this app just after iOS 15 was released, which knocked out an app, similar to this one, which I was using. When I installed this app, I discovered, to my chagrin, that it only worked when the app was displaying on the screen. If I went to another app, or if my screen locked, then Big Ben stopped working. Hoping there would be an update to the app, I didn’t delete it. The update came, approximately six months ago, but the same problems persist. I have Notifications turned on—including Sound—for the app, but it isn’t working. I’m running iOS 15.5. What’s the use of having an app that helps you keep track of time if it doesn’t operate in the background?

Suggestion about the lock screen. Amazing app, I love London, I go there every summer. Nice reminder app :) You know the apps where you can customize your lock screen? How cool would that be if the BigBen clock was on the lock screen. I mean not just the picture, but the animation. If will show BigBen on the lock screen everyone who loves London would get that app. So is it technically possible?

Carrie. Did used to work wonderfully until I upgraded to iOS 15. I am officially impaired, the app was acting weird. The voiceover would always give me a vocal notification with the chime every quarter hour and every hour. It never did that before. I took the offer and reinstalled it. Now I have no sound and all notifications are on. I am very upset as I love this app. Please tell me what to do to fix it and I will change the rating

Good but not great. Love it worth paying for it but the tick tock option is creepy... And there should be silencer for night or volume controls but still a great app

Novelty Toy only, not a tool.. I needed to find a useful clock application that would chime or ring on the hour (with the number of bells corresponding to the hour), and would chime regardless of whether the iphone was currently awake or not (in much the same way the standard alarm wakes up the iphone when it goes off). Big Ben wasn't what I was looking for... it doesn't wake up to chime the hour. In other words a bit pointless unless you want to watch Big Ben ticking over the hour and listen to it chime - novelty value only.

The only iPhone app allowed on my iPad. This app is so good it is the only iPhone app I allow on my new iPad. An iPad app would be great (universal app so I don't have to pay again) but this is exactly what I wanted. It is a true replica of Big Ben and chimes exactly the same with pure quality sound. Love it.

Almost Perfect!. This app is almost perfect for me. I’m not allowed to wear a watch at work so I have to rely on wall clocks and my phone all the time. I hate having to keep up with clock batteries and I often keep working rather than check my phone so an audible app like this is exactly what I need. The only change I’d like to see made is the option for night mode: set the app to stop tolling at 9pm and start again at 5am (or as desired). That being said, I can adjust the notifications or turn on the Night Mode app, though that also silences incoming messages so not 100% ideal.

Cute, and does what it says!. Don't know why all the low ratings. The description is very accurate and the app does exactly as advertised. I'm really glad an updated version was released - thank you developers! It's one of my favourite simple apps. Simple can be fun, cute, and well done too :)

Useless. By far the most useless app I have yet seen on the App Store. Utterly useless. Good thing I got it for free.

GRRRRRREAT! actually!. Let me rectify my shot with my "False representation" review. Turns out I hadn't given the app the time to fully deploy its components and get fully working, as happens often with Apple iDevice apps. Because after missing two straight quarterhours, the app started working fine, even while inactive (or "killed"), and hasn't missed a single chime since. So I should have waited to post my review! It works just as specified. So no, don't turn away from it. It is sure worth its price. And, I'm also extremely satisfied with the sound quality. The volume is not adjustable, but it sounds at just the right level, loud and clear enough to be well heard yet never too loud as to disturb or to grab the attention of the people around you. The sound is great, and not tinny at all in my iPod touch's tinny speaker. In the earphones, it greatly replicates the heavy yet soft iron bells' sound. And when it's a bit noisy, it will sound so softly out the speaker like a clock tower chiming in the distance. This app also comes with a great clock display that works, and the 4th quarterhour even starts early to make BigBen strike on the hour, unlike other mobile Big Ben apps. On the clock though, the hands appear a bit pale (esp. on the daytime clock), and when they're together, the hour hand appears on top, while it's actually under. But these are very minor imperfections, and overall, kudos for a mobile app very well done!
