Not a bad choice. The flash card method they use is very convenient for people on the go but I personally am more of an interactive learning person so this wasn't for me

Lots of Problems. It is rife with mistakes, literally 15% of the material has some sort of audio/spelling mistake. The flashcards are lousy not allowing you to remove words you know. The lessons have way too many rarely used words (singer names, seriously?) The examples are ridiculous, using vocab a beginner will not remember or use. Not a professional product.

Build your vocabulary. This is a well organized vocabulary builder app.

Neat app. I hope to learn vietnamese one day & i like the help this app gives me. Audio playback for words are nice.

Great app. I've always wanted to learn but never started because I know or can imagine how much time it might take to even get it going... This has allowed me to start... somewhere:)

Great software, lousy translations. These developers use picture based learning like Rosetta Stone, and the software works like a dream. Also included are audio files for all words and phrases. The translations are riddled with errors however. The phrases are very formal and very northern. Anyone looking to speak Viet in Saigon or Cali should look elsewhere.

Flawless. Provides easy content for learning Vietnamese.

Good way to expand vocabulary. Like anything with learning a new language, you'll get out of it proportional to what you put in. The word of the day feature is elementary but the courses are well graduated and the pronunciation assistance is very good. Centered on the northern (Hà Nội) pronunciation, which will in a generation be the primary one, and which sounds more educated. Only con with this app is daily emails with offers and specials.

A word a day..... An idiot made a comment about this app that Southern accent is easier to hear: stupid will always be stupid! App is free, so it's alright. A word a day sounds good, but who actually opens the app EVERY SINGLE DAY to learn a word. Maybe it should come with a gentle bell-like noise to remind us to open the app.

Vietnamese language. Very good app. I like the visual aid which reinforces the learning of the word or phrase.

Not bad. Efficient way to work on vocabulary for beginners. I have several languages but they are all a bit buggy. Maybe lock, or stop pronouncing or annoying things but if you reinstall all the words of the day disappear

Best App!. I love this app. It helps 101%. This app is free and easy. It gives you how a word is pronounced and gives you a picture to show you the idea. The flash cards make the app even better. I strongly recommend this app.

Do not install!. This app alerts you at midnight every night that 'a new word is available'. It persists even after removing the app. It never asks for permission and you cannot turn it off. Highly annoying. I had this problem until upgrading to iOS 4.1. This app also directs u to the app store to purchase full version constantly. It is virtually useless with only one word provided per day. Stay away from this.

Sample sentences work!. The sample sentences offer precious help and real-world application of new words. The feature of the app is its best.

Don't bother!. This "free" app. is the light version. Light is an understatement. Only one word is available in this version. Don't bother with this app. if you are looking for a free app. to get started with. There are better "free" apps in the iTunes store.

Great. I was a Vietnamese linguist while in Vietnam during the 60’s and this is a great review tool. Highly recommended.

Great Curveballs!. When u are studying a language, it's always nice to get a word or two thrown at you that is not usually found in your beginners lesson book. This app makes great usage of the concept.

Great, until it crashes. After a few days it stopped opening for me, even after the last update.

Nice app. It's pretty nice for a free app since it has the spelling and voice pronunciation of a given word. Would like more features for organizing words.

Opens then crashes. The app opens, I see a picture, it says loading then the app closes.

Poor choice of voice. Vietnamese can be spoken with a Northern, Southern, or other regional accents. Southern accent is easiest to hear and learn. Unfortunately this app uses someone with a Northern accent

Not sure why they bothered. The full version might be good but the light version isn't. You supposedly get one new phrase a day but you seem to lose one a day too. You can't really learn one disjointed phrase at a time unless you're a parrot.

Great app!. I find this app very useful. The pronunciations are very cool. Pictures would be a welcome addition!

Useful and well-organized. Sometimes audio does not match written words at all. The lessons are well-organized. Good for building vocabulary for someone who has some knowledge of reading and speaking Vietnamese already.
