This app is amazing. This app helped me practice all the chords I required to learn my favorite songs. The tuner is also very helpful. The fact that all these features are free js goes to show how brilliant this app truly is. I would give this app a 10 stars out of 5 if I could.

If i’m tuning this gets it acurate. Wow! Cool that it evan dose it better than SimplyGuitar sometimes. No really i tried and this actually worked on my iPad! And also i push myself with the advanced cords but i think it should access the cords i learn in SimplyGuitar 😀🙁. I love all the not-tuning and i love the tuner and fooling around with all the guitar’s evan though i only have an 6 string acoustic. So in conclusion i have 4 1/2 things i like about the app and 1/2 things I don’t like.

Best Tuner App Yet. I’ve used GuitarTuna for years, even paying for the Pro version for guitar and ukuleles in various tunings. All of the sudden it wants to charge me a monthly subscription, even though I’d paid for the full app. No thanks, GuitarTuna with your cutesy name. You violated my trust. Be gone off my phone! Enter this great app. Simply works with a nice intuitive interface and easy to see graphics. Nothing annoying, nothing futsy. Chromatic tuner is a bonus. I can already tell I love this. Thank you for a great app!

This app is annoying. I accidentally broke my tuner so I decided to download a app because I didn’t want to buy a new one I wouldn’t recommend this app I tried tuning my e string for 15 minutes it made no progress when it does though it’s always saying that it’s to low even though I can clearly hear it’s to high and it goes all over the place I would recommend just buying a tuner this app made me put down my guitar and made me lose inspiration and I’ve been using this app for months it isn’t the first time this happened sometimes I have to sit there for 30 minutes. It takes a really long time to get everything tuned. I think this app would be really cool if it wasn’t so bad.

Love it!. I inherited a guitar and I’ve been wanting to play for a very long time and I’m finally starting to really get into it now, this app is very helpful with tuning if your gonna tune a guitar use this app! All I ask is they add Zach Bryan songs to the learn a song part of the app and cadd9 broken window serenade would be a nice song to learn also!!

It is so good. I got the app last year and I have been using it ever since. I honestly don’t have any problems with the app. The app listens to it so nicely, and I even got my guitar teacher to check if it was tuned and IT WAS!!! I love it so much, if you are deciding to download the app do so. Tbh I had my doubts and thought that it wasn’t listening or just didn’t tune it right, but I was shocked that the app was made so nicely. Thank you Simply Tuner for making Tuning much easier. 🙏 I have no need to try to learn the cords because I have classes but if you do there are tons of other Reviews to read from. Hopefully you find what you are looking for..

I don’t like leaving negative reviews but this really irritates me. It’s not a bad app, I’m glad it’s free and it’s somewhat effective, but it’s really irritating to see it register my strings as in tune and move on to the next string when it isn’t in tune. It shows you how close to the ideal tuning you are but as soon as it gets remotely close to the middle it just accepts that as the best job it can do and moves on to the next string when the previous still isn’t in tune. If that could be fixed I would come back but I think I’m going to have to use a different app that gives me the control over tuning and not itself.

Best tuner. I have been looking around all day for the right tuner for an electric guitar and this is the only one that gets the job done. We were extremely frustrated after receiving a new Stratocaster and this is the one that gives us the right tone. I am very impressed and I love this app.

Great, but if you’re left handed…. Simply Tuning has been incredibly helpful to me, but also incredibly confusing, for when I tune, I have to go in backwards order from what it is telling me (because the strings on a left handed guitar are inverted from their normal position). It is also near impossible for me to learn chords and songs for that exact same reason. If I had one request it would be to ask that you add a setting to change that. Goodbye!

SimplyTuner (Guitar Tuner) Review. Love the app. The software that has gone into this app has been very beneficial to my learning. I am not good with tuning guitars, and this app has helped guide me to know what sounds “right”. This app is not only beneficial to me, but to my peers, friends, and classmates. Amazing but get some Kurt in there. This is a generally great app with great tuning you can tune many instruments but I want some more songs. Come as you are by nirvana is a great song and you should add to the song list, maybe Evan through in a little more like breed or smells like teen spirit. It would honestly make it a much better app. Thank you.

Simple, Easy, No Ads Tuner. I started searching recently for a new tuner app after getting tired of (app that shall not be named) pushing them over and over. Downloaded this as I know simply piano and liked the “no ads” promo. And I’m more than impressed. Multiple tunings. Chord practice. Songs. I’ve found the new app I will be recommending to my students for the foreseeable future

Best guitar tuner!!. Typically don’t write reviews, but I can’t express how amazing this app is. A couple years ago I bought a small tuner but it didn’t help me that much, I recently got back into guitar and I wanted to play Open D tuning but I couldn’t find any good apps that had Open D for free. This app has so many tunings so I can literally play my favorite songs. I love love this app.

READ THIS. I really want to learn guitar so I got my brothers guitar and was trying to learn so I got the app because the ads were so cringing so annoying and wouldn’t shut up the app and it wouldn’t even let me play anything because it said I had to pay and plus I don’t wanna play no $11 a month just to learn an instrument plus the tuner even work because it said one of my strings was “tOo HiGh” when it was perfectly in tune and the app wanted me to tune it so low that my guitar string broke (ngl) so don’t buy the app

Best free tuning app. Not only is the tuner easy to use but you have almost every tune known to man… lol It kinda gets lost at first on the top string but as soon as you turn the tuning key it’ll figure it out… The rest are easy from there. Plus it’ll teach you chords and how to play some songs… I think it’s awesome for free… Honestly If they do make you start paying for service I hope they keep it affordable… That’s the problem with people and companies nowadays they want to get rich quick… But anyway, thanks for keeping it simple and free. 👍🏼

Pausing videos. I‘ve only used this app for about 5 minutes, buuuuut I like it. I‘m glad I don’t have to pay 30 something dollars to learn guitar… for one week. The one feature that I either haven’t figured out or that doesn’t exist is pausing the videos. I‘m kinda dumb and have trouble figuring out chords, so I’m doomed unless I can pause these videos

Chord practice. I was practicing some of the chords and I noticed the practicing A9 the video tutorial the man in the video described using fingers 2 and 3 and then when I moved on to the practice tutorial it shows on the bottom right to use fingers 2 and 3, and the picture in the middle far left, it’s shows fingers one and two. I’m sure it’s whatever feels most comfortable for me while playing it, I just wanted let you know for whomever developing the application.

I don’t write reviews. But I will write one for this. The fact they let you tune to most of the main turnings is incredible. I also love the chord book. It helps sooo much. And it doesn’t go into complicated jargon Just here is the A5. Now A7. You killed it guys. So now I am retrying the simply guitar app. Xx fingers crossed for me. Keep it up.

Great. I got a ukulele two weeks ago and all the videos and apps I watched and downloaded only helped a little bit. But this app was wonderful but my ukelele sound a bit high but still, it helped and all the other apps were so confusing but I don’t know if it’s just me. But I definitely recommend it but it takes like almost 30 minutes to do it but worth it- and I believe there is no cost!!!!

Guitar players new and old will love it!. Simply tune is awesome! I am a new player trying to learn how to play the guitar, and I absolutely love this app! It helps me tune my guitar quickly and it has songs to play along with! It can help players who have just started, or have been playing for years! This is an amazing app!

First time user. First time that I’ve ever used this app. Originally I was just looking for a tuner but found chords and lessons too. So far the tuner is a spot on match for my D’Addorio Equinox tuner. I’m not only new to this app but to learning the guitar too. I couldn’t be more pleased and can see me using this app a lot.

Awesome Tuning App. This is the beat tuning app I have found that allows you to tune to different to different keys. I have tried others but they have ads that interfere with the loading of the app that usually never allows you to access the app.

Amazing. I downloaded about 2 dozen other “free” apps and this is the only one that’s actually free. I just wanted a tuner, but every other app wants (literally) a monthly subscription. This app at least lets you tune for free, even though they offer other paid services. Well done and thanks for providing shelter from the storm.

How simply guitar helped me. This app is freaking amazing… Hi my name is Drew I am 14 and after my brother moved away I could not get GOOD help to practice my guitar but then I looked up a tuner and saw simply guitar and I thought I would try it so I downloaded it and I tuned my guitar and got curious I looked at songs and then practice cords and I instantly feel in love with the app so my recommendation is definitely buy this app it will help you so much. What I thought of this app. I just got this app, but I love how it sends so much feedback. I also love how I don’t have to pay anything, do you know how hard it is to find something that you don’t have to pay for? I got my guitar about 3 years ago, but I didn’t know how to play it, then I got really busy, but now I can start playing it like I always wanted to. And for that, I thank you.

DO NOT INSTALL TO TUNE YOUR BASS. I hate to leave negative reviews and this app is not the worst, it proves quite well when using to tune a guitar and I use this app to tune it. However, if you own a bass I heavily suggest not to use this app for it. Not only is it super difficult for the tuner to even pick up a sound (I’ve tried it at max volume), whenever it does it will bounce around saying that it’s 2000 or even 3000 Hz too high or too low. When it says the strings are in tune there’s a 50/50 percent chance that reading is actually accurate. P.S. I’ve dialed my bass and my amplifier knobs every which way just to get the same result every time.

Best easiest app to use…… and its free!!!!. What a great app. And it doesn’t cost anything. never paid anything on this app.. and it’s reliable to a clip on tuner you figure with the open mic, you might get background noise or it may not tune it correctly, but they did it right with this app. I recommend it to everyone, please. A lot of different options mostly free so give it a try you just might like it just as much as I do.

So cool five star. Honestly, thought that this would be a mess up but this is really good. It’s honestly very free. It doesn’t contain any crap because like I was just trying to look for something to tune my ukulele and straight up. I downloaded the easy tune app and it costed money but then I downloaded this one and read the reviews and literally it cost no money I just literally did my call and it was very easy. It literally took maybe five minutes probably lower than that. It didn’t break any strings like they say it does. It doesn’t cost any money no crap five stars guaranteed honestly download it.

Good. Overall this is good because you can change to dune in different keys like drop d, which I use for heavy metal songs, but it tends to shoot around from way too high to way too low, and takes a couple tries to get right. This might just be because of my crappy phone, but overall very good.

1 addition. I use this app every time I sit down to play. It would be the attest tuning app in the known universe if it could do this one thing. When I’m tuning and pluck my string it automatically goes to th next one even if its + or -3 for example. And I’d rathe have the option to choose when I’m ready to move onto next string. Otherwise awesome

Better than others. I was a fan of Guitar Toolkit, before it was abandoned by the developer and stopped functioning. That app cost $10, which I still consider a worthy investment considering the length of time I used the app. I downloaded GuitarTuna, and deleted it immediately when I opened it for the first time as saw it had a monthly subscription signup required to use it at all. Not cool. I would have paid a one-time fee, but a subscription doesn’t make sense for a tool that should operate standalone on my phone. This app works, and it appears to actually be free. Don’t listen to the reviewers who claim they broke a string trying to tune with this app. Definitely a user malfunction, if not trolling. As far as the aesthetics of the app, I would prefer an analog-style needle to the horizontal line guide, but it doesn’t change the function. The green box indicating “in-tune” is a bit loose, but the center line is on pitch. I recommend this app because it works as advertised within the limits of the iPhone microphone, and it’s actually free with no subscription paywall bullish¡t.

Easy to use. It’s easy to use. Doesn’t cost anything you can use the free plan. It’s cool. Try others and they always want you to pay pay pay pay pay, and this one doesn’t do that. It doesn’t pop up with commercials every time in the middle of you trying to tune your guitar. I think that’s the best feature besides that it’s easy to work. I like this app.

Best tuning app hands down. I’ve downloaded ALOT of tuning apps. This one is leaps and bounds ahead of the others, simply because you can access all the different tunings, without paying a fee. Other apps you get standard tuning, and that’s it, then they want $50 a year. Not happening dude, this one you can’t go wrong with

Reminds me of those days in 4th grade…. Where I, along with my 30 other classmates, were all given plastic recorders and early readers musical instruction booklets made from recycled paper. There may be more to it, but I know how to use a guitar tuner, I even made that known to the app (Yes). The automatic switch to the next string is TERRIBLE. A guitar tuner set to make you out of tune. Note sounded in E but not when tuning the guitar to Eb. I don’t know, maybe there’s some settings that will correct these issues and if so I will revise my review. It is odd, just in general, that apple asks for a review 45 seconds after opening the app.

Good tuning app. I love it because it’s really easier to tune and I actually understand it. If not, if you don’t have the simple guitar app, you should get that too but yeah also download this if you don’t have a Tuner because it’s really easy to use.

My Go To Tuner. I am amazed at the variety. I think the only drawback would be if you have a baritone ukulele, and the practice chords they give you are definitely for a standard ukulele tuning instead of the standard baritone ukulele. I think overall this is the best tuner available for multi instrumentation

Pretty good. I think this app is quite good for tuning when your guitar is a little out of tune, but when there is a huge problem with the tune of your guitar, it can get confusing. I still think this is a very well done app though. I’m only 10, but it made tuning my new guitar a lot easier. Thank you!😁

Perfect free tuning app. It works perfectly. It’s not full of annoying ads and it’s free. The least I could do is leave a review and say thank you. If an app they could easily charge money for and people would gladly pay for it. Coming from someone that has played for 30 years and normally tunes by ear, my guitar does sound MUCH better when dialed in perfectly. Thanks again!

Easy and simple. I starter with my guitar class and my teacher said to download some app and I found this app and it’s is really helpful and turned my learning more easily . Cannot Tune. I found this app as my tuner finally died and wanted a better option than going out to buy a new stock of batteries. Spent 15 minutes trying to tune 1 string. Always too high or too low until it finally registered. Moved on to the second string same issue. So I’m done with that. I wouldn’t recommend if your trying to quickly tune your guitar to play. And I looked through the reviews to maybe find a fix, since there are so many positive reviews. Strikes me odd that there is a response to literally every review. And no I will not be going to whatever email you send. You’ve promised fixes for literally every person and I won’t fall into that. For the people that it works for it works. Just not for me. There’s my 2 pennies.

Just what I needed. I have dabbled with guitars before, but could only play a handful of chords. I stopped playing for a while, but I saw this app and decided to give it a try. It was honestly such a great decision. I’m learning proper technique for chords and tabs, at my own pace. Tabs have always been daunting but my confidence is beginning to improve. New Features / So Many Tuning Options. Been using this app for yeeears!!! Had never before today noticed there are all these tuning options to turn to different keys and concepts for playing. Very fun playing around right now.

Awesome app, but needs bug spray. I really like this tuner app. This is the only tuner app I know that is accurate and lets me access other guitar tuning configurations for free (and it comes with a chord library to boot). My only complaint about the app is that whenever I try to tune my A and low E strings, the app gives ridiculous readings saying that those strings are 3000+ tones too high. Please fix this problem, I really like this app.

Good. I wrote a review a while back about how it stopped worked after using it for a couple times but ever since it’s improved and I always use this app to tune my guitar , I found that if you try to tune your guitar while having distortion it will not pick up the thickest string so just go into a clean sound and it will have no problem

Works great - No adds. I’ve been using this app for a while now. I’ve had no problems with it. It also worked for my bass player, and he said these kind of apps don’t usually work for him, so he was surprised. There are extras that come with the app, but I have not purchased it. I just us it to tune my guitar, and it works great.

Functionally beautiful. This is easily the best tuning app I’ve ever seen. It has a big catalog of tunings, and it actually has C Standard and D Standard already listed. A lot of other apps I tried, you had to add it to the list and you still couldn’t seem to repeatedly play the string. I had to keep stopping the string. But with Simply Tune, it just works. I can put my phone down on the table and tune my whole guitar in seconds. I also like the visual when you reach being in tune. Very satisfying.

Best for the money $0. I have a clip tuner but sometimes that’s not always on me so when I run into random people at after hours at their house and they have a guitar but it’s not in tune or even have a pick this tuner keeps me on track for free. Couldn’t ask for a better free app being an acoustic strummer.

Best Guitar Tuning/learning app ever!. This app is FREE and AMAZING 🤩 It will give you free lessons from being a beginner to an expert. I recommend it for ages 10-40 as it is amazing. It is very simple and easy when trying to tune your guitar. It will show you which peg each note is and wether to go higher or lower. Overall it is the best guitar app ever!

Oh my golly gee. Oh my golly gee I absolutely love this tuner. I have tried so many different tuning apps and online tuners for my ukulele. This one listens to you play your notes the tells you how off it is, as well as giving a little falter room. You can even practice finger placement for chords. Overall if I could I’d give it an eleven out of ten.

6 string tuner. It took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but after comparing to another guitar of mine that’s in perfect tune, they were identical. And you cant trust them all

Also very very dogwater. I know I wrote another review about this, but also one more thing is I tried these other things I tried the tuner I actually got it it was so close it was literally near that box you know, but it still didn’t fill up and go to the checkmark, so I highly recommend don’t get this in this app it’s very dogwater, trash, useless and worthless.

Can tune ok but... The app will not let me pass the first cord lesson I’ve tried resetting the app and playing slow piling fast charging finger position every thing I know how to play em but the app won’t recognize it and just keeps showing the same tip I’ve been following there’s also no skip button so I can’t even learn other cords and strings with this app

Don’t use this app. This app and their other app will break your guitar strings and even if you don’t want to tune your guitar it forces you to. It doesn’t recognize your guitar sounds on the mic at all . Remember there are better apps out there than this garbage. Not worth breaking strings .

I learned how to play in two days!. I wanted to tune my guitar and I didn’t realize that you could use the same app to play music 🎼 and learn how to play music!!! 🎶 🎵🎹!! I also learnt that you could play many songs, and tune, a ukulele, and a electrical guitar

Worked right until it didn’t work at all. Sadly, this app completely stopped working for me. I thought it was a hardware issue but the microphone on my phone works perfect for everything else. I even uninstalled and reinstalled it and nothing… so I got rid of it today.

Good with room for improvement. I like the auto mode, but if it’s turned off it is really frustrating to be working on tuning a 12 string to have the app assume I’m working on a string other than what’s selected.

Simple & Easy-To-Use. I love the layout of the app. It is straight-to-the-point, simple, easy to use and the slider bar shows how far off each string is when you’re tuning it.

It is worth it just a small problem. It really works if you have patience I do not have patience but I tried one more time and it finally worked I didn’t know that it wasn’t tuned correctly it was just really annoying and frustrating process

Tuned my ukulele in minutes!. Most reviews mention how it took them over 30 minutes or so trying to tune the ukulele. It took me about only 5 minutes. I wanted to play ukulele, so this app is perfect for beginners. (It also tunes guitars)

Idk. It could be just because my guitar is tuned but when I string all the cords together it immediately says I got it right I don’t have to hold it down or anything I don’t know if that means that this ad basically just lets it go off the sound of an actual guitar either way if it’s right or wrong but yeah

AMAZING!!!. Litterally just the simple fact that it doesnt make you pay for other tunes than standard is awesome. But on top of that it gives you a complex setup giving you every detail. I came out with a sound so crisp i almost died.

Must have app for guitarists of any skill. This app has a very beautiful UI with many tuning options available for guitar and ukelele. If you play these you need this app. Excellent.

Pls fix g# standard. I’m not sure if it’s just a glitch on my side or not, but when I select g# standard it just doesn’t pick up the last string in the sequence like at all? This is the best tuning app I can find on the App Store but this is my only issue

Best I’ve found for beginners. If your new to guitar playing this app makes it so simple to tune your guitar a kindergartener could do it. It shows you which sting your tuning and which tuning key it is on the guitar head.

Amazing. Harry’s house came out, and because i sing, i thought i should learn to play my guitar, so i could play and sing harry’s house. i have never tuned guitar, and i did it in like 3 minutes. so easy and is free. 10/10 recommend <3

Pick this one!. So far this app is true to form: You open it, tune up and play! I tried another tuning app that eventually wanted me to pay some subscription, this one so far is honest!

Just too easy and accurate!. I’m a beginner so I purchased a tuner. While waiting for it to get here I tried this app. I returned the timer. I am learning online and it is just to easy to open my IPad and tune it here and then go to my lesson site and begin learning. Excellent app!

Works better than the rest.. Be sure to choose your instrument. Very simple, yet effective. Takes a bit more than a clip on tuner, but if you're without anything else, this works very well.

Simply Tune, more like Simply Awesome!. This app is crazy good, it has chromatic tuners, and tuners for my electric guitar. It also has many other options, although the chromatic tuner is really the only one you will need. All in all, it is a great service, and has no ads!

Great alternative when you lose your tuner. I have a squire strat that goes out of tune frequently. This has tuned it satisfactorily every 15 minutes. I would recommend it to anyone.

Easiest ever. This little app makes tuning your guitar so easy anyone can do it. The small differences in tone my ear doesn’t pick up is corrected using this simple application. I enjoy tuning and knowing my guitar is correctly and properly tuned.

Great way to learn the guitar. It is a great way to teach kids or adults guitar it is great because it can hear you play so the app knows how to help you it is definitely worth the price it is

Adjustments can be made. I am just learning how to play the guitar and chose a random app to tune and learn chords. But I think it would be really good idea to have a tracker of how many times you practiced a chord, and having a mastery score of it as well.

Very convenient. Tuning is good and right there on my phone. These days we always have our phone on us. So convenient to have an accurate app to tune on the fly! 👍

Great tuning!. This app is overall great at tuning and works good not just for guitar and it works for my ukulele too! They do have a tab called "chords" but it teaches cords for guitars. I love this app but it would be nice if there was a setting to show the different instruments when showing chords since ukuleles only have 4 strings.

Ukelele App?. Great App, transitioned into being a beginner Ukelele player. Although you guys have everything from singing, guitars, pianos and tuners I didn’t see an option for other instruments such as the Ukelele.

Alternate tunings. Very pleased with this app! Upon opening, the interface is easy to navigate and understand. There are lots of alternate tuning options which is also great.

Tuning easy lol.. I have been playing guitar for six months and always struggled tuning my guitar now I can lol. This is so easy and simple (get it) anyway download this app. Still easy still download plz.

No way I could tune by ear. Or even some device. The UI makes it so easy, plus shows you the keys of the string you plucked. I used to turn the wrong key…or whatever you call it. But I know I’m in tune.

In tune like a cartOOn !. Other tuners just are too sensitive . Something wrong with the software , not providing the right readout for whatever note played . This straight out of the box worked ! 😎

Forward to the Past!. Long ago I was a Hippie and a folksinger. Then I spent 4 years in art school and began freelancing doing illustration. My time to play & sing became limited and over the decades I drifted away from it. Well, fifty years on I saw a nice steel string guitar in a shop and bought it. Some things came back, but the chords had gotten foggy in my memory, as well as the technique of tuning. I no longer owned a pitch pipe. Better than I thought. I used this app and another that has a huge name. This app was better- user friendly, accurate, and that’s pretty much it.

Absolutely wonderful for the novice. Very easy to tune with this app. Very quick and easy. And I feel like my guitar is in much better tune than when I used a different app. I love it.

Good enough, no complaints. Quick, str8 to the point.. after the download and 30 seconds it took for the app to set up, I easily corrected the tuning to my acoustic guitar AND ukulele. Good job team.

Great tuner with benefits. Not a bot, just think this app is cool. It’s good for tuning guitars, ukuleles, basses, and such, but it’s also good for learning songs. The songs aren’t album accurate, but it gets you playing the songs you love

Accurate and free!. I have shared this app with many other players, easy to switch instruments, and to switch from low and high G strings-overall easy to use.

Best tuner for iPhone. I have found that this is a very friendly user tuner. That is highly accurate. I have you recommend it to those wanting a great tuner they can carry with them everywhere.

Is there a catch?. This is probably the first app review I’ve ever written, but a working tuner app that doesn’t try to charge you and has alternate tunings? Yes please! I feel like they’re probably going to move to a paid model at some point, but I like it now!

make sure you turn your phone volume up. it works when your phone volume is up. A little hard to dial in but close enough. I gave it an extra star because it has so many alternate tunings, including double drop D which I love.

It works and it matches.. Pretty good for an app. I obviously was hesitant but I matched the system with my usual reader…it kept up. I can see this being loads of help on the go or just at home. Good work.
