Great customization but some visual issues.. Loving the app, super clean looking and the level of customization in the pro version is great. Two main things I would like to point to for fixing. 1. When tapping the widget or selecting one of the functions of the player(back,pause,next) the widget gives a small visual pop as if it was attempting to open the WidgetPod app that kind of can takes you aback. If this could be fixed that it does not happen that would be great. 2. When the option of open music application for tap feature is set the app has to open first and then redirects to iTunes. If this could also be bypassed then this would be 5 stars for me no problem.

love it but. every time i update the widget to what i currently am listening to it doesn’t want to and displays the wrong song artwork it works fine on my ipad but when i'm on my iPhone it doesn’t want to update the album artwork/song name id love for that to be fixed

Love this but. Love this app for its cool and cute design, but there’s an issue with updating when a new song plays. It doesn’t display the name of the song and the album cover automatically. I have to either turn off my phone or open the app to see the updated information. Other than that, it’s a very good and cute app!

Cool I guess lol. It’s a pretty cool app but the only downside is having to pay to customize it, but it’s only a 1 time purchase of 4 dollars which I don’t think is that bad, especially if you really enjoy a nice home screen like I do, I don’t regret the purchase lol it look really good on my Home Screen, but the only thing I dont like is how you have to press the app so the song on the widget changes🧍🏻 cool app tho

Right idea but doesn’t work with HomePod.. This is just what I was looking for for iPad especially! I bought the Pro version immediately (quite a deal for just 2$ Lifetime!) My big problem is that I want to control the music playing on my HomePod. This Only shows the music playing on my device. When I forward the music to HomePod it shows that the song is paused. Also the Full Player lacks the AirPlay feature. Please fix this in the next update and I will gladly give 5/5!

Extremely disappointed. Honestly such a waste, even for 2.99. Very buggy and doesn’t look nice at all. The app opens and closes after every click, the ‘now playing’ isn’t accurate as you change songs but it still shows the previous songs info. Overall: useless, not helpful, and simply a waste of money. Bought it yesterday and already deleted. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Finally. Since widgets have been announced I have been looking for one that displays what is now playing with music playback buttons. Some small glitches when the buttons are pressed, but it works! Note you have to get the pro version $1.99/lifetime to enable music playback. Totally worth it. Great job devs

Awesome but….. I love this app and if you love widgets this is for you. It even has a cool record option while music is playing. The one thing I wish was there is a transparent background option. I had to custom fit my background to it to make it look seamless like the rest of my setup. If you aren’t worried about that then it’s perfect. The only other issue I have is that the widget pops up a little when you interact with next or pause but that is how all widgets are at the moment.

Almost perfect…. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love WidgetPod. Especially how much you can customize your widgets. The only issue is when I start playing music it sometimes doesn’t update on the widget, even with the app opened. I tried closing and restarting the app, no luck. Otherwise great idea + widget!

It does what it’s supposed to do but it could be better. On the small widget, if you have playback controls on and you have the general tap action set as “toggle playback”, it does exactly that but if you want to go to the previous or next song, you have to press on said icons very precisely otherwise it will pause/unpause; same for whatever action you have configured for tapping on the text. Also, there’s a delay of a few seconds between when you press the playback buttons and the the music application responds. Those are my only complaints.

Surprisingly works. I took a leap of faith and bought the pro version. It actually works quite well despite apple limitations. Worth the 3 bucks.

Simple and Clean. Looks great, love this addition to my Home Screen. My only ask is to not have the app auto-launch each time I press play/pause skip/back on the widget. Seems like this could be a limitation of the iOS? I’d prefer to not always have this app open in my app switcher just to use the widget.

Absolutely Amazing.. No matter what apps you have your phone, this developer can make a better version of it. Absolutely amazing work and one of my favorite devil pets of all time. Thanks, keep up the good work!!

Needs a song progress bar. Widget is great, but would definitely need to throw a song progress bar in the next update for sure!

The absalute best out there. Yes thank you so much, apple music currently playing music on there widgets, but not on Spotify's widgets, thank you for this grand opportunity of customization, I swear me and apple are going to get a divorce like we are married or something.

Overall great. This widget is overall wonderful but I have couple small things I’d love to see improved or added. The first is small detail, I’d love if control buttons could adapt to the color of the artwork as well. Second, the battery drain with this widget is a bit rough. I’m typically able to end my work day with around 73% battery after streaming music/podcasts all day. With this widget, I’m starting to see closer to 60% left.

Love this widget!. I was really bummed that the Apple Music app doesn't have a useful widget...no worries though, because this app is great and does exactly what I needed and more. Can easily access music thru my home screen, and the app offers lots of customization. The developer is very responsive and has put a lot of work into this product. Highly recommended.

Quite good. Very good but has its limitations. The biggest is the fact that the app has to be running in the background for the widget to refresh (despite having background refresh turned on in settings). I know Apollo (the reddit client) refreshes its widgets every 15 mins or so, so I’m sure the developer of WidgetPod will find a way to do that.

I like the app but. I really enjoy the app but it’s somewhat annoying that you can only have the song title and can’t have the control options without having to pay for premium

Great app. Don’t understand the negative reviews. The app works as advertised, performing the playback functions I purchased it for. Also has some nice customization options. All for $3. Nice app!!

Great Widget!. I love this widget but I really wish “Solid Color” option for the background could be defaulted to the album’s color. Similar to how Spotify’s is. Instead we’re forced to use “Blurred Artwork” if the widget wants to take the album’s color scheme. Hoping this gets added later

Bug fixes plz.. Payed for full version and still the widget itself does not feel premium with the widget opening and closing just to pause the song is crazy annoying. Also when using the redirect to player it has to open the widget app before redirecting you to music. Just makes things feel even slower than having no widget.

Impressive App - Disappointing Quality. I never write reviews (this is literally my first) - I found out about this app through TikTok and love the vinyl feature/rotating display. I am disappointed that the song title doesn’t automatically update after each song - I have to click to refresh, which is annoying especially having to pay for the feature. All in all - very creative and impressive looks, poor and disappointing performance/quality.

Cool idea but it’s broken. I like this widget and I’d really like to use it but it’s completely broken. I’m on iOS16 and the widget just doesn’t update when the next song plays. If you click on the widget to open the player/refresh the widget it’ll show the correct song but unless you do that it doesn’t update. Would not recommend buying this widget.

Cool app I wish it could skip to the beginning of a song. Edit: Thank you for responding to my apple podcast question :) I do have something I’d like to see added: the ability to skip to the beginning of a song instead of skipping straight to the previous song.

Widget does not update if new song is played from Apple Music App. The widget does not show latest track instantly. For example, if you change the track in Apple Music app, this app continues to show old track on the widget. It takes forever for it to update the widget with new track.

Should just be $3. Ig it’s a good app but it basically just relies on u paying for the $2.99 upgraded version to which at that point the app should honestly be marked as $2.99. Seems like it’d work fine but u pretty much just have to buy the pro version for it to work at all

great when it works. stopped updating the song names and artwork and got stuck on one. I’ve tried everything and it’s still stuck. would’ve been more stars if this was fixed.

The app we needed. Love this app, makes it easy to manage and view what track I’m playing. Only suggestion I would make is to add the track progress bar into the widget, but would not be surprised if it isn’t possible because of iOS limitations.

Great Music Widget. No complaints, especially knowing how apple restricts certain things from developers. Updates the music immediately and great controls

Don’t waste your time.. I understand Apple’s limited widget flexibility and the inherent limitations, but this advertises way more than it delivers, and just why it exists, is befuddling. It’s incredibly clunky and difficult to set up. It needs to be manually refreshed just to show the current playing track on my Home Screen. Honestly I spent about an hour going back and forth trying to figure out how to have a simple playback control on a small-sized widget, while showing what is currently playing. Simple right? Nope. This ‘pro’ version advertises playback controls. It’s $2.99 I wish I could have back.

Love WidgetPod, just a quick suggestion. I absolutely love this app and the widgets work very well! The only thing that I’d add would be the ability to skip, pause, and go back on the small sized widget. I know that there probably won’t be enough space for the album art but for me at least I’d rather be able to control my music using a small sized widget than look at the album art! Anyways thanks for a great app that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!

Attitude adjustment needed. Word of advice when a customer suggests something, listen and consider it rather than emailing the screenshots of why their wrong and you’re right. I didn’t even open your emails, I deleted them. Adjust your attitude, humble yourself and maybe just remove the feedback button man. It’s not that serious. You know best for your widget. Now get on.

Good so Far!. Works better than any of the other widget apps I’ve purchased so far. Pro version is affordable at 2.99 lifetime. A+ , would recommend.

Close to being perfect. I love this app, and it is very customizable and gives you the option to make your widget blend perfectly with your home screen no matter what layout you’re aiming for. However, there is a huge feature that’s missing that’s very important to me, and that is automatically refreshing the “now playing” song. I know that it works fine when you have the WidgetPod app running in the background, but I so badly wish that the widget would update without needing to run the WidgetPod app. I gave the app 3 stars because that’s a huge deal for me, and is kinda the whole point of the app. I know this feature isn’t implemented due to Apple’s limitations, but if there is ever a way to work around it, that would be awesome. It’s still a great app either way, and I will continue to be using it! The automatic refresh would bring the app to 5 stars though.

Nice looking but poor performance. Great looking app but I wish I had been able to actually test it on my Home Screen before buying (as opposed to being able to build it in the app but not actually see it in action). If I start music via Apple Music, it doesn’t update until I tap the widget and have it redirect me back to the Music app. That might be an iOS limitation, and fair enough if so, but I didn’t realize that u til after shelling out for the full app.

Love the idea.... It is great idea to have album art shown on the home screen, like "bowtie" in the old time... But syncing seems to be broken as far as I experienced meaning the album shown in the widget doesn't sync with the music actually being played most of the time... It kinds of defeat the purpose of this widget for me. I wouldn't recommend until syncing works as expected.

a few minor setbacks. hi ! first off, the app is great. i've been looking for an app that works like this for a while. but that doesn't mean it doesn't have issues. for one, i js find it slightly annoying that the single feature that most people want; the vinyl is locked behind a paywall. while having pro features is okay, this is kinda useless as most people using the app are looking for the vinyl feature, only to find its behind a paywall. and also it would be fine if I could customize it at all, but the fact that that's also only for subscription users is irritating to say the least. but thats kinda it. i would recommend to make more free features as paying for a widget is kinda stupid imo. bye !!

Really great but I’m confused. This app is very nice and I highly recommend it. The customization is incredible and looks great. My problem is that I had recently managed to get my widget to update to the song I was currently listening to, but I can no longer seem to make it happen again. I see lots of people say that you need the app running in the background but I have tried that and it won’t work. Can somebody help?

A must have widget for music. A rare app that in its simplicity brings me so much joy. Highly recommended, Upgrade to Pro. It’s worth it. I hope large size widget is being planned and the dev will include a play a must history similar to Apple’s widget.

Fantastic!. This is a great App / Music Widget. Customizable in so many ways, I like to change all the colors and the tap. Plus this is hands down the best Apple Music like tap available. The large widget with the record player is awesome! Thanks for the hard work!

So close. UI and general design is great. Nice and minimal. However, after paying for premium, I noticed that every time I change a song or pause it via the widget, the entire widget glitches strangely for a second or two. If this was fixed, I would definitely give this 5 stars.

Fix?. Whenever I add the widget to the home screen, the background is just black and there is no play button or anything. Is this an app problem or is there a way to fix it?

Needs one major update. When a new song is playing and you have the WidgetPod widget on your home screen, it doesn’t change the song when the song changes in the Apple Music app like it normally like it would normally change in the Apple Music app but when the Apple Music app music song would change when that song is done, it doesn’t change in the widget of this widget pod app it used to it but every time it’s on changes the widget is stuck on the last song it doesn’t change to the new song playing needs a major fix for that plz

Great Widget, thanks for not making it subscription based.. At this point it is ridiculous on the part of Apple that we have to pay for a widget that plays music that the phone should already come with. However, it is a great widget and I did not hesitate to buy the pro version because the developer did not get greedy and go subscription-based model. Keep it up. Yes, yes, I know developers also need to put food on the table, but some these apps are getting out of hand with ridiculous subscriptions. Keep up the good work.

amazing widget. Definitely one of the best music widgets I’ve ever used. The only issue is that the widget stops refreshing itself and stays still after closing the app, which to my understanding shouldn’t be a problem because the other two music widgets (musicview and tunetrack) work well without opening the app even though sometimes there’s little latency. My guess is widgetpod might have different working mechanisms. But still I think refreshing without opening the app is very necessary to me. I hope this feature will become available.

Great but could use a few enhancements. Love the customization this app provides, however, for paid app I wish there could be some more small detail options added. For example I would like the option to edit the text size in the widget, thus allowing songs with long titles to be fully seen in the widget, especially the medium sized widget. If that isn’t doable for whatever reason then a moving banner transition to show the rest of the title test would be cool too.

Not sure. When I click the widget to open what I’ve selected which is the Apple Music app it first opens the widgetpod app? Also when I click the controls on the widget such as next song, it does work however the widget has a glitch like episode where it increases in size slightly and goes black before doing what I’ve selected? Is this normal or could this be because I am using ios15 public beta 2?

the only free widget look bad. To get access to any customisation, you have to pay. At least give some free options for customisations.

Love this app!!. I’ve only been using this app for a day now, and it is the best music widget app I have ever used so far!! Love how customisable it is and also very easy to use. Definitely worthy every cent for the the premium version, 100% recommend :)

Fantastic!. What a beautifully designed app!

Great; just 1 bug needs a fix.. I love this app; it provides the essential customisations to the music widget for use. Definitely worth purchasing! The only thing holding it back is a bug (or design issue) that means it doesn’t sync very often, meaning that the currently playing song isn’t always visible (it could be the song played 20mins ago).

Payment required. Using the Apple Music app with this widget is free. but using Spotify costs 5 dollars. Disappointed

Battery Hogger. Awesome app, except sometimes it chews up a lot of battery when running in the background. There are times this app is constantly running in the background even when there is no music playing and drains the battery quickly. I really do love this app but had to uninstall it. Fix this issue and I’ll happily give you five stars.

Speechless... 10/10. The features and integration of this app is quite simply speechless, this is the now playing widget we never got from Apple, and is 100000% fully worth the money for the plus version of the app (super cheap). The app pulls off exactly what I imagine Apple would make for a now playing widget themselves. If i could rate this app 6 stars I would. With the limitations the developers are given with iOS widgets, what they have pulled off is quite amazing and I really appreciate the work gone into this project. Definitely worth it, amazing app!! 10/10

Not actually free. Not actually a free app. Only gives you one single default layout which is identical to the default Spotify widget, if you want anything else you have to pay.

Looks great, but functionality isn’t as it should be. Awesome app, the Spotify widget needs to take some notes from the design. My main gripe is the widget doesn’t update song by song without clicking into it.. so unless you tap on the widget to open the app to refresh, your Home Screen still displays the artwork from a few songs prior.. a bit pointless really!

Unsatisfied with animation quality.. I would kindly like to ask for a refund for my purchase of pro. I expected the skip and reverse track feature to be a less glitchy experience and having had to pay for it, I do not believe it is worth the money. That being said, if the animation is ironed out in the future I would be more than happy to repurchase as the functionality is sound.

Paid for premium.. Worth every penny. Look forward to future updates

8/10. this is a great app, when it works! it has been working fine for the past couple days linked with spotify but recently it just stopped working and updated the song when being played, hopefully this to be solved soon

Awesome!. This app is amazing. It adds that little bit of extra that my home screen needed. Looks great! The one thing that I’ve noticed is that when the album art is set to vinyl, the artwork click will only do what the general click is set to do, no matter of what the artwork click is set to. Would this be able to be fixed?

I love this app. It adds flare to my Home Screen with an almost perfect widget. This app is exactly what it says it is and works without fail. Picking nits I would love to see podcast integration. I’m not sure how difficult that would be to do but it’d be sweet to see the podcasts I’m listening to up there with the Apple Podcasts app

Great app. This is a great app and i love how it makes my home screen look i just wish it was better at keeping up with what music i’m playing. the app has to be opened for it to switch on the widget.

Perfect!. Thank you so much! This is exactly what I’ve been searching for! Easy to customize, looks great, it’s cheap (without a greedy subscription) and it doesn’t collect any data. What’s not to love? If you listen to a lot of music on you device, it’s definitely worth grabbing.

No playback controls. Can’t get playback controls to work so the functionality just mimics the stock music widget, this app seems redundant.

Does the job but not all the time. When I initially installed the app, the playback features would follow along, if a song is playing the play/pause, previous and next button would follow along, but most of the time they remain stuck in an idle position and every time I tap the play button, it just does the redirection to spotify but still doesn’t change the buttons ( i did purchase the pro )

Must pay to use with Spotify. Very disappointed that you’ll need to pay to use with Spotify while Apple Music support is free…

Doesn’t update until clicked.. When paying music the widget doesn't update the song unless it’s used which is annoying.

Meh. I purchased the premium and the widget worked good at first. Then I had to open the widget to get it to synch to Spotify. A week later it wouldnt even do that. Im thoroughly annoyed. I’ve tried deleting and re-adding, turning the phone on and off but nothing has fixed it.

Do not bother with premium version. I purchased the in-app add-on for the premium version to be able to use Spotify and needless to say this app is just a waste of time. When using the widget, it will work as long as you don’t lock your screen. But once you lock your screen if you try to use the widget again it will freeze, reopen the WidgetPod app, redirect to Spotify, and then process your original input on the widget (pause/forward/go back). NOT GOOD DO NOT BUY THE IN APP PURCHASE FOR PREMIUM!!!

Cool app / Very glitchy. Paid for full version. Whenever i switch a song the widget does this weird glitch. I love the concept, it’s just not very smooth. Please fix the glitching when you skip or pause a song using the widget.

Meh!. I don’t like the fact that every time that I press media player buttons the app opens. The now playing artist always is on delay to show up. Good concept but poorly executed. Very disappointed.

Almost Great. It would be great except for it says “Widget Pod” under the added widget instead of the app that it’s supposed to direct to.

So many glitches. I paid for this app and the widget is constantly frozen on a song or podcast that I listened to days ago. There seems to be frequent updates to the app but it never truly fixes the bugs. Very disappointing

Have to pay to even put the widget on your screen. If ur gonna make people pay to use your app then have the person pay before they even buy the app so you don’t scam people and make people not even want your app

Simple and great. The one thing I would add with notifications is having the app icon be a note/music glyph instead of WP’s icons. Or maybe just the album art?

WHY?!. You’d think customizing your own widget is fun only for you to FINALLY get notified at the end that you need to pay. Yes it’s not expensive and it’s a one time pay but, what is the point anyways? And esp getting notified at the end

Doesn’t work without the app being opened.. The widget doesn’t work if the app isn’t running in the background.

Running in background overnight. Basically the title, woke up and checked battery usage as i'm sometimes curious of how much i used my phone the previous day and say that it was running all night and drained it a good maybe 15% from the chart. Will be asking for a refund for premium features

Free version is pointless. Apparently if you want it to look and function as advertised you have to pay for the pro version. Otherwise you just get an ugly black box that doesn’t do anything.

Can’t do anything unless you have premium. Unless you pay 2.99 for premium, you only have one option to add.

I need some help. After customizing my widget to my liking I go to add it to my Home Screen and when I try to search for the app it’s not there but some other widget apps do pop up, is there something with this app that I need to do for it to work?

How the stock should have been. Would love this app more if it can add the controllers to the small widget as well.

Could be better. The app does not update the music that is being played. So it’ll show a different album cover, a different song (different from the album cover) and neither are what I was last listening to.

iOS 16 - Needs update I think.. Not working real well on iOS 16. Still using it, and really like having it.

Best music widget yet!. The best music widget for iOS 14 yet! I’m dumbfounded how you were able to get the widget to update after every song and bypass iOS 14’s widget restrictions!

Great concept and useful widget. Super useful to see what music is playing on your widgets. And the customizing is awesome. But the widget tends to glitch when you use the controls, like the widget wants to open but it skips the track like you wanted to.

Apps working again. Thank you, this feature looks too nice on iPhone for it to be absent. Good job keeping the app working.

Cool App but BATTERY drain. This app is very cool! I absolutely love it. But it’s draining my battery like crazy! On my battery usage screen it shows as 13 hours 40 min in the background. Is that correct? Ouch.
