Not free anymore?. Update: Ok, so you need to subscribe to grow your collection, or you’re stuck with what you already have. Too bad! I’m so disappointed! Original: This is the best app of its kind. Most of the time I get the right result, a couple of times I even got tricked on buying a stone and this app told me it wasn’t what I thought I got. Also, the app is allowing me to modify the name of the rock that I scanned (in case it gave me the wrong answer), which is great because they like to improve the app with our help; other apps of this kind require subscription to be able to do that. Good job here! I have a large rock collection and I organized it by color within this app. It took me long enough to realize there’s a easy way to number them so they appear in the right order in my collection. A problem that baffles me is, when I acquire a new rock and want to place it in the right place in my collection, I give it a number that belongs to that place I want it to be, but that number is already taken by another rock and the app doesn’t notify me of having two rocks with the same number, which is very confusing when you have many rocks. But I’ve gotten used to it and I can fix it quickly. Great app!

Raw Stones. I’m a native of the Big Sky State of Montana. And with our world in the process of changing comes natural disasters, unfortunately. In our final months of summer the heat index was high enough to cause severe flooding across much of our upper elevations. And in my line of business,an experienced Concrete Construction Contractor for over 30 years has made me somewhat of a “Rock Hound” and definitely an avid Gemstone and Raw mineral stones collector. Very confident in my skill set to recognize Precious Raw Stones your “Rock Identifier App” is very accurate and has made my hobby more enjoyable knowing I have a very valuable collection. Not only did it correct a very crucial error or should I say mis-evaluation on a stone I thought was some kind of a Clear Quartz or Sea Glass turned out to be a 153.7 carat Raw Diamond that had been washed out of its original resting place, thousands of years before it was actually pushed out by the natural forces of the Earth. After a few different opinions it’s estimated to be worth in the seven figures area which is life changing! I’m the biggest skeptic I know so for me to give this “Rock Identifier App” a HUGE shoutout it’s definitely worth it! #rawinthe406 #yellowstones

Great app. This app is amazingly accurate, and it even gives videos and tutorials on how to identify rocks using different methods. I have wanted to learn more about geology, and this is definitely a great start. It has almost no purchases except for premium, and it is a great experience for learning about rocks. It also shows zodiac and healing stones, tells you how hard your rock is, gives you a description, tells you how to identify your rock, has a self learning feature, and more! I love this app. It gives you a collection to keep tabs on your rock, and a history feature. It also tells you how common or how uncommon it is. I definitely recommend this app to anyone you wants to learn

Great Potential-rockhounders best friend. Needs more rocks in database that it can identify. There are some obscure ones but it seems to always choose the same ones. Also, I have put in probably 300 name suggestions to add, going through those more and adding more would be very appreciated. It is great for cataloging. Oh, and when I search my catalog, can you make it to where it searches all the words, the description, locale, everything. It shouldn’t be that hard to adjust. Especially when the name isn’t in system and I have to save it under something else, I put the right name in description and want to be able to find it again. Or search by locale or other things. I am probably the user who uses your app the most if you can look and see. I use it daily. So these improvements would make my life so much better! Thank you!

10 out of 10 love this app. For real love this app the AI is amazing LITERALLY AMAZING. Like bro I was talking like the dumbest person ever and every question answered perfectly. Also the identification is pretty great it sometimes you just have to take the picture a few times or talk to the little AI guy but. I’m like almost 100% deciding to pay for the subscription soon to talk with geologist’s because I have some rocks that are just simply so confusing for me and the AI to figure out but either way I love this app. It makes labeling rocks and double checking myself literally so easy.

It was helpful. But I still need help… explanation down below👇. I had a box of stones, or crystals that sat in said box for a good long while, and as someone who has adhd, autism.. I identified some of the crystals that I had. But I had a problem, I couldn’t figure out the rest. My aunt and mom recommended this app to me, and it has been helpful, but it has given me options that still don’t apply to the stone/crystal I have. I’ve already done the photographs of each stone, but I still need help identifying my stones.

No more witchy wonder. Ever go to the witchcraft store and buy up a bunch of crystals and rocks and then get back and put them in the salt so that they cleanse and then never get around to cataloging them and then they sit there for months if not years in moonlight and getting dust from the shelf and you think “ I have to get on the Internet and I have to figure out what each of these rocks is it’s gonna take forever” and so you never do it and they continue to sit there? Well, you don’t have to do that again! Just use this app and identify what you have and save a collection in the app! I love the people who made this. If only it had a sister app or feature for us witches or new age people to add features we need to remember .!

Great Helper. This app has come in handy. I started using it in October and I use it daily now. I make jewelry and only use genuine gemstones. I have collected gemstones for years, bought a lot of jewelry. The company I bought all my jewelry from also has a jewelry school one of the hours of fine jewelry. So I know the stones and this app is right on key. I have only one or two. That I thought I need to check this again. It’s wrong. But it isn’t. I enjoy this app. I will always use it.

Great app. I tested it on basic rocks and it identifies them extremely well. Obviously for more rare specimens you should have a professional look at them. If you’re unsure of what the picture gave you, if you describe in great detail the chat guide has a good answer commonly. I had lost faith in the app but then later on it started working much better and after I verified with other sources, quite a good app. Even more so because it isn’t one of those apps that is unusable without premium, heck I don’t even think there’s adds! Developers definitely did an amazing job.

Monthly Subscription?. I 100% ADORE the app and think that is wonderful. The only option I am getting for a premium subscription is the annual plan. The app to store it shows that there is a monthly plan available. I plan to upgrade to the annual plan, for the moment a monthly plan fits a better with my dwindling disposal income this month. I’d love to be able to access all of the premium features for a monthly rate until I can upgrade to the annual plan in a few weeks. I have gone to faq/help in the app, on your website, and pretty much tried every way under the sun (I know slightly dramatic, lol) yet I can’t find a way to access that option. Have I missed something somewhere? Could the app developer please point me in the right direction? I’d super appreciate it 😊 As I have already gone a bit long with this review, I won't go into a lot of detail, but I highly recommend this app. I have tried about five rock/gem/crystal Identifiers so far & this one is hands down the most accurate, informative & the UI is far less confusing. I have been totally impressed! Update (5 mins later) So my brain kicked in & I went to the expired trial in my subscriptions & went to view all plans. My apologies for making those that read this suffer through my confusion above. I still wanted to leave the praise, but pressed for time at the moment, I’m not able to edit out my subscription location struggle. Thanks for the app!

I love this app so so much. I love this app so much. I didn’t think it would work but it does. I love that you can still use it without having to buy the subscription. Sometimes it won’t give you the correct scan but I always double check by looking them up on Google to make sure. 90% of the time it gets it right. It also gives a whole bunch of different info like where it naturally occurs or the composition or metaphysical uses for them. This app is one of the best apps on the market for minerals and crystal identification. If I could I would give it 6 stars

Pretty much love the app. If I could give four. Five stars I would. What I love is the accuracy of the rock identification app and the details provided, especially what it was historically used for and it’s possible healing properties. Sometimes though if you take a picture of the same rock but I had a different angle it will give you a completely different rock identification. This makes it hard sometimes to figure out which rock it is actually. Overall I love the app though it’s been very educational and fun to go exploring with my kids.

New age - witchcraft. I was initially excited about using this app to help identify rocks on hikes, but only after a minute of reading through the info, it talked about healing and energy properties! God never gave power to rocks. At best, it's pseudoscience. Deleted app right away. Get this junk out of your life. Hope, joy and healing can't come from a rock. It comes from the precious blood of Jesus who died and rose again to save our souls and give us abundant life. A rock can't be your savior. It's...a rock. Self-help is temporary. Love from God is forever. If you're using rocks for healing, then you already know it's not working. "I am the way, the truth, and the life." - Jesus in John 14:6 "A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I come to give life - life that is full and good." - Jesus again from John 10:10

Great app. Just let me buy it without a subscription please.. I really like the app. But honestly. This subscription thing is going to cost you a ton of sales. I’d have been willing to pay 10 or 15 dollars for a high quality app. You are asking for almost as much as an office subscription for this app. Please stop. No one wants 15 app subscription charges per month on their statement and unfortunately I won’t be buying this until I can actually buy it instead of renting it. Keep up the good work on the identification side though the core of the app is fantastic. But I can’t rate this higher without the disclaimer that subscription based apps are what’s wrong with the App Store today.

Best app ever. The only way I could see that is by using an external display of your device or the device itself and not having a dedicated device on your phone or computer to use your device on a screen or something else that would make the display a lot easier for the users of the devices that you use on the screen and not just on your screen or on your computer or the computer or the screen you have to have the screen to display it in your phone and the computer you have a device to use it on your yiu screen or whatever it was on a laptop and it would be the screen that I had on

Must Have App For Geode and Crystal Identification. This is a fantastic free and paid app! I now have the premium version and it is so easy to use- you literally take a picture of the geode or crystal in question and the app immediately begins to identify it. Even better, it doesn’t give you the same handful of results and doesn’t read everything as quartz, which is a nod to its intelligence, in my opinion. It has been incredibly accurate and has a lot of knowledge, which it freely shares. Pics upload clearly, which is always appreciated (the apps camera is better than my iphone cam…). Try it out, you have literally nothing to lose!

Legit. Great App! It creates a collection with your pictures where you can document details of each one. So far it’s the most accurate identifier app I’ve tried and it doesn’t overwhelm you with ads and/or purchase restrictions. But it will easily take up 5GB or more of your phone storage if you don’t delete the pictures of rocks you aren’t adding to your collection. You cannot select more than one photo at a time to delete and I currently have 480 aside from my actual collection photos and I don’t have time to go one by one.

Been waiting a long time for something like this. I’ve downloaded and used nearly ever app available on google and apple trying to find something that works this well and accurate. Do all my rocks get properly identified…no,however, I’m also not a geologist so maybe there’s a few I’m wrong about. This app gives multiple choices to run through and info about those choices. I’ve not used another app that’s as accurate or pristine. My only issue with this app is the astronomical price combined with no feed to speak to others about what you have or help identifying in a way that a computer can’t pick up. I know I will be canceling my membership shortly because I can be paying this much for a visual collects and identification to only use a few times a month but that app it’s self is total great. I think 12$ a month would be pushing it but that’s the most I’d be willing to pay month to month. Try this app for at least a month if you are a rock hound or trying to boost your knowledge. It’s pretty good and easy to use.

Much Improved. Update: The app has improved a ton since my original review so I am updating this to 5 stars. It’s been really on the money lately. The auto color change is gone (yay) and the accuracy has really gone up. Love to see it. ——— Original review: I have this company’s plant app, which is amazing, so I have high hopes that this will eventually gets to where it need to be but so far Rock ID leaves a bit to be desired. The results so far have been pretty iffy. Probably gets it right about 60% of the time but I e had to adjust a few times for stones that look very similar. Some it could not even find. I think crystals in general are tougher than plants because they don’t have as many unique identifiers. And with phone photos two pinks stones are gonna look like rose quartz. I’m using this more to keep track of my collection than I’d unknown stones because wit just hasn’t been reliable enough for the more obscure stones or colors / shapes. Also recently the app has been changing the color of my stones as I take a picture?? The nice background free edit the app does automatically also adjusts the color to match the stones typical coloration but that’s not the stone I have. It turned my teal adventurine tower into a typical green color. I don’t want that and would love for this feature to be optional. I guess it’s assuming the photos are bad / incorrect but that’s not always the case. Anyway - hoping this improves with time and more data input

Lost me at “Healing crystals”. Was really liking this app and the scientific explanations and descriptions of how rocks form, how to identify, etc. Seemed really cool. Then I stumbled on descriptions of healing crystals/rocks. Wut? For example, obsidian = “Obsidian is considered a protection stone, that shields against negativity with truth-enhancing properties. It is said to bring clarity to the mind, drawing out mental stress and tension that sometimes leads to confusion. You can carry it with you to help ward off negative forces or keep the stone in your home, office, or anyplace you need protective energy.” Are you kidding? I refuse to support this pseudoscientific nonsense and nobody else should either. Unless a rock/mineral has shown scientific evidence for health properties (like those minerals in many coenzymes and vitamins), we shouldn’t be spreading “healing crystal” nonsense. Very disappointing.

Rock identifier. I’m super bad at remembering names of things so when I saw this app it gave me hope that I could then start identifying and remembering all of the rocks that I have. I was a little put off by needing to pay for the app but when I started using it and saw how on point it was I was thrilled and $30 a year is not bad at all to now have the confidence showing off my collection and being able to tell people what they are is one of the best feelings. Thank you!!!

Using it as an inventory only. I was really excited to finally have an app to keep track of my collection. Have hundreds of crystals and stones and nothing is organized! The app is great for my situation - knowing the identity, just need an inventory system - but the accuracy is way, way off for use as identification. Also, please please please allow manual input of the name instead of being forced to choose one that is incorrect. I have some obscure pieces and if the app doesn’t recognize it there is no way of altering it or putting it in myself. Also, it would be awesome to allow the search feature to search everything, not just the name and where it came from. It serves its purpose (for me) but it’s really pricey for having so few features and not being accurate on most of the IDs.

This is Awesome!😄👍. This is an amazing app and I really recommend it if you’re making a rock collection!100%! Need to know about birthstones? They’ve got it. Diamonds. Gold. and crystals? Got it. Minerals. Obsidian. Opal. and clear quartz? Got it! They’ve got everything you need to fill that collection of rocks. Birthstones. Minerals. Crystals. E.T.C. Now it’s time for [ insert name here] to start they’re journey for those rocks. And Beyond! Overall this is a amazingly fun. Addictive. And Educational identification app and gives me a better view of rocks. I hope they keep up the updates! And I hope you enjoyed it too!

Even with help I don’t know what rocks I have. First of all, I am not being negative towards the app, I am poking fun at myself. I just don’t understand labeling any better than before I downloaded this app. Lol. The app is actually very useful, I just need to understand the order of naming rocks or minerals better. You know, Order, family, genus, species type thing, but with rocks. Depending on what angle, lighting, and exposure, I get several results and suggestions for one rock. I’m not sure how to determine which result is the best or most accurate name of the rock I want information on. I’m still learning, but I do recommend this app for anyone looking for more information on rocks and minerals around us. It is very useful and I have learned a ton, I just need to process the information better.

Love this… but now requiring a subscription?. I love this app and have been using it for 2 years now, and I have been able to keep my collection. But now it’s requiring me to buy the premium to keep my collection. I really love this app, and I understand the costs of maintaining the app. However, I am unable to pay for the premium subscription and really upset about losing this app. I wish I could keep my collection here, but I have to find another app and none of them compare to this one.

awesome ,works great. at first I tested it on a obviously fake object it was actually plastic but I thought it be interesting to see what it looked like then I tested it on my amethyst which I got through a little around the world kit and you got it right so so far it’s working great and with my newfound interest in finding crystals I love it and it leaves a lot of information with all of the crystals even the ones you have even found yet but i think it would be cool if you could have the picture of your crystal one of the pictures instead of your ( i know it’s a bit counterproductive but with my picture taking skills I think this would be awesome to be honest) never mind i figured out how to do it!

Obnoxiously incorrect. I gave it one star because it was not correct even 20% of the time. I used multiple light sources and it displayed multiple incorrect identities for the same stone. It called anything that is clear and faceted a diamond. It calls most things howlite or agate. But when I showed it a bright orange dyed agate, it called it amber. Anything dark green it calls malachite (some are, some aren’t). Anything black, it called obsidian. This was so wildly incorrect that it’s not even a good tool to provide a starting point to identify on your own. I used it on dozens of stones and so, so many wrong. It got ammonite correct. If one didn’t have the background knowledge to know how bad this is, how would one know they’re being suckered? Cancelled after a couple of hours. Certainly not worth $30/year.

Awesome program. I find the Rock Identifier accurate and worth every penny paid to access. It’s helped me organize over 600 crystals with only a handful of incorrect responses which were the result of poor specimen quality. I thoroughly enjoy reading the facts presented on each stone and the ability to ask questions. It is helpful that the program gives second and third response options as that information lets me know what other options were considered by the system. There is one thing I wish would be more consistent and that is incorporating the “street” names of the crystals. I’ll be a user indefinitely if Rock Identifier do continues to exceed my expectations.

No such thing as a 1 week free trial. It says that the first week is free and after that you can choose your subscription. That is a lie… My card was charged about $23 that I am still waiting to see credited back. It’s now 3 days after that free week has ended and a week +3 days after I made certain that I cancelled everything so I wouldn’t get a subscription fee. If they’re going to be dishonest about not getting charged until after the first week, then give me full access. I’ve already been charged for it. Or credit it back. Otherwise this app is little more then a scam. They will charge you despite saying they won’t and then keep that money even after you cancel everything.

Helpful. Helpful for the identification of rocks and minerals. This is my second year using it as an avid rockhound. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t impressed at first. However, the identification has greatly improved, and 9/10 times it chooses the correct identification. I would still invest in a kit that includes a steel blade, a piece of glass, a black and white streak plate, and some Hydrochloric acid drops to aid you in identification. I really like that I can catalog my collection. It would be nice if the subsequent years the subscription was cheaper than the first (just to renew). I would also like to see a delete all feature, as well as add information to aid with identification like hardness, reactivity to acid…That would make it perfect. Overall, very good app.

Not bad, but needs work for better identifying. I am impressed with the ability of any app being able to, just from my photo identify a host of different rocks or minerals, However, It could use some fine-tuning. It needs better intensity from differentiating between rocks and gems. I would give it a at least it’s 75% accuracy right, for instance I have a meteorite but it keeps saying its onyx, but I hope that don’t discourage anybody from getting this out because it is a good app just needs work. Thank you for the app as it is helpful

Useful app!. I collect crystals, but sometimes I forget what they were. This is the best crystal app I’ve encountered after searching for one for a while, I definitely recommend to anyone with any interest in crystals! SO MUCH INFO!! About crystal/stone/gem in the app. All the information is ACCURATE! is anyone interested in crystal healing? I know its a pseudoscientific alternative-medicine practice, but I mean its really fun. I love that it shares with me not only healing properties crystals but history and the geographical backgrounds! Only 1 thing this app is lacking. I really wish that I could share the crystals I identified or create my own additions to the community where there would be plenty of happy people out there!

Beyond amazing!. This is my new favorite app! It’s informational and it has everything I could possibly need pertaining to rocks and minerals. Wether it be for school purposes, hobbies, or even just for fun this is the app for you! Not only is it informational, helps you accurately identify any rock you can find and is rapidly updating with the most recent information so as to identify more rocks! I would rate this app as a 12 out of 10. The best app I have found, it is definitely worth a download. You won’t regret it!

Nice App but Basic. Before I had this app I had not identified most of my rocks. It doesn’t help database experts to ask me if I got the right Id. I don’t know, which is why I chose the app. I know it can’t be perfect, but I feel like it’s usually a good answer. It seemed to have worked better on my polished stones since it will only give me one ID. The buildup of extra layers of ‘stuff’ hindered the good components to be Id’ed. It would be nice to know the total composition but that is likely impossible on a phone app. But I did hear these phones are mighty powerful! A printed list would be sweet like print #1 through # 20. Thank you for your hard work. Its a good app for sure!

Good idea/intentions—needs lots of work.. I used the app at first trying to determine the type of stone I had as I had forgotten the name of it. I was 90% certain it was a variation of moonstone, but needed an opinion. Well, it identified the unknown stone, the white moonstone, and my peach moonstone as Carnelian Agate. 🤦🏻‍♀️ None of the stones were anywhere near as blood red–pink as Carnelian Agate is. I’m going to take photos of all of my stones that I am certain of their type and submit them to the app to further this app’s usefulness, accuracy and ability to identify other user’s stones. Until then, I’ll continue to rely on more experienced, trustworthy, educated sources. Definitely don’t trust the app’s answer blindly. You could be holding an amethyst and the app will tell you it’s Onyx.

Inaccurate but the best of its kind so far. The app is highly inaccurate but it’s still fun to use. The constant berating to upgrade to premium doesn’t really help though. For all of the reviews saying that it identifies stones by color, you need to understand that AI has a limit. But the AI doesn’t identify stones by color, it compares the stones to other rocks in its database. It’s very difficult to program an app to figure out what a specific stone is with literally millions of other stones and crystals. It’s much better then all of the other identification apps around but it still needs a lot of work.

Astounding , Sensational & Thorough. I was quite surprised at the ability of this app to identify even the little morsels of crystals in my Necklace Charms. This App gives you so many different examples of the possible incarnations that each stone/crystal/mineral can come in. Pictures of numerous color a variations, both Raw & Tumbled versions. Each picture you take to identify is given 2 or 3 different possible matches, each match having plenty of example pictures for you to easily narrow down & feel assured as to which the 2 or 3 options of Crystals/Minerals displayed is the correct one. Followed by a whole slew of factoids, the geological processes that created it, it’s uses in wholistic medicine/spiritual & energy work as well as myths, legends & history surrounding the stone.

Eh…. This app is great if you really know crystals or rocks and just are uncertain of a few. It gives you a few options and one of them is right about 60% of the time. If you don’t know much about rocks this app won’t help you much as sometimes it will give you options that straight up don’t make any sense. If you know rocks you’ll know it’s wrong. Personally it’s always gotten the obvious ones right. when I was testing it out it got crystals like rose quartz and amethyst correct, but couldn’t identify BISMUTH which is extremely unique or selenite which also is very specific. I would take your pics on a white background or a pice of paper for best results.

Love it!. i’ve been trying to get into witchcraft lately and i’ve loved finding out the healing properties of different stones. i have some red agate, but i couldn’t find it on the app. i have realized some of my stones were on the app, but didn’t have the tab of “healing properties”. (the stones are garnet and tiger’s eye) i’m not sure if this just means they don’t have healing properties, or if the app just doesn’t have the info. i’ve tried to test the app and see if it would pick up the stones as what they actually are, but it was incorrect. my stones are really tiny, like grains of rice, so it might just be the size. other than that, i collect rocks and it’s great to know what they are and if they have any healing properties. however, i do have a suggestion. i cleanse my crystals with moon/sun water and it would be great to know if my newer crystals can be in water or not.

Rock identifier. no, this game does not have any ads and if you take a picture of a rock, it will tell you what kind of rock it is and everything about it. It is free to play no Wi-Fi required but if you take a picture of you know it's not a rock but if you take a picture of it anyways, it'll identify it is not a rock, but if you take a picture of rocket, I'll tell you if it's a diamond crystal or rock or a rock stone or sandstone, but this is a really cool app and you can add rocks to your collection and download them you can discover mini mini rock so different kinds. It'll tell you the hardness of what it's made of and if it's uncommon or rare or found all over the US or all over the world but get this game today. It is a really fun and cool game. I have 1000 rocks in my collection so far yes there are in app purchases but I don't need to put in any purchases is because I have all that I need click below and download today rock identifier.

A year “after purchase” review!!. I’ve scanned 28k stones in the year I’ve used it and the accuracy remains at 85%. I know almost every mineral so this doesn’t affect my overall review personally, but it may cause trouble with inexperienced collectors. To mislabel a toxic stone as an entirely different mineral can allow people feel comfortable enough to touch with no protection or gift it not knowing it’s potentially filled with heavy metals, radioactivity, arsenic, etc. Which brings me to my next observation, minerals that are a “potential match” should have a warning regardless if the main match is non-toxic or not. Being in the same visual group is risky enough for beginners. The update doesn’t allow already logged minerals to have a label option so there’s that too. Extremely unhappy about that as a subscriber. The app tends to slow down and freeze more as your collection grows so it can be frustrating in the field waiting for my catalog to load in 100°F 🥵 Overall, I’d still recommend it over other identifiers in the App Store.

STEALS MONEY. DOESN’T WORK.. This app is terrible. It doesn’t identify anything correctly, even those minerals that should present no difficulty at all. If your “rock identifier” can’t tell the difference between malachite and carnelian, you need to go back to the drawing board. The only picture this app correctly identified was of rock crystal (clear quartz) - and that was only the first time. The second time I submitted a photo of the exact same specimen, according to this app it had magically transformed into FREAKING OBSIDIAN. In addition to being absolutely useless, this app also charged my husband’s card $30 for a year-long subscription, something he didn’t authorize and didn’t want. I wish I could give zero stars.

Awesome app!. As others have noted, I love this app almost more than any other app on my phone. I have over 1000 stones cataloged in this app. The app continues to improve the identification of stones, and I appreciate that it is learning as time goes on. I would really appreciate if they would add a few more Synergy 12 Stones to their identification - for example,Phenacite. The only real concern I have is that I have all my stones here and I have used this as my inventory. I would love a way to be able to download my inventory so that I can save it and or print it, as I am worried that something could happen and I would lose my entire inventory. Also, if there was an easy way to categorize the stones instead of just by date. Perhaps there is a way to do that that I don’t know. Otherwise, I think it’s the best rock and gemstone identifier out there. The ability to just take a picture of your stone have a catalog is incredible. I also appreciate the new tabs to read about properties of the stone as well. Keep up the good work -I really appreciate it. If anyone is considering downloading this app, and/or subscribing please don’t hesitate. It’s awesome.

Good, but…. TLDR- Great app but has some flaws I love the app, it helps me identify my crystals and their properties. I don’t like that the app is constantly promoting premium. It’s 30$ per year, and I think that’s a bit much… this app works great without a premium subscription, but there are a few think that are not included without one. There are also a few flaws, like the lighting effecting the answer. For example: if the flash is on when you take the picture then it may not be correct. I had some smoky quarts and when I scanned it with the flash it said it was 5 else, but when I turned of the light it got it correct. So that’s just a few things to take into a-count before downloading this app. Over all I do love the app and use it on a daily <3

Dissapointed. As someone who works in close running of a crystal company, I’m very disappointed with this app. I bought it to see how it worked, hoping there was something out there to help crystal beginners. It’s unfortunate because I saw great reviews and had high hopes. You can imagine my disappointment when the app couldn’t identify any of my crystals correctly. Ranging from moldavite (a relatively unique looking crystal) to a common price of selenite which is very easy to identify. I just don’t recommend this. If anything, use the image search on Pinterest. Even that will get you better results. I hate giving bad reviews, but don’t believe the hype.

Great for scout leaders. At first I was disappointed that it didn’t show the rock type but it was user error lol once I got more familiar with the app I finally noticed what was right in front of my stupid face LOL It really is a great app; very accurate as far as my limited knowledge can tell. Just take a good picture and it will give you the right answer. However, as a scout leader I would only be using this app maybe once a year while we do our Earth Rocks lesson so I personally can’t justify the price of $30. But if you’re a rockhound I would recommend this app.

Almost Superb!. WIP. Could use more database, sort & search features; photo editing after the fact; and ability to export and create specimen labels. But identifying minerals is very easy & fairly accurate. I’d say near perfect accuracy on simple obvious specimens like various forms of quartz, agates, jaspers, gypsums, calcites, micas and common rocks like granites, gneisses & schists. However on fairly obvious minerals accuracy drops to 80-90%. It does gives 3 top choices/guesses & several photos to compare with easy access to standard ID characteristics for further refining/reference. I’d say 80+% of time right answer is 1 of the 3 choices given. But 10+% of my specimens come up very wrong & even though it offers a way to correct it & enter your own ID, if it isn’t in it’s database it rejects your correction! So bottom line, it’s great tool for beginners to ID & learn more about common rocks & minerals. It’s a handy quick start to whittle down choices for more advanced collectors. But a serious mineral collector will find current version of this app a bit limited in both Identification and collection mgmt. Having said that, it’s still best app I’ve found by far!

Great app for my spiritual journey. Was in search of a app that could help me out identifying crystals, I used google to see if there was such a thing. Once I found the app, it worked greatly for a stone I found at a construction site, in California. 5 stars and will get the year subscribe from me for sure. Thank the team for the excellent help. This helps even when asked about crystals or stones I wear now, take the picture and get the instant answer, for people who are curious of stones or crystals I’ve been wearing. Get the app you want be disappointed.

Love this app...so much potential!!. I’m a collector of crystals, so an app that allows you to simply photograph a stone & then identifies it for you is like a dream come true. While there is definitely room for improvement, it seems the developers of the app are well aware of this, encouraging the user to participate in this process, which I appreciate. I’d love to see a few things, such as: 1) the ability to print out ones rock /crystal collection, (ie I have 70 stones in my collection in the app, so a visual color chart that allows one to include your original photos and the name & main properties of each rock) I think would be super exciting, instead of just downloading other people’s charts of “the most important stones” since this is ultimately subjective and could be very creative. 2) the ability to add text to one’s personal collection. For instance, if I could, I’d write my own metaphysical associations and/or properties of the stones, & how I use the stone in my own life/work. While there is currently a plethora of source material in this realm, to combine the ability to identify & create one’s own personal, experiential source material via photograph and then recorded uses, metaphysical properties etc. would make this app an essential tool in one’s own process of discovery and learning.

This is the best rock and gem identifier app ever!. I am in the process of identifying every gem and mineral in my jewelry collection. This app allows me to keep a record of each, along with an enormous amount of information. I am doing this for my heirs and friends. when I pass, my executor is inviting everybody to the house for a party and she's going to lay out all the jewelry and everyone may choose exactly what they wish. They'll know what each gem is. There is more than one birthstone chart and show each month may have five or six different gems depending if it is the Hindu chart or the American chart, etc. Some gems represent the hour of the day that you were born, or the day, and so everyone will know what each one stands for.

Great for identifying rocks. I’m really enjoying identifying rocks and crystals with this app. Rarely have an issue, only if the stone is very small.

Feedback. I find it very interesting especially things you don’t know and the awesome information

Great. I scanned my grandma and it was classified as a fossil, well done, you’re correct

Impressive. I find this app very helpful because when I don’t know what crystal I get I can just use this app

AMAZING. I just got the app, I have loved crystals since I was 5! I still struggle with most names this helps so much best app ever❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great app. This is a great app to use for information and other stuff be even great if u can make a shell app for the same purpose:) great app

Scanning. Very funny I scanned a Lego piece and it came up with a rock an it said my carpet is limestone but it is not🤣

This app is amazing!!! 💗✨. I like using this app when rock hunting and my children enjoy finding new rocks and learning about them!! A fantastic app. I would add however a witch craft section for it is one of the main artefacts of crystals! Amazing work!

Great app!. The app is super helpful although sometimes it gets things wrong, but overall a great asset to have to identify gemstone’s.

Good app. Although sometimes I wish it was free for kids

Over priced guessing game. This game literally just guesses what crystal it is. I scanned a crystal and then when I scanned it again it showed me something complete different. Plus I know that not every single one of my whiteish clear crystals are Opal! There is no logic because they just guess the crystal based on the colour! It’s also overpriced because for an inaccurate app it sure charges a lot! It should be free! So, if your looking for a crystal app that’s very accurate don’t go here. Anyway, it still has some good qualities and sometimes it’s correct so I think it’s a 3 out of 5 stars.

Ok. I find this App a lot of fun and useful to identify the tumble stones It’s not always accurate and gives lots of results so gets confusing I’m hoping with time it will update and improve on accuracy For a beginner it’s worth having in my opinion

Great Rock App. I use it everyday in our crystal shop and it’s great! The customers like it too!

Very good. It said my hand was mookite 🤪 But otherwise it is very accurate

Love it. It’s amazing recommend for anyone and everyone

It’s nit accurate enough. I have this one crystal and I know it’s not amethyst but everytime I scan it it says amethyst

Good. This app is 98% correct but sometimes it is wrong and the metal detector doesn’t work but I recommend

Nope….just no!. Here’s the scoop….this app basically guesses what mineral/gem it is by the colour. As a gem cutter I had a variety of different stones on hand to test the accuracy of this app. Apart from opal and garnet it literally got every other gem wrong. Any jeweller will tell you that you need a spectrograph to make a somewhat calculated guess as to what gem is and even that’s not foolproof. For what they’re trying to charge (for the “guessing simulator” app) it’s virtually criminal.

Notes. Hard to get the photo perfect and so we can get the wrong identity. Would be great if we could write down notes to our stones because some know and wanna know a lot more about the stone as it is described

This is mostly wrong. This app is good in some ways. I tried on a few of my crystals and most of them were wrong. Only sometimes it would be right. It’s crazy how it says a pink rock is a amethyst!! You need more accurate identifications. You also need to put more types of crystals in there. I have a blue agate and if I search it up it says no results. There’s probably more then 50 rocks/crystals that are not there. Also, you need to make a search to ask question Sincerely, Dandelione

Should be free. If this was free I would use it for my business and since I can only find out 3 a day I have to delete my data and records so I can find out the rest not fair on a small business

Hit and miss. It can be a little hit and miss with results. One photo can have different results depending on camera angle and lighting.

Love it. Best app to use if you don’t know what crystals or gemstone it is you have xx

Doesn’t show how to cancel subscription. It gives free trial for a week then automatically charges you. I’ve tried all day before charging starts but nowhere noway to cancel. Only shows renewal costs!!!😡

I mean... I rated this app only 3 stars because yes it does do its job identifying rocks but.. i got curious and thought of scanning other stuff like my AirPod case, my phone ( in a mirror ), a scrubbing brush, a bar of soap and the results would be different rocks and crystals.

Amazing. If you are into crystals you would love this app! It got most of the answers correct and the ones it didn’t were mostly my fault ( I would recommend taking two photos and seeing if they’re the same) overall would totally recommend

Love the app. I love crystals but don’t know enough about them so I love the rock identifying app, it has so much information.

👍🏻. The app is very accurate and it shows you other pictures to compare

Won’t let you delete account. Not happy trying to delete app b4 Free trial ends snd instructions are dodgy and won’t let you delete. Scam … not happy. Someone at this place explain how to delete I’ve contacted apple support. If you take money out of my account I’ll take it further

Rock tester. So far it seems pretty accurate. Enjoying it.

Works like a charm. Every rock I show it gets it correct it’s a genius app and it’s helpful to know what ur holding in ur hands can be something better then u think

Not real. I took photos is real and fake pearls. And the reading was the same for both . Worked well on diamonds

Review. I’m not a fan of having to pay for the premium but otherwise it’s really good

Interesting. I’m enjoying this rock identifier app. Though you can’t take it a a 100% guarantee it’s correct it’s still a good app.

Not worth paying $50 for. I have checked many stones and it is only correct 60% of the time. Very frustrating

it’s okay. It’s a good app, I tested it on my real ones and it worked but some of them I didn’t know if didn’t make any sense it was good but also not the best but quite accurate I say 4/0

No good as it is. Even with premium, it fails to identify rocks 90% of the time, and I was being very patient. It seems to go purely by colour for minerals, and with proper rocks it has no clue. Terrible for trying to identify rocks in the natural environment, which I what I wanted. The app could’ve been so good, but as it is, it’s useless.

I LOVE THIS GAME I did not know what ALL! My rocks were named but not I know all of them. I love this so much I didn’t know what all my rocks names were and now I know them all how can you not get with this app!!

Fantastic App. This app is brilliant and to my surprise is highly accurate. Sometimes it gets it wrong but that’s only when a lesser known crystal/rock/gem looks like a well known one. I would say its about 90% accurate.

Canceling the app. You have to email the company to cancel no in app option to do so. I cancelled it through the Apple app purchases section. Hopefully that worked.

Great app!. It gets everything correct, and I think there might be a limit to how many rocks you identify, but overall, it’s an AMAZING app! It gives you the exact same effects of you don’t buy premium.

Awesome!. I wasn’t expecting it to be as accurate but it has been right about my crystals and gives cool information about them

Very good app. I am very happy that I have been using this app,

Nice app but still work to do. It works fine if you are scanning your crystals and you already know the names. But be aware if you don’t. It would go by the color only. I scanned my true turquoise crystal bracelet and a plastic light blue beads bracelet I own. The app was still stating they were turquoise. this app It will work to remind me the names of the crystals I own, but no to identify the ones I don’t .

the best rock app ever. L love your app because l can take a picture and you search it

Amazing!. I just started using it and I already love it. Really recommend it!

Rock identifier. Wonderful and interesting so easy to use

Lags. App won’t save or load have to close it and re open it to be able to save one thing at a time very frustrating.

5 stars. Make it have less questions for value

Thankyou Awesome. I just got this app it’s amazing very easy to use very interesting.

Rock Identifier. Inaccurate!!

I am so impressed what a amazing app. This app is so perfect for all of us who always have our nose’s to the ground looking for that most perfect rock or fossil to make our day. I love to find my own beauties to cut, tumble and wrap into jewelry. I am so grateful for this app as now I am going through my buckets and organizing them. No more do I have to scratch away on them to find out the Mohs thanks to all the wonderful info that is provided here at my fingertips. Also I love it when I realize how wrong I am and how much I need to learn. Thank you I am now learning to get the names right on what I have. For people who enjoy learning this is a wonderful app to have.

It’s a fraud app. It doesn’t give accurate information took the picture of the same stone gave me different results. It should be banned for stealing the money. Forced charges.

took my money. tried to cancel my subscription before i was charged- and was still charged for a year subscription. i want my money back and they will not give it back.

Omarolluk is back. Last time I rated it because when you click on the stone omarolluk it says no internet connection I tried again and again it still says no internet connection and now when I click on the omarolluk stone it opens and the omarolluk stone shows it’s information very good app.

I have a collection of rocks. Ty

I need my refund. Hello, whoever create this app need to fix it. I did a 7 day free trial and the app actually went and took my money from my bank account and I only said I was going to try the 7 day trial first. Like what is going on, this seems like some scam.

Shady Payment Garbage As Usual. Should be illegal to allow these types of trial to auto pay models.

Will charge you $39.99. When you sign up for the free 7-day trial they charge you right away. They won’t tell or warn you. Actually the app specifically says you won’t be charged yet but you will be.

can’t tell a real diamond from a fake. I tried this app on a cubic zirconia ring I have and it told me it was a real diamond. I also tried it on a fake diamond that was like $0.99 and it told me that was real too.

Excellent Crystal and Mineral Identifier. I Love this App. It was very worth the money to get the premium level in this app. I‘ve not only used this to identify my crystals and gems but also rocks found out in nature. I’ve categorized all my crystals and gems including date of getting the stone , price I paid and where I attained it from. I also find this very useful for the information it provides on each type of stone and uses for each stone. Beware this App could lead to serious collecting!

If it’s a trial - it’s a trial. And you shouldn’t have to take everyone’s credit card information or upload the app onto your phone using your data you’ll need to find out the tricky little garbage trick of 07 day free trial and you’ll be charged $40 if you don’t cancel ha ha he probably won’t remember so we’re going to take your $40 and then it’ll be too much of a hassle to get it back if you don’t want to have the trial. If you actually had a product that you were secure about and didn’t feel that you needed to manipulate people, you would actually give a free trial and then let people join at their wheel instead of manipulating them, and stealing their money because they forgot to cancel on the sixth day instead of the seventh day of the seven day. Yeah I know it’s a super long review. Thanks for wasting my time app. You’re welcome.

amazing. love it helps me identify rocks when foraging

Rock Identification. I Love the App !

Amber. Beautiful stone. This an amber bracelet and needed to know if it had any benefits I.E. healing. Etc

meh. works fine for basic crystals but gets a lotttt wrong and will give you different results for different pictures of the same rock.

Love this app!. Fantastic loving it

Cannot recognize basic gems. Confused plastic for rocks - plastic should really should be an option. Hard to correct if it gets wrong- sometimes you know it’s wrong but don’t know the real name. Also got basic rocks wrong from our national geographic kit. Didn’t remind me before the trial was over too.

i hate this app. i tried to identify a same rock and then the first result and the second result was different when i flipped the rock upside down :(

Inaccurate, but understandably so.. It can’t tell you if something is a crystal or not, and the identification isn’t always accurate. But that makes sense, since it’s just looking for photo matches, and crystal identification is much more than just photo matching. The app is great for learning about new crystals and keeping track of what you own, you just can’t take your answer from here as a final result. Do your own research, and this app is helpful. Only use the app, and it’s useless.

Hmm.. So for the same rock gave me 8 or so different options.

Didn’t work great. Didn’t use the app after a couple of tries.. Forgot to delete it... and they tried over and over again to try to charge me... Be careful just trying it..

Location. The only problem with this app is it doesn’t work out in the field where there is no Internet or Wi-Fi so I have to bring the rocks home before I can identify them

Works really well. I tried to find out what crystal I had and realized it was dyed agate.

Wrong. I took 5 photos and not one was right.

Top Top Top. App absolument géniale, pratique, facile d’utilisation… j’adore!!

Favourite app for whole fam. This is my fave app. Highly recommend. Spent the whole summer exploring geology w my kids. They were obsessed w this app and it took us on many adventures. My son now carries his rock collection around like a teddy bear.

Please don’t relay on this app!. This app correctly identifies basic rocks (for an example amethyst, rose quartz, tigers eye) but will mix up more complicated rocks. I wanted to test a few of these apps to see if they work and they kinda don’t. I do know quite a bit about rocks so take it from me- if you want to know what type of rock you have do some research, or even better go to a local rock shop and ask if they can figure it out. I had a rare type of agate (I got it from a thrift store for $5) that I couldn’t figure out what it was so I went to a professional to have it looked at. It was pricy but I eventually sold it for 15k.

Thankful for this app. Great app to store all your gems collection and clearly identify. Love that there is space for me to write additional notes. And that the app has included some healing benefits crystals may carry :)

Wrong crystal identity. The first crystal I went to identify which I’m pretty sure is faceted turquoise.. the app said it was howlite.. howlite is white.. this crystal is turquoise in colour… how accurate of an app

Rocks. It’s a really good app everything I scan is accurate, but you have to pay to go offline or after you do this or that and I’m broke lol the app is really good but you you wanna subscribe and pay each month to actually get what theere telling you go ahead I just thought I would leave this here

40$ for it to tell me wrong information. Would not recommend

😎😎😎. It is fun

Best app ever!!! 😍💖❤️. Love it! Tell you what is your crystals with a picture and all the infos on it. You can even keep it for later saving all your crystals pictures in it. Perfect! 😍🤩💎✨

Love love love!!!!. 100% recommend this is very useful for crystal shopping on the go and I created a collection for my insurance on my expensive crystals!

ROCKS MY SOCKS. Easy to use and very accurate

My collection. Love it

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I deleted this app about two years ago and just found out it’s Ben charging me 30 some dollars yearly for a subscription that I DID NOT sign up for and I’m still trying to figure out how to cancel it. Worst experience ever DO NOT GET THIS APP‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Bravo. Exellent identify function

Excellent. Seems to identify stones correctly which is terrific! So far so good. Only negative is in app upgrade to premium ads are annoying. Still learning to nav. App but it isn’t hard….

Admiration. Sincèrement, moins cher ce n’est pas tout le monde qui a les moyens

Review. It’s actually really useful

Get to know the rocks. And sometimes it doesn’t do the right stone that you think it is and especially you have to go to work with them right Best match, also see what else you think of this

Wrong result 👎👎. This app does not identify glasses or diamonds. 👎

Rock Identifier Review. I love this app!! It always helps me to identify every rock/crystal I found. I often get good results so I give it a 4/5 review!

User friendly fast and accurate. I absolutely recommend this app for anybody that loves hunting rocks.

Impressed. Very surprised

It is very good and works very well that’s why I rated a five stars it is a very good app. It works very well and can identify many types of rocks and gems

App doesn’t tell you everything in the ad. One The app doesn’t give you the price

Inaccurate. I was excited to try this app after seeing the high rating, but it only accurately named 2 out on my 6 gemstone rings. I accidentally took a blurry photo of my bed and it identified it as opal.

Really useful!. I am looking into witchy things and this app is a BIG help, although it doesn’t tell the spiritual use for all crystals, it’s a big help to identifying crystal I use the most! It also gets most crystals names and all that correct that I know of, there’s only been once or twice where I’ve doubted the result. Totally recommend if you’re new to crystals or want to learn names or the sciencey stuff about em ☺️

I like this app. I definitely like the app and plan to do the yearly subscription at a future date. I haven’t explored it too much yet but so far it’s been pretty accurate with its identifications. Lighting and background will effect your results. I had to try one specimen a few times before the right identification came up. There’s are several that do look similar so it’s understandable. I only gave it 4 stars for now but I might change my mind the more I use it. 😁

Not sure how dependable this is. Over all the app is great on telling you the crystal or pointing you in the right direction. However, be cautious! I took pictures of what I know for a fact was colored glass, plastic, & even cloth & it couldn’t tell so definitely do not totally depend on this app to tell if a crystal is 100% authentic! Do more research aside from this app if your a crystal person! If it’s just for somewhat educated purposes then go nuts!

Meh, you still have to know rocks. I went through part of my rock collection and there were so many misidentifications. It thought anything opaque with color was jasper. -Unfortunately, they don’t allow you to leave a rock unnamed and once it’s “identified” you can’t change it. -I also wish you could choose broad categories instead of specific formation names. -Also, the pictures aren’t necessarily helpful in identifying your rock. (Your rocks don’t look like mine). Maybe with more crowd sourced pictures, the algorithm will do a better job, but for now, its pretty rough. It might do better with polished or more common specimens versus raw. A good (local) book would probably serve you better. I would recommend Rocks, Minerals & Geology of the Pacific Northwest for anyone in the area.

Ummmm…….. Ok I don’t want to be harsh so if it comes across mean I am sorry, but this is just my experience. Ok so I wanted to see how it worked so I did two tests, I scanned a rock that I knew what it was cause It had a label and the app gave me a totally different answer ): For the second test I scanned a green piece of plastic, and it said it was amethyst…. But I would like to say this app was a good idea and it was a smart idea and if it worked? It would have been an AMAZING idea (: so a gave it 3 stars because it was a good idea (: 🙂🙂🙂 and I just did the free trial so maybe that’s why

Fantastic. I’m not brand new to crystals however I am brand new to collecting. My knowledge on different identifying marks and Crystal identification is very slim. My collection has grown tremendously, seeing that I didn’t really have one prior to this, and this app allows me to keep track of what I have and what they are. I am not even close to completion of adding my current collection to this app, but in my opinion this is a magnificent tool to have. Absolutely amazing! Thank you!

99% accurate. I love this app although it’s not 100% accurate, it identifies stones 99% of the time. A great tool to have especially when purchasing second hand jewelry with natural stones. This app has saved me a ton of money on my eBay purchases. I’ve ended up having to return a lot of imitation turquoise jewelry due to being made of HOWLITE which is made to look like turquoise. This app is a game changer and a must have!!

Really not sure…. ????. I just subscribed to this app and tried to ID 2 different rocks. The app gave me 2 different ID‘s for each stone. The app is fast, but for me it didn’t seem to work very well. I’m canceling my membership today. I was asked by the app if I wanted to update my review. I do. This seems to be a usable app. I tested it on several more stones and the app was correct. I did throw it a curve with a piece of impact material from a meteor strike. App got that one half right. One GREAT ASPECT Is the ID speed of ID’ing. App just not for me right now.

Works well. It worked to help me sort a bunch of tumbled stones. Unfortunately when I tried to check a new crystal I got it couldn’t make up its mind I tried fifteen times but seven told me it was Rhodonite (what I thought I bought) and the other eight times it told me it was Dyed Agate both look similar and I don’t know much on the subject so I’m kind of at a lose for what to do I’ll probably just continue to use it as Rhodonite and trust the seller. Over all the app worked well and I recommend it.

I use this a lot.. While this app doesn’t always get the identification correct it does a pretty good job. I like all the descriptive text that comes with each rock type and I especially like the fact that it lets me correctly identify samples when the solution is incorrect. While not perfect, it’s a great start and I enjoy being able to help improve this app through using it.

This is not as good as you think. You know I have a rock I know is slate, because the of the only metamorphic rocks making a sound like metal, so to test this app I snapped a shot of the rock, and it said it was a sedemntery (I don’t know how to spell it but is you know about rocks you probably get the jist) but anyway it said it was a sedemntrey rock called shale, which was not what that rock is since shale doesn’t make a metal sound, maybe it can identify better if you have premium, but I’m someone who doesn’t pay for things on devices if I don’t have to since I’m on my moms bank account, but still

Rock Hound. This app is super helpful! There are a lot of variables that go into identifying a rock but this app will definitely get you pointed in the right direction. If your having trouble make sure you clear lighting in your pictures! The app also lets you have the phone flashlight on your pictures which can be very helpful! (And help get some pretty sweet pictures of your rock) Rock on!

Premium subscription. I love the app, however I can’t afford the premium subscription right now. I cancelled it before the renewal date so it wouldn’t charge my card but it did so anyway, taking almost all of the money I had in my account at the moment. So it left me pretty much screwed. When I go to my subscriptions it is shown as active but when I click on it it says I’ve cancelled my subscription. I need a refund ASAP. I’m thoroughly confused as to how I can cancel the premium subscription.

Ms Stopp. I find that this app works well with crystals but has trouble identifying things like diamonds emeralds Rubys precious stones if it’s that color then it says it’s the stone wearing mini facts it’s a fake stone and it says it’s a real one I was trying to identify diamonds and I had a very hard time I had them set in rings so I wanted to see if they were real or fake and it said everyone was real but in fact they were half-and-half but I like it for my crystals so for the most part it’s a very good app thank you

Not correct result. I just wanna be honest that it got most of my stones’ result incorrect. I feel that programmer is doing an advanced AI look up. To match the picture with picture online. So it doesn’t really help that much because crystals could be made in different ways and look like the same. The only different thing is about their inside. So the only thing this app could do, is to help you find a similar crystal you could buy just for how beautiful it looks instead of any spiritual vibration or something.

Don’t waste your time!. I am a jeweler and wanted to see how accurate this app is, l tested a Diamond, the app said it was a diamond, then I tested a moissanite and a cubic zirconium, the app said both were diamonds, then I tested a Sapphire and a synthetic sapphire, both tested as Sapphire, l did the same with a Ruby and a synthetic Ruby both tested as Ruby. So it appears that this app only works on color and not on reflection . As for the determining the value of a stone there is no way this app is accurate because there are very high quality stones and very low quality stones so if this app works only on color it can’t differentiate differentiate between high quality and low quality.

So educational and fun!. I love your app. I got it because I know my rocks a bit but wanted to be sure I wasn’t giving my grand children wrong information on our hikes snd adventures. This app gives such complete and interesting information, much more than I thought it would be. The kids were excited to watch it scan and have become more enthralled with Petrology like I am. Thank you!

Great app. I really like using this app to identify my crystal collection. So far, it has been surprisingly accurate and has loads of interesting facts and information about each stone identified. It's definitely worth it to purchase. I have found myself using it more than I thought I would and I like that it keeps a record of my things for me.

Only accurate about 10% of the time!. This app is actually completely useless... HOWEVER, it gives me a starting point to find the correct name... which helps. (It's fine with things like "Agate", but the TYPE of agate isn't given or isn't correct.) I can take pics of the same stone, 3 or more times, and it'll give me 3 wrong answers! Like I said- it's only a starting point for anything except the very, very basics. Which is, in a way, minimally helpful.

Won’t see this app in the “Must Have” charts. Unfortunately won’t see this type of app trending anywhere like FB or Snapchat, which sadly says a lot about where people’s interest is these days, BUT, I just recently got this app and so far, love it! Very user friendly, all the info you need on whatever rock you scan right there, as long as you can take a good picture, this app rocks! 5/5 stars VERY IMPRESSED!

Not what I needed. Maybe this works well if you’ve purchased tumbled stones or mineral chunks. It’s not useful for identifying rocks dug up in the backyard,no matter how clean they are or how good the lighting is. Anything with stripes came back as tigers eye or gneiss, even when they are obviously neither. A LOT of things came back as quartz, some of which are quartz, but most of which don’t look anything like quartz. I realize a lot of random rock finds are conglomerates or other mixes that aren’t simple to ID, but I wish it would say that instead of returning a random, inaccurate answer.

0- everything. So far this app has falsely identified everything I gave it. The camera doesn’t even work actually, you press the button and nothing happens. So I had to take a photo and upload. So far 90% of the results are quarts or something similar. Even when given agate or petrified wood. So not sure if there is any actual ai at play or if they just launched the app without training any models, but results do not even show color in similarity. Maybe they are allowing people to tag any photo as any rock without validation dnd it’s destroyed their models but this app is not worth anything above free atm

Good for basic info. It’s a good app for a beginner like me. I would suggest having an option for the subscriber to add additional info with the photo to get more accurate results. Like the hardness scale of the rock in question. Or even which location it was found. Pictures are worth a thousand words, but if we could add a few more details, this app would be much better. Check out the Audubon app for bird identification for more ideas to update this rock app. Thanks!

Stone identifier. I really enjoy using this app because ive been a rock hound sense i was a lil guy.. this app is really quite impressive on its ability to identify stones and rocks with just a photo I highly recommend this to anyone who loves rocks, gems, stones,… etc. it gives you awesome information and background/history of the stone pictured, and the rocks out there are never ending.. sooo identify away!!🩶

GREAT APP… but a little inaccurate. I love this app and thought I should test the accuracy, so I bought a pack of labels rocks. Many of them looked like quartz, but weren’t. The app still identified them as quartz. The rocks looked a lot like quartz, like pumice, calcite, and halite. Most of the rocks were identified correctly. All in all, It’s a five star since my cheap camera is probably the reason😂. It’s a wonderful app. Like me, if your curiosity was getting the best of you… it’s a great app to satisfy that!

Great App, Constantly Improving. This is a simple, easy-to-use app that can be used to identify and catalog rocks and minerals. It’s being constantly updated and there also ways to connect with experts, other enthusiasts and have access to a large amount of helpful guides and information. The developers and staff are quick to answer questions and feedback given and are super friendly!

Love and Helpful. Recently I went to Colorado, and I bought quite a few rocks there. Not all of the shops labeled them so I didn’t exactly know each one. It helped me find out which rock is which and keep track of them. I found out more about my rocks (I use them mostly for healing) and basically everything I needed. I am so happy with the results 😁.

LIFE SAVER 🥹🫶🏼. I LOVE this app so much. You can take a picture of any crystal you have and so far all of mine have been correctly identified. It takes seconds. Then.. on top of that, you can save a picture of what looks like an identification card of the crystal and it literally puts your crystal as the picture with a basic background. It like photoshops your background out and makes it look so nice. ITS THE BEST 😍

If you are a baby witch, keep reading. I would definitely recommend this app to all those baby witches out there who can’t keep up with the info. This is a great app for identifying which crystals are witch, and you don’t have to pay for anything. It also lets you know if its a healing stone or if its rare or easy to find. 10/10, helped me as a crystal collector. Blessed be.

Love this, except for one thing:. I absolutely enjoy a Rock Identifier. It does the job for me nearly every time. But sometimes when I get an answer that I’m not sure if I turn the rock over, take another picture of it and get another answer. When I turn it over again I may find the same answer as before. I just need to do a little more research on that rock. Don’t get me wrong. This is a great app except for that one thing.

Rock and roll!. I will give this app a 4 star. And why, well this app can be right but it can also be wrong to. Like for starters don’t just thing that it can identify any rock. Like it can identify rock and that’s cool. But one time I was seeing if it could identify petrified wood. And guess what it gave me the WRONG result it said it was jasper. So it works but it doesn’t work that good. But this rock identify app is better than all the other ones I’ve seen so get the app and see what rocks you can find. 🪨

So many corrections. I want to love this app. I’m more of a spiritual crystal collector than a geologist-type. But when I saw that the description of each stone had the spiritual meaning I thought I found the perfect app. However, I am constantly correcting a stone name or inserting the actual name as the app can’t find the stone I scanned. It seems it is picky with lighting. No matter what angle or light I use it never seems to be good enough. I wouldn’t recommend this app for the spiritual crystal collector. But if you love rocks and stones in general it’s probably amazing

Hit or Miss. It gets my stones right sometimes. Quartz is pretty hard to get wrong, so it always gets that. There’s been quite a few I have had to take multiple pictures of at different angles and it’s still gotten them wrong. Some that I absolutely know what are and have gone to enter, but the name hasn’t popped up within the app. The app has potential though! Especially for tumbled stones! Not so much for raw stones found in nature, which is what I was hoping to use it for.

Do not download it’ll charge you $30. Misleading extortion. Nowhere in the description is this app called “rock identifier premium” it never mentions a yearly subscription for “rock identifier” but after you download the app it is more or less unusable until you upgrade to “premium” and after the 7 day trail it is automatically upgraded and you are charged. The only way to not be charged is to cancel the subscription through iTunes, which no longer exists, and the app does not show up in the subscription page on my app story profile. What a misleading way to extort money from people who want to identify rocks.

Good for crystals, not great for rocks. I’m a geologist and I was recently going through my collection and identifying each rock and mineral. This app successfully identified my polished rocks and minerals (crystals) like quartzes, tigers eye, etc that i got from crystal shops, but was not very useful with uncut rocks. i took several pictures of an unidentified metamorphic rock with foliation and the app identified each picture as a different rock. It’s a great jumping off point to find rocks similar to the one i photographed, but it was not very accurate. I would recommend this to people who collect crystals from shops, but not for geologists doing identifications on rock specimens in the field.

Excellent ID App. I have tried several rock/mineral/crystal identification apps using certain specimens that I have 100% ID’d. This app got it right almost every time. Only once was the specimen incorrectly identified. That was a Blue Apatite mistaken for something else. It correctly ID’d a Himalayan Quartz cluster, a Citrine Point that could have easily been mistaken for a Smokey Quartz, and a Smokey Quartz that could have been mistaken for a Citrine Point.

Having fun. I just found the magnet in the app! And I really enjoy the information I get as well. I grab my phone and take pictures every time a friends asks me what type of stone this or that is. But we need to come up with a camera that takes pictures that completely capture the stone so it would be easier to be positive of what it is.

The rocks are gold I am showing. So since you are an expert I’m looking for buyers for high quality gold or from a placer that was never discovered. Yet you app doesn’t ask about hardness. I can mold gold almost in my hand. Add a question about hardness and scratch yes before make me loose my mind. I threw out at least a million dollars worth of gold before I started using the scratch and streak test because you app doesn’t recognize placer gold. Like are you working for the government or something because your app seems more like subterfuge than any thing.

What a wonderful find. I don’t have to take guesses as to what my rock is anymore. I can snap a pic! I love being able to create a collection online because eventually I’d like to make signs for them, but I don’t have the willpower to jot them down. This makes it nice and easy! (I do wish there was a way to clear rock history and collections. I messed mine up and have to go through each individually now.)

Great App!. This is a good app. It’s good at identifying obvious looking gemstones, but if you have a less represented stone, or if you just found a rock on the ground, it will give you the wrong answer a lot. Like I had rainforest jasper and it kept telling me a lot of wrong answers such as obsidian and malachite, though I assure you it looks nothing like them. This app is great for identifying stones otherwise, but if the developers could get a little more accuracy into the identification of them, this app would be 5 stars.

Kim S. I have tried quite a few rock/crystal identification apps and this is hands down the best one I’ve come across! I’ve found if the lighting is off or the angle of the picture isn’t just right, it can wrongly identify the polished rocks/crystals. This is why I gave 4 not 5 stars. Also the flashlight option is a bit temperamental. However in my opinion, if you know the stones well, you can change the identification which I LOVE!!!

This app rocks. This is the best thing I have ever purchased for my grandson! On any outing I am the star while all the kids run finding rocks trying to outdo each other and something new and bringing them back to me so I can tell them about that rock they just found. It has been so much fun. The only downside. Is to be someplace awesome but out of range for a Wi-Fi connection.

Very good identification app!. This app is a very good way to identify rocks and minerals. I collect them and don’t know what most of them are. I already took two pictures of two of my crystals and got the correct results. The app also gives you information about your minerals. It also tells you if it’s a precious or semi-precious stone. Good app overall the 7 day trial is annoying, though. Very good results and app!

Great app!!. I use this app all the time & love it! Sometimes the ID isn’t correct, but I like the way it gives different choices sometimes. Sometimes if I don’t think it’s the correct name, & I don’t save it, it still saved in my collection anyway. Also, I’m definitely NOT tech savvy! Maybe I just don’t know how to use it correctly!? I’m still learning .. 💙I do LOVE this app!!!!
