FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS Comments & Reviews 2026
What a Game. 0/10 trash tier. I cannot believe they cut out the most amazing bits about Wall Street! No gym squatting, no Honey Bee, no annoying that Materia Shopkeeper, all gone! Jokes aside, the story is heavily abridged which is okay I guess but newcomers would miss out all those side fun stuff. I wish they had it in the game but make it available at the side. Let the people decide whether or not they want to see it. Then again this is probably a tactic like: you want to know more, play the main game. I’ve read other reviews with people saying the combat is watered down or bad. This is how the original game was with some additions to the system. I like how fully customizable you can get just like old FFVII. I can turn characters into Magic, Physical, or Support types; while there are some limitations per character, it’s there. Transmog is already in the game too. Devs know players, like me, love that Buster Sword. I hope they add my favorite female character Cissnei from Crisis Core. Cheers FFVII fans for more fun to be had.
Had great potential but fails. I wanted to like this game so badly. The story lines are great though slowly starting which you will run out of things to do very quick. The thing that will hold everyone back is the equipment/draw system which will bleed your enthusiasm immediately. If you don’t spend money you will hardly progress at all which makes the game very boring and repetitive. There’s very few ways to get free equipment/weapons in this game and generally are not very good which come from events or summon fights which is a total grind fest. If you have a fair amount of disposable income to spend this may be for you but if you can not spend like the whales do, don’t bother downloading or playing. And I’ve been a fan of this franchise for 25 years which is depressing.
FF7EC Review and needs.. The game is good the problem is that I have bought the season pass for two season and still have not gotten my wallpaper or gear exchange. I got cheated twice. You promised those two items upon purchase and I have not received them. So I won’t be duped into buying that crap again until the problem is fixed. Plus no matter how much I grind the game is slow moving, and I can’t fight bosses past 60,000 power. And I’m over 97,000 power. I should have no issues. More and more this game is becoming unfun. Unless you have a lot of money, you’re going no where with this game.
Love the game but I hope they make certain changes. I’m a huge ff7 fan so im loving the game, I love the story and what there doing with it. The fighting system is cool, they don’t make it where you can rush leveling. This is a big grinding game as it’s a gacha game so be prepared to farm farm farm, But I would love if they change some stupid things. Im not that happy with the materia system. They need to make a way that we can change the sub stats because when you create a 4 star material and get crappy sub stats then the materia is garbage. They need give more materials when doing the enhancement quest, it cost alot of stamina for little material. There’s so much farming in the game that requires alot of stamina. I would like if they made the quests less stamina. Other then that, I love it.
Cash Grab crap. What can I say I’m sick of all these gotchya games. Just makes a real game. It’s clear this game was meant to make you spend money to get gear. Sure all these games start out fun enough but I’ve played enough of them to know that I always end up stuck or grinding with far too little progress unless I’m willing to make in game purchases. It’s downright predatory. Shame on Square Enix for supporting this kind of crap. It doesn’t matter how good the graphics are it’s just like the rest of the gatchya games out there. I for one have no desire to relive the past games over and over again without anything substantially new. All I can say is I had high hopes only to discover this was just a cash grab game used to make money while providing little to no real game play. I couldn’t even play past the first few missions without getting bored. Don’t bother downloading this game. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.
Bait & Switch for Paid Users and Poor Customer Support. First of all, I’m a paying player who has made several purchases. Regretfully, I’m giving the game a 1-star rating due to a bad experience I had with purchasing the Boost Pass and Soldier Pass within their app. These passes were supposed to give certain rewards, but they didn't deliver as advertised. When I reached out to customer support to discuss this issue, I received a generic response that acknowledged there might be a problem. However, they didn't address my specific concerns or offer a refund, even though the passes weren’t working as they should. The refusal to provide a refund, even with a recognition that it wasn’t working as advertised, felt like the big publisher, Square, is scamming average users. This experience showed me that the customer support lacks the willingness to provide clear answers and make things right when they admit that there's a problem. The situation has left me feeling disappointed with both the product and the customer support. I would advise potential buyers to be cautious as the product may not deliver as promised, and getting help from customer support may be a challenge once they have your money.
A New Twist on an Old Classic. This New Twist on an Old Classic, brings a breath of fresh air to the Final Fantasy Mobile Games Lineup. From the familiar stories and cast to the new ways to play. This game will have you building a team of your favorite FFVII to play through story content or farm raids, events and dungeons. Much like other Hero Collection games from Square. You can summon (Draw) new versions and skins of the memorable cast to level and upgrade, and take into battle. You can pick from the systems Auto Assigned party or Tailor your party to what you like and best fits the situation. Updated traffics and cut scenes from the FFVII remake blend well to give you a look into the story of the world as well as new stories and some not so known. But most of all we can now have a party with Zack Aerith and Cloud! As a Free to Play gamer there is plenty of opportunity to earn Blue Gems Shards that are used to summon (Draw) heros and weapon upgrades through completeing content, daily quests and missions and joining randome raid parties. So jump in and see what The World of Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis has to offer.
This is what the FFVII universe should be.. OK, so let's get this out-of-the-way real quick. The mechanics are just weird, even for a gacha game. Unnecessarily grindy, no manual targeting , and no autopilot between missions. Gotta get those fixed to keep the troops happy. The gacha isn't exactly the most forgiving thing, as you need to make a bunch of pulls to even come close to getting new outfits for your characters. But for all its faults, this game is exactly what the FF VII universe would have looked like if we had the proper technology at the time to experience the full story. So, even if this game fails as so many others have in recent years, and it will, the best thing to do would be to make this a complete game that folks can pay for. It's already been tried: Collection of SaGa, the FFX box set, and maybe a few others I can't think of at the moment. it boils down to that if you don't have the time or the money to invest in the 3-D remake pieces, this could well be your best shot at experiencing a classic RPG that is as relatable today as it was more than 25 years ago. The issues it addresses are still big even here in the 2020s. But most importantly, there's enough material in here to replace the buggy original still being sold on mobile. Call it FF7 2D Remaster. If you enjoy playing with your favorite characters, any way you want, please support this game and make it happen.
great game !! worried about service duration though. this game is awesome! ff7 mobile games have always been very fun and well made in my opinion. I enjoy the battles, they provide a good challenge and the game isn’t solely P2W; you can definitely get through it as a F2P player. it does require copious amounts of grinding, but that’s a given for a game like this. I don’t have anything bad to say about the gameplay as of now, and the game is still new, so things will change. there’s only one thing i’m concerned about- I played the first soldier and saw how quickly its service was removed, and I do worry that the same thing will happen to EC. thinking positively, I really look forward to before crisis becoming localized!
This is the truth. Loyal to ff7 remake and crisis core, in terms of most dialogue and cutscenes. Beautiful graphics. The gauge filling up battle system is great. The game is new, so I understand SOME of the lack of content. I need to know where this game is going to go, and if they don’t do it right then I will feel like I wasted what money I did spend on this. We need new characters, more fleshed out stories on all FF7s, and if they don’t make kid sephiroth playable they are FOLDING. The weapons are cool, but the aggressive selling of “limited time packs” it forces early on makes you wonder if the game is trying to hurt you. After the stories it’s hard to find stuff to do, we need that replay value up. More characters, more weapons, more costumes. Costumes have to be the coolest thing but consider adding good bonuses to all of them so I don’t have to choose between looking good and better gear.
Great game for a gacha one. It’s a great game despite it being a gacha one. Not toooo crazy of a grind to get through the game and if you just wanna skip all that well good news because the game loves reminding you all the time that you can, simply “buy” using your credit card. 😂 ***TO THE DEVS*** I think something extremely simple that would really help the game earn more revenue is giving the option to buy music tracks that you can set to play as the main screen background music. As someone who never pays a cent in gacha games (or any games really), I would definitely buy a track to replace the main screen music because it gets tiresome after playing the game so much lol sometimes I end up just playing on mute.
Looks good but…. Too many updates. The app is updating a least every other day. Sometimes I even get kicked out of the game so it can update. Right now, while I’m writing this review, I’m supposed to be updating the game. Unfortunately, the update is broken so I can’t even download it, so the game can’t be played. So far I played enough of the original 7 so that Cloud meets Aerith, but now I’m forced to play Crisis Core, I’m locked out of VII. I won’t be able to get back to it until I play more if Crisis Core, and then I AM FORCED TO PLAY FIRST SOLDIER. Also, I’m not far into CC and it’s very obvious I’m going to be forced to start shelling out Gil, I mean dollars to get much further. Free to play is dead. Two starts solely for the nostalgia and a good “alternate remake”
Very Disappointing. As a long time FF7 fan, I waited with great anticipation for this game. I was super excited straight from the announcement. I was a little peeved that it was a gatcha game at first but I still continued to play and enjoy it but as time went by, more and more issues arose. It’s nearly impossible to get 5 star materia infact it’s ridiculously rare, the draws are predatory, and it also became very clear that only certain characters got weapons and outfits, while others were either constantly neglected (like Barret and Red XII) but even with the characters that did receive gear, some got way better designs. Characters like Aerith and Zack got way better designs than any of the other characters. Cloud, Tifa and others got low quality lazy designs. Aerith got two princess dresses and more pulls than almost any other character, and the duel heroine that she shares equal importance with, Tifa was given a raggedy top for her first outfit, with holes in her top. Then was completely neglected for a Nibelheim themed event, in favor for Aerith who had no ties to that location as wasn’t even in the story event. It shows a fundamental disregard for the story and characters and as a fan of both, I don’t appreciate it. Therefore I will be deleting this app and no longer spending any money on it.
Massive potential massive lack of content.. Let me start by saying the game is pretty amazing. It’s 3 stories from 3 different FF7 games. You have the stories of FF7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, and FF7 Forest soldier. It’s loyal to the stories and even uses the cutscenes directly from the games. The combat is ATB based similar to FF13 with a gatcha element for gear. The biggest issue with the game though is the lack of content. Because they want this game to tie into FF7 Remake there is a hard cutoff for that story pretty early on and we won’t get more till Rebirth comes out. Crisis Core you only have the very first mission of the game, and First Soldier well there wasn’t a huge story for that to begin with because it was a battle royal game. Combine that with only 9 playable characters and none are villains the game fells hallow after a few hours.
Big fan but why not able to farm. Look been a final fantasy fan since I was a child and still as a adult. This game brings back memories from my childhood and I love it. Yet, I’m a bit disappointed with some of the game features such as dungeons not being farmable to build all your weapons. I like to complete everything and it seem like we are limited to the to overall growth of my characters in the game. I’m unsure if things will change later with updates maybe will change my review if this change. Also I understand a pay wall on ever game now but something’s that are behind the pay wall should be farmable for f2p players.
I love this game!❤️🔥. I’ve been a big fan of FF7!! I played the original game and I have to tell you, this game makes me love FF7 more!!! It brought back the exciting passion I had for this game when I was a kid! You have to download this game, it comes with three stories and they give you options to respond!!! The fighting is similar to turn based!! The menu is everything! It reminds me of CCFF7 when you select mission. Not to mention the ultra quality and they may seem like the blocks from the og game but they have noticeable gestures and movements!!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥You can also find chests but when you draw for the gachas theres a fight scene with Cloud, Oh my god I fell in love!! This game is Amazing! I can’t wait to unlock Sephiroth’s tale!!! ❤️🔥
PvP will glitch your game.. I was honestly in love with this game and I was playing non stop and finally feeling confident in my team being g a paying player. Tonight though I was playing pvp when the game glitched with no option to leave the lobby. Myself and 2 others were stuck in the lobby. Even resetting the ap didn’t work so I went online to see the advice was to reinstall but of course it wasn’t clear that you had to link your account so I lost my save data and I’m devastated. If I could get a refund on the money I spent I’m willing to play again and change my review but this set me back emotionally and financially. Please let me in ow if you can at least see the investment I made into your game that ultimately had an error.
Not What I Was Expecting. While FFVII has always been my favorite game, I was expecting a frame-to-frame remake of the original from this title. Instead this is just an extremely abbreviated version highlighting only bits and pieces of the story across multiple titles. While graphically impressive, substance is lacking in the combat and there is virtually no exploration whatsoever. The item and menu system technicalities are extremely convoluted and confusing as well. Most chapters have dialogue-only scenes, while others chapters consist of a short and single linear path with regular battles occurring while en route to a boss fight. Being a longtime FFVII fan, this was a disappointing title. I was unfortunately misunderstood that this was going to be a top to bottom, frame by frame remake of the original.
Ever Crisis is amazing. This game has lot to offer in terms of gameplay and lots of engagement with each party members “skill tree”, summons, etc. The game has stories from original 7, crisis core, and a new story “The First Soldier” featuring a new team. While going through the game upgrading characters, weapons, chocobos, and materia you are rewarded nicely with items to help your account grow and become stronger to take on more challenging events. Music is phenomenal btw. I can’t wait for Vincent, and a Advent Children collab with this game. If you like FF7 story this is definitely your game to play. Highly recommmend.
Great game, held back by greed. The game itself is actually quite impressive and enjoyable. I have no bad things to really say about the core game itself. The problem isn’t even the business model, it’s how aggressive it is. The perfect demonstration is displayed the moment you log in. The moment you log in you literally cannot get to the Main Menu without having to close DOZENS of login bonuses and ads for their premium engagement. When it takes me longer to close all their ads than it does to actually load the game, it’s remarkably irritating. Mobile games are typically designed to be played in short sessions. When that session is 90% taken up by, “SPEND MONEY!!!” it makes me never want to even open the game.
Its alright. I don’t usually play mobile games or “gacha” games whatever that means so that probably colors my review a bit. I find myself playing every few days or so when I have some time to kill and it seems like every time I login, I need to either update the app before playing or I need to download content. In either case by the time the game is ready to played I don’t have much time to play it. All the pop ups and rewards, special unlocks, purchases- they are quite annoying, perhaps the gacha part. I just want to play through the story. Which by the way, it feels like while they seem to be hitting the big story beats they are dragging out inconsequential moments that are good for short 3-5 minute battles or missions. For what it’s worth the graphics are awesome in the battles- the levels and characters are pretty closely recreated to original- just wish there was more level exploration rather than so many “fight this guy”. The battles are significantly dumbed down for original so they arn’t quite as fun. Overall 3/5, will continue to play but not an ideal way to catch up on the games FF7 story IMO
FF7: Ever Crashes. I love FF7, this game, and have spent a good amount of time on it. While I love you can play the various stories this game offers, my overall issue that I have dealt with since launch is the constant crashing. I’m using an iPad 9th generation and I’ve lowered the graphic settings thinking that would help and some cases it did, but would still occasionally crash. Now with the latest update, I cannot progress from the first battle in Chapter 7 after beating the Turks. I love this game but I don’t know if it is just me, but the constant crashing and now preventing me from progressing is a little bit frustrating. Update: Was able to progress after the Turks battle, but the app would occasionally crash. Annoying, but game is still playable and still enjoyable.
Yesterday was my last day. I’ve been a FFVII super fan since I was a kid. I’ve waited for remake for years. And when I heard that there would be a mobile version of a number of games that would be a fun take, I waited eagerly. What I got was a gacha game with endless grindy events you play over and over and over and over for weeks for some little irrelevant side story. Honestly the game is simple. I haven’t had to buy anything. The devs have showered premium currency and so many stamina bottles I don’t think it’s possible to run out. But the game is NOT fun. The materia system is stupid. The equipment and power system is bad. They entice you to spend by putting in outfits and weapons and photos and reward progress but that’s NOT what Final Fantasy VII ever was and as a fan I’m insulted that’s what this game turned out to be. I’m so disappointed. I hope someone has fun with the game. But I’m not. So I’m done. I’ll get Rebirth when it comes out. Or play the classic on steam. But this isn’t it.
Great game with room for improvement - should expand to other games in the series!!. This is a great way to experience the story of FF7 and its companion games. I don’t mind spending on bonuses packs but the value of boosters is just plain terrible - they last only 1 week and hardly give you an upper hand. Things I’d like to see - Streamline crafting! It’s a little complicated. Too many flashy menus. It feels bad to upgrade in between battles as it requires too many screens that have flashy effects. Improve the value of your p2w items and I’d give this 5 stars. Make in game friends matter through alliances it just something to make it worth my while to accept all the requests. And at the end of the day…Rebrand and expand Ever Crisis to other games in the series once the FF7 story content is exhausted and y’all have fixed the issues. Also figure out how to port this to consoles one day.
Nostalgia Bait. This game has the graphics and music that I wanted on an updated FF7 experience. Not the full remake, but something close to what I experienced when I was a kid. They’ve more or less done that here, all with the intention of using it to ram as much gacha garbage down my throat as possible. The “gameplay” exists as tiny little excerpts between menu navigation, where you’re assaulted with pop-up notifications declaring time-limited store items and countless other opportunities to spend money. Parts of the game have been ripped out in favor of rushing you back to the menus. You don’t loot items organically from gameplay, anymore. You get them from loot boxes in the menu. You don’t build a party in game. You unlock party slots and characters and you assemble your team in the main menu. You don’t have to play the game. You can turn on auto-battle. You can fast forward. Original cutscenes are gone, making each gameplay segment that much shorter so that you can race back to the store. Ugly, ugly greed on full, proud display.
This game brings back memories. I played final fantasy vii back when it was released on the ps1, and it was one of my favorite games at the time. This game has the same feel as the original with a bit of a modern touch to it. One small issue that I have with the game though are small moments during gameplay where the game will start to lag. Not only does that slow down game, but it also breaks the audio too. Anytime the game lags, the audio either breaks up or stops completely. When it stops, I have to press home then go back to the app. Sometimes this fixes it, but most time it doesn’t. These new models in game look really nice, but as an optimization suggestion, maybe consider adding an option to swap out the game assets for the classic PlayStation 1 ffvii assets. Having less polygons on the characters and a smooth environment that doesn’t require much 3d rendering could probably enhance performance for lower end iPhones. (Also, I miss the classic look as well.🙃)
Perfection. One complaint i have is when you enhance materia it only shows if the materia is equipped or not it doesn’t say who it is equipped to. I have multiple load outs with the same type of materia on different characters but you can’t see which character is actively holding the materia unless you jump into edit party so I’ve been having to switch back n forth just to see which character is actively holding the materia I’m enhancing. There’s gotta be a more streamlined way like how about instead of an ‘E’ icon above the materia when we are enhancing like a little character icon or something better to see who is actively holding the materia you are enhancing. Unless I’m just not seeing something I should see that’s my one complaint so far with the game and I finished both ff7 and crisis core stories and well on my way through the first soldier story so I think I gotta pretty good grasp on what I’m doing. Game is near perfection if not perfect but if I were to complain that’s the only issue with me.
Disappointing, but understandable…. I was hoping for at least the entire storyline of the original favorite, but none of the three are completed. In fact, all three are barely started into the secrets of the three storyline. Slightly disappointed in the way materia and summoning is also handled; haphazardly redone from the original to only go up in level with materials that must be either hunted down or purchased with nothing about experience of use. Of course this could have been incredibly complicated if it was done the old way since there are also tons of various weapons each character can use and they changed that as well, having the weapons playing as two “main” weapons, one ahead of the other, as well as two “sub” weapons that could be anyone’s. There are also outfits to be won or purchased. All of this is confusing and takes away from the stories. On top of all of that, the stories have been broken up into parts. There is very little in the way of exploration. I don’t expect to be able to go into Cloud’s world and travel all over the place as I did the first time at all. While all of this is highly disappointing, for what it is, it is also understandable given what they were trying to do. And I will still play it. At least until they finish it.
Way Too Much Content All At Once. As disappointing as it is to say, this game has become overwhelming and I am burnt out by the current pace of content. I'm a day one player who has purchased gems from the shop on a few occasions and has thoroughly enjoyed playing up until the one year anniversary. The back to back overlapping events have become nearly impossible for me to keep up with, at one point having as many as 6 separate limited time events available to play at once on top of new story additions, new characters, and back to back to back limited time banners. I still have yet to play the newest story chapter because of having to spend my time keeping up with events, and after this most recent app update the stamp card for completing the chapter is gone. As much as I have enjoyed playing this game, I simply don't have the time to complete all of the content that the game is pushing and would rather uninstall than leave these events incomplete before they end. Please consider slowing down before even more of your player base gets burnt out the way that I have.
Skill is Less Important than Cash. When this game works, it’s among the best Gacha games I’ve played. Not as open and authentic a gameplay experience as something like Genshin, but absolutely the kind of game that has clear care and craft put into it. However, it has the same problem as a game like the recent NBA 2K24: it’s not about how much you play, or how well you play. It’s about how much you spend. I’ve built a little team of people topping 95,000 power (all floating near level 46-47). They have gear above their level, they’ve got nice shirts (except Zack—no shirt for Zack). But, sometimes I’ll go into a battle with a boss that’s power level 55,000 and get absolutely crushed. Doesn’t matter which settings I use (manual, auto) and it doesn’t matter how attentive I am. The boss will wind up an attack that does 8,000 HP of damage on one turn and leave me with no hope. The goal seems to be: frustrate the player into spending money and making their character EVEN stronger—but since I don’t understand the metrics for “strong” and they’re applied unevenly (I’ve won a couple of 65-70k power battles with an S rank) it’s just not worth the money to guess and hope. Again, when this works, it’s a real love letter to the franchise. I almost want to see something like this for other entries in the series. But, I’m also always one day away from uninstalling, because the pay-to-win underpinnings feel so antithetical to what I love about Final Fantasy and JRPGs in general.
A Great rendition on classic titles!!. I pre-ordered or whatever you call on it on here and I was not disappointed, as a long time Final Fantasy fan this couldn’t be any more fun the abridge work on the the titles is well done and gets the story across well! The cutscene cinematics are just insane!🙌🏻 Was concerned with what the gacha elements were gonna be like but they are very tasteful and very fruitful and isn’t designed to only reap rewards only to those who drop a bunch of money and the whole system isn’t over bearing! The UI is fantastic very simple to understand and use! Overall they knocked it out of the park and is a fantastic experience for long time fans and first timers!❤️🙌🏻
A mixed bag. This was a lot more disappointing than expected. The main games are watered down abridged versions with a new coat of paint. The new visuals look great including the new chibi models which animate beautifully and actually mirror the cosmetics you unlock. The arranged versions of old music is nice but the way the story is presented is very jarring. Scenes just end with no smooth transition. Combat is very simple and but good enough for mobile. It seems to open up much later. I HATE the UI. Atrocious presentation with menus under more menus. The navigation is abysmal. It just looks like a cluttered mess. There’s also way too much loading for certain repeat cutscenes just for the gacha pulls. It doesn’t even feel satisfying when you Draw. Moving from screen to screen is not seamless or intuitive. Why? When games like Genshin Impact and Honkai exist, how is this still possible? There’s also a lot of technical issues with the app that other reviews have mentioned. Because of this, I won’t even spend a single dime on this game. Not worth the risk. This is going to be a pure F2P for me. The main draw for me to keep playing are the cosmetics. They’re fun to collect.
Good Game But Too Many Features and Grind If No Money. Graphics and animations look great, even on old iPad. Battle system is too much in hurry with no wait time, react in couple secs and switch to next character to command best moves. Stuck at chapter 4-1 without next part available, either bug or intentionally force u to play a few hours everyday. In fact many free bonuses need u come back often. Customization of weapons and characters is best thing in game, but too many areas of features requiring u keep to track of what r best choices and when and what, so makes progress too confusing and some missions just not beatable without being really strong. Overall this kind of mobile RPG game forces u to either pay money to buy many packs to ease playing or spend so many hours grinding and checking, which I don’t have. I rather pay one time cost like 20 for completed mobile game.
Well worth the wait. I played the original VII on PlayStation and loved how long it took to get through the game. Endless hours of grinding exp, materia, limit breaks, getting all the characters, the side stories, all of it. Truly something to get for the “long game.” This is, save some rather disappointing cutscenes that are comparatively less impressive than the PlayStation of old, byte for byte an impressive, well thought out, and worthwhile game for every FF enthusiast. The feel of VII’s clunky yet adored polygon characters has been maintained with modern updates, and the turn-based combat is still there, just with a twist. There is literally nothing to complain about.
Fun game but longevity is questionable. Gameplay is fun. However the whole game being a gatcha (they even reward gatcha tickets) expect the standard gameplay loops. Battle passes. Paid boosts to earn more quicker, multiple daily check ins, and generous freebies but currently doesn’t feel like they are releasing things with a roadmap in mind but quarter by quarter. There’s a lot of story to tell, characters to release, and materia to gain but after twenty years will they be able to drip feed the same stories and keep us engaged for the type of gatcha model this is built around? Time will tell. Right now the pacing is right about 2-3 years. Compensation both in how they distribute and how the decide to offer it is wildly varied. Sometimes they will lock you out of your account all weekend with a one sentence apology. The other side is you will spend $300 on a typo banner and get all your crystals back for double pulls. Isn’t very equitable. This and the way competitive events are modeled, I can’t give this five stars no matter how much fun and nostalgia this gives.
NICE CONCEPT, BUT A GRINDING NIGHTMARE. I loved the idea at first. All of the Final Fantasy VII universe meeting in one place. I’ve played since day 1. It started out fun because there were storylines to the events, but now it is just becoming a time devouring grinding nightmare. The current FFIX crossover event doesn’t really offer much of a storyline at all. Just grind grind grind eat all your time. Haha! I would suggest adding an idle-collecting method to run along events for those who want to get special items but don’t have the time to grind for hours. I’m afraid if there isn’t any other types of things to do, like maybe an arena or Chocobo racing, this game is going to get old fast. I’m almost ready to stop playing. Not necessarily a pay-to-play, but draws usually end before you get enough crystals to get enough stamps to get special items like costumes. So I would suggest only getting free draws and holding onto your crystals until you see a costume you really really like.
Want to love it - TLDR; Stop making FF a mobile experience. Honestly this would be 4 or even 5 if this wasn’t a mobile game. I wish square would just stop trying to make mobile happen. I get that there are gacha weirdos that need to hear things go bling bling so they can get their casino experience fix, but it is such a turn off. It’s genuinely difficult for me to invest myself into this game. I have to remind myself it’s even on my phone, and I’ve personally played every mainline title, spin-off, and even loose cross over spin offs. I love Final Fantasy. I was raised on it. But man - just port this thing to the switch. Even if you have to use gacha mechanics, just having this on a console would allow people like me to enjoy it so much more. Final Fantasy deserves more than being iPhone toilet-time games.
Literal phone saver.. Last night when I got home, my wife was starting a load of laundry and offered to get the clothes I was wearing. I always take a shower after work so I thought why not. I took my keys, wallet, and ear buds out of my pockets before stripping down and handing her the clothes. After my shower I reached for my phone to check a work email. It wasn’t on the bathroom counter? That’s strange. I specifically remember not taking it out of my pants pocket so I could have it in the bathroom for after my shower. Oh no. Panic. My wife tried apologizing because she usually checks the pockets of everything a second time before putting it in the washer. “Why are you sorry?” I asked. “You watched me take stuff out of my pockets. Obviously you thought I got everything. I’m the one who left it in there.” So now I’m digging, arms deep in water, through wet clothes trying to find a likely exploded iPhone. My fingers make contact. I pull it out, dry it off, and turn it off for a few minutes. She calls the Apple Store. They tell me that likely it’ll turn back on, but to charge it so it’ll heat up and evaporate any residual water. I immediately know what to do. I launch Ever Crisis, put the settings to Ultra, and play for an hour. The phone got so hot, I could have cooked an egg on it. 5/5 For saving my phone. Bonus points for Final Fantasy 7 nostalgia. 10/10 would do again.
honest review from playing since release:. pros: •the graphics and gameplay are smooth and beautiful. i haven’t had any problems with crashing or lags. •there’s a new story to follow along, but i’m really enjoying the summer event. the costumes are so cute and i love that you can change skins. i hope upcoming events will be just as interesting. •i don’t usually like gatcha games, but i haven’t spent any money and i’m still being able to progress and enjoy the game cons: •so much grinding. instead of 3x the rewards, there should just be an auto complete once you’ve finished a quest. •the storylines feel almost exact as it’s remake versions. i’m also wondering how the game will progress once you finish the storylines from the main game. it would be nice if it diverted from the originals and the remakes, just to keep it interesting. •also, i’m not sure why there’s dialogue options… it doesn’t feel like it really matters in the storylines. but it would be fun if it did matter. in the middle: while it gets confusing because there’s A LOT going on, the taskbar on the home screen helps you keep in track with what to do next.
Non stop crashing, no matter what. I have no doubt that I would enjoy enough elements of this game to get past the GACHA format; if I could actually play it. The game crashes so often and takes so long to load that it literally makes the experience insufferable and I can’t even get past the portion that extends the game. I’ve deleted the game and redownloaded it twice already and haven’t experienced any notable improvement. I’ve cleared space on the device I play it on (iPad) and limited use of the device to this game and audiobooks; I also make sure nothing runs in the background. It’s so deflating I’ve given up on the game and don’t even try anymore, this being before I’ve gotten to experience the new elements of the story. I think it unacceptable the game was several months late, had an anticipated high download expectancy, and yet still has the amount of issues it does. Such a shame for what could’ve been a good project.
FINAL FANTASY 7 EVER CRISIS. I’m a huge die hard fan of final fantasy 7 and this is one of the best final fantasy 7 games and is my first ever time playing final fantasy 7 ever crisis and I was so hyped for this game during square Enix announcement and finally playing the full release version of final fantasy 7 ever crisis and this game is a 15/10 for me and I’m enjoying the story, characters, music and the entire game and I’m having a blast and a super fun time with final fantasy 7 ever crisis and it’s now one of my favorite games this year 2023 and I hope final fantasy 7 ever crisis gets a console release someday from square Enix and I’ll definitely buy when it ever come to ps5,ps4,and Nintendo Switch and this game is a must play super recommended 👍😊
Good, but issues. I am a regular gacha player, and have put hours into several Square Enix based Gachas. Ever Crisis is fun, but there are a few glaring issues. At my current place in story mode, it’s detrimental to manually play. The AI is so advanced, and plays perfectly, that you’re punished for not using auto play. For example, I came across a quest that was recommended 3,300 power, and I was at 5,000. I couldn’t beat it. I put it on auto mode, and it cleared the quest easily. The interface is a pain. You can’t collect quest rewards from the mission tab. You “collect them” and they’re sent to your mailbox, where you actually collect them. It’s similar to FFBE WoTV, and I always felt it was an unnecessary step. My final complaint comes from the monetization. So far, I haven’t felt the need to spend money. The issue is how often you’re bothered with buying something. There is a gold highlight tab on certain menus, to let you know if there is a quest complete, or you have new items. To get the gold highlight to go away, you click on it, and it’s gone. On the MTX menus, you can’t make the gold highlight go away. It stays there flashing, trying to entice you to spend. That’s the only reason I can think of, that the gold highlight doesn’t go away. Square, you’re better than that juvenile predatory stuff. I’m willing to give this game a few weeks/updates, but it’s not really exciting me. I know others are loving it, but I’m not hooked.
Could be improved. It is a good game over all, if you have played into the game a bit you will feel that way too. It’s has some complicated features and is very limiting on resources which can be a pain. Currently my main team is lingering around 90k power and some of the max missions are 198kish and I just don’t see it. Where do you get the power and why are you not making it more obtainable. Gacha games don’t need to punish you into spending to get stronger they can do fine making you grind for hours to get there. Biggest problem I see is that stops after day one. It is either spend or your stuck. I can beat all the dailies in less then 10 minutes there is nothing else keeping me on the game because I can’t do anything unless I can get stronger or spend a ton of cash, which I won’t do. I like the game but I have 200 psn games you want people to stick around give them reasons too.
This is my favorite game. I’ve always gotten prompt help if I’ve had an issue. Customer service and the tech team are a dream to work with for any problem I’ve had. It’s exactly what I would expect from a company that genuinely loves their games and their fans. I am experiencing an issue with the game freezing often despite the free space on my phone but that could just be because my phone is old (it’s an iPhone 11) and I can’t replace it until next March’s work bonus. I know before I complained about too many stamina potions, but since you added the option to use up to 9x the amount of stamina, now there is not enough. I take back my words from before with my sincere apologies. Had I know this was in the works I would have kept my mouth shut. Plus consider giving out more stamina potions. Everything else is perfect. I adore this game (except Jenova on the ship, I can’t beat her 😭).
Auto Battling…. I don’t like auto battle. It dilutes the value of my experience and I’m left feeling as if I didn’t earn what I have. I understand it’s convenient but it shouldn’t be so reliable that it clears content faster and better than I can. This is a good game, and I know I’m right about these things and my predictions always land. Wait until the honey moon phase is over. The team managing this game will be laid off because it will shut down in 2 years after the predatory cash shop tactics become easier to notice. FF7 is an amazing title. This game has potential if they dumb down the auto battle. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but right now its a glorified movie on replay. The real battle is having access to a phone charger. Not playing the game.
Solid gacha game with a lot of bugs. It’s a fun game, solid time waster with a decent retelling of classic stories. So far it has been very generous with gacha mechanics and I have gotten every weapon I have wanted so far and still have a lot of resources. The devs seem to listen to their players and make changes, which is commendable. Unfortunately the game is plagued with many bugs and errors; sometimes game-breaking for some people who are not able to log in. I also don’t like how the hardest content is usually only available during the limited time events, and then goes away forever. I hope going forward these issues are worked out.
love the game, but.... amazing story line and engaginging gameplay. Lots of ways to improve characters and grow to fight new stronger foes. my main problem is just tech issues. they fix one issue like one mode glitching and sending you to the title screen, and only a day later I cant login. been 12 hours now, wifi/ data both strong signal, cleared game cache, rebooted phone, and finally deleted and reinstalled the app... same issue cant get past the title screen. why do this to us on a saturday lol. If IT and devs were better staffed and focused on swiftly preventing and fixing these issues it would be an easy 5/5 game!
Idkkk. On one hand the game looks and sounds beautiful. Managing the ATB gauge feels fun and faithful to the IPs mechanics. The one flaw is the amount of fomo they are trying to push is just plain manipulative. We’ve all seen get this now packs but within your first hour you’ll be greeted w a get this now 12 hrs pack. Then as you continue to progress you’ll be greeted with those get this now within 12 hour packs left and right. The game also feels like it doesn’t have much content and I’m not sure how they’ll expand that? I know there is only so much story that they can add since they chose only FF7 and not FF in general however maybe they can focus on new innovative gameplay modes ? Idk imma keep and eye on this one but so far it’s half cash grab / half game.
Could be Better. This is a money grab game Everyone is aware of this Problem is with this game is that it promises the complete final fantasy 7 experience which crosses several games Currently, there is only 3 stories available and it’s not even the entire story as we will have to wait for a while until they up date with the latest update. When they update comes? Who knows as the team is currently invested in side events that have nothing really to do with the story. Grinding is tiring You can be level 50 with power over 90,000 but can’t handle defeating enemies that are 60,000 to 75,000 It takes too long to level up everyone The game crashes quite often it seems And I’m on a iPhone 15 pro Where it says “an error has occurred please return to title screen” and this will go on and on until you get tired of the notice and quit the game altogether The idea is to push you to purchase these loots to advance quicker, which has been a trend for a very long time and I’m sorry for anyone who falls victim into spending more than $10 on these. there is no real reward when the entire game isn’t really available.
Pulled an all nighter. I didn’t expect I’d spend as much time as I did with this but I did. If you’re a fan of FF7 this game is a pretty nice delight to get into. I wouldn’t say its pay to win at all (so far) and there’s a pass but mostly it’s extra rewards and a wallpaper for your Home Screen in game. Otherwise the game is a lot of fun and nostalgia-filled but also new at the same time using remake graphics for battles and more mobile friendly interface for battles but still keeping mostly true to the original. I really enjoy the revamped overlook world as well too. What can I say? You should play it, also the characters aren’t gacha it’s just their gear, which to me is a nice change for once.

Terrible. Terrible
Soul less and weak.. Just play the original games, the story is weak with very poor script and story telling, it’s just another gacha money hungry predatory game and feels offensive to the original games. It’s like when movie does a terrible remake of a film that was already perfect just stick with the original instead, this tarnishes the original story and games.
Loved FF7 since young!. Great twist to the original, beautiful graphics. Definitely something for die hard fans. Hope this comes to your next update~: - Exchange > Weapon Enhancement > adjustable quantities like all other areas would be great. 1 by 1 is a bit frustrating. Thanks
Error. Errror unable to open
Great fun but co op will not work at all. No matter how often I queue, what time of day, or what co op boss I try it always fails to queue as of the last 4 days or so
Sigh. Let’s be clear on what this is: a companies attempt to make money. Boring, optimised to sell you things, soulless. Rate accordingly so they stop pulling this tired trick and go back to making, you know, games.
All progress lost - support team rock!. Error connection caused all my progress to be lost. Opened the game and it had been completely reset. Got in touch with the support team and they were able to retrieve my game and sorted everything out!
Need to have a skip button or ticket. The gameplay and story is fine but the grinding isn’t fun. I hope you can add a skip button or give us some skip ticket to skip material grinding because its too slow. The materials to enhance and uncap isn’t a lot per mission. It would be great if you can implement this in as there are mobile games that grinding a lot has this system implemented. If you managed to update this in the next update or whenever able to, I’ll change it to a 5 star instead.
Controller compatibility. Excellent but no controller compatibility therefore not so good ..
Waste of time. Was ok to play but it’s just repetitive and every time you launch the game you have 20 pop ups before you can even play would rather spend my time in something more enjoyable
We need other languages. Where’s the Chinese version?
League of (one-winged) Angels. From a gacha veteran - the grind feels a lot worse in this game due to the lack of quality/quantity of drops, which they made absolutely necessary for any kind of progression. One star for the stunning graphics, but unfortunately it can’t make up for the bland gameplay and subpar storytelling.
It’s ok not great. Fix your co-op I don’t why it has to be difficult to find matches especially random ones so annoying never mind I just quit I can’t with this game just the grind is too time consuming I did try to give it a shot but I gave up such a damn shame
It can be fun. Battle system is a less complex version of FFXIII and FFXIII-2. Auto-battle (optional) is a little bit too good though, limit-break interactions aren’t always too engaging. Also Stance swapping (paradigm shift) has potential, wish it had more roles and party member role set ups. Fingers crossed for a future update! Basically if you want a nice summary of FFVII and Crisis Core with an inclusion of a (another) prequel story, liked the vibe of the FFVII OST, and/or simply enjoy FFVII spin-offs in general, then you may enjoy this game. (Decent for newcomers too as the retellings are detailed enough to understand the storylines and characters) (Gacha is also for weapon parts only at this time, meaning you can play as any party member you wish as they are all accessible from the start)
Needs controller support. Surprised to find no Backbone support. Needs this.
Notices. An error has occurred. Please return to the title screen.
Broken. Can’t get past the title screen. Well I can. I tap the screen once and an error pops up letting me know it’s returning me to the title screen so that’s something! All feedback on the game post early access is that the easy progression has dried up and only whales can progress. I guess the story elements won’t be cannon, and even if it is the writing will probably be bad like crisis core. Uninstalling this broken garbage.
Greedy. Game starts off okay but difficulty scale’s dramatically with the hopes you spend money to meet power level recommendations. Just play the original games and dont bother with this greedy gatcha game.
Good game overall. Game runs well and looks great, if your not a gacha veteran please save crystals for what you really want. The season pass is great value for money which is a nice change of pace, there is new content almost weekly which is amazing. The only down side is the co-op could use a rework so you are able to host an open room at the beginning
What a dream come true!!. Just knowing this exists is enough.
Won’t load. Every time I try to play chapter 7 our hometowns it kicks me out after the cutscene and it really annoying because al this buildup for Vincent and I can’t even play the story with him
So far so good!. I’m not a big smartphone game player but this had made me get hooked for several hours already!
First Anniversary and it’s over. Was a good game for it’s first year - very generous for a gacha game, and lots of different strategic options so any player could make good progress regardless of their luck. As many other reviews have said, the game looks lovely. But the developer’s greed has engulfed this mobile game (as was probably inevitable) - the First Anniversary released a premium content weapon that effectively has a ‘Win Now’ button to encourage people to spend money. It’s so strong that there is literally no need for any other consideration (so what’s the point of even playing?), and any competitive aspect to the game is now overwhelming stacked against anyone who has not obtained and powered up that premium weapon. Unless the developer has the sense to firmly nerf the weapon, the game is a lost cause. There’s no sense of achievement to playing any more, so if you’re curious just watch someone else play it on YouTube.
Goood. Goood game for ff enjoyer
Stuck on Loading screen. Game stuck in Loading screen after a data update. Still does not continue from loading screen even if I forced close the game app. App is basically useless now.
不能玩. 到现在也是不能玩…一直有个错误的问题
AMAZING. this is amazing I love it so much and there is even a new story line for sephiroth
FFVII is best!!. Everything is working perfectly And so love this game Hope you join it
Yet another... FFVII based money farmer, what a disgrace to gaming in general. This thing is basically using all the original models and content, with a different combat system (at least it’s automated), but with the same old money grabbing mechanics (general upgrades, progression). Yet another Square Enix release proving just how greedy they are. And no English voicing, shame on you.
Get controller support please!!. No controller support, please fix
Backbone support please!!!. Please add support for the backbone peripheral
Servers down?. Can't get in
An error was occurred. I try to play this game in my iPhone 14 pro max and my One plus but in both at the start of the game an error was occurred… I really don’t understand why this error please fix it.
The magic is gone.. I didn’t have high hopes when I first heard about this project and I was right to, the magic is gone for me. This is just another game ruined by gatcha mechanics and unnecessary online components. The graphics are brilliant I’ll say. Superb. If they took those graphics and just upgraded the original FF7 game I’d pay money for that game. This game thing is not even remotely open world, split up into these tiny chapters which I’m expecting to have to pay for further down the line as the story progresses. One of the biggest selling points for me was the young Sephiroth storyline. I could’ve forgiven everything else if that was good, but young Sephiroth isn’t a playable character. Very disappointing. In summary, huge potential but a predictable let down.
5/5. This is awesome it’s like your playing the original and the remake. Thank you square enix for making this awesome game! This is my favorite final fantasy of all time!!
a bit boring for farming. good game, personally im like only playing for certain characters and getting their skins, and everything is good except for the grinding. maybe make a 10x instead of 3x for farming (with the stamina) or a skip material/ticket. overall the game is kewl.
Dudes STOP………. come on,stop with the one star reviews when you have issues due to impatience on playing the game. The game runs buttery smooth, looks gorgeous and yes of course it’s a gacha. So if you don’t like grinding and in shop real money purchases like 99.99% of all mobile games the STAY AWAY. I’m having a blast so far…..!!!
Terrible terrible so terrible. I waited so long for this game and where do I start combat is terrible, no real ff materia experience, so many weapons so little need for them at all, accept just to spend money. The level, the grind it’s just horrendous and not appealing at all, even the levels the missions the new story is complete trash. When they make a mobile game they certainly make a certain type of game. I suggest waiting for The Division Resurgence and Wuthering Waves. Dont even waste your time!
Can’t get matched in co-op. Having fun with this, but every time I try to do co-op it always fails to match me with anyone.
“Did Sephiroth do this….?”. i could just copy and paste the entire wiki summary of FF7’s plot and leave it here, just to highlight the irony of this games existence. a f2p/p2w gacha mobile game that feels predatory to experience. the gameplay non-existent, yet maliciously addictive: “claim this!” “claim that!” “enhance! uncap! level up!”. bright colours and satisfying sound effects used to waste your time with menu navigation and braindead ‘auto’ gameplay. this is as if the Shinra Electric Company made a final fantasy game, except it’s very real and released by square enix. A spiritually evil product. don’t spend a cent. watch the story content on youtube or wait until it’s mentioned for 6 seconds in ff7 rebirth.
Not happy. Stuck on loading screen- instructed to delete and reinstall. Lost all game data and the money I spent on the game. Game DOES NOT tell you to “link your account” to save progress. Seeking refund now through apple.
Real Games. I've been intending to re-live FFVII and decided to give this a go in the interim. So far I've enjoyed the Story, as I've never played Crisis Core, so it's good to catch up. All in all though, despite the graphical differences, I much prefer the more complete version of the original FFVII, from the battle system to the rest of the missing bits and also a big one for me - no need to do updates. I'm so sick of so called "games" these days which require updates and have log in rewards and monthly challenges, etc. I understand they are designed to be addictive and I understand they are designed to keep things somewhat fresh. But a real game doesn't need this stuff. On the other hand, this is a free game, so for that, I have to give it four stars.
Game keeps crashing. This game has a fatal flaw and that is the game keeps crashing. Fighting a boss, crash, doing solo missions, crash, making draws, crash. As I’ve just found out, if the game crashes during a drawing, you’re screwed out of your tickets/gems and you’re screwed out of your weapons. For a Gacha game that is not good enough. The game has crashed more than 10 times already for me, and what I can get to play is barely 20 minutes without a crash.
Energy Aka Stamina AKA TRASH Di$ney. Stamina is a terrible joke, you only get 15 max, really. If I were you I’d be embarrassed that trash $$$$ grabing 1980’s Di$ney energy system mechanic was in the game at all and yet you double down on that junk. Honestly didn't even play the game after I found out it had an energy system. I don't care it you have made the best game that will ever exist, lets be clear you haven’t, I still wouldn’t stand there feeding money into the game just to play it. You aren't giving me an arcade vibe why the hell would I pay like you are, where is the machine, where is the coin slot? I’m never playing your game while it has stamina.
Random matchmaking apalling. Im a lifetime fan of the franchise, and love a good grind, but the matchmaking capabilities are garbage. A week in, im player level 17 and haven’t been able to join a single co-op match. Internet connection is perfect, but the amount if time wasted waiting for a match-up is regoddamndiculous. A whole lot of new content and event completely missed out due to this. Pretty disappointing. Something needs to be reworked here gentlemen.
Disgusting odds and lying farming gets you nothing. 36K summons of crystals and 50 summons of tickets 4 5star weapons game and odds is a scam do not play game for anything other than story as whales will dominate they aren’t free to play friendly as like I said I had 8 dead almost all blue multi summons and hours of wasted farming other than guaranteed 5 star on stamp summon dont -lay for anything other than story plus all the bugs odds and rates are a lie
Decent game needs world chat for co-op. First 3days as a f2p and I can say I think it’s fine gatcha system is not terrible 2k or 2500 crystals would be acceptable imo 3k is a lot Co-op is dead ..I think implementing a world chat or invite chat would fix New players won’t have a chance to co op if it only consists of veterans and high ops Apart from that a lot of fun so far
Player not required. This is not really a “game”, in the sense that you are not required. There are endless cutscenes, interspersed with battles that proceed automatically. You don’t actually need to do anything as a player except tapping to keep things going. Why have a massive 5 GB game (huge in-game downloads are required before you can play) in which you don’t have anything to actually DO??
Can you hook us up with controller support?. Game is awesome and would only be made better if you introduce controller support!!

Complete garbage game. So trash
Not what I expected. This game is not what I thought it was going to be…played it for an hour and laughed and deleted it…the whole thing sucks😅 and should not qualify as a final fantasy game whatsoever
Stamp drop rate. Please increase stamp percentage drop rate below 10% for 3 or more stamps is REDICULOUS for 3000 crystals. It takes days, maybe a week to get 3000 per roll. It gives us little time to gather more when the event (whatever it is) is only up for a few weeks. Most of the time I end up 9-10, missing the 12th box with the clothing. Game is good but there should more options to get blue crystals.
Unexciting weapon gacha. There’s no appeal in weapon gacha, none at all
Kind of fun until…. Been playing every day for quite awhile now. It could be quite fun and used as a way to get people excited for rebirth. But there is a hard hard glass ceiling once you get to the more difficult fights. I’m the highest level I could be and unlocked almost everything I can for my main 3 characters. Total power level of about 160,000 and my main weapons up to level 80/90. Up until this point the game was manageable but now I can see that if I want to get through some of the more challenging stuff; I’ll have to take out a second mortgage. The materia system is the worst part. The odds of getting a 5 star or higher materia is so low that I thought it capped at 4 star materia. There’s little bits that can help increase your odds, but I’ve been at it since the first month it was released and I’ve pulled one single 5 star materia. Now multiply that by the fact that ideally you’d like 3 of each available materia at 4 or 5 stars and you can see how this becomes basically impossible. Materia is also almost the only thing that can increase your defense.
Final Fantasy Record Keeper. Seeing this grindy cash grab makes me especially sad that we lost a classic like final fantasy record keeper in order to make this. The game requires an extreme amount of grinding if you don’t pay real money (which they constantly give you ads for) and the gameplay requires you to play on auto as there is no room for creativity with the gameplay as it is ultimately worst than just running auto. Please just bring back ff record keeper. One pleasant thing I will say is the graphics and cut scenes are nice.
Great game. I love this any ff fan should play
Don’t waste your time on this. What may first appear to be a hub to experience all past and future stories in the Final Fantasy VII universe, soon turns out to be a generic grindy and boring gacha game. You need materials to level up anything AND to break level caps all the time and it’s a pain to get them, much worse than any gacha game I’ve played in the past few years. It’s basically a trap with a coat of FFVII paint. Avoid as it will be short lived.
Greedy monetization. Good game but needs more quality of life speed up/content repetition skips for grinding. Really greedy monetization with double gacha (stamps chance on top of gacha chance). Cosmetics really should just be a separate purchase instead of nesting them in double gacha that requires build up progress (have to finish one full gacha to start on another cosmetic). Combat timing is a bit hit and miss when the full animation needs to play through or it can get interrupted by enemy attacks. Disappointed with the monetization when the game is pretty decent.
How to ruin FF7s legacy. Yeah this may be cute but turning ff7, a legendary game into a micro transaction cash grab….. nope, delete.
Needs to be more f2p then p2w. Its very good game, but minus the payed to win it ruins the game fun capabilities. Less p2w and more content for the players to enjoy the game. Then, the game will shine but if it keeps going where money is involved these games end up dying within 2-3years and people get bored/quit. For me its 2/5. But 3/5 is enough as whole rating. As ff7 fan wish it was more fun then p2w.
Great game with little need to pay. This game is actually pretty good and very F2P friendly, I enjoy the FF 7 nostalgia. Ive yet to clear the very hard but it does seem reachable if you enhance the proper gear and materias. Hopefully it doesn’t become a P2W game in the future
Game crashes. At first I enjoyed the game but now can’t even do anything cuz game constantly crashes. Every time I try to do events crash crash crash…
Useless. Shame on this
Controller Support. I would like to request if possible that you look into creating controller support for your game. I’d really love to be able to use my Backbone thing your game! And I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Too much grinding and not enough content. I was a super FF7 fan when it was released for the PS. So when I first saw this game, I got super excited. It seems to try to fill all the missing parts in the original story. However, in order to proceed the story line, you must grind for the various different systems in the game, such as experience, stuff to level up for weapons, character growth, materia and etc. You are fighting the same stuff over and over, I mean literally over and over possibly for days, then eventually you can proceed with the storyline just by a bit. It’s like the classic FF serious with lots of grinding but at least back then you are running in the world map to grind, in this game you are hitting the same “grinding slot” and grind the exactly the same “grinding slot” again and again. Imagine you have to do the same dungeon over and over just to get something. They even created different difficulties for the same dungeon which only contains a few bosses. Imagine repeating that over and over. It turned very boring with not enough content. Unlike the other gatcha games with actual enjoyable content, it feels like it’s trying to get you to spend money on every single thing. I must say I am super disappointed. Got stuck at Hojo with a weak team, takes too much time to level up. I ended up deleting the game completely.
SE Asia please. SE Asia please
Controller support. Hello can you please add backbone support to your game? Thank you
Grindy cash grab.. Iv given this app more then enough of my time to say this is nothing more then a cash grab. You rely on pulling weapons to beef em up to viability for late content and even that demands multiple weapons and luck (some are complete garbage). And to level said weapons you have to do 2 different events and at the highest tier drop on average 2-3 pieces when it requires 30 to upgrade of both xp and upgrade materials. Plain and simple unless you live and breath ever crisis as a ftp player you need to have luck (don’t bring up the pity considering that iv had aeriths fairy tail weapon on all of my pities and have yet to get anything above blue. rarity matters since unless it’s 5 star it won’t have the better ability) and crazy energy planning and yes even with the extra given out considering you need to also level chars and char streams which is whole other set of mission to spend energy on but I digress.
Decent. It’s ok to be a mobile game, specially a ff mobile game. But there are pretty minor and major issues. for instance, for the combat part when you play solo it feels unfair because u are controlling 3 characters at once, which leads to my next issue, the ai it’s pretty bad. So it’s hard having it on semi/auto as u don’t know what the ai will do. For this I recommend a tab in the settings to target a specific task on a specific time. For instance u guys have it that the ai switches from attack to defense a couple seconds before the boss finishes charging, so why not do something like if an enemy does an x amount of dmg to a certain character it can calculate the characters health, item and level to that boss stats or something like that, because the healing on the ai it’s also bad, from experience it usually targets the lowest health character and ignores how much damage each character receives from a specific target. The ai is overall unreliable when your party level/power let’s say it’s 47000 and the encounter is 45000. but when you are around 1.25x higher then the level or power (idk what’s called) the ai it’s pretty useful because the health target accommodates according to the amount of dmg u receive. So no matter how many mistakes the ai will receive it will heal the correct character. Or the 2nd option to fix the ai is to have somehow all of your parties abilities on the screen at once , or the 3rd option is to freeze time momentarily when u switch a character…but yeah that’s my experience so far.
Please add controller support!. Game is awesome but would be so much better with controller support!
Thank you. Thank you for making this and bringing my favourite game back into light with fresh ideas and the same story I love I get to relieve this in a fun and different way while still having connections to the original. Thank you.
EPIC FAIL: Error return to title permanently. Just got the game and I’m stuck with this and I tried everything I could, and I just got my brand new phone yesterday too.
Closer to the original than remake. The combat system and story is closer to that of the original ff7 than that of the remake. Generous gatcha system
fine. I love sephiroth ,but sometimes i wanna do the co_cp,there just no one can play with me
Not what I expected. I will admit the game looks ok and is kind of fun. What I don't like is that it requires always online and always trying to get you to spend money. Then the game takes up 9 GB with a full installation and you have to play the games in order, first FF7 then the second then you can play the third game.
Pls add a rush feature. It would be nice to have a rush feature so that you don’t have to fight the same battle over and over again. I got too many stamina bottles and some are about to expire… other than that, the game is great!
Cannot even play the game. It keep telling me that "an error has occured"
This game is a disappointment in all areas. Was so looking forward to this game and that it would bring back a lot of classical elements of the original game that made it really fun and original. Instead it just feels so much like it just burrows the IP with the basic mobile RPG gameplay that’s not even fun and repetitive. At least if you are not going to have the same gameplay as the original game, you should try to make it fun, but it’s not. Lot of it is just a mash up of messy UI that doesn’t even look good and try to sell you skins and items that doesn’t make sense for me to buy. Seriously the UI is looking so hideous, messy, non-intuitive, don’t even know what’s going on, and doesn’t even make sense for a mobile game. No offence to the devs but this is such a disappointment for me. Just going to delete and never come back.
macOS App Store support. Please enable download of this game from macOS App Store for Apple silicon devices
0/10. Bad choice of colors in some areas… Unfaithful to the original. Might as well dress Cloud with Mario Bros, Sonic, Spider-Man or Superman colors… This game feeds an hidden industry. It’s sad to see that there is only 1.1k ratings… Please bring back legacy title of FF1-6 and ideally they should not require an iPhone 20 to run 16-bit or less games.
Horrible approach to compensation on Matt and Aerith banner. Not fair how everyone didn’t get to take advantage of the compensation for the Matt and Aerith banner bug. Should make it so that everyone can summon for the next day or two and get the same reimbursement. Some players got hundreds if not thousands of dollars in free rewards. I was planning on summoning and I saw a bug so I waited for it to get fixed before I summoned and because of that I missed out on so many free rewards
Controller support. I would love the opportunity to be able to play the game with my backbone or other controllers. While initially it did feel off-putting, the touch controls work excellent for the battle system. The control stick needs work. This is the natural limitation of onscreen touch. What about haptic feedback as an option (toggle I/O). The steam deck does this well with its track pads. Is it a possibility to try these options? Overall an excellent game. I love the way the graphics have the original characters structure but are clean and updated for todays visual standards. Audio is great, as to be expected. Runs really well on my 13 pro max. I never pay any money for a gacha game. This is my first time; had not even finished the tutorial at that time. Keep the content flowing. My PS5, XBX, 4080 rtx computer are starting to gather dust. I believe Apple is on the cusp of becoming the premier gaming environment. Titles like this from Square Enix and there partners. Capcom with their soon to be released (full game) Resident Evil are leading the way. I love games and have since the early 80,s. Developers LISTEN too me. Give us full featured games. Give us the PC/Console games Give us the ability to use mouse and keyboard (maybe that’s a thing) market it. Controller. Ahem. Apple needs a proper controller. With a full Elite series 2 back buttons, PS5 adaptive triggers and Steamdecks track pads. If you build it. We will come.
It Crashes. The game crashes all the time, it's impossible to play it when it crashes every 3 minutes
Huge bug in the level where I fight soldiers with Cloud and Aerith. There’s an issue where makes me return to title screen in the level where I fight Shinra soldiers with cloud and Aerith. I cannot advance in Final Fantasy 7 story anymore. Is there a way to fix this without this error happening all the time?
Crashes. Love the game but it crashes constantly and makes trying to play very frustrating
Reminds me of final fantasy games. However the popups at the start are many.
Great Game but there are flaws. Please figure out the stamina tonics issue. You need to give us more or make the games less tonics….it sucks when you can’t even play the game because of it.
Fun game with some annoying flaws. It’s fun, like any gatcha game it’s repetitive. Anyone doing mobile gaming should expect this by now, though so get past that and it’s pretty good, FF7 nostalgia included. Biggest gripe with this game is the amount of stamia potions you get gifted but can’t use because they heal too much stamia per potion, but you also can’t decline the gift so I have now hundreds of stamina potions that I can’t collect or make go away in my inbox.
Needs an Update. Since the latest update (monster hunter), my game app either takes forever to load, or doesn’t load at all with multiple restarts. It also constantly freezes or shuts down. Love this game, please fix!
Can't even be played. It says an error has occurred, return to title screen
Can’t play. Is the game good? I don’t know, i sat here closing store pop ups for 2 minutes near start of the tutorial. They wouldn’t stop.
Garbage. Still garbage
Great game. I am loving this game the world of Final Fantasy VII is my favourite. I would love to play on my backbone if the developer could add controller support.
Ugh. Bad grind heavy gacha game (worse than most) with a FF7 paint job. The time and effort required to make ANY progress isn’t worth the payoff, save your time and money.
Wow. Wow so nice you make this game! I love Final Fantasy so much so well done! Thank you for making this game on AppStore!
Love this game. I was hesitant. But learning about sephoriths past was a key to me joining the combat is nice! Three different story lines!
This game stresses me out. There are a lot of things that are bad about this game, but missable costumes is the one that bothers me the most. If they don’t start giving second chances to get past costumes I will probably stop playing.
Cannot play on ipad mini 6. An error has occured. Returning to the title screen. Thumb down.
Boo. Doesn’t work 👎

Good App, But Issues. I love playing this game. It’s definitely a new spin on Final Fantasy VII and I enjoy it. Unfortunately, I am dealing with the fact that I keep getting kicked off the game and this comes after the fact I change recommended equipment. I don’t even get credit for completing the battle. Please fix this problem. I’m getting tired of getting booted off my game just because I refuse to go with recommended equipment. My game has kicked me off at least seven to eight times so far.
More mobile junk. Look, even if the idea is neat, which it is, the game launches with a bombardment of shop rewards that take a good minute to click through. Every. Single. Day. Something like 7 daily login bonus pages each time you launch the game. That alone is reason to avoid this. Moving beyond the daily login and mission bonuses, this takes the standard mobile gaming shovelware playbook and pushes it full force. - multiple currencies to keep track of? Check - multiple versions of characters to acquire and level? Check - multiple versions of weapons to acquire and level? Check - gating chunks of each story to progress in the other stories? Check - only allowing progress on a single host (phone, tablet, or pc) and requiring a game transfer tool if you want to play on a secondary device? You betcha This type of game development is a cancer, and should not be supported. Don’t force recurring engagement through addiction and fomo, players will keep coming back and will even spend money if you make the game fun.
Great Game but…. I just came across a “crash” and it just had to happen when I was using the tickets to draw weapons for Yuffie. Unfortunately I’m not sure whether the game redeemed the items for those tickets but it kind of stings if this was all lost. This game emphasizes “grinding” to make your party stronger and like I said, it stings when something happens like that and your progress kind of gone towards nothing.
Love it!!. Not a big fan of gacha games but this one is a great one, I love the Auto battle and fast forward options, literally set your team up with the recommended materia and just let them go. Even grinding out materials and exp is breeze in this game. I also love that the story is very streamlined like the hit the hot points pretty darn well, I will admit though I’m speeding through the FS (First Soldier) story trying to get to Sephiroth lol. Thank you Square Enix for not only this game but 16 and the 7Remakes as well!
No English, really?. I've been a dedicated fan of the Final Fantasy series for decades, so to say I was excited about 'Ever Crisis' would be an understatement. But imagine my disappointment when I launched the app to find Japanese dialogue only. Every major game in the series has been dubbed, and the omission here feels like a massive oversight. Sounds play a huge role for me in immersing myself into a story, so not having it in a language I understand truly took away from the experience. Square Enix hyped this for over a year, and to see them not cater to their long-time international fan base feels like a letdown. We expected, and deserved, better. Deleted after the first subtitle.
Wow.. This actually reminds me more of the original than the remake, even though they recycled tons of assets from the remake. I’m having a good time so far, it’s a departure from remake enough to warrant my time, so far it seems like the paid content is not story based but rather side content for upgrades. I’m not sure yet how I feel about that, and being episodic I am also not sure about, but I’m eager to see how it evolves over time.
Good Multitasking Game. If you like FF7 and have a pretty busy work life, this game has a lot of ways you can knock out the tedious grinding “automatically” while you work, so that you can devote time to the more difficult challenges when you are able to make time for them. It’s definitely a “modern” alternative to traditional gaming, and it is rewarding enough with its side stories and entertaining costumes.
Auto play ruins games.. Players will always take the path of least resistance. If the game can play itself better than I can manually play it, it begs the question: is this really worth my time? Sadly, it is not. Square had an opportunity for this to be their Genshin Impact. Unlike that game, which prioritizes immersion, this throws you into countless menus upon login, bombarding you with ways to spend money while holding your nostalgia hostage. They could have risen above, instead they settled for mediocrity. This will probably disappear the way The First Soldier did (a tragedy, as that game deserved far better and should be resurrected on PC and consoles.)
Not what it looks like. After playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper for years, I had high hopes that this would be a more premium version of that deep combat and strategy. (And I don’t mind paying occasionally for a gatcha with fun new limit breaks for my favorite characters) Instead this game is pretty much a mindless and soulless auto-play with virtually no strategy and no point in even buying the gatcha weapons, as they make very little difference to the game. So I do not recommend, and I don’t believe this games will last very long given its clear money-drive cash grab interface. The only way they stop making this garbage is to leave reviews like this, and stop giving them money.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake at home!. I’ve really been wanting to replay the OG FF7 with the new releases of the remakes; but god, the graphics and outdated gameplay make it extremely difficult to get through. This is a perfect way to replay the original story in its glory but in a way that’s easier and more adjusted to a modern version. A few technical things here and there, mostly OCD problems. But besides that, I’m having an absolute blast so far!
Great Addition to FFVII. First of all it has Aerith so that’s a huge win. 5 stars. Joking aside, I’ve been playing since launch. It’s gacha but you don’t need to pay if you just want to enjoy story, but I’d say you’d have to pay some to be competitive in the rankings and such. Also there are so many outfits, some of them are free but some you’d need to either collect the games currency to get or pay for the currency and roll for random. The equipping is pretty complex and setting up strategy is fun. Guilds are nice addition. Lots of gifts for anniversaries and event starts. I am enjoying the new story, the mini game aspect (chocobo and highwind). There is more info on the characters and I think this game hints at what’s to come in Part 3. Anyway, great and highly recommend!
Pretty game, but not really fun. This is a very beautiful game. I love the graphics. My problem is that unless I use the auto play function, I get beat by enemies that I should have no problems with. I can’t beat them, then I switch to auto play mode and the AI wins easily. So I’m reduced to a spectator and not a player. Why can’t we get a game that looks like this, has controls similar to FF7, and you can actually play?? I just would like to see something like the older play styles so I can control and play the game. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to not have a game that I just watch.
Excuse. I get it is do what an amazing looking game to play mobile…..you could just do that with the real game and steam deck, this is ultimately another excuse to provide a gacha based game that in a few years they will ultimately shut down service for leaving customers with nothing for the money they may have paid and probably a mostly disappointing game play lets talk about the Popular final fantasy character that never showed up upon the last game they made this is just square enix eager to be in debt with people again when they shut down with no regards to anyone, not this time square.
Fun, but…. The gameplay is great, though powering up weapons is a bit of a pain. Maybe dial back the required fragments from 200 to 100? The main problem I have is that the game randomly freezes. Whether it’s loading screens, Materia, Co-op, or single-player, it doesn’t matter. I am getting annoyed with it. Please fix this. The game is fun, but I will not continue to play if this keeps happening. There is no other info I can give. It just freezes and that is it. Thank you.
Fun while it lasted. I deleted the game to take a break from getting back on it but I forgot to link my account which no data with all the progress I went through. Yea I’m sad about it but now that made me not want to play the game anymore it was fun while it lasted even tho it barely came out I was almost level 50 with my characters I don’t think it’s worth for me to go through of all it. Thanks SE for making and releasing an incredible game.
A game worthy of my time. Every gacha game I’ve ever played was only ever a F2P that occupied my mornings for only a few months before I got bored. This game has held my interest for more than 6 months now and I’ve invested close to a grand at this point. I am happy to continue because its evolution is consistently adding layers of complexity in gameplay that are challenging and rewarding. There are many aspects that can improve and the developers have shown that they listen to its players. Looking forward to a long time with this game!
Stuck on a black screen saying loading. I was playing the game and it then just went black screen with just loading and stayed like that for 10 minutes. Then I quit the app and reopened it but still just did that. Then I uninstalled the app and redownloaded it and it is still doing the same thing. I love this game it’s great and awesome but can we fix this. The app is updated as well.
Love it, but…. Love it, but it has small bugs, not much else about it though, it is near perfection, I absolutely love this app, it is a classic made better, I love how you made the before stories. The only problem is that it sometimes just freezes and down move for like 15 - 20 minutes, or sometimes it just straight up kicks me out of the app, but other than that, it is, And I mean it, AMAZING! Great job.
Fun little time-passer. I’ve been f2p since launch, and I’m frequently sweeping through events, completing EX 2 missions, and I haven’t hit a bump in the story quests yet. I may not be able to get every single outfit, but I’ve gotten quite a few, and luckily the weapons go into the main pool once a banner’s over. Overall a fun, stylish, and surprisingly fair gacha. Definitely more fair than KHUX was for sure.
Good, but I dread opening it. Really enjoy a lot of things, and I'll try to push through for the new sephiroth content. But the half a dozen plus pop ups that I have to close out every login are the kind of thing that make me lose interest in games very fast. Maybe if they could be closed out by tapping anywhere rather than a specific button, it'd be less annoying. Yeah it's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things, but I can already tell it's going to cause me to quit the game sooner rather than later.
What A Waste. This was marketed as a “remake” of the classic FFVII style. I would’ve paid a full $60-$70 for that, easy. What we got is a super grindy, unfinished gacha that’ll just waste your time and money. The story elements aren’t even close to finished. The Sepiroth prequel storyline is pretty bland and feels directionless. You’ll either be spending like 5 hours a day doing auto-battles to grind levels/gear to do most things or be spending a ridiculous amount of money to be able to do everything. Hope that “limited banner” is worth $150 to you. If you’re lucky.
Great game but... This is an incredible game. For a gacha game it is really fair. I have been playing since release and have not had issues clearing content. I even have multiple OB10 weapons that are not event. My only complaint for this game, is the freezing and connection issues. They keep trying to “fix” it, but never seems to get better. It is massively frustrating and is actually the main reason I am writing this review in hopes more word gets out about the connection issue. Fix this please and I will change my review.
lost my date :(. great game only had toGet rid of it to conserve room when I re-download it l. i didn’t delete it.!! I now have to start all over again. linked it to Square Enix account.. thought it backed it up did. It’s a shame , wasted all that time. :/ other wise amazing game . wish there was a open world map or something. and a better pvp option . i have played and own ever Square soft/ Square Enix game formally a player in FF7FS . so i had high hopes for this game .
Got me again… For now.. I’ve tried other Gacha games and deleted immediately. The genre is not for me. However, anything Final Fantasy VII is. While visually stunning with incredible audio, this game is all about the endless menus. At first, you can play this game but once you get to a certain point, it’s humanly impossible to play at the pace necessary to succeed. A huge departure from the original turn-based game and the remake’s fast paced action. I’d have preferred a FFVII Compilation Pocket Edition. I’m brainwashed enough to have paid $100 for a premium experience. While fun for now, this game is short for this world.
Incredible game, incredible story and memorable characters. The fact that some people expect a completely free game in 2023 still boggles the mind. I’m sorry, but Square Enix didn’t spend several years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing a game out of the goodness of their heart to bring you a completely free experience. These types of mobile games have been around for a decade now. Get used to it.
Soulless Gatcha Game. I’ve been loyally playing FF games for about 30 years, bought most the iOS versions, and I was so excited for this concept (notably getting versions of the PSP games I never played)…or what I thought was the concept. I thought I was getting a blend of retro-FF7 story with some new twists and a simplified format. I was sold. I figured it would be episodic, with a first charter free and rest to pay. And I was prepared for spending that money. What I got was a Gatcha game that just keeps you clicking things, auto plays battles (AI is better at battles than I am), and throws ads in your face. I spent more time clicking through weapon and character enhancements than actually playing the story. The game looks beautiful and had so much potential, but the gatcha element killed it for me. Unfortunately, I don’t think this is recoverable and I’ve sadly deleted it after a week. It could’ve been great if they dropped the hyper-enhancements & gatcha weapons. They should have just sold episodes and skins. I’m really sad at these decisions.
Good game but I have issues. The story is great and the graphics are awesome. My gripe is with how difficult the game can be unless you grind or pay real time money especially for story mode. I feel story mode should be easily accessible. I also don’t like the level Sephiroth came at. He’s level 23 while all my other characters are 46. I feel as if new characters should at least come in at the same level as the characters you have. Now I have to level even more. It’s a little too time consuming. I might instead choose to watch this all online and delete the app to save the headache.
FF7 lite + gacha. If you like, or love, FF7 then this is a must play version of the game. It can be played just for the story, or played like other “gacha” games where you play through events. The story removes the world exploration part of the game and substitute them with cutscenes and battles. The gacha part of the game is pulling/unboxing/summoning Weapons from a banner/category that will help you clear the game’s content. The pros outweigh the cons, so you have little to lose. That’s if you have the time to spare.
Gacha nightmare. Absolutely LOVE Final fantasy especially VII being my first entry. The original is a classic. I don’t really enjoy the remaster as it’s everything of FFVII without the feel of it. So I was excited to see a reformat for it in the way of the classic game, awesome right? Wrong. An insular company Applibot is one of the worst gacha companies. Shutting down many of their games with little warning ( galaxy saga, legend of the cryptids, monster maestro, even reusing assets in a new game after abandoning another ) they’ve basically ruined many games already but now to take games like Nier and final fantasy and dilute the experience to this is just shameful and gross negligence to whoever gave the rights to this company for profit.
An exploitative cash grab of a fan base. I don’t know if I can describe my disappointment with this game. While I love the art style, this would’ve been better served as a full on Remake with this art style of the original game. Instead, they gave us this “game” meant to nickel and dime the Fanbase while they try to sell us on upgrading gear and equipment that we have bought in the original game and the remake. The combat is water down, the encounters, lack life and so much of what made the game great is stripped away on an attempt to open your wallet. I seriously expected better. This is nothing short of a wild failure. This does not add anything for the fans, and what new stuff is there is hidden behind greedy micro transactions.
What even is going on?. This game seems to be a re-hash of FF7 Remake, which is fine because that game was pretty legit. But I have no clue what is going on here: the UI is a mess, there’s red dots to click everywhere, a bunch of McGuffins to chase down in different game modes, a billion currencies with random names that may or may not be related. Seriously. I’ve been playing RPGs since the first FF7 came out and this is the most obtuse game design I’ve seen in a long time. Even as far as gachas go (and I’ve played dozens), this game is disjointed and messy. I loved FF7. And can tolerate gachas. But I don’t have the patience to decode all the convoluted mechanics here.
Decent. More of a gacha and less of a game. Somewhere between an idle afk game and a turn based one. There are things to do as you progress and work towards but the end game is your typical mobile gacha where you run the same stage on auto XXX amount of times and burn stamina. Most of the strategy involved is dependent on what weapons you are able to get and strong the weapons are (how many copies are pulled) clearing everything with base 5* weapons is doable but incredibly difficult compared. F2P is entirely possible but don’t expect to be able to clear all content.
They got Clouds mentor with no shirt on. They could not have taken a bigger step back than this. Game is a repetitive piece of lazy waste. Paying for skins and weapons of course. I’m under the influence so I’m just gonna say bring first soldier back plz. I beg u. And upgrade the immersive battle system. First solder. Not this one. Throw this one away plz. KissSomeWasabi. If you made it this far just know I rated 5 stars to tell the world we need first soldier back so bad dawg🙏🤞🏾
Slightly deceiving. Great game overall however seriously lacking in the story. I was expecting more from the original FF7 and other versions. I see a cross over snd they make it seem likes its a nee story except it really isn’t. Looks like it was lazily slapped together to make a story with some nifty graphics. The virtual items are not even worth it. Too expensive and I would only pay if the game was a complete game. Seems predatory.
Awesome game. Everything is truly authentic to FF7 found in this game. When I saw I can play as Cloud or Sephiroth I was like oh this definitely got me hooked. The only thing that needs improvement is the materia upgrades otherwise synthesis and enhancing your weapons is on point. It would also help if the characters actually spoke many languages that way your not reading subtitles all day.
Incredible game—exceeded all expectations!. It’s really an entire Final Fantasy game in its own right—and an excellent one at that. What’s more, it’s free to play. I’ve played for dozens of hours and still love every minute. The gameplay and RPG mechanics are amazingly deep, and there’s an incredible amount of endgame content that they continue to add every week or so. Never expected to play a game of such high quality on my iPhone—it blows everything else I’ve played on mobile out of the water. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
My feelings towards Ever Crisis. The game itself is full of so much information and game building. The team that created this had put so much love, dedication, sacrifice, and most importantly, vision. This game is the best mobile game I HAVE ever PLAYED in my lifetime without a shadow of a doubt. I will support and play this to even my last breath of life. Thank you for allowing me to play this wonder of a game. I am eternally grateful for everything you’ve all done. Thank you
I wanted to love it. Just like FF7R, I wanted to love this game. The story elements from the OG games are the strong points. Everything else about the game is a tedious slog of Auto battles. Until they incorporate simulating already won battles to enable you to play the parts of the game worth playing, I’d avoid wasting large chunks of your day and device/battery life. All events circulate between 3 reskinned stories. Free to play is rewarding to an extent you just have to save your currency and target a particular event. Personal bias, these new games make me sick. You really felt the ingenuity and passion behind the OG titles and for them to have 25 years to release something as bland as what we’ve gotten so far, is an insult to the original ambitions.
Ambitious but In the Wrong Ways. I don’t want to pay money to advance in the story because my weapons are otherwise too weak. At least not during the first Chapter! Wait a few months or Chapters before you slide the difficulty scale. I don’t want to hold a magnifying glass to figure out which sigil I need to beat monsters or read ability descriptions. The combat has nuance and is interesting but that means nothing if I can’t read or interpret what I have to do! I don’t want to put all my characters on Auto in order to have a reasonably paced battle. Please offer a speed increase option!
Wow. Such a fun and easy way to play through the FF7 compilation in short bursts. If you are an old school fan of the series you will love this game. There is a lot of new things as well as plenty of old nods to the original that throws your childhood nostalgia into overdrive. Plus it’s free !! Money is only for convenience or if u just want cosmetic items. Thanks to everyone involved for your hard work . This experience is truly amazing.
Nostalgic & New. This game has rekindled a love for FF7 which I have enjoyed for the last 13 years or so. Everyone was skeptical in their own right about a “reboot” on mobile but it has not been disappointing at all. Sure, there are ways to spend money in game and I’m sure that annoys some but you don’t have to spend any money to beef up your characters and enjoy the campaign, solo content, or co-op. Excited to follow the rest of Sephiroth’s journey and dive back into the FF7 world. Beautiful graphics. Fun gameplay. Easy to play on the go.
Ok. Ok so I give this game a five star becoming Ik they are going to update it and fix the issues that everyone is stating and having but more importantly I came to this game because I would like an opportunity and option to be able to play as young septheroth and experience his side and point of view from all three story’s it would be awesome Instead of playing as the main protagonist of all three stories we get septhroths stories and point of views of what happened and give us a chance to play as the villain instead of the hero
Couldn’t Recommend Enough. As a huge FF7 fan, I was thrilled to see more lore on the characters, especially Sephiroth. Being able to make a party with Zack and Cloud warms my heart. The dynamic duo we never got in Crisis Core or the original but we deserved! As far as gameplay goes, I find grinding a bit tedious but doable. Graphics are of course excellent and the battle system isn’t bad. Not a fan of the sigil system.
An Absolute Success. First and foremost, this is a gatcha game. You have to realize and accept that first, because most of the complaints for this game are against absolutely standard gatcha game elements. That being said, it takes the best of all those games and unites them under an FF7 skin. And its a marvel of a visual and audio experience with the music and graphics straight from the FF7 Remake. I fully intend to upgrade this review if/when they add an element of PVP / tourney / leaderboards. The only thing this game lacks is a sense of competition and seeing how your team stacks up against others.
Updated review: Don’t waste time or money on this game.. Let me say this to start out, I love Final Fantasy VII, it’s always been near and dear my heart it was the first RPG I played. I bought a PS5 just to play the Final Fantasy VII remake. And I also bought Crisis Core. I am most likely a biased fan towards this product, and was very excited when it was released. However, after playing it since its release, I would advise against playing this game for anything more beyond the story. TLDR: it’s buggy and your grind will be in vain. The game is incredibly buggy and support is awful. Two incidents are: 1. I pre-registered and grinded hard opening week, got a bunch of rewards and then my account was unaccessible due to a glitch that they later fixed about 1-2 months later. I had to start over which I though annoying but it was growing pains. 2. The most recent event “Sephiroth - The Arrival…” is incredibly buggy. I grinded this morning using stamina boost and when I went back the rewards weren’t in my inventory. They’re just gone. I can count that I should have more of Barrett’s weapon pieces (it’s easy to track).
We’ve Been Waiting, and it’s Worth It!. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of this game and I’ll just say I really haven’t been able to put it down since launch yesterday! The gameplay and story is rich and enveloping and it is very F2P friendly. It’s very easy and fun to level up your characters and weapons and do gacha pulls without having to pay. I may be biased because I love FF7 but this is the best gacha I have played in awhile, can’t wait for more updates!
Nice but. Big fan . And enjoy FF , I would have liked to voices the reading can be a bit long and nostalgic an option to hear and follow along like a audio book would have been perfect . The Japanese voices are nice but I have no idea what is said . But for me to invest something has to feel long term and feel it will stick around . And FF should be evolved from all other games by now . I should be leading the pack . From graphics to track and visual effects . Sure you made a year but I feel more could have been put in to it an blown everyone out of the water even SWGOH app .
Nostalgic. Happy they made this. It feels like a game put out there for the sake of being a game. Micro transactions give the vibe that its more if you want to support development. Would love to see this for 8. 8 was first ff game to play as a kid. Had no idea what i was doing and ended up spending like a million years just exploring balamb garden. When i made it to that first town with the giant robot that chases you i was shocked there was more game lol. All the content that followed was magical for me.
I'm disappointedly writing this because.... 2 reasons 1. An EXP mission is always a sign of development laziness. Who wants to FIGHT MONSTERS just to get stronger, so I can fight more monsters. That's stupid. The missions should be solely based on obtaining weapons. And exp should only come from trying to obtain rare things, not f ***ing experience points.... Come on. 2. The game is extremely repetitive. There is no reason to put the fight into manual mode because there is no benefiting action based on human interaction. It would be cool if there was a timing/trigger mechanism, sort of like FF8 when you get more damage and extra fight cutscenes when you complete them. Now that would make this game five stars alone.
Decent, but not great.. The game is fun, but I feel like a player should not have to do tiny pieces of each story before they can move on. A player should be able to focus on the story they want to play. For example, I wanted to play the first SOLDIER chapter one, but before I can I have to do part of the other two. I will give it a generous rating though for having Sephiroth’s backstory and making him playable.
