Learn to Read - Reading.com Comments & Reviews 2026

Unbelievable. My 5 year old son with ASD just started communicating verbally. From birth I engrained a love for reading and knew reading would be a portal of communication for him. I honestly didn’t know what to expect with this app but I’m always optimistic. Within one week my child learned how to read, his speech and imagination has skyrocket in these last 25 days. I would spend $100 a month on this app, no questions asked. I’m telling everyone I know about this app. It truly works. I still recommend reading physical books with your child every single day, as we continue reading our 5+ books a day- this is a great addition. Thank you. You helped my son (and me) more than you know.

99 lessons total. Loved it! My 8yr old was testing at a kinder level at the end of 2nd grade when we started this. We suspect a bit of dyslexia. Took him about 6 months to finish the whole 99 lessons and he tested at end of 2nd grade when he was done. He happily did a lesson almost EVERY DAY during the summer. He never was frustrated or bored with it. I did sit with him for every lesson until about lesson 70. They are short, about 5min, it’s quite a perfect time frame. Sometimes he would 2 or 3 lessons once he was reading better. The emphasis on the blend sounds really helped him advance. We wish it kept going past 99 lessons. Highly recommend for homeschoolers, younger kids who want to get ahead or kids who struggle. He liked the games, especially word piñata.

Finally! Perfect Reading App for homeschool families!. My preschooler asks me every afternoon if we can do our reading lesson and my 6 year old genuinely loves reading books—and does so on his own! I can’t say any of that would have been easy or even possible without this phonics app. After tons of research and talking with friends in elementary education, I know the methods of the app’s curriculum are sound. The lessons are easy to execute and my kids started showing progress in only a couple weeks. Plus, it gives us something enjoyable to do together that I don’t have to personally plan out ahead of time. It’s helped us build a lot of our family time around learning and reading. As a homeschool mom of three, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have found this app!

Get it!. I was an early reader, so at 4 years old I expected my daughter would show more interest reading and I was so excited to teach her!! We got the 100 lessons to learn to read book and although I was impressed with it, she didn’t like the lessons and we’d end up frustrated at each other. It was a chore! Recently (she’s 5 1/2 now) discovered this app and I was reluctant to try because I don’t love paying for apps, but I’m so happy to say it’s been the best thing for us. She LOVES it. She asks me to “play” it every day. She’s actually reading and it’s only been a week!! We still have 50+ lessons to go, but its given her so much confidence already! I know this is the push she needed and we’re so grateful. Just finished the whole thing! ***** we loved it! Thank you!

What a waste. They turned me down basically wants my child to already be reading I thought this program was a tool in helping children read if my child was reading then I wouldn’t need the program it makes no sense I don’t understand why you guys are acting clueless of the issue someone had to program it to do that after I got done answering the personal questions about my child then I was turned down so no I don’t want to reach out to support for help there’s no need you guys don’t want my child to utilize your program that’s fine but I feel like you guys only want to accept kids who’s already reading to make it seem like the program is actually helping but clearly if you guys are excepting children who’s already reading then your not helping them learn to read your basically just giving them reading material which is fine but the false advertisement has to go let people know this program is not for children who can’t read now you want to fix the problem after you turned me away that’s crazy stand on your initial decision you guys just didn’t expect me to make it known to public with my review that’s the only reason why you guys want to do something is because you want to look good to other parents who may see my review no thank you it’s other programs out there who wouldn’t judge my child and is welling to prepare him for school

So far so good. We just downloaded this app for my 5yr old who’s in preschool (turned 5 recently). The reason why I only have 4 stars is because I would like to see more games for them to play, on their own. Do the lesson with parents, then work on their own having fun with learning games. She just started so the only game she could play was the cloud one, & that frustrated her. She wanted to play more games from this app, but the other games were too advanced at the moment. So it would be nice to see more games for them to play, especially for beginners. So as they’re waiting for their next lesson they can have some fun playing learning reading games. Other then that so far it’s kept her interested. I’ve tried the hooked on phonics app, & she wasn’t interested. She kinda liked it, but I think it was too boring in the end for her. She likes the bar & sounding out the words with this app, liked the cloud game, & likes the song. She even went to watch her shows, & then asked me how she can get back to “her letters” lol Also maybe have the cloud game come up with more pics & different items for each letter, when she saw the same stuff for letters she said “AGAIN!!? Ugh!” Haha! And she was hoping to see a snake for S.

5 year old just finished the program. My daughter just finished the program and I am so happy that she has a reading foundation and we can start practicing and building off of that. This program exceeded my expectations and helped me a lot as a parent to teach my child to read. Took us about 6 months to complete. We could have done it in 4 months but we took our time going through the lessons. I definitely recommend this program to all my friends. I think it’s a great tool especially right before they start kindergarten. I’ve seen comments about the alphabet song being annoying to everyone which I thought it was too because of the repetitiveness but I still made my daughter sit through it and to trust the process. It actually helped us a lot towards the end of the program especially when she would get overwhelmed by vowels. My daughter memorized the song so all I had to do if she would get stuck on a letter sound is say “O makes the sound like…” or “D makes the sound like…” and she would finish the rest. I would say the only thing that I thought was kind of pointless was the last 4 lessons when it was just review and not actually learning anything. We ended up doing all the 4 lessons in one day because my daughter was so antsy to cross the finish line. I think it would have been cool to have one last book that compiled all the characters and everything that was taught at the end of the program as a “finale book” Another thing I think would help is in the hungry cloud game they should have the new sounds as part of game. Like still have all the letters and sounds but also the new sounds like “ea” “ai” “oo” “oa”.. etc Overall the program was great!

Taught my dyslexic kid to read!. My oldest son was extremely behind in reading. At 9 years old we were still struggling to find a way to help his brain connect the everything. We started this program as a last resort before finding a very expensive private tutor. After starting this program he progressed by leaps and bounds and not only finished it out but actually moved beyond and he tested at a late THIRD grade reading level. Considering he was at a kindergarten level prior to starting, I am extremely impressed. My 8 year old and 6 year old have also been doing this program. The 8 year old wasn’t struggling but just needed reinforcements. Heis on his last few lessons and reads almost everything independently. The 6 year old is moving through her lessons as well. And now even my newly 4 year old is begging to join. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to help their child learn to read. It’s been the best experience!

Amazing learning tool!. I absolutely love this reading app! In just 3 months of doing consistent 10-minute lessons daily, my 5-year-old went from only recognizing 23 letters to reading at a 2nd-grade level. The lessons are fun, engaging, and perfectly designed to keep young learners interested. What I especially appreciate is how the app encourages parental involvement—it’s not only a great learning tool but also a wonderful opportunity to bond and be present with your child. I’ve loved seeing my little one grow in confidence and ability each day. Highly recommend this app to any parent looking for a fun and effective way to teach their child to read!

Houston, we have a reader!. Reading didn’t come easy for my kid. There were lots of contradicting rules and frankly she wasn’t interested. I found this app at the end of first grade and it was a lifesaver. The lessons were short and engaging and focused on clusters of letters vs one at a time. She started asking me at the end of the day when she could do her reading app and I was shocked! She loved earning new characters and she was making progress that even she couldn’t deny! Her 5 year old brother also started his own program because he was jealous of the characters she was earning! Long story short, there is no better way to learn to read. I wish there was one step further to go into 3rd grade reading so that we could keep the momentum going! I will recommend to anyone and everyone.

Amazing!. I highly recommend this app to any moms willing to help their little reach reading goals or just starting out! I have had this app for quite some time and used it for my youngest daughter who was facing some reading challenges, to see how far she has come after plus working really hard in school with her teacher has sent my little one soaring! I couldn’t be happier with this app helping her along the way. Being able to see the progress and being excited with her to see what the prizes she would receive was such a big deal for the both of us! She would ask on a almost daily basis for us to do her reading lesson!! Again I recommend this app to all moms and their littles!

10/10 recommend. Within weeks, I saw my 4YO go from not being able to read anything to reading simple sentences and building up her confidence. This program does a wonderful job of breaking things into bite sized, age appropriate chunks to successfully learn. At first, she would BEG to do 3+ lessons a day. She loved the games and didn’t realize she was “learning” while she thought she was just playing. I haven’t found an alphabet phonic song as good as theirs - it includes the double sounds for letters like A E I O U which is extremely helpful. Will use again for my younger kid when she’s closer to 4. 2.5 seemed a bit early to start as she struggled with the tracing and word writing.

AMAZING APP!. This app is amazing! I am a real parent, not a bot. I homeschool my children. This had my five year-old reading in just a couple of months. We finished the complete program this evening and he is so unbelievably proud of himself. We two are our obviously also very proud of him within the first week alone of the free trial you will see that your kid is definitely learning how to read. We only paid the monthly fee after that and it was 100% worth it. I would highly recommend this app to any parent that is needing to get their child to read. Make no mistake, you will have to sit there with your child and guide them and keep them on track. Just because this is an app doesn’t mean you can just toss a tablet in their way and let them go At it on their own. You are the parent, you have to guide them and you have to keep them focused and on track and you have to help them pronounce words here and there. But your child will 100% be reading very well by the time they finish this program. My son now can pick up a book and read it, read signs while driving down the road, etc.. There is no reason that this app should not have five stars in every review.

Fabulous. My four year old was struggling with learning to read. We read stories together every night and we were working on Bob books but he would lose interest quickly and started protesting the Bob books. When he started saying “I’m bad at reading.” I knew we needed a change. I wanted reading to feel fun for him like a game, so when I saw an ad for this app I decided to try it and I’m so glad I did! He gets so excited to do his lessons and loves playing the games, plus he really enjoys the characters and is learning so much. I can tell it’s boosting his confidence a lot. Now he’s reading many words and starting to string them together. I never pay for apps but this one is definitely worth the money!

Could be a lot better in critical areas. The example sounds are great, but it could be so much better if the example word audio was linked to the slider, so the child can visualize the sound being said as the slider is moving. The reason for this complaint is that the app doesn’t help provide the most important part, which is transitioning from the individual letter sounds to saying the word in one go. Also, the slider highlight the letters itself, not under each individual letter. If the child could move their finger over the slider and see the connection with the sounds, both individually and then together, that would be good. Instead, the parent has to do it for them, and I feel this robs them of the connection the app should be helping them make on their own. The book reading is not well thought out. Level 11, there is a somewhat complex sentence and then the last word is slightly larger and not really a good queue on when the child should read their word, and at what time they should be uncovering/“revealing” the image, as you essentially have three tasks going on at the same time, so it just doesn’t work well. I’d rather go read a “hop on pop” type book with very short sentences, rather than a sentence that the child can’t read 90% of and has to unveil an image, and then gets quizzed on comprehension at the end of it all.

I’m impressed!. I’ve used a few reading programs to see what works best for my 4 almost 5 year old… we are homeschooling so I have the flexibility to do that. Kiddo loves the games/ app. Has learned a ton. Reached a point with blending where we needed to pause and focus on that blending skill more before continuing with more lessons/ increasing difficulty… I think this is more due to my sons early age vs. the apps fault. I stopped the membership for a bit and got asked if I would zoom with someone from their team to discuss why. I was very impressed with how much they take feedback to improve the experience/ games/ lessons. Overall a great great app. We will definitely resume when we reach the fluency I desire with blending 2-3 letter words. Good Job!

Best Tool for teaching kids how to read at an early age. I am so happy that I found this app. As a non-native English speaker, I was not sure if I could teach my four-year-old son to read. We started using the app, which we called the "reading game," almost every day. My son quickly picked up on reading and was very motivated to use it without me forcing him. It was a fun experience for both of us. I appreciate that, besides the screen reading experience, the app also offers printable games like Bingo and Siren Song. These games are not only fun but also encourage reading and provide an opportunity for family bonding. Additionally, my son has learned to color within the lines through color-by-words printables, which is another bonus skill. Definitely recommend to all parents whether your child attends the daycare/preschool or not. Great way to spend 15 minutes a day with your child and see his/her progress. It will make you both proud.

Awesome experience and results!. I honestly couldn’t be happier with this app! My daughter is four years old and about to enter a new school in Kindergarten. She tends to be a perfectionist, so I wanted to set her up for success and give her some confidence before this big transition. Little did I know that the experience would be so successful and she would actually learn to read and LOVE it the entire time! Some things about this program that I love are the requirement for parental involvement (I’m learning to teach her too!) and the fact that the lessons change over the course of the experience which means that she keeps getting excited to see what’s next and she doesn’t get bored! Add to that that we’re actually getting results before lesson 5 — just WOW!

Wonderful. This app has been wonderful for my six-year-old and seven-year-old sons… We began homeschooling last year for their kindergarten and first grade years, where our concentration was mostly on reading. We used the teaching and methods found in the book “Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons”. This app fits perfectly with that methodology, and into our homeschool curriculum! Especially with our 6 year old, now first grader, who is still growing in his phonics recall, sequencing of sound, and fluency… Every time he completes a level he smiles so big!! This app is the perfect balance between curriculum and fun! I do believe that his foundation rooted in the book based curriculum has allowed him to move with a greater pace than the typical beginner schedule, and this app allows an adult to unlock the next lessons as I see fit. In all, this app is great no matter the experience of the learner and the teacher (caregiver)! It’s a gem that is well worth the cost! Finally, the app suggestion and emphasis on parent involvement is so important and necessary. Knowing some families don’t have that type of culture however, this would still be a good gift for a child with a device, and could be completed with the help of an older sibling or relative!

Satisfying. This app is amazing. We have been using it for a month now and my daughter is showing great improvement. The alphabet song is AMAZING and loves how it includes the letters, sounds, and words. My daughter gets very excited to use the app. Sometimes she comes to me and ask can she do her learning app. When it comes to sounding out words I love the slider bar and the icons to show how slow or fast to say the sounds. I truly did not realize it’s a difference in how you say/stretch the letter sounds to sound out a word. This app is teaching me something as a parent. Oh, the emphasis on adult assistance when doing the app is great. I truly recommend this app!!!!

My 5yo Learned to Read!. My kindergartener went from knowing a few letter sounds to being able to read in just a few months. I didn’t like that their school curriculum focused heavily on sight words, so I downloaded this app so he would learn phonics. That was in September and we just finished all 99 lessons now in January. By the end, he was able to read the books almost entirely on his own, he just needed help with some of the sight words. He loves it so much, especially the cute characters he was awarded with at the end of the lessons. I only wish there were more books so he could continue practicing what he’s learned. Yes, we can use physical books, but he’s used to the symbols that help him know what sounds the letters make. Overall, I think this has been a great investment that’s made him excited about learning to read.

Company is non-responsive. I signed up because it advertised there would be no charge if I cancelled within the first 30 days and I wanted to give it a shot with my 4 year old. She had no interest in the game. It has a lengthy alphabet song that it tries to make you play at every level that she (and I) didn’t like, the activities were extremely basic—they aren’t even games, so it’s not interesting to kids. You’re supposed to move a slider with your finger while saying a letter’s sound out loud. That’s not a game. I completed the information of where my child was at with reading and it didn’t make sense where we were in placement—it was trying to introduce her to each letter and the sound it makes, and we are beyond that, so it’s even more boring for her. I emailed the company twice requesting a refund since we only tried the game for 1 day and I got an automated message saying they’re swamped with emails essentially—probably other parents trying to cancel. Now I have to call my credit card company to request they get involved for a refund. Waste of time.

Condescending, boring, and not flexible.. I’m a high school second language teacher with an almost 4 year old and this looked like a great choice for my little early reader; I paid for a year. I’m uninstalling the app after twelve lessons and over $75 because it’s not flexible at all. I’m a parent and a K-12 licensed educator and I know what my kid is ready for, but I’m forced to “teach her the letter N” in this app’s specific way (several lessons at glacial pace) before she can access more than a single book. I can uninstall her profile and start one at a new level, but am I going to do that every time we get to a lesson that she doesn’t need? This app may be good for kids who learn slowly and methodically and struggle with blending but for kids who love books and reading this is not the thing. Just another series of “Adam sat on his hat” lessons that could be had for $20 as a set of paper books (or $2 at a garage sale). Don’t waste your money.

Game changer for my new reader. I started this program with my daughter a couple weeks ago during the summer to get her in the mindset before kindergarten. This has been a game changer. She looks forward to completing the exercises every night. She was showing signs of dyslexia as my husband has it too but this app has really helped her self correct and build confidence. She loves that she gets to read her own books with little support. I encourage all the moms I know whose children are familiar with their letters to sign up. I do wish the initial assessment was in the fore front as she was breezing through the first levels until I realized she needed to start at level 8. Also I wish there were more independent games but overall it's a great joint experience for the whole family.

Amazing reading program 10/10 recommend!. This app is exceptional. My son is 5 and loves to play the “reading game” each day (even after 90 lessons). The structure of each lesson includes a great phonics song (until they graduate from it), a new sound (on most lessons), word writing, word reading, a book, and reading comprehension. They build upon each other which has helped build my child’s confidence with reading. The way that each letter (e.g., long vowel sounds) or diagraph sound has a symbol helps my son recognize how to say the sounds in the word, and the stories are a perfect length so that he doesn’t feel fatigued but gets a good amount of practice. I really like how they have the bar below each word in the books and when practicing the letter sounds and words. He has been able to generalize his reading to other books and is starting to read things out in the community. I highly recommend this app. It’s worth every $.

Daughter asks for it all the time. She loves it, I love it.. My daughter absolutely loves this game. She asks for it everyday and knows her numbers enough to override the grownup settings and try to do more than one lesson a day. She loves the song and is excited about each of the modules. I had originally bought the book Teach your kids to read in 100 lessons, but was overwhelmed by where to start when I saw this app and it seemed similar. We took the assessment and started in lesson 12. I like that this app offers and assessment so we didn’t start at the begging and below her level. I like that modules that reinforce phonics, comprehension, letter recognition and letter writing and reading (the components behind the science of reading). The app itself is not buggy and is seamless on both my phone and the iPad. Overall this is a great app that we love. My only suggestion is that the grownup screen use simple addition rather than the word form of numbers, which is easy for a learning to read kid to override.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!. This app has been by far the best learning app that I have ever downloaded for my kids. It has literally taught my son how to read. Not his school, this app! I love how it starts off with the basics like the ABC song and continues to build on that. There are 100 lessons and we are now on lesson 93. My son did not know how to read at all, not even a little and even though he was just moving on to 1st grade, it bothered me that he didn’t even know the word cat, now he is reading whole books start to finish with very little to no mistakes at all!! I love the games and the printable downloads makes this a true game changer! I’ve already recommended it to anyone who would listen. Absolutely no regrets 10 out 10!!!

It really works. I had a 5 year old who was interested in reading but not yet in kindergarten, so I got him this program. It was key for me that he not get frustrated and lose the love of reading. We were not every day users because we typically only use screens on weekends, but the review is enough that he was able to jump back in fairly easily. He’s now completed the program (and is 1/2 way through kindergarten) and is ahead of many peers. For months he has practiced reading signs and other things out in the world with good success. He has struggled a bit to make the leap from assisted books in the app to paper books, but I’ve seen his confidence grow the last few weeks of lessons. We took the full year to complete all the lessons, and I think I’ll keep the subscription for my middle son (now 4.5). Highlights are the super catchy alphabet song and the parent lessons. I found I had forgotten a lot of how I had learned the tricky sounds so the parent lessons and hints were invaluable. 10/10 I recommend the app.

Amazing!. Wanted to leave a review on this app. My son has so far competed 10 lessons. His Kinder teacher mentioned he was showing signs of dyslexia in October and that his test scores on reading and letters were not that great. We decided to download this app to see if we could improve his reading and letter knowledge. After speaking with his Kinder teacher today, she mentioned he has been doing great at blending his sounds, reading his letters, and his confidence has improved quite a bit. He has another assessment in a couple of weeks to check his progress, but so far so good! He gets very excited to learn off of this app & generally does two lessons a night. I love that it’s engaging & makes it fun for them to learn. The map part of the lessons are exciting for him as well as the extra content per lesson. Highly recommend!

Excellent. We’ve been using this app for a couple of weeks now, and I can truly say my child has made progress. She doesn’t fight to use this program unlike others we’ve tried. She enjoys sitting with us or siblings to do her work. In addition to the app we also read fun/silly books that she likes, sight word flash cards, a handwriting curriculum and her regular daily curriculum work. As a homeschooling parent of four, I need some extra help sometimes and this app has inspired not only the emerging reader (6.5), but the youngest who is two. It’s just excellent. One last thought I wanted to add, for anyone with struggling learners, maturity plays a big role in when a child is ready to learn to something. Reading may come quick for one child and take years longer than expected for another. Every child is gifted in their own way. Our role as parents should always be to challenge them, sure, but mostly to meet them where they are. This app has allowed me to better meet my child where she is and to keep challenging and encouraging her to find the excitement of reading.

Meh program.. Tried this program for my kids. Not as convenient as we would have liked. Experienced sluggish curriculum despite fast internet and current devices. Had thought the app had frozen at times due to it. Concerned about abilities to even delete accounts. Once sending in the form, there was no confirmation or anything. Tried several times, the forums just end up cleared. Not sure if the requests ever went through as we never even received confirmation of the request to email. Emailed the company support and never hard back. Did secure cancelling subscription through apple. Had high hops for this but definitely wasn't worth the download in the end. You can do an assessment to be placed where your child is currently at so that's a plus. But none of my kids ended up enjoying this program. I'm sure it'll be great for others, just wasn't the right fit for us. Hopefully they will finally respond and confirm our account was deletd.

Parents and Teachers’ Best Friend!. If only I had come across this app when I was still in the classroom! I had so many parents asking for simple tools they could use to help their children improve their reading skills at home without just handing them an iPad to do it on their own. This Learn to Read app is meant to be done TOGETHER — making parents a part of the process, going through the lessons alongside their kids. That makes a huge difference for struggling readers who need some extra support and encouragement without getting frustrated as well as for easily distracted learners who benefit from the parent keeping them on track. The gamification aspect keeps it fun for kids. And for the teachers/admins out there, they have a whole admin portal for schools, classes, reporting, and curricula (which are even state-aligned).

Good but there are errors. I like the sliding bar it’s very helpful especially in later levels as the words get more challenging. My child started realistically around lesson 8 or 9 although he is four since he’s known his letters since he was one and their sounds a little while after. He has also been doing basic reading and writing before starting this. For me the abc song at the beginning of each lesson is annoying. The word reading, letter writing, book reading and comprehension are my and my child’s favorite. New sound or letter is very helpful as well as sound story. The scope and sequence is slightly out of order and there are errors. An R controlled word like deer is given before that is taught. It is presented in the lesson of the long e even though on sounding it out, decoding it, the child won’t get it because it is also r controlled. In lesson 52 a short a is presented as a long a in word reading. These are errors and inconsistencies that parents should not have to catch, a less experienced parent won’t know what’s wrong. Overall this app is beneficial and useful but the errors should be fixed because this is paid not free so we especially need value for money. It would be nice to have the option to skip should we need to. Anyone starting with an older child should be able to skip ahead to where the child realistically is to avoid frustration and boredom. A child who is fluent in cvc, cvce and early digraphs is going to be frustrated having to go through the whole beginning process once a day for many days. Instead of starting at the correct level and returning at the parents leisure for review and practice.

Reading Made Fun. I love how easy it is to use the app. The lessons are the perfect length, we love all the cute little interactive characters throughout the while app. The alphabet song is super catchy! What I love most is how the lessons actually teach you how to “sound out” the sounds rather than just memorize what words look like. It really helps you break down each word and that was so helpful! I also love that the “special” words that you just can’t sound out have their own moment at the end of the lessons. THE SLIDER!!!!!! The slider is genius and makes the reading process do much more fun for kids!! Overall, I love the confidence it’s given my kiddos in the reading process!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Astoundingly good app!. I downloaded this to work with my kindergartener to help supplement his learning at school and to make sure he properly learned phonics as his schools curriculum lacked that. We just completed the final lesson over the course of 3-4 months, and he not only learned quite a lot of phonics through this app, he is now reading at a 1st grade if not 2nd grade level, after starting from not being able to read at all! It really only took about 30 minutes of work with him each night, and the apps lessons and fun rewards for completing lessons helped keep him motivated during some of the difficult parts. I can hardly recommend this app enough!

Love it so far. Teaching my 5 year old how to read and just learn her sounds has been such a struggle!! Was feeling hopeless. We’ve used some other “school” apps like Homer, KanAcademy and dulingo for kids, with no success. And even with at home curriculum we never make it very far before we just quit because I’m so frustrated and she can’t focus. We’ve done 7 lessons so far and she is the one reminding me to do them everyday. The alphabet song is great and actually teaches the sounds in a really fun song. The lessons are short and interactive and also make it so the parent has to be involved and do it with them. But still super simple and they go really fast. Neither of us gets burnt out. And even though she’s excited and wants to do more than one lesson, the program recommends doing only one a day. We haven’t been using it for very long, but I’ve seen more progress in her reading skills than ever before. Loving it and definitely recommend it.

Using with my 6 year old granddaughter to learn to rea. I tried the other apps like duolingo and abc mouse to help my granddaughter learn to read because she was behind in her 1st grade reading but they were just games and she was just picking random answers until she would “win” and she definitely didn’t learn much. I read to her every night but that didn’t teach her. I heard from a friend about this app so tried it and it’s a totally new thing. We do it together and she loves it every night! Well maybe we do 3 times a week but the progress was immediate and now she is actually reading words. The app has a very structured approach and takes the guess work out. I can not recommend this more and want to thank the makers.

My child is reading!. I have a 5 year old and we are homeschooling. He’s kindergarten age right now and I was really nervous teaching him to read. I tried hooked on phonics, abc mouse, the good and beautiful, but none of these quite worked with us. I tried this program and we just finished lesson 30- he went from hardly knowing letter names and sounds to full blown reading! I am so proud of him! This program definitely is worth it. It’s paced just right, most of the lessons were just right for him. A couple harder ones we broke into a couple different days but he got it. The program only allows you to do one lesson per day (unless you, the parent, want to do more) and I like that. It’s enough so that they are learning, but not too much that they are being overwhelmed. It also doesn’t teach the letters in alphabetical order, rather it teaches them the most common sounds used first so that they are able to start putting words together and reading. The app itself is so easy to navigate and it’s very routine so you know what to do and about how much work/day it is. It is supposed to be parent led but at this age I wouldn’t want it any other way. It very simply helps me to teach my son to read. Us parents are very much capable to teach our kids but I just wanted a guide on how to first teach reading and this is just perfect for it. We keep track of all sight words and new letters that are introduced and him and I reinforce those before beginning our lessons. So yes this app is perfect, and yes it’s designed so that the parent is the one essentially teaching your child and that’s exactly what I was looking for.

Fun, easy to follow and effective. This is a great app and program! I started using it just before my kid turned two and by the time he was two and a half he could read books himself. Since we are a limited screen time house, getting to learn on an app felt like a real treat to him. It took a handful of lessons for the sliders to catch on and because of his age I helped him do them at first. But within a month or two he could do them himself. I know my kid learning to read by 2.5 is not the norm and I can’t give all the credit to the app (the reason we started to try to teach him how to read is that he learned to recognize all his letters by the time he was 16 months on his own) but the app gave us structure and made it fun. As a first time parent I had never taught a kid to read before and don’t know where to begin. I love that the app has guardrails to keep you from doing too much too fast. It kept it from becoming overwhelming and gave the concepts time to sink in. Recommending to everyone!

It really does work. I never write reviews but I had to after seeing how much my 5-year-old has progressed since we started using this app. He started kindergarten last year and was falling behind, he was selected for instructional support in reading following an evaluation conducted by the school. I was worried but also skeptical at how effective this app would be. I cannot believe how much progress he has made since we started this. He is actually reading on his own now. We made the app a part of our bedtime routine and 1 month later, I got an email from his instructional support teacher saying he has improved in all areas of assessment. I only wish there was a similar app for math concepts and numbers that followed this format.

This method works!. I recently downloaded the app for my 5 and a half year old to help him. I had his two older sibling reading before they turned 5 by using a book called Teach Your Child to Read in 100 easy Lessons. I tried that book with this son but he wasn’t interested in it. This app is the exact same concept as that book! But it’s more interesting to this son so he is participating in the lesson on the app whereas he won’t for the book. Same way of teaching the phonics and then having them read a story, uncover the picture, and then check comprehension. I knew that method worked… I just couldn’t get this child engaged. Glad it’s in a game/app that is able to get him excited and participating. And of course, it’s already working!

No way to progress quickly for more advanced kids. My daughter is halfway through kindergarten and already knows her letter sounds, can sound words out, and is reading short sentences. She knows a list of 20+ sight words already. I downloaded this app and realized they make you start at the beginning with no real way to skip the basics. This app is of no use for a least a month for my daughter it seems, as it only lets you do 1 lesson a day, learning a new letter each day (which she already knows). It says learn at your own pace but that only means as slow as you want, not as quick as you want. My daughter had fun doing the first lesson but quickly got bored when it was too easy for her. Thank god for the free trial - I will be canceling and deleting the app. Seems like a great way to learn, but more for beginners or those having trouble.

Worth every penny!. My 7 yr old had fallen significantly behind in reading due to his ADHD. We had tried several expensive tutoring programs online and in person without much success. Not being a teacher myself, I was pretty desperate for any help when I found this app. In the two months that he’s been using this app he has made ASTOUNDING improvement! I am blown away by how much his reading ability has grown in just these few weeks. He is now independently reading many words in our everyday lives and eagerly tries sounding them out on his own. He’s so much more confident in his ability to sound out words and now gets annoyed if he feels I’m helping too much. He actually enjoys the app and will voluntarily play the games after we’ve completed his daily lesson. I honestly cannot express what a blessing this app has been. I would not hesitate to recommend this app to anyone. It is WELL worth the money!

This has been an amazing experience for my family. I have two boys that are four and five. I wanted them to start learning how to read before either started kindergarten. They started at the same time and I was immediately impressed with the app. It’s the perfect combination of fun for the kids, and baby steps from a lesson perspective. We called it “learning time” and every day I would tell them it’s time to do it, but would never force it. I left it up to them. Each of my boys had a streak of a few weeks where they weren’t interested, but they eventually came back around. They can both read at a kindergarten level now, and I am guessing my five year old is probably at first grade. This app will not teach your kids for you, it’s a tool that requires you to spend time with them. It can be frustrating for everyone involved, which is normal for learning new things. It also requires consistency. If you don’t spend the time and do it consistently, they won’t learn to read. All things considered, I have been very very impressed and can’t recommend it enough! Totally worth the subscription price in my opinion. I wish they didn’t stop at 99 lessons!

Don’t waste your time or money.. I downloaded this app for my 6 year old. She loved it and I did too. It was going great until she got to level 13 and nothing would load and allow her to continue on. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it. I made sure I had enough storage on my phone. Nothing worked. I decided I was deleting it for good and canceling my subscription. When I pulled it up I noticed I was being double charged for the same subscription but it was showing as two separate. I only signed up the one time. I noticed in the reviews a lot of people were under the impression that it read to your child. It does not. It is a program that you have to help your child through, reading them the directions and asking them questions. I didn’t mind this though, I actually preferred it and it only takes about 5 minutes to get through a lesson. I’m really bummed this didn’t work out, the app has potential. It just stopped working.

Great for my toddler. My daughter is 1 (almost 2) and I feel a little crazy trying to teach her to read, but she already knows how to read every letter of the alphabet- so it just seems like the right place. But I was having a hard time figuring out a resource that works with the attention span of a toddler. This seems to be great for that. We have done two lessons so far and my daughter REALLY likes the alphabet song. She makes us play it 3-4 times. She already knows the letters M and A, so pairing that with their sounds now is the new piece and she’s really enjoying it. Just the right length. Little pieces of information. I also like that it tells me what to say, so it’s very interactive for the two of us. There are things she does and things I do. It’s a nice bonding activity.

The BEST reading app. This app couldn’t be better! My son is in kindergarten, and during his recent conference, his teacher told us he’s extremely advanced in reading. He’s now reading full sentences and absolutely thriving in school! We’re currently on lesson 80 and should finish by December 1st (we like to go at our own pace). I’m so grateful for this app—it not only taught my son how to read but also gave us such a special bonding experience. One thing I really love is how responsive the team is to feedback. When we first started, the last book ended around lesson 94, but they’ve since updated it so the books now go all the way to lesson 99! Highly recommend this app to any parent who wants to give their child a strong start in reading. It’s been such a rewarding journey!

improving and enhancing our abilities to guide our children with small steps each day. I have been very happy with this app as it has provided the structure I was missing to confidently teach my daughter what she had been asking to learn for a while. I wanted to wait until we were farther along to get a better idea of the results and therefore give a more helpful review. My daughter is four years old and we have been using this app for the last four months. Four months ago she already knew her letters and the sounds they made from toys and coloring books etc. I was having trouble showing her how the sounds blended together to form words when I stumbled upon this app. The technique of using sliders to “say each sound first slowly and then fast” at your own pace worked very well! The app has divided what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming journey (especially for a parent who has no background in teaching) into small enjoyable daily lessons with extra games and activities to reinforce the sounds and writing of each letter. New games and activities are unlocked periodically so her interest is kept fresh. After a point a new book is revealed every day or every other day with a story using a variety of fun characters that will become familiar. Each text is specifically put together to practice the new sounds taught from the lesson before. These books accumulate to form a mini library that my daughter enjoys going back and reading from by herself for the rest of the day. She is now at the phase where she is trying to read the signs around her and her books from our neighborhood library by herself. There are still five or six “new sounds” left in the app so we are not quite there yet but the step by step approach has built her confidence and patience to try and sound out longer and longer words and sentences. By the time we have finished all of the lessons I am confident she will be able to pick out and read books from the children’s section by herself. I am very thankful that I get to be a part of this learning experience with my daughter in this way that is fun for us both.

2 weeks and my 5 year old is reading. My daughter is 5 and all she knew was the ABC. She could not read at all! In about lesson 14 (we do 1 lesson every 1-2 days) she started finally reading. She is of course still learning but she can read with help easy sentences. We are in day 17 and she learns more and more everyday. She has fun. Lessons are no more than 10 minutes. She usually stays longer playing the games. Im so impressed with this app. I was very sad my daughter was not reading like mostly kids in her class. I did not know how to start. Im glad i give this app a chance. You won’t regret it! And it’s not even that expensive. Worth every penny and more.

needs more flexibility. The app has beautiful graphics and a clean, not visually overloaded design, which I really appreciate. However, as a non-native English speaker, I would love to have more flexibility at the letter-learning stage. For example, it would be very helpful to be able to tap on a letter and hear its sound again immediately, instead of having to go back to a different activity where the teacher pronounced it earlier. Another issue for me is the number of steps required to skip certain activities. For instance, I don’t quite understand why every letter includes a three-minute alphabet song that I have to skip each time. I’d prefer to be able to skip it directly, without even entering that activity, and move straight to letter practice instead. The same applies to additional stories — sometimes we don’t want extra listening or screen time, and would prefer to focus only on learning letters. I also found the onboarding process quite time-consuming. I spent about 15 minutes answering questions before downloading the app, and then another 10 minutes answering essentially the same questions again after installing it from the App Store. Before giving the app to my child, I wanted to explore it myself, but I felt there wasn’t enough flexibility to freely jump between lessons just to quickly understand how everything works. Unfortunately, I decided to cancel the subscription. The features I really need are missing, while there is a lot of content that I don’t need and that is quite difficult to skip. That said, I truly hope the app will be improved in the future — I would be happy to come back and use it again.

Very achievable.. Only takes a few minutes each day. We enjoy spending the time together and it’s an effective learning tool in a busy house.

First reading app that worked. I have tried so many learn to read apps with my child. This is the first one that ACTUALLY got them to a point where they can read short books. Amazing! If you’re looking for a set and forget app you can pass to your child to do on their own this is not for you but if you’re willing to sit down with your child each time they use the app and support them it is perfect. It has scripts for the parent to read. 5/5. I only wish there was an option for UK English as there were times the sounds were wrong for us as it only has the US English option.

Scam, stay away!. Worse lazy zero effort cash grab. Shame on you

Makes reading simple and stress free. This app is incredible and made learning how to read simple and effective for my daughter. She grasped key skills easily with the way the lessons are explained and taught. We finished the 99 lessons and although I am happy with the outcome I am quite sad there is no continuation to help her further develop her reading skills. If a supplementary app was provided for continued learning I would purchase in a heartbeat.

Fun to learn!. This app is fantastic for teaching children how to read. It makes the learning process really enjoyable and engaging for kids. My kids look forward to using it every day. If you’re looking for a fun and effective way for your children to learn to read, I highly recommend this app!

Amazing game. This app is fantastic. It has a lovely way of introducing new concepts in a fun way and it was accessible enough for my early reader to get engaged. She has learned a ton and we really enjoyed playing it together.

Predatory. The free trial is predatory. I signed up a week ago for a free trial, my son wasn’t interested and one week later I’m charged for a full YEAR. We used it once for maybe 3 mins. No reminder that the trial was coming to an end, which is just awful. Such a predatory tactic, sign up for a week and then be charged for a year exactly one week later. Don’t bother.

Coming along.. We are only a few days into the app, level 4, but I do like that my son can also practice his writing skills as well as reading! He will be going into grade 1 in the fall, so these early lessons are a little below his level currently, but as we go along I can see how it is setting him up for better reading skills. Looking forward to future lessons and watching him learn. Also, my 3 year old sits with us during lessons, so I’m hoping that he’ll pick up on some of the skills.

Enjoyed the visuals. My daughter was really excited about this game. She really liked the avatar idea and personalizing it. Having levels was fun and it felt like a video game!

Amazing. My son is in French school, and isn’t learning to read in English yet. I am so grateful this app follows the “science of reading” method with phonics, and has us learning how to read in English. I also love the grown up prompts, helps me understand everything that he is learning.

Highly Effective Reading Program. My daughter really enjoyed and benefited from the program; she eagerly completed several lessons a day. She began reading incredibly quickly. I'm very grateful to you and your program because there were certain aspects, like sounds and rules, that I couldn't explain to her due to my limited English proficiency. We tried various books and programs, but it was through your program that my kid started reading. I am endlessly thankful to you.

Nice for younger kid. Nice app and well developed. Only issue is having To go through all the easy things for my 7 year old to feel challenged later on. It’s a process but when it’s too easy it’s too boring

App breakdown. I like to use your app for teaching my kids to how to read. However, app breakdowns when I hit the videos button. I exit and reopened the app but nothing changed. Can you fix that issue please?

Great App. Honestly my son had no interest in reading. Knew all the letters and sounds but struggled blending them together. This app here helped me get my boy right, he’ll be in grade 1 next school year and I’m so happy he’ll be reading before he gets there.

Great app. "It is not overwhelming for Skylar. She gets excited every time I tell her it is time for our reading lesson. I like how they put it into baby steps for a starter reader. "

Frustrated to be charged for not using. Disappointed. I unsubscribed and deleted this app off my phone the first day. I was still charged the subscription fee without being refunded. Only received a response from an automated email.

Reading at 3 years old. My daughter completed these lessons just after she turned 3 and now, a few months later, reads at a Grade one level or beyond. She had shown very early signs of reading readiness and had enjoyed other reading apps. But this app was by far our favourite. She excelled at reading the books and liked the “I can read!” way they are structured. Little things like the characters helped motivate her. I appreciated the adult involvement - this is not an app you just use to distract your child while you get other things done. Highly recommend!

Beyond happy. My 4 yr old has been working with the app for 4 weeks and is reading sentences. She recognizes words wherever we are and can read them out loud! This is a fantastic learning tool and I highly recommend it to others.

Teaches your child to read in weeks!. If you’re looking to teach your child to read, don’t look any further. I can’t say enough about this app. The longer I have had it, the more impressed I have been! So don’t be like me and think that the one week trial will suffice. You’ll want to get this app for several months at least! This app has completely taught my son how to read. He is 5 and went into the app knowing his letters, sounds and a few sight words. As a teacher, I’ve been so impressed by the effective method of teaching how to decode words. And as soon as they learn that skill, they can read anything! I have felt like the student with this app also and will be using the methods taught in this app to help my students understand how to begin reading. The English language is so complex, and they have thought of everything from teaching and explaining decoding through letter sound recognition and blends, while simultaneously teaching sight words that cannot be sounded out (ex. The) . The app is extremely engaging (even compelling the child to continue on and strive for future lessons when they can earn a new game/ book, etc!). The customer service team has been quick to respond, kind and generous. I had a few questions, and they answered me within hours! Even my three year old has enjoyed playing some of the games, and trying out some of the early levels. I will continue to introduce the app to him at a slower pace and I know it will help him out tremendously. I am so impressed!

2 week Progress. My daughter is 5 and she went from not reading anything to now (2 weeks later) being able to read almost any 2 letter and 3 letter word. So proud and so happy. Best money and time I've every spent. It’s great that the parent has to be involved because it gives you a great outline which you can build upon in your everyday life. I also agree that child actually does better when you take a day off here and there. Thank you!

Easy to navigate!. It’s so refreshing to see an app that’s easy to navigate for both adults and children. That alone is a 5 star worthy mention.

Just get it!. My son was struggling to read and falling behind the rest of his peers. It was so hard watching him struggle, and I had no idea how to help him better. I downloaded this app after many others and this was the only one that truly helped him! Within a month, my son caught up to the rest of his peers, started acting better at school, and now is reading all on his own and even sounding out big words! This app was truly a lifesaver! Thank you so much and if you’re on the fence, this is your sign to get it!!

Amazing!!. My grandson started this program when he was 5, a little reluctantly I might add, but soon got comfortable and actually looked forward to his lessons each day. He’s now 6 and has just completed his first 99 lesson program. He ended loving the lessons and now he has so much confidence in reading, writing and speaking. He also loved that he could customize and personalize his nickname and character. I even printed off some of the games and had them laminated so that they would last us a long time. We enjoy playing them together. This program is pretty dang cool.

It’s almost there.. It’s a great app for the most part. It’s is very engaging and intuitive which are probably its greatest features. However, I have a problem with the way some of the phonics are pronounced. The two biggest ones for me are the letter L being pronounced “ul” and the letter R being pronounced “er”. I think these words should be pronounced “luh” and “ruh” ideally removing the “uh” sound. “Ul” and “er” are typically pronounced at the back end of a word i.e. “milk” and “bigger”. The letters M and N are definitely on the fence with its pronunciation but at least they are intuitive to my baby girl. So for those reasons, I cannot give it 5 stars but if they changed this, it would be a 5 star rating. Hope this helps.

Amazing App. There is no better reading app out there. My daughter is in Kindergarten and just finished the program. She understood the letter blending as explained and was engaged and excited to do the lessons. The books were cute and perfectly challenging. She loved completing the path. I love that the picture doesn't distract and she isn't guessing the words based on the picture. She actually knows them. I don't know any kids my daughters age that can read as well as she can after this program. This app is worth every penny!

Excellent reading program. My son started using this app in kindergarten and he just started first grade, but I can confidently say this app has allowed him to grow as a reader and he is definitely a strong reader for the start of first grade. I love that the program starts with letter sound recognition then gradually goes up to reading actually words (cvc) and then bigger words. I love that there are games available as a reward, it’s interactive and has comprehension questions. There are a couple things that can be fine tuned but I’d say overall it’s worth it!

My son has learned a lot in the first month of using this app.. After only a month (22 lessons) my 3.5 year old is sounding out words and doing really good at writing his letters. The development team is great too. I canceled initially after my one week free trial was up because one week isn’t enough to really see if it worked and I thought I had to pay the yearly subscription fee to keep using the app. But they reached out to me to see why I canceled and what they could improve on. Then they let me know you can go into subscriptions and pick a monthly subscription instead.

It works and it’s fun!. The alphabet song is amazing. My daughter loves music and has most the sounds memorized already with the picture prompt of the song. She still doesn’t have them all memorized outside the song yet, but the song is definitely a huge help to get her there! She’s not quite 3, but by lesson 4 she was legitimately blending two letter sounds together by herself! This app really works! Then she loves the cloud game, so I just tell her we have to complete a lesson before we can do the game.

Worth the money. My son loved this program. He started struggling with reading at the end of 1st grade. Using this program helped him get back on grade level by halfway through second grade. This app helped us see that my son really benefits from seeing one line of text at a time, and we’re able to give him those supports while reading outside of this app as well. I’m actually so sad he completed all the levels. I would love another 100 or more and would gladly keep subscribing. I was skeptical of the annual price at first, but can say with complete confidence in my experience it was totally worth it.

Fantastic App. This app is fantastic, well organized, and provides a wonderful roadmap to reading in very short lessons. I have been teaching my four year old how to read with this app and he is not just enjoying it but truly learning how to read. The sounds of letters, introduction of sight words early on to allow for reading books, teaching skills like rhyming and more. Beautifully laid out. You don’t need to be a teacher to confidently support your kid in reading.

This app is a God-send. This has quickly become the best part of our morning routine. My two-year-old has jumped right in to learn along her 5-year-old brother. Both are engaged and clearly learning SO many skills necessary for reading, each presented in accessible, bite-size chunks. I stumbled upon this while looking for some positive screen time options, and now I’m delighted to realize I will help my child (maybe children?) learn to read this year. Thank you, to the developers, for making this so excellent! I honestly can’t imagine how it could be any better.

Quick results!. I’ve been looking for a resource that will help me teach my daughter to learn to read, and this is the best one I’ve tried! This app tells me exactly what to do as the parent during the lesson, which is amazing because I did not know if I was teaching the right skills at the right time when I was using worksheets with her. We are on lesson 20, and she is reading the books and learning so quickly! I highly recommend this to any parent. My daughter asks to do her reading lesson each day, that’s crazy!❤️

Highly Recommend. I am a huge fan of this program and have recommended it to many others. When done consistently, we saw huge strides in her reading. She didn’t balked at doing it and while there are many other things I resist in completing with my child this time together was very enjoyable. I wish there were more “parent child” apps that followed this type of structure and just the right amount time for learning. Effective and enjoyable.

Absolutely Amazing!. When my daughter finished kindergarten she was behind in reading and we knew over the summer we needed to do something to catch her up. This app made a HUGE difference! By the time she started 1st grade and took her beginning of the year assessments she tested at or above target in all reading areas. Her 4 year old brother loved watching her so much he started too and now he’s on his learn to read journey and will absolutely be reading before kindergarten with the help of this app!! Thank you so much for this amazing tool that helps me have the tools to help my kids!

Excellent resource for little kids and parents. I cannot praise this app enough. I’m very grateful to its creators for making this process a fun experience. I’m not going to say that it was all rosy, especially in the beginning when kids have very little attention span. But I did not give up and kept trying with different ways with success. We’re only halfway through our lessons at 45, and she can read most level 1,2,3 books on her own with some help for difficult words. Highly recommend! I’ve tried a bunch of other resources too but this was what truly helped her.

Amazing App!. I’ve loved using this app with my daughter over the last few months. It really felt like it took her from knowing letter sounds and reading words in isolation to truly being able to read. It was a perfect way to help build up her stamina for reading and to introduce more complex letter patterns. As an added bonus, it was a great way for us to get some special one on one time together with her little sister often demanding attention. Thank you!

Reading ap. We LOVE this ap! My son has autism and has trouble following through with a lot of the other stuff we try for reading and learning. With this he made it through the entire program and is READING! He is now 6 years old (we finished this program when he was 5) but he still goes back into the ap completely by his choice and likes to read the books using the sound out tool under the word. My daughter just turned 5 and she is now doing this as well and beginning to READ! Thank you for this program and we are hoping there is another advanced one soon!

So helpful for my now 2nd grader and Kindergarten child with reading! Highly recommend. I love this program! It helped my son who was struggling with reading while in 1st grade! Within two weeks he went from hardly able to read words that he hadn’t memorized the words to completely reading the words and able to read books by himself without any mistakes! It has helped him with spelling words as well as being able to write sentences too! I absolutely would recommend this app to any parent who is wanting to help their child with reading!

10 stars. My son is 4 and on the autism spectrum. He loves using this app, and I was actually able to teach him to read using it. I’d give you 10 stars if I could. Bravo developers! Also - shame on anyone that gave a bad review. You have no idea the level of knowledge, vigilance, and time it takes to create something like this. This app is incredibly well made and so thoughtful. And if you’re complaining about prices, get out of the App Store, sell your iPhone, and buy a Motorola razor. Would you like to work for free? I think not. Quit being so cheap. Super helpful tool. My son has SPED needs (ADHD, Intellectual, mild Autism) he was able to follow easily, and loved the graphics and rewards. He is able to read better than when we started, although I need to continue reading along with him. We didn’t do many paperwork activities maybe that may have increased independence. I can see that any other child without SPED needs would easily be reading independently at the end of the course. Thank you.

Seasoned parent- Best program I’ve Used- thank you!. So many things… the alphabet song is refreshing and fun! This program has been brilliantly put together. Using the sliders to blend sounds, parent tips(as a seasoned parent I taught three of my kids to read with various other programs) are helpful reminders. Short, clear lessons. Graphics are ADORABLE and not too busy- thank you! This program is impressive, it is clear a person with high standards put it together and used proven teaching techniques. I am impressed and happy to pay for this program. "

Great app for preventing the summer slide- needs a couple of changes. As a second grade (former first grade) teacher, I love this app. It follows the Science of Reading pretty closely. There are two changes that are very important to make: 1. When teaching letter sounds, do not add /u/ to the end (short u sound). This really impacts decoding and blending. For example- The word is bat. The student says buh-a-tuh. Then when they try to blend that together as a whole word, they have more sounds than they need and won’t be able to blend it back together. I would also like to see “sight words” taught as “heart words”

My child is reading!. The key, like everything else, where the daily routine and consistency plays so well hand in hand with perfect balance of fun, games, sounds, into child’s brain and interest. Everything came seamless. And I have enjoyed being a mediator of this precious little journey into learning how to read! And boy did he learn it and now loves reading all the books that are his favorite to listen to and now he can actually read them! For that, thank you

Phenomenal Reading Program. My six year old son completed all 99 lessons over the summer. His decoding ability, reading comprehension, and sight word recognition has soared! I love that the app would balance new sounds with review to keep his learning fresh. It was just the right pace the entire time! My son enjoyed the word games and felt proud each time he would read a new book during a lesson. The visual timeline was very encouraging for him to see just how far he had come! Highly recommend!!

Update. My son completed all levels. We started this app because he was at risk of being placed in special education in first grade. He was reading at 1st grade 2 month level with many gaps from kindergarten when he should have been reading at a 1st grade 8m with no gaps. The school felt he just wouldn’t ever be able to catch up they thought he was dyslexic . Well I’m now happy to say he will be entering 2nd grade reading at a 3rd grade 2 month level. This app works. Stay consistent it pays off and your child’s confidence will sky rocket. I’m so thankful for this app! Thank you.

Amazing program!. My son is neurodivergent and we have tried ALL of the programs we could find. From hooked on phonics, abc mouse, khan academy, to all about reading and bob books. Nothing was keeping him interested and he was often getting discouraged and we would spiral. This program has him READING WITH CONFIDENCE in 2.5 months. We took the entry test and it placed him at level 24 and he completed all the remaining levels and played games daily. Amazing program, we will use it again soon when our toddler is ready!

This app works!. Started with my son when he turned 4. He just turned 5 and is about to finish with all the lessons. He is now at a first grade reading level. It definitely took some work but now he is proud of what he was able to do working bit by bit each evening. He looks back at all the lessons he has finished and says how easy they are for him now. It has done wonders not only for his reading ability but his confidence that he can do hard things if he sets his mind to it. Highly recommend.

A quick hit with my 4 & 6yo!. Great characters and beautifully fun, interactive design for kids. Love the built-in parental controls and also how each little detail comes to life on screen in the lesson map. My kids always beg to do the next lesson (brilliant to only allow one lesson per day to keep it well paced). 10/10 recommend. This has become my Kindergarteners homeschool reading program.. and now my 4yo has his own profile to join in on the fun. He is taking to it so quickly — I give credit to the fun design, clear goals, great songs, and the games!

Great app…wish it was a little cheaper. I love this app…the teaching methods are solid and I love the letter sounds and blending reinforcements. I’ve been homeschooling for 12 years so this is a nice addition to our learning to read routine. I just wish it was more affordable for us. As a homeschool parent I pay for everything out of pocket, so it would be nice if they had a teacher or homeschool discount to make this more doable for families. Very well put together app. Highly recommend if you have extra in your budget for it.

Best Reading Program Ever!. My son is a bit older and was struggling in school. He was having a lot of trouble reading, so I purchased this app and started over with him. He just finished all the lessons yesterday and the difference in his ability to read is amazing! I wish I would have discovered this app last year when he started having issues. He went from a Kindergarten level to a 2nd grade level because of this app. I absolutely recommend this app for anyone teaching their child to read or whose child is struggling with reading!

Makes reading fun!. My son is 8 and is still having a hard time reading. We tried this app a week ago and things he was struggling with (like blending sounds) is noticeable better. I love that they do a first lesson and then an assessment to find what lesson to continue on. Another thing that is helpful is that the books hide the picture before reading. This forces him to actually read. In normal books he would “guess” the words based on the picture and not actually read. My son said the app feels like a video game and he loves video games!!! And he actually wants to do it with me. I am so thankful I saw the ad on TikTok. I hope they expand to older ages to increase reading comprehension for older elementary and middle school. Hopeful that by the end of the summer my son will be on reading level.

Five Stars from a Reading Specialy. My own daughter struggled with reading and our school's current curriculum was not aligned to effective reading research. I decided to try out this app. I was hesitant at first because reading games of the past all didn't focus on key components of early literacy like phonemic awareness and correct blending of letter sound in a scope and sequence that aligned to the Science of Reading. This program does all of that and more! I am so impressed as a reading specialist and so relieved to have for my own child that is engaging and effective. You need this app, you won't regret it!

For Autism. My children are both autistic and struggle with speech and reading. This app is a lifesaver. My 7 year old is reading so well now and my 6 year old is finally able to understand his letters because of the amazing alphabet song this program has. I’m beyond thankful we have something that works for us because other programs were not working. I love how it’s quick so we don’t get burned out but actually works to teach my kids how to read.

Very well designed. This app does a great job of blending reading teaching methods, is totally engaging, but not overstimulating. We are on lesson 8 so far, and I feel that there isn’t one part of this app that is entertainment only. Every part of it is mindfully created. My son has had difficulty in the past, especially with sustained focus. He comes to me asking to do his lessons. He loves it. He is already reading three letter words and it has only been a couple weeks. We all absolutely love the alphabet song too! So good.

Love What I See, Want More. Would truly love this for my child who is also having to learn Japanese. A Nihongo version would help him so much. I love how well the app walks is through reading material and speaking tempo. Having this for other languages would be wonderful. I got this app because I saw it showed a child’s native tongue and English as they learned. I am still searching for it. The app has yet to ask what my child’s native tongue is however. I will delete my account to see if I initiated incorrectly. I’m hoping I did so I can proceed with that.

This program worked for us. My son started this at 3 years and 3 months old. Within a couple months he was reading simple things and around lesson 50 we slowed down a lot because he was happily reading other materials all the time. Now he’s a total bookworm, but so is everyone in the family so ymmv. We eventually returned to finish all the lessons just for the sake of it. But I’m happy this app gave the foundation and steps to get started. I like their simple animations, instead of what you find in many other apps where it’s too stimulating like a video game.

Incredible.. An incredible program that made learning to read so easy and stress free. While it is a lot of lessons, it broke everything down into manageable chunks and my son and I enjoyed getting to spend dedicated time together most nights. My 5 year old was SO proud of himself when he finished and the last lesson has a special surprise that he LOVED. He cried when it was over and kept asking if we could come back and visit his reading lessons. Will definitely be using again with my second!

Kindergarten Teacher Review. I have the privilege of being a Kinder teacher, as well as being the mom of a Kinder age child this year! I downloaded this app last year to give my son a head start, and thought it would end once school started. I was wrong! He begs for it twice a day well into the school year, and he’s ahead of his classmates. When I have a full schedule and can’t take any more tutoring students, this is one of the things I recommend. Totally worth the subscription.

The best! Give it a try!. I am so pleased with this program. My 4 year old was so frustrated with reading and struggled to blend. She only knew her alphabet and sounds and vowels. I tried the free trial and she loved it! We continued with the program and she just finished all 110 lessons. She is reading at a first/second grade level! Excellent program! My one quip is that I wish they had more phonics rules for the parent to read but other than that I am beyond pleased with our experience! I wish they had a language arts program we could move into.

Amazing Learning Tool. This is actually a really great App! I want to give it 10 stars!! Keep in mind that you must stay next to your child and work with them through it. I started my daughter when she was three and by the time she got into kindergarten, she was already reading and writing all of her letters. Reading, solid words like hello, what, etc.. I in fact, love this app so much that I have recommended it to all friends and family… And my youngest Lily is now starting at the age of 3 1/2 and she I know we’ll do just as as well as her sister! Thank you so much for creating this for us. It’s solid AND IT WORKS.

Loved! Not for dyslexia:(. Pros: This is a cute and progressive program! The games are fun and reinforce the lessons. Cons: It helped my child learn a bit but he really struggled with the books. And I just rushed him through at the end to get done with the program in a year so I didn’t have to renew the expensive subscription. (They should make it where you only pay for it ONCE till your child learns to read. If it takes over a year you have to pay for subscription AGAIN. That’s not right) My son might be dyslexic so we could only get through two lessons a week! Another con is the abc song! It is TOO LONG! My kid hated it. They should do with out the “whatcha wanna bet you can learn the alphabet” chorus, and the “26 letters even more sounds…” it’s boring and doesn’t impress learning. Overall I liked the program it just didn’t help my kid read within a year:(

It’s Spectacular. Can’t believe the quality of this reading program. My son asks me to do it every single day without fail. I love that we do it together and the pacing of the lessons. Plus, the visuals, sounds, and game board format are just amazing—such a lovely user experience. Watching my 4YO progress so seamlessly is like actual magic. He’s my oldest and I was nervous about teaching him to read, but this is making it so easy and fun. Hardest part is literally trying to do just one lesson a day. Thank you guys for the work and effort you put into this.

My son reads!!. From the very beginning of the lessons, my son picked up the material extremely quickly. He understood the activities right away and was genuinely excited to have his lessons ,even after school. About halfway through the program, he was already reading, and during my conference with his teacher, she mentioned that he already knew all his letters and sounds with confidence. She even suggested that I consider having him evaluated for the Gifted and Talented program!!!

Great reading app!!!. I’m so obsessed with this reading app it’s really game changer!!! Truly recommend this app for the kids who learn to read! It’s really helpful! My daughter went through all lessons, she love getting presents after she completed each lesson it’s motivating her to do next lesson! Books are really good and easy to read and understand. I love how they explaining each new sounds giving an examples of sounds and have a marks over the letters that helps to read correctly and easily for kiddos! We love this reading app!!! Thanks to the developers for such a wonderful reading app that really works!

Great but app freeze. The app is incredible! My four-year-old is incredibly engaged and motivated, and even my two-year-old is eager to learn. This has made me consider starting my young one’s reading journey early. However, the app keeps freezing, which disrupts the learning process and reduces the time we have to use it. I kindly request that you investigate this issue and find the root cause. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Fun and helpful app. I love this app so much. And even better, both my boys do too. My older son was struggling with reading, had a hard time focusing on letters in words and sounding them out. The slider in this app highlights each letter as you go over it, and really helped him to focus on the sound of each letter in a word. He is reading on his own now fully after completing all lessons in this app! My toddler also loves it, and is learning his abc’s with it. The games are fun for both kids, and they love the cute interactive animations on the home screen!

Amazing for au-dhd kids!. My son has au-dhd and was a late bloomer with reading. This app TRANSFORMED how he felt about reading in general. It wasn’t “school” or “work” anymore, it was “quality time with mom”, something I didn’t realize we needed. The lessons are fun, quick (perfect for those with short attention spans), and very engaging. I recommended it for my niece to supplement her public school lessons awhile back and her reading has improved as well (she was really struggling with common core and sight words). The way they teach is different and it WORKS!

Finally!! Best App to Kids Teach How to Read!. This is an interactive app version of the book with the title that is something like Teach Your Kid to Read in 100 Lessons. That’s why I chose this program. But it’s open and go. I used the book with my older child years ago, but she would get restless while I had to read all the instructions. This is so much easier and kid and mom friendly!! The letter blend slider is wonderful and my son understood it immediately. It was absolutely effective in the very first lesson! I love it!

Very thoughtfully designed and well made. I’m blown away by how well crafted this app is. It’s very well paced, and at the end of the lesson my reader is always commenting on how surprisingly fun it was. He loves uncovering the pictures after reading, the songs, and presents at the end. But I think he also loves that it’s adjusted to his level he can actually read. Which is exciting for both of us. I also love the adult instructions, the reminders of what attitude and what to focus on and help with is so helpful. Excellent app, it feels like exactly what we needed.

It works!. My daughter is going into first grade. She struggled a bit with reading in kindergarten and even went to summer school, but was resisting practicing with us. I saw an ad for this game and figured I’d do the free trial. A week in and it has really been working! The sliding bar in the “books” is helping her slow down and sound out each letter rather than guess the words. She’s been even using the skills on actual books! Free trial expired and I’m now happily paying for it! It was the boost she needed!
